Well, I'll definitely read it. And analyze it. *twitch*.

Impo September 23rd, 2011 12:26 AM

I shall read it too :D .
...I've been wanting a PC blog for a while,
but I don't think I'm allowed to donate to PC :x

I tried in the blog event of the GT8, but I think I came second to last :s

Ho-Oh September 23rd, 2011 12:33 AM

People who won that contest didn't even get blogs afaik.

B/W should have another blogging event. :3; SINCE THAT ONE GOT BLOGS FOR PEOPLE.

Any sort of federal financial aide? Not sure how Canada does that.

Unfortunately some states (if not all) cut education loans/ funds from students this year. My boyfriend was lucky in that he only had to wait a while extra to receive his student loan, although he had to put the deposit for classes/ dorm on credit card before he received it. Everything is sorted now.. but I could just imagine how disastrous it would be for someone without credit. I wonder if you can apply for a separate bank account without having to have your mom/parents cosign.. or invest in a simple $25 or so locked moneybox/safe that you can hide out in the garden/dig up in your yard >_> Where you can sneak cash in.. @[email protected] I'm always paranoid about that kind of stuff so I would invest in a personal safe. For example.. I have a fireproof/waterproof safe that I store some of my important data in (burned DVDs, external HDD, some portable usbs)

Team Fail, I hope you can try to find some more bursaries and other ways to make your way into school. Either way I wish you all the best; and if you have to take a couple years off to work and save again, please don't feel disheartened. I feel like as long as you have ambition and a willingness to work towards it, you'll reach your personal goals :3 I know it's not much but I'll be rooting for you and you have my kindest regards.

Referring to the Unova's Autumn Festival, right? It was a surprise that there can be multiple winners back then! :P

(I seem to be liking these smilies :))

Mix up? I wonder what you are referring to? I forgot stuff pretty quickly.

vaporeon7 September 23rd, 2011 6:23 AM

I didn't win but I was close to it and my name got put onto the blog receivers list by mistake, then Jake let me keep the blog. :)

Well, all the better :):) Consider that there was an extra winner... Ahahahaha XD

You know, people around here are really nice, and perhaps for a very good reason! :P

Yep, and now that my lovely pair, donated for me, it's all good anyways.

Also we should totally start a mass convo on the irc.

Mass conversations in the IRC? Hmm... I might actually like that.

Shiny Celebi September 23rd, 2011 6:37 AM

I would like a blog here so I may donate sometime.

Or, if you're lucky, win it in a contest. I hope there's something coming up in the pipeline!

Alley Cat September 23rd, 2011 6:44 AM

Haha. Blog. That's something that I haven't done in a good while. I think it would be interesting to start one again. So... I might donate or something in the near future :D! I'd have a lot of things to write about.. >.<.

Shiny Celebi September 23rd, 2011 7:08 AM

I write about alot of random stuff in my blogs.

Ryoutarou September 23rd, 2011 7:19 AM

I would like to blog, but my life isn't nearly interesting enough to do so, I should totally give it a try again but I generally find myself getting bored of it pretty fast.

vaporeon7 September 23rd, 2011 7:19 AM

I find my PC blog really handy, I like to rant.

Liam Crawford September 23rd, 2011 7:38 AM

How exactly do you get a blog? From what I understand from skimming through the previous posts, I guess you have to donate to unlock the feature. But I'm sure I saw that there is another way to do that.

The idea of a blog seems copacetic, especially in an active community. I'm usually talkative to no end, reaching a rather disturbing/vexing level of pleonasm -- a blog seems just right for me.

Mew~ September 23rd, 2011 8:03 AM

Heres a quote from the FAQ Liam;
Quote:

Blogs are an additional feature on PC and while everyone is free to comment on public blogs, they can only be created if you meet these criteria:
  • Become a Community Supporter of tier 2 or higher. (ie. donate at least $10)
  • Obtain at least 5000 posts.
  • Be selected by the staff.
  • Become a staff member.
As mentioned, there is a chance of being chosen specially by the staff for a blog. The staff may offer a blog to members who contribute actively to the community. If the staff believes you may have something worthwhile to contribute in a blog, there is a chance you will be selected to use the blogging feature.
I'd try and suck up to a member of staff. ;)
I can't really donate any more money, so I'll probably have to wait till I reach 5000 posts. xD; Another contest might come around sooner or later though, so you could try and win one of those~

I have a few ideas about things I'd like to blog about; Why Mudkip's are evil, Why Google Chrome sucks, n' a load of other stuff.

Ryoutarou September 23rd, 2011 8:19 AM

I've never once donated (perks of being an ex-admin!) and I already had well over five thousand posts by the time the donator usergroup was introduced, so this sort of just fell into my lap.

I would probably just end up blogging about playing White version just so I have something to keep me in the game, I put it down for too long and recently started fresh because I had no idea where I was or who half the Pokemon on my team were.

There are other ways, in addition to the FAQ snippet. Sometimes supportership is given away as a prize for community events, and sometimes generous members here make anonymous donations to their friends. :)

Those two are possibly the most strange concepts I have ever heard of XD

Nick September 23rd, 2011 9:05 AM

I wonder how many people would blog if it was open to everybody.

Ho-Oh September 23rd, 2011 9:07 AM

Agreed with the love for Chrome.
/only uses Chrome

@Nick: imo tbh anyone who visits blogs which is probably like 500 or so in total. :x

alisaie September 23rd, 2011 9:07 AM

I'm quite scared to know, to be quite honest. I need to use my blog for something more than just advertising. =u=

I stick with Firefox. Back when mods were double-posting (which I think is happening again) Firefox was the only one I wouldn't double-post on. Chrome and Safari were different stories.
