30 Days of Pokemon Challenge
Welcome to the PC 30 days of Pokemon challenge! Yes, this is essentially the same as Mr Cat Dog's song challenge and Captain Fabio's video game challenge. Thanks to them for the idea and thanks to Miss Doronjo for letting me post this here! :)In this challenge, it's essentially like the other two, only the questions are Pokemon related. Now, some are game or anime specific, but for the most part, you can answer these for any part of the franchise (games, anime, manga, TCG, or just a Pokemon in general). Get creative with responses! Here is a list of questions: Day 01 - Your first Pokemon game Day 02 - Your favourite Pokemon Day 03 - A Pokemon that is underrated Day 04 - Your favorite item Day 05 - Character you feel you are most like (or wish you were) Day 06 - Most annoying character Day 07 - Favourite couple Day 08 - Best soundtrack Day 09 - Saddest scene Day 10 - Best game innovation Day 11 - Favorite part of the franchise (games, manga, anime, etc.) Day 12 - An anime episode everyone should see Day 13 - A Pokemon you've used more than five times Day 14 - Current (or most recent) Pokemon wallpaper Day 15 - Post your current team from a game of your choice Day 16 - Favourite cut scene Day 17 - Favourite antagonist Day 18 - Favourite protagonist Day 19 - Picture of a Pokemon town/city you wish you lived in Day 20 - Favourite region Day 21 - Game/Arc with the best story Day 22 - A movie which disappointed you Day 23 - Most interesting Pokemon sprite, in your opinion Day 24 - Favourite classic game/episode Day 25 - A Pokemon you plan on using Day 26 - Best voice acting Day 27 - Best battle you've had (in-game or Wi-Fi) Day 28 - Favourite gym leader Day 29 - A Pokemon you thought you wouldn't like, but ended up loving Day 30 - Your favourite Pokemon game of all time Depending on what day of the challenge it is, you will answer that day's question. Here's the format for doing so: - The Day it is (Day 01 and so on, NOT THE DATE PLEASE): the question from that day - Why you picked whatever the question asks - Optional: A video or picture from relating to that question, but please, place this in spoilers. Quote:
Latecomers should post with whatever the CURRENT DAY asks of them, but they can post earlier ones as well, if they want to catch up to everyone else. If you have any concerns, check this post as I'll be crossing the days off as we do them. If it has been crossed off, don't start with it. (Yeah, I couldn't word it better than Mr Cat Dog either...lol) It's apparently really hard to post on the correct day. PLEASE don't get ahead. It's really not hard to wait a day guys, REALLY. It's not. I've been doing good keeping up with posting right at midnight so that everyone knows what day it is. When does it start? I've picked a weird time to post this thread, and I'm HORRIBLE with time zones. :( The first day will probably last the longest because I didn't pick a great time to make this. But the cutoff times will be midnight central time (-6), excluding day 1. Day 1 will end at midnight April 28th. Blame me for the weird timing on this, sorry! NOTE: Guys, remember you have to wait on midnight in Central time before you can post the next day. Some of you guys really need to read the rules to this. :[ I'm sure Miss Doronjo is tired of deleting posts. If you have any questions, feel free to VM me, Sydian, or Miss Doronjo about it and we'll be happy to help. :) If you enjoy this challenge, check out the video game challenge hosted by Captain Fabio and/or the song challenge hosted by Mr Cat Dog. |
Day 01 - Your first Pokemon game
Silver Version. Oh I remember it fondly. My birthday. I was woken up from the couch (Yes, back in third grade I had to sleep on a couch) It was my first birthday in Idaho. My mom had bought me the game... and my grandma had mailed THIS from California... Spoiler:
I was freaking ecstatic. I actually still have the GBC, though the game has long since vanished. (Which sucks. I had conquered the thing with everything level 100) I got red a couple years later from my now brother-in-law. Don't have that either, but I have blue version now.... (Even though I don't think it saves anymore) I play it for the nostalgia. :3 |
Day 01 - Your first Pokemon game
POKEMON YELLOW~! ^^ Spoiler:
I used to think it was hard as hell. D= Well probably because my training sucked, but! Yeah... Its still a really fun game. ^^ |
Day 1: Your First Pokemon Game
Pokemon Yellow - I think it was my 6th or 7th birthday. I honestly can't remember. :( But I played my cousin's Yellow that she got for her birthday a few months before and my me maw took notice and got me my own when my birthday rolled around the corner in August. I wasn't good at the game, and never got past Brock and then lost it along with my other Game Boy games, and the Game Boy itself. But it was my first game, so yeah. lol I've gotten a lot better ever since of course. :) Oh. And I was pissed that I got stuck with a damn Pikachu and got jipped out of having an Eevee, who at the time was my favorite. And Pikachu is STILL my least favorite. Spoiler:
|
Day 01 - Your first Pokemon game
Red Version. Oh how nostalgic. I remember my old Vaporeon, my first Pokemon that I ever caught on my brothers game. This is one of the reasons I like Vaporeon so much by the way. That started my long love of Pokemon shortly followed by Pokemon Gold. I look back on how average I was and laugh. Spoiler:
|
My first game was Pokemon Blue I had received for Christmas! So many good souvenirs from that game!
Spoiler:
|
Day 01 - Your first Pokemon game
Pokemon Emerald was the first game I officially owned. The first game I played was Pokemon Red and Blue on my friend's GBC. Oh the memories of almost smashing my friend's GBC because its always "the bag is full!". xD |
Day 01 - Your very first Pokemon game
I've been watching the anime since it first came out here in '98, but I strangely didn't hear of the games until 2000 or so. So, I received Pokemon Gold for my sixth birthday. Ah, how nostalgic. I made numerous mistakes in that first playthrough. |
Yay~ a Pokemon version!
Day 1- Your first Pokemon game Pokemon Yellow The first game I ever played was the Blue version, but the first one I owned is Yellow: Spoiler:
|
Day 01 - Your first Pokemon game: My first Pokemon games were Ruby and Sapphire. I was getting a Game Boy Advance as my birthday gift, and I could choose my games. So I went with Ruby and Sapphire. I decided to do Sapphire first because I thought Kyogre looked better than Groudon. I was hooked on to the game as I played; though I never finished the game the first time, I still had fun doing it.
|
Day 01 - Your First Pokemon Game
Gold Version. My older brother got Silver. My Gold Version really acts up now, so I have my brother's Silver Version, but I owned Gold first. Spoiler:
|
Day 01 - Your first Pokemon game
Pokémon Gold version <333333333333333 Spoiler:
Because my older brother has Silver I got Gold on my Gameboy Colour (and I remember thinking how amazing the graphics were lololololololollmao) and I loved it so much I played through it like 7 times before getting Sapphire when that came out (and the graphics weer sooo much more amazing i played it non stop). I love Ho-oh too, so much more than Lugia. |
Yay, another one of these!
Day 01 - Your first Pokemon game Red. Found out about Pokemon during some vacation in what I believe to have been summer '99 - I was seven - , was fascinated and got Red almost immediately after returning back home. The hardest part was finding out how to save because not the word I was looking for but a rarer, somewhat synonymous word I never had seen being used in that context before yet was used in the menu. After that the game was easy, the fact that I somehow learned about Missingno. pretty quickly was a reason for that. |
Day 01 - Your first Pokemon game
Emerald. It was back in elementary school. I remember when I got my brand new gba SP, I also got Emerald and Sapphire with it. My first playthrough was of Emerald, so technically that's my first Pokemon game. |
Day 01 - Your First Pokemon Game
Pokemon Blue. My mother got Red and Blue, Red for my sister, Blue for me. Perfect for us because they're similar enough that we won't whine that we want what the other has, but different enough that we still felt like unique little snowflakes. |
Yay! A Pokemon version of this!
Day 01 - Your first Pokemon game My first Pokemon game? That was Emerald! I hadn't started playing Pokemon games till the summer of '69 '06 when a friend of mine forced me to try Pokemon Emerald as he was stuck in a certain part of the game (He was unable to locate Team Aqua's submarine. :p). I tried playing it and developed a linking towards the game and even today, Pokemon Emerald continues to be my favourite game. Ah, those newbie gaming days where I went single-handedly against the gym leaders and Elite 4 with a Lv. 80 Sceptile, and the frustration of not knowing how to escape from wild Pokemon... Fun times. |
Day 01 - Your first Pokemon game
I'm sure I'll be the only one who was introduced by a side series, but Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team was what introduced me to the series. I played it until my starter was a lvl 100 and spent about 100 hours playing it. |
ZOMG! STOP STEALING THESE FROM ME/FACEBOOK!*
*Ah, what the heck... the more the merrier? And it IS hard to write all these rules relatively coherently; you did a good job, Syd! Day 01 - Your first Pokemon game Pokemon Blue (Game Boy): Got it for my ninth birthday, I believe after what must have been one of the biggest media blitzes to hit the UK for so many years. Pokemon fever was just everywhere you went, and I didn't want to be left out, nosiree. I think I still have my Blue cartridge somewhere, so it'd be interesting to see what my final team was! |
Day 01 - your first Pokemon game:
The first one I played was Red that my younger brother got for his ninth birthday. I would help him in places and level-grind his pokemon for him. My first Pokemon game was a Blue version that I got for Christmas two months later. I was caught up with my brother's game plotwise within a week, but his Charizard still had an immense level lead on my Blastoise. XD |
Yay, more thirty day challenges. ;)
Day 01 - Your first Pokemon game. Pokemon Leaf Green Version. A little more info... I think this was my first Pokemon game, I'm not 100% sure but I'm quite positive it was. It was either Leaf Green or Yellow which I received from a friend. I still have the old Leaf Green game cartridge but unfortunately I have no way of playing it. Would like to give it an old run again. |
Day 01 - Your first Pokemon game
My first Pokemon game was Blue, I got it for Christmas when I was 9 along with my first Gameboy color, the clear-purple one. |
Day 01 - Your first Pokemon game- Pokemon Fire Red! Spoiler:
Hey, for the record, I'm 12, so I couldn't get in on the GBC action. |
Day 01 - Your first Pokemon game
Red Version - I believe I got it for Christmas when I turned 5 or 6. I remember next to nothing about it though, sadly. If it was my first real memory of a Pokemon game, it would be Gold. Those were some GREAT times. |
Day 02 - Your favourite Pokemon
Ahh! This is a tough one. ;; I like both Grovyle and Snivy but I think I'll go for Grovyle. Both of them have really good designs and all, but I fell in love with Grovyle after playing Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of T/D/S. <3 And I cannot forget Mudkip, can I? It's the cutest Pokemon ever. I wish I could cuddle it. |
Day 02 - Your favourite Pokemon
http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/b/bf/MDP189.png The god of Leech Seed. And that's just the easiest of the many possible explanations for why I love Jumpluff. |
Day 02 - Your favourite Pokemon
Its day 02 already? D: Anyways my favourite Pokemon is Cofagrigus. I've never had any other favourite Pokemon before. Until I saw Cofagrigus, it was decided. I don't have any explanations of why Cofagrigus became my favourite Pokemon. It came to me naturally. |
Day 02 - Favorite Pokemon: My favorite Pokemon are Gallade and Excadrill. Since Gen III, I was very fond of Gardevoir, despite how rare Ralts was back then. I was totally psyched out when Gallade was introduced as Gardevoir's male counterpart, mainly because of its arm blades, gladiator appearance and good offensive movepool. When Gen V rolled around, I started to like Excadrill because it can turn itself into a rocket drill. Despite its shallow movepool, it can wreck most teams with its base 135 Attack in sandstorm.
|
Day 02 - Your favourite Pokemon-
Dragonite, Gardevoir, Slowking, Breeloom |
Day 02 - Your favourite Pokemon-
Persian. Its grace, class, and elegance has been unmatched by any Pokemon that has come after it, and that's four generations of Pokemon. Shame they made it less than useful on the battlefield, but that doesn't keep me from using it. |
Day 02 - Your favourite Pokemon
Dusknoir, without a doubt. I think it's cute, I like its design, it's a Ghost Pokemon and of course, it kicks ass! |
Day 02 - Your favourite Pokemon - kinda difficult, really, but I'd have to say, normal pokemon-wise, one of my favorites is Torterra. It's so tankly and it has an amazing concept. <3
|
Day 02 - Favourite Pokemon
Ohhhhh yes, one one pokemon fits under the favourite pokemon list of Doronjo~! Milotic. ^___^ Spoiler:
Oh hell yes. Few reasons why: It is a very gorgeious pokemon. ^^ Like seriously; look at it a long time, you'll be easily awed by its gorgeousness. <3 Also, battle-wise, its pretty effective; I use a special-wall type milotic, with Surf, Hidden Power [Electric], Recover, and Toxic. It works quite well against those sub/toxic Zapdos Swtich-ins who doesn't want to eat a Toxic. ^^ I miiiight consider Mirror Coat, but eh. XD Trying to find a feebas in R/S/E is just...a pain in the ass though; like really. Just 4 squares of water in the entire route. @[email protected]; Like really...why such a rediculous way to try and find it? :| However, I like how you can catch a full-grown Milotic in Pokemon Black and White with a Super Rod in Route 1; you just gotta fish in those "bubbily" patches of water. (well I call them bubbily.) A few other of my most favourite pokemon include Flygon, Mienshao, Chandelure, Raichu, and so on, those are just at the top of my head. |
Sorry about not being the first to post for Day 2, guys. I was in a tornado watch for two hours and didn't have power and was really too tired to stay up til midnight. >.< I should be able to keep back on track from now on though!
Day 02: Your favourite Pokemon Umbreon, Smeargle, Quilava, Petilil - I CAN HAVE A TIE IF I WANT TO. ;; I just can't decide, honestly! They're all too wonderful, and I fell in love with them all at first sight<3 Spoiler:
|
Day 2 - Your favorite Pokemon
My favorite is Torterra. The minute I saw it, I fell in love with its design and the concept behind it, and I love its typing. I've had one on a good 2/3 of all my teams since the start of 4th gen, and I'm currently training one for my Black team. |
Day 02: Your Favorite Pokémon
Tough choice if I only had to choose just one. If it's that case though, I'd have to say it'd be Quagsire. <3 Was just so endearing during my HeartGold days! If I were able to choose multiple Pokémon, Cofagrigus would be on that list as well. The idea of a sarcophagus Pokémon just blew me away, so I took all the opportunity to get one myself. ...And to catch up... Day 01: Your First Pokémon Game It'd have to be Pokémon Blue. I wasn't actually a sole player of it since I was probably around 4 years old at the time, but I helped my sister go through it. We'd have competitions to see who can play without bumping into any walls (Making that wall-hit sound, haha), and other fun and neat things. |
Day 2 - Your favorite Pokemon
Well, if for some reason you didn't notice by my name, it's MEW!Though I Specifically do like Shiny Mew much more - I simply do adore all Mew. :3 Spoiler:
|
Got some catching up to do...
Day 1 - Your First Pokémon Game Pokémon Red Version (of course), and I'm surprised at how many peeps here started later than that. Shame on you! :P I got it for Christmas '99 I believe (all you lucky Americans got it a year early :P ), and I still have it - with it's original save game file. Spoiler:
Day 2 - Your favourite Pokémon Well *cough* I would have thought that was rather obvious. :P Though after Mudkip, it would probably be Quilava, then Raichu. They'd be my posse. ^^ Spoiler:
|
Day 02 - Your favorite pokemon:
If you've known me for any period of time, it should be quite obvious. I fell in love with it when I got one in a Neo3 booster pack back when I was big into the TCG and I immediately built a deck around it. I still have the card to this day, but it's a little worse for wear. XD I of course mean: Spoiler:
|
Day 1 - Leaf Green.
------------------------------------- Day 2 It has changed a lot over time. Blaziken's been there, Weavile, Tyranitar, Typhlosion. But in more recent times, my favourite has been Mawile by a long way. I really like it's design, I like Steel types (Not as much as Fighting types, but that's not the point) and it's pretty versatile outside competitive pokemon battling, where it's next to useless :(. |
Day 02 - Your favourite Pokemon.
My favourite Pokemon? ...My favourite Pokemon would have to be Mewtwo. It was a tough choice but I really like Mewtwo. It's such a bad-ass Pokemon and it just really cool. |
Day 02 - Your favorite Pokemon
I honestly can't pick a single Pokemon as a favorite. For the longest time, I liked Lucario, then Espeon. Right now, it's probably either Eelektross or Drifblim. |
Day 02 - Your favourite Pokemon
I've been saying this to a few people over the last few days, but I wouldn't say I had one favourite Pokemon. For the most part, it seems to change between a select few. At the moment, I'd say it would be Aerodactyl, hands down. However, a few weeks ago, it was probably Lapras (when I was trying to find one in Black version), and before that it was Excadrill (when it was kicking ass and taking so many names). So... yeah. Don't have ONE favourite Pokemon, so to speak of. Sorry! |
Day 02 - Your favourite Pokemon
My favorite pokemon will always be haunter. Not only are his moves amazing, but he was the first pokemon that I thought was both hilarious and intimidating. I just remember thinking, holy crap, it would be so awesome to own a haunter lol. |
Day 1 - Your First Pokémon Game
Yellow Version. Day 02 - Your favourite Pokemon I am in love with Archeops right now. I'm a huge prehistoric life and dinosaur enthusiasts and to see something like Archeops made me leap with joy. |
Day 2: Your Favorite Pokemon
That's like asking what my favorite song is; I can't pick just one! Absol, Galvantula, Luxray, Leafeon, Scyther...they're all up there. But if I had to pick one, it would be Suicune. Legendaries aren't usually my favorites, but Suicune is just such an amazing Pokemon. It's powerful, it looks threatening, and it manages to be graceful at the same time. Plus it's the mascot of my favorite game, Crystal. I remember hearing that cry and EPIC battle music trying to catch Suicune :) Spoiler:
|
Day 02 - Your favourite Pokemon?
The great Pokemon ever, Vaporeon. It has never changed and it never will. I love it because of haw cute and awesome it looks, how powerful it is, how it was one of the first Pokemon I ever used and saw and many more reasons. |
Sydian, y u no tell me about this 4?
Day 01 - Your first Pokemon game Pokémon Stadium was my first if I remember correctly. Either that or Pokemon Gold version. Pokemon Stadium was an amazing game, and I always enjoyed some of those minigames. I remember taking ages just to get good at Snore Wars, and I remember never being able to defeat Sabrina. Her Pokemon were too awesome for me, and I would always think about using the Ghost types only. Someone had to beat her for me. It also introduced me to the fact that a Zapdos' Thunderbolt won't work against a Nidoqueen. -_- Spoiler:
Day 02 - Your favourite Pokemon Gee, this changes all the time for me, and because of Hiidoran, I'm getting a liking for Heatran as well. But my favourite Pokemon right now would have to be probably Poliwhirl. It looks awesomely amazing, and I just can't explain my love for Poliwhirl. It's got a mix of attacks, which really helps out a lot for me. <3 |
Day 1 - Your First Pokémon Game
Yellow Version. Day 02 - Your favourite Pokemon Probably the Pansage line right now. I just love the concept (it's cute), plus it's a monkey with seed bombs. And that awkward movement in the animation sprite. Though for a majority of the time it has been Aerodactyl. So versatile! So quick! So strong! Pterodactyl! |
Day 3: A Pokemon that is underrated
Smeargle - I think people forget that this is probably the most customizable Pokemon movewise~ And it's very unique and cute! But I think that's irrelevant as to why it's underrated... Spoiler:
|
Day 03 - A Pokémon that is underrated
Tough question ftw~ I would have to go with something like Masquerain for this. It has a very nice moveset, being able to dish out many powerful moves such as Hydro Pump, Shadow Ball, Bug Buzz and many more. It's just awesome in it's moveset, and it's really cute to boot. :D http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/284.gif |
Day 03 - Underrated Pokemon: I'm saying 2 Pokemon here: Archeops and Sigilyph.
Archeops: http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/567.gif Even though Archeops is held back by Defeatist, its high offenses and Speed ensure that it almost always gets an attack in before it gets into Defeatist range. It can also utilize Flying Gem + Acrobatics to cause massive damage to almost anything. Sigilyph: http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/561.gif Even though it has the same trollish Speed as Haxorus, Sigilyph makes a good Special sweeper. It can use Magic Guard to protect itself from the destructive effects of Leech Seed, burn and poison. Even though Reuniclus is better at using the Magic Guard + Life Orb strategy, Sigilyph can do it decently. |
Day 03 - A Pokémon that is underrated
I think Fearow certainly needs more love. Of course, it's not very good competively, but even in-game most people seem to prefer the Pidgey line. Fearow has stats focused on offense (unlike the balanced Pidgeot), has access to what was for a long time the best of all Flying moves, Drill Peck, and it its looks aren't too bad either, I'm especially fond of its first generation backsprite: http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/e/e2/Spr_b_g1_022.png |
Day 02 - Your favourite Pokemon-
Cherrim, Cherubi. Both so cute and awesome. Also Alomomola. Cool name and it was pretty awesome in the Anime. Day 03 - A Pokemon that is Underrated- http://www.pokemon-index.com/normal/phione.pngPhione ;_; IT IS A LEGENDARY TOO YOU KNOW PEOPLE! |
Day 03 - A Pokemon that is Underrated
Nidoking. The more offensively oriented of the Nidos, this guy is capable of doing a ton of damage and can have quite diverse movesets. |
Day 03 - Underrated Pokemon:
Honestly? I really think Wigglytuff is a underrated pokemon: Spoiler:
Because it has a REALLY good movepool. The thing is, I guess game freak nerfed it like crazy. @[email protected]; I also loved him at PM2. ^___^ HE WAS THE BEST. =D |
Day 03 - A Pokemon that is underrated
Clefable, in my opinion, is underrated. Its so cute in my opinion! And Magic Guard gives it loads of stuff to work with, seriously. I'm surprised that not much people use Clefable. |
Day 03 - A Pokemon that is underrated
Ludicolo - Like seriously.... That thing can do pretty much anything with proper setup. Yet I see so many people NOT WANTING TO USE IT because Lotad is difficult to train.... That pineapple saved me from ice beams in my monotype... dancing Mexi pineapple FTW http://pldh.net/media/pokemon/gen5/blackwhite_animated_front/272.gif |
Day 03 - A Pokemon that is underrated
For me, Lanturn is really underrated. It's a good Water AND Electric Pokemon, and quite bulky if you think about it... but it never seems to get used all that much. Shame, really. I have a little soft spot for it, I s'pose! |
Day 01 - Your first Pokemon game
My first pokémon game was Pokémon Emerald. I got it for Christmas (presumably in 2005). It took me until late 2006 to get past Slateport City for some reason, but I still love the game to this day (although the length of the storyline loses some replay value). Day 02 - Your favourite Pokemon Well, it's a tie between many pokémon, and is ever-changing, but my current mood puts the top three as Bulbasaur, Charizard and Blastoise. Bulbasaur is pretty cool, the easiest starter to use, Red had one, Ash still does (I love its' cry in the anime, even though I've hardly ever seen it), and overall it's just a cool pokémon. Charizard is also cool, possibly one of the strongest starters (the strongest Kanto starter, if you ignore its' weakness to Stealth Rock in competitive play), it's a Dragon, used by Lance, and thus learns cool moves such as Dragon Claw and Dragon Pulse. It's also the only Flying-type starter, and when I first got my copy of Pokémon LeafGreen in 2008, I chose Charmander, and Charizard may well have been the last pokémon that I ever raised to level 100 by myself (my Dragonite was my last lv.100, but it was traded as a Dratini). Blastoise...well, I've never used it, but it looks cool when I face Blue's Blastoise in LeafGreen. I may be using it in a challenge soon, it's useful (learns all the water-type HMs), and it evolves from Squirtle, who is really cute. Here's pretty pictures of them all guys: Spoiler:
Day 03 - A Pokemon that is underrated Well, there are many, some of which I've seen mentioned in the above posts. However, I'm going to go and promote Slowbro and Slowking, who are really nifty, with nice typing, and well, these slow sloth pokémon can actually be used well competitively you know! They are both lower-tier pokémon who can be used right up in OU (at the moment, Slowbro seems to be slightly more popular), yet excel in their own tiers. They have pretty good movepools, are bulky but have power, and I like their designs too. Here's pictures of them...you know you want to: Spoiler:
|
Day 03 - A Pokémon That Is Underrated
http://www.serebiiforums.com/images/avatars/d2headshot/208.png Steelix - This thing is great. Most people don't say it's very bad but really rarely do I see anyone noticing what an exceptional Lead it makes or just how good a Curse Tank it can be too. All whilst getting a hugely powerful Earthquake to fire off at everything and Gyro Ball to complement its horrible Speed. Really it is much more useful than people at first think, imo. |
Day 03 - A Pokémon That Is Underrated.
Lapras. It's a great Pokemon with brilliant HP stats. In general though all of it's stats are pretty good and while speed is it's lowest, it makes up for it due to the high HP stat. It has a great move-pool and versatile with it being a dual type, water and ice Pokemon. |
Day 03 - A Pokémon That Is Underrated.
Hitmonchan. This brother has pathetic amounts of HP and Sp. A but has enough Attack and Sp. D to make Kadabra cry if you level him up right. He also has many high priority moves, of many types to punch out anything you'd like to. Not only that, but he has decent to good status/guard moves. And if you'd really like to, he can learn Close Combat to punch that Staraptor back in the beak. No hard feelings Staraptor, I actually really like you too. But most of all, he's named afterHiroyuki Ebihara in Japanese, Mike Tyson in French and HIT+MONSTER+Jackie CHAN in English/Chinese. YES. DO IT. |
Day 03 - A Pokémon that is Underrated:
Hmm... I can't quite think of one, but I guess I should say Marowak! http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/105.gif With Thick Club attached, Marowak's attack gets to the mid 500's alone. With Rock Head and Double-Edge, things can be quite a beast, and since Marowak knows multi-hit moves, annoying substitutes like Whimsicott can bow down to him rather quickly. Shame his speed is rather low. I guess that's where support and synergy kick in? |
Day 03 - A Pokémon that is underrated
The Gastly line. With all the new Ghost types it's easy to forget the original ghost types. |
Day 03 - A Pokémon that is underrated
Spoiler:
|
Day 03 - An Underrated Pokemon
I would have to say that Swellow is one of the most underrateed pokemon out there. It has terrific speed, and an alright amount of moves to choose from. |
Day 3
Miltank. Definitely. It's one of my favourite pokemon, but it's also a brilliant defensive wall and utility pokemon, with access to Stealth Rock, Milk Drink and Heal Bell. Plus it can pack a bit of a punch. |
Day 01: Your first Pokemon game.
Spoiler:
Oh, nostalgia. I will never forget playing Red for the first time... Day 02: Your Favorite Pokemon Spoiler:
Definitely a tie between Raichu and Arcanine. Though... Lillipup and Typhlosion almost made the cut. Day 03: A Pokemon that is underrated. Spoiler:
I never realized Kecleons true potential until I used him in a challenge. He became one of my favorites on that team. |
(I live in the GMT +8 time zone, so expect my 30 days challenge answers to be ahead of others)
Day 04 - Favorite item: Tie between Expert Belt and Life Orb. -Expert Belt: It's not as effective as Life Orb, but my Pokemon don't suffer recoil. I like using this on Pokemon who have excellent type coverage in their moves. -Life Orb: The recoil could be lower, but the power boost without being locked into 1 move is what it's all about. |
Day 03 - A Pokemon that is underrated
I think many people overlook the potential of Shiftry. When equipped with the proper moveset(s), it can prove to be quite lethal in battle. |
Day 03 - A Pokemon that is underrated
Not much I can say on this subject, since I tend to use the same Pokemon a lot. But since I started doing Nuzlockes, I think I found one. Raticate was a very helpful physical attacker in my Fire Red run. Not much else I can say. |
Day 4: Your favorite item
VS. Seeker - I love getting exp and being overlevel! It's easier to level grind against trainers instead of wild Pokemon. Simple as that! Spoiler:

Day 4: Your favorite item
I agree with Syd on this one: VS Seeker. I mean, back in Fire Red I always grind in Vermilion City against that trainers there and man, did I become overleveled. I was so overleveled that I didn't have to grind until I reached Sabrina! |
Day 4: Your favorite item
I have to third this.... Vs. Seeker - None of the other rematch type things did as good a job at consistent trainer grinds as the vs seeker. Trainer pokemon give off more experience... thus they should be readily available post game.... WHERE ALL YOU DO IS GRIND. |
Day 03 - A Pokemon that is underrated
When I did my St. Patrick's day challenge I found new respect for Victreebel. It carried me through most the game. Day 4: Your favorite item I like the GB Sounds in Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver. It was one of the best things they could've done in a remake and they did. I loved the music in Pokemon Gold and Silver and I was happy I could listen to it again. |
Day 4: Your favorite item Bit of a tough one here, but I'm going to have to say VS Seeker as well. It's been such an awesome way of training. Just makes it so much easier, really.
|
Day 4: Your favorite item
Gawd yes! The Revival Herb is a must for first time league runs. |
Day 4: Your favorite item
The Bike :D I would have probs given up on pokemon without it. It is such a time saver <3 |
Day 04 - Your favourite item
Lucky Egg. It has, like, no side effects and increases your Experience in battle by so much. Grinding becomes so much easier because of this. (Although, second place would definitely be the Bicycle, and it's close as well...) |

Day 04- Your favorite item
Lucky Egg, Bike and Vs. Seeker. Lucky Egg makes training SO much Easier and Faster. Simple. Bike. Obviously I need to get around faster than running around. XD Vs.Seeker. Also helpful for training, although B/W has the Nimbasa Stadiums for this. |

Anyways... Day 04: Your Favourite Item THE ITEMFINDERRRRR. ^.^ Spoiler:
Especially in Pokemon Black and White. :3 MUCH more useful and convenient! Its kind of a drag to turn it off in order to access the menu though, buuut eh. :3 I also like the Vs.Seeker to pawnzorz peoplez who have suddenly restore their pokemon's health, which means yay! I-GET-TO-GO-EXP-FARMING! :3 Quote:
For some reason. :3 Yeah, its a cute design, isn't it? :3 |
Day 4
Got to be the Bike, closely followed by the Lucky Egg and Exp. Share. The Bike just makes your life so much as easier as soon as you get it, Pokemon would be pretty annoying without it. |
Day 04: Your favourite item.
Lucky Egg. A little more info... It is so helpful. It makes raising Pokemon slightly quicker and makes it less of a grind and a major plus is that it is reusable and you can always use it unlike other items that go away after one use. |
Day 04 - Your favorite item.
Toss up between Lucky Egg and Vs. Seeker. The former somewhat makes up for the broken exp earning system in B/W and the latter is awesome for earning loads of experience and cash. |
Day 04: Your favourite item:
Lucky Egg and Leftovers for me. Bike is obvious because it makes life in the games easier. To me it is just a basic necessity. :) |
Day 04: Your favourite item:
The bike. I hate spending time moving from one place to another in real life, and I also hate doing that in the games I play. I simply can't stand long walks, so until I can get fly, I constantly use the bike. |
Day 04 - Your favourite item
Got to be the Exp. Share. http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/f/f3/Dream_Exp._Share_Sprite.png When you have an underlevelled pokémon, this makes raising them so much easier. Particularly in Hg/Ss where wild pokémon are far too weak, and B/W with that broken experience system that can cause a level 1 pokémon to go up about 20 levels after one KO. |
Day 4: Your favorite item
I'd have to say my favorite item is the Lucky Egg. It practically bends all aspects of training. |
Day 04 - Your favourite item
As far as usefulness for training and battling, definitely Lucky Egg. BW's experience system may have made it harder to grind, but introducing this item made it much easier. I wish it was available in past games. But my favorite just because it's awesome is GB Sounds. Nostalgic music from my favorite game in a remake of my favorite game? Yes, please!! |
Might as well join in~ First three days in spoilers.
Spoiler:
Day 04 - Your favorite item MooMoo Milk, for sure. Whenever I get the chance, I'll buy a bunch for me to use. They're really handy to have on-hand, and they're healthy! /like that has anything to do with Pokemon I also like the Revival Herb, too, because it completely revives your Pokemon. And while it does make your Pokemon less friendly towards you, that's not much of a problem if your Pokemon is at max friendship, right? It's also helpful for Pokemon you want to hate you for Frustration purposes. |
Day 04 - Your Favorite Item
Lemonade. The deal for it compared to, say, a Potion or a Super Potion is rather astounding. It's also very nice to look at! Popping out some Lemonade, chilling with your Pokémon. I don't know, after the Celadon Department Store and whatnot, I just have some good imagery of enjoying a nice vending machine drink with a beloved Pokémon. |
Day 5: Character you feel you are most like (or wish you were)
Morty - Well, I love all Ghost type Pokemon, Ecruteak is my favorite city in Pokemon, and I'm a pretty chilled out dude, like Morty. Plus I'm a manly man that's not afraid to wear a scarf. ;) Spoiler:

Days 01-04
Spoiler:
Day 05 - Character you feel you are most like wish you were http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/3653/unledjjr.jpg "I'm this town's Gym Leader. I also happen to be a model." ^¬^ |
Day 05 - Character I am most like: Cheren. Simply put, I look similar to Cheren because I wear glasses and have a similar hairstyle to him. Like Cheren, I also know a lot about Pokemon and strive to be the best trainer.
|
Day 5: Character you feel you are most like (or wish you were)
None. I don't think I'm like any Pokemon character at all, nor do I wish to be one. If I would ever want to be one, however, I'd choose Brock. :U |
Day 5: Character you feel you are most like (or wish you were)
Morty. I LOVE ghost Pokemon. But of course you would know that if you've seen any of my first posts. .__. But I'm also calm, like him. |
Day 5: Character you feel you are most like (or wish you were).
I think I'm quite like Falkner. I love Flying type Pokemon and Falkner seems like a cool guy. |
Day 05 - Character you feel you are most like (or wish you were)
I couldn't think of anybody that I want to be, so it's whom I'm most similar to. Again, there were no exact or even really close matches. So I chose: http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/1/15/VSChili.png Chili, because I'm hot-headed, cocky and loud. http://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/b/b7/VSShauntal.png and Shauntal, because of my love of Ghost Pokemon, as well as purple and writing! |
