Of course, being in Charlotte, most every one of my buddies are Panthers fans.

We've been quite disappointed lately, for obvious reasons. Epsecialy last season... that was pitiful for us, lol

Sweet Candace December 16th, 2011 9:37 AM

I live so close to Philadelphia and I have to deal with when the Eagles win. But when they lose, I make sure to rub their defeat in their fans' faces.

Espeically if they lose to the Cowboys. ;)

I wish I could have had some of you sports-minded people with me last night for pub trivia. There was a whole section of sports questions, which is totally unfair for someone like me.

Meganium December 16th, 2011 11:52 AM

I love being the *only* Steelers fan here in my current town. :)

Sweet Candace December 16th, 2011 12:08 PM

I hate Pittsburgh. Their fans aren't as obnoxious as Eagle fans are, but they can get pompous and obnoxious.

They may have 6 titles, but they won 5 fair and square. (SB XL, they totally paid the refs off.)

Best part about the trailer for the third Batman movie - Bane blows up Hienz Field during a football game with actual Steelers players. Trolol.

The team that's really starting to get my goat now with the way they play is the Detroit Lions. Ridiculously dirty play.

I know zero about sports of any sort, but I do know that, living in Cincinnati as I do, everyone hates the Steelers. Apparently Bengals fans consider them their rivals, though they're probably just jelly that the Steelers have won the Super Ultimate Football Cup thing and they haven't.

You want to know how backwards my town is? During the Civil War, we SIDED WITH THE CONFEDERACY. Abolitionists and Union sympathizers were excommunicated from churches, shunned in the community, and possibly even driven from town. Yeah...

Maybe the way they decide the questions is by asking a teenager they know if they've heard of something or know something, and if they haven't heard of it or don't answer correctly they add it to the trivia questions. :P

My mistake. I thought wrong then. And, LOL @ Snoopy fighting pizza.

I thought it was the Red Baron, but I guess I'm wrong.

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ December 18th, 2011 7:41 AM

The problem I have with Red Baron (and all frozen pizza) is that I'm allergic to the cheese and that cheese is a pain to take off those pizzas so I can eat them. When I order from a delivery place, at least I can request that they don't put the cheese on it so I can eat it.

Yeah, pizza without cheese is weird, but when you have allergies, sometimes you need to improvise...

Mr Cat Dog December 18th, 2011 8:32 AM

I've got a friend who, while not being allergic to cheese, takes the cheese off every pizza he eats. We used to give him so much abuse for it when he was younger, but now it's just become an accepted quirk in his personality. He was a very picky eater when he was younger, which has sort of changed as he's gotten older.

Blizz December 18th, 2011 8:52 AM

I love cheese! But only pizza I eat is pepperoni pineapple or something like that. And yeah, I think Finns are only who eats pizza with pineapple.

Pineapple pizza, Xeberos? I've eaten it once, in a 'prestigious' restaurant, two years ago. They consider it a delicacy for some reason, but I consider it meh.

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ December 19th, 2011 5:41 AM

I'm not one for exotic toppings on pizza. Sauce and one kind of meat is usually enough for me and is how I order it.

With that said, I haven't had pizza since leaving college. Nobody delivers to the isolated wasteland where we live :/

Mr. X December 19th, 2011 6:12 AM

I've been wanting to try pizza with pineapples on it for a while now.

My local store stocks Hawaiian pizza. It has pineapple and... either ham or Canadian bacon on it. Its a pizza for one, and its $5. It's a good brand and high quality pizza, but I can't justify spending $5 for a pizza for one when I can get another pizza for one for just $1. I know, I'm cheap.

Legendary Silke December 19th, 2011 7:57 AM

I'm not sure what I'm getting for christmas..my sister is still young so my parents like to keep our gifts a secret. I didn't really ask for anything, though. Just a book (The Girl Who Played With Fire...the first one was great and I can't wait for the movie), some Boston sports attire, and maybe a laptop. I didn't really specify what kind I wanted so I don't think I'll get one. I don't really care, though. :p

Any of you give gag gifts? Me and a group of friends give each other gag gifts every year. I'm not going to mention the ones I got last year, so don't even bother asking.

I've got a couple already decided on. You ever see that demotivational poster about e-bay? You know, the one about it being cheaper for a reason? Yeah. A friend of mine got a 3ds, and he is very careful opening stuff so the box it came it was in perfect condition. I have a gbc and thats going inside and getting wrapped up for my video game obsessed friend. I even wrote 'E-bay, its cheaper for a reason' inside the box. I'm doing the same thing for another friend, except with a game. Brand new copy of black. Box in perfect condition, except the game is some used Barbie game that I got at gamestop.

I don't like to use the same idea twice in a row, but this one is worth it. I bought a box of Justin Bieber trading cards last year (They were on discount, and they were, imo, funny as hell.) and used some of them for gag gifts. I planned on selling the rest, but I forgot about them. Found them about a month ago and I'll be gifting them to a yugioh obsessed friend of mine. I got a empty booster box to pack them in.

A bible. I'll burn in hell for this, im sure, but I'm giving that as a gag gift. A friend of mine is a satanist and that was the first idea I had. I'd try to arrange for a religious person to visit him and attempt to get him to convert on Christmas but the only one I knew who would have seen the humor in this moved.

Anyway, i've still got a couple people that need gag gifts.

One is obcessed with all kinds of anime, has a orangish-red afro, is straight and dislikes gays, and is a closet pervert. The first idea I had was give him yaoi anime but I keep thinking that there is something else that would be even better.

The other is the most hyperactive midget to exist. He's 17, 4'3, and completely insane. He plays lots of video games, but prefers RTS. First idea I had was stilts but I used that idea last year. It was funny, but not funny enough to be worth doing again.

Livewire December 19th, 2011 9:55 PM

Gift cards are pretty much the easiest way to give for someone that has a hard time deciding what they want (my older sister for example) . I've yet to buy her one though, but I will!

Phantom December 19th, 2011 10:49 PM

A cool thing I used to do was get something that the person and I can do together, like movie tickets or something. Good times and memories are better than money.

Though sometimes money is pretty ok too. :P

Blizz December 19th, 2011 10:54 PM

Truality December 20th, 2011 2:11 AM

"Aww! How cute! You got me some money!". What the hell man. Is that supposed to be a Christmas gift?

Then again, I haven't got X-mas gifts for years, so I should just keep silent and watch.

Nihilego December 20th, 2011 4:42 AM

Money is the best gift, lol. Why get you something you might like when they can get you money and allow you to get yourself something you will like?

Yoshikko December 20th, 2011 6:18 AM

That might be true, but I feel like in the end it doesn't really matter whether you like what you get or not, but about how that person thought about you and picked something for you. That alone should be enough to make you like the object you get, because it becomes personal. Money is just money.

Because I have a lowly opinion about money, and because as you said, I will use it to satisfy myself. When I receive a gift, I don't expect to get something to satisfy me, I expect to get something that will have a meaning coming from the person giving it to me.
If I receive money, it's like they're telling me to 'do whatever you want.'

And I agree with Yoshikkko.

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ December 20th, 2011 7:55 AM

I'd rather get money rather than some oddball gift that I'll never use anyway. I can't count how many tacky talking singing Christmas ornaments I've gotten... Or DVDs of movies that I have absolutely no interest in watching.

Besides it's not like I can tell my relatives that I'd really rather get anime... they wouldn't even know what it is or where to start looking for it.

So I'll gladly take the money any day. Anything I can use to bulk up my bank account is appreciated.

Sweet Candace December 20th, 2011 8:02 AM

If I could get anything, I'd want gift cards so I could buy something I'd want and use instead of getting something I'd may never use...

Livewire December 20th, 2011 9:32 AM

I like actually having a gift I can open on Christmas morning, always have. Something to play with or something I can just mess around with like a Phone or an Ipod. XD

Morkula December 20th, 2011 9:43 AM

I'm the same as Nick...actual gifts are so much nicer than gift cards or money. There's more thought put into gifts, and it's just a lot more fun to have something you can use or fiddle around with right then instead of go buy later.

Shiny Celebi December 20th, 2011 5:37 PM

I was going to get my sister a gift card to Target originally, but when out christmas shopping last week I found these coffee mugs that I thought she'd like alot more, so I just bought them. She'd enjoy a gift card too, but I agree the gift I bought her was more thoughtful.

donavannj December 20th, 2011 6:08 PM

I get what depending on what they give. If they give gift cards, I'll give 'em a gift card. If they take the time to get me a hand-selected or special gift, I'll do the same for them. People rarely change how they treat Christmas, so this system's been workin' for me.

Now, if only I could get a new scarf...

I've bought one present today and it's for my 2 year old nephew. No one else told me what they wanted as a gift. This bugs me sooo much! My family doesn't seem to care.

My big brother is too broke this month but he's mad that his girlfriend is still spending money they don't have. Grabbing that charge card. :B Is it okay to go all out on Christmas for the little ones? Don't know...

Then just leave it. They probably would rather that you save your money and help secure your future a bit more. That's how my parents feel - they actually get angry when I buy them gifts, haha.

Yeah, I'd be mad with her too. She's a fool for using it, because it'll only cost them more in the end.

If you have the money and have no qualms on engaging in soulless consumerism, go for it! :D
