New PS2
Hi. I made this post to say something about the new thinner PS2. I want to know what's the point of making a new PS2 that's thinner. There is no difference between the two so why make it thinner instead of just dropping it and keep going with the PS3.
|
Well, its just an enancement like the GBASP.But they arent dropping the PS3.
|
The new re-modled PS2 is better than the old one. It's completely smaller. Also, it already has the network adaptor built in, when you buy it.
|
PS3 developement is still going at the moment, so we have nothing to worry about.
As for making it thinner, it's to give us a little enhancement like billybob said. Also, the fact that it has network connections built in is also a plus. |
Well I know the PS3 is still in development but why waste time "enhacing" the old one when they could be focusing on the PS3
|
To sell more PS2s? I really wish my original PS2 hadn’t broken down until they got this one announced. It looks so much nicer. -.- One of my friends is getting one for Christmas, and intends to borrow my games.
|
Becuase it looks cooler and is better for space saving or meybe theres not much of a diff but ohh well its still better.
|
Uh, because it's more practical to have something SMALLER? The Japanese don't have much room since they normally live in small apartments. So smaller is better. Besides, it's easier to carry around with you in case you intend on taking it somewhere. They did the same with the first Playstation.
My only gripe is that there wasn't a price drop. Why the hell would they offer both versions for the same price if there's not gonna be a drop in price? :\ I'd like to be able to buy a PS2 sometime before the PS3 comes out. |
would you just shut up about the complaints dragon masta and worry about different stuff you could be doing other than posting about a new cooler PS2.
|
I think it's completely pointless. Sony has really shined to their full potential to show that they have absolutely no creativity. I mean, its just a smaller system, WOW. I could see if Microsoft did something like this w/ X-Box though. The funny thing is people are buying into it just because it's smaller.

I'm not sure about the system cost-wise, but it could be cheaper to produce than the other PS2 too. |
I hear it may be smaller and have one controller.

And the other PS2 came with a controller too. |
MOST systems do come with a controller the first time around. I was gonna pick one up...but I'd rather save my money for something better. Not much these days though; - -;

Are you talking about the thin PS2.

The SNES is far superior to the NES, with more and better games and graphics and what not. Same with the GBA to the GB, you can't compare the two Brittany... It's a downgrade if anything |

SNES, then the redisgned, smaller SNES GB, then GB Pocket GBA, then SP |

There was a new SNES? Show me some pictures. If you're talking about the difference between the Super Famicon and the SNES, then that's called localization. =p GB Pocket added something, it took less batteries and could fit in a pocket (hence the name, when the original could not. The SP added a back-light, official rechargeable batteries, and better portablility (ability to fold up). If anything, the new PS2 takes away features. You can't use the hard drive with it, making online near impossible since you can't download patches unless you have a brand new memory card with nothing else on it. |
Its just like the redesigned Playstation (PSOne). However there is a differense...I mean its mainly just the looks, but the original PS2 seams more solid and durable...thats all...and for the second PS2 STILL NO FAN!
|
Smaller PS2.
Well there really isn't much difference between the new PS2 and the old PS2.The only diffrence (obviously) is size. Some may say it looks more stylish some don't no matter what you think it's not worth buying a new thinner PS2 just for the look. And if anything may happen to your PS2 then buy a Gamecube!
|
You guys who wasted your money on a new PS2 could always pick up Disgaea. It should run on it just fine. =D
There were two SNES’s, one didn’t have a power light, and was slightly smaller. No eject button either. I have one of each. |
I'm not gonna waste my time buying a thinner PS2. It looks weak as heck too. you should only get it if you don't have one and want one. I'll stick with my original. If they tried to copy GBA and SP, they did a bad job. SP actually had new features, while the new PS2 has only a built in network adapter. WOW! They wasted their time, 100%.
|
Ok i think the PStwo is a good idea. One because if you're like me then the original PS2 you bought years ago is dead. Two it gives me a better excuse to get a Japanese system.
Now I havent read any articles about this system, so I dont know much about the pros and cons... All I know is that I want a system to play my japanese games and that my old PS2 is no-go. So I have two options here, the new PS2 or an old one. Should I buy a new PS2 or just stick with the larger version of it? Does the new PS2's lack of a fan make it not worth the money? Any advice would be well appreciated. |
Wha!? PStwo can't play japanese games! It's the same as the original but smaller with a built in Network Adapter.
|
i'm in japan so uhh....
i'll be buying a JAPANESE pstwo. ^-^ |
I bought the small one (because i didnt have a PS2 )
i think they made the small PS2 is to make a sequil like the first small PSone (i have a small PSone) and i think the small PS2 looks cooler than the big one and I can fit it in my draw because its small:) |
