Every time I visit the Dream World, Fennel keeps giving me the tutorial as if I had never been there before (e.g. explaining to me how the garden works, how to befriend a Pokémon, etc.). Has this been happening to anyone else and does anyone know how to turn it off? This is getting very annoying.

Training for E4

Once again.... I have defeated all the trainers except for the elite 4, and my team is still a tad too low leveled to take them on. Other than mass Audino genocide, any tips? My team is still entirely lvl 44

deoxys121 July 5th, 2011 7:02 PM

Big Stadium and Small Court in Nimbasa City have trainers that can be battled daily. Other than that, all you can really do is train in Victory Road. I recommend you train to at least Lv50.

What's the best pokemon in Black?

JonnyPhoenyx July 6th, 2011 2:08 PM

I just got back into poke'mon a few weeks ago, so I've never received an event poke'mon. When you get one can you nickname it, or since it's given to you are you stuck with the original name?

That's a very broad question. "Best" can refer to many different things, usually a trainer's personal preference. I assume you mean the one with the highest total stat spread. In BW that would be Zekrom and Reshiram at 680, followed by Kyurem at 660.

Well there are some like Victini that you actually catch, so for the most part you're right, but there are also times when you can name it.

Got it. So event pokes you can catch = nickname-able. Event given = stuck with name. Thanks!

Well, not necessarily. If the received Pokemon shares your OT and Trainer ID, then it will be eligible for a renaming.

It stays until the end of battle, then disappears when you leave battle.

Hi,Little Help?

hi, I am from Turkey and i want to play online. I registered to the gl-pokemon.com and it asked my game sync id. I opened the C-Gear to get my Game Sync Id but it always has a connection error. Is there another way to get the Game Sync Id?
Thanks for your help.

Hey guys.
A friend told me that the EV training mechanics changed from 4th Gen to BW. What can you tell me about this?

kelario27 July 7th, 2011 1:36 PM

Does the game give you an error code?

Pokemaniacreno July 7th, 2011 10:28 PM

hi, I want to connect with wi-fi but when I open the Wi-Fi Connection Setup and search for an acces point I always have this error: " The acces point's security settings are not supported by the Nintendo Ds. For help, please visit support.nintendo.com" :(
How can I connect to the WiFi? thanks for help.

Do you use a DS Lite or original DS, and is your internet set to WPA security?

I use DS Lite. And the security is WPA

why its not working? I didn't understand.

Several changes were implemented:
  1. Actual EV stat bonuses are calculated at the end of every battle, rather than at level-up (therefore an L100 Pokemon can still benefit from EV training).
  2. "Wings" found on Bridge Phenomena (flying Pokemon shadows) will increase an EV by 1. Unlike Vitamins, they function past the 100 EV mark.
  3. EV-reducing Berries will always remove 10 EVs from the Pokemon, even if the Pokemon has over 100 EVs in the stat (it will no longer reset to 100).
  4. Everything else remains the same.

DS Lites do not support WPA security. You'll have to either get a DSi or change your internet's security to WEP.

Not to prove you wrong or anything.... but there is a third option. A Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector. I use it because I have a WPA security and it works just as good as if my settings were WEP.

The banned Pokemon are:

1. Mewtwo
2. Mew
3. Lugia
4. Ho-oh
5. Celebi
6. Kyogre
7. Groudon
8. Rayquaza
9. Jirachi
10. Deoxys
11. Chatot
12. Diagla
13. Palkia
14. Giratina
15. Phione
16. Manaphy
17. Darkrai
18. Shaymin
19. Arceus
20. Victini
21. Reshiram
22. Zekrom
23. Kyurem
24. Keldeo
25. Meloetta
26. Genesect

Looks like you're safe. Any Pokemon with Sky Drop is banned as well, although that probably doesn't apply to you.

According to Bulbapedia, it's 10% for itself and for each ally in a double/triple battle. :)

Question about Black City/White Forest

Hi everyone,

Recently I had the opportunity to meet a friend who is playing White Version (I have Black) and after a few trades and battles, we decided to see how the Entralink feature worked. We used it a few times to increase our residents in Black City and White Forest, but after I had 8 trainers in Black City (don't remember how much he had in the Forest, but probably close to the same) I couldn't find any more trainers in his Forest that wanted to come back with me. Is there a maximum of 8 trainers allowed in the City, and if so, how are you supposed to get the money reward for defeating 10 trainers??? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not completely certain (someone feel free to confirm/correct if I'm wrong), but after a while you probably just can't take more from one person's White Forest. The Black City limit is pretty high for trainers iirc.

No, they can be shiny. Although the wandering Kami would be a pain to get shiny, the Musketeers would be a mater of RNG or soft-resetting.

I can't say for 100% sure, but I'm fairly certain you won't. I would suggest trading Victini to someone else and then trading it back after you start over.

Skuntank July 9th, 2011 10:16 AM

when you use a trick room pokemon like reuniclus do you base your entire team around it?

Gulpin July 9th, 2011 10:45 AM

You don't have to, but you can. I have a TR Reuniclus on my competitive team, and it can usually hold its own while TR is in play. It only lasts like 5 turns, and if you put the right moves on Reuniclus it should be able to stay alive while TR is in play. However, you can build a team around TR, but it would require keeping Reuniclus alive throughout the match, or you will need multiple TR users.

It's in the same area as the ice rock, at the very bottom through the north door I believe.

For the Relic Castle, you need to wait until the Plasma invasion there to advance further, and until you've beaten the game before Volcarona's cave is available.

I can only assume, but it would have to be lower than the average pokemon
sent out into battle. So after taking a glance at the OU pokemon, below 60
is good enough.
(I'm no expert. This is just what I think is good.) :15:

If it's anything to go by, imo, it's the amount of Pokemon you encounter rather than the amount of times you've entered a location. For example, if you visit the forest once, you can at most encounter about 8 Pokemon. Then, go to the sky, you'll get about 6 or so, then sea, you'll get idk, 8 (just guesses), but as long as you've won all their mini-games without running from them, then generally Pokemon will keep appearing. However, if you avoid a few and therefore only play a few mini-games, then your chances of more Pokemon appearing next time are lowered from what I've noticed.

So if you enter the forest, decide you want nothing there and exit straight away, then you've potentially lost up to 8 Pokemon, which kinda cuts out 8 from about the 30 or so you can encounter (I believe it goes higher than 30, but I've only found around 27). Then if you enter the sky, and decide you only wanna enter the sea, then that kinda cuts out from your total too. So as a result you'll only be able to enter 2 more areas, assuming you'll have the chances of getting about 8 from those areas each time.

...in other words, when you're at about 30 Pokemon, they'll stop appearing and your time will be up as long as you befriend everything you see. :3

And same goes for items too which I noticed, when you don't find Pokemon, items are generally there as fillers and are usually found often when you know you're at the end of your encountering :x

Battling Audino from shaking grass well help very majorly with this as well. I'd also say to go in with the EXP. Share until it's a high enough level to battle other Pokémon/trainers without fainting very quickly, and afterward go in with the Lucky Egg.

Any good places to train if my team is levels 56-59, I've beaten the first round of the Elite Four/N/Ghetsis? I'm currently at Route 15 to the right of Black City, the wild pokes are levels 48-50, I get around ~1000-2000 exp with the Lucky Egg, and in the thick/double battle grass they are levels 50-60.

Generally, all Pokemon that appear post-game in any area are on the same level caps. I usually use the Giant Chasm.

Filling out the pokedex question...(NOOB here) :)

Hey guys sorry if this question was asked somewhere else, I tried searching but couldn't really find anything really related to it. As for completing the pokedex, should I collect the pokemon as I go or should I just worry about catching them after I complete the main story? Some places I have read suggest either/or so I wasn't for sure which would be the wisest route. Thanks!

Oryx July 11th, 2011 7:25 PM

If I were you I would just collect them as I see them, and then fill in the gaps after the game is over. Don't stop in every route to catch every Pokemon, but always have some Pokeballs handy in case you run into something you've never seen. Then when you're done with the game, all you'll have to do is evolve some Pokemon and catch a few others.

How events work?

Hey guys, so how exactly would events work if I mainly can only do Global Link/Wi-fi for my connections. Also how exactly do events work? I checked on Serrebi and I still couldn't really make sense of their descriptions. :) Events are new to me so I am just wondering what if any I could be involved in? Thanks guys!

dreyko July 13th, 2011 7:48 PM

some events take place at game stores like Gamestop, where they will distribute the event pokemon to you, and they will usually help you out and give instructions. other events like the Victini event usually involve mystery gift where you download an item via wi-fi and then use that item to get the event pokemon.

hope this helps a little =)

Jeikobu July 13th, 2011 7:51 PM

I'm having trouble with the Dream World and High Link (Entralink). I was on Dream World last night and had two Pokemon on my friend board in my house (one was my birthday Togekiss and the other I befriended and confirmed at the Tree of Dreams), and when I tried to go back into the forest it even said I needed to first go to High Link to tend to the Pokemon I sent. Then today I went to High Link to retrieve the Pokemon and berry I sent and the boy wasn't at the entrance to High Link's forest, and when I went into the forest I checked every area and there were no Pokemon at all. What gives?

dreyko July 13th, 2011 7:57 PM

when sending pokemon from dream world to the entralink you have to make sure that the pokemon you want to send is selected and confirmed at the tree of dreams. once you send it you have to go to the entree forrest, which is in the entralink in the upper section. once your there you can catch it.

hope this helps a little =)

Nope. :x The only thing coming is the Pikachu C-Gear download (or Pokedex? Pretty sure it's C-Gear) and they also updated the amount of dream pals you can have, as well as added another berry row... other than that, no, sadly no new Pokemon are available. :(

(That is excluding the DW Cafe with a few new Pokemon only for Japanese versions, and if so you'd see something about it on the side information on the PGL site).

Depends on which HMs you need. Carracosta can learn Surf, Strength, Waterfall and Dive. Swanna can learn Surf, Fly and Dive. Simipour can learn all the water HMs and also Cut.
Hope that's helpful.

I know this has been asked a lot, but I'm in a bind with the White Forest. I got there and there's no tall grass or water, and only about three people. I have about 200 hours on my game, so obviously I took a while to get there, and from what I hear that probably is the big reason why there's no grass left. Also, from what I hear, the only way to get it to come back is to sync with someone who has the Black version and use High Link to go to their Black City. The problem is, I don't know anyone who plays Black. This is a real inconvenience. Isn't there anyway to get around this other than waiting until I meet someone IRL who plays Pokemon Black?

Unfortunately, no. The only way to get people, and therefore grass, is to link up with someone irl who has Black and talk to people from their Black City.

Chatter's extra function was to show us the new microphone function on the DS. You record a voice, and the louder it is, the higher the % chance Chatter will confuse. In battle, the voice is heavily distorted; however, since there's a chance that you can still send profanities through Wi-Fi, it's banned. There's also the hassle of transferring the recorded sound too.

They were met in another game set in a different time period, and travelled to your game, so they had to travel to time to make it into that game.

All you need to do is click on the berry sprites when you're at your Dream Garden and then it'll automatically water them for you. :3 And you'll never run out of water for your own berries either, so that's a good thing!

But this is pretty much just what I've been doing and it simply wouldn't work D:

Ho-Oh July 17th, 2011 5:04 AM

Really? o_O Actually, your berries might've already been watered by someone else, in which case they aren't clickable. If they have dark-coloured soil, then yeah that's why. :x

If not, do any error messages pop up?

Flareen July 17th, 2011 5:06 AM

Hm. I've just planted them. Perhaps they can't be watered right after planting? D:
You said something about the soil being dark... i suppose there are conditions when you can water then? @[email protected]

Ho-Oh July 17th, 2011 5:13 AM

Ooh yeah, no wonder (I probably should've asked that first :x). They're automatically watered as soon as you plant them. By your next Dream World visit you should be able to water them if they're berries that take longer than a day to grow. If not, then they should be able to produce 5 berries (only for the ones that take a day) without you needing to do anything further. :)

Also as a note, darker soil = already watered, brown soil = needing water and white soil = berries that haven't been watered for a while. And usually in the last case you don't get as much berries as you could possibly be getting if they get watered as soon as they get brown.

Hey guys, quick question -
So today, I was breeding a Porygon with my Ditto in White, I needed one Porygon for a trade with someone. I put my Porygon and Ditto in the day care and run off to the giant bridge and then back. Immediately the daycare worker says "Hey! You have an egg, do you want it?" Well duh. So I take that egg and check my party. I had one egg, so I go inside to talk to the DayCare Women to put my Porygon back in the box, and the lady says "My husbands looking for you,"
Turns out I had ANOTHER egg. I only walked like...five steps to go inside to the lady? I then had 2 eggs.

They both hatched into Porygon's. Has anyone else had this happen?

If I understand this correctly, what you're saying is you put Ditto and Porygon into the Daycare together. You later came back and you received your first egg from the Daycare man. You went inside to take back your Porygon, but the Daycare lady tells you her husband is looking for you. You go outside, and receive your second egg from the man and they both later hatch into Porygon.

If that's what you're saying, then this has actually happened to me a few times before. Not only in Black and White, but in other games too.

Exactly what you said. I guess I didn't make it easy enough to understand. But yes, I was quite surprised, because I've never received two eggs without doing all the work for them

Is there a way to get more friends list spots?

Jeikobu July 18th, 2011 7:52 PM

The Dream World is so limiting. I figured it wouldn't get worse than only be allotted an hour a day to use it, but then I find it has to be at least 24 hours, rather than just waiting until the clock strikes midnight. And of course, I can only make one "wish" at the Dream Tree per day, so I can only send one Pokemon to High Link (Entralink) per day. Now I find I can only search for items and Pokemon so much before they just disappear for the rest of that day (I go into the forest until I'm where proceeding further would bring me to the tree, then I leave and come back so I can start the search over, but I still get save what I had found so far, but I discovered that if I do this enough when I go back there's nothing there anymore, until 24 hours from now presumably). Isn't there a way to get around all these limitations?

Not... really. The best way you can do that really is go right through to the end (befriending everything you see), aka go to the 9 areas and once it takes you to the tree of dreams, click "go home" in the top left corner and it'll take you back to your home, and you can then return to the island to do it all over again, 'cause from the sounds of it, you may be skipping Pokemon and leaving half-way, which kinda limits your chances of finding more Pokemon and items. :x

But yeah technically there's no way to get around any of that except just maximising the amount of Pokemon you can find by exploring the forest etc completely. :(

I assume you mean Pal Pad? If so, no, you can only add the 32 people and that's all. :( On the plus side you can delete them though, which makes it a bit easier but it's stupid considering even in-game it promotes you can get a master ball through 50 trades yet the game doesn't even allow that space >__>

I have a extremespeed Dragonite, Adamant nature and I was wondering about a good moveset for it. I am also not sure if I should just completely swap it out for salamence or garchomp if its that inferior. My pokemon team is made up of quite slow pokemon: Metagross, Blaziken (speed boost), Tyranitar Torterra, and Blastoise, so I was wondering if I should swap some out. I was thinking to swap Blastoise for Starmie and Torterra for Venusaur or Sceptile. Is this a good idea for a good team?

Well if you're going to playing competitively, Garchomp and Blaziken are banned.

Dragonite is only good now if it has Multi-Scale. But replacing Blastoise with Starmie isn't a bad idea, but for a better Pokemon replace it with Swampert, who is really bulky and can fight back. Venusaur is only good this generation with it's DW Ability, and the Sun for support which your team does not have. Instead of using Sceptile and Venusaur go for Breloom. If you're looking for team advice, heading over to the CBC would be good.

It would be best to go and goolge tutorials for them. This thread is for questions related to Pokemon Black and White.

If Google doesn't give you anything useful, try using the spriting tutorial thread :)

Ok, stressed with some Dream World stuff. I befriend several Pokemon in an hour's playing time, and of course choose one at the Dream Tree. However, the next day when I return the other ones I befriended are all gone. Does this have to do with the message it gives when I try to disconnect from the Dream World, where it gives two different exiting options? Since I use it in Japanese and I'm not fluent, I don't entirely understand the difference between the two, but I know it seems the first option involves waking your sleeping Pokemon up, and the involves not doing so, but the second makes it sound like if I choose that option, I won't be able to return to Dream Island again until I do wake it up.

Long story short, how do I do it so the Pokemon I didn't choose at the Dream Tree one time remain for the next time I go?

When you leave Dream World, all the Pokemon at the tree that you didn't pick return to the forest. You'll just have to find them again. There's no way to send more than one Pokemon back to your game, either.

The only way for the Pokémon to remain at the Dream Tree is to not choose one. The exiting options don't matter. You get to choose one of the Pokémon at the tree to keep and the rest will disappear. I don't believe there's any way around it.

Jeikobu July 19th, 2011 10:30 PM

The limitations I'm discovering just seem to increase all the time. So then I guess there's no point in befriending more than one Pokemon per day. It seems that though we are alloted an hour a day, there's barely enough to do to last 10 minutes in one day because of all the handicaps.

You can't bring more than one back with you, but you get points for completing the games which give you access to new areas and new Pokemon in those areas, as well as new berry rows, so there is a point to playing the game of a Pokemon that you don't want.

Gymnotide July 20th, 2011 12:56 AM

Each Pokemon you successfully befriend allots you Dream Points, which will in turn serve you to unlock more Pokemon per area, new areas, new items, Diglett visits in your garden, potential level-up for the sleeping Pokemon, and... Bragging rights. So, it's good to befriend as many Pokemon as possible.

Plus, if you befriend multiple of one species, you're able to pick between them. That basically means you'll possibly have the same Pokemon with different moves... Or if you're lucky, you'll land a female on a breed-eligible Pokemon (Dream World abilities can be passed on by the female).

Could anyone tell me where the best place to train and level your Pokemon in White is? I assume its the E4 but is there anywhere else?

Assuming you've already beaten the Elite Four, then I'd try the Challenger's Cave on Route 9. They're filled with a variety of high-leveled Pokémon and trainers. If you carry the Lucky Egg and Exp. Share with you, then you should be able to level up pretty quickly.

Can I rearrange my decor in my Dream World house? All the stuff I've added so far has been bunched up to the far left of the room.

There's a redecorate button in the upper-left menu. You can also use that to place furniture in the other sectors of your room (I believe there are 3 walls).

If you catch a wild Pokemon (for instance a lvl49 Patrat) will it have any EV points on its stats already or will all stats have 0 EV?

Level 59 Patrat whaaaat

They'll always have 0 EVs, there's no such thing as an EV trained Pokemon that you didn't train yourself or receive from another real person (not NPC) in a trade.
