reviewing: BISHARP http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-bw/icon/625.png

to me, Bisharp always looked like one of them Ninjas. XD;
i've to say i'm no expert on Bisharp, as i never used it in battles before. i do think it's a very decent pokémon. the design reminds me a bit of Scyther/Scizor (and also a bit of Weavile), especially their pokédex entry:

didn't that happen to our friend Scyther in the anime, too? XD;

i have to say i like its moves, though.. and its Attack stat is quiite decent, too.
all you have to watch out for is a FIGHTINGtype-pokémon.. 4x damage might hurt.

all in all, i give it an 8 / 10.

What? Only two posts since my last post? That won't do!
Due to the fact we only got one review for Bisharp since the last two weeks, Bisharp will still remain the Pokemon for this week.

Might as well add a new topic along with the latest one.
Who is your favorite Steel type leader?

Townes July 17th, 2011 7:54 AM

Bisharp
Totally amazing design. Fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. It's also based on a chess piece, and as I am a chess nut, that also added brownie points for the Sharp Sword Pokemon. In-game, as long as it's supported by a good flying Pokemon, it has always proven extremely useful. It got me through three of the Elite Four single handed, barred only by Marshal, who was defeated by the aforementioned supporting Flying-type. With a beastly Attack stat, I used a combination of Night Slash, X-Scissor, Shadow Claw and Sword's dance to crush those puny Psychic and Ghost types. But it's severe weakness to the excessively common Fighting type has somewhat limited my usage of it- but when it has been used, it has always performed outstandingly. I can't speak for it in competitive battling as I have never used it in such an arena, but I think it would be less effective there, due to the prevalence of Fighting and Ground-types as major offensive Pokemon, but in having the (unique) typing of Steel and Dark, it resists the critical types of Psychic, Dragon, and Ice, whilst being very good against Psychic and my personal hated enemies, Ghost-types. So, overall-
Design, 10/10
In-game, 8/10
Competitive- (Speculated) 7/10
Overall, 8.3/10

My favourite Steel Leader... Well, if Steven of Hoenn counts, then it's him. He's just so... Epic. But other than that, Byron is just a bit rugged and crude-looking. It may be ironic for a Steel-type user to say this, (I base my usage of Steel-types around the graceful and deadly Samurai, and combine them with Poison and Dark-types for a homage to Ninjas) but he's just so inelegant and crude. Jasmine's definitely the more preferable of the two.

Sorry I was inactive last week, I was on work experience and had to stay with my technophobic grandparents ^^;

looks like my review was beaten. XD;

anyway, for the topic..
FAVE ICEtype LEADER?
... yeah. i have to agree with what you said tho. Steven is just the absolute epicest STEELtype user. if not the epicest trainer, period. XD;

as for the actual gym leaders.. honestly i don't like either one too much..
Jasmine is just.. or well, she seemed too shy and insecure i don't agree with that kind of thing for users of the STEELtype. but that's just me, i just don't like her much. somehow. whatever.
tho i do like her looks.
.... and well, Byron is too cliché. XD;

Who is your favorite Steel type leader?

Jasmine.

Me @ forgot about this :(.

Spinosaurus August 5th, 2011 8:24 PM

I'm gonna answer the last two topics. Giving up on the Review a steel type poke thing for now. :<
Which Steel type Pokemon look best in shiny?
Durant. I think it has a very nice shiny but I don't know why. :<
Who is your favorite Steel type leader?
Yeah I'm counting Steven. He is my favorite champion and type specialist, so I'm going with him. :P

I was kind of thinking about this for a while, so...
Do you think Steel should be super effective on Dragon types?
People slay Dragons with Swords. Swords is forged with steel or w/e. Also, knights wear steel armor. You know where I'm going with this right? xD

Do you think Steel should be super effective on Dragon types?

Yes. Then they would not be broken as hell.

olih August 16th, 2011 3:31 AM

I'd like to join.
Partners: Orange the Metagross and Dialga
I have an imaginary Metagross friend named Orange who follows me around and helps with my math homework~ :P

Review for Bisharp:
It's okay. I honestly think it's kind of creepy, but that's just my messed up opinion. I haven't used it in battle though, but from its appearance it looks like its Attack would be good. The Fighting type weakness should be watched out for, though.
Who is your favorite Steel type leader?
Steven. He's AWESOME. Do I need to elaborate? Plus he's handsome ^_^
As for a Gym leader, I'd say Byron. True, he's cliche, but Jasmine's too insecure and 'fragile' for the Steel type.

Game Over1375 August 17th, 2011 5:51 PM

I wish to join up in this group. For partners, I want a shiny Metagross named Calybias and a Ferrothorn named Hera.

Top Five Steel Pokemon:
1) Ferrothorn
2) Metagross
3) Escavalier (FORGET YOU SCIZOR!)
4) Durant
5) Aggron

Anyways, onwards to the discussion at hand.

Bisharp

For once, look out Scizor. You just might have competition when it comes to coolest Steel-type Pokemon ever. Bisharp design emphasizes something that you should be scared to touch, since it is so sharp. Maybe it is that glint in its eyes that causes you to not go near him... Either be the case, this is a Pokemon that should be feared.

With its key resistances to Dragon- and Ghost-type Pokemon, I expect Bisharp to have an effective impact on the competitive aspect of Pokemon. Sure, Fighting- types might have a field day with him, but if you know how to set up a Swords Dance and use Sucker Punch, Iron Head, or Brick Break, you shouldn't have much problems. Let's not forget this Pokemon may also be the answer to a certain Pokemon known as Reuniclus.

Overall, I expect Bisharp to be the next Scizor. Great design, good typing, decent movepool, I deem him worthy of anyone looking for a Ghost- or Psychic-type counter.

While he is not in my top five favorite Steel-types, he is in the top ten, and thus I am proud to give Bisharp a 4/5.

Who is your favorite Steel type leader?
Steven. 'Nuff said. Forget Jasmine and Byron.

Do you think Steel should be super effective on Dragon types?
Hmm... I don't think so. I do agree that Dragons shouldn't be able to damage Steel-types too much, but I disagree on being super-effective on Dragons. A sword might not be able to kill ALL dragons afterall.

TY August 17th, 2011 11:41 PM

i´d like to join this group cause i love Steel type Pokemon.
my top 5 is
1.Excadrill (my best Steel-Pokemon)
2.Bisharp (he looks just badass)
3.Registeel (favorite Steel-Legend)
4.Aggron (pure badass)
5.Escavalier (why not??)

Spinosaurus August 18th, 2011 12:22 AM

Welcome to all of you! :] I'll add you all to the member list eventually.
Seems like a lot of people are fans of Steven. I'm not surprised, though, he is the Hoenn champion after all.
I never really knew Bisharp was this popular. I'm really glad, however, since I love it so much. :>

I'm gonna think of something to make this club active, but I know it'll take me a while. So how about a simple topic for now?
Your favorite Steel type move?
Gyro Ball for me, definitely. Seeing as speed is very important to Pokemon Gyro Ball is extremely deadly, especially if used by slow steel types like Forretress, Ferroseed and Bronzong. It alos really love how it looks in the anime.

olih August 18th, 2011 1:22 AM

Flash Cannon, for me. It's a fairly powerful move, no negative side effects, etc. Plus, it looks really cool, and Dialga can learn it (yes, it always has to be related to Dialga).

TY August 18th, 2011 1:27 AM

my favourite would be Doom Desire because it´s Jirachi´s signatue move and it looks great

champagnepapi August 18th, 2011 1:30 AM

Your favorite Steel type move?

Bullet Punch. It kills a ton of stuff, has a cool name, and doesn't kill Gliscor, allowing me to wall Scizor. B)

Game Over1375 August 18th, 2011 10:16 PM

Your favorite Steel type move?
Bullet Punch IS awesome, but I have to say Meteor Mash. I mean come one! Te signature move of Metagross is AWESOME!

ナギ August 21st, 2011 4:33 AM

ohai tharz. it's been some time, hasn't it.
anyway, for the topiccccc

FAVE STEELMOVE?
um.. that's a hard one. i think i'll go with IronTail, lol. i used to never use STEELtype pokemon in my team at all, and even now i think it's useful. for some reason i never had problems with the low Accuracy either..
that and i'm loving IronTail on my re-playthrough of Pokemon Colosseum XD;

wellthen, that'll do :3
