In the irc I said I feel good because I watched two mlp's and Vrai started telling me how they were banned from the irc along with rom hacking. I don't see it in the rules anywhere.

Eucliffe June 17th, 2011 7:33 PM

Well, they were banned from 4chan...

Honestly, it's an OK show, but I see no reason to make memes from it.

~Ryukaa June 17th, 2011 7:46 PM

Woah, it was banned from 4chan as well?
The irc, I can understand, but 4chan? That's where it started. xDD;;

From Know Your Meme:

As the fanbase of My Little Pony grew on 4chan’s /b/ board, so did “hatedom”. Soon, angry anons would try to “sage” a thread into submission. Due to the high comment volume the threads already received, this plan did not work. Then, they would instead try spamming gore images and porn in an attempt to dissuade people from posting. However, the “bronies” did not reply negatively, instead saying that even if those people spam gore, that that is okay. Eventually, some fans of the show decided that in order to stop being an inconvenience upon those who disliked the show, that an image board of their own was made, Ponychan.

On February 26, 2011, moderators on 4chan’s /b/ and /co/ boards started to “sage” pony threads and ban users who posted in them. The mods’ reasoning was stated as being “endless pony threads with no actual content other than reaction images. go start your own pony imageboard.”

The massive bans on users only created a flame war between fans of the show and those who claimed that it is cancer. Those claiming My Little Pony threads were cancer and didn’t generate any original content likened the phenomena to that of Boxxy spammers from 2009. Ponies quickly became the subject of “MODS ARE ASLEEP” threads.

On February 27, 2011, a stickied thread appeared on /co/’s front page with a list of rules for pony threads. They have since been taken down and were listed as followed:

Current rules for MLP threads:

Do:
-Keep all MLP related content within the current largest MLP thread
-Actually discuss the show
-Ignore any threads speaking negatively about the show

Do NOT:
-Post any MLP material in any thread not explicitly about MLP (reaction images, avatars, macros, quotes, phrases such as everypony/brony/etc)
-Post threads to speak negatively about MLP or reply to threads speaking negatively about MLP
-Post any MLP material on other boards
-Bump MLP threads just to keep them bumped
-Report MLP threads where users are staying in one thread

These rules are in place for the meantime and we’ll make adjustments as we see how everything goes. Abuse will result in bans.

On March 1, 2011, the MLP imageboard, Ponychan, was raided by some members of /b/. Screenshots show that it was possibly a mod that organized or provoked the raid. However, later in the day, the imageboard was restored and moved to a new server as well as a tumblr blog for updates whenever the site is down. On this same day, the pony ban in /b/ was lifted.

March 20, 2011, moot trolled channers, replacing headers with “Once Upon a Pony: Everypony Welcome!” and posting ponies under the anime/manga board, but the headers were quickly changed back.
Ah, good old internet. Source of everything.

~Ryukaa June 17th, 2011 8:06 PM

Ah, now everything makes sense. xD;
There was which youtube video that actually recorded some of the fights the haters and the bronies had. It was... interesting, to say the least.

Anyway, that's 4chan. What about irc? o3o
That's a little harder to research, without asking around.
Though, it's probably not a big thing.

Oryx June 17th, 2011 8:10 PM

They're not technically banned, but it's not really talked about because too many people dislike it. Kind of like rom-hacking, not an official rule but people are asked not to talk about it in irc because a lot of people don't care about it. xD

XD He wasn't serious. It'd not officially banned, but the mods of the IRC (myself included) would rather not talk about mlp. XD

Eucliffe June 17th, 2011 8:20 PM

There's also the FC for it, too.

A Pixy June 17th, 2011 8:21 PM

That's a silly rule. MLP's a cool show made of cool. It existing has made the world 20% cooler in 10 seconds flat. :C

Yah. I wouldn't talk about it because I'd get flamed.

But actually ROM hacking isn't allowed in the irc, neither is trading. It says in the thread.

インフェルノの津波 June 17th, 2011 8:35 PM

Sorry, but MLP is starting to get on my nerves now. Can we talk about something else?

Eucliffe June 17th, 2011 8:36 PM

FAIRY TAIL :D /noooo don't comment on this I don't want any hating ;;

Well, it's 00 in the morning here for me :D

jigglyppuff8 June 17th, 2011 8:38 PM

Judging from all the themes, I bet this thread would hop on an animanga conversation in a heartbeat. But when somebody wants to talk about Ponies, it's "no, let's talk about something else".

Eucliffe June 17th, 2011 8:40 PM

That, or Pokemon. It's about 4:3 (Animanga:Pokemon) on this page, not counting multiple posts made by the same user.

インフェルノの津波 June 17th, 2011 8:41 PM

Because anime/manga has variety while MLP has like what 26 episodes?

Not saying I don't get bothered with anime/manga conversations either. Just want to talk about something else for a change.

Eucliffe June 17th, 2011 8:43 PM

But you're thinking of the RECENT MLP show. There are quite a few other MLP shows/movies out there, though they aren't really that popular. There's the whole franchise, too. And, if you want to expand furthermore, you can talk about Hasbro merchandise.

jigglyppuff8 June 17th, 2011 8:43 PM

Good guy beats up bad guy. Slice of Life. Romance.

PICK ONE.

インフェルノの津波 June 17th, 2011 8:47 PM

ALL OF THEM.

And I'm aware that MLP has more to it than as of recent, my mistake.

jigglyppuff8 June 17th, 2011 8:48 PM

But really, nobody cares about that. Like a majority of anime finished before 2000.

Eucliffe June 17th, 2011 8:49 PM

There are actually quite a few pre-2000 anime series I like (other than Pokemon and Sailor Moon) :3 Heck, if you introduce me to more good ones to watch I'll probably watch those too.

インフェルノの津波 June 17th, 2011 8:50 PM

And here we are, talking about anime...again.

A Pixy June 17th, 2011 9:01 PM

The few in that minority are Miyazaki films, Dragon Ball/Z, Evangelion and...

Yeah, that's about it. :U

~Ryukaa June 17th, 2011 9:02 PM

Anime is cool. So is pie. In fact, I'm eating pie right now.

A Pixy June 17th, 2011 9:11 PM

I at an apple pie at McDonald's once.

It tasted amazing.

NurseBarbra June 17th, 2011 9:16 PM

Mc Donalds? Don't they have free wifi? I need free wifi... Need to do some online things.
(no I'm not selling dead bodies on ebay)
