Are you Materialistic?
Basically the title: are you materialistic?
As for me, I like to have nice things, yes, and I am always thankful to have stuff, but I take and value personal experiences and my loved ones over a hoard of gadgets any day. Besides the necessities, the only "stuff" I feel is important to buy is a proper education. You? |
I would say no. Although, I do require a lot of entertainment, that generally comes in the form of video games. I don't actually collect them, or anything though, I'm just looking for fun, so I don't think it really counts.
|
Well, I'm sort of materialistic because I'm grateful for the things I have.
|
I don't care if my things are nice, I just want them to work. I'll keep an old dusty, paint covered coat because it simply still works.
|
A bit, at least. I like having stuff, and I certainly enjoy buying stuff, too. God knows how much time I spend with my material possessions instead of people... but if I had friends around town 9 times out of 10 I'd rather hang out with them. :( /pathetic
I'm also a pretty simple person when it comes to buying new things; it doesn't have to be the shiniest or the best. Honestly I'm pretty content with cheap as long as it works. |
I am definitely materialistic. I love to buy the most prettiest things out there like Kura mentioned, but I do appreciate the gifts I've been given from my family or my friends, no matter how crappy.
|
Somewhat. I like to have nice things but they don't have to be on the cutting edge. For evidence I present to you my preferences for older American cars and the fact that I still use an old DS Lite.
I might be more materialistic if I had more money and could afford nicer things, but then again, maybe not. It would depend on what it was. |

(Just like someone can be materialistic about clothes and not games and vice versa) That's how I see it. Old or new they're both material things, right? and "Old DS Lite" isn't really that old IMO.. like 5 years old? Heaps old technology-wise.. lol but I get your point. |
Somewhat. I like having nice things and such, but I'm contented with what I have right now.
|
I'am, yes.
I'm a bit of a loner, so I find myself more entertained by possessions, rather than by people. Both are important to me, and even though I'am materialistic, I can drop that in a second if I have to. A.K.A If I were able to sell nearly everything I own to move to California (for example), I would do so pretty fast. It's oddly easy for me to detach myself from things, I just go with the flow, I suppose. |
I'm not materialistic at all, but I do love treating myself to pretty things.
|
I'm materialistic with my clothes lately. Gotta be hip and happening you know what I mean g? Yeah homey you got me.
Otherwise not really, I do take care of and 'cherish' what I have but I'm not materialistic, I don't ask for a lot. |
Honestly? Yeah. I love stuff. I love buying stuff even if I don't really have the money atm. Especially technology; I'm always fascinated by it and love to get the latest toys. I've started becoming more materialistic when it comes to clothing as well, I love buying things that are pretty trendy and well... I just love shopping haha.
|
I'm quite the rabid idealist.
|
I am if I'm not careful. I know from my own experience that almost nothing I buy really satisfies me, but that doesn't keep me from forgetting sometimes like when I have some extra money sitting around. I get the urge to spend money for a quick emotional boost. I've trained myself to resist buying things and that helps, but with the stuff I do have I still get more comfort than I probably should.
But I always feel better when I can talk with a friend or something more personal so I don't think I'm a lost cause. |
