Just got around to watching last week's episode. >:

The CMC's little song towards the beginning was adorable and there were overall a lot of funny scenes in this episode... but by the time Big Mac and Cheerilee were on screen going, "sweetie weetie pony pie" and etc, I was just itching for it to end lol. It wasn't bad at all but my ears couldn't take much of that XD

Yeah, some of the sweet talk sounded forced somewhat, but it shouldn't have taken away from the episode itself.

That's not the moral. The moral was don't knock something until you try it. Which it was Rainbow did. By passing reading off as an "egghead" activity until she read the book and found out she likes to read.

Heheh,of course. I was joking around :P but i do dislike reading.

Okay, I don't think that should be something that would make you not like an episode...

alisaie February 16th, 2012 9:57 PM

Everyone has their reasons for disliking something. I've heard worse reasons why someone would dislike an episode, or a genre of music, etc etc. And hey, he might have been joking about hating the episode.

On the topic of the 'lovely dovey' talk, I'm not surprised some of it seemed forced. Considering that it was part of the 'Love Poison' and all. It was a tad annoying, but I suppose that's what you are to expect from a concoction like that!

I think that was the CMC had the best song beside Rarity's two songs.

Cheerilee and Big Mac's sweetie weetie scenes was best of all.

I strangely liked this week's episode a lot. I say 'strangely' because I'm never a big fan of the songs, and too much Pinkie - though I do love her - can often drive me crazy... but everything seemed to come together for this one. The songs, while a bit too long, were all in keeping with the tone of the episode, and the ambient music in general was great (especially the minor version of Yankee Doodle Dandy when Cranky became mad). Indeed, the plot of the episode reminded very much of 'Homer's Enemy' from The Simpsons, with Cranky filling in for Frank Grimes, but I doubt MLP would have had the guts to have Cranky go crazy from Pinkie's antics and electrocute himself, so the ending we got was the second best thing they could have done.

Oh, and this episode how introduced the now-immortal quote into my lexicon: "This donkey is really, REALLY bald!" I swear there's not going to be a day where I don't use that phrase! :D

Houndour2005 February 20th, 2012 2:03 AM

The Smile song is forgettable.

I seen better Pinkie Pie episodes.

Anyway here's my FiM collection update.

Okey dokey lokey! You're current username will be swapped for the previous one. Hope you're active in this club again!

I tend to post whenever a new episode comes up.

As for this new episode. I have mixed feeling about it. Pinkie Pie isn't a favorite pony of mine, and almost every episode except for Party of One is kind of "eh" for me. I liked the idea of having a character like Cranky in there.

Sweet Candace February 20th, 2012 5:18 PM

To be honest, the only thing that was good about the episode Saturday was the Smile, Smile, Smile song, although it was a little long...

LynLyra February 20th, 2012 5:42 PM

Yeah, even though it ended well. Pinkie Pie was just being rude and abnoxious.
Not a good lesson for kids.

"If they don't like you, get in there face and make them like you" . I would of liked the message better if it were "Not everyone will be you friend, but the friends you have will make up for it" or somehtng along those lines.

Sweet Candace February 20th, 2012 5:49 PM

Yeah, Pinkie blew EVERYTHING out of proportion and did some drastic things to try and get Cranky to be her friend.

That's what I love about Pinkie!

Also is it me or does that one pony (I believe her name was Apple Fritter?) bear a striking resemblence to Philia from the Tales series?

I find the lesson that Pinkie learned to be a good lesson, personally. While Pinkie did push it a bit so Cranky would become her friend, Pinkie learned that getting into one's face isn't how to make friends. Even when you make friends, you must learn to back off and allow said friends to have the space they want. While she didn't learn this until the end, at least she learned the lesson, and it is something kids should learn. Just because you are friends with someone it doesn't give you the right to start going into their face about everything. Something that a lot of people need to learn these days in my opinion.

I will agree that Pinkie blew things out of proportion and there could have been another lesson for her to learn from it, but I think in-between all that, she learned that you shouldn't be forceful when she backed off at the end.

That said, I liked the episode. I adoooore 'Smile', and I was happy to finally see the episode in which it came from.

Party of One is better with insane Pinkie Pie.

Party of One was a completely different episode then Friend in Deed. You're kind of comparing apples to oranges, and comparing two episodes with two different plotlines (not to mention there was no real "insane" Pinkie in Friend in Deed).

Yes! Scientists are taking bronies seriously!

Wow, he's planning on putting his research into a scientific journal? Also writing a book about it? That's freaking amazing. xDD;;
Can't wait to read more about it.

Anyway, I did some more fanart here. o3o

I'm going back to this profile. I wish to be a part of the club, but under this name. The reason for wanting to create a new profile is not valid anymore, and I'm more comfortable with my older username. Thank you. c:

Okay, we're going back to the beginning? All right, the user list will be re-updated and you're username will be put back onto the list.

I'm joining
- Favorite Episode: Luna Eclipsed
- Favorite Main Pony: Fluttershy and Raindow Dash
- Favorite Side Pony: Derpy, Applebloom, Doctor Whooves, and Sweetie Belle.
- About Me: I was pretty skeptical at first about watching MLP. I've seen a ton of fan art on DeviantArt and wonder what it was about, but was worried about what my family would think if they knew I was watching a girls show. I learned that my little brother also watched the show in secret and that he was a brony. And I'm proud to say I'm a brony.
