Hah, silly you! I hope you can fix it.

Anyway,
@ Topic:
What type of RNG abuse can you do? I can do every single type of RNG abuse in 4th Gen as well as in 5th Gen.
What are you interesting in learning how to do in the future? I want to learn 3rd Gen abuses, but I want too difficult stuff in the beginning - ID/SID abuse. I guess I'll jjust start with breeding since I have some cool pokemon to be bred (eg. Chansey or Gastly).

Cordelia April 1st, 2012 6:54 AM

Ugh, can't figure it out yet... so I took a break for a bit and did my challenge entry. The ultimate prankster!

As for the topic: I can do 5th gen capture, stationary, wondercard and breed. I'd love to learn how to do entralink. I also want to learn how to do HG as my HG just arrived in the mail. Maybe I should learn ruby abuse as wel.. Blade's gotta teach me!!

I might as well add to the discussion since I've finally gotten our first post fixed! Whoever turned it upside down is a big meanie!

What can I do? 5th gen eggs, capture, wondercards, roamers, entralink, id abuse, 4th gen eggs, captures, wondercards, roamers, headbutt, id abuse.

What do I want to learn? 5th gen shiny roamers, 4th gen Safari Zone abuse

Gonzo April 2nd, 2012 2:32 AM

Oh great! Mac fixed the CSS, well done!
And guys, my lil' baby just got delivered <3

be sure to see some French abuses soon *u*

greg0915 April 2nd, 2012 6:06 AM

What can I do?

5th Gen:
  • Breeding
  • Capture
  • Wondercards
  • ID/SID Abuse

4th Gen:
  • Breeding
  • D/P/PT Capture
  • Honey tree
  • ID Abuse

What do I want to learn?

5th Gen:
  • Roamers
  • Entralink
  • Shaking Spot

4th Gen:
  • Roamers
  • Headbutt
  • HG/SS Capture
  • Wondercard

Gonzo April 2nd, 2012 6:18 AM

greg0915, you know how to catch in HG/SS it's the same, the only (very tiny) difference is the delay verification and actually, it's easier than in DPPt :)

OK, did my challenge entry:

I did this because I love Furret! It's adorable and useful in Wi-Fi battles. This may sound weird, but it is a real warrior. The best way to fool your opponent is to use a Pokemon (s)he wouldn't expect. Who'd expect Furret? Exactly, NOBODY! Hatched at Bellchime Trail because the location is just as lovely as Sentret :3

Cordelia April 2nd, 2012 9:10 AM

Nice abuse, bro. I wanted to let everyone know to thank greg0915 for the amazing CSS that he wrote for us :) I hope you all enjoy it as much as I am!

EDIT: I had to change it because it started to hurt my eyes something fierce. :(

Gonzo April 3rd, 2012 12:19 AM

Well, at least he did fantastic leaderboard! I really like it, looks professional :D

Did one more abuse yesterday in my French SS, this one is wicked,:

Nice job on the abuse, Gonzo. I need to do some more id/sid abuse but I can't be f'd to beat my game again... -.- I hate that part of it all. Everyone, you have til tomorrow at midnight to complete the challenge if you are interested! :)

Very nice abuse, bro. I love that Japanese black! :D I bet you're loving it as well.

I just wanted to let you know how we're going to do Owner's Choice. I will be choosing the one from this challenge, but I am not allowed to choose my own, of course. Blade will choose the next and Gonzo the one after. It will then rotate between me, Blade, and Gonzo afterwards.

oocyst April 4th, 2012 6:39 AM

Man I want that Rayquaza, but I'm too broke to buy anything right now. It looks so amazing!

So while Gonzo got his Japanese and French games, I got an english HG! Should I RNG my ID? If yes, how? What spreads should I get? Oh and is it only if I want shiny legends, because I don't really want those.. I'm too inexperienced for this ;; I haven't even done everything on my Black yet :(

ALSO PICK ME

Don't beg. :P There's a guide on Smogon, but I'll have to find it. It's pretty easy to do, if you know how to hit delay. I would try to work on HGSS rng on your flash cart first though to get used to hitting delay.

I did two new B/W breeds over the past week. I really wanted these for my competitive teams, and I wanted a replacement for the Timid flawless I did earlier (because it didn't have the moves/HP I needed).

Oh damn, I didn't even think about that :( Now due to being OCD I will have to redo them. xD Time to remove them from my thread. Thanks for pointing that out. Nice ID abuse... I hate BW ID abuse, for some reason I am not very good at it xD

I'd like to congratulate Rednael for RNGing the first Owner's Choice with his amazing Volbeat! Congratulations!

Reasoning: For one, it has Prankster AND Trick... and it has many amazing egg moves. This one just really stood out and I couldn't pass it up for the combination of wonderful things it has to offer. Overall, a very good abuse.

Here's the next challenge!

RNG a Pokemon that's gotten better OR worse with age! This would be a Pokemon that was introduced and either has improved or gotten worse in a later generation.

TwilightBlade is the judge for this one and it was her idea for the challenge. :) Good luck and have fun!

New discussion topic:

What do you like to do with your RNG'd Pokemon? Do you EV train them and battle with them, or something else?

Gonzo April 5th, 2012 12:39 PM

Yay! Rednael, congrats! (Your abuse was my favourite as well)

@ Current topic:
I EV them only if asked for EVd Pokemon or I want to use them competitively. Mostly, they just become .pkm files on my PC and are waiting until traded or trained.

Also, I tried starter abuse in 5th Gen and succeeded!

This easily won my heart. <3

Discussion topic: What do you like to do with your RNG'd Pokemon? Do you EV train them and battle with them, or something else?
I do all kinds of things to my RNGd Pokemon. Some are EV trained to beat up in-game trainers (Ferrothorn). Some are used in battle facilities / tournaments (Gengar, Vaporeon, Starmie). Some are EV trained, rare candied, and become my Fly slave (Volcarona and Kyurem). Some are used in my in-game teams (Azumarill, Steelix). Some are perpetually boxed, regardless of being UT or EVd, until they are to be traded. Geez have I exhausted every possibility yet?? I feed foul poffins to some!

hey sup folks!
Friendly tip on this week's challenge: While this challenge largely emphasizes how a particular Pokemon has competitively improved/worsened throughout the generations, I understand that some members don't care for battling. For that reason, feel free to RNG abuse a Pokemon you feel differently about since its inception. Be sure to explain why a Pokemon gradually grew on you (or vice versa). Remember to have fun! Looking forward to eating the cookies k.

Cordelia April 5th, 2012 4:15 PM

Discussion topic: I usually EV the ones that I want to battle with because I find it fun to try to compete with others and it gives me a certain sense of pride to use my own RNG'd mons. It's a lot of fun for me :) It also helps pass the time at work to annihilate the Battle Subway with them ;)

My challenge entry:

http://www.pokecheck.org/i/itm/004.pnghttp://sprites.pokecheck.org/sicon/37.pnghttp://www.pokecheck.org/i/itm/004.png

When Ninetales received its DW Ability, Drought, it changed the metagame and instantly was put in the OU tier at the heart of many sun teams. This one is the specially defensive variant so that Ninetales can stay in longer and keep on fighting the weather battle. I gave it two egg moves, Disable and Heatwave, which I think would help... but most likely I'd replace Heat Wave with Fire Blast. All in all, this is one of my favorite Pokemon that got a much needed boost in Gen 5.

NU in DPPT -> OU in BW

Also, I did a timid variant and named it after my pair. :)

Discussion Well, I intend to EV train and battle with my RNG'd pokemans, but at the moment I'm having a little trouble.

I've been trying all day to hit a shiny Litwick with perfect IVs in the wild (2F Celestial Tower), I've heard that shiny RNG breeding is easier, but I figured I'd try for this first. My problem is as follows: No matter what I do, I can never land on the PID frame for the shiny, it's on frame 132, after three attempts of advancing 70 frames from frame 62 (I'm definitely certain it's my starting frame) I always landed on 134, after trying to advance 69 frames, I landed on frame 131. Going off the pitches of the Chatot cries I overshot by four to 136. Is there something special about advancing the PIDRNG more than 70 frames? I'm using RNG Reporter 9.95, standard method on a DS Lite, Pokemon Black (English).

Nevermind, turns out the NPCs wanted to advance my frame just as I hit the shiny frame, and only on that frame.

vaporeon7 April 6th, 2012 2:09 PM

Darn it Mac, I was going to do Vulpix.

Challenge complete. Cloyster was never a bad Pokémon. In fact, it was OU in the first three generations. It then fell down to UU in D/P but it still was a decent Pokémon. The reason why I've chosen Cloyster for this challenge though is because of the major boost it got in B/W, Shell Smash. It turned Cloyster from what was once a Pokémon that was mainly used to set up and spin away Spikes into one of the most dangerous sweepers in the game. Cloyster is now back in OU with little chance of moving anytime soon.

And my main prize! I finally did this one, and I gotta say, it's a LOT better than my last Wondercard fiasco RNG.

As for the topic, I honestly don't know what to do with what I RNG. I RNG'd something for an in-game team, so obviously that's what it's being used for, but my other RNG'd Pokemon are just sitting in the box. I plan to clone some and train one and have the others up for trade. Though idk when I'll get the time to train them. XD I'd like to EV what I RNG since I work for those and I feel they deserve to be trained better than other Pokemon, but it's not like I have people to battle here, so idk. I guess I'm an evil collector.

Indeed, Zippy the shiny Litwick is the first of 5 shinies I intend on adding to my team, currently I'm trying to hatch a shiny Axew. I think I'm starting to get the hang of this.

...I wonder if anyone would pay money for flawless shinies...

Sydian April 6th, 2012 7:12 PM

No, no one's gonna pay you real money for them, I'm afraid. You can start a trade thread though. That's close enough, haha.

Cordelia April 6th, 2012 7:25 PM

We only encourage Pokemon for Pokemon trades here anyway. Vaporeon, very nice RNG there. I like Shellder a lot, but he's hard for me to use competitively. It always faints before it can be too useful. And Sydian! Wonderful job on both of them, especially that beautiful Rayquaza. :D I am proud!

Onto the next pokeman, is it possible to RNG a flawless, shiny Magikarp from the salesman in B/W?

Yes, it's a gift Pokemon.

Picked because our favorite HM slave got probably one of the briefest 15 minutes of fame in gen V. Heck, less than 15 minutes. Although this one doesn't have it, Moody made Bibarel MUCH better, but sadly, the ability got banned. :( Smeargle also suffered this too, however Smeargle wasn't hurt as bad as our chubby friend here. So yeah!

All very good and lovely choices for the challenge. :)

Here's what I managed to do for the challenge. First try ended in a white-out after tossing ~95 Dive Balls. Second try was caught MUCH quicker, but it actually had the wrong IVs. I was misled by its Jolly nature and 31 IVs in speed. My bad. Final try, after reorganizing the capturing team, my agony ended.

Elgyem, Modest + Adamant, for synchronising
Volcarona (M), Modest, 31/-XX/31/+31/31/31

I would do the thing with the pretty pictures and sprites and stuff, but I can't because I don't have 15 posts yet. Oh wells.

Is that a solid effort for a day's worth of Pokemon?

Most of us don't RNG that much in a week or a month! xD Nice work... keep them coming! You should take a look at our challenge and see if it's something you're interested in participating in. :)

I did the challenge! Didn't exactly get what I wanted but it doesn't really matter that much.

Destrodon

So I chose Gastrodon because he had a huge change of power with the coming of Drizzle Politoed, being a great rain counter in sand teams, and a great supporter in rain teams. It shifted from NU to OU, which is an amazing change!

Will you allow me to hijack your thread once more with my questions? D:
There are some things I still don't understand.
When I click Generate in rng reporter, looking for wild pokemon, it'll come up with results just fine and tell me the seed and time/date stuff. Then I do the pidrng stuff to make sure it's shiny and whatnot.
Then the guide tells me to save in the area of the Pokemon, but how exactly do I know where/what that Pokemon is?

Also, I have no idea how i'm supposed to read the Encounter Slot chart D:
What are the numbers at the top, and what are the numbers next to the Pokemons names?

And when it tells me to catch that first Pokemon, check it's IVs and stuff to see how many chatter advancements I need to do, how do I know if it's right? It says it'll be in the first 10 from my starting frame, so do I just make sure the IVs are close to the Pokemon i'm looking for, and then choose the item in the list with the same nature?

It's not hijacking when one of the purposes of this thread is to help people with abusing the RNG. ^^ You either save in front of a Stationary Pokemon (make sure you have Type: Stationary chosen in time finder), or in the grass where the wild Pokemon that you want to encounter is (Type: Wild). The encounter slot chart is pretty simple once you understand it, but at first yes it can be quite menacing. The numbers from the top 0 to 11 notate each encounter slot. Every Pokemon in that column is in that encounter slot. The numbers beside the Pokemon's name are the level for that Pokemon in its encounter slot. They are broken up in rows by location.

With capture RNG, if you hit your seed, your IVs will always be the same, so you would just match the nature/characteristic/ability/gender to the chart.

I hope this helps :)

institutions April 8th, 2012 5:17 PM

So, say I find a seed that looks good. I'd look at the encounter slot of that seed/pokemon, and then could find any one of the Pokemon in that column of the encounter slot chart and it'd have those IVs/nature/etc.?

Like, I find a good seed and see it's got encounter slot 4. Since i'm doing wild grass pokemon on Black, I could go to Desert Resort and get a Maractus, Route 13 and get a Solrock, Wellspring Cave and get a Roggenrola (etc etc), and they'd all match what I found in RNG Reporter?

Yes as long as you hit your seed and timer0. :)

BTW everyone I am extending the challenge by two days to hopefully give some people some more time to participate. :)

Even though Magikarp has always been rather... lackluster, it seems to have grown on you quite a bit! Also, Gyarados was UU in Gen 1 and 2, then moved to OU afterward... nice job :)

Coincidentally I'm playing around with the idea of a Magikarp with a focus sash and flail, all I'd need was a baton passer to give it 3 swords dances. But this is for a different thread.

Hahaha... now that would be quite amusing to watch indeed. B) I haven't been RNGing too much lately, been working a LOT... and also now at my parents house until Thursday watching their house and dogs while they're out of town. I did two SS BPs (two Eevees) but I haven't uploaded them to Pokecheck just yet. I have some 5th gen BPs to do as well. Hopefully can get to those soon.

Sydian April 10th, 2012 8:42 AM

That will work, actually. There's a video of a Magikarp taking out a team of ubers with that strategy. Needs Smeargle support. ;)

oocyst April 10th, 2012 12:47 PM

I saw that before, get a smeargle with belly drum and baton pass that to magikarp, get it to 1 hp with focus sash and then flail everything to death.

Okay back to rng stuff now! I decided to rng volcarona because I hadn't yet!

my entry:

http://sprites.pokecheck.org/s/123.gifhttp://users.smogon.com/mingot/loraksballs/Nest.png
IVs: 30/31/31/13/31/31 || Ablility: Technician || Nature: Jolly

So 4th Gen brought some cool stuff for this o'd Bug-type Buddy - Techinician. Also, it got bunch of cool moves including Bug Bite and Roost which are very useful on 5th Gen spread I want it to run:
6HP/252 Atk/252 Speed @ Eviolite
Swords Dance/Roost/Bug Bite/Aerial Ace

The best thing is that Scyther gets awesome defences with eviolite, Swords Dance boosts it Attack to horribly high level, and it's dual STAB combo gives it awesome coverage. this is meant to be flat set, so it won't get hurt by Stealth Rocks. Roost is for tanking hits. IMO, Scyther can compete with his older brother - Scizor. It aged very, very well. I hope my Pokemon will be useful in battles!

Cordelia April 10th, 2012 7:13 PM

My recent RNGs... yeah, I've done just a few lately. Most have been BPs, actually... but I can't trade them too easily right now due to working way too much. Fifth gen breeding... gotta love it ;)

Spoiler:
My pick for this week's challenge: Gonz0's Scyther
Great color, format and matching ball. I like how he listed the actual EV spread + moveset in addition to explaining the strategy. Scyther is an age-old Pokemon who began its young career attacking with Slash/Hyper Beam. Yikes! Scyther gained the impressive Scizor, but both manage to gradually improve over time by gaining many new toys (Technician + BB/Roost + exclusive eviolite). For these reasons, I feel this entry is more distinguished from others and fully represents the challenge. Cheers.

Lots of good entries (I built a quick criteria and everyone was fairly close in points, haha!).

Gonzo April 10th, 2012 10:46 PM

OMG! Thanks, Blade! You really made my day! :3
Mac, nice abuses! I like Poochyena and Abra the most ;)
Time for the new challenge:

Heavy Slam Challenge!
Heavy Slam is a move, that gains power when the user overweights its opponent. RNG a Pokemon which - in your opinion - would make a good use of the move. Heavy Slam is a new move - introduced in 5th Gen and it's limited to only few Pokemon, so you have to RNG a possible or actual user of the move. And don't forget, that Heavy Slam has it's Fire equivalent!

This time, I am judging, so I'm going to focus not on the actual weight but on your reasons why you chose that Pokemon not another. Heavy Slam sounds more catchy that Heat Crash, but don't hestitate to abuse possible users of that move as well! Good luck, everyone!

CrazyMrHans April 11th, 2012 2:11 AM

Ability: Thick Fat
IVs: 31, 31, 31, 9, 31, 31 Dark 59
EVs: Untrained
Moves: Tackle, Curse, Pursuit, Whirlwind
Non-Redis

Munchlax is the baby evolution of the former king of the heavyweights, but now is only the sixth heaviest Pokemon -- Snorlax. Snorlax actually learns heavy slam, but he's also been known for being a lazy, fat Pokemon. I thought his baby form would be an excellent choice for this challenge because Munchlax is actually quite the viable Pokemon himself with the item Eviolite. I tacked on three egg moves thanks to Rampardos -- Curse, Pursuit, and Whirlwind to give him some variety if one wants to go different ways.

I can't wait to see everyone else's abuses! Good luck and have fun all. :)

CrazyMrHans April 11th, 2012 11:50 PM

I need to RNG a flawless cacnea for breeding with spikes and what not. What's the best way to go about this? Would I be better off importing one with dodgy IVs and breeding in B/W, or is it better to generate it in Diamond?

Gonzo April 12th, 2012 12:26 AM

Mac! I like Munchy a lot, nice egg moves, you're the leader of the challenge now, lol. (if you know what I mean)

@CrazyMrHans,
You can't get it RNGed in Diamond, sadly. Sandstorm doesn't advance frames, but blocks Sweet Scent, and there's no way to get rid of sand :< get a crappy cacnea from 4th Gen and RNG it in BW.

You can't get it RNGed in Diamond, sadly. Sandstorm doesn't advance frames, but blocks Sweet Scent, and there's no way to get rid of sand :< get a crappy cacnea from 4th Gen and RNG it in BW.

Of course I'm the leader of the challenge, I'm the only entrant right now! xD

It's harder, but it's also because it's different. I like it (especially HGSS RNG), but it's nice to go back to BW sometimes due to the ease of use.

I wouldn't say that much harder xD trololo

God dangit. Before I even try I have a quick question, how difficult is it to get a breeding pokeman from the DW, *SPOILERS* I need an Aron with heavy metal for the competition. I don't know if I'll have the time to get one that can breed, what with the time restrictions on the challenge and whatnot, I'd like to know if it's relatively simple or not.

tl;dr Aron w/ heavy metal from DW, possible within a few days?

Sydian April 12th, 2012 9:42 AM

That ability isn't available though.

What are your speculations about B2W2's RNG mechanics? Will they change or remain the same? If you think they would change, how?

Mac told me they'd be exactly the same, so I'm sticking with that. xD

Just posting a complete idiot moment - I missed my time three times in a row for the current challenge by hitting 32 instead of 37. I kept thinking "two seconds past the dot..." but it was the wrong dot lmao. So yeah, thick moment, time to catch my Scoli!

HERE IS MY ENTRY TO THE CHALLENGE

http://www.serebii.net/blackwhite/pokemon/304.png
Aron
Rock Head|Adamant
31|31|31|0|31|31
Tackle|Head Smash|Earthquake

I chose aron because I think he'd be a great user of heavy slam, as he is the heaviest user of Heavy Slam that gets STAB from it! It doesn't really need Heavy Metal because it's already in the second heaviest tier. Heavy slam is even on some of his sets, but if you want you can use Iron Head for consistency.

Samboanoritzon April 12th, 2012 12:50 PM

Hi, I just started RNG abuse only yesterday. After countless attempts I appear to be beaten. I tried to RNG a flawless Kyurem using different frames but still, everytime I catch it, it doesn't have flawless IVs. At first, I setup my DS parameters following a guide on YouTube. This is what im trying to search:

Method: IVs (Standard Seed)
Encounter Type: Stationary Pokemon
Min/Max Frame:
1/5
IVs all 31 except def and that's it

Basically, what am I doing wrong? Is the method selected correct? Is the encounter type also correct for capturing Kyurem?

I'm sorry to sound like a NOOB, but I really want to succeed at this and half the guides on the interwebz at the moment confuse me/aren't simple enough. And some people's guides have outdated RNG reporters, which is confusing also.

Thanks!

Edit: I would upload a picture, but, this is my first post... :Z

For the challenge: RNGed a shiny Venipede in Lostlorn Forest and leveled it up to 30 with rare candies. It has 31/31/31/30/30/31 in IVs (UT) and was caught in a dive ball. I don't think there's anything else interesting to say about it but yeah, there we go! Oh, plus its male. Scolipede is perfect for using Heavy Slam! It's a huge fatty that can roll up into a big ball of fat and just be obese all over people! Plus it's the heaviest Bug type and it looks freaking badass.

I really hope it stays the same and I really think it will, since I believe it's built on the same engine as Black and White... so looks like it should be similar, if that's true at least. I'm interested to find out, that's for sure. The leak of CoroCoro definitely has piqued my interest for B2W2, though.

I am going to ask one question for now and hopefully this will nail the problem. Which IVRNG frame (where you search the capture tab for IVs) is your seed on? If it's on anything but 1, you will have issues right now.

I have tried it about 3-4 times on Frame 1 and I also tried it twice with a frame of 4 (I had 4 pokemon in party and walked 128 steps).

Edit: I tried RNG abusing a Shiny Flawless and I'm currently struggling through the Chattot advancements. I'm fairly certain I was 1 frame away from my Shiny which kind of sucks but oh well I'll keep trying.

Try IV Frame 1 only. It's easier, and there are less factors that can mess up your abuse.

Get well soon, Sydders :( And get your work done! We'll be here when you get back feeling well and not as busy. I know how it feels to be too busy to do anything... it's not fun at all. Thanks for the post though and I hope my PM wasn't too annoying xD

Discussion: I think that the B2W2 abuse will be the same, if not very similar. I'm basing this off conversations with Bond697 and Kaphotics... both who are confident that it will be the same. And even if it isn't, they know so much about RNG mechanics now that it should be cracked very quickly. Such encouraging news! I can't wait for B2W2!!

Gonzo April 14th, 2012 10:24 AM

OK, time for my entry :3

shiny, male, lvl 70 http://justinzollars.com/images/french_flag.jpeg
http://sprites.pokecheck.org/s/485.gifhttp://users.smogon.com/mingot/loraksballs/Heal.png
Ability: Flash Fire || Nature: Timid || OT: Camilla 30703

I picked Heatran because it's really heavy! 7th heaviest Pokemon. Add both Heavy Slam and Heat Crash packed with STAB and that would make the lava monster even more hot thread than it is already! It doesn't learn any of those though and is more Special than Physical. Ball matches shininess and eye colour :3

Well, there are only three other entries, so I don't have a wide pool to choose from, go RNG something, do it for me :3

Aaron | 06293 | White
Brave | Levitate | 31 31 31 30 31 0
Trick Room, Explosion, Stone Edge, Earthquake

For this challenge I thought out of the box for a bit and chose Solrock. Solrock isn't the heaviest Pokémon but it still is pretty heavy. It can use a range of fire type moves, so I thought it might be a good user of Heat Crash. It has Levitate so I figure it can just float above a Pokémon and use Heat Crash on top of it. Also it's the Meteorite Pokémon so that just shows that it has experience of crashing into things from the sky and crushing them.

Lovely entries, everyone! I'm really digging the dive ball Scolipede. ;)
Unfortunately, I don't think I'll do this one. :c

CrazyMrHans April 15th, 2012 9:42 AM

With regard to the discussion, I really hope they make easier to RNG on the 3DS/DSi, from what I've heard and researched it's a real ***** to do.

Now onto business!

OK, so this is an Onix. Since I don't have any friends it isn't evolved into a Steelix yet, but consider it as such. Right, so, Steelix is one big mother, weighing in at 400kg it's doing 120 damage with STAB (so 180; woo maths) to about uhm 509 of the total 649 pokemon in the game. Unfortunately it doesn't have the ability to learn Head Smash, but it can still make use of Rock Head by Double-Edging your face as well. "But, whatever shall we do about the 140 other pokemans?" Well, hypothetical stupid head, just double-edge them, you ain't takin' no recoil damage. "But what about ghost ty-" SHUT UP. Dusknoir? Spiritomb? Those jokers are RU tier anyway, but even still, Heavy Slam does 120 damage against them (80+STAB).
Seriously, this guy will wreck your sh*t. Also, this.

Uhh, howto youtube embed?

Samboanoritzon April 16th, 2012 7:45 AM

So after RNGing some wild pokemon (deino + roggenrola) I decided to start breeding. I literally just RNG this:

Charmander (m) Timid nature
IV's: 31 | 22 | 31 | 31 | 31 | 31
Scratch, Growl, Flamethrower, Sunny Day

Gonzo April 16th, 2012 7:52 AM

Samboanoritzon, why don't you try taking part in our challenge? Would be great if you did! Details in the first post, have a try! :)

Munchlax (NN Grubas)♂
Adamant
Thick Fat
31/31/31/31/31/31

Well, there is nothing that awesome about this, it's my first RNG after a really biiiiiig break and I'm still lazy :cer_shifty:
The true story about this poke:
- Hmmm..Heavy Slam, so it has to be heavy and learn Heavy Slam
*opens pokedex*
- Snorlax? May be Snorlax..
- But nah, he is to mainstream, so will be Munchlax.

The natures were chosen like "Hmmm... maybe I will use this someday.. or not" and..

yea, I'm lazy and not as awesome as you guys ._."

Edit: I forgot, about the NN, Grubas means Fatty in polish >.>

I love that Solrock, Vappy. ;o; It's so sunny and great. And lol I was gonna do Onix, but I've been so busy with school and now someone else has done it and my life is ruined. </3 So I'll either find something heavy real quick-like or wait out till the next challenge. ;(

Sturdy | Relaxed
Cedric | 26099
31/31/31/31/31/0
[ Fire Fang, Stealth Rock, Heavy Slam, Smack Down ]
-hatched in Challenger's Cave-

I had this guy picked out since the challenge was posted, but I have been busy with a project, plus I wasn't sure how to approach getting that egg move on there. Thanks to Mac for the parent btw! I picked Steelix because I've always thought it was a massive brute of a Pokemon. Look at it! Its head has to be most of its weight. It's almost among the super heavy weights. Plus, I wanted to go out of the way to get that Heavy Slam on it since it is, after all, the Heavy Slam Challenge. Everything else I wanted to say about Steelix has already been said though, especially about the power of its Heavy Slam. There's not much in RU that can withstand all that weight Steelix brings to the table. So yeah, Stallord the Steelix! Got the name from the boss of Arbiter's Grounds in Twilight Princess. Bit of a Zelda craze lately, haha.

Gonzo April 16th, 2012 11:31 PM

And the winner is...
Spoiler:
Vaporeon7's Solrock!
Although there were much heavier entrants, I really liked Vaporeon7's creative explanation. Solrock doesn't have the greatest weight nor STAB boosted Fire moves, but as Vaporeon7 wrote: it's a meteorite and has some experience in crashing into stuff. Actually, that part of explanation was crucial and bought me. the real unSTABbed Blazing fury!

Congratulations to the winner and all who participated! I hope all of you enjoyed this challenge, time for another one:

The trusty talisman Challenge!
RNG a Pokémon you've always relied upon. What about that Pokémon motivates you to where it never seems to leave your side?

CrazyMrHans April 17th, 2012 1:07 AM

Woohoo, first!

Thumper http://www.pokecheck.org/i/shiny.png | Level 20
Hans | 12288 | Black
Adamant | Intimidate | 31 31 31 XX 31 31
EVs: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 6 idgaf
Splash, Tackle, Bite

This is my Gyarados, sixth in a long line of Thumpers before her. Since Pokemon Emerald, all of my parties have had a Gyarados in them. Why? Can't be terribly sure, probably because they're just so awesome. I mean, come on, you take a Magikarp, whallop some wimpy little pokemon over the head with it long enough and it turns into a goddamn sea serpent from hell. It also helps that Gyarados is one of the better non-uber pokemon, with it's pretty high 125 base attack it's my favourite physical sweeper in the game. Gyarados also possesses the highest base stat change between two of any evolutionary forms, that is to say, when it evolves from magikarp, it's average base stat rises by 340 points. With it's capability to learn earthquake, Gyarados also has perfect coverage from any bad type match-ups you may face. Gyarados was also the very first pokemon that I trained to level 100, shortly thereafter my save file broke and the original Thumper was lost forever. :( He's sweeping the elite four in a better place now.

But anyway, with it's amazing stats for a non-uber, it's brilliant movepool and total badassery, Gyarados is what I regard as my trusty talisman pokemon.

vaporeon7 April 17th, 2012 5:11 AM

What are your speculations about B2W2's RNG mechanics? Will they change or remain the same? If you think they would change, how?
I would really hope and assume that they would stay the same, learning RNGing in B/W was hard enough, but to have to learn a whole new way would be annoying, seeing as how I want and need to learn 4th gen still.

Also for fellow Mac (the computer kind lol) users, PPRNG 1.10.0 is out now.

And does anyone know a good tutorial for Gen IV RNGing for Macs or someone that could teach me? Everyone that I find is for Windows.

But seriously, http://www.serebiiforums.com/showthread.php?534245-*Revamped-RNG-Discussion-Help-Thread fourth post, try that. It looks pretty legit but I can't verify because I don't own a Mac. You could also try running RNG Reporter through Mono, but again, I haven't the foggiest idea of how you'd go about that.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Good luck, I guess.

That's for 5th gen RNG ^^;

My OS is Windows, I wish I could help.

Apparently the basics are the same from what I've read, but again, I've never used it, so I have no idea. Sorry.

Whoopsie, I only skimmed through it :L

Further on the discussion, I can't see them making RNG any harder in B2/W2. What with the introduction of the Masuda method and how much easier RNG is in B/W when compared to the others, if anything it'll get easier. The way it is now is good, I think, it's very time consuming, but fairly straightforward once you learn the basics.

Umbreon! Ever since I saw it up for rental in Pokemon Stadium 2, it's been my favorite Pokemon of all time. Shocking, isn't it? Most people would think Petilil. In Pokemon Stadium 2, Umbreon was always that Pokemon that could survive the Explosion or Self-Destruct that my other Pokemon fell to. In Platinum, when I didn't have anything to rely on, it took out 2 ubers as well as a Typhlosion that were all way overleveled compared to it. This particular one is basically my dream Pokemon. Midnight is the name of what I would have named the Umbreon in Pokemon Stadium 2. I couldn't make a rental team without it. It wasn't shiny (though Umbreon's 3D animation has it pass back and forth between normal and shiny coloration sort of), but it was what I consider to be my first Umbreon, and so that's what this one here represents. I could always rely on it then, in Colosseum, Silver, Gale of Darkness, Platinum, SoulSilver, you name it. I've had too many Umbreon to count. Umbreon is my trusty talisman, trump card, and favorite Pokemon. <3
