Ho-Oh March 28th, 2011 6:53 AM

Have you ever felt guilty for hurting Audino?

As you'd know, you can find Audino in shaking grass. However, this question isn't related to that, and instead wondering if you feel a little bad for hurting Audino? It gives you a lot of HP, and when it's at a higher level, uses Heal Pulse, which heals your HP. It also has the nurse role, meaning it wants to "help" you and when you attack it... yeah.

I dunno, I feel bad when hurting Audino, especially after it uses Heal Pulse, anyone else feel the same? XD Or does hurting Audino have no effect upon you whatsoever? Just kinda curious what you guys think. And if you haven't run into Audino, then there's no point to you posting, unless you know whether you'd feel bad or not. :(

And yes I'm aware that this is a Pokemon, but still, it's possible for you to feel a little guilty.

JP March 28th, 2011 6:57 AM

I see it as a way to gain EXP, much like any other Pokemon I knock out for the EXP. I don't feel guilty about it at all lol, after all... it's one of its main purposes.

Zhinc March 28th, 2011 6:57 AM

You know, I never thought much about it...I suppose if it wasn't pixels, I would be heart-broken but, uh...experience is experience.

Oh, and I love how N is creeping in the last panel of that comic there. So in character. xD

solarowl March 28th, 2011 6:59 AM

I guess I feel kind of bad for beating it so many times. It uses Take Down then Heal Pulse so... :/
It just uses all those moves that have no effect, but exp's exp.

Regeneration March 28th, 2011 6:59 AM

I love Audino so much that I've never battled one. :)

BenjiTheKid March 28th, 2011 6:59 AM

Not really, but since you've put it that way... I feel like I should. xD I always just defeat it because it gives good EXP to do so.

Oryx March 28th, 2011 6:59 AM

I didn't feel guilty until now. Thanks ;~;

Opposite Day March 28th, 2011 7:00 AM

I remember trying out Audino grinding for the first time at like route 10, walking up and down next to the grass, spraying myself with repel in order to hold off the shrooms, and it basically went like this:
- attack it
- it heals me
- I CAN'T DO THIS

never done that again

Giraffe March 28th, 2011 7:11 AM

Aww... Yes, I do now. Such a sweet Pokemon. x33
Shame there isn't an uglier Pokemon that gave you lots of EXP... Like Throh/Sawk - I wouldn't feel guilty at all for defeating a pile of them!

Heart Gold March 28th, 2011 7:14 AM

Nope, all they do is Double Slap me!!! They always knock out my precious Snivy (soon to be an even more precious Servine, my fave evo <3)

I've developed an anger towards them. That comic is awesome though!

blue March 28th, 2011 7:14 AM

It looks really innocent & cute so I always feel guilty after defeating one, especially after it tries helping me and using Heal Pulse, and that picture didn't help me feel any better about it D:

Mujahid March 28th, 2011 7:51 AM

They never use healing pulse against me so i have a reason to kill them .Evil Audinos

Skaterzpenguin March 28th, 2011 7:59 AM

I never felt guilty... Its a video game... I caught one, and when ever I battle one again I kill it and gain good Exp. points from battling it. ;p

DayDreamer March 28th, 2011 8:05 AM

No. I see it as a masochist. Those moves. Those base stat. The exp it gives. Not killing it is an insult to it! IT WANTS TO BE KILLED!

Lol @ comic.

Devil Flamingo March 28th, 2011 8:09 AM

I felt bad for like... 3~5 minutes, then I remember how evil they've been to my Pokemon when they were young (and weaker) so nope, not feeling bad. Plus I hold a grudge against the thing for having Regenerator (my fave BW ability) while being a worse Clefable/Wigglytuff (i.e. b/c it has no offense to speak of). Plus it's a creepy nurse-alien-faery thing. What's not to hate? I find it disturbing. XD The only healing Pokemon in Unova that I love love love is Alomomola, b/c she's so gorgeous. <3

Arumus March 28th, 2011 8:09 AM

I don't have much care for it, it annoys me somehow. No idea why.

pokewalker March 28th, 2011 8:09 AM

After all, GF made Audino for EXP purpose only. (an NPC confirms that in Nacrene City's PokeCentre) It only excists of some bytes, nothing more, so why not knock it out? If you beat one whilst your Pokemon is holding a Lucky Egg and the EXP. Power S is activated, I once managed to get 11406 EXP for it. ( :o ) And no, I've never felt guilty for it. It's just a stupid ugly beast :bandit:

Tropical Sunlight March 28th, 2011 8:09 AM

Nope, didn't feel bad for it.

Note how the answers differ between male and female PC members :P

Autaven March 28th, 2011 8:14 AM

I just peed my pants at that picture, hahahahahahaha actually too funny. I feel bad now, yes :P

Red Scizor March 28th, 2011 8:23 AM

Nope.

And I never will. giving so many exp is asking to be hurt

amberrelf March 28th, 2011 9:35 AM

Well, considering I have an Audino in my party...
Yeah, I do feel kinda bad that her brethren have all become my adorable little punching bags. XD
Michal doesn't give a crap, however; she's heartless.

Misheard Whisper March 28th, 2011 9:37 AM

I've killed one or two in my time, and I've never been Heal Pulsed. *shrug* I feel no guilt.

EJ March 28th, 2011 9:42 AM

They never bother to heal me...

...then again they never get a chance to attack because of my level. :#

Aquacorde March 28th, 2011 9:48 AM

I feel terribly guilty, all the time. ;-; I love Audino, have one in my party (Joyyy~)... but I need the exp. And it makes me sad. :(

レイジングブラスト March 28th, 2011 10:03 AM

Just when I thought I was the only one who thought this, I came across this. I tend to feel pretty low when I KO Audino because it's a Pokemon that just wants to help you out but I know I gotta get that EXP so I unfortunately have to keep knocking them out. I usually only battle them when I'm in desperate need for a quick level up for a new move because they give way too many HP EVs after a while.

King Gumball March 28th, 2011 12:16 PM

I felt guilty bashing that lady and her Chansey in Resort Area in DPPt XD Buut Audino's aren;t as cute, so no! They give so much Exp, aren't as cute or loving as Chansey and appear at high levels in the wild. So cool!

SquirtleGirl March 28th, 2011 12:27 PM

I never have felt bad. With Heal Pulse...Game Freak WANTS us to grind off them. Probably because the game is slightly harder than previous generations, at least I thought anyway.

mew_nani March 28th, 2011 12:34 PM

I sorta feel guilty a little bit.... but that's kinda offset by the fact that I train an Audino myself. (His name is Benny, and he kicks butt. Period.) Still, it makes me feel guilty looking at that picture you have... :(

R.K 9 March 28th, 2011 12:35 PM

wow... I never really saw it that way at all. now I'll probably feel a little bit hard on myself if I killed an audino ever again. ><
however, it was a very good exp source for training up for a gym or something.

Kirbychu March 28th, 2011 12:36 PM

I feel guilty for not putting those horrid things out of their misery.

I used to play a game where you had a demon, and the demon would like you more or less based on what you did. One of the worst things you could do was use that demon to fight other ones of the same species; it would get so sad. ):

|Torch| March 28th, 2011 1:03 PM

this is weird topic..

Come on.. If you feel bad about audino "fainting" or whatever why do you people not feel bad about pokemon battles? trainer encounters? and of course wild encounters its all the same no pokemon should make you feel guilty again its a Game! :) So also if you really want to get technical its just a screen full of pixels and one group of pixels makes up audino..

So lol i love the picture on the first post!

*SideNote*

If you ever feel that "fainting" Fire-Type pokemon make you kinda guilty then you would be right! lol *only joking*

Ok sorry just wanted to voice that side of things its understandable i guess but its just a game. Plus it's not really something you should dwell on.. Idk

lol From Torch :D

Kazma March 28th, 2011 1:06 PM

...I didn't feel bad until I read that comic. Thanks a lot. ;A; Maybe I should start training my Audino again. That'll make it up to him for naming him Bridget.

Ice Car March 28th, 2011 1:07 PM

EXP Sponge. And whenever I search for special pokes, it graces my screen 80% of the time, so I enjoy beating the **** out of it really. 95% spawn rate over Sawk/Throh in Pinwheel Forest, depending on your version. I searched for HOURS and found MANY Audinos. I killed every one of them because I HATE THEM.

It's different from the others because there are very few offensive moves it learns, so the only real attacks it uses are Doubleslap and Double-Edge, and I don't think I've ever fought an Audino with both of those. It also heals your own Pokemon while you beat the crap out of it for experience. So it's more helpful to your Pokemon than any of the Pokemon that give less experience, but it's targeted because of its high exp.

You should feel bad for using a water type on a Charmander. "It is said that a Charmander dies if its flame ever goes out." ):

Meduza March 28th, 2011 1:09 PM

I'm afraid I don't feel guily for making a bunch of pixels disappear off the screen.

tente2 March 28th, 2011 1:14 PM

Haven't encountered one yet, but I know that I would (I'm also planning one for my team;). I hate it when people say things like "it's a game it's pixels blah blah". Those people have no heart. Call me shallow. I don't care.

Also, the comic is very heartbreaking. I'll never KO Audino!

<opinion>HOW DARE YOU! Clefable and Wigglytuff were awesome pokemon! And it's not creepy, and it's definitely more original than Almonola, the Luvdisc wannabe.</opinion>

...I still feel a bit guilty about fighting an Audino. :( I don't use Benny against other Audino, though. He doesn't do so well against his own kind. I usually send in something else to fight them. :\

Ice Car March 28th, 2011 1:23 PM

It's just a bunch of pixels, why should we feel bad? :3

[Your Name Here] March 28th, 2011 3:04 PM

I don't feel bad, but I do feel a bit bad after seeing that comic. :p
Audinos never show up on Routes 11-17, so yeah... not guilty.

Pkmn Trainer Touko March 28th, 2011 3:47 PM

No! Training is so tedious that I cannot stand the site of Audino anymore! So I enjoy destroying it everytime.

Razer302 March 28th, 2011 4:00 PM

Only Time I ever felt bad about it was by killing it by accident when EV training and getting 2 in HP EV that I didn't want. Other than that its great for healing you, then killing it.

Weavile05 March 28th, 2011 4:11 PM

Not at all.
In fact I HAVE FURY!!!! at them. I didn't know about the trick to making them appear early on in the game and so my friend got WAAAAAAAY ahead of me, so now I brutally destroy any Audino I see, which I see a lot.

Hoohking March 28th, 2011 4:19 PM

Oh god, that comic really is a heart breaker :_(

I'll make sure to knock em out with one quick, painless strike next time I go leveling ;P

Pwnyta Jockey March 28th, 2011 4:25 PM

Where's the Durant comic?

No, I don't feel guilty. Giant Chasm is where I go for Audino. Lv47-50. Yeah.
Was stunned when I saw a wild Tangrowth.

pokehearts March 28th, 2011 5:50 PM

That comic made me sad, I'm almost in tears. :(

Niprop March 28th, 2011 6:10 PM

After all the things THEY did for me:

Porygon
Lvl. 1
Lucky Egg

Conversion
Shadow Ball
Toxic
Sharpen

Wild Audino appeared! *Insert innocent cry here*
Go! Porygon! "Iiiiiaaaauaaa-aaa!"
Porygon traced Audino's Healer!
Porygon used Conversion! Porygon became the POSION type!
Audino used Double-Edge! The attack missed!
Porygon used Conversion! Porygon became the NORMAL type!
Audino used Entertainment! But it failed!
Porygon used Conversion! Porygon became the POSION type!
Audino used Double-Edge!
A critical hit!"Iiiiiaaaauaaa-aaa..." Porygon fainted!
Porygon used Curse!

*6 failed attempts later*

Porygon used Conversion! Porygon became the GHOST type!
Audino used Take Down! It doesn't effect Porygon.
Porygon used Toxic!

*6 turns of Sharpening later*

Audino used Take Down! It doesn't effect Porygon,
Audino fainted! *THUD*
Porygon gained over 9000! EXP.

Porygon leveled up to 30!

Thinking back, I would have rather ground those levels manually then go through the pain it took to get that trick to work. So perhaps I do in fact feel bad for fighting Audino, bad that I had to go through so much effort in order to level off one!

Zenfyre March 28th, 2011 6:12 PM

I've only KOed a few Audino when playing my friend's file to level her Pokemon up. I do feel bad; such sweet little things yet they just have to be Public Enemy #1 for EXP fodder. Yet I still jump at the chance to get EXP from one... N would be disgusted with us.

Also, even if they are "just pixels", there's nothing wrong with feeling sorry for them (or sentimental value for your own Pokemon for that matter). They try to make games emotional, even if the characters you grow to love aren't real.

On a side note, I just bet someone is going to write a creepypasta of all the Audino they ever "killed" coming back from the dead to haunt them.

Daikenki March 28th, 2011 6:41 PM

I don't feel bad actually. The only pokemon I feel bad about taking out in the wild is actually lillipup because I own a 10 month old yorkie, and so everytime I KO one it chips away at my heartstrings, lmao.

But I hardly have the patience to just sit there and wait for an audino to show up anyway, and whenever I fought them it was early in the game and they did nothing to help my team or attack my team besides being there for exp fodder and taking 5 minutes to defeat because of the hp.

.Aero March 28th, 2011 6:42 PM

I originally didn't feel guilty. Then this comic made me realize that it really does just help you (unless it doubleslaps you). :< Now I feel guilty. Just before the E4 too and my plan to train was Audino grinding. ;o;

Barn March 28th, 2011 6:48 PM

I don't feel bad, every time I see one of them it uses Take Down and never Heal Pulse, so... :P

Eurydice March 28th, 2011 7:24 PM

yes i do especially when they heal my pokemon right before i knocked it out

Livewire March 28th, 2011 7:29 PM

I love beating down every Audino I see. >:D The exp is tooo much to pass up.

SeanTheOriginal March 28th, 2011 9:43 PM

I have a Shiny Audino, so I don't have to feel guilty for slaughtering the lot of them.

Rionix March 28th, 2011 10:03 PM

Nah, i just think of them as being masochist pokemons. They get the pleasure, and i get the EXP i want from them. A win-win situation for the both of us :)

Sabrewulf238 March 28th, 2011 10:34 PM

Nope, don't feel guilty at all

*Culls a large crowd of squealing Audinos*

They're cute but.......think of the exp! The exp! D:

MegaSlowBro. March 28th, 2011 10:43 PM

I feel bad KO'ing it all the time, but strangely I haven't encountered a lot lately...which I am kind of glad of. xD It looks so innocent too D: But you never know when a black sheep will come along haha

vaporeon7 March 28th, 2011 11:07 PM

I do feel a bit bad for fainting them. Especially because they are the Pokemon I seem to go for when I train my Pokemon. I must have defeated hundreds since I started the game. And then they start using Take Down and Double-Edge which annoys me. But before I defeat it it usually undoes all the damage it's done to me with Healing Pulse. That's what makes me feel bad.

PlatinumDude March 29th, 2011 1:08 AM

I see Audino as a bit of an annoyance because whenever I go into shaking grass, they almost always show up. Whenever I see one, I always run from it because even though they give out a lot of EXP, they give out 2 HP EVs to go with them. I run from them instead of battling them because I EV train my in-game teams.

Pokemon Trainer Touko March 29th, 2011 3:21 AM

I feel bad for killing them. Now I feel even worse after seeing the art. :<

Yurusumaji March 29th, 2011 3:31 AM

I really love Audino, so yes. I always feel horrible kicking their butts with my team, even though when I see the rustling grass I am initially all, "Yes! EXP heaven!" But then it's an Audino and I'm all, "I wish I could catch all of you and keep you safe with me forever!" T_T

Phototoxin March 29th, 2011 3:48 AM

Same here. why does it have to be so cute? I feel bad killing that thing...kinda glad that I don't really notice the shaking grass as much. I just abuse lucky egg. When I killed it a couple times, I liked the exp but I definitely felt bad. Someone mentioned they should make an ugly pokemon give you that like sawk or throe...lol I agree. I wouldn't feel so bad if it weren't such a sweet looking thing that you could have as a pet.

Titmas March 29th, 2011 5:59 AM

I don't. I focus blast that thing to kingdom come.

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ March 29th, 2011 9:12 AM

Not as much as I probably should... why did they have to make the best exp in the game so cute? I did catch one for my collection so I do feel a bit less guilty about that.

ISA56 2.0 March 29th, 2011 12:11 PM

You guys do realize you FAINT Pokemon in battle(NON-LETHAL), not KILL them? Kay, just checkin';)

That said, I did originally feel bad about fainting it. I saw an Audino and I was all like 'DAWWWW => but then I fainted it and got a lot of EXP. Afterwards, I was all like OH GOD WHAT HAVE I DONE (=-((((((

Imperator161 March 29th, 2011 12:52 PM

I'm not too far along in the game yet, so the Audinos I battle don't know Heal Pulse, but I don't feel too bad about knocking them out so far. After all, they frequently try to Attract my Pokemon, then Double Slap them to death. Sounds like an abusive relationship if you ask me, and I don't feel sorry about ending it.

Of course, later on, once the Audinos level up and become better behaved, so to speak, I may feel guilty about KOing them, but for the time being, I'm not going to worry about it.

lamby101 March 29th, 2011 1:09 PM

Noooo, I don't feel bad, it's a great way of gaining HP and it's not my fault that the Audino wants to heal my pokemon! lol

At the end of the day it makes the leveling up of high level pokemon a lot easier in a game where it's not particularly easy to do so.

Citrus Knight March 29th, 2011 1:15 PM

I don't feel bad. No sirree. I love the EXP I get for them, not to mention they're not really dying in my opinion, so it's okay.

imevil March 29th, 2011 1:36 PM

not at all, its just a computer script really. But it does come into use.

alisaie March 29th, 2011 1:37 PM

I didn't even know that they had a move in which they heal you, so no, I haven't felt bad for it. Even though it is cute in my opinion. Maybe in the future I will if they happen to use that move on me, who knows.

Saryka March 29th, 2011 1:45 PM

I don't have a guilty bone in my body for hurting Audino. If anything, I should be thanking it for all the experience it gives me. D< And I'll gladly take whatever Heal Pulses they throw at me, as long as I can rack up as much EXP as possible. /lolheartless

PKMN Trainer Nick March 29th, 2011 6:26 PM

I'm after the exp., so I don't care if I hurt them...and I thought it was a very special pokemon at first.

Gulpin March 29th, 2011 6:39 PM

Thanks Nica now I can't Audino-grind anymore ):
When reading the title I was like, "Hec, no! It's just a bunch of pixels..," but after reading the comic I'm like, "I'm so sorry how could I do this to you please just punch me in the face fifty times so I feel a little better." d.d

Taemin March 29th, 2011 7:06 PM

HAHAHA. No wayyy. I was grinding like heck against that Pokemon for a couple of days, early on in the game. It was an awesome way to gain quick EXP in order to beat the next gym. I almost felt like I was cheating, and I did catch an Audino for myself, but I haven't used it, because it's move set isn't something I have much use for. Not so far, anyway.

Legendary Silke March 30th, 2011 2:03 AM

Audino? You know, the experience points they give is indeed a lot. However... There's this thing that bugs me when I beat one. It's so cute that I wonder whether it was deliberate so that players feel guilty. I think I'm having a guilt trip now. Why oh why are we beating up this cute stuff?

Sarcastic Prince March 30th, 2011 5:18 AM

No. I'm don't care about 'em. The role of PKMN is to fight for victory.
So, I don't feel guility for smashing Audino.

~*!*~Tatsujin Gosuto~*!*~ March 30th, 2011 1:04 PM

I actually like when Audino uses Heal Pulse (its the least it can do for appearing all the time and wasting my time)...I really dont feel sorry for it

:t354:TG

TheUnown March 30th, 2011 1:19 PM

No ._.
They're actually starting to annoy me a little bit, so I'm glad when I can knock them out for the EXP.

Cartz Ketchum March 30th, 2011 3:22 PM

I have only seen the one, and the one I saw I cought and it happens to be a very valuable member to my team :)

Sheriff Woody March 30th, 2011 3:41 PM

I have never actually hurt an Audino. I have either ran from/caught it.

CleverProfileName March 30th, 2011 3:52 PM

They never heal pulsed me they kept hidden powering me and making me fall asleep

Mabelthorp March 31st, 2011 11:22 AM

I actually make it a point to actively hunt them. I call it "The Least Dangerous Game".

Virgilia March 31st, 2011 12:27 PM

Heck no! As soon as I see shaking grass, I dash for it. Audinos deal out some serious experience: They're great for levelling up Pokémon!

ACE9 March 31st, 2011 2:08 PM

Early on in the game, I didn't feel bad for killing one, but I do feel kinda bad now that I've basically declared the Final Solution on them. Currently, for my ingame/pokedex completion teams, those are pretty much the only thing I battle, and I'll usually kill like 50-100 in one sitting, and that picture makes me even worse about that.

Pyrax March 31st, 2011 2:33 PM

I don't feel guilty about making a bunch of pixels making another bunch of pixels disappear off my DS's screen.
Furthermore, I've killed possibly 100 Audino and I've only gotten healed by them twice.

Notworking15 April 1st, 2011 3:51 PM

Audino? the first time i saw it, i forgot about its big experience gain, because i caught it and had one in my team, but that had to stop...(perhaps i should consider breeding)

as for battling them, it does feel a bit bad when i end up beating it up, perhaps they show up just to help, but then i think that they are still trying to kill you. they are friendly, no? perhaps too friendly...

Bankaiglade April 1st, 2011 4:16 PM

Well....Not really! I caught one and put it in the day care, took it out before i took on skyla,it was level 39,and my pokemon that i were using were like level 30-32 xD it was usefull during the gym Arrests after then, and against the elite four, due to it knowing, flash, toxic, attract, and, double team,Haha,Kinda lame, but effective all the same. And then i beat the crap outta ones everytime i saw one afterwards. Also, when are the audino the strongest at? i need to train my box pokemon,(3 boxes full!!!)

Haha! I know right?! and i never got healed by em or used that type of move so far.

I felt bad until it KO'd my little dancing ice cream with a Take Down. Why have you betrayed me, sweet Tabunne... ;o;

Didn't really feel guilty about it much, but it is kinda sad always killing Audino's easily. Was N spying on her when she was crying?

I don't...that pokemon is creepy looking!!!

Ravecat April 2nd, 2011 3:44 AM

My Audino is brutal. It's the highest level Pokémon on my team, and rightfully so.

DOUBLE SLAP ERRY DAY.

The Eagle April 2nd, 2011 4:49 AM

Proud to say I have never killed one!

Thats because I have never freaking met one in the wild for some reason

OHM2010 April 2nd, 2011 6:22 AM

When im level 20, and I knock out a level 12 Audino, and get 1000+ XP, whats there to feel guilty about?! xP

Chiar April 2nd, 2011 9:27 AM

No. They smash my Pokemon with Secret Power and Double Slap, and they NEVER use Heal Pulse. They're evil, insolent, weird things that jump out the grass and kill my Pokemon while they try to attract them with their cute looks.
They're masochists, too.

Bluerang1 April 2nd, 2011 10:41 AM

So far no. The thing is hard to beat and it looks like it's mocking you D= Plus I don't see shaking grass so much :( But the Exp. Points are great! :D I caught one for myself for the Dex but it doesn't have healing pulse, probably because it's level is low. I didn't know they came in male also.

Lokette April 2nd, 2011 11:55 AM

I get a bunch of exp. but yeah, I feel somewhat guilty. I feel even worse when I miss the chance to KO one, though.

Sorry, but I'm a sadist who dissects animals for fun irl!

So I laughed my ass off everytime I killed an Audino! I always tested new moves on them.

Noob out.
