Amanita's PC!

Title explains itself. How do you organize the boxes in your PC? This isn't really a feature new to Gen 5, but it's the only generation I've kept my PC as organized as this.

Right now, I'm only using 8 of them. I haven't really captured much, and for the time being, I'm just training. As far as my mailbox, I don't even use it. I wish we still had the Item box with the starter potion in it. (like most generations did). = (
_____________________________________________________________

Dream W): I keep all of my Dream World pokemon in here. I don't really use a lot. I plan on trading or breeding the majority of them.

Breeding): My breeding box consists mostly of starters and pokemon that normally can't be obtained in Gen 5. My pokerus infected pokemon also go in here. Maybe I'll rename this one to trading. Probably makes a bit more sense.

Import.): (As in, "important"). Before I finished the game, this box was used to switch out the pokemon I used for battling and HMs. Now, they're just pokemon I like. Not necessarily EV trained either. :3

Legendary): All my legendary pokemon. Usually trade them.

Random): Takes up two boxes and they're both full. Pokemon I caught for my pokedex. I'll probably release most of them pretty soon.

B/W Team): My Gen 5 team I plan on training. They're all bred and lvl. 1 with good natures.

EVs/IVs): Pokemon I EV train, or pokemon with good IV's.

The rest are labeled "unused" and have the plain wallpaper. Yeah. I have a lot of time on my hands.

Also, protip of the day: Put at least one pokemon in every box, and you will unlock a few more. Helpful if you're running out of space for organizing them.

Zayin April 21st, 2011 10:27 AM

I name all the boxes according to their wallpapers: river, sea, sky, forest, etc. Then I place my Pokemon in the box they fit the most in.

Seeds Horizon April 21st, 2011 10:27 AM

*shrugs* Just reset my game, so only have about half a box full of Pokemon. I dont really breed or anything, and usually my boxes are disorganzied on every gen ive played so far. Dont really see much sense when you can just scan through real quick. Also since I dont EV/IV train and do competitive, I see no real reason to sort *shrugs again* so my boxes are usually just filled with random Pokemon.

Neiko Star April 21st, 2011 10:57 AM

I sort them out by Pokemon type. I also have special ones like Elite (where I put my team or previous teams), Legends (Legendaries), Nursery (eggs and the like) and since I had extra space, I named one Stars for Pokemon I often use in Musicals.

linkinpark187 April 21st, 2011 10:59 AM

I do the same thing that I do with every over Pokémon game. I have it set up just like this: PSY/DRGN, GRS/BUG, FIRE/PSN, WTR/ICE, ELCT/STL, GRD/ROCK, GHT/DARK, NRML/FLY, and FIGHTING, each one with a corrosponding background (such as beach for PSY/DRGN, forest for GRS/BUG, river for WTR/ICE, etc...). The rest of the boxes are used for multiple/miscellanious/team storage. It works. At least it does for me.

JP April 21st, 2011 11:02 AM

I always mean to arrange my boxes a certain way, but I usually just leave them as is. Whatever I catch usually stays in that box until I remove it for whatever reason. The only kind of organization I remotely use is between Pokemon I have and Pokemon that I use.

AusDon April 21st, 2011 11:03 AM

I never realized I was the only one who sorted pokemon by importance.

Can't believe I didn't catch on to the wallpapers. Maybe I'll start putting my forest pokemon in the box with the forest wallpaper! :D

ZeviL April 21st, 2011 11:08 AM

Last few boxes with a full team of Pokemon in each one. Everything else in the first few boxes. Sorting out Pokemon is too much of a hassle.

NamelessGuy April 21st, 2011 11:24 AM

I used to separate my boxes by type, but that was too time consuming. I just keep them the way they are nowadays.

Starrodkirby86 April 21st, 2011 11:32 AM

I just shove them in there as I catch them accordingly. If I were to arrange them by specific categories or types, there's going to clearly be a lot more blank spaces in some areas compared to others which may be much more cramped. Eventually, it'll become too cumbersome and difficult for me to organize in such an OCD-like manner, so I already gave up in the beginning to curtail any possible stress in box-arranging matters.

Boarbeque April 21st, 2011 12:41 PM

The box is nothing special to me. I just throw pokes in there never to see them again.

PlatinumDude April 21st, 2011 5:34 PM

I organize my boxes by the order that I caught my Pokemon. I also have separate boxes for Synchronize Pokemon and for Pokemon I'm planning to breed.

donavannj April 21st, 2011 5:36 PM

I haven't bothered to sort the boxes this gen yet. :x

Though I usually sort them by whatever, and somehow there's usually some semblance of order in the boxes.

2Cool4Mewtwo April 21st, 2011 5:43 PM

I never sort them, so it's often hard for me to find the pokemon that I need >.<

However, once one of my pokemon reaches lv100 I just put them in front of all the other pokes that I own.

Misheard Whisper April 21st, 2011 5:50 PM

I have Party, Party (two boxes of stuff I use in my team or want to use), Bug Codec (my Larvesta breeding project), Legends, Legends (two boxes of legendaries), LIAMJUNK, LIAMJUNK (stuff I'm holding for a friend), and Randoms, Randoms, Randoms etc (where I keep everything else. I put the special wallpapers (Reshiram/Zekrom/Plasma etc) on my Party and Legends boxes.

JadeFires April 22nd, 2011 3:30 AM

I suppose I'm a little unimaginative, I have mine in order of level.

Such as
Box 1: 1-9
Box 2: 10-19
...and so on and so forth.

I also have an egg box and the rest are overflow boxes ._. 20-29 is always uber full for some reason.

JRoe April 22nd, 2011 3:41 AM

I always organize my boxes according to the national dex, so Box 1= 001-030, Box 2= 031-060, etc. and then I generally have a spare box or two for, Pokemon to Trade, Pokemon To Evolve and put into its correct space or Alternate forms of a Pokemon (e.g. Male/Female Jellicient). It helps me out a lot as I know where all my Pokemon are and gives me some indication of how far away I am from completing the National Dex.

Molts April 22nd, 2011 7:29 AM

I never "really" sorted my pc boxes. I would usually have one box for my main team, then everything is usually scattered around. These days I have a box as a list of Pokemon I need to breed, and a box of currently bred and trade-able Pokemon. Though from this thread I've been inspired to organize all my boxes now. XD

Rionix April 22nd, 2011 7:40 AM

I organize my box like this:

Box 1 - "My Box"
Box 2 - "RNG"
Box 3 - "RNG"
Box 4 - "RNG"
Box 5 - "Breeding"
Box 6 - "Syncer"
Box 7 - "DW"
Box 8 - "Shinies"
Box 9 - "Legends"
Box 10 - "Events"
Box 11 - "Gen 1"
Box 12 - "Gen 2"
Box 13 - "Gen 3"
Box 14 - "Gen 4"
Box 15 - "Gen 5"

Steven April 22nd, 2011 7:43 AM

Box 1 through 22 are labeled "30" to "649" for when I complete my Pokedex. All the Pokemon are in their designated place.

Then I have a box for random (23), and a box for my shinies (24).

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ April 22nd, 2011 8:28 AM

I sort my boxes by what Pokemon I still need to evolve/breed for more Pokedex entries and which ones I've already taken care of. I've also got separate boxes for legendaries and shinies, main party/battling Pokemon, and a special box for breeding with Dittos, a Flame Body Pokemon, and whatever I may be breeding at the time.

My box system may not look organized, but believe me, in its own crazy little way, it is xD

The Nightmare April 22nd, 2011 10:05 PM

I don't really sort my boxes but when I put my party pokemon on my boxes I put them separate not together and so as my dream world pokemon I caught.

Mayu98 April 23rd, 2011 3:50 AM

I keep a box for my Legendary Pokemon, currently Breeding Pokemon, currently caught pokemon, currently evolving pokemon, currently training to the maximum level pokemon, currently trading away locally, currently trading away for the GTS and my other boxes are for all of the pokemon's primary types.

I miss the item storage feature since I have a lot of items that I don't need at the moment. Instead, I created an item storage box filled with 30 carrier pokemon to hold my items, except I had to choose individual items only..

mikey April 23rd, 2011 4:53 AM

I never organize my boxes, lol.

But, I did make a box called PokeTransfer, where I put all the Pokemon from my HG that I transferred to my White.

Vrai April 23rd, 2011 11:42 AM

I don't organize mine. I just kinda... throw them in there and scour the sevenish boxes I have for whatever Pokemon I need. :(

TheUnown April 23rd, 2011 12:19 PM

I re-name each box one of the 17 types and throw in the Pokemon that matches x). I also have a box for extra eggs and another box for Legendary ones. And now that you mentioned it, I'm going to make a box for DW Pokemon too.

Dark Piplup April 23rd, 2011 2:21 PM

Well I haven't caught that many Pokemon so right now I didn't name or organize tham. But I have a box set aside called A-Team for my a-team.

Bloo April 24th, 2011 11:36 AM

I haven't organized my Pokémon boxes yet because I haven't caught that many Poké, but since I've been breeding Zoruas lately, I have an entire box named "Zoruas" devoted to the many Zoruas (With wrong natures :<) that I've hatched.

Bluerang1 April 24th, 2011 11:57 AM

I have Box 1 for my party/other useful Pokemon to me. Then I have the next 5 boxes with the Pokemon of Unova placed in order. I also have a box for spare Pokemon I caught and another for other Gen Pokemon I caught in-game. Same thing I did in Gen 4. But before I used to put them together in types.

Rai May 5th, 2011 2:07 PM

At first I was very confused because I heard there was going to be room for 720 pokemon but my PC only had eight boxes. I thought maybe my game had a glitch or something. When I looked it up, I was very relieved. But I think the method of obtaining all of the boxes is quite dumb to be honest :/

hiff8 May 5th, 2011 2:14 PM

Is ome times try to organize organize but then when i switch people in and out of my party it kinda just flops

jigglyppuff8 May 5th, 2011 6:45 PM

I should really get to organizing my boxes. All I have right now is a box dedicated to Jigglypuffs (BOX 8), one holding my old breeding parents, and three with reject offspring I'm offering to the GTS. Rest are just whatever.

Think of it this way: They give you what you need, when you need it. Simple enough. Otherwise, it would just be tedious scrolling through all 24 of the boxes.

adamant57 May 5th, 2011 7:25 PM

I dont really organize but I leave 2 boxes for me to store pokemon that I will offer in GTS and GTS negotiations

Osha_say_wott?! May 6th, 2011 1:14 AM

I haven't organized it yet, but I'm planning to rearrange all my DW Pokémon in one box.^^

TheGr8 May 6th, 2011 1:16 AM

Mine are scrambled around at the moment, for right now I have my team box which mainly consists of my ev'd pokes, and then a breed/ev box for the pokemon I am looking to breed. Then for 6 boxes I know it seems like a waste but I have one for each IV and the dittos with those certain max IV's because I don't have a flawless ditto.

Ho-Oh May 8th, 2011 5:25 AM

Mine's...not...really...sorted...at...all. XD

It's like a big mess, I tried to organise them by PokeDex number, that didn't work, then tradables, that didn't work. The only organisation is all the so far bred Lillipup are all in 7 or so boxes together and that the Pokemon that got traded to me are in two boxes. :(

I use the Reshiram box design for all of them, though :3

Count May 8th, 2011 5:38 AM

In the past gens, I always named the boxes according to their wallpapers and put pokémon in them that lived in that 'habitat'.

During the story of my current Black game, I had the boxes sorted at type. One box for every type and the pokémon were sorted according to their first type.

Today I finished the story and I started to order them by pokédex number seeing as I want to complete the national dex... but it's really time consuming and I don't think I'm going to keep this up xD..

phonastik May 11th, 2011 1:06 AM

Mine are all organised by type, with the backgrounds (kind of) matching the type. Then within the box, they're organised in ascending order of level. Yeah, I'm a bit OCD...

Yeah I know. But I have always sort mine by type and it is one of the first things I do when I start the game. I was annoyed that I had to wait to organize it until later.

King Gumball May 12th, 2011 12:32 AM

MY PC BOXES ARE COMPLETELY UNORGANIZED X_______x"

Yeah I just can't be bothered organizing my boxes this time round :(

Cid May 12th, 2011 1:11 AM

It's funny that Gen V is the first one when I actually arranged my Pokemon within the PC boxes. XD

If I remember correctly, I've got two boxes for Pokemon that would complete my Pokedex. The second box has specific ones that I actually caught due to liking them, yet not enough for me to add them to my team.
Another box contains my hatched Pokemon, each being grouped in one line within the box.
And then the fourth box that I use contains my HM buddies. This occasionally becomes the box where members of my main team temporarily stay whenever I need an HM buddy. To sum it up, I have four PC boxes in use at the moment...and yeah, I haven't finished the game yet to use more.

Xena May 12th, 2011 1:36 AM

I name my boxes after types. Not all the types fit so I pair a few like Dark/Ghost, Rock/Ground, Bug/Grass, and Ice/Water. I've always organized my boxes this way though. :)

ElectricScyther May 12th, 2011 6:32 AM

They need more boxes. How are we ever gonna get all 629 pokemon with 8 boxes?

Pouinks May 12th, 2011 7:15 AM

I have the following boxes, though it's the first time I've actually renamed and used them to classify my Pokémons:

Favorites: all in the title, the Pokémon that I prefer, and need to store from time to time

Evolve: Pokémon I captured and need to make evolve in order to complete my Pokédex (since I'm pretty early in the game, still)

Done: well, the Pokémon that can't evolve anymore :classic:

Dream: Pokémons I got from the Dream World

xx Pouinks

You'll get more boxes if you put a Pokemon within all 8 boxes, then when you press back and switch out of the menu, it'll add another 8 boxes. Then fill those with at least one Pokemon and you'll have all 24 boxes.~

MetalMario May 12th, 2011 8:23 AM

  1. n00bs ** This is the box I close on. It's sort of a carry-over from GenI/II, where you couldn't catch Pokémon if the active box fills up. I keep it empty unless my other boxes are bursting at the seams, in which case it handles overflow. I just hate newly caught guys ending up in the wrong boxes :P
  2. Norml/Fly ** Type specific boxes. Mostly untouched or incorrectly trained to evolve for Pokédex purposes.
  3. Fire
  4. Water
  5. Grass
  6. Electric
  7. Ice
  8. Psychic
  9. Dark
  10. Fighting
  11. Rock/Grnd
  12. Bug/Poisn
  13. Ghost
  14. Dra/Steel
  15. Legends
  16. Promo ** Includes anything from Mystery Gift, tickets, or DW.
  17. Breeders ** High IVs, males with useful egg moves, and foreign pokes I plan on breeding shinies of.
  18. Stock1 ** Mostly Lv1s with egg moves, starters, and other things which may be valuable for trades.
  19. Stock2
  20. Synchro ** Filled with Synchronize Munnas in different Natures arranged in a grid. +stat along the X, -stat along the Y. The remaining column contains Dittos with useful Natures.
  21. OMGSHINY ** Non-EVed shinies
  22. NU/UU ** EVed guys expected to belong to these tiers
  23. OU/Uber
  24. Staff ** My ingame team and slaves

If I run out of room in my stock or breeder boxes, I can collapse more of the type boxes into combined ones. At least we don't have to worry about Pokéradar this gen! I have 5 chained shiny boxes on Pearl!

skyluigi2 May 12th, 2011 9:14 AM

I have LOADS of full boxes called 'Pokemon' and 'Pokemon2' and 'Pokemon3' etc.
But for my main ones, I have 'Rares' for legendaries and just rare Pokemon, 'DreamWorld' for Dream World Pokemon and 'Temp' which stands for temporary, which is where I put my Pokemon that I don't have room for in my party (ones I'm training basically)

-totodile42

OneofFour May 12th, 2011 10:09 AM

I have 2 boxes full of EV trained, battle-ready pokemon (without items, of course), these are back in my boxes behind my legendaries, my dittos, and a box which has useful synchronizers and pokemon I need to EV and train to 100, along with my flyer.

The first 10 boxes are full of pokemon caught over the last couple generations, in case I need them to breed and train, for an egg move, or for pokedex filler.

I also have two boxes of pokemon valuable for either their egg moves, or female DW pokemon. Then I have one with some eggs which I didn't feel like hatching.

Cataclysmic May 12th, 2011 10:39 AM

I have a sort of organized chaos theme. I know where everything is, but there's no rhyme or reason to it.

In other words, it's too tedious and I'm too lazy to properly organize them.
