Did you notice how most of them sound the same?
Is it just me, or do lots of the new Pokemon sound close to the same???
Do you mean their cries? Because if so, I definitely don't agree. I mean, compare Seismitoad to Maractus to Garbodor to pretty much any Pokemon. Cries are one thing that this Generation did entirely right. Every one pretty much is unique and fitting to its species, and doesn't sound like just a bunch of random sounds like other gens.
Agreed with Toujours.
tbh, a lot of them are really memorable, too. Unlike in other generations, when they aren't. Only thing is for the evolution lines a few you'd think are the same, for example, Pidove and Tranquill, when I think about their cries, they sound almost exactly the same in my head. Though on the other hand, Thundurus has a pretty awesome cry, since it does make me think of actual thunder. Stunfisk by far has the worst cry, though. Poor, poor, Stunfisk. And Tympole? It sounds tropical or something along those lines. XD But yeah these cries > past gens definitely. |
But if you just think about lots of the new gens pokemon cries they have most of the same noise base- like a higher pitched voices OOOHing. but others cries are very memorable and great. but other gens cries sound alot the same too- just think of the hardware they had to work with... and it would be dumb to change the sounds of older pokemon cries.
But all in all, I LOVE POKEMON and that only matters! |
lmao everyone actually had a pretty unique cry. I mean, if you play a Gen I Pokemon against a Gen V Pokemon in B/W, you get this short little 8-bit beeping and then an orchestra of mp3 noises.
yes they are all unique but just listen to the base sound from each gen. dont do gen jumping because then you will notice a big difference in base sound in their cries but listen to a bunch from one and go to another and listen and so on because each gen has a specific base sound, just tweaked a little and you have cries.
A few of them are actually pretty similar, and similarish to some gen 4 pokes, but overall a lot were pretty darn good. I really like the garbled gen 1/2 cries though :p Porygon always had an awesome cry.
Stunfisk, trubbish/garbodor and skuntank definitely...have interesting cries...to say the least. |
None of them sound the same to me tbh o3o
None of them except the elemental monkeys sound the same to me. And even then, the effect applied is different.
None of them sound similar to me.
Maybe a few are similar, but that's just a few. :3 |
It must be me then... I must pay too much attention to base noise.
I thought they got rid of the base noise last gen?
base noise is a basic noise they tweak and add other noises to make a cry
I doubt that they sound the same due to the new improvements of technology which gives the Pokemon company more noises in which they can make. This isn't the first generation when certain Pokemon (like Charizard and Rhyhorn) sounded the same.

I think they all sound so different. I remember them very easily.
