How do you get to other areas in Dream World? I'm tired of Pleasant Forest...

Once you get enough points by playing with Pokemon, planting/harvesting berries, etc, you'll automatically unlock the next area, the sky iirc. Then when you go to the island of dreams it will pick one randomly to go to every time.

What's your team? Do you have Sky Drop? That's a move that's banned that you wouldn't expect to be due to glitches. If you don't have Sky Drop, post what your team is.

If you have any Gen 5 Pokemon with a Dream World Ability, it won't let you battle with them. None of the Gen 5 Pokemon have Dream World Abilities yet.

Musharna and Darminitan do - but they are the only Pokémon from Gen V that can.

It's displayed as "Hidden Ability", though you literally can't give them the abilities without hacking so I'm sure that isn't a concern. We do need to see your team though, to judge.

Various online sources suggest that the EV-reducing berries are not yet available in B/W other than via Action Replay. Is this true?

They are available throughout Dream World.

How do I get to the area on Route 18 with Battle Girl Hillary and the double grass? There's an item there too. I've played this game a ton of times and STILL have never been down there. ;( I don't have a screenshot to show what I'm talking about, unfortunately. But I mean, I see no stairs, places to Surf to get to it, etc so it's just taunting me.

When you go down the northernmost staircase, surf east to P2 Laboratory. From there, navigate west in between the fast currents. Make sure not to hit any of them. Keep going west and you'll get there.

Well, you could've asked me before using this team, but I'll let it slide...

Hyper Cutter is one of Gliscor's normal abilities (the other is Sand Veil). Gliscor's Hidden/Dream Ability is Poison Heal (Gligar's Hidden/Dream Ability is different; it's Immunity).

You don't get Gliscor with that ability in-game (in-game, you can only encounter Gligar/Gliscor with Sand Veil or Hyper Cutter); Gliscor with Poison Heal can only be obtained as Gligar with Immunity. by playing with the Global Link (Dream World) on Pokemon.com.

Edit: @Toujours: Latios can learn Trick.

I have a question about breeding for shinies via the Masuda Method. Does it still apply if the Ditto is foreign? And do both Pokemon have to be foreign, or just one of them?

Sydian October 21st, 2011 8:57 AM

Only one of them has to be foreign. Most people go with Ditto, since it can breed with almost anything.

Darmanitan is a good fire type Pokemon. With an amazing 145 Base attack and a decent 95 base speed it can blow away most of the in-game teams. It evolved from Darumaka at level 30. This generation wasn't exactly gracious with decent fire-types. Volcarona is good too, but it takes forever to get it. You can get the egg of its pre-evolved form and train it to level 59. The egg is given to you at route 18 just in case you wanted it.

brad08 October 21st, 2011 12:07 PM

You can get a Darumaka in the resort desert, which is in-between Castelia City and Nimbasa.

As for the Moon Stone, when you complete the Pinwheel forest event you'll receive one from Lenora and the others are found in dust clouds in caves. :)

I just want to correct you that Darumaka evolves at Level 35.

Another great fire type that wasn't mentioned is Chandelure. Its has an outstanding 145 special attack, and an awesome ghost typing to add resistances. Litwick can be causet in Celestial Tower and they evolve at lv41 into Lampent which evolve into Chandelure with a Dusk Stone. The main decision being do you have many special or physical attackers on your team, I assume this is just an in-game team.

And a new exp system was added in Pokemon Black and White, it makes you gain more exp if you have a lower level than the opponent and less if you're higher, instead of a constant rate.

Also Darmanitan only has 140 base attack.

He's right, I used a Chandelure in Black (she currently has Will-O-Wisp, Flame Burst, Shadow Ball and Energy Ball) and it was awesome!

Chandelure is great if you want a Special Attacker Fire Pokemon.

Darmanitan if you want to play Physical.

This new experience system makes it much easier, and sometimes necessary, to maintain a whole team of six Pokémon. In fact, it will make training weaker Pokémon a lot easier than in previous generations.
For example, if your Pokémon is level 50, and the opposing Pokémon is level 1, you will only get about 1 experience point. If your Pokémon is level 1, and the opposing Pokémon is level 50, you will get a lot of experience.

Honestly with the storyline, graphics and features put together, it's really a good game. I suggest having a look at things users like or perhaps read over this thread generally for what users overall think. The latter is dead though, so you can't post in it but it should give you a good view of what people thought.

Merging to Quick Questions anyway in order to get more opinions on why you should get the games. :)

Ciax October 21st, 2011 10:47 PM

If you are a fan of pokemon games, definetly get a Gen V game. So far unova is my second favourite region after Hoenn. While there are a few weird pokemon (Klink) there are also some great ones. These games are pretty easy though so if your looking for a hard game you may have too look elsewhere

Hikamaru October 21st, 2011 10:57 PM

Unova has some of my favorite Pokemon, Hilda is my fave female player character, the starters are cool-as (especially Oshawott), the seasons change, the concept of Reshiram and Zekrom resembling Yin and Yang, Cheren is the most awesome rival ever and the environment is amazing!

If you want to enjoy all of this and many more, get Pokemon Black or Pokemon White today!

If you love Black City, battling Drayden, rotation battles, Gothitelle, Mandibuzz, Whimsicott, Tornadus and Reshiram, get Black!

If you love White Forest, battling Iris, triple battles, Reuniclus, Braviary, Lilligant, Thundurus and Zekrom, get White!

my team is different now i have milotic braviary infernape salamence weavile and ________ im thinking of getting a gallade what do you think

wirbinspastic October 23rd, 2011 7:40 PM

I have a litwick with perfect spec attack and speed ivs, modest nature, and hidden power fighting, which I bred easily from a good iv ditto, but its only problem is that its ability is flame body instead of flash fire which most people say to be the best ability for a chandelure. I also have a nearly identical litwick except it has flash fire but no hidden power fighting so i'm wondering which would be better for my team. I plan on having my chandelure scarfed. Thanks

On basically every Chandelure set, you pretty much always need HP Fighting since otherwise you've got no chance against dark types, so the fact that you managed to get HP Fighting on at least one is really good. Flash Fire can be useful for switching into, but Flame Body can still be annoying since burns halve the attack of your opponent and as a result you can kill them easier. As long as you're not facing anything that's a threat just keep CMing over and over (if not then switch out etc).

You could try Virizion, since it can help out against bulky water types you may face since unless the rest of your team has setup attacks, then you'll have a challenge beating things like Quagsire, Gastrodon and Swampert. It's pretty much the same as Terrakion (same speed!) except it has better spDef while Terrakion has better attack - just give Virizion a life orb or something and it should be able to take out them. If not, then for fighting you already have Infernape, but if you want something for Psychic, then try Reuiniclus maybe? It has pretty good special attack (aka can cover a lot with shadow ball/focus blast and psychic) but the only let down is that it's slower. :(

Nope, unless you have the opposite game (if you have White, then Black, and vice versa) since it's one game account to one Dream World account. So basically, if you have Black too, your Black version would connect to that Dream World account, but your White version no longer can. You can make a new Dream World account, though and it'll connect fine.

Nah it won't let you replace it :( It's a stupid system, but hey at least it lets you input the game sync ID of the other version but that isn't really good enough.

Oryx October 25th, 2011 10:05 PM

You can use the same account but you do lose all of your Dream Points and such, unfortunately.

Edit: wow I'm slow. But the PGL help database says that you can request for them to delete your Game Sync ID and register a new one, but you lose your history.

Quote:

Unfortunately, while it is possible to delete the original Game Sync ID, you cannot link the original Pokémon Global Link (PGL) user history to the newly issued Game Sync ID.

In order to delete your Game Sync ID, we would need to confirm your registration. Please provide the following information by submitting a question at support.pokemon.com:
- Trainer Club account username
- PGL nickname
- Registered DOB, starting with the year
- The country you live in
- Current Game Card in use
- Currently registered Game Sync ID

When deletion of the registered Game Sync ID is completed, we will reply to your question. Then please register your new Game Sync ID.

Go to the Global Link site and log in. After you've logged in, make sure it says you have a Pokemon tucked in and that you can play. Next, click on the DW icon. From there you should see a message from Fennel and she will take you into the DW. :)

You can't add certain people as Dream Pals, you have to randomly encounter each other in the Dream World and add each other.

thank you but now ive got a problem with the global link, when i try to get into dream world last night, it had a loading symbol now the screen is blank and i left it like that for an hour or so. Now when i try clicking on promotions all what happens is that it takes me to the promotion page but the screen is also all blank.

I looked at the system requirements and i either have the same or higher and ive tried internet explorer and google chrome.

First off, exactly what did the lady in Nacrene say?

And, for starters, if you trade Pokemon, the traded Pokemon's happiness is reset to their original value. So you'll have to do things like battling, massaging and giving vitamins to raise Chansey's happiness.

Did your Chansey perhaps faint before it levelled up, or perhaps your Chansey wasn't at the front of your party and a different Pokemon has max happiness. Or did you use any of the energy items (energy root, rival herb, etc) on her?

Jeikobu November 1st, 2011 12:10 PM

If I want, can I "trade" a Pokemon to a friend for nothing? It seems like my friend who be required to give a Pokemon in return, but what if I just want to give it for free?

Oryx November 1st, 2011 12:19 PM

If you want to give it for free, just have them catch a Patrat. There's no way to "give" Pokemon between Black and White.

it is November, why is my game still in Summer? it supposed to be Autumn if October was Summer....

Oryx November 2nd, 2011 9:30 AM

When you turn on the game, walk into and out of a building if your DS clock is November 1st and it should change seasons.

About the Victini C-Gear... has anybody worked out the password for it/found it on Pokemon.com? Serebii'll probably have it tomorrow, but I'm impatient.

Moltres Rider November 5th, 2011 11:33 AM

you guys told me that if my Pokémon is jumping in the picture that means I won in the musical... but what about if two Pokémon are jumping the picture, mine and someone else's? what does that mean?

No NPCs coming to my White Forest

I'm having a problem with my pokemon white. My white forest is completely empty due to inactivity. My brother's black city is completely full, when ever I try to recruit people, they would always say they would like to come but none of them actually do. I don't know what the problem is or how to fix it. If anyone could help me that would be great.

bryan_e09 November 7th, 2011 2:46 AM

There is this Item located All the way down from the top of victory road..

I'm on my way to the Pokemon League of Pokemon White. I reached the top of Victory Road and I met this man saying that there is an item down there and if I have the courage to get it.. I saved my game and tried whats down there, I found a TM. its Wild Charge .. and an Ultra ball on the very bottom of it,, well, Is that all the items? or is the scurrying down there worth for the TM and the other items? Please suggest :) It's my first time to play White :D

How do I use the Pokemon Transfer Lab? I tried it once but it's not working. I want to transfer my Pokemon in Diamond version even though the Wi-Fi connection is on but it was not transferring at all. Please help! Thanks!

How old is Touya/Touko supposed to be? All I can find is "Older than other protagonists."

blue November 7th, 2011 2:30 PM

I think they are supposed older than previous characters, around 15 I'd say based upon their appearance.

You'll probably have to try other Black Cities, unfortunately. That's the only solution I can think of, you're doing everything right.

You have to have finished the game and can only do it wirelessly, with two DSes that are within range of each other. You start Poketransfer on the one with B/W, then turn on the DS of the one with Diamond. You then go to the Download Play option on the menu and download the transfer software, then you can transfer them over.

There's no set age, that's all that anyone knows.

I already finished the game and tried it like 2 times already. I have 2 DS with me and Wi-Fi connections were on. That's it! The Download Play thing! How do you download it? Thanks so much! :D

Okay, DS 1 has White in it. DS 2 has Diamond in it.

1. Turn on DS 1, go into White, and go to Poketransfer. Set everything up until you reach the point where you only have to wait for the other game.

2. Turn on DS 2, but don't go into Diamond. Instead choose DS Download Play from the main DS menu.

The rest should be self-explanatory, hopefully.

So, you mean, the Diamond should be inserted in the DS but instead of going to the game itself you have to go to the main DS menu...I got that...But, what if I am using a Wood R4 for my Diamond and not the real DS tape of Diamond? Would that be allowed? Sorry for the many questions. I just like my Pokemons in Diamond and I really like to try it out. Again, thank you! ^_^

I'm not sure if you can if the other game is an R4. I don't have one myself but my boyfriend seems to remember trying and it not working.

Is it possible to RNG with a DSi? If so, how?
I mean, I can't even get started.
The guide on smogon (On the calibration part) says that you have to note the time when you soft reset, but it also says that you have to note the time that you catch the pokémon. Well, I'm confused because we only have one place to put a time and it doesn't say anything, just date and time. To be sure I took notes of everything and introduced both times, but it still couldn't find the seed I hit. Can anybody help me with this step? Please, I'm just stuck here and I'd like to move on :P

I finally connected with a friend and went to that person's Black City to invite people to my White Forest. I talked to everyone I could find. My White Forest now is full of trees, people, grass, and ponds. Yet, I can only find a few different Pokemon in the grass. How do I get the other species to show up?

Well, that's strange because I have brought people to my white forest and it has lots of grass, more people there... And I can find each NPC's pokémon.

Maybe you're just not lucky with the odds?
Talk to the people, maybe that will help.

If I remember my bf RNGing with his DSi correctly, he never had to measure the time he caught a Pokemon, only the time he pressed the "Pokemon Black" on the DS menu (to get your seed I recommend using the menu so you can see down to the second what time it is in your DS). Are you measuring the time on another device? Because if that device isn't synchronized down to the second with your DS, then your seed won't be right. That's why you shouldn't soft reset imo.

Each person has specific Pokemon they can make show up. The only way to get more Pokemon is to get more people, as in find more people with Black and visit their Cities as well.

I was afraid of that. So I habve to meet more people in real life with the Black version? Does that mean that even if I sync up with my one friend again and make sure I have all of my friend's Black City people visit my White Forest, I still won't be able to make any new Pokemon show up unless I sync with more people IRL?

I think it does cos when I was using my Gothitelle to catch one, it inherited her stats when Ditto transformed.

If you get more people with different names from one Black City then you'll get different Pokemon, but you can't get all of them just from one Black City.

"Transform changes the user's current type, current stats, current stat levels, current moves, current species, current cry, and current catch rate to that of the target's...Transform does not copy the target's status ailments, level, current or maximum HP". -Bulbapedia, so theres your answer.

His stats are pretty bad yeah, but like Toujours said, it copies every stat and stat changes of the opponent, except for its HP. Ditto's base HP is 48 though, and if you max out the EV's in that it will be 300 which is pretty decent. And if you Choice Scarf him he would also be able to outspeed his opponent.

I wasn't sure where to ask this question, so hopefully this is the right place. :p

What is the exact definition of a Flawless pokemon? Is it ALWAYS 31 in every IV, or is a pokemon that never uses it's attack stat (strict special sweeper for instance) still considered flawless with something like 31/25/31/31/31/31? And how does hidden power come into play, for instance if I have a Vulpix that's 31/31/31/31/31/30, the best spread for hidden power ice, is that still considered a "flawless HP ice vulpix" or something, or does that automatically make it a "near flawless"?

Sorry, I'm new and trying to learn all the terminology, figured I should ask for specifics somewhere. :)

Flawless means that all 6 stats have an IV of 31. In the case of that Hidden Power Vuplix, say the spread for HP ICE 70, 31/31/31/31/31/30, You'd call it a near-Flawless Pokemon, and make sure to mention somewhere that it has a spread for Hidden Power and isn't flawless, to avoid confusion.

It's possible; the 1/8192 chance of being shiny still applies.

On RNG reporter is has a few options for us to choose about our game. Well, I'm Portuguese, there isn't a Portuguese game, so does it count as an English game?
(the other languages are japanese, korean, german, french, italian and spanish).

I have been trying to calibrate the RNG reporter, I was able to find the seed I hit (a few times, because others it just didn't find a seed and I happened to get different results on the Timer0), but then when I put an IV spread, find a seed, change the ds settings and start the game... (c-gear off), I use sweet scent, catch the pokémon and then I check the IVs and they have nothing to do with what the RNG reporter said. I've actually tried a few times and I haven't had any luck yet. Can somebody help? =D Thanks in advance.

Starting the game! Pokemon Black

Hey Guys!

I bought this game on the day is was released!
But never really got around to playing it til now.

I was told by a friend to save the game just before I pick my starting Pokemon so I can keep resetting until I get a good nature on my starting pokemon!

Well I decided I would like Oshawott or Snivy could do with some advice on who to pick and what nature to try and get on them!

Please can someone help!

Thanks a million!

Ciax November 13th, 2011 11:41 PM

If your looking for an easier run through go with Osawott, Snivy is a bit more defensive, less offensive. Nature wise Samurott does well with an adamant nature. He has more variety in pysical moves. But he can use a modest nature for special atttack if you want.

But you don't have to worry about what nature you have for in-game purposes, any nature will get you though easily enough. So don't worry too much about what natures you have.

Hello! Can you suggest a good ingame moveset for this Pokemons:

Stoutland
Zebstrika
Swoobat
Conkeldurr
Ferrothorn.

I cannot seem to post a new thread in the ingame team help.

While the new thread issue will be fixed soon within in-game (I hope?), generally you need to state what attacks you already have for people to improve upon them. We just can't create movesets out of thin-air if we don't have a basic idea of what you want :(

(That wouldn't belong within in-game unless you expanded upon that anyway :x).
