I'm definitely getting hard copies. I just like having the actual physical copy of the game as well - also for collection purposes.

machomuu September 28th, 2013 8:56 AM

47

It depends for me. I was definitely like that before, and I do like having things for the sake of collection...but I've been building a digital collection as well, and it's become something of a treasure for me. Most of my 3DS games are retail, but I have around 50 games installed on my 3DS, full games being Monster Hunter, Fire Emblem, Pokemon Rumble, and Animal Crossing.

So it all depends now.

Just back after beating Fantasy Dating Simulator of Fires and Emblems: Awakening.
Only took me 53 bloody hours.

...It sure has gotten late. I could swear the sun was out when I started playing.

Twilight-kun September 28th, 2013 11:12 AM

49

A dating sim took you 53 hours?

wat

Pokestick, good times. September 28th, 2013 11:20 AM

50

Okay, calling it a dating sim might be a bit inaccurate.

More like a "pair characters together who have nothing to do with each other and go 'now kiss, because I want your son to have galeforce' and then watch them fall in love in your barracks"-sim.

Twilight-kun September 28th, 2013 11:22 AM

Drugs, knockout gas, one crazy night and then wait 9 months, works for me well enough

Pokestick, good times. September 28th, 2013 11:25 AM

52

Trying out the English voices for this game now.

Wow, they can't even decide on how to pronounce Chrom. And what did they do to poor Lissa? ;_;

Twilight-kun September 28th, 2013 11:27 AM

53

Gotta botch 'em all

oops, wrong series...

machomuu September 28th, 2013 11:33 AM

54

Nine months? More like a couple minutes.

I played the game all the way through in English, no problems there. It has the New-Age VAs that replace the New-Old Age VAs like Laura Bailey, Liam O'Brien, and Yuri Lowenthal, and that's a bit disappointing, but I think the voices are spot on. I just wish Christopher Sabat had played Frederick instead, it would have been a perfect match :/

Twilight-kun September 28th, 2013 11:39 AM

55

I'll stick with my games of questionable adult taste

Pokestick, good times. September 28th, 2013 11:59 AM

56

I guess it's mostly how they altered the character's personalities and way of speaking.
Sumia sounds weirdly confident, Chrom sounds like a generic action hero, etc. I'm just not used to it after going through the whole thing and getting to know the characters in Nipponese.

The localization added a lot of modern one-liners, too. :(

Oh, FE has its fair share of controversy as well, Twilight. :P

Twilight-kun September 28th, 2013 12:00 PM

58

I doubt they have any outright pornographic scenes though

never played FE, I got hooked on Golden Sun first

although Roy and Marth in Melee are somewhat overpowered

machomuu September 28th, 2013 12:02 PM

57

You don't like the modern one-liners? I thought it was appropriate (and laugh-out-loud humorous at times), especially considering the game's chronological position in the series.

Twilight-kun September 28th, 2013 12:07 PM

59, Fifty-Nine

HOORAY FOR WITTY ONE-LINERS THAT STILL DON'T PICK UP CHICKS

machomuu September 28th, 2013 12:12 PM

60

Speaking of Roy, we never got his game in the West. I wanna know why he does 'splodey things.

Twilight-kun September 28th, 2013 12:13 PM

61

Because he's crazy?

Who cares

Not very good at the Homerun thing though

machomuu September 28th, 2013 12:17 PM

62

*Shrugs* I liked the FE characters in Melee, Marth used to be my favorite Melee character. Still use him a lot in Brawl.

But I expect a 3DS Sealed Sword remake. Roy's only been in one game, and FE has good stories, so it needs to happen.

Pokestick, good times. September 28th, 2013 12:29 PM

63

But in this one scene in Japanese Sumia was all like "H-hang on! I've got you", yet in English she cockily made an air plane joke. ;_;

That's strange on so many levels.

Okay, this takes place thousands of years after the previous games, but birch I ain't seein' no gosh darn air planes.

Gotta protect my status as a super serious games who plays this super serious game.

machomuu September 28th, 2013 12:32 PM

64

Oh, right! You played the European version, correct? That got a different localization than the US. I'm not sure there are differences throughout, though, but they are different.

Pokestick, good times. September 28th, 2013 1:06 PM

65

It did?

Interesting. I wonder what's so culturally different between Americans and Europeans/Aussies that they had to change it.

Netto Azure September 28th, 2013 2:10 PM

66

For some reason, I couldn't get the Japanese Voice Acting to stick and it kept reverting to the English VA's after a while.

Pokestick, good times. September 28th, 2013 2:20 PM

67

That's rather strange indeed.

Netto Azure September 28th, 2013 2:25 PM

68

I'm tempted to replay the game, but I don't want to lose all my bby's

alisaie September 28th, 2013 3:59 PM

69.

have you used all three file slots? if not then just use one of the other two files slots :b
I had that japanese thing happen to me as well. though it did cause my sister to watch one of the cutscenes in japanese instead of english with was pretty hilarious ngl.

pompayyy September 28th, 2013 4:36 PM

70. I have no idea what's goin on
