Please suggest a Pokemon Black team for me
I'm getting Pokemon Black for my birthday and I need a team to use in-game!
My Trainer's Name: Nichole Gender: Female Starter: Oshawott Post if you can find the best combinations! |
Just so you know, we're not supposed to build your team for you. Choose 6 Pokemon you want post them, then we can rate them...
|
Build a team first, and we can swap, arrange, and replace moves and Pokemon later, for what works well with something else.
|
I would use the one with Nuttrei in it, just because he's freaking amazing--eats up damage like a boss and Iron Barbs = death to all. You also have Urgamoth on the same team, which is a definite plus. Shibirudon is also a very good Pokemon with a very diverse movepool. Urgamoth is nigh impossible to raise and use before the E4 (but I did it in my first run-through anyway).
Oh, yeah. I meant Ferrothorn, Volcarona, and Eelektross. (D) (C) is also good (it's basically what my team is now, except the starter was Smugleag, who I dropped for Ferrothorn, the bug was Pendoraa and the Fighting-type was Zuruzukin). Darmanitan is absolute win (but make sure your Darumaka has Hustle and not Inner Focus) and Swoobat is pretty versatile early-game. If I could mix them around, I'd do Daikenki, Symboler, Hihidaruma, Nattorei / Elfoon, Shibirudon, and Urgamoth. ... ... Oh. Samurott, Sigilyph, Darmanitan, Ferrothorn / Whimsicott, Eelektross, Volcarona. Whimsicott is very good once it learns Giga Drain. Trust me. Sigilyph is ridiculously strong--like ridiculous. And fast too. One of the times you battle N, he has one and it will sweep your team. |

This team looks pretty good, if you don't mind trading over Tepig and such. However, you have a blazing weakness to Bug types, and if I remember correctly Ghesthis has a Volcarona and that thing is strong and will hurt you. Also, I prefer Whimsicott over lilligant, but I guess that is just a personal preferance. (B) http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_503samurott.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_514simisear.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_521unfezant.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_530excadrill.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_523zebstrika.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_542leavanny.png This team looks nice too, as long as you don't mind having your whole team before the third gym. You'll find that Simisear has a terrible moveset and is outclassed by Chandelure (and Volcarona, if you don't mind grinding). I'm not sure about Unfezant or Zebstrika, but I've heard that Zebstrika is frail and that Unfezant is pretty strong (I think). Excadrill is amazing and will help you out a lot, and Leavanny is also pretty strong, and if you use her I suggest running around a lot in Pinwheel forest to max her happiness to evolve her before the Bug gym so that she can dominate (which she did for me if I remember correctly). Also this team is crippled by Rock and Ground types, so just use your brain in those situations to counter it. (C) http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_503samurott.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_528swoobat.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_555darmanitan-standard.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_586sawsbuck-spring.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_596galvantula.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_620mienshao.png This team looks fun. I used Swoobat, and it is fairly okay pre-E4 but then it is just outclassed by everything and wont do you much good, even during the E4. Darmanitan is pretty strong and should hold well, and Sawsbuck would be fun to use in my opinion. Galvantula is pretty good, and its typing provides nice type coverage. Mienshao is also good, as long as you don't mind getting it really late in the game. I suggest using Conkeldurr/Throh/Sawk since you can get them early, instead of Mienshao. Once again, this team is weak to Rock, so have Samurott and Mienshao handy in the caves. (D) http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_503samurott.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_630mandibuzz.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_637volcarona.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_598ferrothorn.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_604eelektross.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_573cinccino.png I wouldn't use this team just because you get most of them late in the game. You can't find Mandibuzz until after the 7th or 8th gym (I think), and Volcarona you will get late and will have to grind like 40 levels. Ferrothorn and Eelektross are sort of at a place that I would call the last place I would catch a team member, because you find them where it is pretty central and you wont have to grind too much, etc. I'm not sure how good Cinccino is, but she looks pretty :D Weakness wise, this team is extremely well rounded and wont easily fall to any one type. (E) http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_503samurott.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_609chandelure.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_521unfezant.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_547whimsicott.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_553krookodile.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_576gothitelle.png I like this team as well. Chandelure is great, and I've heard Unfezant is, Whimsicott is cute and does pretty well as well, and I've heard good things about Krookodile and Gothitelle. This team has pretty bad weakness to Ice and Bug, so be sure to strategize accordingly. (F) http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_503samurott.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_635hydreigon.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_643reshiram.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_586sawsbuck-spring.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_561sigilyph.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_523zebstrika.png The only problem with this team is that you won't get 1/3 of it until right before or during the E4. Hydreigon is awesome, and strong while at it, as is Reshiram. Sawsbuck is pretty good and would be fun to use, and Sigilyph is crazy good and a lot better than Swoobat (sorry Swoobat D:). I have heard the Zebstrika can be frail, but I don't know. This team is really weak to Ice, so just keep that in mind. Overall, I think I would choose Team B, but replace Simisear with Chandelure and Zebstrika with Eelektross. |
Alder has the Volcarona, not Ghetsis.
And it's 58 levels for Volcarona before E4 the first time, but then you can get a wild one for the second run-through. Also, Hydreigon is like... Near impossible to get before the first E4 because he finishes at level 74--He's only good with breeding, so that's 73 levels of training. Zweilous is definitely not worth it because he sucks. Eelektross completely outclasses Zebstrika. Whimsicott~Prankster is a hell lot more useful than Lilligant and can't die ever (actually it never died when I used it because of Giga Drain). Ferrothorn is a very, very good Pokemon. Give him a Rugged Helmet for in-game and he'll wreck anything that tries to touch him. You can just spam Curse. |
Quote:
I might go with E - so deku says massive Bug and Ice weakness with Team E? Chandelure can deal with both Bug and Ice types, you know (It is part Fire-type). |
I'd use Team F, except that I'd replace Zebstrika with Galvantula or Eelektross.
|
How did anyone get the idea that Unfezant is good? What set can you run for Unfezant? Its most reliable Flying attack is... Aerial Ace (I guess if it holds a power herb, you can use Sky Attack... once).
Unfezant @ Life Orb/Power Herb U-Turn Aerial Ace/Sky Attack Return Hypnosis/Roost 252 Atk/252 Spe/4 SDef Is the only set it can run effectively at all. Too bad it didn't get Steel Wing or a Fighting move. That might have tipped it off. Meh. Not that good. Staraptor still takes the cake. |
Group C & E is a great match up to me.
Or a mixture of all the groups perhaps. http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_503samurott.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_514simisear.pnghttp://archives.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/0/01/628.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_553krookodile.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_542leavanny.pnghttp://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa354/Hikari10Girl/Pokemon%20Sprites%20Collection/th_523zebstrika.png perhaps this? |

F is the one i'm liking.
Just replace Zebstrika with Elektross. Or you could try team B. seems fine enough. |
Quote:
As for CyberBlaziken's comment, I like Zebstrika way better than Eelektross. |
Well, in my run through of white, Krookodile, Haxorus, Samurott, and Victini were the real cornerstones on me team. I understand not using Victini because it is a legendary and some people don't use legendaries, so maybe you could use Darmanitan as an alternative. I'd go with Garvantula over Eelektross. Eelektross was just too slow.
That's just my opinion. Try and win with your favorites :) |
Um... you seem to be making some strange decisions...
Quote:
Disagree with both there, sorry. Anyone with White can trade you a Braviary, and it's way better than Unfezant. What do you find in Zebstrika? Speed? That's all it has over Eelektross. I use both, I know. Do you just not want Eelektross because you've already caught a Zebstrika or because Tynamo are hard to find or something? Quote:
Quote:
Again, what does anyone see in Unfezant? |
It's also in-game and any Pokemon can be used in-game.
If the OP wants to use a team that is subpar on a competitive level, so be it. Though, I wonder why you suggested all those Pokemon if you obviously preferred others. |
Quote:
And I have not even played Black yet, my birthday is in October so I have not caught any Unova Pokes yet. Quote:
I'm not much of a competitive player. I haven't even registered a Friend Code yet. |
What about Archeops as an alternative to Unfezant? I used Unfezant for about the first 5 or so gym badges, then I switched over because Unfezant just wasn't cutting it. Archeops is awesome... as long as he doesn't get attacked because his defence isn't super high, his attack makes up for it though.
|
Quote:
Defeatist cuts Archeops' offensive power if it takes too many hits. Nice design but hate it. |
Swoob at has done amazing for everyone in my family with BW, we've tried sigilyph and it just doesn't work as well.
|
Quote:
Archeops @ Choice Band/Flying Gem/Muscle Band/Life Orb Acrobatics Rock Slide/Stone Edge Earthquake Protect/U-Turn/Quick Guard |
Quote:
You can't exactly say you hate it because of its ability when you haven't even used it yet. Archeops is awesome. It doesn't have great HP so like what Snorelacks said, its ability isn't going to be a pain because it probably won't activate. I used one on my White. It was sent in, destroyed everything, then got knocked out. Way better than Unfezant, who could barely give out any damage. I used it on my Black version and it was not very good. Archeops over Unfezant. My brother also used Sigilyph and it worked great for him. I haven't used Swoobat so I can't offer you any advice with him. But seriously? Archeops over Unfezant. |
Quote:
Never using Archeops, It's too risky and I'm not a fan of fossil Pokemon. |
I don't know but if the user doesn't want to use the Pokemon we suggest, then he/she doesn't have to. You can't be upset because he/she thinks ther choice they made is better than the choice you made.
As for the thread creator, I say use Pokemon you like. once you know what Pokemon you want to use, then we could give you a proper rating or an idea for movesets. |
That's too bad...
Have you ever tried using an earlier generation's Flying-Type like Staraptor, Swellow, or Skarmory? I'd put in Aerodactyl but you don't like fossil Pokemon... Quote:

Catch Sandile - Axew - Darumaka - Joltik and Vullaby
From There You Can Have This Team Samurott Surf Megahorn Blizzard or Ice Beam Swords Dance or Revenge Krookodile Earthquake Crunch Outrage or Dragon Claw Brick Break Haxuros Dragon Claw or Dual Chop (they both does the same damege) Earthquake Dragon Dance or Swords Dance (from your choise) Outrage Darmanitan Fire Punch Superpower Rock Slide Flare Blitz Galvantula Discharge Bug Buzz Energy Ball Sucker Punch Mandibuzz Brave Bird Dark Pulse Bone Rush Nasty Plot |
Ok enough about which is better or worse its not competetive battling its ingame all of the pokemon are good otherwise they wouldnt have made them. I say if you like using Unfezant use it bc it's base 105 atk is nothing to shake a stick at. Use Tailwind for speed boosting in case it faints so u can revenge kill. U-Turn out or deal major damage with Acrobatics. Roost off damage, or Facade Status afflictions for boosted STAB damage. Basic as that. You can also pick this pokemon up early so for earl training.
Unfezant Acrobatics Roost/Facade U-Turn Tailwind In Pinwheel forest catch a Sewaddle and evolve it to Swadloon. Train with it there for a happiness boost and find lots of feathers on the bridge to give to it for another happiness boost. When it evloves into Leavanny teach it Swords Dance, Leaf Blade, X-Scissors, and False Swipe. Yes, I said False Swipe, it's ingame and you have top catch other pokemon not just battle so False Swipe is a good move to learn. I'm not saying keep it all the way till the end just until u have your pokemon you want thats all. Leavanny Swords Dance Leaf Blade X-Scissors False Swipe/Aerial Ace/whatever you want Then you can catch Sandile on your way to Nimbasa level it up evolve it and teach it these moves. Dig, Crunch, Retaliate, Sand-Attack or Embargo. To beat Elesa with ease. When it evolves into Krookodile teach it Bulldoze, Crunch, Rockslide, Dragon Claw. Krookodile Bulldoze Crunch Rockslide/Stone Edge Dragon Claw Then beat Clay and go into Chargestone cave where you can choose between Joltik or Tynamo both Electric but joltik has Bug typing and Tynamo has Levitate ability giving it no weaknesses which is great and all but it takes alot of training whereas Joltik doesn't need much training and is fast to boot. I think you would be better off with Joltik/Galvantula. Galvantula's attacks are strong but it wont get its best attack until lv.60 Bug Buzz just use Signal Beam until then. Thunderbolt is strong but just a smidgen stronger than Discharge which has a 30 % chance to paralyze unlike Thunderbolt's 10% its your choice. Volt Switch is a very good move bc if its in on a pokemon you dont want to face Volt Switch out deal damage and get outta there. Gastro Acid is a nice move early on but replace it for Energy Ball later on you wont get the TM until you beat the E4 and go through a gaunlet of trainers. Galvantula Signal Beam/Bug Buzz Discharge/Thunderbolt Voltswitch Gastro Acid/Energy Ball Last pokemon is Litwick which evolves into Chandelure. Shadow Ball is self-explanitory, Flamethrower, Psychic, Confuse Ray. Good movesets and confuse Ray hits 100% for confusion, u cant argue with that. Chandelure Shadow Ball Flamethrower Psychic Confuse Ray/Energy Ball Your starter is the basis of your pokemon this team is terrible against rock thats where Samurott comes in. Surf, Megahorn, Grass Knot, Revenge. Replace Revenge for Ice Beam ASAP unless you cant go without it. Megahorn hits way harder than X-Scissors and its accuracy is usable. Grass Knot is for Water/Ground types. Samurott Surf Megahorn Grass Knott Revenge/Ice Beam Yes its weak to rock, yes Stone Edge is available for most pokemon to use but they wont get to use it they wont live long enough to use it. And there wont be any LATE game training when you catch them they can be used for the next gym you are about to face so it will gain its levels there. hope this helps. |
Quote:
And don't expect me using Haxorus as I rarely use Dragon-types... |
If you are going to post a thread then you must at least be open to what we say you can't ask for help and then blow off everything we say. The reason we give our opinions is bc we as a community have already used the the pokemon and already know how they stack up in the game and mt post was about how you could get all the types you needed through out the game without having to seriously grind any pokemon on weaker pokemon in the wild and everybody in the team would be even. But, if you are set in stone about the pokemon you use then Zebstrika should be about 4-5 levels over any pokemon that you want to beat, ex. against the E4 theirs are about 50ish make sure your Zebstrika is about 60 for it to actually do anything, as for elektross it has bulk so it can withstand attacks and deal some major attacks and galvantula may not take too many hits but it is fast enough to deal some major damage.
If you choose Zebstrika FlameCharge Spark/WildCharge(when it learns WildCharge) ThunderWave Stomp |

Quote:
But keep finding some combinations! If you need to find a good combination, I suggest Marriland's Team Builder. |

Anyways, I'll just throw in my 2 cents or so. http://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen5/blackwhite_animated_front/503.gif http://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen5/blackwhite_animated_front/521.gif http://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen5/blackwhite_animated_front/609.gif http://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen5/blackwhite_animated_front/561.gifhttp://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen5/blackwhite_animated_front/596.gif http://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen5/blackwhite_animated_front/584.gif I went with your idea of keeping Samurott, Unfezant and Chandelure. But, may I suggest using Sigilyph? It's more of the offensive side, but if you wish, you can just stick with Gothitelle who is a special defense wall. Galvantul$a is a more appropriate choice over Zebstrika. Even though its slightly slower than the zebra, Compoundeyes gives a lethal Thunder plus its immune to Ground and has a great Sp. Atk(only 3 points higher than Zebstrika's Atk). And it has brilliant type coverage with Bug. I presume you're gonna have a bit of a tough time with the last gym since you don't use Dragon types so Ice-types like Vanilluxe come in chillin' the zone. High Sp. Atk and its ability comes useful in hail, which allows you to abuse Blizzard. It can also learn Flash Cannon to remove Rock. All the Pokemon can be easily obtained. Vanillite at Cold Storage, so you have ample training time before you reach Opelucid. Joltik at Chargestone Cave (where Tynamo is, but you didn't like it so...) and Sigilyph at the Desert Resort. :3 I don't know whether I listed some that you dislike, but oh well, you asked and so you shall receive. ;; |
I think this is the best team to have
Samurott Krookodile Leavanny Chandelure Gigalith Sigilph Krookodile has two great abilities: Moxie and Intimidate. Chandelure´s Sp.Atk is very high. Leavanny is hard to get or you must capture an Sewaddle in Pinwheel Forest. Gigalith has high Attack and Defense, and Sturdy comes in handy if they try to knock you down in 1 hit. Samurott is pretty strong (althrough i chose Tepig as starter) The last you may fill in but i chose for Sigilph. |
Quote:
|
Then Catch A Tynamo In Chargestone Cave and I Forgot You Need A Fighting Type So I Suggest Mienfoo
For Eelektross Movesets I Suggest These Moves Thunderbolt/Wild Charge Flamethrower Dragon Claw and Crunch As A Filler For Mienshao I Suggest These Moves Aura Sphere/Hi Jumb Kick Acrobatics U-Turn Fake Out |
Quote:
And it's easy to gain experience by knocking out lots of Audino. |
What do you like then? it seems like every time someone gives you a suggestion, you say "No, I don't like x types" or "I hate x appearance" and "I don't like that attack." We're only trying to help you here and it could be a lot easier if you choose what Pokémon you like, then enter them into a team builder.
- List of Unova Pokémon - Team Builder Now I'm going to post a suggestion here, with movesets. Before reading, just note that yeah, there are 2 water types (one is half Ground). But that isn't a problem. Just plug the team into the link above and you'll see that there are no obvious weaknesses. http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/503.gif - Razor Shell - Dragon Tail - Megahorn [Move Relearner] - Aerial Ace / Aqua Jet / Giga Impact / Return You basically just want physical moves for him. Razor Shell is his signature move, Dragon Tail causes switching, Megahorn is awesome, and the last slot is your preference. http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/530.gif - Earthquake - Rock Slide - X-Scissor - Return / Swords Dance / Shadow Claw Excadrill is beast. You can't say he sucks until you try him. You'll be surprised: this guy rocks. You want EQ - you don't need a TM - and a bunch of other physical moves. Take your pick. http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/561.gif - Air Slash - Psychic - Charge Beam - Ice Beam / Shadow Ball / Energy Ball / Flash Cannon / Cosmic Power Your flying type, and special attacker. Air Slash and Psychic give you STAB, which means more powerful moves. Charge Beam raises your special attack. The last one is just a filler. http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/606.gif - Psychic / Psyshock - Thunderbolt / Charge Beam - Shadow Ball - Energy Ball Psychic type attacker, for fighting types. Psyshock is for physical damage, Psychic is standard. Thunderbolt and the rest are for coverage. OR you could use Musharna: http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/518.gif - Calm Mind - Psychic - Charge Beam - Shadow Ball / Energy Ball / Gyro Ball Use Gyro Ball only if your Musharna's nature is Sassy, Relaxed, or Quiet to maximize its power. Sassy boosts Special Defense, Relaxed boosts Defense, Quiet boosts Special Attack. http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/553.gif - Earthquake - Foul Play - Dragon Claw / Outrage - Stone Edge Yup, another physical attacker. Pretty much explains itself. Dragon Claw for less power, but not getting locked into it. Yeah. http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/596.gif - Thunderbolt / Thunder / Electro Ball - Signal Beam / Bug Buzz - Energy Ball - Volt Switch / Thunder Wave / Agility Last one. Thunder for more power, and TBolt is standard. Signal Beam until you get Bug Buzz, Energy Ball for another moveslot done, and Volt Switch for switching. Or if paralyzing is your style, use TWave. Or, also a possibility, use Agility instead of Volt Switch/TWave and Electro Ball instead of Thunder/TBolt - raise your speed and then smack with a powered up Electro Ball. BTW, he is much, much better than Zebstrika. Hope this helps. Probably made some mistakes and such there so someone can correct me, I don't mind. |
