I dressed up as a Pikachu for last Halloween. :) It was quite boss. I even carried around a smaller Pikachu with me. http://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen2/crystal/025.gif

Speaking of which, I prefer fatroll pikachu than the renowned one, lots more. Making it more and more 'in shape' over the years loses in cuteness and gains in coolness, which is against the mascot stereotype, I'm afraid. Always imo. |
Guess I never realised it, but you have a point. xD
http://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen1/redblue/025.png <-belly However I think even in Yellow it was mostly "in shape". http://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen1/yellow/025.png However ever since Generation IV it looks model thin . . . http://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen4/dp/025.pnghttp://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen4/dp_action/025.png Idc, I've always though Pikachu was sexy. |
I liked the fat Pikachu in Yellow more than any other redesigns of it. It looks so cute when its fat! >3<

The Yellow sprite, to me, matches most with how I identify it. This may be just because I spent a lot of time with the Pikachu in Yellow but . . . its Red sprite just doesn't look exactly right, I mean it's just weird and different from the normal look of Pikachu. More modern sprites also look too different from my general picture of Pikachu. Idk, the shape doesn't feel right. :(
So, yeah, Yellow is the best. It's actually HUGE surprising to look at the Red sprites and realise how much of them just don't fit with how you see the Pokémon today (at least for me). Case in point: http://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen1/green/003.pnghttp://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen1/redblue/009.pnghttp://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen1/redblue/020.pnghttp://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen1/green/028.pnghttp://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen1/redblue/045.pnghttp://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen1/redblue/089.pnghttp://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen1/redblue/111.pnghttp://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen1/green/112.pnghttp://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen1/green/115.pnghttp://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen1/redblue/147.pnghttp://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen1/green/149.pnghttp://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen1/green/151.png They range from crude to strangely proportioned to just downright scary. Mostly the scary thing. |
Mew looks like a terrestrial organism, which isn't really as cute as it is. It's more of..creepy than cute. I'd take the newer Mew, tyvm.
THAT being said, I guess I never really paid attention to the sprites in R/B when I played it around 7 years ago. Hmm... |

I never liked Vaporeon's R/B sprite, most of the R/B sprites were corrected (well better than the R/G sprites). But Vaporeon's wasn't. At least it looks a lot better in the yellow sprite... |
Thank goodness they really changed most of the Pokemon that looked horrid. I like their newer look.

Poor Sydian... he's stuck with the sprite-commenting posts in the thread that is actually made for sprite discussion, while the fun's all here.
Still, when I was talking about pikachu becoming thinner, I wasn't only referring to the games. It happened in the anime, too. |
lol all true, same with Aumarill it looked weird in G/S/C, but i loved it in the D/P/Pl and G/S remake.
|
Well, yeah, that is understandable. They are traveling, mostly by foot. So Pikachu has a high possibility of losing weight along the way. :3

I would never be able to walk like them. I'm so lazy @[email protected]

Poke Merch?
Hey, I'm just wondering if anyone knows anywhere in the UK to buy Pokemon merchandise? I've looked all over Google but can't find anywhere other than in online shops where the prices are huge. So does anyone know an actual shop in the UK where you can buy Pokemon Merch? :3 Thanks in advanced!
(PS: I'm not sure where to post this? Sorry if it's in the wrong place!) |

And that in turn makes me think of a new discussion topic: What type combinations would you really really really really like to see on Pokémon? As for combinations that have already been made but are few, what type combinations would you like to see more of? Quote:
Sorry I couldn't help more. Good luck in your quest! :3 |

Grass/Ghost, I have ideas for that. And perhaps a Bug/Dark, like a roach or something. Rock/Dragon or Ground/Dragon would be awesome, like those terra-dragons in mythology and fantasy games. xD Electric/Ice would be nifty too, and I don't mean Rotom-F(it doesn't count). ;) Psychic/Ghost is also nice. And also I ask, why don't we have a Bug/Psychic and/or Bug/Ice? There could be many ideas for them! ^.^; That's all I can think of. |

I'm all for Electric-Ice or Ground-Ghost or Dark-Steel, though I don't have any ideas for specific Pokemon of these types. They just seem like cool combinations of types.

I'd like to see a Fire/Water and a Fighting/Flying personally. They're the only types that haven't been paired with water and flying. |
I agree with vappy, I want a Fire/Water (or vice-versa, it doesn't really matter) Pokemon. Seems like every type has been paired with water except for fire. I guess they go by the saying fire and water do not mix, but that's no excuse.
Oh, and also Fire/Grass, because I don't think there's one yet. |
I wouldn't say forms of Rotom count :( They're boring!
