I noticed the vending machines all around the region and I personally think it's a good idea. They're there too add a bit more to the cities in Unova, adding the the urban atmosphere of the region. Although I don't use them (I prefer to heat at Pokémon Centres and rest houses as often as I can, they're free!), I certainly don't agree with the amount of them put in the game.
I think they were very helpful, particularly towards the latter part of the game, like around Opelucid, etc. Cheaper than Hyper Potions, and more readily available. :)
I don't mind them. Mostly ran straight by them and didn't pay them much attention until I read this thread. lol
Well, the increased amount of vending machines is a nice addition to the whole world, and in the earlier routes, also serves as a place to get supplies for use in battles. They are cheaper, they are more convenient, and, best of all, is everywhere.
I don't mind the huge number of vending machines in Unova, though I never used them. Instead of wasting my money on Full Restores and Hyper Potions early on, I would've gone for Lemonade, which is cheaper.
I've noticed quite a few here and there, i always see them in towns where i can easily heal my pokémon or i find potions etc really easily so never had the need to use the vending machines :)
The amount of vending machines doesn't concern me at all as my Pokemon are generally over levelled and as such I don't need them. If only the contents of the vending machines were different. There should be machines containing different combinations of: Fresh Water, Soda Pop Lemonade, Moo Moo Milk, various berries, Lava Cookie, Rare Candy (but for a super high price and limited amounts, etc.
They do add some realism to the more urban-themed Unova, but I ignore them as they only have a basic range of healing items (No Full Restore :(.)
they come in handy in the beginning of the game but after that 80 hp worth of healing doesn't do much.
I honestly don't even remember seeing them around. .__. I guess that says a lot about how much I used them, huh? XD
After actually starting to see them around, I don't really mind the numbers. They're just... there to me, just like those obnoxiously large boulders that actually look like you need Strength to move them. :) |
ugh yes. Why is there a vending machine down the bottom of Twist Mountain? It makes no sense! Yeah, I'm gonna want a nice cold drink in the middle of this frozen wasteland, sure sure.
I don't really mind there being so much. I don't really use the vending machines, but they can be very convenient. It also adds to the urban feeling in the region. I wouldn't mind them adding other stuff, like maybe even pokeballs, in the vending machines.
You are missing an option.
How about :yea they are great and just the right amount of in the right parts of the region ! . |
I think it makes things more realistic. It really shows how Japanese the Japanese makers are. In Japan, vending machines. EVERYWHERE. Even ones for cameras, batteries and t-shirts at times.
Getting back on topic, I like the amount there is. It just meant that I could buy nice healers for a good price almost wherever I went. The concept of having to fly to a particular town just to see a vending machine became somewhat annoying. Plus I like to try and score a double drop every time I see a vending machine. They should add vending machines for RAGE CANDY BARS. Or Magikarps, just to put that salesman out of his job. |
Although I don't usually use them, I think there is a good amount of vending machines. They come in handy. And I think it's realistic since the game is based on America and there are vending machines everywhere here.
I haven't even noticed those vending machines until I beat the game xD
Don't care, it's never been something I thought was an issue.
They're there. That's my thought on them. It's nice to know that if in a tight spot, one can buy a few good healing items for a good price. For me, the vending machines were just decorations that I ignored because I didn't have much need for them.
I honestly didn't notice that there were a lot of them ._.
I've been finding them pretty convenient. It's much cheaper than buying potions, and when they're frequently seen it's a nice reminder to stock up - or if I have a Pokémon that needs some HP restored and I don't have enough items to go around, I can just pop a drink from a machine and be on my way.
I didn't even notice until you brought it up. There is an excessively large amount of vending machines compared to the older games. I don't mind, but I do agree with the fact that there should be a wide variety of items you can pick from, rather than the little selection that we've always had. That's why I consider them almost useless. It is easy to just buy from a mart or heal by going to a center.
There are quite a few, but it doesn't bug me. I don't ever use them, but I assume someone does and they can become helpful on routes if you are in need of HP but don't want to fly or travel back to a city and have to attack the route again.
I "hate" thoose vendingmachines because they are much cheaper as normal potions, so i always bought my "potions" on the vendingmachines. Took me some time to buy 99 of each drink because you have to buy them one by one (well i never used all of them, but i couldn't just pay 700$ for a super potion while the vendingmachine sells better items for even less $).
Well... maybe they should insert 10-bottle-packages Q_Q PS: The vendingmachines (e.g. the ones which are located on some routes) remind me to digimon... there are beautiful beaches where suddenly a vendingmachine appeared... xD'' |
I honestly think it's a bit overboard. At places like Castelia City and the mall it's OK, but seriously, a vending machine in the middle of the desert?
I pretty much just ignore them. They kinda add to the feel, especially the ones in Castelia and right outside the mall on Route 9...but other than that, I don't even notice.
