Introduction
Welcome to Pokemon Galamyth

I am currently trying to make a small team of four or five people for my very first hack called "Galamyth".The fakemon for this region will be nothing more then simple sprites I made myself.
The reason I want to make a team is simple with a couple of people all the work will be shared and it wil be easier.I have tried it on my own for a while but I underestimated it.So that is the reason I tried it from this angle.The rom that will be hacked is Firered

Also I need someone to work with me on the pokedex
I can do Maps,and know how to script but it isnt good enough yet cause it leads to bugs.

Storyline

On one day there was a huge light in the skies and all the disasters disappeared and all people were revived who died by the disasters. All the people were happy and celebrated that all the disasters were over.When people looked into the sky they saw eight pokemon flying into the sky and saw them disappear. From that day on they worshipped the eight Deities that saved their lives.But years later a evil organization wants to harness the power of the Deities to bring the world back to despair.And create the world like they want.This evil organization is called Team Unigend.The player needs to save the world from this organization[/spoiler]

Since we're creating a new Region, shouldn't the maps look more...customised? All you really did was change some tiles. I like the caves, though. Thats some decent mapping but there are quite a few errors; I'll get to work on some maps so that I can show you what i can do. :)

I see this one is good! ^^ I've been looking for a hack that has the potential to be finished, and I think I found it. I've been searching because I can't complete my own hack so I've decided that I needed to work with other people. I am Leach. and I would like to be part of this team. I can do the major/minor events(story-wise), polish up the story, the mythology, and I have also designed a new gameplay to give a fresh feel in this hack. I can also script(basic: talking, yes/no, NPC's, etc.), I can also sprite a little(OW's, battle sprites).

Lastly, I'm a Computer Science Major student currently so working with this hack will really help me a lot. Thank you, I look forward for a positive reply.

I'm not trying to add myself to the team here, I just think that there's a little that needs to be said: Make. Scratches!

I just take a little overview of those pokémon of yours and think to myself: that is not new pokémon!
I can find the pokémon you've typeshifted/recoloured/changed in any way in every single sprite you've made.
That makes the fame look like a half-hearted attempt to make a new generation, which I know it's not supposed to be.
But a lot of those pokémon look downright unnatural and I see the pokémons which has been used for them clearly.
Furthermore, some of them aren't really that great.

I think it's a shame that you have such creative ideas if people don't want to play the game, and to be honest, these sprites makes me wanna ignore it.
Make some scratches with original-looking pokémon.
It'll be hard and take a long time, but I am almost certain it will pay off.
I really hope you can do better that this!

AlfaT, what if some people can't scratch? It was Dark's opinion to make fusions and no offence, but you have/had no say in the matter. Also, if you want to contribute, use constructive criticism via the complement sandwich (Start with something good, then what you could improve on and finish with something good again.) rather than full out slating.

i agree with alfaT it is needed the game will look well stupid mainly cause of the sprites... however i can make some sprites for you so the game can be better and i know a couple poeple that would gladly help make 150 new sprites pretty quickley.... without needed credit.. but you could give credit..... like i sadi straight fakemon are best and normal pokemon are ok.. but the pokemon you got are well.......stupid

Man,I kinda expected that kind of post.
Well I can understand why people want to have scratches instead of simple recolourings.THough the problem for me is that I dont have any talent for making scratches or will never have.
I am also too proud to let other people make scratches for me cause then I would make other people do things for me and otherwise I would feel useless and that this thread would have any significanse anymore.

Well, then if the mappers don't have an idea on how the new gameplay will function.. The best possible way to do is I'll show you how to do it. I'll download the rom that Dark will post, and I'll try to do some tiles and insert them. Just, promise me that you all won't laugh on the stupid looking tiles. Just a brief description on this new gameplay "Final Fantasy-like."

Well, There are too many mappers, I suggest that we should have them work on different sectors. (ex. One will work on the town/city maps, while the other one will work on the Overworld Map, and the last one should be the one in-charge of checking these maps: the movement permissions, tile errors, map errors, etc.

Okay, I've downloaded the rom. I'll do some mapping and the basic output of the gameplay itself. There is also a sprite error regarding the right hand of the OW..

2) is this gonna have the same general map? (in other words everytown leaves the same way as before)
3)tile error,tile error, tile error....WOW
4)are the new tiles inserted or is the a soon to be? (cause i see no difference in tiles)

2.) No, according to the gameplay design, after you leave a town, forest, or city you will be redirected to the World Map. (Like the one in the presentation..)

  1. Yeah I swapped the original tilesets with each other and that didnt worked out right

omg still dont work i didn't say it before but i tried to make a game like that you cant do it cause it needs way to many tiles.....and even if you use every map for outside the game only lasts. like 1 min atm.......and it causes a glitch in petalburg to not let you in it

I've just suggested this to Dark... Use Ruby as a base ROM. After all, if we make busses that go to certain places as in Pokemon Channel (The bus idea is also mine), then you can just edit the moveing truck to resemble a bus.

Will you still do the busses though? You can probably still do it using an unused FR OW.

EDIT: How about taxis? If Fly gets deleted then Taxis could make the game more strategic because people will need to save money.

@blaq I think that that idea isn't too bad. It shouldn't be to hard to script. Just a yes/no message, movement\remove sprite(get the character "in" the taxi), applymovement (taxi and character(if you just do the taxi then the character won't move)), movement/show sprite(get character "out" of the taxi), message, and remove money.

Seeing as I have nothing to do I went and started on ray's script idea with the taxi.
Now I know Dark didn't want to use it but I have nothing to do anyway.
But when I was making it I encounterd a problem.
for some reason the guy who says it all appears somewhere else on the map which is weird.
So maybey somebody can look at it and tell me what I am doing wrong.

K,here are the line ups for Galamyth

Jobs
Edogg is in charge of making the routes/caves/forests
Lolwhet is in charge of making cities and town
Niven is in charge of making the Advanced scripts this includes
Team Unigend scripts
Gym Leader/E4 scripts
Scripts that play a role in the story example a tour around the first town and after that you will get a Town Map
Frits191 is in charge of the simpler scripts
Trainer Battles
Giving items
Giving pokemons
Leachim helps frits with the scripts and Leachim is in charge of making the OW sprites of the Deities.And work together with me to develop the story and the plot

Gameplay

I have maybe finished the concept of Leachim.Every route got a warp on both the start and finish.This will gives the mappers a more variety and freedom for making bigger and prettier maps.So we can use all the original Firered tiles without making bugs and glitches if you walk through routes in and out that my current game had.I also had a idea for the elite four.It will be like the B/W E4.You will have to battle E4 but not in one building but on five different islands on the Djanu Islands.This will give more challenges for it.But this is just one idea

Pokemon itself

Ive thought about it for a long time now and I have decided to none of the Kanto pokemon will be catchable except for
  • Mankey
  • Primeape
  • Jynx
All the other kanto pokemon are bye bye.This is because I couldnt make any good pokedex with all the other lines.
Also the evo of Eevee will only evolve in Espeon and Umbreon.
This would mean I need to get rid of three other pokemons in another region just to make all the pokemon fit.
The pokemon I will get rid off are.
  • Delibird
  • Unown
  • Luvdisc
If people got questions about this PM me.
All the Johto pokemon that evolve from Kanto pokemon will be catchable.But will have -5 stats lowering.In contradiction with Espeon and Umbreon who will get a +5 stats increase due to a high balanced stats of the Eevee Evo.
