The Snarl Zoroark event is happening at Toys R Us. I think you've mixed up the Pokémon, but Nintendo is giving out a Halloween Banette in the October issue of their "Nintendo Power" magazine. There's a password/code you receive from the magazine and you can get a Banette from that.

I need this question resolved before September ends. A couple of days ago I asked how do you get that Birthday Togekiss. I was told to Check the E-Z mail but it stays at 0%. I left it on for 2 days to see if it was just lagging but it stood at 0%. Is there anyway to make it load. I don't want to wait until next September to get my Togekiss. I noticed the Promotions isn't loading either.

For me, the Black and White servers are down at the moment for some unknown reason. Why? I haven't the slightest clue.
However, the promotions and events are not loading up on any of my three NDSs either.

The Mystery Gifts through Nintendo WFC seems to be down as well.

Hey guys.
I caught Kyurem a while back, and just traded him.
I just beat the E4 / Alder today and when I went back to Giant Chasm and went to the little pond, nothing happened!

I was told that they come back after you beat E4??

Oryx September 18th, 2011 3:48 PM

Yeah, it doesn't regenerate. Why would it? It's a legendary, there's only one that crashed into Unova. Unfortunately, you lost your Kyurem. At least you still have the Pokedex entry for it, if you were going for completion. I'm sure the Trade Corner would be helpful if you want a new one though.

No offensive, but why did you trade him in the first place? Second, defeating the Elite Four and the Champion only
allow Legendary Pokemon to respawn if you defeated them or if you had to flee the battle. If you capture it, the flag is checked as caught and the
respawn script will stop. Sorry, but it's gone forever, now. (Unless you get it traded back.)

Toujours is right. I'm sure you can get someone to trade you a new one from the Trade Corner.

Pokemon Dream World Shift

I don't know if its the best place to ask about Dream World....anyway...

Recently, I unlocked a new Dream World Location. Now, I am suppose to have both the Forest and the Windswept Sky right? But I can't seem to find a way to choose one of them in the Dream Bridge. When I go using the Dream Bridge, it automatically sets me in the Windswept Sky. I remember I played yesterday, but it actually set me in the forest :/

Can someone tell me how the operation works? How can I shift between a zone to another. Is it related to the day? Thnx...

It can't really be changed, it's completely random. I find that clicking in random spots sometimes worked but really it's all up to chance, which is annoying. :( Just exit I guess as soon as you enter one area.

Ok, new question just now: I'm trying to get two games, Pokemon Black and White, to connect on the Hi-Link since I want to visit the Black game's Black City in order to make grass patches and water show up in my White game's White Forest. I know these DS's can connect since I just used them to trade Pokemon with each other. Yet, when my characters go to the bridge in Hi-Link, the connection bar is red and even after letting them sit a few minutes, there is no sign of them establishing a connection with each other. I even tried all combinations involving going to different ends of the bridge, but still no success. The only explanation I can think of is in the Black game the character has only just made it to Hiun ("Castellia"?) City for the first time (2 badges), where as in the White I've beaten the story and visited every location, including White Forest. Maybe the Black game character has to visit Black City first?

EDIT: Ok, looks like we can't both be in Hi-Link at the same time. My White guy is in White Forest, and my Black in the Hi-Link. I got through the bridge portal, but there's nothing to do there. I wandered all over and all I can do is talk to the elderly man about missions or go back to my normal world. Plus, I'm worried I may need to have my Black guy in Black City and my White guy in the Hi-Link to make grass appear in my White game's White Forest, but as I said, my Black character is far from unlocking that part of the game. :-/

Could I please get some help with this question? Thanks.

Oryx September 19th, 2011 8:14 PM

Okay, here's how it works. To get into the world of Player 1, Player 1 has to be anywhere on the hexagon part of the map, any of those towns, not in the Entralink but not in the first few towns either. Doesn't matter where, although situating them close to the Black City/White Forest makes it easier. Player 2 goes into Entralink and goes across the bridge. They pick a mission, usually one with a long time limit or none at all, and it teleports them to the town or area where the other player is, or near it. Then Player 2 ignores the mission and goes to the Black City/White Forest, talks to people, and gets them to come over.

Is that clear? :3

So I wanna ask for tips or suggestions. I can't beat the Elite 4 in White.. and it's super frustrating. I'm so underlevelled and I grind but I keep switching pokemon because I don't know which ones will end up good I wanna evolve them too and by the time I level them up to around 40 I feel like they end up crummy and it's just so rage inducing.. :C There is no good grinding spot.

Forgive me for not being totally good with the names.. I nickname all my pokemon so I tend to forget their real names:
My good ones are my Dar-something (Red chicken-monkey thing with gorrilla arms.. fire type)
Snivy-evolvedform (my highest levelled pokemon at level 55ish)
The birdpheastant one.. Unfeasant?

:/ I just noticed my good ones seem to be all attack-powered guys..

I feel like I should just somewhat EV train something with a decent nature (anything that wont make it bad) like a jellicent (because my turtle carracosta or whatever sucks bigtime) so at least I wont have to grind it all the way to level 70 for it to stand a chance..

Or.. what should I do? :C I hear litwick is good.. maybe I'll half ev train that one..? Like.. I dunno.. I wish there was a good grinding spot in B/W..

>_> Blargh..

ALSO! One time when I traded a green-mitosis thingy for the goth girl.. ._. the gothica or whatever didn't show up in my PC but my greenie was gone. Do you guys know what happened there? Did I get gypped? Nothing went wrong when it was saving or anything.. so it's confusing .___. I traded with someone in Korea that I didn't know with that trade center thingy .__________.
Ugh I'm sorry, I'm such a casual gamer I am terrible at names ;___; But please help if you can offer any suggestions!

hey in nimbasa city the two stadiums will have 8 trainers in each who you can battle once everyday they have level 65 pokemon bt you should be able to level up also, on the route above undella town there is a guy in a black suite too the left of a lady with a parasol, once a day you can get an item off him for free and one of the items you can gt is another lucky egg (if your lucky that he gives it you on that day) and the routes around undella town and undella bay the pokemon there are high levels which you can grind against.

hop i helped :)

Zelda September 20th, 2011 5:12 PM

To add on if anything...

Red chicken-monkey thing with gorilla arms = Darmanitan
Snivy's evolved form = Servine
Birdpheastant = Sigilyphhttp://www.serebii.net/pokedex-bw/icon/561.png? If not, Mandibuzz? http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-bw/icon/630.png
Green mitosis = Solosis (or its evolutions)

I enjoyed reading the struggle you had to describe these Pokémon. XD

I'm not sure what happened there, you should have received the Gothica. o_o Did you try double checking your PC boxes/did your Solosis really go through?

As for your team, Jellicent is actually a really great Pokémon to use. I say go for it, as it definitely has a good chance of helping you through the Elite Four if you're looking for Pokémon to have some power in Special Attack. Litwick isn't a bad choice either, and of course you should evolve it into its last evolution, Chandelure.

Honestly I completely forgot about those stadiums! That does help, thank you!! @[email protected] I just was battling in the trainer house in the dragon town but there were only 2 people there that you could battle with ;_;

So yes! It does help a ton!

Honestly, it kinda surprises me how I ended up with such low-levels at this point of the game. I just opened my DS soo..

Unfezant level 48 **
Serperior level 50**
druddigon (bold) level 34
Ducklett level 28 ._.

Also.. um.. I remember like in pearl there are like berries that reverse if you got EV points.. is there something like that in B/W? .__. Just cause I don't remember if I gave my Deino enough attack-evs (halfway through I just started battling randomly in tall grass.. soo... .___.;;

Trust me, I like.. quadrupledmillion checked. Where my solosis was there was just a blank space. I didn't have him anymore.. and the gothica was nowhere to be found. I thought maybe whoever I traded with pulled something on me. It was my first time trading that way before (I like trading for nicknamed pokemon that aren't gamesharked) but that incident got me so confused I didn't want to do it again.
.__. It's yeah.. it's not in my boxes or anything. Nothing.. but in my dex it says I have it =_= Weirdest ever!!!

So both players have to be at least so far in the game, like Raimon City (the place with the 4th gym leader) where I assume the "hexagon" begins?

How do I get a Birthday Togekiss? I went to my Trainer Club account, got the message and went to PGL. But nada. No Togekiss. The instruction isn't that very informative. Can I at least know what I'm doing wrong here? x_X

How could I forget Unfezant. :S

I actually found Ducklett's evo, Swanna, really helpful to me for the Elite Four. If you continue to level it up, it definitely becomes more useful when evolved.

The only way you can get those berries are via the Dream World, since there are no berries whatsover to be found in the game.

Huh, that is so strange. The GTS is so messed up to me. :(

Scrafty is a really good physical attacker and both its base defense/sp. def is high, so I'm pretty sure it'll help you get through the Elite Four as well.

hey i used a jolly druddigon which i EV trained for the elite four and it help me out alot, scrafty is really good physical attacker as well as good defensive stats which i would highly recommend, carracosta i used for one of my run throughs n it was really slow and basically if it ddnt hav sturdy i would have died every time i used it

what types are you lookin to use for your team?

Kura September 21st, 2011 11:37 AM

I don't know if I really have types.. I just want something that'll be effective in beating them .__.

Anyways.. I just realized I had an amazing Solosis in my box (Quiet nature) and it's special attack stat is through the roof! Its speed is terrible.. but if I can EV train it into a trick-roomer then I can win hardcore *_*

Anyways.. thanks for the tips guys!

Back up bw Save Data

What is the easiest/fastest way to back up Pokemon Black/white save data (on a computer or other device) in case something should happen to your game?

I've had some horror stories regarding my other games and this has really been something I wanted to do for a long time.

Thanks! And I'm sorry if this does not belong here, just please point me in the right direction :P

So thatd be after the elite 4, yes? lol..

Anyways.. sorry to keep asking.. but this is crazy. I had 8 boxes in my PC for the longest time. NOW suddenly I have 16!!! What just happened?! Is it because I went to the dream world for the first time? o___o I can't think of anything else I might've done..

.. Never mind found my answer:

This system can be enhanced by simply putting a Pokémon in each of the boxes. Once you have at least one Pokémon in each of the 8 boxes, when you next access the PC, you will suddenly have a further 8 boxes bringing the total up to 16 so you can store 480 Pokémon. To increase it once again, place a Pokémon in each of these boxes and you'll get the final upgrade up to 24 boxes capable of holding 720 Pokémon. This allows you to store at least one of each Pokémon with plenty of room for extras.

Leaving it here for anyone else who's wondering..

Once you put at least one Pokemon in each box, it expands to 16 boxes, since 8 isn't nearly enough for National Dex. It does that once more once you have one in each of those, for a total of 24 boxes.

I would like to ask a Gen III/IV/V question, and since it involves my White version I will post it here.

How do you teach both Stealth Rock (Gen IV TM) & Pursuit to Tyranitar?

It's a big problem for my strategy since the Pokemon that can learn Pursuit and those that can learn Stealth Rock are totally different. Is it still possible to teach both moves?

From what I see, you can get a Cranidos or Rampardos from D/P/Pt, teach it Stealth Rock by TM, let it learn Pursuit by level up, and then you can breed it onto a Tyranitar.

If I give the first pokemon in my party a macho brace and then give another pokemon in my party exp. share.. will that second pokemon get the double EVs as well? Or does the doubled EVs only apply to the macho-holder?

Nope, as far as I know, it only effects the holder.

In Nimbasa City, and to the left of it, there are people that will give you some props. In the Musical, when you participate, the fans outside will also give you props (if you win, even more so; you know you won if your Pokémon is jumping on the picture). On your birthday, the man up the stairs in the Musical, will give you a prop too, and when you have won about 5-10 musicals, he will give you another one. I think you can get up to 95 props in the Musical / Nimbasa and around it, and the other 5 are obtained in Opelucid. In one of the buildings, there is a man that will give you a prop each day.

There are 100 props in total, and when you obtained them all, your trainercard will get an upgrade!

You can only get 4 in Opelucid City and you get the last one by participating in a musical with another game and by talking to the man in Nimbasa.

Or if I confuse you.

I can confirm that jumping is the sign that you've won, not sure about the guy talking to you last. I would just go with the picture.

No unfortunately, you can only have one Black and one White ever registered to an account. The code transmits if it's Black or White so you can't register a Black game to a White slot I don't believe. You have to make a new account if you want to register two of the same game or restart, unfortunately. :(

I'm sure this is a frequently asked question, but

OK so my White Forest has no people in it at all. It's kind of boring. I know in order to get people there, I need to do entralink with someone using black, but the problem is I don't know anyone with black. So... I'm kind of stuck and don't know what to do.

The other question I have is I DO have a copy of black, but I have not played it and I do not plan to until I get bored of White. If I don't wanna get screwed over like I did in white, how do I make sure that I get people there? Does it go by how many hours you have played the game until you get to Black City, or does it go by the date you started the journey? Either way, I like to take my time when playing Pokemon so I'm afraid I won't get there fast enough and be stuck with a dead Black City.

hey you need to go to black city and talk to the people there and when they ask to come to white forest they will appear on your game in your white forest after you have said yes and returned to your game

If I remember correctly it goes by date. I started my game, took 55 hours to get to White Forest, and had a few people there. My boyfriend got to his in about 20 and had no one, cause he started before me and didn't play much. Kinda sucks because that means you'll have to not take your time, but that's how it works iirc. :(

I'm not sure, it might be true because I read that as well, but you can be a 100% sure if your Pokémon is jumping in the picture, that's what I would rely on.

Also, this is not related to the date or how much time you've spent in the game (thank god lol otherwise I'd never get it). It's the same with White Forest, only the other way around. To get people in your Black City, you need to visit someone elses White Forest and talk to the people there. Some of them will decide to migrate to your Black City. It's true however that in the beginning, there are already people in your Black City/White Forest, but they will move away since you can't come there yet, so that part is related to how much time you spent. Also, when you've got people in your Black City/White Forest, this means that if you don't visit it enough, they will move away again.

Question involving dreamworld

I'm sort of in a situation where I don't know what to do. You see I've recently been trying the dram world just so I can get some nice abilities on pokemon whiledodging doing any of that corny little kid decoration, farming and sharing stuff. In particular I want one of the dragonite evolution line because its new ability actualy is realy nice.

Problem is I go the the dream island place (which only lets me in once a day =/) and it's just not showing up. how do I get the pokemon I want to show up? I only find about 2 or 3 every run and frequently they aren't extrordinaraly good.

Is there something I can do to get better finds? any tips?

Oryx September 24th, 2011 12:29 PM

To get to the best Pokemon in the Dream World, you need Dream Points. To get the points, you have to play with Pokemon and farm berries (which aren't useless if you get the good ones, those are EV reducing berries and the only way you can get them). As you can see here, you need 10,000 points to get a Dratini, which means you'll probably want to make friends, plant berries, etc to up the Dream Points you get every time. If you do everything possible you can get around 500 points every day, so that's 20 days of spending the entire hour doing everything to get to a Dratini.

So I've got a Thundurus and Tornadus, both of them are traded and the Thundurus in my game is still roaming. I like to do everything in a more simple way, so is it alright if I just kill the roaming Thundurus so that I can get to Landorus?

It's five whistle blasts, I can't tell you how long it is between whistle blasts though. And no, battles don't run down the timer.

I thiiink that one of them has to be from your game, but someone else should confirm this.

Nope, not at all. I believe that even if the Pokémon is fainted, it doesn't matter.

Thanks!

What's the difference between Assurance (ダメおし) and Payback (しっぺがえし)? Looking at Bulbapedia, it seems they both involve doubling the damage if the user is hit in the same turn. I was thinking about using this move, but first I need to know I can make use of its doubling power effect regularly.

Also, I'm not understanding how "Physical" and "Special" types of moves affect a Pokemon's move power. What I mean is, I always thought Psychic moves, for example, were always only based on the user's Special Attack stat, and that Attack had no relation to those moves. However, if it's a Physical move, wouldn't that mean it'd apply to the Attack stat instead of to the Special Attack stat even though the type of move is Psychic? I found out not long ago how Dragon moves depend on whether it's Physical or Special, but now I'm wondering if all moves are that way.

Only going to reply to the second part, sorry.

Well, prior to generation 4, all psychic attacks were special, but not it relies specifically on the attack itself. So if you were to use Zen Headbutt, a physical psychic attack, the power would come from its attack stat, rather than its special attack stat, while if you used Psyshock, while it is special in nature, it actually uses the opponent's defense stat to determine the power, which is an advantage if they're fighting a special attacker, which usually invests in special defense and therefore an attack attacking their defense would be stronger, if that makes sense. In other words, yes it based upon the attack entirely and not the type.

Healer ability has a 30% to work.
Any other abilities with a 30% success (other than Serene Grace) so I can know how lame Healer is, versus thinking it lame?

I'll answer the first bit then.

Assurance will do double damage if the target of the move has already been damaged that turn. This commonly happens in double battles, where your other Pokemon may hit the opponents and then you use Assurance on the same Pokemon to get the boost. Payback does double damage if you attack after the opponent.

For those who got a Pokerus

Hey, I just wanted to ask those people who knows about the Pokerus.
In Black and White, is there a hint to know whether a Pokemon has one in the Wild? For example, can the music turn into the rare wild Pokemon battle instead of normal. Just asking :nervous:

Unfortunately, there's no way on knowing if a wild Pokemon has Pokerus or not during battle. The only way to determine if it has Pokerus is to catch the Pokemon or defeat it in battle.

I just ran into a normal Pokemon into a normal grass, and the music...changed to the rare pokemon battle...weird...that Pokemons was normal, and the second time I found him in the same place, the music turned normal X_X
Is it normal?

The only thing I can think of is that you either saw it in shaking grass, misheard the music, or it was shiny, but I'm not sure the music for those because my music is always muted.

lol, this what I am certain of:

-It was @ Route 16
-Walking on the Normal Grass Patches (Not Dark)
-The Pokemon was a random Gothita or whatever you call it.
-IT WAS NOT SHINY, I was battling that thing so believe me, I know a SHINY when I see one.

-I swear by the only Arceus that the Music was different, I was shocked myself.

All I can say is that it was some sort of Glitch/Bug...

How was the music different? Did some parts of the music fade in and out at times? Because if it does, that's what happens to me sometimes.

You do know that there are 2 soundtracks when Battling wild Pokemons. The first one is the normal one you hear every time. And the second one is some sort of remix and it appears only when RARE wild Pokemons appear. Pokemons such as Audion for example. For a normal Pokemon, I got the 2nd RARE wild Pokemon Music.

I have a question and I really am not good at keeping track of threads, so if someone could pleaseeeee pm me the answer i would be super grateful :)
first of all, i dont understand how black city works. the first time i visited there, there was a mall, and two little green houses you could go into. this was there for a long time afterwards, until i beat alder. after that, i went back and the mall was gone, but the people around the city and the two houses were still there. i cam back today, and everything was gone, except for one person and the blue tall buildings in the back, except some of the blue tall buildings got smaller. i also heard that you can buy evolution stones in black city, but even with the mall, i couldn't. can someone pleaseee explain to me why the buildings disappeared, how i can get them back, and how i can get evolution stones in black sity? Thanks so so so much in advance :)

Yeah, only thing I can think of was a bug. I've heard of quite a few bugs that happen at random in BW, so it doesn't surprise me too much.

Ack, they've made this so confusing. This means I need to look up every move online before I know if I want my given Pokemon to have it.

I guess this was probably asked before, but I can't really find anything in this thread..

Are there similar limitations to evolving Pokémon of other Generations in B/W like in FR/LG?

For example, if I got a Sentret right at the start of the game, would it evolve to Furret at Level 15?

In single battles, Assurance will only work in very specific situations I believe. For example, if someone switches their Pokemon and they get hit by spikes or stealth rock (lol competitive), then assurance will do double damage. Or if the other Pokemon attacks first and uses a move that causes recoil. Or if they attack you and you have something such as a Rocky Helmet or Rough Skin. But anyway it would be hard to find a use for Assurance in single battles since it's so specific.

I don't believe there are any limitations, the number would just show as ???. However keep in mind that you can't transfer one from D/P, you'd have to get it from the Dream World or trade it from a B/W game that has it already.

No there are no limitations. I have a tentacool that I evolved into a Tentacruel and I don't have the National Dex yet.

Are there any other diving areas in BW besides the "Abyssal" Ruins? It seems kind of lame to only have one area for diving, and besides, since it seems we can't find any Pokemon down there, what's the purpose of having Dive Balls if there isn't another place?

EDIT: Two more questions. For both of these, I've really wanted to be able to find it myself, but having gone through basically the whole game besides rematching the Shitennou ("Elite Four" in US), I don't believe I've found any leads on these.

1) I don't know how to crack the password for the scientist in the Game Freak (I think) tower in Hiun ("Castellia"?) City. Is there a hint somewhere, or do I seriously have to try every possible combo until I get it right?

2) What's with the seemingly depressed woman in the trailer in Bewilder ("Lostlorn") Forest? I talk to her and she just says, "......" I've been trying to figure out how to cheer her up, if possible.
EDIT: Ok, I figured this out, but now what I'd like to know is, since I couldn't experience this myself in the game, is there a video or at least a picture where I could see what the entire Bewilder Forest looks like after Zoroark is discovered?

There's no other diving areas, no. Dive was only put into use there. :( As for Dive Balls, probably for cross-capability between B/W and future R/S remakes, but I'm pretty sure there's a way to use them in B/W, just... without using it underwater.

You need to put in:
"EVERYONE HAPPY
SIMPLE CONNECTION"
...which basically unlocks the Relocator, allowing you to transfer Celebi and the legendary shiny beasts.

As for how the forest changes, it doesn't... really change, it just looks bigger, but I'm sure people have Let's Plays of this on Youtube, so you could try there.

There is a woman, she's inside one of the houses. She tells you either that your Pokemon put in "a lot of effort", or that it "could try harder".

You can get a Vulpix with Drought in the forest area of the Dream World after getting 10,000 points. It's been available since the start, so that shouldn't give you any problem. If you are having a problem, check for Sky Drop on your Pokemon, or Chatter, and if you don't have either of those, list your Pokemon here and we'll see if we can help you out.

Honestly

I have some hacked in Pokemons through AR since I can't get my older pokemons from platinum via an emulator. The first 1 was infernape. I EV trained him and he has some max IVs. I didn't have any trouble with him online. Today, I hacked in a Charmander and Magmortar+ the Drought Ninetales. I am pretty sure one of them or all of them are the one who gave me the issue. Honestly, the reason I hacked them in is because of a friend of mine...long story, but I don't intend to use them in official online battles.

I'll leave you with the Info of the Pokemons:

-Charmander: Hacked in @lvl 10, like any hacked pkmn, i caught him in grass. I EV trained him for spA and Speed. he is @lvl 100 now.

-Ninetales: Hacked in @lvl 90 with Drought, EV trained for Speed and partially spA for now. Some maxed out IVs.

-Magmortar: Hacked in @lvl 100! Normal Ability, Maxed EV @ HP AND spA.

Could hacking them at a high level give me trouble like that? Please note that my Infernape never had trouble and nor did my garchomp.... that's probably because I trained them fairly from scratch when they were a Chimchar and Gible..

If u need any other info, Just tell me...

I think your answer wasn't answered because since you requested PM, everyone assumed someone else had done it. Maybe next time you just check the thread? :P

As far as your question, the trainers in Black City go away if you don't talk to them pretty much every day, and with them goes the stores and buildings. If you want to get more people, the only way is to find someone (in real life, not online) with White version, use the Entralink to go into their game, and talk to the people in their White Forest and some of them will come back with you to your Black City.

As far as the evolutionary stones, what is sold there depends on what residents you have there, each person gives you different items to buy. You need Karenna for the Leaf Stone, Ralph for the Water Stone, and Vincent for the Fire Stone, for example. For a full list check Bulbapedia.

Musharna September 28th, 2011 10:47 PM

They are just being trolls. Just disregard all of them, they are impossible to get.

Man I use this thread a lot XD Thanks for all the answers guys!

I'm checking the IVs of my Pokemon using this and I'd like to ask what does it mean if it says "possible IVs 0-31"? I know 31 is the best and what people want for their Pokemon, but does that mean it can be anything from 0 to 31?

Also, for one of my Pokes it said in stat "31-31". Does this mean it deffinitely has 31 IV on that stat?

IVs are so complicated...

The Minimum IVs in each stat is 0 and the Maximum IVs is 31. if it says 31-31 its definitely 31, this can be confirmed by looking at the pokemons Characteristic. However if it says 0-31 it is likely that your pokemon is not at a high enough Lv for its exact IVs to be accurate.

In Nimbasa City, in the Battle Subway there is an Ace Trainer that checks you Pokemon and tells you what its strongest stat is and tells you its potential. You don't need to fill out the section though, it's not required.

Will a pokemon left at the daycare still forget moves if it is Lv. 100?

It only forgets moves if it learns a new move to replace it. It only learns moves from leveling in the Daycare. At level 100, it doesn't level. So no, it won't forget anything. :3

Moltres Rider September 30th, 2011 2:10 PM

why is it that when I progress though the areas that you unlock after beating Ghetsis, the same higher level Pokemon don't give you as much experience?
for example a level 47 Kangaskhan is only giving me 700 exp verses the 3800 exp when I fought a level 47 Kangaskhan the first time

The experience you get changes based on what level your Pokemon is at. It's a new system called diminishing returns that was introduced in this game.

why do they need that? it's kinda stupid if you ask me... and by the way are you sure that's what it's called? nothing relevant comes up on Google when searching "diminishing Returns"

That's because the term means more than something in Pokemon, kind of like if you Google "breeding" the first results won't be about Pokemon. The Pokemon system wasn't specifically named that, but that's the idea behind it, the idea of diminishing returns - a weaker Pokemon gets more exp for defeating the same Pokemon because they put more effort into it. If one Pokemon is fighting the same opponent over and over and over, the returns (exp) from each battle diminish. Therefore, diminishing returns.

You'll probably get much better results if you ask in the check my Pokemon thread which is specifically for checking if Pokemon are hacked or not. If you receive an answer here, however, just remember to post there next time.

How exactly is it not working? Are you connected to a router with WEP or WPA access (depending on your DS)? On a side note, the website is running, so it can't be that.

Run us through the steps you used either way and tell us where exactly the issue is and we'll be able to help you better. :) Make sure you've used game sync otherwise you won't be able to do anything. On the other hand, it could be as simple as email verification (though iirc I don't think they do that). Moving to Quick Questions for now anyway while we wait for your explanation.

Oh I think I see the issue. When you put the Pokemon to sleep you go to the global link website and click Dream World over to the far right (make sure you've logged in on the left first) then within the Dream World Fennel basically explains everything to you. Once you're done, just sign out of the Dream World at the top right of the screen and then repeat the normal process to wake your Pokemon up. But yeah, nothing was occurring because you weren't using the site. XD Have fun using the Dream World now though!

JstDTip September 30th, 2011 7:48 PM

Invalid user? I just created an account to test - do you get to the screen where it says you need to confirm via email? And if so, do you get to the Register With Global Link screen? (and have you entered your game sync ID?)

Actually it might be easier to see the issue if you take a screenshot of the point you're at (you can do this by pressing PrtSc for most computers if you didn't know).

And it's fine @ changing usernames.

Because pokemon is now an korean mmo, nintendo wants to make you grind(excessive battling to go up a level) until your fingers bleed.

Just a quick question. How much of B/W would one miss by only watching the anime? I don't own a DS but still wanna learn as much as I can about the new generation.

Lezza October 1st, 2011 7:00 AM

Dream World problem.

I have trouble getting onto Dream World.

Have you logged in on the left side of the Pokemon global link page? Since it doesn't have a remember me box and isn't connected to the main page you need to literally login to that every time, so really you need to login to two pages within the same site. :(

If that's not the issue and you have logged in on the left side, take a screenshot of the Dream World page and we'll see if we can help more from there.

I think you'd learn quite a bit about the new Pokémon, towns and cities just from the anime. The only things you would probably miss are the little details found within the game such as meeting up with your best friends/rivals to battle and stopping the whole Team Plasma and Ghetsis plot (knowing the anime will probably give it a twist, so if you wanted the whole experience of the plot from the in-game, you won't have the best of luck there). You're most likely to find out more about N in the game than they will show how he is in the anime too.

But you have "Who's that Pokémon?" which they brought back in for the anime so you'll be able to catch up on the names of the Pokémon and whatnot. I'm pretty sure the anime will be showing some characters from the game there, so perhaps you'll learn a little about them as well. They have yet to show triple battles and I doubt they will plan on showing rotational battles, so those are also some features you would want to experience in the games than from the anime. :( However I do recommend getting Black or White sometime in the future, and instead of buying a regular DS, I would suggest going with the 3DS since basically all new games are going to come out for that handhold device.
