What is your favorite shiny form out of the Dark-types?

Spiritomb, because it looks more intense.
Mightyena, because Gold>>>>Black, gray w/e.
Umbreon, because it just looks cool.

The thing about dark types is that all of the pokemon look like they should be of that type. Not like some pokemon from other types that look like they belong to another type. Other than that almost all of the dark types look cool and are good for battling.

Your partners -

Tyranitar, Honchkrow.

●What is your favorite shiny form out of the Dark-types? (Feel free to list more than one or have a top 5/10/ etc. like thing.)Least favorite? (if you have one/any.)

My favourite shiny has got to be Umbreon. Those blue stripes perfectly complement the black colour. Same goes for Zorua who is second. My least favourite shiny dark type is a tie between Honchkrow,Weavile andMurkrow. That pink suits them horribly as they are all supposed to be bossy pokemon.

What types rule –

Oh cool thanks so much! This place really needs more banners. I like it especially the shiny Umbreon.

Speaking of shinies, I I'll answer my topic.

Answer the topic:

My favorite shiny of all the dark-types is definitely Umbreon. I love the blue and how well it goes well with the black. Second favorite would be Bisharp's cause the dark blue really fits with the black and the white rings on it's body.

Least favorite is probably Weaville/Sneasal. For a cool and bad Pokemon pink doesn't suit it too well and make it look pretty girly.

Fave Shiny, hmmm...this is hard. I would definitely pick Umbreon's shiny, a gorgeous color as well as Zoroarks. another is Tyranitar's and Spiritomb's. Not a big fan of Mightyena's and Hydreigon's.

Hello Zorua4Ever welcome to the club. you're the only person who's had two evolutions as partners. lol

Yeah I love the blue they used for Zorua's shiny. I wish Zoroark's shiny also used that blue but the purple looks nice.

Zorua´s shiny looks nice but it would be even better if they used a dark blue color, as for Zoroark, i think purple suits it very well.

What do you think of Dark-Type Pokemon: Dark pokemon for me represent maturity and elegance within the Pokemon genre, they're often overlooked and made fun of for how weak they are or how unnecessary they are but within the world something which is unnecessary is actually the most important thing of all, the beauty of pokemon such as Umbreon gives you the impression that even though dark and not to be played with they can have the beauty of other typed pokemon.

Your partners: (Up to two) My partners going by the beautiful selection in my signature would have to be Umbreon the Goddess of dark beauty and Houndoom the pure flavor of fire and darkness.

What Types rule:The Darkness would be the best type in my opinion however even the darkness can find itself with allies in the form of ghost pokemon.

Answer the current topic: http://sprites.pokecheck.org/s/197.gifThe best shiny dark pokemon is something which can not be judged as all dark pokemon look increasingly interesting in there alternate forms however if I am to choose but one it would have to be Umbreon, the mixture of black and blue are often seen as a bad thing but in this instance the mixture of colours show Umbreon as a beautiful queen of the night as on a moonlit hill, a shiny Umbreon would cause anything and everything to stop and admire her beauty.

I think Absol's shiny form is pretty unique with these red dark colors. See like that, this red is kinda aggressive, reflecting itshigh amount of strength.

Spiritomb's shiny form concept remind me the shining colors of the universe. Because of its types and its colors, that remind me the nebulas floating in the universe!

I must admit that a shiny Spiritomb looks like it has chosen a good path rather than a dark one, it seems to have been corrupted by the light and finds itself in a class where it isn't a real dark pokemon anymore but it isn't truly a ghost or any other type of pokemon, Spiritomb are a very interesting pokemon as they tend only to show up in dark places so having a shiny version which is so bright would make it an outcast of some sort? the other Spiritomb not liking it because it has this corrupted light look to it but I do find it interesting that it resembles a nebular.

A shiny Absol is something someone would have to want to see in there times playing the pokemon games, while I agree that the red makes it look more aggressive and dominant you have to remember that and Absol is a soldier of the night, rather than being a thuggish pokemon and picking fights wherever it can find them, an Absol is pokemon of peace and helps humans when a natural disaster is about to take place it tells the people of the impending doom and guides them to safety! Of course an Absol being mistreated is something to gasp at doing show would make people understand how much power one can have and never to mistreat pokemon that even though look shy and observant can still be a vicious battler.

Hmm well if you ask me I'd say spiritomb's shiny form looks like demented toxic bubblegum. shiny absol looks cool and i like it. it has a feel about it, sorry but i can't exactly comprehend it myself, that makes you think along the lines of more "I'm gonna kill you" kinda look, but that's just my opinion.

Galoria February 27th, 2013 1:43 PM

I think I made a mistake in there. Or people don't get it in the right way, sorry.
When I said Absol looks more aggressive, it is because of its colors not because of its entire nature. In its pokédex entry it says that it is a very powerful pokémon and peaceful.

Oh. Yes, it seems that Spiritomb is kinda 'corrupted' by lights. It is more colorful like nebulas than its darker purple form. It sounds interesting to have some backgrounds about shiny colors. I don't know there are backgrounds about the shiny colors, it is something I'm wondering! °~°

I enjoy Umbreon, Spiritomb, and Houndoom's Shiny Sprites (Houndoom only bc he's my favorite mon ever). Honchkrow looks pretty bossy, and Hydreigon is also cool. Some of them, like Shiftry, have ugly orange shiny sprites which saddens me, but I always like their regular sprites!

Ok I think it's time for a new topic:

If you could have any Dark-type in real life which one would you have and why?

I can't remember if this was a topic before or not. XD I really should have a section for previous topics.

CourageHound February 28th, 2013 3:52 AM

Nice Topic! Sorry i've been kinda sick lately.

Answering Current Topic:

I would of course have either one of my two partners. However, I would have Mightyena instead of Tyranitar mainly because Tyranitar has somewhat limited mobility and inconvenience reguarding its evolutionary stages. Meaning, i would be able to take him eeverrywhere I go. Lije tkranitar would be to heavy and bulky to go in houses or pupitar would be too sluggish. Mightyena doesnt have those problems, and tbh Mightyena is just one of those pokemon i'd have in real life. Cuz hes awesome like that.

Wow what a nice topic. I always dreamed to have a real Pokémon in my sides. What a kid you will say :c
Anyway! I'm hesitating between Umbreon and Absol, they're both so cute, calm and very influenced by their envrionements. Absol would be a speedy Pokémon, indeed, strong too, in the same way to be calm. Umbreon is calm too, carying about his trainer as Absol.
They're both have a cool design as a dark type with their Pokédex entries.
In my opinion they're both wild in their souls, because of their powers, like Umbreon like to hunt in the night, like a feline. And Absol living all alone because of its mysterious powers to predict disasters.

I would go for Umbreon, as a Eevee and Eeveelution true fan.

Answer the current topic: If I could have one dark type in real life it would be Sandile because he is based on a crocodile and isn't too big and crocodiles are really cool in real life but would be difficult to own. Sandile is also part ground so it's cool that he's a crocodile, but not a water type.

Dark Scythe March 3rd, 2013 12:11 AM

Answering current topic:
Definitely mightyena. I've always wanted a dog except our house is too small, so an awesome dog-like pokemon that can fit in a sphere? perfect!
tyranitar would too be awesome. i mean, a giant dark/ground type following you around? but a slight blip would be the fact that considering it would follow me around everything would crash around my ears everywhere. same goes for hydriegon.
wait a minute, my school crashing around my ears? well that would be fun.
(yeah im so evillll)

Understandable, but don't try to double post. Mainly cause PC rules don't allow it, but yeah.

Anyway I should answer the topic myself:
I would have Umbreon. I don't really have much of an answer to put into it, but mainly cause it looks like they'd make a good pet and they seem they'd be very calm. Plus it's my favorite Dark-type so why not.

Anyway , sorry for not keeping up with the club. We need a new topic for sure. Anyone got any ideas?

I think I should start a points system to keep activity somewhat moving. I guess 5/10 points for anyone who comes with a topic maybe?

What do you think of Dark-Type Pokemon?:
Dark types, dark types, dark types. A wonderful type to be introduced, they're one of the most fierce if not best battlers out there with Pokemon such as Weavile and Tyranitar who both can wreck through teams easily. Their designs are sleek and cool, also most of them are versatile and have a wide movepool range instead of being restricted to few types. Honestly I don't think I have any complaints about them, they're a great type that shouldn't ever be underestimated. Plus most of them have this nocturnal look and I admire creatures in the dark (oops didn't mean to make that pun D:), so yeah this is essentially the perfect club for me! :3

Your partners: Axel the Stunky and Altan the Murkrow

What Types rule: Daaaark types! :3

Answer the current topic:

I'd have a Murkrow, it's always been one of my favourite dark-types. Also I have a passion for birds, they're wonderful creatures. Sometimes I like sitting out on the balcony watching all sorts of birds fly past and silently wishing I could also have the ability of flight. It'd be wonderful. Going off-topic, but in general I'd own a Murkrow. Also it'd be useful as a messenger sending letters to my friends all over the world when I felt like using pen and paper over e-mails and texting.

And I like the idea of an activity system! Perhaps, like in most clubs with this sort of system...you can have a Reward Shop, where you could use your points to get certain things? It could be anything really from turning one of your partners shiny, to being able to purchase another one. Or we could even go as far as giving some sort of rare dark-type over Nintendo Wi-fi, but I'm not too sure on that one. :B

Also might as well try and throw in a new topic for you all :3, sorry if it's been done already!

Instead of actually owning a dark-type Pokemon, if you could transform into one what would it be and why?

I'm really interested in seeing your thoughts on this. As for me... I'd say a Mightyena. Always wanted to be like a wolf, running wild and feeling the breeze across my face as I travel to all sorts of places. Exploring dense forests and looking badass, yeah that'd probably be me. :B

Synerjee March 8th, 2013 11:45 PM

I would be a Zorua! It would be fun turning into another Pokemon or human's image just to laugh at their confused expressions. xD xD

Hmm..after reading Narnia's choice, being a Mightyena appeals to me greatly too. I could imagine myself running free without any limitations as to where I could travel to. Feeling my muscles bunching and flexing to the rhythm of my paws thudding on the ground, the ground racing away behind me. The rush of adrenaline as I go streaking across a grassy plain under the moon. Yeah, imagine that.

And Mightyena would be a lot of fun too ahh, being a huge beast of a, well, beast, would be such fun to reek havoc with ahah. Well time for a new topic I guess.

Something just to keep the place active for a while. until I can come up with a better topic.

Were you expecting any new Dark-type Pokemon for X and Y to be revealed in the March CoroCoro?

Me? Not really. Though I was expecting some X and Y news, but I guess not. :( Rumble U and anime news is fine enough I guess. I don't think we'll be getting any news to next month, and none probably not a new Dark-type.

Not much of a topic and doesn't work well, but I guess it'll do.

I'd like to be a Zoroark, given how it loves to trick people by disguising itself as something else and I do love playing tricks on people, so Zoroark definitely relates to me a lot.

I'll answer the latest topic as well.

Were you expecting any new Dark-type Pokemon for X and Y to be revealed in the March CoroCoro?

Uh, not exactly. But I do hope they show some in coming months cos I want to see all the new Pokemon, like I always do when I follow news relating to a new generation of games.

Aslan March 16th, 2013 11:01 PM

Were you expecting any new Dark-type Pokemon for X and Y to be revealed in the March CoroCoro?

To be honest, no actually. I was only expecting news on information such as one of the starter's evolutions, perhaps a revealation on Slyveon's typing. There seemed quite a thin chance a new dark-type would be revealed, seeing as there were sixteen other types, so I wasn't expecting any to be completely honest. :x

Treecko March 16th, 2013 11:05 PM

Yeah true. I'm sure we will get more new Pokemon in a month or two so new Dark-types being introduced in the coming months is inevitable. And besides, every Pokemon type get a few new Pokemon each generation so it's not like Gen VI won't have any.

Zorogami March 17th, 2013 4:31 AM

Were you expecting any new Dark-type Pokemon for X and Y to be revealed in the March CoroCoro?

I really didn't think there would be any new pokemon revealed, so that automatically excludes dark type pokemon too. I hoped they would give us some more info about Sylveon and the starters though...

Were you expecting any new Dark-type Pokemon for X and Y to be revealed in the March CoroCoro?

I was just kinda expecting the new evolutions or prevolutions for Heracross and Pinsir...although...it would've been nice to see new (maybe) Dark-type Pokemon and maybe with a secondary type like Poison or Fire

Treecko March 21st, 2013 3:56 AM

Ok I guess it's time for a new topic. Should really be more active on topics.

This is a question that's been asked before, but I thought I revive it seeing we have some newer members and many older members who don't post actively here anymore.

What's your favorite Dark type move and why?

Synerjee March 21st, 2013 8:38 AM

What's your favourite ark-type move, and why?

I like the ever powerful, ever reliable Crunch. It's one of those moves which you know will hit every time and will cause a good amount of damage. It also has the ability to lower one's defence every so often, which makes Crunch hit even harder. So much win!

Aslan March 23rd, 2013 4:37 PM

What's your favorite Dark type move and why?

In general, Sucker Punch is easily one of my most favourite Dark-type moves. It has a reliable accuracy and the fact you can quickly take out fast sweepers who are planning to attack is great. It's always been a bit of a gamble to work with although I still love it for all of the times it brought victory on my side in various battles, whether in-game or in competitive play.

Although I have a second favourite which is equally loved by me, Nasty Plot. In-game wise I hate making room for stat-raising moves, so I generally don't use it but competitive wise, this move tears through everything. Doubling your special attack, especially on certain hard hitters, sets up a great way to tear through all sorts of teams. It's a wonderful move alongside Sucker Punch. :3

Welcome to the club! Has it really been 4 days since the last post? O_O

Well I'm gonna answer the topic and make a new one.

What's your favorite Dark type move and why?

I would say Dark Pulse. It's a very speedy move with is 100% accurate so you can relay on it. It's has a good amount of power and is one of the best special Dark moves out there. It also looke cool to me and it also has a 20% chance of flinching.

OK now a new topic.

What do you think is the best Dark-type move for competitive battling?

I have no opinion on this right now and I'm kind of tired so I'll let you guys answer later. (Not that I don't know myself or anything.Mostly just tired. )

Well, all right! I always wanted to join this club.

New topic answer: Hmmm, I'm not sure about this one. Probably Taunt, considering that of an underexperienced opponent were to challenge your Dark-type with a Psychic-type move, it would just keep failing and failing

CourageHound March 28th, 2013 3:22 PM

Hey guys how ya been?

Answering Topic Question: What do you think is the best Dark-type move for competitive battling?

For this one I would have to say Taunt would be currently the most prominent dark move in the meta-game that is used competitively. It is great for stopping support pokemon or anything that can give a passive/tactical advantage to your opponent. It also helps that manny pokemon can use it outside dark types.

Hikamaru March 28th, 2013 6:22 PM

What do you think is the best Dark-type move for competitive battling?

I'm going with what CourageHound said and I'll say Taunt. It's very handy for shutting down foes who tend to use status and support moves a lot, when timed right it can turn any battle in your favor.

I'll answer the last topic as well so I can catch up:

What's your favorite Dark type move and why?

Dark Pulse, it has a neat chance of flinching the foe and is the go-to move for any Special-based Dark-type. I also love Crunch and Night Slash since they benefit the many Physical-based Dark-type attackers out there, Night Slash is even great when combined with Super Luck and a Scope Lens, making it fun for landing critical hits (Honchkrow and Absol just love critical hits lol).

Chocolate™ March 29th, 2013 12:56 AM

What do you think is the best Dark-type move for competitive battling?

I'll agree with everyone about Taunt. It's one of the most annoying moves ever for a first time battler. Also I would put Sucker Punch. It can turn the tables in a match within a few seconds.

Synerjee March 29th, 2013 6:12 AM

What do you think is the best Dark-type move for competitive battling?

Well, Taunt of course! It effectively stops the opponent from setting up and turning deadly or inflicting status conditions, and if used well, can turn losing battles into victorious ones. Imagine having a team made up largely of stallers. Just a Taunt for each Pokemon and you're done for. K.O.

Welcome to the club man!

To answer the topic, I'm sort of with Midnight Umbreon, I'm not much of a competitive battler.
But I guess I'd have to say Taunt. Since Taunt stops all status and supportive moves making it harder for and opponent to take the advantage with a status aliment or an increase of power.

Treecko April 8th, 2013 11:57 PM

The place's dead. So I'm gonna bump it up with a topic, this happens way too often. >.<

Of all of the Dark-type specialists, which one is your favorite and why?

If you're not sure who these are there's (and this is including spin-offs)
Karen of the Johto Elite Four http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/a/a2/Spr_HGSS_Karen.png
Sidney of the Hoenn Elite Four http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/8/86/Spr_RS_Sidney.png
Grimsley of the Unova Elite Four http://sprites.pokecheck.org/t/079.gif
And in Pokemon Conquest there's Kotaro of the Yaksha Kingdom http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/1/1a/Conquest_Kotaro_I.png

Discuss!

Ah yes, let's try to make this place more active. hahaha. Welcome to the club Megan! And yeah I really wish she was a Gym Leader too, she'd work well as one. Honestly there just needs to be a Dark type gym leader in general.

To answer the topic:

Pretty tough question for me really , I love all three of the specialist in the main games, and have never played Conquest and so I know nothing about Kotaro. But I'm gonna go with Karen. I love her team cause she uses a Umbreon and she knows how to battle well. Plus one of my favorite quotes in any of the games is the one she says in Gold and Silver/ HeartGold and Soulsilver after you defeat her (particularly the GS version)
Quote:

"Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled trainers should try to win with their favorites."
Not the full quote but this is the part i love the most. It's words I definitely live by when playing the games. Whenever I play any Pokemon game, my team mostly consists more of Pokemon I like rather than the Pokemon with the best stats. Sure I do look at a Pokemon's stats before making the final decisions, but I usually I just pick Pokemon I like more.

Second would have to be Grimsley. He's so suave-looking and I love his outfit, it's so fancy. Plus he has a great team imo, both during his initial battle and post-game rematch after especially his Scrafty. :D

Hikamaru April 10th, 2013 12:42 AM

Welcome aboard Megan, glad you're planning to keep up this club's activity!

I'll answer the topic while I'm at it.

Of all of the Dark-type specialists, which one is your favorite and why?

Grimsley of course! I love his hair, the fact he's a 5th Gen character (you know how much I love that generation) and he uses really strong Dark-types like Scrafty, Bisharp and Krookodile. I really wanted him to be a Gym Leader rather than an Elite Four member, but he's still cool nonetheless! But I do hope X and Y finally give us a Dark-type Gym Leader!

Out of all three E4 Dark specialists, Grimsley strikes me as more mysterious than the other two. He has that secret personality that leaves you wondering "wow, I must know more about him!" and well, you can't because he wants to keep it that way. He's a Dark-Type trainer and he knows how to train them, that is all you should know. :P

What do you think of dark type pokémon?: Dark type pokemon are awesome, the way they are designed is pretty much just screaming I'm merciless.
Your Partners?: Bisharp and Houndoom
What type rules?: DARK TYPE RULES
Answer to current topic: If it's overall then Kotaro (Conquest), just because he looks awesome in rank 1 and just total badass in rank 2, plus he's my favorite from samurai warriors, if it's limited to main series then Grimsley, just because of how mysterious he is and how he looks like he was born to use dark types.

now that i've seen grimsley from the front, i sorta have this image of a creepy butler... ok, to the point. Grimsley's the best to me, coz i don't play conquest and i don't exactly have any experience with karen and sidney. i don't know but i think grimsley's ok, but thats just my opinion.

Yeah I agree with you guys! Grimsley seems to be the type of the person who looks like he owns dark-types, he's mysterious and he's a gambler so he's probably has taken risks before in his life. I wish he was more involved in the story of Gen V, but the amount we know about him gives him that mysterious feel which I like.

Hey everyone! So this club hasn't had a lot of lack of activity lately, so I thought of an idea that might help! So I decided we could have some events. The first one being a Create-a Dark-type Pokemon contest. I have no idea what the winner would get, but perhaps we could start a point system, or a I could give away a Pokemon (preferably a Dark type) or something. I'm gonna start the first event once we get more ideas, so please discuss some. I have some general rules in my head, but what ideas you guys have? Any idea suggestions for the Create-a-Dark-type contest or idea for any other events here in the club? I'd like to hear ideas so please don't be shy. Cause like the intro thread says, I don't bite. :) Thanks everyone.

Create as in.. draw or describe? Not everyone's an artist you know. :p
You could go for something like 'create' a new dark pokemon and it's name, signature move, what it's based on/what it represents, etc.

Either would be good If someone isn't good at drawing they could describe the Pokemon they created along with it's moves, name, signature move, stats, what's it based on and such. It's easier if people were to draw it out to get a better visual image of what it looks like, but either drawing or description is good. Though really, f they choose to draw, the drawing doesn't have to professionally done or very good, just as long as I can tell what it is.

I certainly can be of help. Maybe we all can think of features for our new dark type and maybe have someone with an image editing program create the composite image?

Anyway I want to apologize for my long intermission from activity in the club and like to make it up by being as active as possible :).

That sounds like a good idea, but I also would like to have a contest where everyone makes their own dark type too. But we could do your idea too maybe.

EDIT: How about a new topic as well to keep discussion about Dark-types flowing more. Please keep talking about idea for events and such too. I really want to start some events.

Do you think there should be a starter Pokemon that's part Dark? If so which of the three starter types (Grass, Water, Fire) you think would work best with a Dark-typing? If not, explain why.

Me personally, I honestly think there should be! I honestly hope Chespin's evos are either Grass/Dark (or Grass/Fighting) cause I think a Grass/Dark type starter would be awesome. And it makes me said that the only three Grass/Dark types are Cacturne , Shiftry and Nuzleaf. I think we need more.

I would definetely have to go with Chespin. Among all the new starters Chespin looks the coolest and most suitable to receive the legendary dark type.

And I agree, I think Chespin would make an EPIC dark type!! And I would definatly choose him.
But I would love a fire/dark starter in the future...that'll be cool :)

What do you think of Dark-Type Pokemon: There messengers of the night (most of the time). They completely eradicate every other type in the only way they know how, epicly.
Your partners: Weavile
(Up to two) What Types rule: Dark-Ice types
Answer the current topic: Dark and fire because its been fire fight for awhile and depending on what type of pokemon its the speed would be absolutely phenomenal, and not to mention the design of the pokemon. Maby even a red panda pokemon. Id pick that in a heart beat. And the shiny form would be purple and dark red or something.

Meganium April 29th, 2013 8:03 AM

I'd like to see a Water/Dark type. A Pokemon where it can live in dark water or swamps or deep inside coral caves on the bottom of the ocean. A water/dark type where it has the ability to see in the darkness underwater, and be able to swiftly hunt without any problem. Yep, that's a Pokemon I'd love to see! ;3

A Water/Dark would be cool when I say a Pokemon that can see in the darkness of Underwater makes me think like a cool version of Lanturn like a scarier version of an angular fish. Though you mean something else right?

Welcome to the club!!!

I'd love Fire/Dark too as a starter at least cause then it would break the Fire/Fighting pattern Fire starters have been given the last 3 generations. :( I'm so tired of that pattern so any typing different for the Fire starter I'd accept! Spinda's sort of a red panda imo , but I guess a more realistic looking panda would be cool.

Anyone one else have more ideas for events? I'd love to start something asap! Let me know on this thread or VM/PM me ideas. Thanks!

Do you think there should be a starter Pokemon that's part Dark? If so which of the three starter types (Grass, Water, Fire) you think would work best with a Dark-typing? If not, explain why.

Yes. I believe that Serperior is a good candidate for the dark-type. Look at it, it is an imposing royal snake. Snakes are dark [*ehem*garden of eden*ehem*] and royalty, with their haughtiness and look-down-upon-everybody attitude can be considered pretty dark. Plus, once it has access to several dark moves, like Nasty Plot, it will be a beast.

No apologizes. You should of been here more. No it's fine man.

Now that you think about it, Serperior would of made a great Grass/Dark type. It's a snake which are always regarded as evil , such as the snake in the Garden of Eden so adding a Dark-typing would make sense. Plus with the Dark-type move it can learn becoming STAB , it would greatly benefit from it.

Shiftry

SLAKING comes to mind. I mean, look at it. Yes, it is a snorer. Yes, it is lazy. Yes, it only attacks every other turn. You know what that reminds me of? One of the seven deadly sins: Sloth. Don't you think that being the pokemon incarnation of a concept that sends human to hell (according to Christian belief) is dark enough?n

Meganium May 1st, 2013 7:44 PM

Hypothetically, if not, impossible...Umbreon could make a part-electric type. The rings around its body glow in the dark when its in danger or smells fear, and lights up when it senses something. I think with those rings, they could produce a bit of electrical power, maybe a few electrical moves.

Well I meant Pokemon that weren't Dark types already to get an extra typing and become part Dark or their typing would change and be Dark and whatever other typing they may have. So like Lucario being changed to Steel/Dark or Fighting/Dark instead of Fighting/Steel or Luxray being Electric/Dark instead of just Electric. But the idea of Umbreon being Dark/Electric sounds cool and I like that idea of using its rings on its body to produce electricity. Really neat. :)

I'm Mightyena too apparently.

It somewhat describes me. But not entirely. Here's an idea. Everyone should take this quiz and post the results. This might be the new topic just not sure on that. But post your results here anyway!

This describes me in some ways, other personality traits I never knew I really had. But I guess this is who I truly am as a dark type- an Umbreon. I don't know what to think of it honestly, while there are good qualities I'm going "Do I really do those sorts of things?", nevertheless the quiz was fun to do. n_n

But did anyone else find that quiz extremely depressing?

I do, but not really extremely. It was all dark-type in its essence. Plus, some of the choices were so perfect you just had to answer them. not to mention the last choice in every question.

Treecko May 6th, 2013 6:32 PM

I did , but it was supposed to be cause Dark type aren't really the happiest type ever so I expected it to have some depressing questions.

Anyway new topic anyone?

wow, i didn't expect to see this club still alive! awesome!
yes, i am in fact already a member, but my last posts was somewhere in JANUARY 2012. my god.

in any case I HAVE RETURNED! and i did the test as well. i'm Weavile, even though i made sure to avoid any answer that explicitly mentioned ice... guess i'm just that cold a person.

as for topics, i'm sorry, i couldn't be bothered to answer all the topics i missed since then, so this will have to do.
DARKIFY A POKEMON:
the first pokemon that comes to mind for me is Granbull... simply because it's much too evil-looking not to be a DARKtype. but apart from that nothing comes to mind right now.
apart from that, when i first saw Lucario i seriously thought it was a DARK/FIGHTINGtype, rather than
FIGHTING/STEELtype. but oh well.

FAVOURITE DARKtype SPECIALIST?
Grimsley alllll the way.

also, could i have my partner Sableye's nickname changed into Stitch? hehe..

Oh wow that long ago. I can't believe this club's alive myself either.

I like the idea of Granbull being part Dark. I mean it's sinister looking so and looks like it could of been Dark/Normal which is a typing that needs to exist imo.

Ooh here's a topic:

If you could make a move Dark, which one would it be ? Explain.

I'm serious running out of ideas for topics.

And of course I can change your Sableye's nickname for you. :3

ナギ May 10th, 2013 11:44 AM

i know! that's over a year. dear lord.
thank you for the nickname change! c:

DARKIFY A MOVE?
... the first one that came to mind for me was Dream Eater, but honestly that sounds more like it should be a GHOSTtype move rather than DARKtype. but i do think DARK fits better than its current PSYCHIC typing.
other than that, maybe Slash, but i'm really grasping at straws here. maybe i'll come up with something better later.

What do you think of Dark-Type Pokemon: Dark types are tied for my favorite type. They are cool and mysterious, while possessing the offense in Pokemon like Weavile and Tyranitar, while also sporting defesive Pokemon, such as Mandibuzz and Umbreon. Design-wise, I cannot say I hate any existing Dark type Pokemon.

Answer the current topic: Confuse Ray. It's the sort of move that just seems fitting of Dark type Pokemon. Maybe that's just me.

Current topic: If you could make any (existing) Pokemon part Dark what would it be and why?

I'd probably make Luxray into an Electric/Dark type pokemon, for various reasons.
Luxray has a dark colored design, and he has that evil/dark expression on his face.
Also, it would be a new dual type, one I've been waiting for a long time now

THIS. i wholly agree. i honestly was really surprised when i had Luxray in Diamond and its Bite/Crunch DIDN'T get STAB! so disappointing. i hope they'll reconsider it, but it'll probably be left like this.

do you have any suggestions for moves that could/should be DARKtype?

Zorogami May 11th, 2013 9:11 AM

Yeah i totally agree with you, Bite/Crunch definitely fit Luxray and he should get STAB from them! I guess it's too late for a re-typing...too bad, he would have been perfect.

I actually read that and started to think, but i couldn't really come up with any good ideas :/
I guess Mean Look could be a dark type? Probably a bad example...
Or Perish Song? That's definitely an evil and obsucre move?!

Hmm, not sure if this is the current topic, but I thought I'd just go with the one in the first post. If you need me to answer a different one, I would be happy to do so. =)

~If I could make any pokemon a dark type, I think it would be a tie between Arbok, Seviper, and Luxray. They all just strike me as being part dark.

Darkifying a pokemon was a rather old topic some weeks ago? its rather funny to see it discussed rather than the new one. Anyway, topics are constantly changing from one thing to another so I'll give one that gives you sometime to reflect:

What are the characteristics that makes a Dark type? What identifies a Dark type that gives them their type match up?

For my answer, Dark types are characterized as sly, sneaky, vicious and deadly. All the pokemon asigned to Dark types really speak it. For me the reason that Ghost, fear, is weak to Dark is that dark types can easily overwhelm fear aslong as they can ensure that nothing can scare them now, and that is by being sneaky, fast and unnoticable. Psychic's weakness and uselessness against Dark can also be seen by its unpredictability and constant change of mind to ensure that things are incheck and working.

Welcome to the club all of you guys! I'm so sorry I haven't been here much, it's just too hard to even think of things to talk about here anymore. :(

Mithel_Celestia suggested a new topic so.

What are the characteristics that makes a Dark type? What identifies a Dark type that gives them their type match up?

I think they're characterized by their mischievous personality and how sly and deadly they are. Other types like Ghost and Psychic types are fearful of them and feel they aren't as strong or powerful as they are and feel weak in comparison. They have the perfect creepy persona that make a lot of Pokemon tremble.

^That's the current topic guys, so for not updating it in weeks. ._.

DARKtype CHARACTERISTICS & MATCHUP?
i agree with everything posted so far; especially because the DARKtype is called the あく, 'Evil/Demon' type in Japanese, i think it's pretty sure that their cunning, sly and vicious is what they are renowned for, and is the exact image they're designed to fit. Seeing as how GHOSTtypes are even weak to DARK power, it just illustrates even more that this evil is stronger than just spirits of the deceased or haunted mansions...
however their cleverness has a weakness; it simply cannot deal with the idiocy of no-brain FIGHTING and BUGtypes. [/besticouldcomeupwith] {XD}

also, since i didn't post mine yet and it seems nobody else had Weavile as of yet:

Answer the current topic:

I think the characteristics of a Dark type are slyness, viciousness, and deadliness. Ghost types are weak against them because, while Ghosts inspire fear in most, the Dark is far more feared because of the unknown that may be in it. Psychic types' weakness may be because of the unpredictability of the Dark, and how it can change in a second.

Attachment 68416 Fits me pretty well, actually. I think Mightyena fits me better though. Or maybe a mix between the two...?

Do you think any new Dark-types for Gen VI will be revealed soon? Do you think any will be revealed at the presentation at E3?
