I throw my sandwich in the air sometimes, saying ayo, wheres the mayo?

So, are you a picky eater? If you are, for what reasons?

Me, I'm not really, but if it is something I don't normally like, then no, I'm not gonna eat it.

MeerFall March 8th, 2011 11:35 AM

same here it counts on the texture most of the time

ShinyMeowth March 8th, 2011 1:28 PM

I do not eat meat or fruit. Or a bunch of other stuff. Not for any vegetarian/anti-vegetarian reasons, I just don't like those options. I am incredibly picky about my food, and I also am picky about how much I will eat. It is very common for me to return food to my mother due to her not following my instructions of "Do not put a lot in... YES, that IS a lot!".

Sammi March 8th, 2011 2:47 PM

I can get picky with some vegetables. If it's a bit more exotic than I'm used to, I don't want to try it. For a more common vegetable, I don't like the texture of broccoli and avoid it when I can.

I'm also not the biggest fan in the world of mayo and ranch, and I haaaate the smell of vinegar, so if something has a lot of it, I don't want to eat it.

Serperior March 8th, 2011 7:37 PM

I'm really picky... I eat what I like depending on my mood. =p

Arma March 9th, 2011 12:59 AM

I used to be real picky too, but nowadays I eat almost everything. There are still quite a few things I don't like, but I'll eat it anyways (except eggplants, god do I hate the taste of those things). I don't care much about texture.

I started eating a lot more things when I started to cook for myself. I like my food spicy, and I don't like to eat the same thing every day.

Because my parents are from Suriname, I grew up with a lot of things most other people call exotic (crisps made from bananas for example). I always make my friends try the things they've never tasted before.

My motto when it comes down to food:just try it, if you like it, there's more, if you don't, the trashcan's over there You're really pathetic in my eyes if don't even want to taste.

groteske March 9th, 2011 1:02 AM

The only thing I will NOT eat, under any circumstances, is the bits of gristle on meat or poultry (or 'bad parts' as my sister and I so originally call them). Oh yeah, organs aren't really my thing, either. Other than that, it's usually someone's crappy cooking skills than the ingredients.

ETA: I forgot, I can't eat anything with a significant amount of vinegar in it anymore after I drank some straight to pass a drug test. Passed the test but holy hell, NOT worth it. Yanno how you can hold your breath and not taste whatever's in your mouth? Vinegar's an exception.

PlatinumDude March 9th, 2011 1:04 AM

I'm pretty picky about my food because I don't like mushrooms and cucumbers in whatever I eat.

jcsimpson March 9th, 2011 1:12 AM

I stick to the foods I know I like and never try new foods.

why not? There's a first time for everything, even the food you like now. Trying out something new won't kill you, you can always spit out something you don't like, but I'm sure you'll find lots of things you end up loving.

jcsimpson March 9th, 2011 1:39 AM

I will admit that sometimes I will like a new food but most of the time I'd rather not spend my money buying something I might not eat and other times I just feel rude putting something in my mouth and then gagging cause it's terrible. I also hate being let down, my girlfriend made perogies for me and said "They are so good, batter with potatoes and bacon" and maybe it was the specific brand of store bought perogies she bought but they were awful. I was so let down. Batter + Bacon + Potato should = awesome but it tastes like a kick in the pants.

Ah I see, well I thought you were just being childish in your first post, but I understand how you feel. I used to be the same though(I did taste everything though). I was scared of gagging because I wouldn't like it, but somehow that reaction completely disappeared, even though I get served horrible things from people. I guess taking lil bites will help.

groteske March 9th, 2011 2:05 AM

Ah yeah, another I'd forgotten - in case you decide to order fish at a Mexican restaurant - the phrase "whole tilapia" doesn't mean neatly filleted sections of fish whose sum is equivalent to an entire tilapia, which is not a large fish. It means you're getting a gutted fish fried & slapped on a plate. Eyes, scales, and fins included.

..just don't order fish at a Mexican restaurant

Zeffy March 9th, 2011 2:33 AM

I am when it comes to fruits and vegetables. Other than that, I'm not really a picky eater. I'd eat anything that doesn't eat me first.

Pokemon Trainer Touko March 9th, 2011 6:03 AM

So, are you a picky eater?
Yes, I am an incredibly picky eater. I only eat food from the Japanese restaurant close by. XP

If you are, for what reasons?
They make the best sushi ever. XD

RYOUKI March 9th, 2011 10:08 AM

I'm a very picky eater. I don't eat vegetables, and only 3 fruits, any sauces, some bread, some pastries, and lots more.

You know what I eat everyday? Chicken. Yes, I eat THAT everyday. Cause my mom says it's a headache to cook for me. And I don't even eat that sometimes.

DAWJ March 9th, 2011 4:14 PM

So are you a picky eater?
I am kind of a picky eater. I will eat anything, depending on the smell. I don't care if it tastes good; if it smells weird I will not even try it.
If you are, for what reasons?
I often associate smell with taste, so if I like how it smells, I will definitely eat it.

Speed March 9th, 2011 4:41 PM

I'm very picky, I don't even try new foods, and I have no reason to not try them. I wish I wasn't picky, but I just can't eat new foods.

Saryka March 9th, 2011 5:07 PM

I'm not so much picky with what kind of food I like to eat, but I can be quite picky with how I eat certain food. For example, I hate bananas when eaten just like that. Can't stand 'em. Now, make some bread or a smoothie out of 'em, or eat banana-flavoured yogurt or ice cream -- I love it. Sooo much. I don't like pork and I maybe only eat beef twice a year or so, but I eat lots of chicken and fish. I drink soy milk as opposed to regular milk, but I still enjoy regular cheese and yogurt.

That said, I like to try new food. :D

Hybrid Trainer March 9th, 2011 5:52 PM

I depends on the texture for me. i could probably eat blended worms and slugs if it was perfectly smooth xP

Steven March 9th, 2011 6:37 PM

I am not a picky eater.

As long as it doesn't have cheap fish or loaded with Stuffing/sauerkraut I am perfectly fine.

I am willing to try new things too. On Homecomming night, all my friends and I went out to eat at a Chinese Buffet that had mostly Japanese food. I tried squid there. Loved it. Best food ever.

aruchan March 9th, 2011 7:51 PM

I'm not really a picky eater. Years of eating my dad's awful food have taught me that food is food.

Captain Hobo. March 9th, 2011 9:11 PM

Yes, I don't eat it if it doesn't taste good to me.

No matter what other people say about it.
