PelipperMail October 15th, 2011 1:22 AM

I am Australian, so of course I'm not participating. Also, as an Australian, I feel extremely excluded. Gamefreak need to stop with their region-exclusive events and sweepstakes. :(

Oryx October 15th, 2011 1:25 AM

I wonder what the costs involved with doing things internationally is...I know for this there would be shipping and such, but what does it cost to work out wi-fi things? Idek. :(

Zeffy October 15th, 2011 2:38 AM

Americans get all the luck. ):
Gah, I guess I'd have to wait a million years (well, five to six years at least) before I could even have a DS and either Pokemon Black or White...

~*!*~Tatsujin Gosuto~*!*~ October 15th, 2011 3:34 AM

I wouldn't participate in it since I bought those two dolls from the Pokemon Center over the summer, ($32.00 each) I just bought a Red 3DS a couple of days ago, I already got both Pokemon Black and White and I dont like Pokemon cards; not point for me.

:t354:TG

Zeffy October 15th, 2011 3:40 AM

Dang that must've really put a dent in your pockets!

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ October 15th, 2011 3:56 AM

It deals with B/W, therefore I'm not interested. Ever since they came out and events for D/P/Pt stopped, I haven't been caring about Pokemon events. Don't care about the cards either, or plushies that aren't of Leaf from FR/LG. The 3DS is the only thing I might be interested in, but it's not worth me entering regardless.

Zeffy October 15th, 2011 4:13 AM

At least you can join said contest. I'm stuck with nothing. ):

Oryx October 15th, 2011 7:25 AM

You could sell the stuff!

vaporeon7 October 15th, 2011 7:30 AM

I'm Australian too so the sweepstakes have no value to me either. I agree with Pelipper, Nintendo does like to give everywhere something but us.

/no Dream Word Banette for us.

Zeffy October 15th, 2011 7:34 AM

I live somewhere close to Australia so I guess I have the same unfortunate fate. ):

shengar October 15th, 2011 7:34 AM

I live in Southeast Asia, how could I even get the chance to participate!
Not really interested in any kind of pokemon events or event pokemon. Unless they decide to distribute leaf blade Shiftry or dragon rush Serperior, that'll be different story

Man, If only Game Freak or Nintendo or anyone responsible make a deal with one of the toys/action figure and make a figure of human characters I would probably buy them all.

Kenshin5 October 15th, 2011 7:38 AM

I won't enter the sweepstakes, since I already have both versions and a 3DS and I have no interest in the rest of the merchandise, if anything I would just resell them. Maybe keep the 3DS as a back up.

vaporeon7 October 15th, 2011 7:40 AM

I would enter for the hell of it if they had it here, I wouldn't expect to win or anything but still...

Same here. More Asian countries should get the Pokemon events. If I were to enter the event, I'd go for the cards, the 3DS and the plushies. As for the games, I'd give them to a friend because I already have them.

Zeffy October 15th, 2011 7:31 PM

Anyways, enough with the sweepstakes talk. What are you thoughts on N's complete name? I say, its quite good...except for the Gropius part. ):

Oh, and there's a thread for this at B/W if you want to know more.

Kenshin5 October 15th, 2011 11:10 PM

When I saw the name I was thinking it was much to do about nothing. Now if this is the beginning of 3rd Game coverage and their just starting to trickle out with information then my interest is peaked. But as of now I could careless what his name is, I just want to see more development as a character and back story.

http://bulbanews.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Junichi_Masuda_reveals_information_on_N
I don't know how much there is to this either. I lawl'ed at N believing he was born from pokemon. Or the fact that if he could see the future then why was he defeated by the protagonist unless it was all part of the plan.

vaporeon7 October 16th, 2011 12:27 AM

I cannot read Gropius without
http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/8/8b/Spr_5b_357.png
coming to mind.

Zeffy October 16th, 2011 2:52 AM

^ me too.

But the fact that they said N was born from Pokemon parents means that he is possibly a Pokemon himself. Either a Ditto, a Mew, or a Zoroark! :o

vaporeon7 October 16th, 2011 11:44 PM

I suppose it may hint that Pokemon Grey isn't all too far, maybe this will lead to more information. I hope it's just not some random facts that won't link to anything. He could be a Smeargle...

Zeffy October 17th, 2011 2:24 AM

Oh yeah a Smeargle too. I wonder how these changing appearances happens anyways.

Truality October 17th, 2011 2:47 AM

Also, N's name origins are Greek! *dances*

Speaking of which, poor Greece. The only pokemon sweepstakes we will ever have here will be pedos trapping kids after luring them with 'get your victini here'. Sob.

mysticflower October 17th, 2011 2:48 AM

I guess its not unheard of for a Pokémon to look like a person... But it's still pretty weird. I don't like the name and I think it would have been better to keep us guessing. Or they could have released some hints to generate speculation about what the name might be without actually telling us. I feel like he has lost some of his mystery now.

Besides from his name and a bit of background, he is still a very mysterious character. I don't know about you, but if I hear that someone came from Pokemon parents then I'd think that person would be very mysterious since there are more information hidden behind their name.

vaporeon7 October 17th, 2011 5:01 AM

I can just imagine N being a Zoroark and owning one as well. Who knows, it maybe that a Pokemon turned him into a human.

Moltres Rider October 17th, 2011 5:35 AM

does anybody else like the music from the Pokemon Global link website?

shengar October 17th, 2011 6:05 AM

^Sometimes, it hurt my ears. Seriously those music are quite annoying.

It is N that believes he's born from Pokemon parents. So he he might still born from human parents. Its Ghetsis isolation from huma society that make N believes that he is come from Pokemon parents.

Ugh, not really. I mute my sound on that place. Then again, I mostly play on muted because I like listening to my tracks instead. Makes cool things cooler imo.

mysticflower October 17th, 2011 10:22 AM

The sound is horrible D: I like the tracks in game though, sometimes I'm lame enough to play them through my speakers :3

The Corrupt Plague October 17th, 2011 6:19 PM

I hardly ever use Global link anyway so it's not much of an issue. If if gets too grating, I can simply mute it and play something else over it.

I think it's quite terrible tbh. Thank goodness I can mute it and play some better music over the top.

Zeffy October 18th, 2011 2:48 AM

Well good thing I don't tinker with this PGL thingamajig. Else, I'd be saying the same "omg this song is horrible" complemented with a "good thing I can mute this". xD

vaporeon7 October 18th, 2011 4:38 AM

The Dream World is pretty boring, it takes long to load sometimes, and is horribly repetitive, the only thing you're missing out on is any Pokemon/Items. Which can be got through trade anyway.

Hey, it's actually a nice add-on. Loading and stuff is one thing, but to me it seems like a parallel adventure sometimes. Yo-ho~

Oryx October 18th, 2011 8:48 AM

Yeah I like the idea! It's not the most interestingly implemented, but the adventure online is a cool idea. :3

alisaie October 18th, 2011 9:56 AM

I haven't even bothered with the Dream World, considering what I haven't touched my game even before Dream World opened. v__v maybe I'll pick up my White again someday, but lately I've just not been in the mood for playing Pokemon.

Try it, maybe it'll motivate you. You can have your fun in the Dream World even if you don't own any pokemon while there.

It's just a hyped up Poke Plaza to me. Woo hoo mini games are fun for awhile but they do get a bit dull, which is why I got sick of playing Mario Party over and over again. I'd much rather have more things to do in-game post main story then Dream World, but at least it's better then nothing.

I believe that there's a possibility of N being a Zoroark. Look at the way his hair is. It's like in a ponytail. Just like Zoroark. The difference is the colour but that could be explained if the other parent had green hair or something or like some green Pokemon. xD

I can see the ponytail thing too o.O The DW really has to make this Dream Pals thing better, instead of making people rely on chance of finding your friends.

I got compared to N today...

Black was pretty fun for a while but the entertainment is starting to run out. It feels like there's not much replay value left. I'm thinking about restarting Heartgold to get my Pokemon fix.

Zeffy October 19th, 2011 5:01 AM

If you can't get much replay value from B/W, then I guess that means you don't just like the game. I can't stand playing HG/SS for even up to Goldenrod/Morty, so I guess there's not much replay value for me in that game either. :x

I feel you, brother. Black and White just seem very... one-dimensional, and there is very little to do post-game. The plot is very basic, and it cannot be played more than once. It's almost a massive tutorial.

I also play SS when I want to get my PokéFix, not only because of the easy one-handed playing, great graphics, awesome region, and fantastic music, but ALL of my Pokémon follow me. Isn't that simply the best feature GF has ever implemented into a Pokémon game?

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ October 19th, 2011 6:47 AM

White didn't provide much replay value for me, either. It's too much of a chore trying to level grind, and there aren't really that many Pokemon I can choose from that I actually like. There's not much to do post-game, either.

Leaf Green and Pearl/Platinum are where I turn to if I want to play Pokemon again.

Legendary Silke October 19th, 2011 7:11 AM

I still find myself playing White at least once almost every day. Seems like it still holds replay value for me.

Yeah, the follow me feature has to be one of my favorites. It's pretty cool to be able to walk and interact with your pokemon. The only thing I can think of right this second that can make it even better would be the ability to ride a pokemon instead of a bike because I'm just itching for a chance to use my shiny Rapidash as a mount. I know it's a bit unlikely but a guy can dream right?

Oryx October 19th, 2011 8:17 AM

I'm going to ban you all for talking bad about Gen V. D:<

Although the last Pokemon games I seriously played were Ranger and Mystery Dungeon because I got them for my brithday. :3c

echolocated October 19th, 2011 8:42 AM

I only played MDs Red and Sky.
Ranger? I had to borrow my cousin's. It was fun, actually.

What's so bad about Gen V? I like it, even though some of the Pokemon weren't that original.
I actually always freak out whenever i lose my charger, like, now. xD

Dream World is nice for extra berries, and you can get Pokemon with moves they don't normally learn or abilities they don't normally have(even though they suck :( )

Truality October 19th, 2011 8:42 AM

I've never bothered with the ranger series. The only lead I have about it is from the movie with the water temple... and it was a good movie.

Saryka October 19th, 2011 8:55 AM

I've actually never played any of the spin-off games like Ranger or Mystery Dungeon before. Are they any good? I've always been just about the main games but I'm curious.

Oryx October 19th, 2011 8:58 AM

I'm only a little bit into Mystery Dungeon but I really like Ranger! Plot's a little cheesy but I enjoy the "battling" system. :3 Have you never even played Pokemon Snap though?!

mysticflower October 19th, 2011 9:20 AM

I like the ranger series, and mystery dungeon. The main games are the best for me though, the others I just play when I'm bored of levelling or something. The plots in pokemon are always... questionable... and the dialog stinks, but its a game, not a movie or a book, so I don't mind.

Nooooo. ;____; I wasn't allowed to own an N64 as a kid so I missed out! I think it's on the Wii VC though and I hear that it's really good so I might try it out.

Oryx October 19th, 2011 9:25 AM

Yeah it's on the virtual console for 10 bucks! I had it as a kid and then re-bought it when I got my Wii, lol. Beat in a day but soooo worth it.

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ October 19th, 2011 10:38 AM

My brother played Snap way back in the day... wasn't really my thing.

Neither are most of the other spinoffs... I always thought the concept for Mystery Dungeon was actually pretty stupid *please don't shoot me, lol*. I'm not a fan of "Pokemon without trainers" so the only spinoffs I liked were Colosseum and XD.

I have, but I can never get myself to forget the very-creepy story that I read about somebody else's cartridge. :S If you don't know what I'm talking about, check the spoiler, it's quite lengthy but worth reading, IMO.

Spoiler:
We are all familiar with the game Pokemon Snap.

It was a family fun game for the Good 'ol Nintendo 64. You played the role of a young man who went around taking pictures of pokemon. I loved this game, and it just so happens that it was on the the first games I bought for my nintendo 64. But something happened that will keep me from ever touching that System again.

A few days ago I bought a Nintendo 64 from my friend. It came with 6 games. Mario Kart 64, Pokemon Stadium, Legend of Zelda Ocarina of time, Legend of Zelda Majoras mask, Smash Brothers, and Pokemon snap. He sold them to me telling me, that he just did not want to look at these games anymore. I thought nothing of it, and just marked it off in my mind, as he was just getting sick of the system taking up room on his Dresser.

I started playing Pokemon snap first, When that familiar N64 logo came up, I about creamed myself in pure Nostalgic bliss. Then the start up screen came on. I noticed that the last save was made only about a week ago. I figured my friend wanted to play one last round to say goodbye to the system. I opened the file to see how far he had gotten when I notcied some strange things about the game.

Prof. Oak was not standing in his normal lab I remember, the background was lined with blackened marks, and the windows were broken in. The outside was a dismal gray, looking almost overcast. His dialogue did not match the cheery attitude I remember.

"Good day to you young one, are you ready for your most important shoot?" His face contorted to a cruel looking smile.

I wanted to know what came next, so I pressed Go....God I wish I would have just turned the system off.

The overworld map looked wrong. The landscape was not a lush green and brown, but a muddy brown and red, almost like fire. My friend had beaten all of the tracks. So I could select any of them. I picked Beach. If only I would have just turned off the system.

The start up was the same animation. My character reading his camera and switching to first person view. The whole track was dark, and it seemed to be almost completley abandoned. The cheery music did not play. The only sound was that of my vehicle going down the track, and the wind blowing. I turned the first corner and what I saw is still fresh in my mind.

Bodies were strewn all across the screen. The Meowth that comes running from the grass was on the tracks. I figured the Cart would just stop like it normally does when something obstructs the path, but it just ran over him. The worst part was the sound. That squish of meat, the crack of his bones...the sound was not the crappy quality that I was used to either. This sounded real, like it had been recorded and broadcasted into my game. I looked back to see if the meowth was still there, Pidgeys where eating him!! They pecked out his eyes, and continued to devour his body. I don't know what drove me to take the picture but I did.

I wanted to just reach out and flick the power switch, but something compelled me to continue the game. I came to the part where the snorlax normally was, but insead of a comedic sleeping giant I found him mourning over a dead Pikachu in his arms. Once again some sick notion inside me forced me to take this picture.

I came to the part where normally a Meowth would be gusted by a pidgey, but the only thing I saw was two dead pidgeys. A meowth came out from the grass and began to feast on their remains. I found myself taking pictures of almost everything I saw by this point so I snapped the picture.

As I neared the end, I came to the bridge that crosses over the small river. Bodies floated down the river, some looking like they had been torn apart, some looking like they just died for no reason, no cuts, bruises, or anything wrong with them. I snapped a picture of this as well. I came to the warp gate that takes you back to Prof. Oak's lab, I skipped doing Oak's pick because I just could not bear to see the images I had captured, but when the game cut to oak saying

"Welcome back" he opened my entire library of photos and began to comment on a few. The one of the dead meowth being eaten made him smile a sick sadistic smile. "Nature taking it's course. Lets check the size...260 - It's so-so. Technique...Great you realy captured the beauty of it's demise." He brought up the one of the Snorlax.

"Great! you have done well capturing his pain and suffering. True work of art. Lets check the size...."

After him commenting on all of my photos his face turned to his -now sick looking- smile.

"Ever since mew became angry the world is just full of beauty don't you agree?"

I was given the option of Yes or no, but when I clicked no he would just say "Are you sure?"

After I finnaly said yes, he told me I had one last thing to do. He said I must capture an image of Mew in all his glory.

I went to the start screen and picked Rainbow cloud. When the start up screen started I was greeted with the loving, friendly clouds I had prayed I would see, but the only problem was the contilations were not their normal pokemon forms. They resembled Lightning bolts, Tidal waves, falling meteors, and forest fires. After about 10 minutes of just moving through the map I finnally encountered Mew...Or atleast what I can only assume was once Mew

The creature was much larger than the cute, cuddly Mew, I had seen before. This thing was huge, with sharp teeth, and horrible looking eyes. Eyes that seemed to suck the joy out anything they cast their gaze upon. I brought up my camera to Snap the creature when my game started Glitching out. Text kept appearing over the screen, while the creature seemed to warp around the screen.

"You have seen what true beauty is, now you must become part of the beauty. Become part of the beauty, become part of the beauty, become part of the beauty..." It repeated this for about 2 minutes until the creature stopped warping, and flew towards the screen. He pointed at me and mouthed the word "Beauty" and my game crashed.

I threw the cartridge out, and have not since touched the N64...I can only wonder what the other games may hold...

Oryx October 19th, 2011 11:12 AM

Is it bad that I was bothered because I know the Meowth getting gusted by the Pidgey comes after the small bridge so I'm like "oh that's so unrealistic"? xDDD;

I actually like the Ranger series very much! Especially the latest one, Guardian Signs~ I've never tried Colosseum and XD as I don't have and wish to buy a GameCube just for those 2 games. Though from watching videos, I found the storyline quite interesting. I have always been a big big fan of PMD. I'm still waiting for the next PMD with BW pokemon. X3

@PelipperMail: OMG that's one MAJOR creepy story. Is it a creepypasta? T~T

vaporeon7 October 20th, 2011 12:26 AM

I enjoyed the Pokemon Ranger series a lot as well. The major problem with them is that they can ruin your DS's screen if you're not careful. The thing that annoyed me with Guardian Signs was that for part of the game, multiplayer was almost totally required, seeing as know one I know has it.

I'm a big fan of the PMD series as well, and I love the storyline for both games. I'm hoping too that another spin-off will be made following the PMD series and it includes the B/W Pokémon.

I've played the first Ranger game, but like vaporeon said, it can ruin your touch screen and that's one of the reasons why I stopped playing them after seeing some changes to my screen. >:

vaporeon7 October 20th, 2011 5:28 AM

Pokemon Dash ruined my first DS's touch screen, too bad you could only play as Pikachu.

Mew~ October 20th, 2011 5:41 AM

I loved the first two Ranger games, I managed to put quite a lot of time into both games, I was quite careful with them though - they/I never did anything to my DS's screen. I never got onto playing the third game though. I'm a busy boy.

Wait, it's probably a bad thing that everyone I just named above is a bad guy, lol

Eh, I've always found the trainers more interesting than the Pokemon themselves... which is why it frustrates me when the human characters in these games get little to no development.

does anybody else agree that Delcatty's cry almost resembles an actual cat meow?

To me it seems like some baby-ish voice that is crying out for help lol

But no, not a cat's. Anyway pokemon cries don't resemble their animal counterparts imo, in general.

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ October 21st, 2011 4:32 AM

Delcatty's cry sounds just a bit more higher pitched than a cat, IMO. I've heard some cats with very low pitched meows, actually.

Miss Doronjo October 21st, 2011 7:56 AM

Actually, I thought that Skitty's cry was more like a kitten/small cat's cry~

And Purugly might resemble a low cat's cry~!

Zeffy October 22nd, 2011 4:45 AM

I didn't bother to check which sounds more like a kitty or a dog. As long as they meow, its a cat sound! xD

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ October 22nd, 2011 5:43 AM

Meowth really doesn't sound like a cat, though... IIRC it makes the same squeaky cry as Horsea does.

Zeffy October 22nd, 2011 5:56 AM

Wow, I can't even remember half the Pokemon cries. I tend to remember them at the time when I hear the sound itself. xD

Speaking of cries, I really do wonder how Pokemon can understand other Pokemon through their...name speaking. Cofa cofa co co cofa cofa COFAGRIGUS! xD

Vani vani van-vani luxe VANILLUXE! I think it's a tad like morse code. Like one short syllable of its name is like a dot/dash and they just linked and mash all these thingamadoodles into phrases and sentences until Arceus knows what they're babbling. xD

Zeffy October 22nd, 2011 8:21 AM

Well, I suppose. I'd go Zeffy zee zeff zeeffy? zeff zeff ZEFF ZEFFU!! if I would to ever talk like that. I guess Speech isn't much of a subject for Pokemon...

mysticflower October 22nd, 2011 10:09 AM

I think a lot of it is in the body language and tone of voice, so you get more of a gist of what they are saying rather than individual words (in the anime anyway)

Zeffy October 22nd, 2011 6:44 PM

But...even with their body movements I still can't get much of a gist. I'm dim at what they're trying to say. But I say, I'm looking forward for the future of Pokemon, where the Pokemon speaks human language and humans speak...Pokemon language. xD

So we'll rattle on with our names? "Dia diamond diamond mon mon diamond!" XD

I believe they also convey their language by attacking like that Tangrowth in the anime, "ME WANT YOUR ENERGY. ME GIGA DRAIN YOU!" And what have we not in the games, Pokemon a-hopping out of grass~ c:

Also do I see no point in Pokemon NPCs who just stand there forever repeating their name over and over again each time you talk to it? Like "Peeko!" xD

Zeffy October 22nd, 2011 7:49 PM

I imagine the future games being a bit different if that'd happen. Like you were a different boy with telekinetic abilities which makes you able to talk and understand Pokemon language and discovered the truth about the language so you go on an epic journey to teach humans how they are supposed to speak. WITH THE POKEMON HELPING YOU HUZZAH!

Oryx October 23rd, 2011 12:47 PM

But Pokemon can already understand humans, so why do humans need to change their speech? It's Pokemon that do :(

Shining Raichu October 23rd, 2011 6:12 PM

Perhaps Meowth should get Team Rocket some money by teaching human speech at a Pokemon school XD

Or heck, abuse his Pay Day move!! XD

Ciax October 23rd, 2011 11:48 PM

Apparently meowth cant learn pay day because of the effort he used learning to speak and walk like a human. Meowth is my favourite pokemon in the anime, much better than pikachu.

I didn't say that humans need to change their speech. I never said anything about that. It was supposed to be a joke that everything in the Pokemon world future is not the same as the present. But we never know...

Moltres Rider October 24th, 2011 8:47 AM

did you know that there is enough Pokémon cries out there to make almost 10 minutes of audio? I used a program that combines multiple wav files into one. combined all the cries of all Pokémon to date... the result: 9 Minutes and 46 seconds!!!

You sure have a lot of time on your hands there...

Very informative.

Well there are some gameplay things that can't be ported exactly in the anime, you know... and that's natural. They'd disrupt the flow, and in this case, J&J's money bust routine xD

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ October 25th, 2011 3:52 AM

I like to keep the anime and games separate because the anime is really annoying. And I'd much rather have my Meowth know Pay Day and be able to evolve; that move is an awesome moneymaker in game... I had enough money in Leaf Green to actually buy the coins needed for Ice Beam when I first got to Celadon.

I know what you mean, I used it all the time in Red to get money so I didn't have to keep battling the Elite 4. I'm so glad it was a TM in that game.

I second the notion~!! :D The Meowth line was my favourite feline Pokemon family. I didn't really like the rest, maybe Skitty but it sucks at battling, Glameow is just eeww and Purrloin is a purple punching-bag. .3.

Zeffy October 25th, 2011 4:18 AM

Hah, all these talk about Meowth using Payday makes me want to play Pokemon FR again tbqh. ;~;

Truality October 25th, 2011 5:11 AM

You guys sound as if the Pay Day mechanics were changed in the later generations. Were they? Because one way or another I never used it or seen it in my HG and W.

There were changes in the amount of money you received due to items though.

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ October 25th, 2011 8:42 AM

Actually the dollar amount for Pay Day was 2x (level) for Gen I and II and 5x (level) for Gen III and after. And this does come from Bulbapedia.

Bulbapedia also says Pay Day's Japanese name is "Coin For a Cat". Somehow I just find that really hilarious. xD
http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/e/ee/Pay_Day.png

Whenever after battle it described the player picking up the money, I always imagine some clumsy idiot bending over and picking hundreds of coins off the floor one at a time as if playing 52 Pickup. xD

Truality October 25th, 2011 8:31 PM

So it was actually buffed? That's a good thing.

Also lol, first time I see the Gen V Pay Day animation. Awesome.

Honestly it would be cool if they just kept on powering up this move little by little until finally it actually became a useful battling move. I would love to actually use Pay Day. xD I literally haven't even seen it since Generation II.
They could do this with lots of weak gimmicky moves because gimmicky = awesome but weak = not awesome. :c

And yes, it is a super super super awesome animation. :3

Eh, I thought he ment from Gen 3 and on due to the mention of FR. But thanks for the correction.

Bulbapedia is just so helpful. :D

Zeffy October 26th, 2011 2:10 AM

*people

People made bulbapedia therefore it is the people who made it who are helpful! :3

Ciax October 26th, 2011 2:22 AM

I seriously think I visit bulbapedia more than facebook. I use it for everything from looking at movesets and natures to just reading about the anime characters. It is probably the best pokemon website ever

I used to do that.

But when I get the hang of it, I sort of memorized important moves that most Pokemon should know in certain situations. Though I still use it for the occasional check for anime stuff, but that rarely happens, if at all.
