Charmander and charizard are not on for a reason, arbok is based off of a cobra, ekans is a baby snake, swinub is a baby pig, piloswine is a maybe, Marowak IS up there already, idk about seviper, that an be discussed further along with piloswine, yanma and maybe tangela

my favorite gen fossils would have to be Kanto's (though I think you can turn them into pokemon far further along in the game then the others) I always liked Kabutops, Aerodactyl, and Omastar

Squirrel September 24th, 2011 2:53 PM

So who fancies a new topic to put some life back into this fossilized group?

If you could have one pre-historic partner in your every day life, which would you choose and why?
I'd choose Mamoswine. Picture this: You're walking down the road and "OH LOOK, HERE COMES A GUY RIDING A MASSIVE MAMMOTH!" I think that's enough of a reason on it's own, but they're also such cool pokemon! You could snuggle up to it when cold, you could get it to cool you down when hot, you could use it to move/break big things... The possibilities are endless! Now where to keep this thing...

Ciax September 27th, 2011 2:11 AM

Tropius!
For the simple fact that I would have free and unlimited bannanas, over here in Australia bannas are about $7 each because of the january floods and cyclones. And I love bannas. Also he could fly me anywhere

Squirrel September 27th, 2011 6:48 AM

Haha, that would be a pretty cool partner! Thinking about it, do you have any idea what Tropius is actually based on? :s

brontosaurus?

to topic. mine would have to be rhydon. i would be playing with him and riding it all day :)
also we'd hit up the beach and surf it up. rhydon does surf you know. water doesnt hurt it. unless its coming 200mph straight out of blastoise's barrels :surprised:

or marowak. me and him would be getting in all sorts of trouble lol.

Squirrel September 28th, 2011 3:56 AM

A brontosaurus that grows bananas from its neck...? xD
Hehe, a Rhydon would be pretty cool - though I still never managed to understand why it can surf over the water, and yet a couple tiny bubbles shot by a Poliwag are 4 times effective... :p *Loves the Blastoise image* x3
Ohhh, Marowak would be so cool! I never thought of that one. Imagine how much fun bone frisbee would be :')

Wouldnt Rhydon sink??
Game Freak dont make too much sense.

rhydon has buoyancy allowing him not to sink :)

Lol! I agree entirely, a Torterra would be insanely cool. Plus don't they give fruit or nuts or something like that? You could also live on it! And use it to climb walls :o

Paha... Where on earth does its buoyancy come from?? It's a massive rock basically! xD I agree with Ciax, they do have some moments of madness. :')

Welcome Lezza, enjoy it here! :) Hehe, that'd be a pretty cool partner too! So which is your favorite fossil Pokemon? :)

New topic: If you could create a new pre-historic pokemon, what would it be based on, what would it look like and what would its fossil be?

Mine personally would be based on the Helicoprion (image below). I'd call it Copricorn as the basic and then Coprihelia as the evolution. It's fossil would be the Whirl Fossil (based on it's whirling teeth) and it'd look similar to the picture below in its final form, but with a larger helix of teeth and more jagged and spiny body. The first form would look similar to a remoraid but bigger, a more jagged body and a dipping bottom lip which is starting to helix. :3

Spinosaurus October 1st, 2011 8:43 AM

We need more prehistoric sharks. I've been wanting a Megalodon based Pokemon for AGES. I could see it as a legendary Pokemon as well, considering that the Megalodon is arguably one of the most dangerous animals. Or maybe make it a Sharpedo evolution. I honestly just want a Pokemon based on one.

Other than that, I'd like to see a Fire/Rock or just pure fire Torvosaurus, since I always find the dinosaur interesting and we need a real theropod. A proper Spinosaurus would've been cool as well.

HyperAggron October 1st, 2011 9:25 AM

I think a spinosaurus with a mountain range on it's back instead of plates would be awesome... I'd call it Roksaur.

Lezza October 1st, 2011 9:47 AM

An evil Dark type Troodon. Ill call it Troodark. It evolves into an Artic Troodon that gets Ice fang.
An ability of Night Vision. get x1.5 Attack and Sp.Atk between 6pm and 6am

Squirrel October 2nd, 2011 6:22 AM

*googles most of these dinosaurs* Woaaahhhhh, I love the idea of the Megalodon pokemon, that'd be ferocious ;o; Not as keen on the Torvosaurus, it's kind of an average every day dinosaur.. Why fire type, out of interest?
The Roksaur idea sounds great too, but kinda reminds me a little of a Digimon that I can't remember its name X3 What typing would you give it?
Nice, Troodark sounds great. Would its evolution gain the Ice type or would it stay as Dark? Also love the unique ability, not enough of those :3

It'd be pure rock. I ran it by a couple people as a rock/dragon type... but not only did the description not fit the typing, it was also mentioned that nobody gets a free dragon, they require some work to obtain.

7Mufasa7 October 3rd, 2011 3:53 PM

on topic:

i like the megalodon one. and i too have been waiting for a megalodon based pkmn.

but if i would have to create one it would be based a eurypterid. brown with red trim. and the fossil would be the poison barb it has on its tail. it would be bug/water type with swift swim ability. and i would give it a massive size like 10-20ft. but lightweight like 300lbs.
and here it is.

Ciax October 5th, 2011 4:26 AM

I have been waiting for this pokemon since the day I was born.

A triceratops pokemon. It would be insanely awesome, probaly plain rock, maybe steel or fighting. It's fossil would be the horn fosiil, maybe something abit better. And it would learn megahorn.

http://blog.webosaurs.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/triceratops.jpg

wouldnt that be rhyhorn/rhydon....???

EDIT
Aggron is more like the triceratops.

Ciax October 5th, 2011 2:39 PM

I think of them as more rhinos, seeing as there names hame rhy in them.
Aggron is maybe a triceratops but it is bipedal and so to me dosent seem much like a triceratops.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm pretty sure Sheildon and Bastiodon are based off a member of the Triceratops family (if they aren't based off triceratops itself)

Squirrel October 5th, 2011 11:18 PM

Hehe! Even so, the Triceratops pokemon Ciax described would be insanely cool. :3 As does Mufassa's eurypterid pokemon, also very cool. o.o

Competition time! Who designed the best new fossil pokemon? (cannot vote your own!)

My vote goes for the eurypterid pokemon, that just sounds amazing. Can you imagine using that? Plus the fossil and typing are both creative and it's not really something that's got any similar pokemon in the game already.

7Mufasa7 October 6th, 2011 10:51 AM

mine would go to the megalodon idea. i want that pokemon so bad now lol.
that thing would rip gyarados and wailords in half lol. :)

alex,
you should be like a co-owner or mod for this club lol. your like the only one that starts new topics xP

Squirrel October 6th, 2011 12:05 PM

Haha, thanks Mufasa x3 Although the group owner hasn't actually posted in over 2 weeks... I don't think anyone's going to be getting anything for a while yet. Although I see Spinosaurus added Lezza to the list of members which is good. :)

Current scores:
- Spinosaurus; 1
- 7Mufasa7; 1
- Everyone else; 0

Spinosaurus October 6th, 2011 12:18 PM

Because the owner is absent, as the co-owner of the club I'm in charge now. Though do forgive my slight inactivity, since I have a lot of other stuff to worry about so I don't have much time posting in PC and what not. (That, and I'm lazy admittedly.)

Voting for the Spinosaurus with a mountain on its back. I'm not being biased here, it's just because I found that awkwardly hilarious.

Quote:

Not as keen on the Torvosaurus, it's kind of an average every day dinosaur.. Why fire type, out of interest?
It's because I saw this:
http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090809165750/dinosaurking/images/archive/2/2d/20090815172128%21Torvosaurus_card.jpg
When I got the card at first I immediately fell in love with this dinosaur.

Squirrel October 8th, 2011 10:36 AM

Ahh wow, that is a pretty cool dinosaur after all. o.o You can so imagine it shrouding itself in fire and blitzing anything in its path...

New topic idea: Where would you find a fossil Pokemon in the modern day world? (if Pokemon were real...)

HyperAggron October 8th, 2011 5:12 PM

Well the fossils would be buried where fossils are now I suppose...

Squirrel October 9th, 2011 2:18 AM

Pahaha, oh yeah... That was a bit thick. xD Although not necessarily, like the Hoenn fossils can't be found in Johto for example (I think?) so they do vary from region to region...

Ciax October 10th, 2011 1:33 AM

Sorta weird topic, think you zoned out for a bit hahaha :D
But I understand what you mean I think. Do you mean like where would the helix fossil be found in our world, or were the claw fossil would be buried. I think its just a case of a wording problem

Heres my list of possibles
Helix Fossil - Omanyte would have lived in oceans and rivers, so underwater in the sand
Dome fossil - In caves near oceans and rivers, from the anime appearance
Old Amber - I reckon around volcanic or hot jungle areas
Claw Fossil - Rivers and forests, it lived on land and water
Root Fossil - About 10 metres from the shore in oceans. Cradily lived in the tides on beaches
Skull Fossil - Jungles like the Amazon, its a T rex
Armor Fossil - Same jungles as Cranidos
Cover Fossil - Beaches? Turtles lay there eggs there
Plume Fossil - Archen would have had nests up on high mountain ridges, so in mountain areas

Most of the fossils seem to be from water, strange

Lezza October 14th, 2011 7:18 AM

I agree With Ciax
I think there is more variety of animals in water so that might be why most of the fossils seem to be found by water

Squirrel October 14th, 2011 7:30 AM

I suppose it's the easiest place to find them, haha. I would expect to find quite a few in jungles though... Like Arecheops is based on an Archeopteryx right? They were flightless jungle dwelling birds... The two Gen IV fossils are obviously jungle dwelling based on their origins... Old Amber would probably be in a volcano or something similar, which is often found in an ancient jungle (in my mind...). So yeah, basically jungles rule! ^^

greg0915 October 14th, 2011 12:47 PM

I would love to see a Raptor based pokemon. Quick with high Atk, like Aerodactyl without wings (in terms of stats)

Hmm, that does sound like a cool Pokemon o.o And those sprites are great! Where'd you find them?

Lezza October 14th, 2011 10:55 PM

I love the sprites.
I might try to make one of the Troodon a made up.

Hi there, welcome to the club! Have a great time here and enjoy your stay! Unfortunately the current owner doesn't seem to check this place anymore, so hopefully a moderator will be by soon to add you to the members list. :) Raikou is a very impressive Pokemon indeed, can you imagine how amazing it would've looked in pre-historic times!? Wow! What do you mean by "mirage tower"?

How about a new topic for some conversation in here?

New topic: 'Which prehistoric Pokemon from the list do you think would be most likely to have existed in the real world?'

Ciax November 18th, 2011 10:23 PM

Probably Rampardos seeing as T-rexes actually did exist. But talking about one that don't exist or haven't been discovered yet I can imagine lapras-like creatures roaming the oceans in the past.

Squirrel November 19th, 2011 5:39 AM

Bare in mind that Rampardos is a T-Rex made of rock? xD Lapras I can definitely imagine having existed though :3

I reckon The Sceptile family would've ruled the jungles, swinging from vines and whatnot~

ShadowTheDarkrai November 19th, 2011 7:30 AM

Rampardos isn't a T-Rex. There are Dinosaurs that have heads like Craniados and Rampardos. I forget what they were called but they butted heads a lot when they were alive.

Hmm, they are all pretty cool! I don't think a couple of those are on the list yet though! We can surely add some of them as they do seem pretty pre-historic, but unfortunately there's no one to update the group at the moment D:

okay first off, I apologize GREATLY for my inactiveness

second, there is a problem with the 4 people that have applied since my last post, all of them have gotten the password wrong, which means they must have not read the rules properly, and i have not changed the password since my last post (but what the hell, i'll add them anyway)

third AlexOzzyCake, i'm offering you the second co-owner spot if you want it, thank you for your help, and thank you all for your activness,

Fourth Cranidos and Rampardos are based off of http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z298/Lotusschwert/Dinosaurs/Pachycephalosaurus.png

and fifth

If you could have one pre-historic partner in your every day life, which would you choose and why
Skeptile, because its just awsome =P

If you could create a new pre-historic pokemon, what would it be based on?
be based on the awsome killer Pliosaur
http://sailorsimon.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/pliosaurone.jpg

would evolve from Lapras, would name it Pliopras (i know not very original) it would be uber >=D so Lapras would evolve at like lvl 65, it would look pretty much the same as the picture, but with jagged spikes made of the same shell on Lapras

Which prehistoric Pokemon from the list do you think would be most likely to have existed in the real world?'

Riakou, Go team Saber Tooth xD

Gonna have to agree with The Last One. Chiko is easily the cutest here. Most of the prehistoric pokemion are cool and intimidating, not cute. There isn't much choice on cute ones.

Hmmm, I partially agree with you there, but what about Pokemon such as Axew and Cubone? They're both pretty cute in my opinion. ^^

cuteness, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder, so therfore, a prehistoric pokemon could be cute to one person but ugly to another

Hii! Thanks for signing up, but unfortunately that's the wrong password to join up with. Please go back and read the rules before editing your post with the correct phrase. :) as for Garchomp, I can see that as being pre-historic in some ways, but I'm not sure how concrete that would be... What makes you suggest its a prehistoric Pokemon? :)

Hellooo, welcome to the club! Great to have another member here. ^^ Interesting choice of partner and Pokemon, what makes you choose Kabutops? And which is your favourite pre-historic Pokemon? :) Hopefully see you around here a lot in the future!

Sweet, thanks for fixing that, I'm sure TheLastOne will add you to the list asap! :) I do agree with you on those points haha, but something like "it walks on two legs" could also apply to it being a human or it being a Kangaroo? xD Interesting ideas though. :)

Oh,wait, I don't know how to do spoilers.

See below for what would be spoiler.
Kabutops is my favourite pre-historic pokemon.

Oh, and is Groudon a pre-historic pokemon here? Just want to make sure I didn't forget.

To do spoilers, write spoiler tags around the text. For example,
Hi there!
becomes
Spoiler:
Hi there!
Hope that helps! In relation top Kabutops, I can understand that being your favourite cute Pokemon, it is a very cool one indeed! And the Water-Rock typing is quite a useful one too. And yes, Groudon is indeed on the list. ^^

Ohhh whoops, my mistake! I meant pre-historic, haha. Although that is also a good point, what makes you like Archen as a cute pre-historic Pokemon so much? ^^ Personally I think it's adorable too, but I'm just curious lol

That's true, but bear in mind its ability! That should surely take away from its total stats, should it not? :p

Whilst I remember...
