There's a long way up ahead- You want to rest?

In Black and White, there are many new types of trainers. Including Doctors and Nurses. These helpful people heal your Pokemon after beating them in a battle. They work like Mini-Pokemon Centers. After beating them, you can talk to them as many times as you want and they will heal your team. Their appearance allowed longer Caves and Routes, since you don't have to stop at a Pokemon Center than continue on that same route. They appear in many places, like right before Pinwheel Forest, Chargestone Cave, and Victory Road.

What do you think about Doctors and Nurses?
Do you feel they were unneeded?

Discuss~

Yurusumaji March 27th, 2011 8:16 PM

Considering how big some of the areas in BW are (Twist Mountain is a good example), I was really happy to see the Doctors and Nurses in the game. They're a great asset in places like Twist Mountain where you'll probably end up wandering around for 2 hours until you explore the whole thing and then go looking for the exit.

The Nightmare March 27th, 2011 8:19 PM

There will be nurses in big areas like twist mountain but not sure if it will be in victory road.

There is one in Victory Road. I've already gone through there.

Oryx March 27th, 2011 8:25 PM

I love this idea. In other games I felt like I was bound to not exploring caves and such thoroughly because my Pokemon just couldn't take it; now I can pretty much explore anywhere with ease.

Ho-Oh March 27th, 2011 8:28 PM

lol omg I was planning on making this after the other one but then I was like "nah too much effort". XD

I love them, they make playing the game sooo much easier. Especially near Pinwheel where it's best to train there early on, so it was a great placement of a nurse rather than running all the way back to Nacrene.

Aquacorde March 27th, 2011 8:32 PM

Omg love those people. I thought there were too many of them at first but they are oh-so-convenient. :3

Zeffy March 27th, 2011 8:39 PM

They are a big help to me. Whenever I see them I go "OMG ITS A DOCTOR/NURSE! VERY GOOD TIMING!", like literally! xD

The Corrupt Plague March 27th, 2011 9:08 PM

I love them because they are extremely helpful. There's finally no need to have to backtrack to pokemon centers!

King Gumball March 27th, 2011 9:26 PM

OOh I love them SO MUCH!! even though i lost against one in twist mountain or something They make playing so much easier and traveling much more convenient and saves me a lot of cash :D Best.Trainers.Ever.

Mujahid March 27th, 2011 10:28 PM

Just another great addition that people tend to forget..B/W is full of those..I luv them and the one just outside pinwheel forest was very helpful..

MegaSlowBro. March 27th, 2011 10:46 PM

I thought they were a good class to bring out in Black and White xD I found them really useful in Twist Mountain and Victory Road. It helps when you don't but items a lot xD

danno 507 March 28th, 2011 12:15 AM

definately needed, can be such a pain to keep goin bak to the previous town to heal ur mons *AGAIN*!

Sammuthegreat March 28th, 2011 12:50 AM

I really like them, they just make the game that little bit more accessible. It's never been enjoyable having to run back to the Pokemon Centre every 5 minutes.

Does anyone else agree though that with Poison not hurting Pokemon out-of-battle, and with healers dotted around in the middle of longer routes, it'll be much easier to Nuzlocke Black and White?

SeanTheOriginal March 28th, 2011 12:52 AM

I think it's about time we have Out-Of-Center healing. When I was training before the E4, I did it right next to the doctor and it saved me SO much time. Anyone who thinks these doctors are bad hate saving time. And people who hate saving time are sadists.

tjb90 March 28th, 2011 1:19 AM

I really like the Doctors and Nurses. They are very nice and very helpful! I really like using them to heal while I am exploring and training.

Yeah, and even if my pokemon aren't hurt I like to heal anyway to replenish my moves. Soo useful. Though I wonder what they are randomly doing out in their uniform and everything XD Weird.

Tristz0t March 28th, 2011 1:31 AM

I loved the doctors and nurses! They helped me heaps throughout the game. Especially Victory Road and Pinwheel forest one. It was a bit annoying running back and forth while going through Pinwheel forest, but still thankful for her. The victory road one helped me when I was training up my Pokemon for the league :)

Speed March 28th, 2011 1:32 AM

I love them, they helped me a bunch when I was grinding a bit in Pinwheel Forest, and they're still nice just in case I ever run out of potions, or all my Pokemon are low on health.

PlatinumDude March 28th, 2011 1:57 AM

The Doctors and Nurses are useful to me because I don't have to backtrack to a Pokemon Center to heal while I'm grinding my Pokemon.

Red Scizor March 28th, 2011 3:48 AM

I really liked their use (healing your pokés)

It really came in handy.

JP March 28th, 2011 3:52 AM

A very welcomed addition throughout the game. It was a pain running low on medicine and then trying to get out of a cave or the woods just to get to a Pokecenter.

Autaven March 28th, 2011 4:04 AM

I really like them. I honestly think that this game (at least at the beginning) was a lot more difficult than previous generations and the doctors and nurses came in so handy when you're in the middle of somewhere. Currently training in Victory Road to battle the E4, and loving the wee doctor in here :)

Satoshi Ookami March 28th, 2011 5:03 AM

If you won't think that's it's kinda illogical that they can heal pokemon outta nothing it's very great feature that should've been implemented even in previous generations. =)

lamby101 March 28th, 2011 5:18 AM

I think they're a good idea, in the initial stages of the games where you can't just randomly fly to a pokecentre to heal up, it was very welcome to come across these nurses and doctors.

The main part I liked about them though was that you had to beat them before they'd heal your pokemon for you.

SquirtleGirl March 28th, 2011 6:07 AM

I think it would be hilariously ironic to lose to one of them :3

Yes I found them very useful, especially when grinding and the PP goes down faster than the Exp. goes up >.>
Even the people in houses like on the way to Twist Mountain and on Village bridge are incredibly useful as the houses don't take anywhere near as long to load as the PC :D

Drekin March 28th, 2011 6:10 AM

Yeah I like them but there were at least 5 times that I was in the middle of a cave and used 2-3 revives and 10+ potions/superpotions to completely heal my pokemon then I find a nurse/doctor around the corner. :disappoin

solarowl March 28th, 2011 6:54 AM

That happened to me a lot. I entirely heal up my team to see a doctor. At least I'm rich.

BenjiTheKid March 28th, 2011 7:02 AM

I usually heal up (and revive if needed) after every battle, so I find that they were a nice addition. It saves me a few potions every now and then, so I can't complain. I would love to see them (or trainers like them) in future games.

Heart Gold March 28th, 2011 7:20 AM

Yeah, they are pretty useful. My Duramaka had 4 HP left and one of them healed me before entering the Desert Resort.

Oh, and they are better than those creepy old ladies who keep asking you to rest after you've just rested.

trespasser March 28th, 2011 7:54 AM

I just LOVE them. :D I really like how if you walk in front of them they don't make you battle, until you talk to them. Is it me, or are they stronger then other trainers? It seems like it to me. :P

blue March 28th, 2011 9:26 AM

I love the sight of Nurses and Doctors, it saves alot of time that you'd spend walking back to a Pokécentre then getting back to were you where at, I'm in Chargestone cave and I've just battled a Doctor, saves me walking all the way back to the Pokécentre :) So yeah, a great addition if you ask me!

~ Also saves revives & potions ;)

amberrelf March 28th, 2011 10:09 AM

LOLOL.
I would be DEAD if not for those doctors, yeah!!
:]

Big-Davey March 28th, 2011 1:12 PM

Anyone noticed it's ALL positive feedback on this thread?! :P

It's always been great to have healing points outside of cities...and now the routes are longer, it definitely benefits having Doctors and Nurses...as for caves, with the new EXP format you become so much more interested in training and forget your PP is low...then boom - there's a Doctor! :D

Sure the only downside is you could use items right before you encounter one...but oh well, you'll familiarise yourself with the locations of them all :)

Nakuzami March 28th, 2011 1:46 PM

These doctors and nurses are extremely welcome. They are sooo helpful and they make it so much easier to grind.

Yes. Much better. Those ladies used to make me scream "RAPE!" in my head whenever I saw them, but I had no choice but to rest anyway...

Xyrin March 28th, 2011 1:50 PM

Big help! When I was grinding in Victory road I stood right beside him and healed when I needed. Same thing when I was running out of PP while farming Audinos at the Pinwheel Forest entrance.

Dark Piplup March 28th, 2011 2:22 PM

I think they're really useful! Though they may not have been necessary they were REALLY helpful.

Pwnyta Jockey March 28th, 2011 5:21 PM

Awesome. Just love this. And the vending machines.

Only thing hated is where the Doctor at Twist Mountain was/is.

Eurydice March 28th, 2011 5:37 PM

i love the fact that there were doctors/nurses. all the best training spots had some place to heal you pokemon making training alot easier and seeing how big some of the areas are its nice knowing that about halfway through there is someone there to heal you team

alisaie March 28th, 2011 5:42 PM

The doctors saved me sooo much time and grief while I was playing the game. Due to my Pokemon's defenses they needed to be healed a lot while go through areas, so not having to go all the way back to the last city to heal and simply going to the midpoint of the area was so much easier. I'm extremely glad they were there.

Rusty118 March 28th, 2011 6:42 PM

That one doctor on Victory Road helped me so much.
The process went like this:

1. Equip lucky egg
2.Train
3. If low on health, talk to doctor. Omg, i didnt waste any Revives or potions!
4. Rinse and repeat

<3

Barn March 28th, 2011 6:50 PM

Love them! I mean, who wouldn't? Just don't talk to them if you don't like them. xD

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ March 29th, 2011 6:34 AM

Nurses are cute :)

As for the topic at hand, they are invaluable when level grinding in said locations, as you can just talk t them instead of backtracking out of a cave in the event you run out of PP for your best moves or if you sustain heavy damage (Wild Boldore's combination of Sturdy + Sand-Attack+Rock Throw/Slide can really do a number on your HP when it takes you forever to defeat them). So they are definitely a welcome addition to the game.

Roughsponge March 29th, 2011 7:00 AM

I think this was a great idea! Sometimes I have just used potions etc on my pokemon and then I turn a corner and there appears a doctor/nurse... but oh well still gets the PP up and makes training a lot easier.

Spellbound March 29th, 2011 7:06 AM

I never knew they healed your Pokémon untill I battled one, after that, everytime I saw one I'd be really happy too see them :P

Phototoxin March 29th, 2011 8:32 AM

They are helpful and break up otherwise long and arduous treks.

Gotta Catch 'Em All March 29th, 2011 8:55 AM

I actually think they were a great addition to the Pokemon series. Albeit a unexpected one, I didn't see it coming at all (I assumed the fact you could buy potions, full restores, and with the addition of berries too, would see the end of "Outside PC" healing, as it were), but they're definitely an addition I'm not complaining about.

I didn't find it was the healing due to being weak that was the benefit for me - More so it was the fact that I could get some training due mid-cave/route, something that was rather difficult in other Pokemon games due to the significant lack of Ethers, and the amount of PP lost while trying to train. Thanks to these Doctors/Nurses I was able to keep my Pokemon's PP to a sufficient level that I could actually train with them.

Cool topic. :)

Ice Car March 29th, 2011 9:06 AM

Love it. When I was powerleveling in Victory Road the doctor was extremely helpful.

Pebblycone April 3rd, 2011 4:34 AM

I love them! The first few times it happened, I was quite surprised, but yeah they are really helpful :)

AusGut April 3rd, 2011 4:56 AM

Even though this was an amazing addition to the game i still found myself using a lot of revives and restores. I think the one at pin wheel forest should of been inside near the bridge.

Scraggiland April 3rd, 2011 8:15 PM

The Doctors and Nurses in Pokémon Black and White are awesome, they are very useful when going through certain caves such as Twist Mountain, Victory Road and even the Desert Resort especially if like me you like to explore the whole area collecting items and such.

This. Oh god, I grinded so much that I permanently stayed overleveled (8th gym now)

The_Noob April 3rd, 2011 8:56 PM

They made the annoying parts of finding every item in Victory Road much easier. I hope this means we can get supersized dungeons in Gen VI, since you can have Doctors and Nurses as checkpoints.

Noob out.

s0nido April 4th, 2011 1:48 AM

They are an absolute RELIEF. But it's annoying that the game developers decided that they can make longer-stretched roads and stuff. It's really annoying. XD

Musica April 4th, 2011 6:51 AM

I talked to a Nurse Trainer for more than 20 times, I think. I simply love them. They help in grinding A LOT, especially when you feel like you're going to black out/white out.

EJ April 4th, 2011 7:00 AM

It was mostly helpful for conserving your time and maximizing the efficiency of your gaming session allowing you to progress quicker.

I hope the next generation includes them as well.

PennyLayne April 4th, 2011 9:09 AM

Best idea ever, I myself haven't dedicated more than 10 hours to a pokemon game since silver, so coming back to doctors and nurses was so awesome that it still has my playing 40+ hours on :D

Shorty- April 4th, 2011 7:59 PM

OMG!! I Love it!! I don't have to spend all my cash on items, and I can explore the areas much more and catch catch catch Pokemon.

Necrolium April 4th, 2011 8:46 PM

I feel like they are a large help, especially if you are low on items. It just brightens up your day to see one of the doctors or nurses.

OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire April 4th, 2011 8:51 PM

I was glad to find one when I could ^_^ They were really helpful in my trips through Twist mountain, Celestial tower and Victory road (oh and the Desert Ruins) my whole team almost fainted by the time I made it to them and fought them...so I was really thankful they added them.

RoseBlade April 4th, 2011 9:02 PM

Oh my, looks like I will be the first to say that I didn't like them.

While I do admit that they are useful, in all honesty I don't believe anyone that can contest this, I also believe that they are to useful.

I ask that you try to remember back to when you first played the original pokemon Red Blue or Yellow, especially the first time you had to go through Victory Road. You did not know where to go or which way to push those rocks, I admit to having trouble with this. You had to carefully calculate every step and make sure that you had enough items to make it through. In the end though you where rewarded by making it out and being able to challenge the League.

I believe that the presence of the nurses and doctors throughout the game make the feeling of getting through a dungeon less rewarding in comparison to the other games. While they did help once you find them it begins to feel like cheating to me going back to them over and over.

I do apologize if my opinion offended or if you disagree with it but it is how I feel.

Va April 5th, 2011 7:48 PM

They're helpful, especially on Twist Mountain. :D

ssrobin April 10th, 2011 3:56 AM

really like that feature, saved me several time.

Rai April 10th, 2011 3:22 PM

I love the Doctors and Nurses. They are really helpful and help me save money on healing potions!

Yusshin April 10th, 2011 3:32 PM

I found them unrealistic. You can spam-talk to them forever, but surely their medical supplies would diminish? Simply where do they stock the thousands of Full Restores? They don't even have a knapsack on.

I also found they ruined the adventure a little. Made the game too easy - if you're not prepared, you're not prepared. Pack up, Dig out, and Fly to a Pokemon Centre. Come back when you're of level and well-stocked with stuff. To rely on a Nurse or Doctor who's surely in there for whatever reason (do tell me why, other than facilitating the game for no reason) removes some of the epic "Crap, no stuff left, and my Pokemon are almost dead" moments. No fun. No consequences.

They're very helpful for leveling up, but in truth, I'd have preferred having less of them. Especially at Victory Road and Twist Mountain.

There is a nurse in Pinwheel forest too iirc, and I think there are others too...

Uber Legend April 11th, 2011 1:15 PM

I really like the idea of them, but I rarely used them at all. I'm one of those people who is always prepared and whose pokemon can take multiple battles back to back without necessarily having to be healed after every battle. They can be pretty helpful at times though.

Apart from Pinwheel, there's also one in the Tower of Heaven (Don't know and don't care about the english name :P).

cazzler April 11th, 2011 2:31 PM

Yeah doctors/nurses are pretty helpful in the game, makes you feel comfortable when far away from a pokecentre, if there wern't any, I bet the game would be heaps difficult to breeze through without needing a pokecentre in the middle of a route.

Osha_say_wott?! April 28th, 2011 5:22 PM

I love the doctors and nurses, they're really helpful, especially in cave areas. I don't have to spend lots of money stocking up on items, also. I also don't have to worry about getting lost in caves or being too far away an exit/entrance to the nearest Pokémon Center. I can explore the whole place and visit a doctor/nurse to heal my Pokémons to full health. =D

Something I've noticed so far is that Unova has a lot of NPCs, usually doctors and nurses, who hang out at certain locations and heal your Pokémon. They're found in or near locations where it might be inconvenient to go all the way back to a Pokémon Center -- outside Pinwheel Forest and in Desert Resort, for example. Usually they are Trainers whom you have to battle once, and after that they will always fully restore your Pokémon every time you come back to them.

What do you think about these helpful characters? Do you use them during your journey? Or do you think they make the game too easy?

Personally, I find them incredibly convenient. It's cheaper than stocking up on even more items, and easier than going all the way back to the last Center. I think there are just enough of them, too; they aren't all over the place, but they're in some of the long dungeons and stuff where you could get in some real trouble without a way to keep your Pokémon healthy.

Discuss.

Interesting...so it seems that the Pokemon Center is outsourcing its service or something. XD Go Nurse Joy.

This implementation seems like it makes the game too easy...I mean, first the overworld Poison effect is removed, you get a free Lucky Egg at the start of the game, and now there are even more places to heal your Pokemon! It's like players are getting babied! :x What happened to that tedious, backtracking trek to the Pokemon Center of past games?

I guess these Doctors/Nurses do save trips to the Pokemon Center and expenses on Potions and the like, but managing to brave wild Pokemon with a tired party just to reach a Pokemon Center is part of what made the games a challenge. Also, it's annoying that there just so happens to be one of these medics in Victory Road. If any trip is supposed to be a challenge, it's that one. -_-

And exactly what do you spend your money on, then, if not Medicine and TMs? Just Poke Balls? >_>

jigglyppuff8 April 28th, 2011 6:36 PM

Many a trip and grinding has been interrupted by frequent trips to the Pokemon Center. Now that I beat the game, they're just OK, but they lifesavers during it.

I'm guessing Game Freak got smart and realized that the "fake difficulty" of having to backtrack to Pokemon Centers was more of a nuisance than an actual challenge. And who's to say that reaching that Doctor or Nurse with an extremely tired party hoping to get that free heal can't be a challenge? It was certainly one of the reasons I kept pushing on instead of backtracking all the way back to the Pokemon Center every time. With the new experience formula in this game and the several amount of trainers in between each city, I'm sure that Black and White isn't "babying" anyone, but simply adding convenience should you choose to use it.

And the medic in Victory Road is near the end anyway. There's no Pokemon Center or healing area immediately before it like in Gens II-IV, so it's still a challenge.

Also, Vitamins.

Kaean April 28th, 2011 7:09 PM

I love that they have them scattered around. My first trip in an area tends to end with me healing with items right before finding one of them, but after I know where they are I stop using items so much. Its a wonderful feature as far as I'm concerned.

Molts April 28th, 2011 7:49 PM

The ones inside caves I didn't like so much, I really liked how caves were something really hard wandering around forever exploring. You have to be careful as to who your bring with you and have to be very conservative with your items because your just so far out for a long time. The one in victory road particularly bothered me, victory road I remember as a giant doom cave that took ages to navigate because of all the multi-levels and stairs between floors.

The healers outside places, like before pinwheel forest is very very nice though. Allowing me easy grinding spots to level up, and to be out in the world for longer. In this case they were very welcomed.

Ω Ruby and α Sapphire April 28th, 2011 10:28 PM

Doctors and nurses are so useful. Especially just around area's where you train to replenish HP and PP. Alot of rangers or whatever there called give you berries which is also helpful.

Vrai April 28th, 2011 11:21 PM

I loved the addition of Nurses and Doctors. It was like having a Pokémon Center in every route!... and by that, it made training and everything wayyyy easier which definitely isn't a bad thing. :D;

Lateon May 26th, 2011 6:43 PM

I loved the doctors and nurses. It made it so much easier to grind when you didn't have to run all the way back to a pokecenter to heal. The only other ones I remember that gave out items were the rangers, which is really the only way to get berries in the game without transferring them from the DW.

Fushigidane-Chan May 26th, 2011 6:55 PM

I don't mind them. Doctors and nurses were nice additions, although they made an easy game even easier imo.

Amore May 27th, 2011 1:49 PM

I find them useful, and kinda nifty even when they're not. Although I usually have lots of items, the nurse outside Pinwheel Forest is like a god-send with all the poisonous bugs around (Even if Poison had its out-of-battle effect removed now). I also like to heal up with that doctor in Chargestone Cave, then take on the whole of Team Plasma down there with my fully-healed team, healing up again before N (Seems fair, does it not?).

I can understand why some people might complain a little due to them making the game easier, but there are plenty of hard bits in the games too, i.e. Any trainer between Route 11 and Route 16 (including the Sports Domes) Post-E4, N and Ghetsis.

vaporeon7 May 27th, 2011 5:45 PM

They are defiantly useful. Some of them are unneeded though such as the one in front of Pinwheel Forest where it is only a short walk back to the Pokemon Centre and you can't encounter any wild Pokemon or trainers so you can't take damage. However the ones in places like Desert Resort where it means you don't have to go back through all that sand are super handy.

PorygonShellder May 27th, 2011 7:50 PM

They are pretty useful, especially near Pinwheel Forest because if you run out of potions, it's handy to have a nurse there. And there Pokemon usually give off alot of XP. :P

2Cool4Mewtwo May 27th, 2011 8:04 PM

I've though about this kind of stuff for a while ever since I played Gen I... (Not fun to try to navigate through ROCK TUNNEL again) Glad they finally implemented it :D

the1akshay May 27th, 2011 11:47 PM

I love them. They're an ingenious way of making the game more friendly to new people, and it's not like you're forced to use or battle them. And some of the areas in game are massive, like Twist Mountain, and they're really helpful. And I no longer need to spend loads of money on Potions that I probably won't use.

Ahhhh, it's good. So much of a relief to struggle through a particularly challenging part of the game and find a doctor or nurse. Sure, you have to beat them first, but then it's worth it to get an instant pokemon center in the middle of nowhere.

The only one I ever use is the one in Celestial Tower while I'm EV Training my Special Sweepers. I don't even notice most of them, so I never use any of the other ones. xD

DemonBlood93 May 29th, 2011 6:23 AM

I like the idea and I'm glad they put them in, handy to not keep fainting or running back to the PC.

The 100 Mega Shock May 29th, 2011 9:20 AM

It's a lower-effort solution to the problem of constantly going back to a Pokémon Centre or carrying rare and expensive healing items than an approach that could've helped fix the problem better.

Instead of just taking the easy way out and littering the place with NPCs that call the "heal your Pokémon" routine I would have liked to see the entire HP and PP system get an overhaul.

Several popular RPG games choose to restore KO'd party members to 1 hit point after the battle is over, the most well-known examples being Final Fantasy X and Chrono Trigger. This makes it easier to keep a fighting team available because you don't need to use Revives (Which are expensive and cannot be bought until a point during the late stages of the game) to be able to bring your team back to health after a battle if some of them have fainted.

Many games (including the Mystery Dungeon series) also incorporate slowly regenerating HP and MP for their characters at some point. We've seen that simply resting for a period of time allows Pokémon to be restored to full health and power, so why is it that a Pokémon will never restore HP or PP on their own, even if you travel for a long time and they do not participate in battle at all?

Doctors and Nurses are a great addition in the game. I prefer to use them over and over again whenever I am training my pokemon in the grass or cave.

Sarcastic Prince May 30th, 2011 6:46 AM

They're extremely helpful. It saves up a lot of time without having to use Dig or an Escape Rope just to go back to the PKMN Center to heal my PKMN.

I think it's really awesome because you don't have to run all thee way back to a PC. o_o

I really liked the addition of doctors and nurses, many of them actually make EV training much less of a hassle (the nurse in celestical tower for SP.atk, the one infront of pinwheel forest and in victory road for defense) it's almost as if they did that on purpose.

I feel that they should placed in more strategic areas as well, maybe make a long enduring dungeon where there is a nurse or doctor midway but you have to sweat it out to reach him.

Very useful. I like them a lot, since they save my money on Revives, Potions and the like.

They were very useful, and saved me from fainting quite a few times. Especially in Victory Cave, though the Doctor almost beat me the first time. :<

Having 97 escape ropes in every game (thanks to my over-abuse of Pickup) kinda makes the doctors slightly less "needed" and more of a convenience/time saver. However, I am glad they added them into the game. Before my first E4 on Black, I did a bunch of grinding at Victory Road which would've taken twice as long without a doctor in the room. And I do sort of miss them when playing my other pokemon games.

Also, a bit off topic:

I thought for sure that that's what the Heal Ball was for. You catch pokemon in it, then as you walk around they restore maybe 1 HP per step, maybe even a rare chance to cure status too. But no....of course they are next to useless because they don't do that at ALL...

Meganium June 1st, 2011 7:35 AM

I think the nurses and doctors healing your Pokemon after battle are pretty helpful in my end. If you finish the battle with most of your Pokemon fainted or with status problems, they can heal it for you without having to go all the way back to the nearest Pokemon Center. To be honest I find that really neat.

mikey June 1st, 2011 8:28 AM

I love those Nurses and Doctors :D They make things a whole lot easier. This way I don't always have to run back and forth to the Pokemon Centers. Great addition.

adamant57 June 1st, 2011 8:32 AM

I definitely love the Docs and Nurses. Makes running around the tougher areas easier (Looking at you Victory Road)

~Morning Bliss~ June 1st, 2011 3:16 PM

I definitely love how they are in certain places, especially when it came to Victory Road. I have to admit I was getting kind of anxious to reach the end to heal up all of my Pokémon already, but it was good to see one of the doctors there. Plus I still think it gives off some kind of competition within the games, since you do have to battle the nurse/or doctor first before your Pokémon are healed.

feralig8rx June 1st, 2011 4:14 PM

I liked it and I didn't.

I loved how it was much easier to heal up more often. It meant less items for me to carry and less deaths due to low hp and sicknesses I couldn't cure.

But in a strange way, I didn't like it. The game was easy enough and didn't need another factor this big to add to it.

However, despite the game being so easy, I would like to see this feature implemented again in the future, although probably not to the same extent.
