"Body jumper," Marisa squeezed herself behind Kerin. "M-mister government person...? Can you please go away?"

"Body jumper? What's a... wait, what? Government?" Kerin looked back at this Fausto person. He had a disgustingly ugly sweet smile on his face. It almost made Kerin want to puke. He pulled Marisa closer as Fausto looked directly at her.

"Sweetheart, can you please go die in the arena for me? Thanks."

Kerin felt his temperature rise quite quickly and his face heat up. What was with everyone and being so cruel to Marisa!? She hadn't done anything for them! Why?! Like the gods, for putting her in this tournament and Shiro and Ryuu and now this Fausto! It was just a bunch of crap Kerin couldn't taken anymore. He wanted to punch this guy so bad. To just break his nose, to hear that satisfying snap. Because this guy, oh this guy. He just reeked of evil.

"You son of a bítch," he let go of Marisa, clenched his fists and strode over, his nostrils flaring. Seriously, what was with people?! What happened to love and stuff, why did people have to be so damn disgusting. No little girl should have to put up with this! He bared his teeth, but refused to hiss like the usual vampire. As he approached Fausto, he shoved Amelia and the other angel he didn't bother remembering the name of aside and swung at Fausto's face. "You don't just talk like that!"

"You don't just talk like that!"

That was what the vampire that had been standing with Marisa this whole time yelled as he shoved Amelia and Shizuka out of the way, his fist swinging afterwards and heading straight for Fausto's face. Not wanting things on the helicopter to get any worse, Shizuka quickly reacted and snatched the vampire's wrist and pulled it back mere inches from its targets face.

"Instead of being a fool and rushing into something you don't understand, how about you just let someone else deal with the current problem at hand. Why don't you think about protecting your little friend over there instead of picking a fight to protect her."

Shizuka twisted the vampires wrist and shoved him backwards in the direction of Marisa, then turned his attention to Amelia - quickly locking eyes with Bernkastel giving off the 'I know more than you think I know' look to grab her attention.

"Amelia, what the hell is going on and what aren't you telling me? And don't play me for a fool because whether you're already ahead of me in this game or not, you're not going to make it as far without me as you would with me."

Chapter 2 - Amelia Kunjui - Angel District

'Calm down, Amelia.' I told myself, however my fists were still clenched at my sides. For the second time, Shizuka came to my aid. Even though he was silent, and just stood there, it was the best sort of protection I could have. Bern certainly wasn't getting into this mess, and Marisa? Kerin wouldn't allow her to get within ten feet of him. And when the little girl innocently asked for him to go away, she was met with a dark request. That made Kerin snap. He stridded over, fist raised to hit Fausto, but...He was stopped just as quickly. A force by the name of Shizuka had his wrist. The angel simply tossed him back in Marisa's direction, before looking at Bernkastel, and then myself. Fausto had a huge, prideful smirk on his face, which distorted his once soft, happy face into something disgusting. Shizuka was sort of... Threatening me for answers. I couldn't disobey, because I wouldn't stand a chance without his alliance. Taking in a deep breath, I hurried to him and said in a hushed voice;

"ItouchedhishandandIsawscenesinsidethegovernmentbuilding." I winced at how my words mushed together, but I continued to explain. "T-there's a body jumper in Fausto. He's taken him over, and... " I glanced at Marisa when she frantically began screaming out. I was too late to react. Fausto was right beside me with his kind, knowing smile. His grip was on my left arm, and... I could see his ghastly thoughts swirling inside his head. He was going to break my arm! My face went pale at this realization, and he was just beginning to push back on my bones, when he sort of... Fainted. I quickly jumped away from his grip, while inspecting my arm. I gaped, and coughed roughly as if to puke. A sharp piece of bone was pierced through my arm. My bone. It wasn't the complete bone, though. More like, a thin piece the size of a pencil. Maybe because i was overcome with shock, was why I didn't feel pain.

I fell to my knees, and began coughing. My insides whirled and contracted at the gruesome picture plastered into my brain. I was shaking badly as i let out a choked sob. Even though i couldn't feel anything, that didn't change the fact that a puddle of blood had formed beneath me. My head went fuzzy, as a cold sensation swept through my left arm. I couldn't hear anything around me. I was tramatized. Was I dying? I looked at my arm again, and paused. The blood. It was gone. The gash was gone. My bone was gone. I looked my arm over in disbelief. Healing was NEVER that fast. I looked around blindly, and reached my hand out in my confusion. What happened? My head...My arm...They were alright? Or was i going insane? Did i die? Perhaps not. Marisa must have slipped from Kerin, and she was now shaking my shoulder as if... I hadn't been paying attention.

"Ami! Ami, it wasn't real. Wake up, wake up!" Her voice sounded desperate. I blinked a few times, before everything hit me. What Marisa had seen.

I had been explaining to Shizuka about the fake, when Fausto ripped me away from him, grabbed my forehead, and pressed down. He backed away, and within seconds, everyone watched out as I looked at my arm with a horrified expression, before doubling over and coughing. I had gone crazy, over something he had done to my mind. Where was Fausto now?

I tossed my head around, to find him sleeping beside Nokoto. On the other side of him, was the body jumper. A man with a big body build, six pack... A muscle-builder. His forest green cargo pants hung loosely from his skin, with a brown belt holding them up. A small portion of his slick stomach was viewable, before a tight black tank covered the six-packed chest of his. Muscles bulged out of his arms, which were crossed over his chest in wait. He seemed to be in his mid-twenties. A narrow chin was pointed up mockingly, while two red eyes gazed down at me. His pupils, were like that of a cats. The final feature, was the spiked orange hair covering his head. Pointed in all different directions, the tip of each individual spike, was dyed a darker orange.

"I call that, self-defense." He muttered lowly. His voice was still a bit abnormal, but I could recongnize it now. I scrambled to my feet in astonishment, before backing away in fear. "Y-you're...!" He cut me off with the slight wave of his hand. "I know who I am. Your worst f***ing nightmare since the boogy man. Hello everyone. I'm Natruo, the designer of the 'Population Games'." He said it so calmly... The fact he was in charge of killing us all in the arena, sounded like nothing more than a job at McDonalds on his lips. "Now then, anyone else wanting to punch me? What about you, Mr. Lolita lover?" He cocked his head in Kerin's direction. "I'll happily make your remaining life in the arena a living Hell in exchange~"

Skymin July 7th, 2011 7:01 PM

As soon as Marisa had moved from behind him, Kerin rushed foward to stick to her. Who knows what could happen next! This... Amelia as the other angel had said, had just fell to her knees, coughing. Marisa grabbed her and shook her gently.

"Ami! Ami, it wasn't real. Wake up, wake up!"

"Marisa, what are you doing?" Kerin's eyes widened as he refused to believe what he saw. So, that's what body jumper meant! But... Fausto was fine now and a giant guy stood next to him. What exactly had just happened?!? The guy, those muscles, that hair! He didn't understand much, only that he was giant and could probably pulverise Kerin in a few seconds. Kerin silently thanked the angel for stopping him from punching him; if he had, he'd probably be dead right now. Wait, so, if ... had this giant guy been inside Fausto from the start? Had he been listening to their entire conversation? Crap, if he was... they were definitely doomed.

"Hello everyone. I'm Natruo, the designer of the 'Population Games'," the giant said. Oh shìt. Now Kerin was doubly thankful. He quickly gave the angel a funny look, which meant some kind of apology, but went back to staring at the giant, Kerin's hand still on Marisa's shoulder. He then looked directly at Kerin. "Now then, anyone else wanting to punch me? What about you, Mr. Lolita lover? I'll happily make your remaining life in the arena a living Hell in exchange."

Kerin knew when to shut up and that time to shut up was now. All he did was look at the man. Not exactly in fear, though he was kinda frightful what the man could do to him. Not apologetically, since he wasn't sorry for what he did. If he did anything to Marisa, Kerin would not hesitate to do what he was going to before. He just stared at him, his hand on Marisa and shook his head slowly. He had a lot of questions about the guy, like was he human, why did he design the Population games, what was he doing here, and so on, but Kerin figured he would have a better time getting answers from Marisa or maybe this Amelia girl. He would ask them later.

The_Original_Raitan July 7th, 2011 8:23 PM

At first the soft sound of the ringing between his ears brought Xavier a true and seldom quiet, but the moment didn't last long when the angel - Amelia planted a fist into Fausto, and yelled frantically at him. Of course Xavier couldn't hear exactly what she was saying, his hearing still impaired from the whole head banging thing, but the dreaded thing to Xavier at this point, was that they were all still loud. He just banged his head in the wall to deafen himself, and some of them didn't even give a glance at him. The only one being Ryuu. And it wasn't like he was going to be one to shut up, Xavier knew that much. "......" Xavier could feel his eye beginning to twitch from the noise level. Not good. He's never expressed a single sign of displeasure so quickly before. Not good at all.

The blood was still dripping from the gash Xavier had recently made and it began to mat his hair with the sticky red substance. In fact it was slightly beginning to break past the absorption, and it now began to slide down into view, working it's way down his nose. His face was beginning to mimic the color in anger, his eye still twitching as if he was having a seizure. Xavier could tolerate the random barking from his dog Toro, but with a sentient being? No, no, no, no, no. They know better. They know when someone is annoyed, irritated, or flat out angry. At least intelligent ones anyway. Which these people don't seem to be. At all. Xavier hasn't even been taught anything, he's only taught himself, and he's at prodigial levels of intelligence. Xavier modified an Ipod he found by his house, got it working with virtually junk, improved it's song capacity, downloaded his songs from other music devices, and increased the battery power to two weeks. Almost all of them are idiots compared to Xavier. To him, almost all of them are morons, idiots, inflated with ego, and loud. The only exceptions is the girl next to him, Paris, and the rebel, Bernkastel. Bernkastel was none of what the others were, and Paris was most likely inflated with ego, but it's better than being loud.

Now let's take a look at the people making him go insane in the corner, Amelia and Kerin. At first, Xavier didn't care much about these two, in fact he thought the boy was kind for acting as a brotherly figure to the vampire, Marisa, but now he was just acting like a guard dog. Barking at whoever dare insult or hurt his master. It was saddening, irritating, and pathetic at the same time. Saddening, that Kerin was protecting a girl that would most likely die anyway -though he isn't saying she will-. Irritating, by how loud and brash the boy would rebutle against the perpetrator. And pathetic, by how quickly he had fallen into the whole cutesy act. Xavier isn't saying that she's faking it per say, but she could damn well be using it to her advantage. Tch.

Amelia. Apparently the daughter of the leader, of the angel district. At first coming off as an innocent teenage girl, now comes off as an over reactive and loud, twit. What was there really to say here? She punched 'Fausto' in the gut, and yelled at the top of her lungs at him, when everything had calmed. Effectively ruining Xavier's chance at solemness in this hectic helicopter. There isn't really much else that she has done though, she wasn't consistent in this behavior, but at the moment, Xavier views her badly. Although this is very liable to change if she regains her calmness. Hm.

Then that was when the game master showed himself as the body jumper. The man seemed to give off a 'charming' sentence towards Kerin, who promptly shut up immediately when the man had announced his name. What was the name he said? Natruo? Stupid name. Idiotic person. Perfect fit. It didn't matter if Kerin had stopped talking, when there was another person, to fill the air with their own talking. And this man was most likely the most arrogant person in history, controlling all the possibilties of how they die. Xavier ignored his existance, wiped the visible blood off him, and turned to Paris with an offer she couldn't refuse. "Hey, Paris...If you be quiet, I'll let you do anything you want to me for the rest of the ride."

SV July 8th, 2011 1:59 PM

Ryuu had begun to tune out a bit after Xavier had banged his head on the wall, almost oblivious to the events that were going on around him. He kept his eyes shut, as if resting. Even through all the 'nonsense' going on, and the fact that Ryuu tried to shut them out of his mind, he could hear bits of their conversation, including mention of a 'body jumper' and other things. He didn't know what was going on, and at that moment, he didn't care. He just wanted the games to start, which is why he closed his eyes, and imagined himself at the Reaping, fighting. He often pictured himself doing things he liked when he was bored, or wasn't in the exact position to do them himself.

But nothing could take the place of the actual event, the actual process of doing it. He recalled times he went on a hunts. Before, he would kill randomly, often picking the hunted by the most trivial things, perhaps that they didn't have on shoes that he liked, or they gave Ryuu a dirty look. All were, of course, excuses just to kill them. But eventually, he grew tired of killing weaker people, and began picking people that could defend themselves. He often tracked down his 'victims' back in the Demon District, and 'analyzed' them, seeing if they would put up a fight themselves. Because of this, he had much more fun in his life. He had even come close to dying on three separate occasions, one injuring him so much that he was in the hospital for a week. He thought himself he was going to die.

Best fight of his life.

Ryuu had tuned back in to what was happening briefly as he saw a large man, not taller than Ryuu, but close, standing in front of them. He was large, muscular, and had peculiar spikey orange hair. How he had managed to get there was a mystery to Ryuu.

"I know who I am. Your worst f***ing nightmare since the boogy man. Hello everyone. I'm Natruo, the designer of the 'Population Games'."

Ryuu opened his eyes completely now, looking daringly at Natruo. He had a grin on his face. He turned to another vampire next to him. Apparently he must have done something to piss him off.

"Now then, anyone else wanting to punch me? What about you, Mr. Lolita lover? I'll happily make your remaining life in the arena a living Hell in exchange~"

Ryuu couldn't help to butt in. Like the demons back in his District, this man was a fighter. Ryuu spoke with vigor and an air of confidence.

"Is that an open invitation?" He asked Natruo, not breaking his gaze, as he smiled at the man.

Everything was just going back and forth from being calm to everyone losing their damn minds, but Shizuka definitely saw in Amelia's eyes that he had made his point and she was going to reveal to him everything he needed to know. The rules of the game had changed, no longer fighting for a championship to claim the grand prize of Self Pride Shizu was now going to be fighting for his life.

"ItouchedhishandandIsawscenesinsidethegovernmentbuilding. T-there's a body jumper in Fausto," Amelia began splurting out at Shizuka, "He's taken him over, and... " that was when Marisa began screaming. Suddenly Fausto had rushed passed Shizuka and knocked him backwards, the odd thing was that he had made sure to push his hand on Shizuka shoulder while doing so. The last thing Shizuka remembered seeing was him grabbing Amelia, but then everything took a turn for the worse. Shizuka began rubbing his eyes as they became slightly blury, which quickly followed with a searing pain that shot down his entire left said - a pain so strong it caused his left leg to give out and he crashed to the ground. Every pain sensor on Shizu body was now telling him that he was being attacked from within, it felt as if someone as fed him gasoline and then ignited his entire insides. Just as quickly as the pain began though, it vanished and the next thing he knew he heard people screaming more.

"Ami! Ami, it wasn't real. Wake up, wake up," a tiny voice screeched out of Marisa. Shizuka's eyes readjusted to his surroundings and he saw that Amelia was now also on the ground and Marisa was frantically shaking her. Her Shaking worked and Amelia began to come back down from wherever Fausto had just sent her. Speaking of which, where was Fausto? That was when Shizkua attention was distracted and drawn to Kerin.

"Marisa, what are you doing?" He was yelling at Marisa for shaking Amelia and moving away from his protection. It was also at this time that he glanced directly at Shizuka, their eyes meeting briefly and each other acknowledging what the angel had done mere minutes ago - in a sense saving his life. Returning his attention back to Amelia, Shizuka saw that she was now staring at something..actually someone. Now turning his head to see were her eyes were locked, Shizuka came upon Fausto's unconcious body and some jacked guy standing over him.

"That's a body jumper? Definitely wouldn't want that in my body," Shizuka thought to himself. The spiky orange hair was the first thing to be noticed and it clearly made this guy stand out in a crowd. Blood red eyes that burned holes through your skull stared Amelia in the face. Next was the simple fact that he was a large man, who was very well built and in excellent physical shape and he was wearing a black tanktop and cargo pants.

"I call that, self-defense," stated the mystery man suddenly.

"Y-you're..." stammered Amelia before being interrupted by our new guest.

"I know who I am. Your worst f***ing nightmare since the boogy man," he made sure to take his time and glance around the helicopter and look each individual contestant in the eyes. His cat like eyes flashing their dark red and piercing everyone, recording their images for later. That was when he cleared his through and began his small speech.

"Hello everyone. I'm Natruo, the designer of the 'Population Games'. Now then, anyone else wanting to punch me? What about you, Mr. Lolita lover?" His comment was directed at Kerin, good thing Shizuka had stepped in when he did or this scenario would definitely not be playing out as positive as it still was. "I'll happily make your remaining life in the arena a living Hell in exchange." And just when a normal person would thing the worst was over, it wasn't. Ryuu rejoined the scene.

"Is that an open invitation," he blatantly and sarcastically stated.

Chapter 2 - Amelia Kunjui - Angel District

Natruo. The designer of the population games. I stood there for a moment in utter shock. I had not expected him to make an appearance before us. After all, he was high-class. Above us. Our lives were as simple as they came. He felt no emotion killing us all, simply because he thought of us as animals. That was how we were prepared, too. Trained for our day, cleaned and dressed, before going into the slaughter house. I swallowed. This man, for a comparision, was almost like Ryuu. He loved fighting. He loved killing. However, he knew how to hold his temper. He was a cool cucumber, while Ryuu was a heated pepper. Natruo was dependant on physical combat, but he worked it out so his tactics were more... Professional. Sending in a wave of energy into the nervous system, he could attack your body from the inside out. I even heard, he could use these strings of energy to make your heart explode. He was also a body jumper. A person who could turn their body into a certain water-based form (Usually mist) and take over someones body. That was what had happened to Fausto.

I took in a few light breaths, and composed myself. Everything I had saw and felt, hadn't been real. But that didn't mean he couldn't actually pop my bone out like that. With those muscles, and his powers... He could rip limbs. I had been lucky. I gave Shizuka a worried look. I hadn't paid him any notice, but he seemed to have gotten it alot worse in terms of Natruo. He actually looked to have been in great stress and pain. I wanted to help, but Natruo's gaze was urging me to sit. So I did. Right where he had directed to. Which, just so happened to be beside him. I didn't object to this. He was in charge. He could kill us all without hesitation. We were easily disposable.

I decided to keep my mouth shut now, like I had from the beginning of the trip. Most likely, Natruo had been here from the very beginning of the helicopter ride. He had been observing us. He wouldn't have been discovered, if it hadn't been for me attempting to give back his ring. He would have heard the rest of what Bernkastel had to say, but she still said quite a bit. I wonder what he thought now? Did he know who was a rebel here? I was a dead girl if he did. No amount of money from my mother could stop him from sending me to the stockades. The gallows. Anywhere for my death. He wasn't infamous for his kindness. He was infamous for his ruthlessness. His towering demeanor. His sharp, spiked personality like that of his hair. He was a God, that was for sure. There weren't many original Gods now, but he was one of them. One of the most powerful people policially, and physically. He also, was intelligent. That was why he was in charge of our killing entertainment. He knew how to add the perfect spice to it. His best year, was probably the fifth. It was a year, where the contestants had been thrown into a rainforest. All the supplies needed for survival, seemed to be there. Pure water, edible food, weapons... Honestly, the participants weren't in any hurry to find eachother. But, within a few days of inactivity, he made an announcement into the arena. That a person would die, if said person didn't kill someone every twelve hours. Then it was a race to kill. People were immediately being hunted and killed in packs, before alliances turned against eachother when there were no more left to hunt. The final three. One angel, and two humans, finally made the discovery. The two humans had been hunting the angel together, when their twelve hours was up. They ended up slaying eachother, when their target was curiously looking on from inside a tree. She hadn't killed a single person in days.

Thus, Natruo had lied, and made all the other districts a laughing stalk to how easily they had been fooled. That one angel, had been the only one not forced to kill. She saw through the trick, and waited for everyone to kill themselves off. She was almost as smart as Bernkastel, so it was no wonder, the Gods allowed her to live with them. From then on, she had been a world-known scientist and researcher. That was the year, when Natruo came to our district to congradulate us. To shower our people with expensive gifts like they did with each victor's home district. I had been thirteen at the time.

My father had still been alive. My mother was a little less crazy with beauty, too. I was present whereever Natruo went, inside the government building. I had been curious of him. About the Gods. What kind of people were they? I had always expected them to be eight-foot giants in robes. He had dressed so casually for the occassion, I stuck out in my jewel-dotted pink dress. He teased me a lot. Asking if I was going to work in a candy shop because of how sweet I was. He asked if I was a candy. That was when my dad became angered with him. I didn't know why he was telling Natruo to leave. He just wanted to sleep with me. Wasn't that alright? My bed could fit him... I could get more pillows...

Once Natruo left to explore our district, my dad explained. Explained that Natruo didn't mean sleep in my bed. He meant touching me. Foddling me. And I had agreed to something that a thirteen-year-old should never experience. I still didn't understand, so I looked up the words he had used. I was horrified by my discoveries. When I next saw Natruo, I asked him why. Why he would want to do those things to me. He answered calmly, that he was going to marry me, and my parents couldn't stop him. My dad tried. And, a few days later, he died of a heartattack. I was sure Natruo had murdered him. And that's how I grew to hate the spike-haired man.

I pulled myself out of those horrible memories, to find an arm wrapped around my shoulder. Natruo's arm. I froze, and bit my lip to keep from whimpering. I didn't want him to touch me. Never. His strong arm ran around the back of my neck, before slinging over my opposite shoulder. My thoughts began to cry out for help. Anything, to get him away from me. I couldn't move. I was a statue, as his fingers trailed across my collarbone. I released a small, choked sound from my throat. 'Get off! Please!' My mind pleaded. But when I went to move away, he only pulled me closer. He knew I hated this. He knew I hated him. Was this a punishment for hitting him? I'd take a bullet any day if he would just... I looked up at Shizuka, whom was now being flocked by Marisa. If anything, I wanted him to help me out. To see how pale my skin has gotten, and to see the desperation in my face. To see my eyes pleading for him to do something. To ask Natruo to release me. Anything! I would tell Shizuka anything, if he could just get this problem to leave me alone.

Suddenly, he was speaking up to Ryuu's question. "Hm? Ryuu, was it? How about you stay silent, stay non-violent for now? I don't feel like messing up my clothing, to mess with you now. Wait..." He checks his watch and smirks. "Landing in about half an hour. So, how about tonight? Does that do you fancy, or do you need your beauty sleep~?" He teased. So, I guess he was planning on fighting Ryuu when there weren't any witnesses. Great. Just great.

Chapter 2 - Marisa Ryunatta - Vampire District

I gave out a small, helpless whimper as Amelia got to her feet. I knew where this would end up, and I was semi-worried about the result. I watched, as Amelia took her place nervously beside Natruo. His arm, immediately slid over her shoulders, and that's when I looked away, to worry over someone else. Shizuka. I reached out my tiny hand, and placed the fingertips on his shoulder from where he knelt. "Are you okay, sir?" I asked innocently. Of course he wasn't. His left side was practically useless in the pain he was in. I placed my finger on my lower lip in thought, but I hoped he understood this gesture. The gesture not to say anything. To perhaps, keep a secret. I reached down for his left hand, and began leaning back to pull up the giant. He was like, four times bigger than me, so it was pretty impossible for me alone to pull him to his feet. I only used the moment, as I heaved weakly for him to stand, to do my thing. Send a spark of my own energy, to send his nerves in order, and to realize he wasn't being attacked. Because, he was surely going to get a second wave if I didn't do this. Only, it would roll to his right side. Just as I saw his right arm flinch at the pain that Natruo caused, but it was like a little shock. It vanishedd just as quickly, with me holding him like his. When he finally did stand, I beamed. I immediately came back to hide shyly behind Kerin. "Uu. All good." I said, taking Kerin's hand so it engulfed mine. He was nice to have, even if he was a little overprotective. I carefully edged him away, and allowed him to sit back into his seat. Instead of myself taking the seat next to his, I sat directly on his lap; giggling and pulling his arms around me.

"Mew."

Chapter 2 - Bernkastel Vermillia - Demon District

I began tuning out of things, the second attention was removed from me, to Amelia and Fausto. I sighed in relief. I hated talking. Explaining. Besides, that whole taking the devices from the helicopter, hadn't been much help, because Natruo had been here the entire time. Either way, I didn't care. My attention was being drawn back to Xavier and Paris. The celebrity had an evil grin across her face, as her hands trailed his arm seductively. I blinked a few time, before walking over and sitting on the other side of him. Paris stopped, almost immediately; grumbling under her breath and pouting. I raised my eyebrows, but only a tad. Since when was Paris so easy to stop with her touchy-feelly-ness? Whatever, it wasn't my business, and it wasn't my concern. Instinctively, I reached down and picked up the rose which had avoided being trampled on. I gave it a delicate sniff. Hm.

Casually, I brushed my elbow against Xavier's arm as I adjusted myself into my seat. Looks like he didn't know how to put up a mental sheild. Which, was good for me. I leaned forward, and with two of my fingers, brushed the blood off his forehead. I showed the fingers to him, and gave him a blank look. If he could read my eyes, they were questioning. They asked, 'Why are you bleeding?'. Because, truth be told, I had not seen what had happened. With another touch of his wrist, I opened myself into his thoughts. Thoughts that consisted of how loud everyone was in general. I gave a short nod, as if to say, 'It'll be quiet soon'. Because, it was quieting down. The alarm from Natruo's appearance, was beginning to calm. Natruo didn't induce battle with Ryuu, so it looked like everything else was going to be quiet. Small chatter, at most. Pewita, Fang, Paris, Nokoto, and Shiro had been silent for almost the entire ride. Thus, we were going to enter a calm period now.

Skymin July 12th, 2011 4:48 PM

Kerin hurried to the angel's side as Marisa tried to heave him up. It wasn't hard for Kerin at all and practically took all the weight as Marisa stood up. Kerin was strong, not that anyone seemed to noticed anyway. It was all he had, his strength. That and his brains to help him here, though as everyone else had pointed out, he wasn't particularly tactical. When he was on his feet, Marisa quickly pulled away, leaving Kerin still holding him. Kerin looked over at the giant as he heard a squeak and saw Amelia in a choker hold. His eyes widened. He wanted to help, but he didn't know how. At all!

"Uu. All good," Marisa pulled on Kerin's hand, leaving the angel to stand on his own, and practically dragged him back to his seat. Kerin blinked. Was Marisa oblivious to what was going on with Amelia? Or was this normal, Kerin had no idea! She sat him down and onto his lap, pulling his arms around her. He had no objections, as long as she was safe, but seriously, didn't she see this? Maybe she had an idea what was going on.

"What... what's happening?" Kerin said quietly to Marisa, because he seriously had no idea.

Xavier's eyes began blinking at an abnormal rate as soon as Paris's expression shifted, and her hands began trailing along his arms. He said she could do anything, but exactly was she planning to do-wait. She stopped. Why had she stopped? Xavier heard a long sniffing noise next to him, and his head turned to view the source of the noise. Bernkastel. Why did she move from her seat? Wasn't she explaining all the stuff to the competitors-Oh yeah. The game designer was here, so most of everyone became quiet -or quieter- at his appearance. Praise the lord for that.

"........." Xavier's head turned from Bernkastel, as he closed his eyes in pure content. Finally. People weren't talking, with small speak at the most. Xavier could deal with that, just not all the insanity of what had happened moments before.

"!!!" Xavier's shielded eyes opened wide, as he felt Bernkastel's hands wipe the blood away from his forehead. Wh-why was she...? Xavier could feel a strange heat rush into his cheeks, as a light pink color brushed onto them. His bewildered gaze shifted from the ceiling, and over into her own questioning eyes. Xavier could read the blank look immediately. 'Why are you bleeding?' Had she not heard what happened? Tch. That proves how loud everyone was being if she couldn't hear him banging his head on the wall! Seriously! Xavier nodded his head at the wall past her, blankly. It was directly at the small dent made above hers. "....!!" She touched his wrist softly, and his cheeks deepened into a deeper pink.

Ryuu's full attention was towards the one known as Natruo. As for everything else that happened around, Ryuu cared not. He never broke his gaze from Natruo. Ryuu was painting a target on him.

"Hm? Ryuu, was it? How about you stay silent, stay non-violent for now? I don't feel like messing up my clothing, to mess with you now. Wait..."

Ryuu felt like laughing a bit at the first part of the comment. Ryuu had been violent his whole teenage life, even before that as well. He had never known non-violence. It was like asking a fish to live above the water for a week. Natruo checked his watch as he thought to himself, smirking.

"Landing in about half an hour. So, how about tonight? Does that do you fancy, or do you need your beauty sleep~?"

Ryuu felt his blood pump through his body. The toughest opponents he had faced was demons. He wondered what a god would be like fighting. He knew they would be even tougher. Ryuu hadn't felt this excited in a long time. He even felt a pinch of fear in him. Not fear of death, or fear of Natruo, but the fear of uncertainty.

"I thought you'd never ask", Ryuu replied, "Just say where and I'll be there. Best make the necessary preparations with your family. You might not see them again."

Ryuu grinned eagerly. A thought then occurred to him. He didn't know much about the gods and wondered if they even had a traditional family. Come to think of it, he had no knowledge of the humans, vampires, and angels' way of life. Of course, he didn't really care, but still, he was curious of what they went through in their own daily lives. But not as much as he cared to kill them.

-Raike sat in his seat silently, taking in all that had just happened. An angel had slammed some other human kid against the wall, at which Raike rolled his eyes, because apparently the helicopter wasn't going to last pretty long. But the kid started to laugh, in some kind of weird demented auto tuned voice. When that little Marisa kid had asked the "government man" to go away, he only did that weird laugh again, and then asked her to go die in the arena, a phrase he used against... well everyone in his district.

Fausto then grabbed the angels arm and would have broken it had she not pulled away. She kept muttering about something he had done to her mind, and looked as if she had gone crazy to him. The body jumper then exited Fausto's body and revealed his true form. The dude was freaking huge, sporting muscles a big as the trunk of some old oak, and probably reinforced with steel. His legs looked pretty thin, since his pants had to be held up by a belt, but it could just be the same thing with Raike himself, his body looking normal, but actually being a hell of a lot stronger than he looked.

His hulk arms were crossed across his chest. He seemed to be in his mid-twenties, even though Raike knew there was no way that could be true. He had a look on his face that just seemed to piss Raike off, like he was looking down on him as if he were nothing, with those crimson cat eyes. His hair was styled in the way of some kind of thug, pointing in all directions, making Raike feel that if anyone was unlucky enough to get impaled by those spikes, they would not be likely to see tomorrow. He then made some stupid pun about him being their worst nightmare. Seriously? Raike had heard that too many times. He made some threat, asking if anyone else wanted to punch him.

Raike rolled his eyes, suppressing the urge to walk up and steal him. This guy was obviously stronger than everyone there, because even Bern wasn't moving against Natruo. Ryuu then decided to challenge him, typical.-

"Ryuu, as much as I would love to see you get owned, you know attacking him would be stupid, and your not completely incompetent."

-He glared at Natruo for a few seconds, then arched a brow at Paris, sighing.-

"Really? Here? Out of all times?"

Chapter 2 - Marisa Ryunatta - Vampire District

I swiveled my body around, to face the boy with curiousity. What did he mean? There were plenty of things he couldn't possibly understand. To even comprehend. I cocked my head towards my shoulder with a questioning look. "Mew?" I shoved my hand into the pocket of my dress. This dress, with the ruffled sleeves and little flower designs, used to belong to my mother. Well, before she abandoned me. I loved my mother, but she had... Problems with her brain. It didn't work right. Just like my father's brain. She had hysteria, while he came a monster bent that everything wanted to kill him. Sometimes, i would hear him yelling to himself inside the study. Accussing a someone who wasn't there, to stop hurting his wife and daughter, when really, it was him. Him beating us with fists and him locking us away. He would always come to his senses and act worried, but both of us knew the truth. He was a complete madman. One day, he stole my mother away in the night, and they never returned home. A few days later, i learned that the barrier surrounding our district had been cut off for a brief moment. That was when a group of twelve vampires, fled. I heard that they caught and killed ten of them. The other two, were deep in the Human District before they were shot.

I had been abandoned, so with nowhere else to go, i turned to the orphanage. I always hated that place. The terrified visions i got from the children... Were real. They were beaten if they did something wrong, and they never left the grounds. All home-schooled.

With my meager belongings, i pretended to fit in among them. Most of them were bruised, pale, and bandaged. Some were completely insane. A small group of kids, were the example of perfect health. Well-fed, glossy hair, and high grades. This group was known as the "Pretties". They were treated better than everyone else, simply because they could hold a smile on those perfect, pink lips.

That their eye color was just the right shade of hue. That they knew manners like the back of their hand.

That was how they avoided beatings. By being perfect. They didn't even have to be old. They could be as young as six, to be pampered with the best rooms. The best food. Everyone else, was slated with only three meals. They weren't even big. Enough food for these child slaves to work. One time i saw a little boy sitting in the hallway. He was blocking my way, so i nudge him.

He fell over dead, with a bottle of kitchen cleaner in his grip. It horrified me that a boy so young, had killed himself. I couldn't have possibly understood his situation, because i wasn't like him. I was a pretty.

I pulled the contents of my pocket into my palm, and held them out into my view. A few blood capsules... Elastics... And several little discs of metal. Hardly the size of my pinkie's nail, i picked two out, before shoving my hand back into my pocket. I held one out on my finger for Kerin to see. Just a tiny disc with a sticky backing. I reached out, and placed it behind his ear. His hair obstructed it from view, too. I did the same to the back of my left ear, and smiled happily.

'Uuu! There! Br--Kerin, now we can have a...A...Private convo!' I thought. Only, it was no longer a private thought. It was spoken as clear as day, right into Kerin's head. It worked both ways, too.

"Mew!"

Chapter 2 - Bernkastel Vermillia - Demon District

I saw Paris glare at me from the other side of Xavier, but I only shrugged in return. If she really thought she could scare me off thgat easily, she had another thing coming. Smoothing Xavier's wrist with my index finger in a calming motion, i planted my other hand on my hat. Normally, i would keep my witch hat low enough to hide faces from my view. So people couldn't see my eyes shift red. I lifted my hat up ever so slightly, to watch Natruo. He was getting real comfortable with Amelia. A little too comfortable to my tastes. But i didn't intervene like many were probably thinking. I just sat in silence like when i first got onto the helicopter. Only now, I took in my own silence, to study Natruo. Twice i had seen him previous to now. Both occassions, after my participation in the Population Games. So, my question was why he was accompanying us now? Maybe because of Amelia, but that still didn't make quite enough sense. I thought this through, right until Raike disrupted Ryuu's decision to fight Natruo. I immediately disagreed with this outburst.

"Raike," I said, fixating my eyes onto him. I didn't realize they were still a bloody red. "It's his decision. I would rather you not..Express your opinion."

The second i was done addressing the human, i lowered my vision to the floor. I could feel a sort of slithering sensation in my left arm. That just happened to be the one closest to Xavier. Hence the 'slithering', i glanced to find myself looking into the beady eyes of my snake tattoo. This snake, wasn't any known species on Earth, so i didn't have a name to call it in front of everyone. Lucifier, was the name i privately used. It's skin was a canvas of star-shaped holes, which were the windows to my real skin. The rest of the snake, was black. I watched with mild interest, as it's head slid down right to my hand. It was looking at Xavier's hand now, like a target.

Just when it looked like it was going to slither right off my skin, I used my other hand to cup around it's head. Immediately, the rest of it's long body began thrashing around on my skin like a real snake. It's tail was up to my shoulder. I took my left hand off of Xavier's wrist, and placed it on my lap. "....." A light hissing sound was beginning to emit from my arm. But, you'd have to be rather close to hear it. Well, and it would have to be quiet.

Skymin July 14th, 2011 1:43 AM

Kerin blinked a few times as Marisa put this thing behind his ear. What was it, a microphone? A parasite? One of those fake earrings? Marisa put one behind her own so Kerin wasn't too worried.

"Kerin, now we can have a... a... Private convo!" Kerin heard Marisa's voice echo in his head. Kerin rubbed his finger over the device. So it... was attached to his brain? That sounded too silly to be actually possible. Although, Kerin would never have believed 3 years ago if someone told him that he would be a vampire in the near future. He smiled. So... how did it work? Marisa hadn't said anything, did she just think it? Wait, if that was the case, was whatever he was thinking getting transmitted into her ear? Aah! The whole thing was just damn confusing!

'H-hello?' he thought quite stupidly. Was this how it worked? 'Can you... hear me?'

Geez, he felt stupid. And now, if Kerin guessed how this thing worked, Marisa knew he felt stupid. Great!

SkyisUmbreon July 14th, 2011 8:14 AM

"Oh, sorry Bern, I forgot we don't have freedom of speech anymore...tch"

-He had seen her blood red eyes staring into his, but he wasn't intimidated by them, or her. It was just that there was no point in trying to hold Ryuu back, and frankly, Raike wondered why he had even cared to say something in the first place. He scowled, and leaned back in his seat, closing his eyes and crossing his arms once more. His breathing became more controlled, as if he was sleeping. In his mind, he began to think of a way to escape the game.

He had a feeling the fields closest to the walls of the arena were littered with mines and other deterents. The forests were probably even worse, who knew what could be hiding in there. How did the gods get their power, or did they have any weakness at all? These questions began to frustrate Raike, the more he contemplated them. Another question popped into his head, "How would he survive?" He sighed, knowing he would probably have to use all of his wit to get through this one.-

(ooc: long post ahoy!)

Chapter 2 - Marisa (x) Kerin - Vampire District Joint Post

I tilted my head at how awkward his thoughts were sending out. I knew why, but i always found it amusing.

'Uuu, no worries, br--- Kerin-sama! I can only hear the thoughts you allow me to hear! Haiiiii!!!' In reality, i gave him a short, happy wave. 'Nows! You had a question mark face.' I did my own, cute impression by doing a double-take. I laughed almost immediately. An adorable giggle which sounded like someone was getting tickled with a puppy.

Kerin gave her a warm smile back. Well, at least she wasn't worried about this Natruo guy that much. Which meant Kerin shouldn't be either. Anything she was scared of was something normal. Anything she was completely terrified of was something worrying. And anything that didn't waver that cute smile of hers was something that shouldn't be worried too much about.

'Oh good,' Kerin... thought back at her. Well at least his private thoughts could be kept that; private. He wouldn't want her seeing some mopey Kerin when the conversation would change to something that would spark a memory or something. 'So, uh, um, what exactly is going on? And who exactly is this Natruo guy and why is he here? And where are we going?' It probably would have helped if he watched at least one of these things. Ugh, stupid Kerin.

'Going on? There are lots and lots going on~!' I gave him a huge smile, before hugging my skinny arms around him. "Umms~ Natruo is a God! The one in charge of the games, Kerin-sama. So... Don't anger him, pwease.' I looked off in said God's direction. 'Its best not to show fear, sir. He takes advantage of that. But, he's the most scariest thing besides the president, sir. Very, very scary.'

I paused. I really hoped he knew who the president was. 'Um. I think he was ordered to spy on us. And we're going to the God's District. Mostly for training. Mew.'

A god, huh? Kerin nodded along as Marisa thought to him all he needed to know. Okay, so don't piss the god off and don't be scared of him. He could do that, probably. Maybe. Probably! Definitely! Yes, for Marisa, he would. But the scariest thing besides the president? Kerin glanced at him out of the corner of his eye. This guy was tough, though really... he didn't look like it. If he wanted to freak Kerin out, he would need to be a massive, fire breathing dragon with loads of poisonous barbs and maybe some wings. To be compared and placed next to the president, he seemed like nothing. If he was almost as scary as him, why wasn't this Natruo guy destroying regions and creating natural disasters or something else god-like?

'Training?' Kerin looked over at Marisa. 'What... do we need training for?'

I noticed the look he gave Natruo, and immediately spoke up. 'Just wait until someone gets on his bad side on ground, sir. You'll see. He's not allowed to go blowing stuff up, because... When we're not entertaining the Gods by dying, um... We're their slaves. We make stuff for them. From limber to jewelry... Can't have injured slaves, right? That's why hospitals are so minimal. They don't need a slave with their arm missing. Natruo brings them to the Gods District, and kills them...' I shuddered at the thought and without meaning to, added to my fears. '...When you die, they take the wings and make them into clothing. Your hair makes wigs. Your eyeballs are played around with, so some God has sight. Your limbs might even be used by an amputee.'

I nuzzled into Kerin as gruesome images surged through my brain. Thankfully, i was conscious enough not to pop them into his mind. 'Training so even weak people like me, can put up a good show. They like it... Bloody.'

Kerin narrowed his eyes and looked back at Marisa as she hugged him harder. Disgusting. Gods were disgusting. And better yet, they were going to the district to train. What could he learn while he was there? Kerin was already okay with fighting and nothing could really make him stronger than he already was; he could break a bone with little effort if he had to. Magic? Kerin had never shown any sign of that, despite a vampire's natural talent and him being one (though he would happily give up an arm to change that). Though what would Marisa learn? How to dodge? How to defend? She didn't seem to have the muscle for offence unless she was hiding something.

'It's okay, I'll make sure they won't hurt you,' Kerin smiled at her, making sure his thoughts were well heard. He meant it. He just hoped Natruo didn't plan on taking Marisa out first. Kerin would risk his life, yes, but he doubt he could keep his promise if there was a full frontal attack on her. He would need Fang's help if that happened. Who had been silent the whole helicopter ride. Kerin's eyes hovered over Fang for a second before back to Marisa, smiling again.

When i looked back up at Kerin, he was smiling down at me... So i smiled back. His smile showed, that he thought everything was going to be okay. That somehow, he could save us both from death. I saw his gaze trail to Fang momentarily. I had taken a look his way beforehand, and he had been sitting there like a statue. Arms and heels crossed, with a look of pure concentration creasing his face as he stared down at his shoes.

'Uu. Fang's good. He's just in deep thought, is all!' I reassured Kerin, nodding. Everything had grown silent in the helicopter, except for the occassional disagreement or weak conversation. I looked in Bern's direction, to see red eyes looking past me, to Raike. A shiver immediately ran down my spine. Her eye color had changed from emerald, to ruby. Well, more like the color of blood. It was the same shade as Fang's eyes, too. As i watched her talk, a look of alarm and horror spread throughout my face. I watched the snake tattoo do it's wiggling dance on her arm. That wasn't what bothered me.

'Kerin-sama. Don't look at Bern or show alarm, please.' I thought, quickly curling my body inward to remove my expression. 'Her eyes were red when i saw them... And...Hauu...' I placed my chin, right onto the vampire's shoulder.

'I saw fangs. And... She's a demon, isn't she? Hau au au... Did you see the snake on her arm?'

Kerin slowly glanced over at Bernkastel and did indeed see the snake but it didn't strike him as that odd. A moving snake on the wrist might be bad omen or something, but this was coming from a demon who had just summoned a rather larger and more sinister demon barely an hour ago. And her eyes being red? Though he didn't know what the usual demon's eye colour was, he saw plenty of red eyed vampires. So what if they could change colour? Kerin's own brother Axel claimed his own hazel ones changed in the light or with his mood or some other kind of garbage. Maybe it was a less drastic change (from brown to a greeny-brown rather than that dimmer colour Bernkastel's were to red), but it didn't bother Kerin that much. His eyes drifted back to Marisa. Should he be worried?

'As far as I know,' Kerin shrugged. 'She summoned that demon before, is the snake another summon maybe?'

I squinted my eyes curiously. He was serious about never watching the Population Games before... I guess i would have to change that. He didn't seem to understand what tattoos meant to a demon.

'Uu. Kerin-sama... Yup, a summoning, but she isn't doing it willingly. Um... How to explain...' I closed my eyes and laid against Kerin in a tiny ball. 'Wells! When we're in the God's District, i'm gonna show you the previous games! We need to get her as an ally real bad, br-Kerin-sama.' I paused to think, and played with Kerin's fingers with my tiny pair.

'Let's invite her out to the roof tonight! Au! Au!'

Kerin gave her a sheepish smile and nodded. That would be a good thing, since he knew next to nothing about the whole deal compared to everyone else. And... not willingly?

'How do you know she isn't? What, the snake has its own brain? So what is it?' He nodded back at her request to team up with her. Fang had the right idea with that and Kerin himself had thought the very same thought several times. 'Wait, tonight? What are we doing other than training?'

'Uu. The snake is like that demon she summoned earlier. A real demon from the...Underworld, Kerin-sama. She's covering it's eyes. It was trying to go onto that boy's arm.' I was talking about Xavier. The boy who had wacked his head against the walls. The one who was just as emotionless as Bernkastel.

'For a few days we train, and then we do an interview! Today we're not training. Today we're meeting our stylists and getting a tour of where we're staying. Like...A leisure! Tonight we can have a little party on the rooftop!' Bern will be able to do anything!'

'Onto his arm? Okay... Uh, why?' Kerin's eyes drifted back to the snake on the arm. He almost laughed at himself. Marisa, despite how young she looked, knew a heck of a lot more than Kerin did about anything. That was probably because he had done nothing with his life as a human and less than that as a vampire. Or maybe he was just stupid. Probably that.

Kerin's eyes drifted back to Bernkastel's face when Marisa mentioned her name. He felt a small knot form in his stomach. She was definitely planning something, was she going to do her thing tonight? Kerin kept the thought to himself; he didn't want Marisa worrying over anything.

I let out a soft giggle. Alright, i knew alot, but not everything. 'I can't read snake brains if that's what you're thinking, Kerin-sama. I only know a tiny bit about Bern, but... She's very mysterious.... Uu! I think we're close to landing!' I beamed. Finally, we could see the sky and breathe fresh air... I looked forward to that the most.

Chapter 2 - Natruo, The Game Designer - God District

"Hm, you don't say..." I grinned at Ryuu. Not because i was happy, but because it amused me to hear his opinion on the outcome. Ha... Haha. I knew how it was going to turn out, so i simply threw my head back and grinned at the ceiling. "Family, hm... I guess that won't be a problem with you. I'll be sure to keep that in mind, so i only hold back sevent-five percent of my strength~" I paused when i felt the helicopter tilt a fraction to my left. I looked down at the floor, and then at my watch; my grin turning into a frown. "Damn. It already began storming..." Great. Wonderful. My schedule was ruined. "Midnight, training court. I doubt you'll be late." The helicopter lurched severely to the right, and i grunted. "Good God... I'll kill these pilots if they so much as tilt this thing more than forty-five degrees..."

Chapter 2 - Amelia Kunjui - Angel District

I shivered in Natruo's grip. His body was so cold, even though the helicopter's insides were so... Heated. How his skin could become so chilled, was another point to how reptile-like he was. The eyes. The hair. The muscles that protected him like scales... A snake. No, a dragon. That's what he was. Some cold serpent.

I swallowed, and hesitantly began to pull away from him. Immediately, i was attracted back like glue. I tried again, and this time, i was rewarded. His arm slid away from me, and i scooted over so i was back beside Raike. My heart was in overdrive by how terrified i was. Practically everyone was scary. Bern with her high-standing streak, Ryuu with his fists and rotten words. Natruo because he was the Game Designer... Even Marisa was creeping me out. If only i could find a way to touch her... Then i'd know who she really was. If she was some sort of rabid animal underneath all that pure white fluff of joy...

The_Original_Raitan July 17th, 2011 10:33 AM

Abnormal.'

The perfect word to describe Bernkastel Vermilia, at the moment. First, she had engaged combat with Ryuu, which was abnormal. Second, she had thrown an arrow between Paris and him before, which was abnormal. Third, she had talked longer than expected, which was abnormal. And now, Bernkastel had moved out of her seat, over to the seat next to Xavier's, sat down in it, and began to lightly rub his wrist, which, you guessed it, was abnormal. Why was she acting like this so suddenly? She had always seemed to be so .....collected? Was that the right word to use, for the comparison? Hm....

Xavier's eyes trailed down from her face, down to his wrist; more specifically, Bernkastel's thumb moving in circles on his wrist. It was soft, and gentle as it moved throughout the spot. It was....oddly soothing. He let her continue the action, as his eyes trailed from the thumb, back to reality. Back to what was happening in the helicopter. Had they even taken off yet? "......" Of course, the first thing he heard when he came back into tune, was this, "Is that an open invitation?". It was the village idiot, Ryuu.

Xavier almost rolled his eyes at the pathetic little excuse of a creature, but his hair had moved out of his eyes; can't let anyone see him do that. They didn't deserve to see him make an emotion. Nobody does. He just wanted to be left alone in his house anyway, but NO. The gods have to go make a little conspiracy theory that he'd be a rebel. Idiots. How could they expect him to be a rebel, when he had only met a human being, when he was eligible for the reaping? Oh well, now where were we? Oh, looks like the God had heard the idiot's question.

"Hm? Ryuu, was it? How about you stay silent, stay non-violent for now? I don't feel like messing up my clothing, to mess with you now. Wait..."

Praise the lord, for that. The pompous little ass-hat, Ryuu, was going to get what was coming to him. He was going to be massacred first hand. Xavier wanted to be able to see that, but sadly, he wouldn't be able to. I mean if Ryuu's a competitor, the fight would be held under-wraps, right? So Natruo could get away with it....Wait. Did he just see a flash of red come from Bernkastel?

Blinking, Xavier slowly swiveled in his seat, and turned to look directly at Bern. He could see her eyes have shifted from her old emerald eyes, and to a ruby color. Wait. When did this happen? But most importantly, why did this happen? It doesn't really make any sense why her pigmentation would change so suddenly....

Xavier decided to ask her about it. "...............Bern? Why are your eyes red.......?" He tilted his head ever so lightly at her.

Eeveemaster9 July 17th, 2011 11:36 AM

Chapter 2 - Bernkastel Vermillia - Demon District

My gaze shifted to Xavier in alarm. My eyes?! Opening my mouth slightly to protest, but only coming short with a swallow. My eyes were red. Right. Red, not green. Ruby, not emerald. Pretty creepy for a demon. I exhaled deeply, and my expression calmed to a blank.

"Red? I believe you've gone around the bend... They've always been green..." I pinched the snake tattoo by the head, with the edge of my mouth flinching in pain. It did the trick. My eyes were green again. I looked up, as if to inspect the lighting. ".... How about now? It's just the lighting, i'll bet..." I glanced around. Who else had seen? I doubted i could convince more than one person that it was crappy lighting. Red was a much different color from green. 'Thanks, Lucifier. Just what i needed.'

Lucifier was going crazy on my arm. It looked rather pissed with me. I honestly didn't care. I didn't need it changing my eye-color. Under my breath, i quickly breathed out;

"Speaking there of a Viper's fang, not needed is the poison. Take hidden. Take refuge, beneath thy soul." Lucifier really did not like this. Hissing loud enough for maybe Xavier to hear, he squirmed up my arm, to my collarbone, and disappeared head-first into my left side. I acted indifferent.

"... I do hope we land soon... I'm beginning to get a headache,"

The_Original_Raitan July 18th, 2011 11:00 PM

If Xavier's hair was out of the way, Bernkastel would've been able to see the surprise in his eyes. They were lightly widened, and they blinked rapidly in utter confusion. Since when was Bernkastel of all the people in the world, surprised? It didn't quite figure up to her, reputation, persay. Bern was blank, just like him. Again, it didn't make even a fraction of a sense. "......"

"Red? I believe you've gone around the bend... They've always been green..."

"........?" Xavier continued to blink even quicker, when she questioned his sanity. That was just plain rude. Xavier is a person who experiments, and his best observation tool, is in fact, his eyes. His eyes didn't deceive him, and he knows it. He just does. "....I doubt it Bern....You're eyes pigmentation, was in fact, red. I'm not dumb...." Xavier turned his gaze to the ceiling, but his ears tuned in to Bernkastel's whispering, and the small hissing sound emanating from her. Inwardly, he sighed. Xavier was going to have to ask her about it later, it seemed. ".....Me too....."

Eeveemaster9 July 18th, 2011 11:36 PM

Chapter 2 - Bernkastel Vermillia - Demon District

"You're hardly dumb, Xavier..." I mumbled under my breath. I didn't mean to insult him. I just didn't want anyone else to know that my eyes changed color. They never did in the previous games, thus i didn't find it to be necessary to show that they are this year. I had to keep all my new skills under wraps so that my movements weren't as easily guessed. I leaned off in Xavier's direction, and whispered into his ear.

"It runs in the family, no doubt." I would let him decide who i was talking about there. His knowledge, or my eye color transformation? When, he would soon realize i meant both. I tilted my head, and by my angle, i could just make out his right eye. I brushed my hand casually over the side of my head; like the lights were blinding my eyes. My left eye, now shaded by light... Well, one could see the flecks of white that sprinkled my green backing. They seemed to glow, really. "... Runs in the family," I repeated, before turning my attention to the sudden jolt beneath me.

Next thing i knew, Natruo was announcing the time with his autotuned voice, as the helicopter's hatch lowered down.

I clasped my hands together. I had this whole setup memorized. Well, besides Natruo's appearance, everything went just as planned. Everything was going to work out this year. I turned my attention from the opening door, to Natruo. He was grinning at me. I just gave him a slight wave, before standing to my feet. He probably left a present in my room like last year. He really needed to stop pestering me outside the arena. These next few days, were for training and luxury, not harrassment. I gave everyone a quick look, before walking a few steps to the opening mouth of the helicopter. And, I could see what laid before me.

A gust of wind had entered the machine that had protected us from such weather, which sent everyone's hair in a mad dance. Especially mine. Planting a hand on my hat, I kept my eyes squinted open and took a few steps forward. It was chaos outside. Rain pelted the helicopter like no tomorrow, which was a pain to the ears. Patter patter... Endless pattering. I took a deep breath, and moved forward. I hated stormed. Loathed them, really. I just wanted to huddle up in my prison/room with a cup of hot chocolate pressed between my palms. I humored myself with the thought of dumping the burning liquid on someone's face. A certain someone. My eyes flickered to my shoulder, but I continued to move down the slop of the exit. The rain was coming down so hard, visibility was a miracle, let alone the ability to make hearable conversation. Just at the edge of the slop, was a line of guards holding two umbrellas each. One open for themselves, and another for one of us. I snatched the first umbrella in my path, opened it, and stepped myself out into the rain. The wind was blowing my umbrella around so much, I was getting drenched anyhow. I squinted off into each direction. My left, and my right... All I could see was some structures towering up into the sickening, swirling black clouds.

Only I, out of all the participants, knew what they were. There were four of these buildings surrounding the training center, which would act as out temporary homes. Nobody outside our group and the government, knew what happened here. No cameras, no listening devices... Just as every other year. To my guess, I believed we were between the Human District Tower, and the Demon District Tower. In front of me, was the training center; a two-story building which would house plenty of stations in the morning. I made a mental note to stay clear of weapons when Shiro, Jin, or Ryuu were around. Speaking of which, Jin was probably all cozy in her new room as we stood here in the rain.

Sighing, I released my grip from my umbrella, and the wind immediately stolw it away. The black umbrella tossled around in flight for a moment, before lamely crashing to the ground and being dragged through the overflowing green grass. My skin stung from the cold drops plastering my body. Without a moment of hesitation, I approached the building, swung the door open, and marched inside.

Inside, it was kind of like an abandoned ghost house. No windows. No anything. Everything was wiped clean from this place. Cement flooring, swept clean of any traces of this place ever having been used. The walls were blank, too. Completely white. I led myself off away from the door, and focused on my drenched clothing which stuck to my skin. It was a gross, weird feeling. Slime-like. I raised my hands out, and immediately, every drop of water exitted my clothes, and i stood in a puddle; dry. "....." I watched as the newly soaked participants entered from my left. Marisa seemed to like being soaked. She was awestruck by this completely boring building, as she ditched her inside-out umbrella, and held Kerin's hand. She pointed around, beaming at the four elevator doors in this place. One on each wall. There were other doors like the one we just entered through, but...

A huff of air escaped my lungs. The air smelt of something new to my nose. It didn't normally rain in the Demon District because of how far south we are. Angels would be used to this cold. This rain. This smell. It rained practically every other day there. Humans and Vampires got it lucky. It was neither too hot, or too cold. They are adaptable, while angels and demons are not. I unhinched my wings from my back. Rain. I do not know how angels put up with it. Wet feathers, meant no flying. Flying was the world.

I shifted myself over to the two vampires, and instantly, Marisa noticed. She gave me a funny look, as she eyed me over. She was probably wondering how i managed to stay dry, while everyone was soaked to the core. I gave her a blank look, as i walked over. "...." I touched the tummy of her dress, and pulled my finger away. A stream of water was being pulled out of her. Once she was dry, i did the same to Kerin silently. With now two balls of water in my hand, i nodded towards Shiro. She was leaning drowsily against a guard. I pressed my hands together, and gave Marisa a slight nudge, as if to say, "Watch this". I stretched the water out in my hands like an elastic, aimed, and fired. The waterball slung over Shiro's head, before falling down and drenching her. Her head whipped around in confusion, since she was inside. She seemed a little relaxed and non-psychotic from the girl on the television. She almost seemed stupid. She blinked, before doing a double-take and looking up. Just slightly, my lips curved into a smile. Marisa was giggling. Natruo glared at me. I shrugged. I had to have fun at some point in my life...

"Uuu. Bern-sama? Wanna come over at...Um... Ten tonight? We're gonna have a party!" Marisa opened out her arms as she said this to me. A party? Before we die? That was a first. I kept my blank look, as I nodded slowly. Alright... Not like I was busy... Marisa beamed and glomped me, almost to the ground. "Yay!"

Chapter 3 - Marisa Ryunatta - Vampire District

The second that hatch opened, I was bombarded by cold gust of wind that left my skin tingling and my hair a mess. "Uu...Brr..." I curled up closer to Kerin as my body began to shiver. Cold, cold, cold! I watched as Bernkastel, along with a few others, left the helicopter into that... Coldness! Hugging my hands underneath my armpits, i hopped myself off of Kerin. I hate being cold. I shifted from one foot to the other to been my body warm. "C-come on. Let's go, Kerin-sama." Before he could react, i zipped through the crowd of people leaving the 'copter, took an umbrella from the least scary guard, and BOOM. The moment I open it, it's in reverse. "Eek..!" I cry out as the umbrella drags me around like a rag doll. Actually, it was fun! I laughed out happily as i leaned back and let the umbrella carry me around. It was like waterskiing! Suddenly, someone grabbed me from around the waist, and pulled me back to the ground just as quickly as I was rising. Fang. I pouted cutely, but I thanked him anyways. Boo. I wanted to fly around! I found Kerin just as he was getting an umbrella, and I clinged my wet self to him. "Mew!" I didn't really pay attention to outside, but i knew we were surrounded with huge buildings and stuff. Like I could see anything more than that.

I beamed brightly, when we came indoors. A huge, empty building with only the room we were in. A gigantic room, with a tall ceiling. "Wow!!!" I cried out, dragging Kerin away from the people streaming through. "Lookie! Lookie!" I pointed to the elevators. I had never been in an elevator before! Were we gonna go in them? If so, I wanted to ride it a million times! Giggling even more, I threw my broken umbrella off into a corner. Didn't need that anymore!

My attention turned to a figure moving towards us. Bernkastel. "....?" I looked on curiously at her clothing. She was dry. How'd she stay dry? Why DID she stay dry? Water was AMAZING!

Storms and lightning and thunder were amazing, too! She came over, and did the exact opposite of what I wanted. She did this weird, but uber cool trick where she touched my tummy, and this string of water just like, was pulled out from me! I felt like a plum, being dried of my juices. I pouted a little more, but, alas, what Bern was doing was just TOO COOL to ignore! I looked on in awe, as she repeated the process on Kerin. Why was she doing this, anyways? She was being silent,and she just approached us out of the blue! Maybe she liked us already!

Then, Bern did something weird. She nodded towards Shiro to get our attention on her. Shiro was that meanie girl who picked on me in the government building, but... Kerin rescued me! She was a big bully, but ever since we saw her strapped to a wheelchair, she's been completely out of it. She acts drunk and silly and completely bonkers. Not psychotic and mean and bloodthirsty... That happened a while ago, so whatever they did to her, was long-spanning. Which, if you haven't noticed, didn't have me complaining.

Bernkastel nudged my shoulder, and I looked up at her in confusion. What was she planning on doing...? She did this odd thing where she stretched the water like rubber, before releasing it into the air. I gaped, as the ball stopped directly over Shiro, before turning back into a liquid. Shiro's face was PRICELESS as she did a double-take, and wondered about how she was dumped with more cold water from inside. I was a giggling mess! When I finally calmed after a few moments, I looked up to see a small, itty bitty smile cross the demon's lips. I beamed. Yup! I was totally sure now!

"Uuu. Bern-sama? Wanna come over at... Um.... Ten tonight? We're gonna have a party!" Bern gave me her usual blank expression in response, before nodding her head ever so slightly. I exploded in happiness, and glomped the older girl. "Yay!" I cried out.

Chapter 2 - Amelia Kunjui - Angel District

"!!!" I jumped as an unexpected blast of air surged through. I had been in my own little world for the last few minutes, I hadn't realized we had landed. No, I was busy thinking about my family. Being the only daughter of my mother, I was supposed to take over as the new government leader when she retired. But now... Would I ever see her again? I hardly believed she wanted to see me after all of this. As I thought about it, I really did love my mother. She didn't deserve that slap... She was trying to cheer me up. To let me forget about the fact I would probably die, and laugh at the whole lipstick thing. She hadn't meant to hurt me. Would she forgive me before I died? The least I could do, was show her how much I appreciated everything she did for me, during the interview. Maybe then...

I stood up as people began to clear out. I didn't want to be stuck with Natruo at my back. Creep. I shuffled my way around, but i didn't push or shove. I kept my distance, but I made sure to stay somewhat near to Shizuka. My only ally now, and probably until I died. I didn't have any fantastic skill which would be useful... I was useless in terms of most magic. Physical fights would be an impossibility...What else was there? My looks? I doubt I could send Ryuu on love-lane if he was drunk on murder lane. There was just my Sense Feeling ability, and how much good would that do? Yeah, looking through a tree will definitely keep a two-hundred twenty pound man with a sword at bay. Yeah... Not.

I didn't really mind the cold or the rain, once I got used to it. It was an instinct, I suppose. I guess I could only hope for a cold, snowy arena this year. That would be my best bet. Demons disliked the cold. Humans could die from the cold... Vampires would be the only threat. If I stayed high where they couldn't reach by ground, I may have a snow-balls chance in Haiti at winning.

I politely refused the umbrella offered to me, and stepped out into the storm. The rain had me weighed down within seconds. I liked this feeling. The cold water freezing my veins... It soothed me. It made me forget things, and just... Go with the flow. I stood there, eyes closed, as I took in this feeling and embraced it. I was originally going to have a cold shower, but a cold, refreshing rainfall was so much more than that. I extended my wings out, so my feathers could be purified. My skin, feathers, and soul... Purified of everything nasty I had witnessed or recieved. Deminished to nothing more but the murky puddle at my feet. I inhaled through my nose, and out my mouth. This smell of freshness. Of just... The rain. The sight of drops sliding away on leaves... The sound of the water pattering Earth at an endless rhythm. The feel of just being... Weightless, even though the rain pounded me to the ground. The taste of everything around me, in the smallest form of air reaching my tongue... Just... Amazing.

But, I eventually had to break away from this trance. The guards were becoming impatient with me just standing there. I wasn't mad, though. I was pure.Unwavered. Naturally blessed. I simply smiled, and slid myself inside to join the others, who were too caught up, to realize just how much the rain cured. I felt optimistic. Everything was possible with little effort. You just had to find the best place to store that effort. Not in living on Earth, but by living on as a soul. That was how my effort was going to be used. To keep my soul living, not my body.

With a soft smile, I approached Shizuka. "I'll tell you everything, and you don't need to threaten me." Before he could react, I leaned in and kissed his cheek with a small peck. I only smiled, as I spun on my heels and headed towards the elevator marked "AD".

Chapter 3 - Fausto - Human District

How depressive, getting the news you were used as a meat puppet by the person smacking down everything to kill you in an arena... I came to after all the shaking Nokoto put me through, however... I didn't really want to wake up. What was the point in living if you just die in the end... From birth, we all share a few common things. Negativity, wounds, heartbreak, and death... So why live if that's what you're going to get? Counsellors can sugar-coat a piece of garbage all they want, but i'll never hide the foul flavor. So, instead of taking a bite out of life, I'd rather just leave it alone.

Nokoto gave me a worried look as I thought about all of this. She asks if i'm okay. Of course i'm not, you stupid girl. Nobody is 'okay'. I smile warmly at her, and take her soft, beautiful hand into mine. I speak in a whisper, my answer. "I'm more than okay, being with you," I can't believe she believed that cheesy crap. No love is immortal. Everything dies, sweetheart. She blushes a harsh, yet cute pink. Good God. She reaks of sweat. I can't believe we haven't all died from air poisoning. I take a strand of her hair, and give it a sniff. I smile, as if she smells of the best perfume. Hardly. Wash your hair more than once a year, girly.

As people begin to slide out of the helicopter deathtrap, I can't help but notice the gloomy weather outside. Finally, something as depressed as me.

I don't pay much attention to everything else. I ignore the offering of an umbrella, and I trudge through the sad downpour. It weighs me down. Just like this life. When I get inside, I immediately head to the Human District elevator. I just want to be away from these people. I hate them all. I hate myself. I hate everything. When Nokoto asks what I'm planning on doing, I tell her, I plan on cooking up a storm. She laughs as if that was funny. Hardly. Cooking up a storm... It's going to be a tsunami that will drag everyone down to drown.

The_Original_Raitan July 20th, 2011 6:31 AM

"You're hardly dumb, Xavier..." Bernkastel mumbled under her breath. Xavier blinked, wondering why or how she'd know that, but it didn't quite matter to him. He didn't mean to have her think he was insulted. When you say you weren't dumb, it was just suposed to be like a figure of speech. You say that when someone had done something that is obvious to you, and they deny it, right? That's what Xavier thought anyway. I mean they used to say that all the time a thousand years ago....Did people still use those sayings? Xavier does sometimes....Maybe that's why she thought he was insulted. Hm. "....."

".........!!!!!!" Xavier's concealed brown eyes began to widen, and blink at an unatural rate when Bernkastel suddenly whispered into his ear. Even his cheeks were gaining a pink tint because of the action. Wh-wh-what is she doing?! "It runs in the family, no doubt." Wait. Did she mean his intelligence, or her whole eye changing thing? Well, the smart thing to do here, is just to assume that she did both. That way he's sorta right, without being wrong. Or he's just fully right, he guessed. "... Runs in the family," she added, while his face turned to the ground, at the sudden shock under his feet. They had landed.

"........" Xavier blinked when he caught sight of the game-designer grinning at Bernkastel, then at herself waving at him. Were they....friends? That didn't make much sense to Xavier, so he automatically dismissed it. There was no way that the man, Natruo he believes, would be a friend with the one person he's failed to kill for the past two years. There was absolutely, positively, no way in hell, that they were friends. "........"

"!!!" The moment the door opened fully, a gigantic gust of wind rushed trough, sending every last persons hair into a madhouse. "!!!" Xavier freaked as every single strand of his dark brown hair was moving madly, all of it now out of his eyes way. Quickly, Xavier shielded his eyes with his hands, spreading apart his index finger, and his middle finger so he could see. Oh lord. He thought that all the conversations were bad. "...." A constant patter of rain hit the helicopter. It wasn't what Xavier liked. He liked soft rain, where it seemed to sooth him, but this was horrible. It was a reckless rain, coming down like an endless plague. He never will understand why angels liked this so much. "....."

Xavier walked towards the exit, and a gaurd stopped him to offer an umbrella. ".......No." Xavier shook his head at the man, before stepping out of the helicopter his wings shielding him from the rain. "...." He took a look at one of the angels, and he was doing the same thing. Looks like he was smart enough to use his body as well. "....." Turning his gaze from the angel, he continued to walk ahead, his pants getting somewhat wet, while his torso was perfectly dry, and his head getting a few drops every now and then.

".....?" He looked up at the building in front of him quietly for a second, before realizing what this building probably was. It was the training building most likely. He had never actually seen pictures of the building, but he knew that participants had to go through some sort of training. It'd make thing interesting for the gods. Personally, Xavier didn't think he needed any training, he has been doing magic for fun his whole life. He has like fifty billion magic books anyhow, and he's practiced countless different spells. It'd be easy. The only thing he's need practice in, would be a weapon. He probably wouldn't use one anyway, but oh well. "......"

Slowly, Xavier stepped inside, blinking at how absolutely plain the room was, only white walls and such. It was just....just...odd. The only speck of detail he could see was the four elevators, but even then, they still didn't really count. "......" Xavier moved to a wall in the room, sliding down it, and sitting criss cross. He rested his elbow on one of his thighs, then using his hand to rest his head. Xavier had a blank expression on his face, but he curiously watched Bernkastel. She had a puddle underneath her feet, and there was no evidence she had been wet AT ALL. "....Hm...." Xavier patted his wet somewhat wet hair down, it falling halfway down his eyes, but it was good enough. Not saying it didn't bothered the hell out of him. ".....?" He blinked when he saw her dry Marisa, and Kerin, then drench Shiro even more. Since when was Bern a deviant? "......" He turned away from the scene, holding his face in his hands.

Skymin July 20th, 2011 6:43 AM

Kerin screwed his eyes up as everyone stepped outside of the helicopter; it was wet, cold and windy. It was almost hilarious, watching everyone's hair (mainly the girls') go insane, whipping around in the wind as if they were trying to escape from the head. Marisa grabbed him and pulled her self close, shivering violently. She was in a summer dress, the girl must be frozen! Kerin quickly pulled his parka off and wrapped it around Marisa, at least covering her arms. It wasn't long though before she was hurrying off somewhere else.

"C-come on. Let's go, Kerin-sama," Kerin managed to hear over the whistle of the wind before she had disappeared and reappeared over by the guards, grabbing a umbrella and immediately opening it, which was not the best idea with this wind. Inevitably, the umbrella pulled itself inside out and began pulling the small girl along with it, before she was caught by Fang. Kerin smiled at himself and quickened his pace, grabbing an umbrella himself as Marisa thanked Fang. Opening his own umbrella against the wind, keeping it in its actual shape, he shaded himself and now Marisa, who had clung back onto him, from the rain. It didn't do a whole lot of good though, they were already quite wet. Kerin smiled as he put an arm around Marisa and the group walked inside the approaching building.

Marisa, being Marisa, was first to react, adding some wows, oohs, aahs and giggles to the crowd. She grabbed Kerin and separated themselves from it, pointing at a few things and commenting on them. Kerin nodded and smiled at her as she discarded her umbrella. And again, it did not take long before her attention was stolen by something else. Kerin turned around as Marisa did, blinking at Bernkastel as she approached them. Her eyes... they weren't red anymore. Did that mean something? It didn't really matter anyways. Though there was something weird about her; she was completely dry. Before Marisa could ask about it, Bernkastel did some weird demon magic, pulling the water out of Marisa. Kerin gave her a small "thank-you." At least now Marisa wouldn't get frostbite or pneumonia or... wait, could vampires get diseases like that? He didn't know. He blinked at her as she did the same magic on him. Ah, that was better. It was wamer, and not as disgusting against his skin. He nodded at Bern, thanking her again.

Though, what she did next was rather unexpected. Using the water she had taken from the two, she formed it into a ball and dumped it on a still kind of drugged Shiro, who looked like she almost pissed herself when the icy water hit her head. Marisa broke into a giggling fit and Kerin couldn't help but let out a laugh. She was a stupid psychotic cow (though she didn't look like it now) and probably deserved it. Too bad she wasn't fully conscious for any of it. A fight between Shiro and Bernkastel, that was something Kerin wanted to see.

"Uuu. Bern-sama? Wanna come over at... Um.... Ten tonight? We're gonna have a party!" Kerin looked at Marisa and then at Bern, who nodded in reply at the invitation. Marisa pretty much jumped on her, squealing wildly in excitement. This time, Kerin let out a hearty chuckle. Marisa was so innocent and naive and cute, it was just... it was just funny.

"We'll see you then, I guess," Kerin smiled and nodded at Bern. You know, despite how grim their outlook was, it really didn't feel like they were going to die soon. He felt good, the best he had in a while. To see Marisa smile just warmed him, he didn't need his hoodie anymore. He had wished so hard the last 3 years to have his family back and he had gotten a small portion of it back, just with a different face. He twisted his biker cuff on his wrist, the one that hid his bites. Despite his temporary family though, he missed his old one. And most of all, he missed Quinn. Maybe though, maybe if they watched the games this year, they could see him trying his hardest to get back.

"You still cold?" Kerin asked Marisa as she released Bernkastel from her terrifying grip. He still had his hoodie, the one he was wearing under his parka, which was now on Marisa.

Social Kibbles July 20th, 2011 7:16 AM

Shizuka had pretty much gone into a trance after Marisa had revived him from his attack by Natruo, a quick flash of his entire left side of his bodying giving up on him and leaving him unable to physically scream out in pain - but he did on the inside the whole time. But this little girl, who he ruled in the beginning would be quite the competitor, had saved him with a mere touch - he was now eternally in debt to her until he repaid the favor in his mind. Shizuka's little trance was quickly destroyed by the sudden gust of wind that came through the helicopter doors he hadn't seen open, not that he had felt the helicopter actually land either, and everyone's clothing and hair began to swirl around in every direction.

Well, apparently we're here.., he thought to himself. Everyone began marching out of the helicopter one by one, Shizu watched and took another second to look every competitor up and down one more time. This was probably going to be the last time things were as 'calm' as they had been, well that is calm to the types of people everyone who was here was. Shizuka was one of the last to stand up and as he reached the doors he stopped and let the down pouring rain that was now splashing against his face revitalize him. Shizuka continued down the ramp, his ears ignoring the sounds of speaking around him and just honing in on the drip dropping of the moisture hitting the ground beneath his feet - the rain was so relaxing and healing to him. One of the guards tapped his shoulder and interrupted Shizuka's thinking and his eyes flashed a bright blue color as he began glaring at him - he was offering up an umbrella. Shizuka extended his wings and knocked the umbrella from his hands while continuing to glare in hatred at the guard, he was caught off balance by the Angel's sudden extended wings and had stumbled backwards and fallen. Using his wings, Shizu created his own umbrella and used them to cover him slight as he continued to walk - the rain still came crashing down against his face and dripped down each strand of hair. Hopefully when the time came for him to fight for his life, it would be raining.

Got to keep those things to myself, don't need to give away my own secrets so early on, Shizuka continued to talk to himself. That was when he reached the doors and returned his wings to their closed state and walked into the large room, everything covered in white, and his eyes quickly shifted around the room and located everyone he needed to; Bernkastel, Marisa and Amelia. Bernkastel and Marisa were both dry, but how Shizu wondered, and Amelia was heading in his direction as soon as she noticed him come inside. He didn't have time to react to anything that had happened next, what was this girl doing to him and why had he felt the need to protect her since the beginng..

"I'll tell you everything, and you don't need to threaten me," and she then leaned up and kissed him on the cheek. Kissed? Why had she done that, what was the reason behind everything going on. Shizuka told himself to stopping worrying so much about the simple questions like this because he had learned he was clearly blind to the worlds he thought he had known. All he knew now was that his future was paired with Amelia's and if he was destined to die, it would be dying to protect them both. Protecting anyone who would be willing to sacrifice themselves to help bring down this corrupted government they were all living in. With that he followed after Amelia in quick strides, water still dripping from his hair and the tips of his wings.

Chapter 3- Bernkastel Vermillia - Demon District

I nod slightly in Kerin's direction in approval. Why was I even bothering going to this 'party'? There wouldn't be any meaning for me. Nothing for me to gain. These people were probably going to question me. Ask me questions which they hope would appear innocent... I suppose it was because Marisa asked me first. If it had been someone else, I would have been more hesitant. I remove myself from Marisa, and happen upon a scene which makes me raise my eyebrows ever so slightly. ".... I got to go," I mumble, swiftly moving from the vampires without a second glance. I had seen Amelia kiss Shizuka's cheek. Odd. Very odd. As I pass Shizuka on his way to the elevator, I whisper into his shoulder, something he was probably waiting for. "You have my attention," and I was off. Not a single pause. As I walk off in Xavier's direction, I look over my shoulder to purposely watch Shizuka. Hm... So, Amelia kissed him. That definitely got my attention indeed.

I'm directly before Xavier, when I finally pull my gaze to him. His face is covered behind his hands. I give him a blank, emotionless look. Why bother outcasting yourself, when you could just go to the elevator? I sigh lightly, and take one of the hands pressed against his face. "No use being here," I breathe out, simply because it's true. I didn't need to speak with anyone else. I wanted to rest up in my new room before the 'party'. However, I wasn't going to leave Xavier here, because he honestly looked like he wouldn't move without being told so. "Let's go," I lightly peel his palm out from his face, taking in the chocolate eyes beneath. "....." I avert my gaze, and begin to pull him along for a few steps, before breaking away and moving to our elevator. Paris isn't here, so that must mean she's already in her compartment. Ryuu... He's watching me with hawk-like eyes. I stare right back. He had a fight with Natruo in this very room, at midnight.

Once Xavier's at my side, I make a point to fixate my attention to the opening elevator door. The elevator itself is quite a large amount of space. You could have about twenty people lay in here. The crimson carpet is welcoming, as well as the glass walls that reflect our faces back at us. "....." I step in wordlessly, and spin on my heels to face the training room. A control panel, like last year, is formed into the wall. As Xavier comes in to accompany me, I press the button marked "Dining Room". The sliding doors close shut.

Chapter 3 - Marisa Ryunatta - Vampire District

When I pull away from Bern, there is a huge, unwavering smile on my lips. She agreed! Extremely happy, I glomp Kerin next. Bern pardons herself, and I pull the parka closer into me as the older vampire asks if I am still cold. I shake my head. "Au au! Kerin-sama's park'chi kept me warm!" I playfully raise my hands and wave them around; the long sleeves past my hands fumbling around. I giggle, and take Kerin's hand. "Let's make a Biiggggg party! Really really big, desu!" I wave over at Fang with my other hand, who is standing by the door in a sort of trance. Fang had been rather silent since boarding the helicopter... He needed to be happy and active for the party! "Boooo Fang! Come!" He blinks up at me, grins, and runs over. "So what's happening with Bern, Mari?" I take his hand into my right, and beam brightly. "Bern is gonna come to our party!" Fang raises his eyebrows. Right. He didn't know. "A party with me and Kerin-sama and Fang and Bern and really special people!" Fang's eyebrows only go higher. I huff cutely. "Uu... While we wait, we're gonna watch a Population Game with Kerin-sama before Bern comes over! It's gonna be fun!" I say, pulling the two boys over to our elevator. I couldn't wait! Supper while watching the seventh Population Game! Then, Bern would come over... Everything was so exciting!

"Hau au au! Onward!"

The_Original_Raitan July 21st, 2011 3:04 PM

Xavier simply, kept his hands laying over his face rendering him sightless, but his ears, sadly for Xavier, continued to take in the noises of his surroundings. Chatter. Mindless, boring, useless, stupid, chatter. There was no need to talk mindlessly. Only if something of importance was needed to be said, then he'd understand. But what he's heard from all these people sounds absolutely--!!! "!!!" He blinked into his hands, when he heard the sound of lips smacking. Did...somebody, or some people, just kiss? Here? ".....?" Really? Wouldn't that be something to do in private? Hm....

Soon, Xavier's wandering thoughts were interrupted, when he heard the soft sound of footsteps moving towards him. Didn't they see that he was away from the group? Didn't the person see that he had his face hidden away? Weren't those pretty sure signs that Xavier wanted to be left alone. They were pretty easy signs to show that someone didn't want to be spoken to, or just wanted to be left ALONE for that matter. It's all the Game's fault. If he hadn't been picked he would be able to just rest, and most importantly, BE ALONE. How difficult was it to see that he just wanted to be alone?! REALLY?!

"......" The footsteps stopped suddenly, and Xavier hoped and hoped and hoped, but he never did hear the footsteps walk away. Damn. Xavier felt as if he should go off on the person, but he automatically dismissed that option. He wouldn't go that low as to be hypocritical. He hated hypocrites.

"....." Xavier blinks as he hears a sigh, then blinks even more when a hand is taken off from his face, and into another hand. Who would be bold enough to touch him of all people. Xavier looked up. Answer to the previous question, Bernkastel Vermilia, that's who. "No use being here," she breathes out. Xavier blushes as she removes his other hand, then stares down at his unconcealed brown eyes. He stares back at her emerald colored eyes, his pair brushed with light surprise. Why was she doing this? Again? First, she holds his wrist on the helicopter, second, she whispers into his ear, and now, she was holding his hand. Why?

Xavier's blush increases to a dark pink, when Bernkastel raises him up by dragging him over to the elevator. She let's go halfway, and for awhile, he could only stare at her moving body dumbly. He was shocked from all her actions. "......" After blinking a few times, he snaps out of his daze, and walks over into the elevator. Xavier stares straight in front of him blankly as the elevator shuts close. The dark pink still remained on his cheeks.

"Hau au au! Onward!" Marisa pulled Kerin and Fang towards the vampire district elevator, her enthusiasm quite unmatched. Wait, if they were going to the vampire district's area, they were still missing one. A drugged, ditzy, psychotic one.

"Hang on a second," Kerin left Marisa with Fang and stepped over to Shiro and her accompanying god. The god gave him a funny look as Kerin pulled the vampire away but didn't say a word. Just as he rejoined the rest of the group, the elevator arrived, as well as frowns and such from Fang and Marisa. Kerin gave them a bleak smile. "She's still drugged, might as well dump her somewhere. I don't know, I feel sorry for her, okay?" He made a face. Yeah, he would feel sorry for himself later when she snapped out of it.

They all got into the elevator, Kerin pushing Shiro gently into one of the corners then taking Marisa's hand. There were several buttons to choose from, though Kerin picked the one that he was looking forward to most; their rooms. Each button even had their names next to it, how... convenient. He pushed two buttons; F4 and F6, Shiro and Marisa's floors. Kerin glanced at the names, reading exactly how they were spelt. Fang, Shiro, Kerin and Marisa. His name looked a little bland by itself without the Knight on the end. Speaking of which, he had no idea of anyone's full names. He couldn't really remember if they were shown on that TV Kerin saw when they first arrived at the government building, back in the vampire district. Ah well, what better way than to ask?

"What's your last names?" Kerin asked everyone in general asthe elevator lifted and silently ascended into the tower. It moved quite fast as it was only a few seconds before they had reached Shiro's floor. Kerin quickly escorted her out, pretty much pushing her onto her floor and opened the door for her to go in. She might be drugged, but she could figure out how to walk inside. He jumped back into the elevator and the doors closed, taking them up to Marisa's floor. The doors opened to a door, which Kerin opened first and led Marisa and Fang in. It was... quite beautiful. Better than Kerin had stayed in before. Ever. Though, the only things he had stayed in was a small church in the Human District and a dingy house in the Vampire District.

Chapter 3 - Marisa Ryunatta - Vampire District

"....?" I felt Kerin slip from my grip, and I immediately turned around in confusion. Where was he...? Oh. I watched, a slight frown upon my face as he took Shiro from the guard and brought her over. She was soaking wet, miserable, and looked extremely intoxicated. She was silent, but you could definitely make out the mistrust, uncertainty and fear in her eyes. Fear? What did they give her, to make that happen? Oh well. I smiled nervously, and hopped into the elevator alongside Fang. He didn't pay Shiro much notice. Kerin, though, was quick to push her into a corner and take my hand. Shiro, being her odd drunken self, stared at the corner as if she was in time-out. I tilted my head at her, and then, at Kerin's out-of-the-blue question.

"Hau! Ryu-na-tta~! Marisa Ryunatta, Kerin-sama!!" I cry out almost immediately, swinging our hands along. Fang raises his eyebrows. "Uh, Yumigami...Please tell me you're not gonna address me by that name!" He grins jokingly. "Otherwise i'll address you as 'Sir Knight'." He laughs out. Shiro blinks and glances over her shoulder; mumbling something about eating before going back to staring at the corner. I blink even more. When we get to Shiro's room, Kerin doesn't hesitate to walk her in a bit, before pushing her in and coming back to the elevator. The psycho stumbles a bit, before falling to her knees dumbly. The elevator door closes.

When they open again, I am looking at my new room. A bed too big for someone my size, takes up the top left corner of the room. Not much occupies the rest, except for a closed door which must lead to a bathroom, as well as a small coffee table. "!!!" I smile widely, completely forgetting about the pity I once felt for Shiro. I love my bed! It's so...So... I fling myself face-first it. FLUFFY. I squirm around and manage to sit up. A big,gleaming smile appeared on my face. "This is SO COOL."

Because of my short attention span, it wasn't long before I was gaping out at the glass doors showing me the balcony. It was storming like no tomorrow! I huffed cutely, before glomping Kerin. "We still have a long, long time before Bern comes over, so lets get something to eat and watch the seventh Population Games!" Fang chuckled a bit, and ruffled my hair. "Alrighty, but we don't need you getting nightmares..."

Skymin July 21st, 2011 9:52 PM

"Ryanatta? Oh, no, Ryunatta? Okay, I got it. And I can't believe you remember me in the human district," Kerin laughed at Fang. He had next to no memory of Fang, only his face was vaguely familiar. Vaguely. Maybe if he stared at it hard enough, he could remember something. But that would be considered a little creepy. "You went to my school, right? Fang is just a nickname, isn't it? Because Fang doesn't sound as Japanese as Yumigami."

Kerin gave Marisa a bright grin as she happily frolicked her room, inspecting as much of her room as she possibly could, darting from one thing to the next. Kerin made his way out to the balcony, watching the storm. Oh look, some stairs. He poked his head out in the rain briefly to check where they led. The roof it seemed. That was pretty cool. Kerin was almost thrown to the ground as Marisa jumped on him.

"We still have a long, long time before Bern comes over, so lets get something to eat and watch the seventh Population Games!" She said, a bright, adorable smile on her face which Kerin could not help but smile back too.

"Alrighty, but we don't need you getting nightmares..." Fang gave Marisa's hair a ruffle.

"Where do we get food? The fridge?" Kerin towards his stomach. The last thing he ate was that blood capsule. Vampires needed to eat too, y'know. None of that "food turns to dust in the throat" rubbish.

Chapter 3 - Marisa Ryunatta - Vampire District

I plant my face against the glass door, as Kerin questions Fang about his name. I already knew the answer, so I decided to watch outside. My nose squished, my golden eyes watch the rain attack the balcony mercilessly. Yes, there were stairs... Maybe if it cleared up soon, we could have the party on the rooftop! I was giving nature about four hours.

"Huh? Oh. Yea. I went by a different name in the Human District. I skipped school often, so I wouldn't put it against ya if ya don't remember me. Heck, we weren't in the same classes! But, Fang is the name I go by now." He shrugs, and moves himself back over to the open elevator. "Kitchen is gonna be in the dining room. Food is probably out for supper. Ya coming?" I perk up immediately, and attach myself to Kerin.

"Uuu! And then we find a T.V!" I cry out. For the twenty-third time today, I take Kerin's hand and drag him into the elevator. Once we're all inside, I stab my finger onto the correct floor. Underneath my feet, I feel us shoot downwards to our destination. We're there within seconds. And, what we are now staring at, is probably the most fancy dining room all of us have ever seen.

A glossy wooden flooring, accompanied by a beautiful hue of purple staining the four walls, takes my attention almost instantly. I step in, and admire the expensive artwork hung against the wall. Though I do not know the artists, I am simply floored by the creativity in their design. In the center of this room, is a large, golden table drapped by a black veil. Atop it, are the nesessities for dining. Expensive china plates with fancy cuttlery, as well as about a million spoons and forks. The table is lined at the center with stunningly fresh white roses, as well as three-point candle holders. The candles have not been lit, but by seeing the servant standing off by a door, they will be if we are seated.

Out of pure curiousity, I approach the female servant. Standing at about five feet, five inches, she wears this odd black and white uniform I have never seen before. It's black, mostly, but the apron is a stainless white. Her eyes are a blank aquamarine, as the stare at the floor. She seemed... Sad. I cocked my head to the side, and she looks up to see me. She's immediately startled not by my presense, but by how young I look. She stumbles back slightly with her eyes jumping to each point of my body. Slowly, she relaxes, and mumbles an apology.

I smile sweetly. "It's okeii!! I'm just wondering if we could have some food and eat! We wanna watch the previous games! Mew!" She blinks a bit at my request, and slowly slides herself into the next room. I patiently wait. She, and two others come back with our dishes.

What I see before me, is the most rich, sensational meal in history.A fluffy cloud of mashed potatoes center my plate. Surrounding it, are cut-up pieces of salmon, steak, and chicken. Between the trigram of these meats, is another to fill up the side gaps. Steamed veggies. Yum. Broccolli, califlower, and carrots... Delicious.

I take a long sniff of the foods, and thank the servant. She only nods, and points to a staircase. I give her a confused look. "Oh. Is that where we'll find a T.V? Thankies!" I give her a happy grin, before turning to Kerin and Fang. They too, have gotten their meals.

"Au au! Let's go!"

Chapter 3 - Amelia Kunjui - Angel District

Because of my cleansing, I do not notice the full extent of my actions right away. But as I settle myself into the elevator compartment, I really begin to think. 'Oh. You did it this time. He'll probably think I'm trying to infatuate him. When... Oh I don't even know why I did that! I guess because I wasn't thinking?' I sigh softly, and watch as he brushes past Bernkastel. I can only hope that he doesn't bring it up. Wonderful. Now I made an awkward air. I look around desperately for Pewita and Kaito. They're speaking off in a corner, and Pewita looked like she was getting angered over something... Hm.

When Shizuka is inside, I immediately jab my finger against the floor marked with his name, and then mine which just so happens to be the floor above his. I'm soaking wet. He's pretty wet himself. New clothing would be best. I cross my arms over the chest of my dress. I was thankful that most of the fabric was pink, but I was still conscious of the triangle space centering my chest where it was a creamy white color. Alright. Standing in the rain wasn't the best idea either. I was making wonderful choices today! My thoughts were dripping in sarcasm. 'Slapping my mother... Saying thatI hated her... Punching the game designer in the gut... Standing in the rain... Kissing Shizuka's cheek...' They were all bad decisions on my part, and I was surely gonna take karma full-throttle in the games. Just my luck...

The minute we stop at Shizuka's floor, I lightly nudge him into the hallway seperating the elevator, from his room. I give him a weak, painful smile at the touch I just given myself. Crap. I didn't think that through, either. I'm silent as the doors close between us. "...." When the elevator is on my floor, I dash out and throw myself at the door of my room. Opening it after a bit of fumbling, I fling myself onto my bed without a glance at the rest of my surroundings.

I don't pay mind to my soaked clothes. It's the least of my worries how dry my bed is. I worry about how I'll even bevable to survive a day in the arena. I cry. For no reason, but of how frightened I am of death. I had seen what happens in these games. What kind of things Natruo throws at the people inside... He's ruthless. He doesn't give mercy, and, above all else, he gives false hope. I cling to hope. And if I do in the arena, he'll kill me without the bat of an eyelash. And if his creations don't kill me, everything else, will. I'm built to be admired indoors. I've hardly spent any time outside. How can I know anything? The time... What's edible... What is going to kill me... None of that is within my knowledge. Killing? I wouldn't have the guts to do it if I had an easy kill before me. Fighting is out of the question... I'm useless. Completely useless.

When I finish crying into my blankets, I sit on the floor. My vision is blurred, but I can make out glimmering crystals and diamonds and gold... Even at my home, I was never in the presense of something this beautiful. A white carpet beneath me, with shimmering gold walls encasing me. A small table in the corner is where a potted lily lays. I calm to this scene, and I slid out of my clothing. Even my undergarments and corset are drenched. I take it all off, and head to the bathroom naked. The bathroom is just as glamorous. I don't explore much to find the fluffy white towels awaiting me. After drying off my body and what I can of my wings and hair, I go back into my room. Clothing... I spot a closet over by the table, and I approach it. When it is open, I can't help but stand there in amazement. Beautiful gowns hang by several poles, which slide back into the wall at the press of a button. But, there are also normal articles of clothing I have never worn in my life. It was all fancy dresses.

I was dressed in the most normal clothing I had ever worn. Wash out jeans snug to my skin... A long-sleeved purple shirt... A turtleneck was what it was called, I think. Just a plain purple, but I loved it. Looking myself over in the mirror, I brushed through my long, dirty blonde hair. I had washed off all my makeup, and for once... I could see my beautiful, original face. I loved this face. I didn't know why I needed to be under so many layers of makeup... I had ditched my corset into the garbage. I was never going to wear something like that again. I liked being able to breathe.

Once I was all cleaned and happy with my normal appearance, I left my room. My old clothing had been hung to dry inside, since it had still be storming horribly outside. I made my way to the elevator in only my flat white shoes. No heels... It felt amazing on my feet. I was relaxed. I was fresh. I was me. I stepped into the elevator, and went down to the dining room. I was starving. Shizuka was probably down there already. Maybe Kaito and Pewita as well. I put on a light smile, as the elevator doors opened.

This room was like a palace, no doubt. A chandilier hanging overhead of a stunning table of food. The walls were of soft shades. Blue...Green...White. It had a calming effect. As I stepped in, I noticed the male angel sitting down at this feast. I gave a slight wave,and squeaked out a hello, to Shizuka.

Skymin July 22nd, 2011 5:43 AM

Kerin felt himself being dragged again by Marisa, this time again to the elevator. It took the three down to the Dining Room after a few seconds of travel, and it was as big and wonderful as Marisa's floor. It didn't take long for Marisa to toddle up to one of the people standing aimlessly around the floor and happily order something to eat. The person disappeared then reappeared with two others, the lady Marisa talking to giving her her own plate and the others passing a plate to Kerin and Fang. Indeed, as fancy as the room, all garnished, served with style and grace. It looked... fantastic.

"Oh," Kerin stopped the male waitor as he began to walk away. "Can I please have another plate of this and uh... something to munch on. Like snacks or something." The waitor nodded, disappeared into the kitchen and reappeared again with another plate and a bag of assorted party food. Kerin took a peek inside; chocolates, lollies, crisps, popcorn. Just bits and pieces. It was plenty. Kerin thanked the man as he returned into the kitchen. "For Shiro." He added to his companions as he gestured to his second plate.

"Au au! Let's go!" Marisa called Fang and Kerin, and followed behind as she trotted up the stairs. Upstairs was just as magnificent as downstairs. Though this one, was not full of food or fancy dining tables. It was video games, pool tables, giant TVs, stereos, arcade systems; pretty much anything fun. Kerin blinked at it all. Who possibly had the money for this all? Oh wait, the gods. Kerin walked over to one and simply picked it up. It wasn't heavy at all, though Kerin wasn't sure if that was a mix between they were light TVs or he was just so strong. It was a little awkward, two dinner plates in one hand, a bag on the arm, a TV in the other hand, though he would manage. He had relatively good balance and the elevators were quite steady. He gave Fang and Marisa a funny smile.

"So, do we go back?"

Chapter 3 - Marisa Ryunatta - Vampire District

"For... Shiro?" I asked, looking at the two plates he held. It was beyond me how he could carry so much stuff, but I was more concerned with him having a plate for Shiro. What if the drugs were out of her system, and she attacked him? I was just beginning to protest, when Fang stepped in. His face make have looked happy and innocent now, but it was slightly grim earlier.

"Here, I'll take it off your hands," He took Shiro's plate from him, and grinned. "You guys start watching. I'll take it up. I need to change clothes, anyways!" Right. He was soaking wet. I giggled lightly, and looked at the trail of water he had made.

"Uu, okaii Fang. Be quick!" I ushered him to the elevator, and he was off. I looked back around the room. "Hmmm..." I wandered fora moment, before switching the gigantic television on. 'What would you like to watch?' It said on the screen. I plopped down in a beany chair. "Population Games, Seventh Season." I said clearly. Instantly the screen switched, and we were watching an interview. An interview of the contestants before the games. Sure enough, Bernkastel Vermillia was among them. Being fifteen, all of the competition was older than herself. Men that towered at 6'5, 220 pounds... Wisp-like women who were stealthy... She was clearly at a disadvantage phyically. But, if it came down to beauty, she would win hands down.

All the contestants were dressed up for the occassion. Sexy, beauty, handsome, strong, weak, smart, and blood-thirsty... They were all there. First vampires, then demons, humans, and angels... That was the order for the interview. Bern happened to be sixth for the interview. And if you thought Bern was dark and mysterious now, you should have seen her last year.

Her outfit was the most beautiful thing my eyes had ever laid upon. A dazzling, plain black dress that was fitted tight to her upper body, before fanning out greatly. It fell down in wisps at her knees. This was a strapless dress, so it showed all the curves on the demon. Her wings were as black as the night... Hair as dark as a raven... Glowing emerald eyes... She was the Queen of Darkness. The two burnt symbols on her shoulders especially stood out. Untouched, they were bloody and that only made her look more deadly, yet so... So beautiful. As she sat down to have the interview with a man named Venius Cloud, I couldn't help but whisper to myself. "She's beautiful... Underneath that witch hat and all that clothing... This is her?"

The interview had an edge to it I hadn't seen in the other ones. Bern obviously wasn't one for talking. She would answer questions with little detail, and she put no effort into these answers. However, she changed tramatically half-way through.

"... Bernkastel, what we want to know, is why you decided to say in the Demon District. Why?" Asked Venius, a slightly plump man wearing a striking black outfit. His blonde curls had some obviously dyed black streaks to them. His forest eyes were questioning.

Bern paused for a moment, and pretended to be busy fixing her dress. Finally, she answered. "Because I have someone to take care of," Venius made a face.

"Family?"

"No,"

"A friend?"

"Somewhat,"

Now Venius was leaning back in his chair in thought. "A boy?" There is another brief pause.

"Yes," She answers quietly. "He doesn't know I exist. But, I'm alright with that. As long as he's safe from harm." The crowd goes silent, and the buzzer goes off. Bern excuses herself silently.

"Bern has a crush?" I ask curiously, as the next interviews begin. "But she's so...Emotionless... Au..."

Skymin July 22nd, 2011 7:21 AM

Kerin thanked Fang, put the TV down where Marisa instructed (though he was under the impression he would be putting it somewhere in her room) and joined her in a chair next to her. Even the chairs themselves were of the best quality; the most comfortable Kerin's ass had ever felt. He shuffled around a little and tucked his legs up next to him to try and retain his heat. As Marisa started up last year's population games, Kerin put the bag he had gotten earlier aside and dug into the food on his plate. It was extremely delicious. The meat was perfectly cooked and the vegetables perfectly steamed. Though Kerin wouldn't admit it aloud, the blood sauce on the steak was the cream of the cake. Ah... so good. He pulled himself away from his food for a minute to watch Bern's interview. How odd. She looked so... naked without her hat.

"Bern has a crush? But she's so...Emotionless... Au..." Marisa's voice rang as the next interview started. Kerin looked at her, chewing slowly.

"Well, she was hanging out with that other demon," Kerin tapped his lip thoughtfully. "You know, the one the tattoo snake tried to get on? But I'm not sure if that's an alliance or something... different." He let out a small cough. "Besides, everyone has someone, right?" He added with a smile. Kerin himself always had someone to think about; his family. Though he could never reach them, he always thought about what would happen if they were to meet again. And now, he had Marisa and Fang. His first vampire friends.

Chapter 3 - Marisa Ryunatta - Vampire District

"Oh..." I mumble softly, looking back at the screen. "I didn't really have anyone.... My dad was...Um... A bully. And mama was scared... Dad kidnapped her and they died." I whisper softly, picking at my food. I have no interest for the meat, so I only eat what I can of the potatoes and veggies. When I'm watching the television, everything suddenly stops. I'm staring at this older woman from the Human District. A huge woman with broad shoulders, muscled limps, and a six pack. With black hair, and the same olive eyes as Fang, I have no doubt in my mind, when I see her name flash on the screen when it's the end of her interview.

Presia Yumigami.

I stumble not to drop my plate, and I watch this woman wide-eyed. She was... Fang's older sister? Was that why he was so willing to leave? I set down my plate, and slowly nuzzle myself into Kerin's side. Nobody survived these games, except Bernkastel. My face goes pale, as I come to the realization that Fang watched his sister die last year, and is participating this year. The angel interviews go unnoticed by me, and the screen flickers to the opening of the games. The participants are in a small field of tall grass, while just outside, is a rain forest. Immediately I pick out Presia and Bernkastel. The two are directly beside eachother on their metal plates.

3....2....1. The cannon sounds, and before I can even blink, Bernkastel is over by what every refers to, as the Karma Heap. Basically, it's a pile of supplies and weapons set before the participants at the start of the game. Bern easily picks out the best supplies, which includes a District bag, tent supply, the Lemon Bag, and finally, the Gadget Pack. Those are the most expensive things set out in the games, and she got them all before anyone came within ten feet of the heap. She didn't even touch the weapons. Immediately, she was out of the and carrying all this stuff by flight.

Presia is the fourth person at the pile. She fights over the rights to a sword, before making do with a mace and clubbing the male over the head. She takes back the sword with ease, grabs a jacket, and runs out in the opposite direction of Bern. The fight goes on in the field for quite some time. In total, five people are already dead. Eleven people left.

Now we watch, as all of them slowly die out in the rain forest. It rains alot, but this is literal, acid rain. It burns the flesh and leaves you screaming. Humming birds with long beaks skewer participants through their arms, legs, neck... Another four are dead by sunrise. The next few days, are silent. Bernkastel seems to be holding the camera's attention. She has made a camp. Everything she'll ever need, is in this area just by the electric barrier circling the arena. Tent, fishing supplies, rope, food, water, night vision goggles, and a knife... She's all set. It only becomes clear what happened to her gadgets, when a huge man goes to attack her, and he's suddenly upside down in a tree. A vampire. This vampire is screaming bloody murder, as Bern sits there. Sipping her water and watching him thrash about like he's a bird. After an hour of him throwing fireballs, only for them to be caught and thrown into the nearby acid stream, does Bern do something about him. In the most casual way, she walks over to the tree and touches the wire. The vampire is screaming for her to spare him, but it's no use. With little emotion, Bern flicks the wire and goes inside her tent to sleep. It rains during the night, and there are screams of mercy. When Bern comes out in sunrise, there is nothing left of the man. The acid ate right through to even his bones.

Skymin July 22nd, 2011 9:01 AM

"I didn't really have anyone.... My dad was...Um... A bully. And mama was scared... Dad kidnapped her and they died," Marisa said softly. Kerin tucked his arm around her. How awful, for one so young to have their whole family stolen away from you. Though surely Marisa wasn't that blind.

"I'm sorry," Kerin gave her a small hug. "I didn't used have anyone either, but I always... I always thought about them. But now, it's only been a little while, but I have someone now." Kerin smiled at her. "And so do you! Me and Fang, right? We're your friends?" Kerin let out a small laugh. How embarrassing would it be if she said no? Oh boy. Kerin moved his eyes back to the television to watch the rest of the interviews, watching as one by one, a teenager came up, answered some questions, then left. This went on for a little, each teen telling their story (they all seemed quite similar to Kerin) until Marisa pulled her face into Kerin's chest. Confused, his eyes switched between the TV and her. There was an older girl being interviewed at the moment. Did Marisa know her? She was from the human district and her name was... wow, Kerin had no idea how to pronouce that. The last name seemed easy enough, Yu-mi-ga... oh. Oh. That was... Fang's last name. Oh.

As he watched the games commence, his stomach took a turn. This was... this was disgusting. Probably the most disgusting thing Kerin had ever seen in his life. Acid rain? And the blood, there was lots of it. How could he have ever watched this before without being completely... without completely hating it. This was such a stupid and crazy idea. Bernkastel though, seemed to just cruise through the whole thing. Was this exactly the same as what would happen this year? Would five of them die within the first day or so? He gritted his teeth and put his plate down as he lost his appetite. He hoped that Bernkastel had something good planned. What was the deal with Bernkastel anyway?

"So when are we having this party?" He cleared his throat out. It was a pretty poor attempt to lighten the mood, but it would have to do. He couldn't pull his eyes away from the slaughter on the television. It was like watching contortionists. They were disgusting, but it was just hard to pull your eyes away; you just had to see what they did next and how they ended their routine. Their big finale.

Chapter 3 - Marisa Ryunatta - Vampire District

"Kerin-sama isn't my friend," I mumble softly, listening to the subtle sounds of Bern switching the trap back on. I nuzzle deeper into Kerin. "I think Kerin-sama can be my brother. He'd be a good brother, mew..." I look up at him, and smile. Yup. My brother. He could be the sibling I never had.

"Uhm. Ten. It's....8:45 right now. Uu."

I look back at the screen, as a voice catches my attention. Presia's voice. Jacket over her shoulders and the sword in hand, she's running heavily through the forest; hot on the heels of a vampire. She opens out her jacket, takes out a knife, and it digs right into the spine of the vampire. Now Presia is on top of the vampire. This female blood-sucker is swearing that she'll kill Presia. Presia only sighs, rolling the knife along her fingers.

"Well, a compromise would be to change me into a vampire. Then we'll hunt down Bernkastel together." The vampire grumbles, since she has no choice but to obey. The screen flickers back to Bern, just as the vampire bites Presia, and Presia digs the knife into her throat. Bern is doing her usual weird stuff. Drawing pentagrams in the dirt. Mumbling spells. At one point, she summons a huge snake. But it all disappears within seconds. Then, she looks up to find Presia holding a gun to her head.

I give out a tiny squeak. "T-there's one empty gun in the game. You have to find the bullets hidden around..."

Bern only smiles lightly, and offers her a piece of fruit. Presia, not expecting this, slowly lowers her gun. Within the hour, the two become allys and friends. Bern allows her to drink her blood, in exchange for Presia's station as guard. Down to the last four, the two final people; an angel and a demon, find their way to the camp and attack Presia. Presia manages to shoot the demon, but he easily stabs her gut with her own sword. Bern comes out just to see Presia collapse.

The angel and demon back off slightly as Bern grabs Presia in her arms. Bernkastel doesn't say any kind words. She's silent as she stares into Presia's dying eyes. When the woman speaks for the final time, Bern looks... Saddened.

"I...Just wanted to see my little brother again... Am I dying?" Bern nods, and watches, as the woman goes limp; eyes still open.

When Bern moves, the angel backs slightly with obvious fear in her eyes. The demon is confused. Until Bern looks up at them. Blood-stained red eyes.

"You didn't need to kill her. She was a vampire. It wouldn't affect your winnings... But... That was a fatal mistake on your part." She takes her bloodie hand to her face, and looks at it calmly. "I suggest begging for your lives. You will regret killing her, and not me." She licks the blood off her fingers, and bares her teeth. Two of them which are more defined than the others.

"Nothing. Nobody, can kill me now."

With a quick, sliding movement, it's all over. I watch as a gigantic snake comes out from Bern's palm, and eats the demon whole. The angel, terrified, flees. No use. Bern is quick to catch her. She whispers into her ear.

"You... I'll kill anyone who hurts the people I care for. Now with nobody left, but him, I won't hold back, until he's safe for an eternity. Long live, Lord Ashura." And with a quick motion, Bern snaps the angel's neck.

Chapter 3- Bernkastel Vermillia - Demon District

I close my eyes. What I see, is everything I must do before the games begin. Did I miss anything? Are there any gaps to this plan? None that I am aware of. Just stick to the plan, and everything will go smoothly. Only small conversations can be made outside the schedule. Nothing more, nothing less. Follow each move I make, and think about how it will affect the outcome of the future. No guessing. I have to be completely certain of everything. There are no second chances.

I open my eyes, just as the elevator door slides away. As expected, nothing has changed when it came to style and decor. I step into the dining room silently. Everything is the same, so I only give a few glnces here and there. It's the same pattern of dark colors as last time. Dark blues...Reds...Purples...Black. The odd white. I seat myself down on a wooden chair with red csions. Before us, is an elegant black table cloth with a few unlit candles here and there. Besides the red rose petals, its empty. However, it won't be for long. A male servant approaches me, and asks if I am ready for supper. I nod, and direct my attention accompanying me in this room. He also, just happens to be my ally.

"Please, sit and eat... I would like to know your strengths so I can be a better ally to you. The same goes for you. Since there is nobody to hear, feel free to ask anythng." I watch as the servant comes back with my meal. He must have remembered me from last year, because my portion is much, much smaller compared to a regular meal. A bit of chicken, veggies, bread, cheese, and some fruit. I don't eat much, so food is never a problem in the arena. Water, is the main difficulty. Nothing can live long without water. Even then, water sources are usually tainted.

"I suppose you have come to the conclusion that Ryuu is stupid as well...?" I ask. I take the knife given to me for my chicken, and instead cut a tiny slit in my thumb. Silently, I draw a symbol on my wrist. After a few seconds, my blood turns into a rest smoke and manifests beside me. What forms, in none other than Mammon. Wearing her blood-colored dress with bones lining across it, she snickers. "It's hilarious, really~ I didn't even feel a thing!" I look at Mammon, and pass her my fruit. "You're just too good at playing dead, Mammon."

"Kerin-sama isn't my friend," Marisa said, nuzzling closer to Kerin. He felt his heart drop into his feet and a lump rise into his throat. Did she really mean that? What were friends then, if they weren't this? "I think Kerin-sama can be my brother. He'd be a good brother, mew..." Kerin exhaled and almost slapped himself in the head. Right, his sister. She would be his Dana. No, wait. No, she would be his Marisa. She was not like Dana, or Nora or ... Quinn. He couldn't just replace his family. No, she was Marisa.

"Thank you," Kerin said and pulled his eyes back to the television. Fang's sister was a good fighter, he could see. She kept her calm, even turning into a vampire for the sake of the competition. Kerin screwed up his face as he watched the vampire bite the girl, then the vampire's neck immediately being severed by the girl. Who would... want that? He looked away for a little, inspecting the buckle on the cuff on his wrist until he heard Bernkastel's voice again. Oh good, at least Bernkastel was capable of alliances. And when the angel and demon attacked, she fought quite valiantly. And when the girl died, she avenged her with a giant snake. A... snake? Was that the one on her arm? Though that wasn't the only question he had for Marisa.

"What happens if a vampire was to bite a demon or an angel? And do the rules change for Humans who change? Like, are they still considered a human if a them and a vampire from the vampire district remain?" Kerin fiddled with the buckle again. "Oh, and do you think... that snake is the one from Bernkastel's arm?"

He smiled again. He sure felt stupid, asking someone who was at least 5 years younger than he was so many questions.

-As I stepped out of the helicopter, I was immediately blown back in, or at least I would have been had I not grabbed the door frame. I pulled myself outside, accepting the umbrella offered to me, and an idea hatched in my brain, but I didn't allow my smirk to be seen. I made good show of trying to control the umbrella, before it was ripped out of my hand and sent flying towards that heli, and the corrupt game master. Silently hurrying on, I tried to ignore the daggar rain that seemed to have inconveniently shown up to pester us. Our building was kind of a let-down, as I had been suspecting a more grand apperence, but it looked like no one had touched the place in years.

I turned my head slightly so that I could see the others of my race, and how far back they were, and to my slight suprise, saw that they were already at the elevator. As I walked over, I heard Fausto trying to sweetalk Nokoto, and it seemed to be working, but I could also sense a false tone in which he was speaking. As Fausto let go of her hand, he seemed to turn away and continue scowling at something. I walked past him into the open elevator, and when I was close enough, I whispered something in his ear quickly, yet his voice was stone cold "Don't say something you don't mean with your heart. I don't want anything more sorrowful than this,"I said gesturing to the situation we were in"happening while we are here, got it?"

-Stepping past him I walking into the elevator, I waited for the rest of us to file into the elevator, then I pushed Fausto's button first with an emotionless face. He was on the second floor, I was on the 3rd, and Nokoto was 4th. As the door opened for Fausto, I shoved him a bit, and I guessed he would probably flip me off so I just leaned back and closed my eyes until the doors shut. I then pushed Nokoto's button, and just in case she asked, I said that I had something to take care of. As the door opened, he did a wide fancy gesture with both of his hands, pointing towards her door, a slight smile on my face, just for looks. When she had left, I pressed the button to go back to the ground level, slightly hoping that that helicopter and Natruo were both gone, and thankfully they were. Raike surveyed the area the best that he could in that disaster weather before spotting the Demon district building, and scowling.

"I have to climb that thing?.... or use the elevator..." I thought as I began walking over there. I was time to pay a visit to Bernkastel...and see what those other alliances were planning, maybe even join one if he had to.-

Chapter 3 - Nokoto - Human District

"....?"

Alright. There isn't much I get, but everyone here must be bipolar or simply crazy. To my left, I have Ryuu being extremely silent as he watches the game designer and Bernkastel. What was going through his mind? Murder, probably. He was the more stereotypical demon of the four. Honestly, he was too stupid and rash to be a threat. Bernkastel, is being friendly, but also rather mean. Does that even make sense? Well, from the way she's with the two vampires and dowsing the other named Shiro... Well, I don't know what to think. On the helicopter, she was trying to stay silent, but situations kept arising where she needed to speak. I've seen her play in the previous games, so I know most of what she is capable of. She was a definite threat, but she would probably leave the humans alone since it wouldn't effect her winning the games. But then there's Fausto. The sweet, optimistic boy from the train. He keeps contorting his face slightly as if he's in pain.

Raike, being Raike, whispers something to him which immediately makes Fausto angered. But only for a second. He composes himself and gets into the elevator with us. The second we're at Fausto's floor, Raike shoves him out of the elevator. I sweatdrop. What the heck was going on? Like I knew. I just went with the flow. I didn't really pay much attention to Fausto's reaction, but I smiled when Raike said he had something to do.

"Mysterious~ Don't get yourself into a mess." I warn, but it isn't much of a warning because i'm smiling. Atleast he wasn't as hostile as Ryuu.

When I came to my floor, I gave an awkward wave, and left him be in the elevator. Great. Now what was I supposed to do? Fausto wasn't in the best mood... Jin was psychotic... And Raike was doing something shady. He'll probably come back with an injury of some sort. He was up to something sneaky, most likely... I was NOT curious enough to follow him. Sighing, I enter my new room.

The place reminds me of a fancy hotel my former home lived beside. An expensive place with servants and all imaginable. This, was what I pictured to be inside such a place. Soft, welcoming white carpets... Creamy yellow walls... A white-framed bed with light blue blankets. Yup. Exactly so. I take my time exploring the place, because I have nothing better to do. I'm relieved not to find anything suspicious poking around. The bathroom is a blinding room of white. Within ten minutes, I'm done exploring and now tucked deep into my bed. With the lights off, I can watch the flashes of lightning bounce off my walls. I'm not hungry. Not after everything I've been through. Sleep is what I need, and sleep, I do.

Chapter 3 - Raike Destan - Human District

-Raike pressed the button that spelled out the name of the person he aimed to see, "Bernkastel" and silently waited until he arrived at her floor. As the doors opened, he found that she was not there. Cursing, he went over the places that she might be, and found that he couldn't think of one, since he knew nothing about her. He could just wait till she came but that would probably give her the wrong idea. What about the angels?

He hadn't really talked to any of them on the heli ride, and for some odd reason, he was slightly concerned about Amelia, then again, he didn't feel like walking all the way there, specially in this rain. Sighing he decided to check out the training room, since he needed some practice anyway. As the elevator doors closed, his jacket was caught between the doors, he pulled on it until it came free, breaking of the zipper, which irritated him slightly. All of this, he would at least be able to take out on the training dummies or whatever they had. A tiny flame flickered on his finger, before going out just as quickly.

Just as he was at the ground floor, he remembered something that he probably should have thought of at the beginning. The entertainment room was right above the dining hall, at least in his own district's dorm, and perhaps it would be the same with the demons. He pushed the button for the desired room, and waited with slight impatience as the elevator quickly acended the floors until it finally stopped at the entertainment room. He didn't really even want to know what "entertained" demons, so he paid little attention to those things, and headed for the steps. He cursed himself slightly for bringing metal grip bottom boots, as they slowed his progress drastically, as he wanted to make no sound.

When he was close enough to make out the voices talking, he stopped, and sat on the steps, listening.-

"Please, sit and eat... I would like to know your strengths so I can be a better ally to you. Since there is no one to hear, feel free to ask anything." Raike recognised that voice as one that belonged to Bernkastel. Raike guessed that she was talking to someone else, but who? Normally he would be against eavesdropping, but his life actually might depend on doing it, so in this case, he had no problem with it.

The_Original_Raitan July 23rd, 2011 10:52 AM

Xavier moves his eyes over to Bernkastel's form, and from what he could see from the awkward position, was that her eyes were shut...Why would she do that? Was she in deep thought? If so, what was she thinking about? Him? The Games? Why? And why am I asking all these questions? "........" He hears a soft 'ding' enter his ears. Xavier sighs lightly, moving himself through the elevator at a slow pace. Oh how he didn't want to be here....

Slowly, quietly, and peacefully, Xavier walked through the elevator. "...." They were in a dining room of some sort, and dark colors flowed throughout the room. His favorite of the colors were those on the rose petals scattered across the table. Red. Although, the room was so...so...big. It made Xavier oddly uncomfortable, being in such a monstrous sized room. He had lived his whole life in the same, miniature, riggity on the outside excuse for a house his entire life. Most would call his 'house' a shack if they didn't see the inside. Gosh...Just this room made him feel uncomfortable...How was he going to sleep?! "........" Xavier watches as the servant blatanly ignores him, and immediately goes into the kitchen after talking with Bernkastel. Hmph.

"Please, sit and eat... I would like to know your strengths so I can be a better ally to you. The same goes for you. Since there is nobody to hear, feel free to ask anything."

Xavier moves from his awkward standing, and moves to the seat opposite of Bernkastel. He sits down, leaning back into the chair, his eyes resting on the table. Almost immediately, the servant comes back out, two platters in each of his hands, and placing them out before Bern & Xavier. "....?" Xavier blinks when he sees his meal. They just...gave him a whole chicken. It even has sides with it too. "....." He doesn't say a word about it, but takes small bite out of his platter. Xavier never was able to eat such large meals all the time. He'd prefer to eat a necessary amount, then save the rest to eat for a later date. You have to be smart with your food when you don't buy it.

"I suppose you have come to the conclusion that Ryuu is stupid as well...?" He nods silently, keeping his half unconcealed eyes locked on his food, taking a small sip of the water presented to him. Well, it wasn't very hard to think that everyone has come to the conclusion that Ryuu is stupid. Everyone. "...." Out of the top of his eye, he can see Bern prick her thumb, make a symbol, then smoke. "..............?" His eyes trail up from his food, to the red haired woman from before. Mammon. "It's hilarious, really~ I didn't even feel a thing!" Xavier looks all the way up, not hearing Bernkastel's words to the woman. Xavier speaks softly. ".....I knew you weren't dead...." There's not even a hint of surprise on his face from seeing Mammon. He wasn't lying.

Chapter 3- Bernkastel Vermillia - Demon District

Mammon smiles at Xavier with sharp, pointed teeth, before a piece of fresh pineapple becomes their victim. "You're a smart boy. Believe or not, most in that flying death trap think I'm dead... Foolish." She plucks a grape into her mouth, as her razor, strawberry colored eyes fall onto me. I take the glass of cold water into my hand, and give it a gentle sip. "... What Mammon is saying, is that anyone who knows Mammon is alive, will become either allies, or strong enemies. I already know the little vampire knows, but she won't be a problem. Her and those two male vampires. I'm not sure about anyone else, however. Hadn't had the means to make contact with them." I set my glass back down, and look directly at Xavier. "I don't like being the only one to be talking... If you think that if your silence proves capability, you're wrong. I learned that my first year here. If people know you have knowledge, they keep you around in order to obtain information." My right hand is busy spinning my fork, when I say; "And to be honest, I want to keep you around for a time extended past the games... It's hard to find decent intelligence these days."

From the corner of my eye, I see Mammon scrunch up her eyebrows and perk up. Though, I don't worry much about this, since Mammon is... Weird. I finish up my meal quickly, to continue conversation. "Well, I will be busy most of tonight. The vampires want me to go to some... Party. Ten o'clock. And after..." I look back at my drink. Mammon finishes for me. "Fausto will die tonight!"

The_Original_Raitan July 23rd, 2011 10:53 PM

Xavier blinks when Mammon smiles at him. She was....interesting, to say the least. Well, who wouldn't be interested when she just came out of Bernkastel's blood? Honestly? "You're a smart boy. Believe or not, most in that flying death trap think I'm dead... Foolish." His eyes trail along to Bernkastel as Mammon's does. Xavier lightly takes an apple into his hand, examining it for any imperfections, then taking a bite out of it. His eyes go back to Bern a split second after. "... What Mammon is saying, is that anyone who knows Mammon is alive, will become either allies, or strong enemies. I already know the little vampire knows, but she won't be a problem. Her and those two male vampires. I'm not sure about anyone else, however. Hadn't had the means to make contact with them." Her eyes move over to him, the chocolate brown and emerald green eyes meeting. Xavier wished he could cover his pair badly. "...." Xavier continues to keep himself silent, which was an easy challenge. He still didn't quite feel very comfortable with this whole 'Communicating to others' thing. Bernkastel speaks up. "I don't like being the only one to be talking... If you think that if your silence proves capability, you're wrong. I learned that my first year here. If people know you have knowledge, they keep you around in order to obtain information."

Xavier blinks profusely, his eyes wanting to narrow, while Xavier doesn't allow them. He didn't mean anything by being silent. Nothing at all. You know, is there anything wrong with being quiet? Not to Xavier anyway. Not at all. "Well, I will be busy most of tonight. The vampires want me to go to some... Party. Ten o'clock. And after..." .... "Fausto will die tonight!"

Xavier hardly cared of either of those sentences. He didn't care if Fausto died, he didn't care that she was going to a party. Although...he was concerned of why SHE of all people was going to a party....But that wasn't his concern "....Is there a problem for my peacefulness...? I'm the one not causing chaos..unlike the others...One's being a guarddog, one is completely arrogant and foolish, another, or some others, were kissing a moment ago 'I believe', and almost all of them are LOUD...." He freezes. Did he...of all people...just say all that? To another person? And did he raise his voice at the end..? Even if it was only slightly, Xavier Ray Harrah, did rise his voice. What the hell was going on?! "!!!" He lowers his head to the table, his fingers on the table fiddling around with one another. "........Sorry."

Chapter 3 - Marisa Ryunatta - Vampire District

"Nyuu~!" Once the games are over, I nuzzle my head under Kerin's arm and hug him tightly. He asks me questions. Well, I was expecting him to. He needed to know how the games worked so that his performance would be at its best. And, he would look silly if he asked a question about the games to anyone else. I was happy to help my brother.

"Uuu, nothing happens to angels or demons or gods if they're bitten. Healing abilities are like 'No poison in this body!'" I giggle. "Let's say a human turned into a vampire, as well as real vampire are left. The new vampire would win as a human if they didn't bite anyone. If they did bite someone, they are judged as a vampire, and only one can win. If there is a human and a new vampy left, both win automatically, even if the vampy hasn't bitten anyone." I explain this with little gestures of my hands. I know this because I've seen both senarios play out. I add a little more. "So really, two 'humans' could win a year. The reason they are given a bonus like this, is because they're at a disadvantage here. Sure, they know more about weapons, but everyone else here has speed, strong magic, strength and wings."

I pause at the last question, and look back at the blank screen. "I dunno, mew. Maybe they're the same... Ask Bern." I check the time. "Uu, its 9:15! Where's Fang, Kerin-sama? He's been gone the entire time..."

Skymin July 24th, 2011 2:23 AM

"Magic," Kerin laughed. Yeah, despite how much he had heard that he could probably do magic, he had never shown any sign of it, or even tried. Something else he'd probably have to learn. Though he was perfectly fine with using his fists to solve problems. And ask Bernkastel? No thank you. If there was something he wanted to do, was to stay on her good side. Unless showing initiative was a trait. Then he had no idea.

"Uu, its 9:15! Where's Fang, Kerin-sama? He's been gone the entire time..." Marisa sounded worried. Kerin looked at a nearby clock. She was right, he had been gone the entire time. At least fourty-five minutes. That was a while to go up and down the elevator.

"Well, he went up to see Shiro and... wait, you don't think Shiro woke up, do you?" Kerin exchanged looks between the elevator and Marisa. He held her up as he got to his feet and quickly stepped over to the elevator. She wouldn't have... killed him yet, would he? No, she couldn't have possibly. She had been ditzy for the past few hours and shown little sign of waking up. If she attacked, she would be slow and Fang could dodge. Hopefully.

SkyisUmbreon July 24th, 2011 9:14 AM

-Raike's eyes narrowed as he heared the demon's voice. Mammon, he was sure, as he wasn't one to forget important things. It had also seemed well, impossible for something like Mammon to be killed by being smashed repeatedly like that. Well, that little piece of info would come in handy... a demon that can't die, for it is already dead... interesting. He then heard Bernkastel say that those who had knowlage of Mammon's existence would become either allies, or strong enemies, and Raike wouldn't mind being her ally, and becoming an enemy of hers would probably be screwing himself over.

As he was about to leave, he heard another peice of news. Apparently, either Bernkastel or Mammon was going to kill Fausto tonight, and for some reason, he didn't care much, but then he did. Conflicted, he leaned a bit closer, in an attempt to hear better. There seemed to be some kind of party happening tonight, invitation only, which Raike really didn't mind, but for some reason, he had a feeling he was being watched. He tunred his head so that he could see behind him, and observed that the stairway was clear, so he shook his head and went back to what he was doing before.-

Eeveemaster9 July 24th, 2011 12:06 PM

Chapter 3- Bernkastel Vermillia - Demon District

My eyes do not waver from Xavier as he finally begins to speak. Was he really that uncomfortable talking to two people? He was going to just hate the interview, then. I listen. Pushing my hair out of the way, I'm quite surprised to hear him say that much in one sitting. "......" I stand up, and weave myself over to his side of the table. I couldn't have him thinking I meant what he thought. I inhale, and touch my finger against his shoulder. Like before, a string of the rain water is removed, and I throw this water off in a random direction.

"The train ride, Xavier. I have nothing against your peaceful stance, but I'd like it if you stayed alive in the games. You need to win. If you win, you can go back to your... Living quarters or the Victor's District... And be at peace." Slowly, I lean down and wrap my arms around his form. This gesture is commonly reffered to, as a hug. It's a light hug, but I'm doing it to soothe him. "... When I touch people, I can feel their thoughts. Don't worry about how you'll sleep tonight. I'll figure something out... Can't have you tired for training... Right, Mammon?"

I look back just to see the rest of her humanoid appearance go up into a red smoke. The cloud of smoke immediately darts for the entertainment room. Of course. She probably got bored. Well, I'm just glad I no longer smell the blood that stains her dress... It's a smell I can never get used to.

"... I shouldn't be too long. If it isn't raining, i'll fly back so I don't have to see Natruo beating Ryuu to a pulp. I'll help you sleep,"

Chapter 3 - Fang Yumigami - Vampire District

"Daxity, you have to eat..."

My voice is soft, as I push the plate back in front of her. There I was, soaking wet, coaxing the girl named Shiro to eat. She wouldn't even take a blood capsule... Her eyes are trained on the plate, but I know she still isn't convinced. I sigh lightly, and reach my hand out to stroke what little amount of hair she has upon her head. She freezes, and her eyes dart around the room. Her eyes colored in crimson light. She has been shutting out my existance the entire time. My fingers sail between the strands. Even though she has so little hair, it's soft. Like a ravens feathers. "Daxity...Please, eat..." I go to take her hand, and she snaps. She screams out in some form of pain, fear and denial, as she backpedals towards the bathroom. I follow her. "Daxity--Stop!" I rush forward just as she finds a pair of scissors. She's aiming them at her wrist, when I throw them out of her hands and grab her shoulder. She's gone completely off the bend. She's crying and screaming.

"No! No! No! Stop! They're inside me! Stop! No! They're in my!!" She's struggling wildly to claw at her wrists, and even with my strength, I find it difficult to pin her onto her back. She's thrashing and screaming and kicking...

"Daxity! You're fine! There aren't any maggots, so stop!" She stops immediately, and stares at me. Her eyes are in fear, but I can see that she is trying hard to surface again.

"Get off me you stupid--!! I'll kill you!" She screams at me. But, I don't. I keep myself sitting on her with her arms pinned beside her head.

"Daxity, you know I can't do that," I say softly, looking into eyes. She snaps back immediately. "My name isn't Daxity, you stupid gorilla! My name is Shiro!" I manage to keep my cool now, but I'll snap if I can't get to the morphine under the sink. I see it right there... Needles with the stuff...

I jump when I feel a hand placed on my shoulder. Shiro begins screaming even more and kicking. It's Marisa. She looks extremely frightened of Shiro's current state, but she helps me. Silently, she crawls over to the sink and takes a few needles from the compartment.

"Don't you DARE stick those in me, you dolled little girl! I'll-" Marisa jams a needle into her neck, and that immediately cuts her to silence. The fluid drains into her neck, and she stops kicking. Marisa puts another needle, more gently, into Shiro's arm. Her body relaxes underneath me, and I let her arms go. I take the last needle, and put it into her other arm. Her eyes become hazed, and I slowly stand up off of her. I thank Marisa quietly, and the little girl nods, before hiding behind Kerin. Shiro lays there for a moment, blinking. "....?" She sits up and rubs her eyes. I sigh in relief. It worked.

I turn to Marisa curiously, fixing my clothes which felt really gross and weird after that struggle. "How long were you two watching?" Marisa looks at the door, then the plate, then finally at Shiro. "She tried hurting herself, mew." She says quietly. I am nodding, when Shiro clings to me from behind. Her pale, scrawny arms around my chest. I mumble under my breath as I sweatdrop. "Um..."

SkyisUmbreon July 24th, 2011 12:32 PM

"The train ride Xavior. I have nothing against your peaceful stance, but I'd like it if you stayed alive in the games." These words from Bernkastel's lips. Raike felt that he wasn't going to get anything out of listening anymore, but just as he turned to go, he heard something that caused him to curse slightly under his breath.-

"Can't have you tired for training...right Mammon?" But there was no answer. As he turned his neck slightly, he saw the beginning of the Demon's vapor form, and it seemed to be heading for him. Raike cursed again, as there was nothing he could do at that point. If he tried to run, his boots would make too much noise so Bern and Xavior would hear. If he didn't move, Mammon would catch him spying.

He sighed, and decided to take up a relaxed position on the stairs, crossing his arms behind his head and closing his eyes, waiting for the demon to materialize.-

The_Original_Raitan July 24th, 2011 12:54 PM

Xavier kept his eyes on the table, his fingers continued to fiddle with one another, but they all froze when Bernkastel weaved over to his side of the table. She was so...so...No. Odd wasn't the word Xavier could use to describe her anymore. Different. Unique. Those would be words Xavier would use for Bern. Different than the other people he has met. She's better than them. Which, compared to the people he's met isn't saying much, but the whole concept of him thinking something highly of another IS saying much. "....."

Bernkastel lightly touches his shoulder, all the water sucked off of his body, and flung in a random direction. Courtesy of Bern of course. "......" Xavier begins to unfreeze, but quickly becomes startled when she wunds her arms around him. "The train ride, Xavier. I have nothing against your peaceful stance, but I'd like it if you stayed alive in the games. You need to win. If you win, you can go back to your... Living quarters or the Victor's District... And be at peace." He blinks. Why was she so..so..caring? Was that the word? Notheless, she seemed very..worried. "... When I touch people, I can feel their thoughts. Don't worry about how you'll sleep tonight. I'll figure something out... Can't have you tired for training... Right, Mammon?" .....Uh.......Mammon's disappeared into a red vapor, Bern can hear his thoughts, and he's being hugged.

"......" Slowly and hesitantly, Xavier moves his arms. He doesn't quite know what he's doing, and his normality is practically screaming at him to not do what he's thinking. Metaphorically speaking of course. And was he even thinking? Xavier felt like he was drugged, but he know he isn't. What was this? Once Xavier has his arms fully around Bern, he does something he'd never do. He leaned in, and kissed her. "...."

".....!!!" A few seconds later, Xavier realizes what he's doing. He was KISSING, Bernkastel Vermilia. K-I-S-S-I-N-G! He pulls back, his eyes fully widened due to the kiss, his face now turned away, and his cheeks tinted with a bright red.

Kerin tried to help Fang with Shiro as Marisa crawled over to the sink, but she was too squirmy for him. If he tried to force her into place, he'd probably break her arm or something. Marisa returned with a few syringes, holding them up and ready to pierce her arm.

"You know how to use those?" Kerin blinked at her. As she went for Shiro's arm, Kerin grabbed it to hold it steady. Once, twice, three times Marisa injected Shiro with three different syringes. The psychopathic vampire shut up almost instantly and went back to her dozy state. He had no idea what Shiro was screaming about, but she had stopped and that was the main thing.

"How long were you two watching?"

"She tried hurting herself, mew."

Fang nodded back in reply, but stopped suddenly when Shiro... hugged him? Grabbed him? Did something, though it didn't seem hostile. Kerin blinked at the two of them. Wow, Shiro was definitely drugged. Kerin took a glance at the time on a clock. It was heading to half past. Bernkastel was meant to be coming at ten, so they probably had to do something. Or Marisa had to do something and Kerin would just help since he didn't have a creative bone in his body. Except music, but that didn't really count. That was something Kerin would like to do one last time before the games, hopefully. Music.

"Should we bring her up to Marisa's room for the rest of the night since... aren't we all going to be up there? For the party or whatever?" Kerin looked over at Marisa then Fang. Shiro should not be left alone, not after what just happened. Okay, so sure, she was a psychopathic maniac that had threatened to kill Marisa before, but something had happened to her. The Shiro that had screamed at Kerin when they had first talked in the government building would not have tried to end her life like that. Heck, weren't they trying to survive?

Chapter 3- Bernkastel Vermillia - Demon District

"Xavier...?" His arms mimic mine, and wrap around me slowly. It was out of character for him to show emotion, so why now? Had my own, one-sided friendly behavior contribute to this? I'm beginning to ask if something is wrong, when it happens. He pulls me in a little closer, and connects our lips. Though it was a brief experienced, I am floored by this action. What drove him to commit this act? Did he think that perhaps, I had shown kindness to only him? People described me as emotionless, strong, brave... But that isn't how I see it. It's so much more detailed than that. I don't want to get close to anyone, because I am scared. Scared that I will kill my best friend for my own selfish desire. The desire to keep a single being, was what drove my instinct to kill. I would commit all sins imaginable, if it meant he could continue living. I would and did, quite literally, die for him.

He pulled away almost immediately, and even with my lips willingness to speak, I couldn't. All I had were questions. Why did you kiss me? What did the kiss mean? How could you do that to me? You made my third participation in these games, all the more painful. Because, in my mind, it feels as though your intake on me is more than just allies.

My arms fall to my sides, as I think this through. Surely, he would need to have liked me, to kiss me. My gut was telling me this was wrong. That this was what I wanted to avoid. I didn't need anyone falling for me this late in my plans. And, that included Xavier. Because I was dead, did not mean I was heartless, either. I went against my gut just becoming his ally. I was following what I thought was right. What was right.

With my hand, I turn his face to look at me. The blush on his cheeks are unmistakable. His hair, now dry, hides the chocolate orbs which surely hold his embarrassment. My thumb brushes against the lips that took my breath away.

"Xavier... There isn't a need to apologize. Not ever. Especially when it made me realize that even if my life was taken away, I am blessed with people like you. So instead of apologizing to me, apologize to the food for making it run cold." I smile lightly, and pluck my lips against his cheek. "...Though the food might be a little less forgiving."

Chapter 3 - Marisa Ryunatta - Vampire District

"Mew! Let's take her upstairs! Yuppies!" I cried out happily, flailing my arms. When Shiro was like this, everything was fine! Besides, if she needed another shot, there were morphine needles all over the place. You know? For pain? I went over to Shiro and smiled brightly. "She gets an invitation. Uu!" Shiro whimpered at Marisa, and hid further behind Fang. Fang looked rather awkward with her on his back. One minute, she was threatening to kill him, next minute, hugging his back like a koala. I giggled and took the older girl's hand. "Let's go~!" And I began dragging her to the elevator. There was no resistance from her, as she stumbled to keep up. When we all packed into the elevator, I made it my duty to press my floor button dramatically.

When we came to my room, I immediately rushed to the balcony. Yes! It wasn't raining anymore! The wind was practically non-existant, too! "Outside! Party outside!" I chirped, sliding the door away. Since it was still wet, I took caution at climbing the steps. However, once I was on the roof, I giggled and began running around to check the place. It was mostly empty space, but off on the corner opposite from the training center, was a greenhouse! I decided to check that out later. The roof was pretty much a pool with how much water was covering it. Hmmm... Lightbulb! I rushed past everyone and went back inside. When I returned, I had a huge armful of towels that I couldn't see over. "Dry!" I cried, plopping the pile on the roof. I stared with sparkling eyes, waiting for the towels to soak up all the water. Seconds later, I frowned and nudged the mound. "Towel family won't help!" I cried, looking as though I was going to cry. Weren't towels like, super-absorb-monsters? Sam never failed me before! This was a total 'OTL' moment for me.

The_Original_Raitan July 25th, 2011 12:21 PM

Xavier breathes shakily, in disbelief of all of what had just happened. He..he...hugged Bern...he....kissed her. Xavier kissed Bern. KISSED. BERNKASTEL. VERMILIA. What, what was wrong with him?! He had just showed the most complex emotion of all of them! Xavier hardly even showed the simplest of emotions, let alone affection! He..he must be drugged, or this is a dream. There's no way that his could actually be happening! "......"

His eyes widen when Bernkastel's hand lightly turns his head to face her. Through his hair, he can see Bern's emerald eyes trail from his cheeks, to where his eyes are. She looks...oddly dazed, thoughts appearing to run through her mind. Wh-what was she thinking...? "..." Xavier's breath hitches as his lips are ran across by Bern's thumb.

"So-sorr--" He's cut off. "Xavier... There isn't a need to apologize. Not ever. Especially when it made me realize that even if my life was taken away, I am blessed with people like you. So instead of apologizing to me, apologize to the food for making it run cold." She smiles, and he feels his lips attempt to arch forward. He didn't care what he did at this point, realizing that this, was all too real. Bern's lips hit Xavier's cheek. "...Though the food might be a little less forgiving." Xavier brushes his hair out of his eyes, to get a closer look at Bern's face. Her lips...are still arched upwards. She looks...beautiful. Xavier, on a rare occasion in his life, let's his lips raise. He is smiling at Bernkastel.

Chapter 3- Bernkastel Vermillia - Demon District

When he smiles back at me, there was both joy, and horror. Joy, because I could make a person like him smile. Horror, because I will have a difficult time when he dies. What did I get myself into...? I don't show any distress, however. I can't have him thinking up something absurd. I keep myself smiling, as I begin to move away.

"... I'll be going, now. Even though I got mor1ght with that. See you," I stop just at the elevator, and look over my shoulder. "You might find yourself more comfortable in the room i've had for three years." I step inside, and the moment those sliding metal doors close, I lose it. I kick the walls and hold my face with one hand. Stupid! That wasn't in my plan! I wasn't expecting an ally to kiss me! That was going to put a dent in everything I had prepared...

I compose myself just as the doors open, and I step into the training center. At first glance, it looks like everyone left. Another, proves me wrong. Leaning up against the frame supporting the far left corner, is Natruo. Which means, Ryuu is in his room preparing for the fight. I do my best to ignore him; look straight and go immediately to the Vampire Tower. However, this doesn't prevent Natruo from taking attention to me. He appears between me and the elevator with a huge smirk.

"Hello pumpkin, what color does a street light have to be in order to go?"

I give him a blank look. "Ironic how you actually need to know the answer. Green." I continue moving, but he slams his arm out in my way. Stupid God...

"Very funny, little witch. How hard should I go on this Ryuu character?" I glare at him, but my eyes quickly settle. "Have him hit you around a bit, then give him a few good knocks. Kill."

"Speaking of that, when will you stop giving me a hard time? You're making my reputation quite little."

"Yes, and my reputation is strong. Are you done talking? I have places to be..."

Natruo doesn't answer. Instead, he drives a hard punch into my gut. I get a jolt of pain, before I stumble back. Ugh... My worst worries don't include internal damage. Mostly me throwing up. I stagger a bit, before adjusting to the idea. Natruo smirks and positions himself for physical combat. Combat which I suck horribly at. "Natruo, I don't have time for this..."

"Yeah, well I do!" I sigh at him. Good Lord... Doesn't he ever learn? I bite my thumb, and run a line of blood across my arm.

"Lucifier, awaken," I mumble.

~~~~~~~~
"At least you have three hours to heal..."
I step into the elevator, and watch the broken man curse under his breath. A figure, standing at an unearthly seven foot, looms over him with a grin. Natruo is beaten bloody. Well, he had plenty of time to be brand new for Ryuu's fight. "Lucifier, meet me on the rooftop." The figure nods, and disappears just as the doors close.
"This should be one interesting party..."
Chapter 3- Mammon - ???
"Shhh~" It sounds almost as if I am hissing... Like a snake. My smoke of red hangs loose at Raike's left ear. I had known he was here since he entered the building. Silly human... If he really thought he could eavesdrop here and not get caught, he had another thing coming. My voice directly went into his head, so there wasn't a worry for him. He just had to listen, was all!
"Aren't you a little spy... Cute. You better leave before Xavier catches you~ I'd wait until late tonight to speak with Bernkastel~ She's a very busy woman as you can see. Now shoo, before I expose you. Bern would definitely become your worst enemy if she found out you were eavesdropping~!"
SkyisUmbreon July 25th, 2011 3:33 PM
((First person attempt XD))
-I managed a devlish smile, my eyes flickering to my left where the voice was loudest. My hand found its way to the top of my head, and scratched it casually for a few seconds. The stairs didn't do much to cushion my body, and was becoming a bit uncomfortable, although I refused to let it show. There also seemed to be the smell of blood in the air, or maybe it was just her. I lowered my eyelids slightly, speaking in a near silent, somewhat sly tone in response.-
"Whatever are you talking about, my dear? I was just enjoying a nice nap on these stairs. You see, the air conditioning at my distric's place is on the fritz, so I thought I would try it out here. I can assure you I was not committing the vile and repulsive act that you name as, "spying.""
-I stretched obnoxiously, testing out each of my limbs to make sure they were not asleep, before standing up quietly and moving to the top of the staircase before turning around. Why not throw in some flattery while he was at it? Might make the escape more smooth anyway. As I started to speek, I edged slowly towards the elevator, stressing some words more than others.-
"You know, you have a wonderful voice, it was as if you were singing in my head rather than talking regularly. Also your beautiful dress, I mean I cannot see it now, but I hope you got all of those blood stains out of it. Also that wonderful perfume, it's so... look at me I can't even describe it! Oh, and your hair-"
-I was cut off as the elevator doors closed in front of me, and as it started to decend, I couldn't help but snicker at my stupid cover-up. When I was done, I found there was nothing else I could really do for the rest of the day, since I didn't know where Bernkastel had gone, and I didn't really feel like training or sleeping. In the end I went to the roof of my own district's building. Sitting down on the ledge, I leaned back and closed by eyes, feeling the night breeze brush over my skin and ruffle my hair. I was actually at peace, at least until I heard someone yelling from across the training field.
It was coming from the Vampire district's place, Raike opened one eye to see 3 people standing outside on one of the balconies.-
The_Original_Raitan July 25th, 2011 3:55 PM
Xavier closes his eyes shortly after, his smile not going to move off of his face. He was full of a light feeling that went away as soon as Bernkastel moved off of him, and said these words, "... I'll be going, now. Even though I got mor1ght with that. See you," she said. Bern stepped into the elevator, but Xavier's light smile is wiped right off of his face. He heard a bang come from the elevator. Did she....Not like what he did? The kiss? She had smiled...Was she faking happiness, so he'd still be her ally. "...." Xavier's usual blank face turned into a frown, and his eye twitched. It seemed to fit together well enough...Bernkastel using him...She was a two time winner, correct? She'd do anything to win at this point....That little... Xavier stood up from his chair, his hair repositioned to cover his rapidly twitching eyes. How dare she mess with his emotions?! Xavier pushed the chair back, and walked straight into the elevator. He saw Mammon, but didn't question her presence, well, he completely ignored her. "......" Xavier practically jabbed his button on the elevator, and went up.
An audible 'ding' rang across after a few moments, and the elevator doors opened up immediately after. '...Generic, of course...' His dark brown eyes scanned across the room, inwardly laughing at how absolutely blank it was. Well, it was rich-looking, but it still fitted the term, generic. It also fitted the term, large. More like huge. There was...too much empty space. So much area...wasted. Xavier's eyes looked up towards the miniature chandelier lighting up the room, to the abnormally big bed. It was...like someone had meant for the entire planet to fit on that thing, metaphorically speaking. Xavier slowly made his way over to the bed, eying the small wardrobe beside it. "....?" He opened it to find clothing. Newly made clothing. "Xavier took one and examined it. They had branded his 'trademark logo' on it. The omega, right where he usually has them. On the shoulder.
Xavier placed the clothing back in the wardrobe, and sat down on his bed. Well, for a second that was anyway. "!!!" A loud squeak filled the room, and he quickly made his way from the bed. He eyed it like it was going to murder him. "....W-who's there....?" A head poked out of the covers, it was smirking. Amber hair, violet eyes, and a now innocent facial expression. Paris Junibe. ".....P-paris....?" A bright pink moved onto his cheeks.
Chapter 3- Mammon - ???
Even after he left, I was roaring in laughter. That excuse and form of flattery was just so lame...! This was certainly an interesting human. And I was definitely going to have fun with him.
"Now I won't be bored~!"
~~~~~~~~~

I reappeared on the rooftop of the human's building, no longer smoke, but in my humanoid form. My cranberry-colored hair was tucked back in a ponytail, but it just flamed out. My bangs, covered most of my right eye. I lept over the ledge, and sat beside Raike.

"Perfume? Seriously? I smell blood. So, you like the scent, even though you're not a vampire~?.... That's weird." I said blankly, picking at the bones which lined the bottom of my dress. "Atleast you weren't assuming that we take compliments which would normally be insults. Like~ 'Oh Raike~! You're the most vile, grosstique, pedo in all of the Underworld~!' I didn't mean that, but you get my point. Good Lord... Who makes up this stuff?" I roll my eyes, which quickly move to the three vampires outside the other building. Gosh. Was Raike a stalker or something? "I don't think eavedropping works from this far away," I teased. "And why would you need air-conditioning when it's cold? Don't tell me you're one of those reptile people.

SkyisUmbreon July 25th, 2011 5:50 PM

-I barely showed any emotion when she appeared beside me. This time she was in a solid form, wearing the same dress I had just complimented only a few seconds ago. I supposed it was slightly foolish of me to believe that his plan had worked. I had heard some kind of laughter coming from the room after I had left, but it had been drowned out by my own. Now I was on the roof trying to achieve some sort of peace, and of course, she shows up. I decided to go along with what I had said before.-

"Well, yes I do kind of like the scent. I don't go all crazy and weird when that happens though, so I guess I'm good." As I saw her picking at her dress, I frowned slightly "You shouldn't do that, you'll ruin it eventually, and that would be a waste." As she commended me for not asuming that a compliment to a demon was the opposite of what it would be to a human, I shrugged slightly, saying that It had crossed my mind. I laughed slightly at her example, before turning his attention back to the three that she had mentioned, sayng that eavesdropping wouldn't work from this height. "Apparently it seems that whenever I try to find some peace of my own, it seems that I am stalking? Interesting...

Nah, I'm not a reptile person, although they are pretty cool... but why did you follow me here Mammon? You fell in love with me at first or something?" I asked with a slight grin on his face, returning the tease.-

Chapter 3- Paris Junibe - Demon District

There I was. Sleeping peacefully in Xavier's bed, when BAM! Somebody goes to sit on me! I don't know who, so I immediately, on instinct, let out a squeak. When I pull away the blankets, I can't help but smirk when I see that it is Xavier. My face turns innocent and I blink. He says my name, but I only nod to aknowledge. I tap my lips, and make a zipping motion over them. I was refering to the deal, which I was unable to perform in the helicopter because of Bern. I was to be silent, and he would let me do whatever I wanted~! I smiled, and quickly flung the blankets back over my head.

Chapter 3- Xavier Ray Harrah - Demon District

Xavier blinked furiously when she only nods at him. Why wasn't she just speaking to him like she norm--Paris taps her lips and 'zips' them. ".....!!!" Xavier's eyes widen lightly, realizing that the deal was still in effect. She...was being quiet, so she could do anything to him. Oh crap. "...." Xavier slowly begins to back away, grabbing a shirt from his warddrobe, and pulling himself over to the elevator door. Xavier couldn't let her get the chance while they were in a room, more like, in private! Paris could literally do ANYTHING she wanted when they were in private. "....." Xavier is just about to make it to the door.

Chapter 3- Mammon - ???

I laugh lightly, and swing my legs around. He was still playing that charade? "Fine~ Didn't realize I was in the presence of someone who appreciates feminine clothing... Jeez." I roll my eyes at him. At least he wasn't all stuck-up and serious. That was a bonus to the whole spying thing. He really couldn't fool me, but it looked like he was gonna stick to his story.

"Me? Like YOU? Please," I wipe away a fake tear of laughter. "You care kinda cute, but it's not like I'll hook up with you anytime soon. If I'm so attractive, don't you think i'd have someone by now? Gosh... You're hilarious. I guess I won't eat you," I grin devilishly. It's always fun to tease what humans rumored about demons... That we'll eat your body and soul... That kind of stuff. Everything about us was totally wrong. Hell? More like, Shadowland and Underworld. Flames? Only if Lucifier got mad from someone stealing his last brownie. Oh Lord...

"I was joking. Anyways, I'm here, because I don't have a scythe to slice peoples heads off with. I was downsized to..." I easily make the item appear in my hand. "A toothbrush. Let me brush your teeth to death!" I paused. "I'm not the Tooth Fairy."

Chapter 3- Paris Junibe - Demon District

The second I heard his footsteps moving away, I flung the blankets off of me. It wasn't like I was naked! I was in pajamas! I blow a strand of hair out of my face, as I say; "Jeez... Just because I'm a celebrity doesn't mean I'm a bad person. Look," I stick my leg out of bed. Long-legged jamies. "Pa-ja-mas. These rooms are too wide open for me. I need clutter!" I smile and pat the spot beside me. "Relax. I broke the deal just explaining myself. Where's your girlfriend?"

Chapter 3- Xavier Ray Harrah - Demon District

Xavier blinked when he saw the blanket's reach for the air, and Paris looking right at him, blowing a hair out of her face. What was she doing? "Jeez... Just because I'm a celebrity doesn't mean I'm a bad person. Look." Paris immediately stuck a leg out from under the covers, showing long legged pajamas. Pajamas? What was she implying that he was thinking? Nakedness? No. He just thought she'd touch him or something like that..."Pa-ja-mas. These rooms are too wide open for me. I need clutter!" Xavier tilted his head, his eyebrows now raised. Paris was thinking the same thing he was..? Hm. "Relax. I broke the deal just explaining myself. Where's your girlfriend?" Xavier walked over to the spot she patted quietly, sitting criss cross next to her. "...You need clutter too...?" ....But what did she mean, 'girlfriend'? He doesn't have one of those..."....What do you mean by girlfriend, Paris? I do not have a girlfriend...."

Chapter 3- Paris Junibe - Demon District

I smiled gratefully when he sat down beside me. He needed to chill. I wasn't bad ALL the time. "Yea, open space like this gives me the creeps. I'm an anti-claustrophobic. You too?" I asked, tilting my head back at him. When he asked what I meant, I huffed, before falling onto my side. "I'm talking about that famous Bernka--...Whatever her name is. She totally had the hots for you. I thought maybe you'd get the clue when she nearly pierced my eyes with a rose stem! All honesty, I'm scared to be within twenty feet of you because she gave me a legit death threat! How is she NOT your girlfriend? One-sided?"

Chapter 3- Xavier Ray Harrah - Demon District

Xavier stared down at his lap when he sat down beside her, and fiddled around with his fingers a bit. He...needed to relax, and he knew it. "Yea, open space like this gives me the creeps. I'm an anti-claustrophobic. You too?" Xavier looked over to her curiously, nodding slowly. Well, he had lived in a confided space for a while, so it's only natural. Paris huffed, before continuing. One-sided?" Oh, her. Yeah, whatever, Paris. That was a flat out lie. Not from her, but by Bernkastel. "....It's not one-sided...Nor is it two-sided....She's just acting, Paris....I kissed her, and when she got into the elevator to leave, she hit the wall or something....Obviously, Bern doesn't like me at all...." Xavier turned his face back to his lap blankly.

Chapter 3- Paris Junibe - Demon District

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm gonna give you two senarios where that would make sense. One, she was overwhelmed by the kiss, and she collapsed in the elevator. Two," I held out two fingers, while staring at the ceiling. "She's protecting you. Half the people here are trying to find her weakness, so if they found out that she likes you, they'll hold you hostage or something. Senario number two sounds a lot more likely. She's protecting you, but since she's emotionless, she doesn't know how to explain it to you." I sat back up, and did my best impression of Bern. Bored tone and everything. "... We can't kiss or show affection. I don't want people to see..." I looked at Xavier. "How would you react to that? You'd take that the wrong way, and think that she's embarrassed to be with you. Understand?" I hit the top of my head, with my fist. "Sorry~ Talking too much."

Chapter 3- Xavier Ray Harrah - Demon District

Xavier took in all of this information, letting it soak into the core of his brain. Bernkastel, might actually like him? And wanted to protect him? Pssh. Yeah Riiigghhht. Sarcasm, folks. "....Even though I doubt that she likes me that way....I guess I'll have to think about it...." Xavier plopped down on his back, turning his body to stare at Paris, his now unconcealed chocolate eyes melting into her violet pair. "......."

Chapter 3 - Raike Destan - Human District

"Fine~ Didn't realize I was in the presence of someone who appreciates feminine clothing... Jeez."Says Mammon, causing me to smirk once more. I didn't particularly like the smell of blood, but I didn't t hate it either so not too much of a problem there. She had said before that it was an assumption most people made about demons that they thought that what a compliment was to a human, it was an insult to them, and vice-versa. She was almost completely contradicting herself by saying that, at least in my mind.

"Okay then, guess I shouldn't say that it looks good on you, since that would be wrong right? Heh Demons are hard to understand." I paused for a second before continuing. "Make that women in general."

"Me? Like YOU? Please," I wipe away a fake tear of laughter. "You care kinda cute, but it's not like I'll hook up with you anytime soon. If I'm so attractive, don't you think i'd have someone by now? Gosh... You're hilarious. I guess I won't eat you"

-I shrugged slightly, allowing the wind to move the hair covering my left eye briefly before it returned to its spot.-"Cute huh? I'll take that. Not like I planned to hook up with you anyway... oh, and you said anytime soon, but you didn't say never, might have to make a little change of plans." I said jokingly. "And I actually am surprised, but a little happy you don't possess the seductive nature that Miss Paris has, that would be kinda annoying, and I know you would never try to annoy me.

I'm glad you won't eat me, see I need to live in order to win the games, or help Bern with what she plans to do, whichever seems more favorable."

"I was joking. Anyways, I'm here, because I don't have a scythe to slice peoples heads off with. I was downsized to..." I easily make the item appear in my hand. "A toothbrush. Let me brush your teeth to death!" I paused. "I'm not the Tooth Fairy."

I sighed" Does that mean I don't get a quarter for the tooth I want to knock out of Ryuu's mouth? Well you're not wearing a light blue dress, and you have no fairy wings so I guess that's a no... why are you wearing a dress anyway? Why not jeans and a shirt like a normal demoness?" I said, once more teasing. I then began to wonder why I was even talking to her. I mean, she was funny, nice wouldn't be the word for it... but a fun person I guessed... someone who I could at least go batting his weird theories at without too much confusion... someone who I could relate to maybe? Hmph...-

"How did you come to meet our friend Bern anyway huh? As well your... demoting." I said, pointing at the toothbrush.

Skymin July 26th, 2011 1:35 AM

Kerin placed Shiro into one of the many seats cluttered around the sitting room area. She looked back at him with a ditzy stare when they locked eyes. Kerin quickly looked away from her, giving her a grim smile and quickly walking away. He grabbed the bag he had brought up with him before, the one he'd gotten from the waitor person. A bag of snack things. He figured Marisa would want to make his party as... party-like as possible. He emptied the bag on a table, its contents spreading out, a few bags falling off. There were... a lot of things. Kerin didn't realise how much stuff was actually in here.

There were... a buttload of M&Ms, several different varieties of crisps, jelly babies, jelly beans, jelly fruits, jelly bears... heaps of stuff. He stepped over to the door and found a two large bowls at the entrance, used for holding those dry, sweet-smelling, flour petals. He emptied them on the tables they sat on, brought them back to his bags and filled both bowls; one with chocolates and lollies, one with crisps and popcorn. Yeah, that would do. What else did parties need? Music? He wandered over to the stereo system, put his phone into the dock and chose a song. A nice beaty one, lots of bass. One that he used to play alone to. Yeah, this one would do.

Okay, so where was Marisa? She went outside, didn't she? Kerin picked up and brought the bowls outside, only to see Marisa standing over a clump of wet towels lining the groud. Kerin screwed up his nose. They smelt bad already.

"Towel family won't help!" Marisa cried out, pouting. Kerin couldn't help but smile. Then the smile broke into a grin, then a giggle, then a hearty chuckle. Kerin laughed, and laughed for at least a good 30 seconds, to the point where he had to put the bowls down, no sound came out of his mouth and his face went red. As he began to breathe again, he gave her a light hug.

"Hahaha... haha, ha!" He wheezed out. "Oh god Marisa, you're going to kill me. Looks like you'll need Bernkastel's magic.. Ahaha! Oh boy. Okay, well, maybe we can find a mop?" He breathed out another laugh. "Or maybe a bonfire."

Chapter 3- Mammon - ???

"Just because I'm not from the Overworld like you, doesn't mean the girls are all biker chicks. Actually, hardly. We wear whatever suits our tastes." I said, on a more serious note. This boy was fun company to have. He knew how to be funny and lighthearted. Lucifier, on the other hand...

"Shush, you. I AM immortal, so there's plenty of time to fall for you at some point." I wave this off with my hand, and continue to watch the vampires. What the heck were they doing? That little girl just plopped like... A hundred towels into a puddle and just stood there... Weird.

My attention turned back to Raike, as he asked about how I met Bernkastel. Uh... Plenty complicated, but I was confident that I could summarize it. "Let's see... It wasn't that long ago, really. I met her just after Lucifier, but I think I'm her favorite~ Luci can be a bit of military, no-nonsense type, so~ Anyways. She summoned me so that she could make a contract. Now she can summon me whenever she wants~!" I grin at the last bit of his question, and twirl the toothbrush around in my fingers. In two seconds, it's a knife. "Pretty hard to restrict me, though. I can morph anything to my liking. I can turn this knife into a puppy. Or an axe murderer or something. It's the ability I was granted with. Demons from the Underworld are much more unique than the ones on this end."

Chapter 3 - Marisa Ryunatta - Vampire District

I pouted cutely at Kerin's laughter. Uu... When Fang came up to investigate, he was chuckling too. I frowned, before hugging into Kerin. "Meeewwww~" I wailed. I didn't know what was so funny! Maybe they knew the towel family was incapable of such a hard job... Hm.

"A mop? But that isn't fun! Towels are fun! Hau... I wish I knew water magic... Fang?" The boy to my left, shrugged, and began to scoop up the wet towels. A servant was about to inherit the laundry job tonight...

Just then, and unexpectedly, Shiro came up. At first I was worried that she would stumble over the railings and off the edge, but... She was oddly walking... Normally. I immediately put my guard up. Maybe I didn't put all the morphine into veins... Maybe it wore off, and she was going to attack us. Fang looked back at Shiro, and smiled.

"Hey there. You can help, right?" Shiro didn't answer, and instead began grabbing towels. Maybe she couldn't.... Wait, what was she doing? Taking the towels, she arranged them to be against the railing, so after a few minutes, the wet towels traced the roofs edge. She made sure the towels were connected, before mumbling something about rain. She came to about the center of the rooftop, kneeled down, and began mumbling some more. Alright, she was pretty stran- Wait. What?

"....?" I watched as all the water on the roof, began to slide away from Shiro's position in the center. When I listened, I could actually hear that the water was falling through the towels and railing, and off the edge! Cool! Within about a minute, the place was spotless of water. I beamed, since that trick was almost as cool as the one Bern did. Shiro, not aknowledging that she helped us, went off to sit in a corner beside the greenhouse. Fang blinked a bit, before smiling. "There. She's not all bad. She just needed medicine for her pain." I nodded in agreement, and quickly went to work fixing everything up. "Bern will be here soon~!"

Skymin July 26th, 2011 4:34 AM

"... Cool," was all Kerin could say. Not sarcastically, he was quite amazed. Second lot of magic in one day, a record! Surely he's be seeing a lot more once the games started, but probably not in a harmless kind of way. Shiro skulked off after her bit was done. Kerin blinked at her, then shrugged. Okay, whatever. At least the popcorn wasn't going to get damp.

Okay, so what else did they need? Nothing, as far as Kerin could tell. Music could be heard from Marisa's room, food was here, people were here and coming. That was it, wasn't it? Kerin ducked back into Marisa's room and checked a clock. It was almost twenty to. He went back out to the rooftop, Marisa was doing something or other. Wait... lights. It wasn't bright enough here. Kerin headed back again into her room and grabbed a few lamps. A dozen, maybe. There were so many of them around the place, Kerin was sure nobody would really care. They had bucket loads of money anyways. He took off all the lamp shades and pulled out the insides, keeping the base and lightbulb connected to all the wires. Then, he striped the ends of the wires of the plastic outer coating with his fingernails and twisted the positive wire to the negative wire on another bulb, wrapping the two wires closely together so that they wouldn't fall out of place. He continued the process until he had fourteen or fifteen bulbs on a long wire, like enormous fairy lights. He plugged it in to test it. At first, it didn't work. He frowned and tightened all the bulbs in their bases. After he got to the sixth or seventh, all of the lights suddenly flickered, then beamed brightly. He smiled. Well, at least he wasn't totally useless. This was basic wiring. He had to know a little since his inexpensive and crappy bass always needed a tune up. He gathered them up and quickly looked at the clock. Almost five to. Okay. He brought them up to the roof and started hanging them up, then plugged it in into the generator next to the barbecue.

"Hey Marisa! Look at this," he pointed at them as they fllickered on. It was... pretty, was the only word Kerin could find. Quite pretty.

SkyisUmbreon July 26th, 2011 7:35 AM

"Haha, I never said that all girls in the underworld had to be biker chicks. Thats what the girls in my district always wear, unless going to some kind of formal event... or formal schools.-I shivered slightly after saying that, then trying to picture myself all dressed up to go to some school everyday, five days a week. I would be completely miserable, might even lead a rebellion against the staff. "I prefer those kinds of girls anyway, free spirited, not afraid to go casual." I said, looking away.

After hearing her second response, I chuckled slightly, but chose not to pursue it. It didn't really seem like I would be able to tease her any longer with that anyway.-

"Lucifer, huh? That wouldn't happen to be... the snake "tattoo" that moved around her body, would it?" I said, before moving on as if I had never said anything. "She made a contract with you... so that she can summon you whenever... but there is a price no? As far as I know, those types of contracts always have certain prices..."

-Seeing the knife I took hold of it by the blade. It took almost no effort for me to melt that blade down with my magic, before drawing a fancy "M" with my finger in the metal, and cooling it by taking the heat from it, and back into his own body. Picking up the metal from the molten pool with my bare hands, I examined it for a few seconds before offering it to Mammon.-

"I can morph things too... well kinda. Don't worry, it's not hot."

Chapter 3 - Marisa Ryunatta - Vampire District

"They're really pretty, Kerin-sama!" I cried out. My eyes sparkled in awe as I looked at the string of lights. Kerin was really amazing to make something like this. He was kind, protective, creative, and really strong! There was probably only one person in the entire world that was as amazing as he was. And that person was...

"...It's beautiful. Creative, really..." The woman stood at the top of the stairs; a hand resting on the smooth steel railing. Bernkastel Vermillia. "This is more than what I expected. The lights really do add a nice touch. I'm impressed." I stared at her for a moment. This was the beautiful, young woman who slept through the screams of a man having his body eaten away by acid. The demon that has killed countless people indirectly. The girl who claimed she was dead, was in a dress.

"... I did not know if I was supposed to dress for this occassion." She explained. Her hair was untouched, but she still had the witches' hat atop her head. The dress was simple, yet it fit her profile so well. It was a fine black dress, that came down past her heels. It was one of those breathable, casual dresses. The ones that didn't cling to your belly button. But she wasn't just wearing the dress. She also had on a plain black jacket that was about to her thighs. That, was kept undone. She wore the same shoes and stockings as she did with her previous outfit, too. Her dusk-colored wings were crossed behind her back, with the feathers curling into view at her hips. Those pools of emerald, focused on me.

I beamed. "Bern!"

Chapter 3- Mammon - Underworld

I huffed, when he explained what he meant by the comment. Good Lord... I may not be from the Overworld, but he didn't seem to have a problem in giving me a hard time. He wasn't the slightest bit daunted that I could, quite possibly, kill him with the flick of my wrist! What was the world coming to?

"Yeah, Lucifier is the tattoo." I confirmed. "He's normally in that form because it takes a lot less energy to be a tattoo, than to morph into a humanoid form. We're not aloud to show our real appearances in the Overworld, so we usually are just in forms recongnizable here." I paused, to think through his question. "I can't say how she paid for the contract, but I can tell you she got a bargain." I grinned, thinking about that moment... Not long ago where Bernkastel appeared in the Underworld; determined to get a contract with us...

I watch the human with curious eyes as he melts my knife, and engraves my first initial into it. I smile. "So you know fire magic? That's quite interesting, for a human. I'm sure Bern will take it into consideration if you ask her for an alliance. But, I suggest only showing your magic capabilities to her."

My eyes trailed to the fancy fixture of lights one of the vampires created. Fluttering over bya lightbulb, was a pink-ish moth. I straightened up, and looked around at the few strange things now at the vampire's tower. The moth. Over on the railing was a white crow. On top of the greenhouse, was a black lizard. And finally, there was a grey cat perched on the stairs. I tilted my head, and pointed these four things out. "Those are the other demons like me. Bernkastel must be clo- Oh, there she is." I nodded at the building, as she came outside and onto the roof. "Wonder why everyones out..."

Chapter 3- Xavier Ray Harrah (x) Paris Junibe - Demon District

(All 'I' paragraphs are from Paris's point-of-view.)

My cheeks were brushed a light pink when the boy laid down and gazed at me. For once, I could see the eyes normally concealed beneath his hair. Maybe I shouldn't have come to Bernkastel's defense. Who cared if I was two feet from Xavier Ray Harrah? Bern wasn't here to stop me. I smiled at Xavier. "Are you going to bed?" I asked innocently, fiddling with my lemo-yellow pajama shirt.

Xavier raised his eyebrows when Paris's cheeks suddenly changed into a light pink tint. "....?" He poked the left cheek, noting how it was slightly warm. Well, warmer than regular body temperature. She smiled at Xavier, asking this question innocently, "Are you going to bed?" Xavier shrugged. "....If I can.....I don't think I will if I have to be here alone....I usually have my dog lay beside me......." He blinked innocently.

"!!!" I squeezed my eyes closed when his finger reached out and poked my cheek. What was he doing?! I opened one of my eyes, and looked at him. "I can stay with you," I offered.

Xavier blinked when he heard Paris's proposal, and he stared for a few moments. "......" Well, it's better than nothing, Xavier. He moved closer to her, moving an arm around her form. "....Deal...No touchies....." He layed his head down on the pillows. "......"

"You're the one touching me..." I smiled, but dealt with it. Curling my arms into my own body, I resisted the urges tempting me. "You should trust me more," I whispered, closing my eyes and curling my head in automatically. How awkward. Especially if Bern walked in. Yikes. She'd murder me. No joke.

"You're the one touching me..." Xavier sighed, knowing well that what she was saying, was indeed right. The only reason why he was touching her, is because him and Toro slept like this. Xavier would pull Toro into him, and his dog would coo into him. Ugh. THat means Paris would have to touch him for him to be comfortable. Fan-tastic. "You should trust me more." Slowly, he whispers to her. "....Fine. Touchies are allowed......."

"Yes!' I smirked inwardly, and carefully nestled myself into him. No funny business. I needed him to trust me. I kept my eyes closed, and with each move I made, I was careful not to go over what I could do. My arm found its way over him, and I relaxed myself. "....."

Xavier calmed when she nestled herself into him. It was...comfortable, he could say. He could get some sleep now at least. "....." Xavier didn't protest her moving an arm around him, but instead moved closer against her, and closed his eyes shut. "....."

Skymin July 27th, 2011 3:54 AM

"Bern!" Marisa called out behind Kerin. He spun around to see the demon standing there, in a... beautiful black, simple dress, her dark wings and hat complimenting it nicely. She looked a lot nicer than Kerin did anyway. He looked down glumly at his own attire. Jeans, converse shoes, white tee, blue hoodie and his biker cuff. He would probably be wearing his parka if Marisa wasn't already. He was severely under dressed compared to the demon. Oh well.

"Not really creative," Kerin laughed at Bernkastel. "Just... smart I guess. Simple wiring stuff. I couldn't have a dozen lamps out here, could I?" He rubbed at his face. Smart wasn't the right word either. He wasn't smart at all, he didn't even go to high school. Well, he couldn't. He was too busy... you know, well, whatever. Spontaneous? Innovative? ... Convenient? It didn't matter than much. He moved over to the table and grabbed a handful of M&Ms and shoved them all into his mouth, chewed them quickly and swallowed. Well, they tasted great.

"Anyways, hi Bernkastel," he moved over to Marisa and stood next to her. God, he didn't know what to do. He'd never been to a real party before. Except those lame church parties his father had. Surely Marisa had an idea?

Chapter 3- Bernkastel Vermillia - Demon District

"Anyways, hi Bernkastel,"

My gaze raised to Kerin. The change in clothing seemed to have not been needed. Although, my regular clothing may also be considered formal in this situation. It was, most likely, more awkward for them than it was for me. What to do... What to do... I could always have Mammon change my clothes, but... Would I be willing to take the risk that these vampires do not become my allies? Then again, if I used her to change my outfit, they may feel guilty and say something along the lines of; "Oh, you didn't have to change", which would make me automatically change back, which would make the situation more awkward. Was I thinking about this too much? I think I was.

Wheither Kerin realized this or not, not every teenager knows 'basic' wiring like this. So, already I was interested in Kerin's capabilities. There was also Fang and Marisa too, but I knew much about Marisa already. Oh, there was also Shiro. Upon further inspection, I saw her hiding beside the greenhouse. She must have been the one that dried off the roof for our use.

Calmly, I walked over to Kerin. "... I've never been to a party before. People are almost quite commonly afraid to even talk to me.... Bern. Call me Bern, please." I looked down at Marisa, whom was in turn, looking up at me. "I'm going to suppose that this party will be mostly to get to know eachother..." I looked over at Fang, whom had taken notice to the odd moth flying over by the lights. "In order to get to know eachother, lets agree to not lie. That in of itself should be a simple task. Simplicity leads to allies. Understand?" Marisa gives me a little nod, before sliding behind Kerin. "I'm sorry. I just thought the statement would be nesessary." Fang has now noticed the lizard. Wonder how long it'll take until he sees the cat or crow or... I glance over at the Human District Tower.

It's no miracle that I can see them in the darkness of the night. Demons just have extraordinary eyesight. So do angels. It's common ground, because both species fly, and need to be able to see clearly. Mammon and Raike are sitting up on the roof. Mammon... With Raike?

I listen to the music being broadcasted from Marisa's room for a moment. The silver cat with they red eyes, is now off the stairs and underneath the tables. Fang is raising his eyebrows at me, because it's quite I'm the cause of these strange appearances. He moves cautiously over to us, and spots the crow which has perched over by Shiro.

"Uh, Bern?" He asks. The pink moth lands on my hat, but I don't wave it away. This makes Fang nervous. He makes a face and moves around on his feet. I can't help it now. I smile ever so lightly.

"What? Don't tell me you're afraid of a cute moth..."

Skymin July 29th, 2011 6:53 AM

"I've never been to a party before. People are almost quite commonly afraid to even talk to me.... Bern. Call me Bern, please. I'm going to suppose that this party will be mostly to get to know eachother. In order to get to know eachother, lets agree to not lie. That in of itself should be a simple task. Simplicity leads to allies. Understand?" Her gaze switches between the four of us as she finishes each sentence. As she finished the rhetorical question, Kerin felt Marisa creeping behind him. She was being a little ominous, Kerin had to admit. Though Marisa seemed to know Bern a little or something, the way she had been talking about her before. Or was that like the same way people talk about celebrities? Bernkastel's gaze trailed back to Marisa. "I'm sorry. I just thought the statement would be nesessary."

"Well, Bern, neither have I," Kerin took his time with the word Bern. It was like Burn. Burn, Burn-kah-stel. Well, Bern was easier to say, though Bernkastel was far more interesting. "I was never invited to any," he gave a small laugh. He was a little nervous, yeah, but this was for the good of all of them, right? Kerin would just have to grow a bigger set of balls and suck it in. This was for Marisa's safety, after all! Kerin breathed in. Ah, better! "Sure, no lies. Agreed." What could he possibly have to lie about anyways? It's not like there was anything remotely worth hiding in his life.

Kerin's eyes flickered as he saw something move near the table. As he looked over, there was nothing he could see. He squinted though he wasn't bothered enough to physically get on his knees and look under it.

"Uh, Bern?" Kerin looked over at Fang and followed his eyes over to Bernkastel. What was he looking a-- oh. A moth? That was it?

"What? Don't tell me you're afraid of a cute moth," Bernkastel gave a small smile. Kerin looked back and forward between the two. Seriously, what was the big deal? Kerin had seen moths before. Maybe not pink ones, but Bernkastel was a girl with a snake tattoo on her arm. A snake tattoo that moved. Nothing surprised him much at the moment. Well, except for Shiro, because she was just... weird.

"Uh," Kerin blinked. It would help if maybe this scene wasn't so awkward. What was going on? Would Marisa know? Oh, that brain thing was still connected in. He concentrated his thoughts and tried to make them aloud without speaking. Nrrgghh, this was still weird. 'Hey Marisa, can you hear me? ... Um, what do we do now?'

SkyisUmbreon July 29th, 2011 8:21 PM

-I was slightly amused with the look Mammon gave me when we were talking. She seemed to wonder why I was so comfortable talking to her when she could kill me easily, probably by some weird incantation or maybe just by cutting my throat. I wasn't really sure of that answer myself, maybe it was just because I had nothing to lose and I knew that. My death wouldn't bring great suffering to my district, and my winning wouldn't bring me too much joy either, having nothing and nobody to take that victory home to.-

"Well, I knew it was some kind of binding agreement, because that's what it usually is. You are a demon... no offence, so you could probably kill me right now right, no effort? It would make the game a bit more easy for you guys, so why have you not done it yet?" I murmured.

-When I heard Mammon explain that the possibility for an alliance with Bernkastel was quite fair, if I showed her my powers, I scoffed. It was a common steriotype, especially around demons, that humans were weak, no matter what they could do. Then again, when I thought about it, Bern didn't seem to follow the crowd like that... As I turned my attention back to the "party zone" I began to see certain creatures beggining to gather around that area.-

"Those are Demons like me... Bern must be clo-" said Mammon, cutting off just as Bernkastel stepped onto the balcony. She looked... beautiful, at least in my eyes. Still, what was going on down there was supposed to be a party, and that wasn't exactly, party attire. She started socializing with the others, and then, through the colorful lights, I felt her eyes lock on to our position, but only for a few seconds. We had been spotted... oh well; I tossed her a mischevious smile, along with a peace sign before turning back to Mammon with a blank face.-

"Why are you going to kill Fausto? Natruo is no longer within him, so he is no longer a danger... so why? And also why haven't you at least punished me for... well you know."

-For some strange reason, my face had become slightly hotter, so I turned my face back to those on the balcony, sighing. I looked down slightly, and a shadow from my hair concealed my eyes.-

"Jeebus...these people don't know how to party at all..."

Chapter 3 - Marisa Ryunatta - Vampire District

Who knew Bernkastel was so... Awkward? It was obvious she was attempting to be friendly, but was doing it all wrong. She sounded like she was threatening us. Which, would work quite well seeing as she could set us on fire or electrocute us or something.... And then, there was Fang's cautious behavior to take into consideration. Why was he eyeing that moth like---...

Kerin's thoughts came into my head. I was expecting him to forget about the tranceiver. I smiled, coming out from behind Kerin and giving Bern a big hug. 'She's not a people person, so I think we should sit down until she has relaxed! Uuu... Fang needs to relax too. But that moth is still kinda creepy. Have you seen the white crow yet? Over by Shiro!' I looked over in her direction quickly, before smiling up at Bernkastel.

"Mew! Okeeii!" I cried out happily. Although, my thoughts were trailing to the creepy things around us. Moth...Crow... Lizard... What else wasn't I seeing? They were definitely with Bern. I've never seen a white crow before. Or maybe it's a raven? I couldn't tell. The moth was kinda cute... The lizard, with its pea-green skin blended in with the potted plant just outside the greenhouse. What WERE they? Good? Bad? Friendly? Well, one name to find out.

I took in a big breath. "Does Ms. Moth have a name?" I asked innocently. Bern looks down at me with questioning eyes, before answering calmly.

"Alice. Her name is Alice."

Chapter 3- Mammon - Underworld

I cocked my head curiously, as he gave Bern one of his smiles, along with a peace sign. What the heck was he doing? I stared at him for a moment, before giving off a short laugh. Wasn't he a piece of work...

"There is the stereotype that demons from the Underworld or "Hell" are vile, unforgiving, eat your limbs and all that jazz. Do I fit that? You better say no." I smile widely. He was a real cool guy. I hadn't had this much fun with a human since... Never. "You do strike a good point, but~" I pause to poke his shoulder. "Bern told me not to kill anyone besides Fausto. Even if I was aloud to kill you, I wouldn't! Because I think you're kinda cute~!" I can't help but tease him again. I stick my tongue out and give him a quick wink.

I laugh even more, and nearly fall off the ledge. The heck? Punishment? "Well, I wouldn't be killing him, if it wasn't for a good reason, right? Believe it or not, he's very threatening to Bern~!" I grin at him widely. The two of us just love teasing eachother, it seemed. "Punish you? Jeez. You hardly did anything worth that. But if you're that worried about getting punished..." I flick his forehead. "There you go!"

SkyisUmbreon July 30th, 2011 11:01 AM

The shadow that covered my face soon disappeared, and allowed a small smile to form on my lips. The girl had jokes I admitted to myself, almost the same sarcastic nature I posessed. This didn't mean that I would let her win at my game.

"Well, you aren't vile... apparently you forgave me already so thats out. You don't look like you have mouth for eating limbs... but I'm not sure if you listen to jazz or not, so no, you don't fit that, lucky for you. If you did, I might have to call Von Helson on you; I mean I know he hunts vampires... but he might also do demons too.

Anyway, I still don't approve of you killing Fausto. I mean, the guy's a dick, but you can't just kill people just because of that." I sighed again, but a smile soon came tugging at my lips again as she attempted to tease me once more. I looked at her for a moment, tilting my head to one side before looking back to the sky with a slight grin. " You're not too bad yourself Mam, but lets try and keep the poking to the minimum? Or maybe just touching in general, stuff like leaning on me and whatnot... meh." That was a normal rule for me, since I could speak. Then again she was the closest thing I had to a friend here, so it wouldn't matter too much. I flinched slightly as she plucked my forehead, and scowled, pushing her slightly.

"Well that wasn't very nice."

Eeveemaster9 July 30th, 2011 12:19 PM

Chapter 3- Mammon - Underworld

"Von who? Pft. Don't expect me to know him. I think I'd remember if I heard a name like Von before. Some famous vampire hunter? Well, I'll let you in on a little secret..." I lean towards Raike's ear; even covering my mouth like I don't want the stone ledge to hear. "Ironically, there is a used-to-be human vampire hunter here. They're a vampire now!" I grin widely as I pull back.

"Oh jeez. Not like he'll win the Games... He'll just be very troublesome for Bern. Remember? She wasn't kidding when she said there wasn't going to be a 'winner' this year. Or next year...Or the year after that... Shall I continue? I think you get the point." I am pushed slightly by him, in reaction to my flicking. I laugh and nudge him back.

"That wasn't very nice yourself! Don't go asking for punishment if you're gonna whine about it~" Was he my friend? I do believe so. He was quite fun to hang out with. What was that stereotype again? "A friend of mine says you'll live looonnnggg in the games, just to let you know! I hate that stereotype about humans as well... I think they have a hidden potential. Do you know what makes humans different from everything else? Well, besides the fangs, wings...Claws? Do vampires have claws? Anyways. It's that because they are underestimated so much, it's easy for them to win a fight. Heck, Zane was beaten by a human once! But maybe that's because he's soooo weak." I grin. "Don't tell him or he'll suffocate me with his hairballs. Ew."

SkyisUmbreon July 30th, 2011 1:12 PM

Raike groaned, shaking his head slightly before speaking. "First of all, Von Helson was a vampire to begin with. Second, I think I know who you speak of... That Fang kid, or Kerin... or someone else. I regret not paying too much attention to that group before, but I know that one of them used to be human, cause I've seen them around my district before..."

As I am shoved and then mini lectured, I grinned. Were demons ticklish? I decided to test it out by executing a quick light tickle to her side, before pulling back. " Who said I was whining about you flicking me eh? You may have seen it as whining, but others may perceive it differently; didn't think about that did you? Then again, most people would see that as whining, and of course I don't, but then maybe I should, but why- I stopped and looked at her face before snickering. I had done my weird indesicive debate thing again.

"Sorry about that.... Anyway, why should I trust the word of this friend of yours? I'm glad you don't believe that steriotype, because it's pretty annoying. I still doubt that I would be able to touch Natruo or any other god though. I wouldn't be of much use to Bern..." I paused for a moment before speaking again. "How exactly were you treated where you came from?"

Eeveemaster9 July 30th, 2011 1:46 PM

Chapter 3- Mammon - Underworld

"Like I was supposed to know that!" I whined playfully. Jeez. I hardly knew anyone from the Overworld... Was he really expecting me to know some vampire who is also a vampire hunter? Haven't interacted with a vampire in... How many years? Twenty? "Yea, the Fang kid. What's funny is, all four of them are connected to your district, one way or another." I am just beginning to shrug, when he reaches over and does some sort of finger-wiggling to my side. I am beginning to protest, when I feel a jolt go through and I squirm; nearly falling off the ledge. I hold in a laugh, as I place my hand protectively over that spot. What the heck was that? Magic? Did he electrocute me or something? I pouted. "What was THAT for?"

I raise my eyebrows at him when he begins debating with me on the definition of whining. When he pauses, I take the time to gesture as if I'm making a noose, before raising my hand, sticking my tongue out, and closing my eyes. "You're killing me, here." I laugh out, the second I erase the act. It's a nice laugh. Not a mean one. A nice, small laugh. "Well, sorry~! I didn't think you'd appreciate me going into your mind and chilling in there."

"Huh? Why should you trust him? Because he knows literally everything and he's as boring as a brick. I could get him for you if you don't believe me. He's reeeaaaalllyyy boring. Almost as much as a salad!" I pause, giving him a questioning look. He wanted to know how I was treated in the Underworld?... Oh. Broad topic. "The Underworld? Well... I don't know how anyone under level seven is treated... Um. We don't have parents, so we follow guidance from the leader of that level. I'm on the highest level, so I work under Ashura! He's usually quite nice and friendly, but I've seen him WAY scary back in 2400." I shiver. "I'm like... His servant. But his servants are treated mostly like his pals. We don't have many rules to follow, so it's quite fun!"

"Yeah, who's whining now Mammon?" I said, laughing a bit. "Well, that was my first guess, so I'm just going to say that I'm right. I don't see how ALL of them are connected to my district, then again I don't care at the moment." I said this not in a rude manner, but just stating a fact. The knowledge of their pasts wasn't vital to my own survival, so I really didn't need to know.

That was one of the weird things about me, I could sometimes be logical, but mostly illogical. I got a very mischievous grin as she reacted as hoped to the tickling. From the way she looked, it also seemed she had no idea at all what the act of tickling was... interesting. As she made the form of a noose with her hand and then acted as if she were choking, he got the point, and apologized again, joining her in the laughter that followed.

I held my hand out in front of her, in an attempt to keep her from falling; even if she could fly, he didn't think anyone would like the sensation falling gave you. "That, is for breaking the contact rule... and so is this." I said as I executed the action once more, dodging her hand and reaching around her body to the other side. "That would be what we call in my district, "tickling", which is meant to make the receiver laugh."

"Huh? Why should you trust him? Because he knows literally everything and he's as boring as a brick. I could get him for you if you don't believe me. He's reeeaaaalllyyy boring. Almost as much as a salad!" said Mammon, and I tilted my head to one side, closing my eyes and moving on from the topic.

"The Underworld? Well... I don't know how anyone under level seven is treated... Um. We don't have parents, so we follow guidance from the leader of that level. I'm on the highest level, so I work under Ashura!" She said to answer my previous question. My mouth formed into a light frown, as I realized that we were both slightly alike, and also very different at the same time. We both didn't have any parents, but the way we were treated back where were were from, was completely different.

"In my district, I'm kind of an outcast. Those people don't like me, they might even hate me, not like I care..." The shadow once again formed, concealing my eyes from her view.

Chapter 3- Mammon - Underworld

"Can...You...Stop...Doing...That?!" I managed to breathe out. Alright. I hated 'tickling'. Loathed. It made me feel vulnerable. Which, was not an every-day feeling to me. Rarely did I feel vulnerable. Thank the Lord he had his arm out in front of me, or I would have tumbled right off the ledge. His arm was rather sturdy to lean against, too.

Once he stopped tickling me, I huffed; scooting a few inches away to show my disapproval. However, I was quick to move back. Outcast? Say whaaaat? "You? An outcast? But aren't ugly people or nerds supposed to be outcasted? Stereotypically, if course... But you're DEFINITELY not ugly. Nerd? Sure aren't acting like one. I think you're pretty cool, and everyone in your district are just a bunch of wiener-heads." I grinned, wrapping an arm over his shoulder. "I'll still be your friend! Even if you're old and wrinkly! .... I always wanted to steal an old person's teeth..." I dazed off as if dreaming, but snapped back to face him. "Me and Bern aren't really on the same page, so that makes you my first new friend in about....Fifty years? Good Lord I'm old..." I toss my hair and pretend to look for split-ends and grey hair; which, I obviously won't find.

SkyisUmbreon July 30th, 2011 7:58 PM

"Whaaat? I didn't know you disliked it that much." My arm, nor my body moved as he felt her weight push against it. I laughed for a few seconds after she moved, but stopped when she returned.

"Yeah, I'm an outcast I guess, but I kinda like it that way. I like to sometimes think on the bright side. See, as an outcast, nobody really talks to me, or try's to lecture me at all. Also, I can make all the trouble I want, and since I have certain home, those fools never know where to find me. Also, as you can see, or rather feel, you get really strong, well you kinda have too, because you must be able to fend for yourself, and if strength fails, well, I can always burn the little buggers."

Slight surprise showed on my face as I felt her arm wrap around my shoulder and was drawn slightly closer. "I'll still be your friend! Even if you're old and wrinkly!" She said before grinning at me, and then making some kind of remark about stealing an old persons dentures. I allowed a small genuine smile to form on his lips; a friend huh? She had broken the contact rule... again, but I decided to permit it.

"You and Bern not on the same page? That's kinda weird, but I guess appearances can be deceiving, I got proof of that with you and those demons down there." As she went on to look for gray hair and split ends, I glanced down at the training grounds, and felt an idea hatch in my mind. "Do you fight well, Mammon?"

Chapter 3- Mammon - Underworld

"It makes me feel vulnerable..." I admitted quietly, picking at my nails.

"Haha! That's very true, Raike! Well, I can get away with anything as long as Eashura isn't watching. Ashura is extremely forgiving. You know that bible stuff about the Demon Lord Satan? I suppose you could say Eashura was him. But Ashura is the complete opposite! I swear, he's a peace-loving hippy!" I snorted, but quickly looked around to make sure he wasn't going to suddenly...You know, push me off the ledge.

"Well, ya. We don't have much in common. She doesn't like weapons... She's oh-so-serious... You get the point. I'm the only demon servant with a sense of humor, too." I shrug, releasing my arm off of him when he asks if I'm good at fighting. I grin. "Hm.... Not big on offensive hand-to-hand... I'm more into manifestation and void magic. But, I do know my share of defensive combat... What're you thinking, Raike?"

SkyisUmbreon July 30th, 2011 10:27 PM

"Vulnerable, haha, might want to reword that Mammon." I said while snickering to myself. It was a stupid child's joke but I didn't really care too much. Mammon mentioned that Bernkastel and herself were not as close as I had originally thought, but I could see it now. Bern was ALWAYS serious, but at seemed that Mammon was completely different, and as far as I was concerned, truly the only demon servant with a sense of humor.

She also said that her style of fighting wasn't really hand to hand combat, but more of a spell caster. I wondered if she might be able to teach me a few spells that might be useful during the games. Then again, those might be elemental, and the only element I could control, was fire. Just as I thought of the word, a white ball of fire appeared in my hand. Noticing that those below might be able to see, I muttered two words under his breath, from a language almost forgotten in this world.

"Brakka brisingr" And as I said it, the flame reduced in size to that of a pea. Without taking my eyes from the flame, I began to speak. "Might you be able to teach me a few spells Mammon?"

"Shush! I don't like tickling and that's that!" I pouted. My cheeks became lightly brushed in warmth, and I quickly turned my head away. But, I was smiling. I wonder if Raike was vulnerable to tickling... Well, I would look stupid if he wasn't. I decided to keep my hands to myself, and watch the white flame in his hand diminish to almost nothing. Just a speck of its former existance.

"...Wait, you want me to teach you magic?" Alright. That was a first. The thing with contracts, was that the contractor would have full access to all spells I could cast myself. That even included manifestation. I had never needed to teach someone what I knew before... "Sure! Fire magic, right? That'll be kinda noticeable here... Wanna go somewhere fun?" I grinned widely. Yeeessss.... A very fun and interesting place. I held out a finger, as a butterfly manifested. A butterfly of red flames. Not fire, but pure energy. I loved making things like this. The energy that makes magic, is normally not seen. However, since I manipulation manifestation... I can make the unseen, seen. Manifest objects without a break in my powers. Overworld creatures could use rock or melted metal to mold their objects, but it took a bit of effort, time, and not to mention, a stone shaped like a gun wouldn't actually be able to do it's purpose. True manifestation was a hard technique that required years of practice. Me? I was created with the ability. Lucky me. "Lets get outta here!"

SkyisUmbreon July 31st, 2011 1:42 PM

-I stood up, dusting off the back of my jacket with one hand and stretching slightly. The tiny flame in my hand seemed to melt into it, and dissappeared under the skin. I sent her a questioning look, slightly confused. I didn't think she would have allowed it that easily, but what the hell, if it gave me a better chance of surviving, I was okay with it. Walking over to her, I stretched once more before lowering my eyelids lazily and placing my usual frown back on my face.-

"Okay... well where is this... place of yours? Also, thanks for agreeing to teach me..." As I saw the butterfly, I tilted my head to one side. Usually, when I was around my element, I had an annoying habit of absorbing it without thinking about it at all. Fire was a source of food or energy for me, seeing as my element was fire, so absorbing it was like eating breakfast, lunch, or dinner, depending on its size.

I wasn't absorbing this fire, so I guessed it wasn't even fire to begin with. He'd find out later on.

Chapter 3- Mammon - Underworld

I watched as the human boy got to his feet. Only now did I realize his height, as well as the length of his jacket. Let's hope that thing wasn't flamable. That, would be too funny. I hopped up to my own two feet, with my shoulders rolling. The butterfly was still perched calmly on my finger. I was a little shorter than Raike, but that was to be expected. The male demon servants were the abnormally tall ones. Seven feet...

I allowed the butterfly to leave its perch. "No prob! I think it'll be fun! Have you ever teleported before? Or are all those machines in the Gods District?" I shrugged, and watched the butterfly circle Raike, before landing on his bare neck. It wouldn't hurt. Just a tingling sensation. Still watching, the butterfly sank in and took the form of a tattoo. Without warning, I grabbed his hand. "It wouldn't be safe if you didn't have that tattoo. Let's go~" Using my other hand, I snapped my fingers. A few seconds later, everything we saw around us, seemed to flip like panels. It was like a washed-out effect that ran from the floor, right to the sky. Soon, we were standing in nothingness. A black air with no light or color. Still holding his hand, I knelt down in the space, and grinned. "Hey, watch this." I took my left hand, and ran it over the bottom of my shoes; without raising my feet from where they stood. It was pretty cool. I looked around for a moment, my eyes glowing a dark red. "ASHURA. Stop hiding the freaking door!" I shouted. Immediately, a red demonic symbol etched itself infront of us as if someone was drawing it before us. Once it was finished, different parents began to spin. Indifferent, I pushed the space, and the symbol broke away in two; opening a double-door.

We were now standing in what appeared to be a weaponry room. A huge, empty space of red floor while on the walls... Hung an amazing collection of swords, knives, and other hand weapons. *Continues*

There were not any guns, however. Nothing automatic. Blades and maces and even a flail. I grinned, slipping my hand out of his. I sat down on the raven-black bed off in the corner. If he thought this was my room, he guessed correctly. Stretching out, my dress became engulfed in a black smoke. When the smoke disappeared, my outfit had changed. Basic black jeans and a loose, punk-style shirt that fell at my thighs. A long line of fabric was missing from my right shoulder, as well as the left side of my stomach. I began redoing my ponytail. "Show me what'cha know!"

"Well, I did attempt to fix one before... but that didn't turn out too well...why?" I answered her as the butterfly morphed into a tatoo on my neck. It was my first real one... well I wasn't really sure what it was. I was about to ask more about it when she took hold of my hand, saying that it wouldn't be safe if I didn't have it, so I decided to let it be. I stared at our joined hands for a second, then looked back at her with a questioning expression, but I soon turned my attention to the floor, which seemed to be dissappearing from under me.

It looked like the water at the beach when it was abating, leaving the golden sand in its place. After this affect dissappeared, I saw that we were in a blank space, no color, or any type of detail or design. As I watched her pass her hands under the bottom of her shoes, I smiled lightly; this was getting kinda weird. I watched her seeming to be looking for something, and then she yelled, "ASHURA! STOP HIDING THE FREAKIN DOOR!" and as she said it, some kind of red symbol seemed to be carving itsef from the blankness. When it was done, she walked forward and pushed the symbol, splitting it and half and forming double doors, which opened up to some kind of huge armory, with tons of weapons lining the walls. A jet black bed was positioned off in the corner, and as she sat down on it and began to stretch, she was covered in a black smoke. When it cleared, she was wearing more modern casual cloths, which I grinned at.-

"That's better, haha." She then requested that I "show what I know" so I shrugged, deciding to start off with the basics. Pointing my pointer finger as the ceiling, a tiny white flame appeared, hovering over the tip. In a quick flicking motion, the flame flew from my hand, growing in size until it was like that of a television, heading towards the wall. Now I applied his own methods, holding my palm toward the wall. For a moment, only a barely visible circle of flames appeared, but then it surged forth, growing to the size of a telephone post, taking the color of silver, and also heading toward the wall. I hoped she had the walls reinforced... a couple thousand times.

"Shush, not like I can help you train with a dress! Besides, I believe you didn't want me to 'ruin' it." I grinned, and watching his performance. Tapping into his thoughts, I could only laugh when he questioned the strength of these walls. He was about to realize the weird truth. I watched the flaming circle and larger flame, 'hit' the wall. But it didn't seem like the wall and the fire made contact. Instead, the flames just sorta... Poofed! Disappeared. I jumped off the bed and stretched out my limbs. "Alright... Looks like I won't be very bored with this. Ever tried to make a whip out of fire? I love whipping the other servants..." I grinned widely.

I did each step in the movement so Raike could follow along. Normally, I would just need to manifest the whip, but he hadn't had more than enough years of learning. With both my knuckles pressed on their sides, (Like if you were gripping a driving wheel!) I began to speak out my simple instructions. "Oxygen is a flames food. So, you need to make sure it has that food, while also being protected from breaking. Whips may sound basic, but they require focus. You better be focusing!" I laughed. "Energy is within everything, which makes magic reality. It would take a red color for you, but it isn't visible in the Overworld. Imagine your right fist, pulling this energy out as a sort of tube." I did exactly as I instructed. A shimmering red tube of light connected from my left fist, and extended as far as I could reach to my right. To finish, I opened my right palm and cupped the opened end. When I removed it, it was like I was holding a sword made of that red light. Proudly, I smiled. Now you just allow the flames from your body to come in through the handle...." Suddenly, the light sword was filled with an aggressive fire. However, it stayed within the tube's area. "There. It may take a few tries, but here's your co-...Hot flame sword!"

Kerin's eyes darted around as Marisa began to point out the strange animals. Yeah. The moth was weird all right. And... the white crow? Raven maybe? Maybe a Magpie or something. Well, whatever. Kerin could easily kill any animal with his bare hands. Unless these were super demon scary animals, which then Kerin had no idea at all.

"Does Ms. Moth have a name?"

"Alice. Her name is Alice."

Kerin sat down at the table and began to munch on the snacks he had put down. He heard the song change again, bobbing his head to it as it got into the beat. Yeah, these were his kinds of songs. He couldn't really imagine what kind of music Marisa was into, probably not drum and bass. Okay, so, party. Maybe casual conversation might help. He swallowed what he was eating and clicked his tongue a little, then coughed. He could feel the blood capsule slowly wearing off. He felt fine, but it would be 2 or 3 hours before he would start having to go back to kitchens and demand raw steak or something. Still, these chocolates were good.

"So, Bern," Kerin started. It still felt funny to say. "Um. Tell us about yourself! And no lies, right?" Kerin laughed a little. He kind of regretted asking as soon as he did. She probably had some elongated story that would be some kind of dark horror movie. He blinked then grabbed another handful of food.

Chapter 3 - Amelia Kunjui - Angel District

"H-hello," I squeaked. Where were Pewita and Kaito when I needed them? I should have stayed in my room... Now I had to sit down and eat supper with Shizuka! I mean, I had nothing against him because... Well, he was my ally, right? Then again, I wasn't much help. I was just a frail girl, while he was... Mysterious, silent, strong... I was mostly with him, because I had no choice. Had I even seen him smile? Probably not. He was kinda scary for an angel... It was nervous-making enough already, and then I had to go and kiss his cheek! He was an ally who could kick my butt with his wings tied behind his back! Why the heck did I kiss him?! Was he going to think that I was trying to seduce him? Was he going to call off the alliance once he got the information he wanted? I was scared.

I took slow, delibrate steps forward in an effort to appear unfazed. Two words; not working. I was beginning to miss my dresses. Atleast they would cover up the knocking of my knees! He could totally tell that I was nervous just by a glance! To recover, I wandered around. Looking at the artworks and bouquet designs, I erased my unease long enough to sit in the seat opposite from him. What was going through his head? Was he laughing at how pathetic I was? Or ticked off that I was playing dumb about what happened? What if he was mad? I ceased with the fiddling of my utensils the second I realized I was shaking them like maracas, He gave me a look which asked; "What's wrong with you?" A good or bad question? I couldn't tell. Suddenly I got a ping. A thought which contradicted the rest. Was he worried about me? I inhaled deeply, and spoke my mind.

"I-i'm nervous because I think I made you mad!"

-I looked slightly dissapointed when my flames aimed toward the wall just dispersed. I kinda wanted to see something explode, so yeah, I was kinda pissed. Pouting, I watched her demonstration, her hands positioned like she was driving an SUV. Then she extended her right hand as far as she could reach, as if she was pulling something out of a tube or cylinder.

As she extended it, a red light seemed to run from her left hand to her right. When she opened her right hand and held the open end, she paused, and a moment later the red sword burst into flames, making it look like she was holding a flame sword. Now, it was my turn, I positioned my own hands like I was driving. As I extended my left hand, I concluded that my own would be longer, since I had a longer reach. The red beam materialized like her own, but stopped halfway, of course I didn't notice since I was looking at her. When I let the flame flow from my own body, it ran smoothly until it reached the end, and began flaming out in all directions.

This caught my attention, and I quickly severed the flow of flames.-

"Ah... I'm gonna try that again... that never happened." Closing my eyes this time, I duplicated the process again, this time the red beam reaching my other hand. This time however, I decided to add my own touch to it, causing the flames to wash over my right fist, and enlarge, creating a medium sized sphere. Soon objects resembling spikes began to appear along the surface of the spear. Grinning, I held it up for her to see. Of course it was much heavier then it looked, but that wasn't much of a problem for me.-

"Well, it's not like yours... but it's still affective!" I said while grinning.

I watched, sword at my side, as he tried. I immediately noticed that the light wasn't fully connected. "R-" Too late. I held in laughter when the flames shot out the open end. He was quick to start over from scratch. This time, he made sure that the light extended out. However, he didn't do the process the same way as me. He added a sphere at the end with what appeared to be spikes. I blinked, and looked around at my own weapons. What kind of weapon was that called again. My eyes scanned over a until they found the flail. I suppose it was something like that...

I grinned back at him. "Alrighty. A whip... Take your free hand, and grip it back beside your other like on the first step. Then just crush the energy there." I demonstrated this, and the millisecond I crushed the energy in my hand, the sword's 'blade' went limp and nearly touched the floor. "There. A whip." I grinned evily, and snapped the fire whip up. The end was about an inch from his eyes. "Juuuust to let you know, any injuries inflicted here heal automatically~" I snickered, holding the whip at my hip. "Anything in particular you'd like to learn?~"

Chapter 3 - Bernkastel Vermillia - Demon District

"You want... Me to talk about myself?" Well, wasn't that I direct way of getting information... But I complied. They would have to answer to me as well, in the end. Calmly, I walked over and sat myself down. Marisa squealed happily, running over and climbing onto Kerin's lap. Fang also decided to sit at a chair, but he was cautious about the cat underneath the table. That cat wasn't going to hurt him... Not anyone. With a deep breath, I talked about myself.

"I'm fortunate to have the life I do... People always expect me to be an outcast... No family... Maybe not even a home... But that's all because of how willing I am to participate in these games... People say that I'm only participating so I can have more fame and fortune... Not true. Even before I was of age to participate, I lived in a house much bigger than many. My father is a dark arts magician. My mother is a priestess..." I reach over and take a small piece of chocolate between my fingers. "I went to school like every other person my age, but I was kicked out when I was eleven." Fang furrows his eyebrows at me curiously.

"Why?"

Well, they were listening... That was a good sign. "Two reasons. The first was that my IQ was much too high to be attending school... The second reason was that I pretended to put a curse on this bully in my class... It was just for fun, you know..." My eyes glaze over as I remember what happened. "He died." I stick the piece of chocolate on my tongue. There is a long period of silence, and I continue my story. "My mom thought I was overtaken by the Demon Lord. She thought it was a curse. My father researched. He had me perform tests and stuff..." My eyes clear up and the corner of my mouth arches. "When he had me go into a demon crusification circle, Vergil popped out of my body." I take my closed hands, and open my fingers. "Pop."

"Vergil? Whose Vergil?" It's Marisa this time.

I smile lightly and look over in Shiro's direction for a moment. The white raven opens its wings immediately, and takes flight over to the table. He lands on my shoulder, but I don't pay it notice as I answer. "Vergil is a Demon Servant of the Demon Lord. So, my mom was close." The moth on my hat is now fluttering over by Marisa, which makes her giggle. "But I only saw him that day. I didn't see him again until after the second games. Him, Mammon, and the others." I pause for a moment, looking at the raven. "Oh. Mammon isn't dead, by the way."

Skymin August 1st, 2011 6:05 PM

Kerin rested his head against his hand and raised his eyebrows at every single point Bernkastel made. Oh boy. Kerin suspected he had the most boring life out of everyone; Fang had a sister that did stuff in the Population Games (plus he was a vampire), Marisa had crazy parents and grew up in an orphanage, Shiro probably had some psychopathic background including drugs, killing her parents and doing... other stuff, whereas Kerin was a... a mistake. A walking mistake. He blinked a few times, pulling himself off his train of thought and continued to listen. When Bernkastel was finished, he really didn't have much to say.

"W-wow," he stuttered. It was all he could really muster. Wait, no, he had another sentence. "That's um... that's quite a story." He was right then. Elongated, horror-movie like, crazy, etc. His eyes dart around a little as the animals shift their position. Okay, this was kind of freaking him out. Were they planning an attack or something. He stifled a cough and sat up a little, trying to keep at least some of the animals he could see in his vision. Though... Kerin really didn't have anything else to say. He just hoped to god she wouldn't ask him.

Chapter 3 - Bernkastel Vermillia - Demon District

"..." I looked at the three vampires with a blank expression. Wow, was probably because Kerin had been expecting something a little more horrifying. Life-changing. The raven on my shoulder was eyeing Kerin as well. The cat under my chair... The moth had settled on Marisa's hand. The lizard was keeping its distance, but by the way Kerin was looking around at them, he was a little nervous at their presense. When the raven flew off my shoulder into the nearby chair, I spoke up.

"They're not going to do anything unless I give the order. They're like Mammon... Demons from the Underworld." I looked down at the raven. "Don't you think you'll be less bored if you were humanoid, Vergil?" The raven eyed me suspiciously, before a white smoke engulfed it. Just as quickly did it appear, did the smoke clear away.

Now sitting in the seat, was not the raven, but a person. A boy looking to be... Eighteen? He wore something that resembled a school uniform. Black and white. A staff was crossed over his lap along with a silver book without a title. This demon's eyes fastened to the table. Eyes the color of blood, were behind these white, rectangular-framed glasses. His face held boredom. No, he was emotion-missing. Like nothing could surprise him.

"Hello... My name is Vergil... I manipulate wisdom." His voice was quiet, but monotone. I smiled lightly at him, before turning to Kerin. "He's the reason why I was so knowledgeable. He knows everything." Vergil nodded slightly in response. When Marisa opened her mouth to speak, he stopped her. "Before Marisa asks... The egg came first, not the chicken."

Skymin August 2nd, 2011 12:52 AM

"I know," Kerin nodded. At least he thought he knew. "It's just... there are so many of them around." Bernkastel then said something about Ver... Vergil? That was the demon she had mentioned before! So it was still apart of her or something like that? The crow blew up into a puff of smoke then rematerialised as a boy. A boy probably the same age as Kerin. Funny, he was wearing school uniform kind of deal (something Kerin would have used to wear on the odd occasion himself). He was practically grayscale aside from his eyes; they were a blood red, like Bernkastel's had been briefly on the helicopter. He put two and two together and blinked. Was it coincidence?

"Hello... Vergil," he said it slowly, making sure he said it properly, like the first time he had said Bernkastel. He didn't look all powerful, but thanks to those comic books that Kerin used to read, the quiet and childish ones were always the most sinister, right? Well, maybe. He gave Vergil a small smile. Well at least they were changing the subject around. He didn't feel indanger though, Kerin felt remotely safe. Bern was their guest, and now Vergil was too. Might as well show some hospitality or something. "Uh, do you eat? Do you want some of these?" Kerin grabbed another handful of whatever was in front of him.

Chapter 3 - Bernkastel Vermillia - Demon District

Vergil blinked blankly at the food set out on the table. I myself, was trying not to eat too many of the chocolates. "Yes, I eat... Thank you." He nodded slightly, reached out, and took a few chips. Silently, he nibbled on them, swallowed, and opened up his book. "Bernkastel wants the vampires as allies this year. She wouldn't hurt a hair on you." I twitched at Vergil's words, and kicked him from underneath the table. "Ow. She kicked me..." This made me even more embarrassed, so I shoved my witch hat to hide my face. Vergil continued. "Oh. We didn't make her eyes turn red. That's all her."

Once I had calmed, I pulled my hat back up. "Yes. It... Runs in the family...Oh, and if we're not lying... I hate you, Vergil." I gave him a blank look, and he returned it right back.

"No, you don't... You love me. A lot." He said that straightfaced! Ugh Vergil... I slowly lowered my forehead to rest on the table. Vergil was much too talkactive today. "... Anything else you want to ask?" I managed to say.

Fang grinned, scooped up a handful of chips, and placed them on the spot before him. "Are your other demon wh-" "Servants," Vergil corrected. "Demon Servants this fun?" I looked up. "Maybe Alice. Mammon... Lucifier is boring, and Zane is stupid." I heard the cat hiss under my chair, and the lizard was probably hoping that looks could kill. I cracked a smile, but it was wiped when Vergil pinched my hand. Right... No smiling.

"Um, why?" Kerin blinked. He was useless. There was nothing he could offer at the moment, his priority was Marisa. And even if she wasn't here, he couldn't do anything. Except punch someone so hard they turn inside out. But couldn't any of her summons do that anyways? This boy was probably super strong and then there was Mammon. And the snake? God knows what else she had hiding up her sleeve. God probably didn't anyway. As Vergil said some funny things and Bernkastel did some funny things, Kerin just blinked back at them. And the comment about the red eyes... okay, that was freaky. Kerin was just thinking that. Surely a god of knowledge or whatever he said he was... yeah, he probably could read his thoughts. Oh great. Nothing was secret now. Not even that. Kerin coughed again, moving his though direction around.

"I got nothing," Kerin made a face. And then, Bernkastel smiled at her familiars. It was... a little warming. Much better than her slate face before. Then it was gone. Oh.

Chapter 3 - Bernkastel Vermillia - Demon District

I heard a few chuckles escape from Vergil's throat, and I immediately did a doubletake. Vergil? Laughing? Oh. He must've heard something funny in someones thoughts. Damn demon...

I blinked, looking at Kerin as he asked why my eyes changed color. "Oh... Complicated... My father is a demon, but my mother is an angel. That's why my wings are different and I have white flecks in my eyes. Then, my great grandfather was a vampire, so... And before you ask, I don't have fangs. Or a lust for blood. My eyes change color under certain conditions." I answered quietly, swiping another small chocolate. "Anyways... What about you three? Anything I should know about in terms to your fighting ability? You already know about me... And I don't have much interest in your past."

Fang was the first to respond; leaning back in his chair, chuckling nervously. "Uh, well... I don't know magic, I suck at physical combat, and I can't wield a sword to save my life. Firearms, dartguns, and other long range stuff is my strength." I rub my temples. Firearms were impossible to get in the arena. Long range weapons were not popular, either. If he got a bow and arrow, maybe he'd be worth something in terms of fighting- "But! I can set traps. I can make cages and snares out of anything." Alright, nevermind. That was kinda useful.

Skymin August 2nd, 2011 4:08 AM

Kerin screwed up his face. Firearms? He hadn't touched one ever. Dartgun? What the hell did that even look like? Traps? Well, he caught a fish once. Maybe. He felt eyes move towards him and Marisa. Oh god, what the hell could he say? Lying wasn't going to get him anywhere. He scratched his face. He remembered someone talking about how districts pick out the weakest in their masses? Yup, that was him. Marisa was rated top tier, she surely had something she wasn't mentioning. Okay, well, he might as well say something before the crickets started.

"Well, uh, I used to beat up the bullies in my old school and a ," As much as he tried to make it sound impressive, it really wasn't. Well, whatever, just say it you stupid. "Well, I was told that I was meant to do some kind of magic but, well, yeah, and I've never held a gun or a sword in my life." Kerin looked down at his hands and at the scars on his knuckles. They didn't have that "thumbprint" skin pattern on them anymore; he had scraped the skin off one too many times. They were now pretty much permanent scars. Though he hadn't punched anyone since like... last month.

Chapter 3 - Bernkastel Vermillia - Demon District

There was a long pause after Kerin explained what he could... Um. Sorta do. He didn't seem too keen on his physical combat ability. "Physical combat, huh... I suppose I'll have to train you three, right?" I smile warmly at the vampires, and Marisa raised her hand excitingly. Alright. She made it to second place on the survey... Was she going to tell us the reason. I nodded at her, and she was practically bouncing in her seat.

"Oh! Oh! I dun know much magic or hand fighting, but! Uuu! I can see the future!" She beamed happily.

It took a few seconds for her words to settle in, and I lowered my eyebrows in confusion. What? The future? Yeah right. "Um. Marisa?" Marisa pouted on cue, crossed her arms, and lowered her chin. "It's true! It's true! Hey hey! Kerin-sama, remember at that building when I said that the games were going to be different? Or when I was telling Amelia to get out of the way even before Natruo blinked an eye? Hau au..."

Skymin August 2nd, 2011 5:04 AM

"Well, I'm strong!" Kerin added in his defence. Bernkastel didn't sound extremely impressed with his 15 seconds to say what he could do, but who could blame her. Kerin didn't lie though. He had broken several bones in the human district. Several dozen probably. Bah, whatever.

"Oh! Oh! I dun know much magic or hand fighting, but! Uuu! I can see the future!" Marisa piped up. Kerin slowly moved his eyes down to the bouncing girl in his lap. Wait, what? "It's true! It's true! Hey hey! Kerin-sama, remember at that building when I said that the games were going to be different? Or when I was telling Amelia to get out of the way even before Natruo blinked an eye? Hau au..."

"Yeah..." He said slowly. Well, he kind of remembered. But, wait, he thought that was just her saying something. He blinked a few times. Well, it surprised him that he didn't seem too surprised. Probably because too much had happened today in too less of time. "Wait, does that mean you can see what's going to happen? How far can you see?" He furrowed his brow. "Can you see everything? Even... who, uh..." he didn't bother finishing the sentence. Asking a small girl about death was just a little too much.

I thought to myself for a moment, allowing the flaming flail to dissipate, before going over the participants of the game. "Ryuu" I thought, frowning slightly. The guy wasn't too smart, but even with that, his strength would be very hard to overcome. I was, and still am the strongest of my district, yet my strength is not yet enough to overpower Ryuu. I was pretty fast though, and very skilled with free running, which would include scaling walls, climbing trees etc.

" I don't know... but I need to get stronger... what I'm thinking about right now is Ryuu's strength. That is something I won't be able to deal with alone... unless you have some method that could make me stronger... or even faster. If not, then can you teach me to simply enhance my own features by creating... oh, I don't know, flaming claws or blazing wings... something like that."

I paused a bit before speaking again, clearing my throat. " I also foresee that I'm going to have to ask for an alliance with Bern if I'm going to survive this thing. No matter how strong I get... there is no question in my mind, that I'm going to need her help... as well as yours." I spoke with a surprisingly serious tone, crossing my arms and closing my eyes. They say a thing called an Aura can portray peoples true feeling and intentions. Mine, if bl was visible in the underworld, was probably and uncertain yellow.

Rain. That was the first thing that greeted Ryuu as he came out of the helicopter as it landed. But Ryuu didn't mind the rain. It was like a cleansing for him. He enjoyed it as it drizzled all over his body, causing him to be soaked quickly. He brushed passed those with an umbrella as if he weren't there. He didn't need one. He didn't care. He was in his own little trance now, his bloodlust often making him oblivious to other things around him, only the battlefield was pictured in his mind. It was a rather unusual trait, but also a very useful one. By shutting off the rest of the world, he could focus on the things that really matter.

Well, matter to him. As such, the rest of the journey he made from the inside of the plain building to his room was as if it never happened. At least, Ryuu couldn't remember how he got there. All he could remember is how he stared down a few faces, but the looks he gave were blank. Full of emotion from looking at them, but in reality, blank.

Ryuu was in his room. He observed it, again, blankly. To him, it looked like shadows of black and white. All he could truly see was what was important. But he knew he shouldn't get agitated like this so far away from the actual fight. He calmed himself, and finally looked around his room with his plain normal eyes.

"Could use a demon's touch." He said to himself, outloud. Immediately, he began grabbing object and hurling them across the room, breaking them. He hated it when things seemed to organized. He would rather jump into chaos than planning. In the midst of it all, things just appeared much more clearer to him. That's the way he always was. He felt that when things were calm, something was wrong, or out of place. That's why he knew only in fights, only on the battlefield is where, for Ryuu, things are truly calm.

And this "rearrangement" of his room? Think of it as the "calm" before the storm. Natruo was the storm. A very big storm.

Big he may be, but Ryuu was fast, and when he gets his adrenaline truly pumping, he can get an even higher sense of things. That's what Ryuu would use to his advantage.

Besides, there was something terribly wrong with the others in this Reaping, in Ryuu's opinion. Some of them seem to forget exactly what they were doing here. Ryuu want to remind him. But that would have to come after his fight with Natruo.

Ryuu began tapping his foot impatiently. He could feel his blood boiling. He remembered something, and took out the capsule Marisa had given him. He examined it, but it made things worse, as he knew not what to do with it.

Damn it. He thought to himself, getting impatient. His bloodlust was getting the better of him. He wanted to fight, now. He decided to wait at the designated area for Natruo. Ryuu swiftly got up and proceeded towards the door. He was in a certain mode he often referred to as his "Rage" Mode. It was something he developed earlier, when too much adrenaline had rush up to his brain. Many of normal thoughts were abandoned or temporarily discarded, and in its place were thoughts only of fighting, and strategies that come with fighting, including having extra time in his head and actions to think of possible attack patterns, or moves he could perform. So it came to no surprise, whilst in this form, what happened next.

Ryuu approached the door, and without stopping to open it, rammed his body right through it, crashing it to the ground. In this "Rage" Mode, it seemed, Ryuu had forgotten how to open a door.

Chapter 3 - Bernkastel Vermillia - Demon District

The little girl in Kerin's lap was happy that she was getting attention. No kidding. See the future? I looked at Vergil for confirmation, and he gave a single nod. Well... That was... Um.

"Au! It depends. Hey hey! Fausto's gonna die tonight and a pretty lady is taking his place! I saw Mammon kill him!" She smiled brightly. "If he's dead tomorrow, you gotta believe me!" I facepalmed. She knew about that?! Great. I sighed loudly inside my palm. "Can you see the beginning of the games?" I asked. She blinked at me for a moment, and within ten seconds, her face was as pale as a polar bear. "Y-yeah..." She stuttered, quickly grabbing Kerin's hand tightly.
