My brother and I very often would exploit the cloning glitch (the one that occurs via trading), and then we would make a team of 6 Lv100 Mewtwo. I know that's kind of a "noob" thing to do by my standards today, but back then I loved it! I would make that team and use it in Pokemon Stadium, and I'd be nearly unstoppable. :)

Wow, I told myself to remember to vote in the poll, and what did I forget to do? Hahaha. *votes*
Also, I'm gonna try for the banner contest even though my bad banners are bad and I should feel bad. |
And with NightOfRemorse, that's two entries, plus myself. Yes, I am participating.
Note everyone: I have made one more final change to the contest. To remove any possible unnoticed bias from myself, I have decided to allow all members to vote on whose is the best. There will be a 4-day voting period starting midnight EST on Dec 28. No voting for yourself. |

Can you say over-powered Charizard? That's what I did! :) An over-powered Pokemon in any game is able to sweep the in-game foes. Gen I is no exception.
As of yet, we have four participants for the contest: Me, miltankRancher, ikarochase, and NightOfRemorse. Looking forward to seeing more submissions. :) |
Talking about overpowered, I used to play Red version and have a level 20 Charmeleon by Brock then a Charizard by Misty. That made sure i never lost
Muhahahahah >:D |

well, overleveled pokemon would really sweep, considering the great gap between wild Pokeomon and that SINGLE POKEMON THAT HAVE DEFEATED EVERY TRAINER IN THE REGION. |
Joining here as I'm a fan of the first pokemon. (captain obvious)
Username: Para-Dox Favorite Gen I Pokemon: All of the Nidoran line. Partner Pokemon: RHYDON the Nidoking |
Welcome, Para-Dox! You might wanna fix the username typo, though. XD
I must agree that the Nidos are pretty cool, among the most iconic Poison-types. I always loved them in the Pokemon Stadium rental Pokemon. |
I used a Nidoking once in my FireRed game. It was a beast! Megahorn plus Sludge Bomb plus Earthquake. \m/
|
Thinking back on the first gen, a lot of awesome pokemon were really pointless because they learnt nothing by leveling, like Rhydon and the Nido's. I found that quite disappointed.
|
That is understandable. With the lack of moves in existence, it is hard to distribute much power to Pokemon.
|
So, we're just 3 votes away from having enough eligible members to hold a WiFi-based event I've been planning since I started this club. Since all but one member have voted, we need to try and get more members!
On Pokemon not learning many moves in Gen I, omg yes. In the current gen, some stone-evolvers need to be kept unevolved until they learn certain moves. Back then, however, Pokemon like Clefairy had horrible level-up movesets, so they could be evolved immediately and taught TM moves. |
Stone evolution is pretty hard to decide now, since some Pokemon learn much stronger attacks at higher levels when unevolved.

OMG OMG MEWTWO. i love Mewtwo so much! Merry christmas guys!
|
In the first gen The only type that didn't have more than 3 stone evolutions that evolved by stone was Electric with only Pikachu and Jolteon.
Out of all the stone evolutions the eevee's were the best even with their poor move sets. Also Did anyone do the Slowpoke/Poliwag guys Mew cheat in Red/Blue/Yellow? |
vaporeon could utilize those moves pretty well, Jolteon is simply a speedy beast, and Flareon is hot. I guess.
Cheat? Nah. when I was playing that time, I am not familiar with any kind of cheat in Red. |
No, I didn't utilize the Mew Glitch myself. But, apparently my brother had, because I remember him having had a Mew. Also, it was interesting that in Pokemon Stadium, there was a trainer in Prime Cup (iirc) who had a Mew.
|
Well you obviously have the multiplication of item cheat.
But yeah there is an actual legit way to get Mew in the Gen I games without a gameshark or whatever. Granted i discovered this when i was young and don't care much for cheating at all |
I used to be an honest gamer. But then i took a cheat to the emulator.
