The trainer that nearly broke you...
there are alot of trainers out there, with, some real easy to beat, some a real challenge, some might have been even be capable enough to pose a real threat! was there a certain non-gym leader/ non storyline/non elite four trainer during your first playthrough that you had trouble with? i mean, a LOT of trouble with?
Im not sure how i could possible remember something like that and can you even battle a random trainer after it beat you?
I didn't really find any individual trainers to be very strong.
A couple of the Team Plasma guys were a little tough, but I only had 2 members on my team for a long time so that probably had something to do with it. Any trainer with an Alomomola was harder than usual. Even when hitting it with electric attacks it barely did any damage. It just felt really... massive? |
Uhhh..I honestly cant remember any trainer actually giving me any trouble..Most of my Pokemon were overleveled *shrugs*. Maybe Fire types since I used Grass and Grass/Bug types most of the way...
I think that I almost died against the trainer in relic castle with a sigilyph. Sigilyph has insane special attack, and I think most of my pokemon were weak to flying and/or psychic.
Same with Tyranit, thank God I had Vicitini, & another trainer (White vers.) that battles you with a triple battle style, finishing all my Pokemon, all but one, Tirtouga. I thank him, nowadays.
I guess when I fought a certain person it was really tough seeing as how I was at least 10 levels below her at the time. (Don't want to say her name incase some people haven't got to her yet, in spoiler though.)
Spoiler:
that trainer in chargestone cave with the Achen caused my team trouble as half were weak against it.
It would be after the first playthrough.. After I beat Ghetsis 54 something pokemon with my barely lvl 48-50 pokemon (no cheats im just good at strategy) I stroll through credits pop into white forest, catch a couple 5's... and then WTF EVERY trainer has 60-65 lvled pokemon! I was like, how the-..?
I agree with the above, the post-story trainers were all huge threats (even for a well prepared mid 50 team like mine).
Other than that, no main story trainer have really been that extraordinarily difficult. Chilli was a pain at first though, as I had let him use all those Work-ups during a blunder :P |
if i remember correctly, i had quite a bit of trouble with clay, lenora, and N.
the post game trainer in Nimbasa which is a double battle against two darmanitans. another with Liligant and wwhimsicott. I have a team of 55-60s and theyre still a challenge
Lol, the first trainer after coming out of the white forest/black city. Purugly/Lapras PWNED me.
I'm don't remember why or how, but N almost killed me. And, since Zoroark was my main/only Pokemon at the time...I suicide trained at Marshal and at Grimsley's Scrafty.
Thinking back, that Morimoto guy or whatever was a little tough, but with Volcarona wasnt too hard. Same as the post game trainers. Cynthia of course wiped my team out quickly..Stupid Garchomp, and too this day I have not beat her yet XD.

That one Battle Girl with Throh on Mt. Nejji

EXACTLY! I went to the Dreamyard right after I beat the Elite 4 and all of the trainers had pokemon around Lvl 65. The stadiums have even higher level pokemon. There is such a gap between levels, it's difficult to beat those trainers. |

I dunno if I'm the only one (probably) but I absolutely loved the huge jump in level going from E4 to post-game trainers. It made everything after the main storyline actually somewhat difficult, with my Pokémon nearly KOed a good three-fourths of the time. It made strategizing and planning out stuff more important, I s'pose. Plus, the huge jump in level made every battle a challenge and gave way more experience points. I dunno, I just really enjoyed the huge change.
Any trainer in specific...? Nah, not really. I mean, I lost to Cynthia the first try, but eh otherwise not really anyone. |

A Pilot in Battle Subway. I was so damn scared! I never lost in my entire life playing
PKMN, so I was so afraid that I would lose! Unfortunately for that Pilot, I won with my last standing Hyderigon. (Which would have died if the Pilot's Salamence's Draco Meteor hits my Hyderigon. Unfortunately for him, his Salamence's Draco Meteor missed) |
as for me, it was a certain trainer within victory road with an Eelektrik. then again with another's fraxure(i forget which one or if it was in victory road), afterwards a veteran in challengers cave with 6 pokemon, all of my team were fatigued, but i some how managed to pull a win out
There was 1 trainer that really gave me a hard time, though you don't find her until well after the Elite Four. I won't say her name though in case you haven't made it this far yet and don't want the surprise spoiled. I'll put her picture in a spoiler.
Spoiler:
Just about everybody post-game...I remember one guy with an especially vicious Lv68 Absol and this one lady with a Lv65 Own Tempo Lilligant who ripped through my team with Petal Dance.
Alder. Only Full Restore - Revival Herb and a bit of luck made me go through the E4 smoothly, and this guy is giving me a very difficult time. Especially with the sudden level shift in the postgame...
Some Battle Girl (I belive) in Twist Mountain. All I remember about her is that she was patrolling for a while, she got close to beating me, from what I remember..
I have a hard time dealing with any trainers with Ducklett or Swanna! Ogod my Black team is so water/fly weak. Pathetic, I know. I packed a Zebstrika in White. B)
hardly any normal trainer gave me trouble... before i could actually face the lv60s trainers I immediately went to pokeshifter place before I did anything else... so yeah :s
I consider myself a fairly experienced 'Trainer', so to speak. I've been playing the games long enough, had fun doing it, even if I don't do it for stats and what not. So admitting who it was that has given me the most amount of trouble so far is probably going to break me with SHAME.
But...Burgh. I don't know WHY, but Burgh. Maybe it's because I don't have as much time as I used to to train, but BURGH. And...even now, when I've finally managed to move on...he continues to break me. In the MIND. *meebles in corner* |
Ghetsis was the only one that gave me a little trouble. Only because he bum rushed me after N, and it was before I started getting together a real team.
Challenger's Cave, one of the last Veterans in there has a team of 6 Pokemon.
The team is: Gyarados Excadrill Crobat Druddigon Gigalith Snorlax |
Some random with an archeopteryx in that electric cave. That thing had some overpowered move that killed half of my team.
Also, the battle with the female rival between the cities with the seventh and eighth badges. My team was already mostly in the yellow or red, but I didn't feel like going back to the Pokemon Center because of all these cursed swamps. So I saw a guardhouse and thought I could get away with not healing. Then she attacked. And my leading Pokemon was completely useless against hers. In the end I still made it to the next city without going back though :p |
The Lilligant and Whimsicott combo actually did obliterate me. My Sawk was owning in the stadium, getting ahead of the others, so I decided to level up Samurott too by going into a double battle...Reshiram was luckily in my party for reasons I do not know, so I didn't lose money.
One of the grunts in Chargestone cave. Don't laugh, almost everyone in my party was fainted.
The guy in Relic Castle on your first visit who has a Sigilyph...
Wow, he was tough to beat... :P -totodile42 |
