One reply to this perfect thread?

I don't like this forum anymore. I don't think these people understand how wonderful this is.

Spoiler:
Korra <3 My instant favorite character. She is a boss. She's super epic in how she could bend 3 elements at a young age! She's tough, definitely physically, but she still fights to defend others when she sees injustice. She has been sheltered and kept away near the south pole for training but she knows what's up. Props to her for beating up those thugs, haha. That was a beautifully animated fight. Korra's weakness is her "lack of restraint" so I hope that really becomes a prominent theme later. She's just too boss in the beginning. She's gotta have room for development, haha.

Katara lives! Sokka doesn't. :( I love how Katara supports Korra in her decision to go to Republic City, despite Tenzin's disapproval. Also, LOL at the writers teasing about what really happened to Zuko's mom like omfg why didn't Katara tell us!

TENZIN. Another instant favorite. His expressions make me lmao. He's very calm and serious about his job/role in Republic City. He's like, the opposite of Aang. Tenzin's kids are very silly, though. Still, Tenzin is so sweet for letting Korra stay with him in Republic City for training. ALSO, new flying bison? yip yip. :3

Toph's daughter... Not my personal favorite. Her expression of "I got my eye on you" and whatnot to Korra was hilarious ahaha. I do like how the Republic City police use metalbending. That's all Toph's legacy. ^_^

Overall story... Looks interesting. I really like the progression into a more modern world - cars and all. First episode revealed the (main?) antagonist - Amon - leader of some anti-bender group. Great set up for something cool. I'm definitely getting a feeling of this bender vs. nonbender theme.

Lol @ homeless guy and his beautiful home in the bushes in the park O__O

I can't wait for Mako's debut. <33

Looking forward to April. :)

The pilot wasn't "amazing" to me, but it certainly lived up to my expectations. It's just as promising as its preceedor was. 'm looking forward to April.

And for those of you who aren't sure if you should watch this series too, I definately recommend it. It lives up to all Avatar fans' expectations unlike M. Night's movie.

Masterge77 March 20th, 2012 4:43 AM

I'm so hyped up for this, I'm going to pull out all my Avatar DVD's (I have the complete series on DVD, really big fan) and watch the series all the way through again (even the episodes I didn't like)

I thought it was amazing. I love some of the cameos too like the statues of
Spoiler:
Toph, and Aang
. I recently watched all of Avatar: The Last Airbender this year, I couldnt wait till Korra to be release Im so happy it got leaked early so we can hope to expect a decent Sequal/spinoff. But im more hyped on seeing if Korra goes into a spirit state to talk with Aang that would be such a good cameo.

Wings Don't Cry March 22nd, 2012 7:37 PM

I saw the pilot and I am rather amazed at how quickly the world can repopulate without the Fire Nation burning everyone. Definitely into the Korra thing but I'm not too fond of Republic City, can't wait to see Korra go avatar mode and destroy it. We all know it's going to happen.

ソラ March 23rd, 2012 9:02 PM

The first 2 episode is combined at Korranation's website, its the actual premier of it online, its not leaked, its the real deal. God I cant wait till April

Spoiler for Episode 2 basically.
Spoiler:
It's true Mako has a bit of a Zuko vibe, and Bolin reminds me alot of Sokka. Tenzin..God damn ,Tenzin I love him, I love his red faced anger showing when he is pissed, its funny, Tenzin is serious but he has showed his non serious side in Ep2

I have to say this is a great sequel so far, from the trailer it'll get better. I cant wait till April now. SO HYPPPPPPPED!

Nick March 24th, 2012 6:39 AM

Rooooaaarr episode 2 was just as amazing as episode 1! I loved it when everything suddenly clicked for her in the probending match. That was certainly the highlight of the episode for me. And am I the only one sensing some Mako x Korra vibes? Eh? Ehhhh?

Yoshikko March 24th, 2012 1:03 PM

Omgggg I just started watching this today together with my friend and we LOVEDD it, both episodes!
Spoiler:
Episode 2 was even better than episode 1, hahahah it was so cOOL when she got the hang of that air movement thing in the last round, we watched that part twice!! And I love Tenzin he's amazing XD My friend actually thought Mako was related to Zuko, you know their eyecolour is the same and they have the same attitude, and he's a firebender so maybe who knows!

Clip from what I assume is episode 3.

Overlord Drakow April 14th, 2012 1:09 AM

I could not find it on any of the Nickelodeon channels today. Guess the release date is further away for the UK.

I'll just stream the episodes then but I wanted to watch on the big screen TV V_V

Cid May 6th, 2012 1:51 AM

I wish this thread had more activity.

Has anyone watched the most recent episode yet? Lots of action there, and some of the main cast show off incredible stunts. I generally love the series so far. There are many things I'm looking forward to, in fact. I only hate a few of the characters and some situations presented but it's all good.

Cherrim May 6th, 2012 8:44 PM

I like that this series seems to be getting its shipping wars out of the way early on. I never watched the original series as it was airing, but a lot of my Livejournal friends did when I was active there and I seriously thought the show was more about romance than everything else considering how vocal people were about the relationships. :P I do hope that everything that happened in the latest episode doesn't make things awkward at all going on from here. :( I kind of just like the friendship that the brothers were developing with Korra and I don't want to see that marred no matter what happens.

I like this series a lot so far though. It doesn't quiiite have the charm that I really liked when I watched Avatar earlier this year (I actually only finished it like two weeks ago) but I love Bolin and he makes up for anything that misses the mark with me. *u* He's such a cutie.

Sydian May 6th, 2012 8:55 PM

Pabu is the real cutie, Erica! Now shoo! Anyway, I really like this series. Getting up on Saturday to watch it is SO nostalgic and reminiscent of getting up to watch Avatar with my sister when I was younger and then talk about it all day. Now we spam Facebook with it, lol. It doesn't have the same charm that Avatar had, but maybe that's because I'm older now. The humor is still all there and I love it. The writing is great, in both Avatar and Korra. I'm a big fan of the 1920's industrialization in Republic City, but you can still see old clashing with new and where technology hasn't yet reached some places (Water Tribe seemed like it was in Avatar, honestly).

As for the shipping, I think the romances are a bit forced and introduced too soon. But, in comparison to Avatar, I think the situation then was more dire, so romance could afford to be put off a bit longer than it is in Korra. That's not to say the situation isn't dire in Korra, though. I'm actually more afraid of the Equalists, Chi Blockers, and Amon than I was afraid of the Fire Nation. So, it's kind of a balance for me. The situation was dire and needed more immediate reaction in Avatar imo, but the situation in Korra is much scarier to me. It keeps me on edge.

Kano Shuuya May 6th, 2012 10:35 PM

I didn't like the pacing of the newest episode, it simultaneously built and sunk my ship over the span of 25 minutes. XD I was like "OHMYGOD MAKKORRA, ohmygod makkorra.. ......ohmygod.. makorra.. ;o;" through out the episode. I love this series, regardless, and both of my favorite episodes so far have been the pro-bending ones. I love watching the matches, and the animation for the bending moves, and etc.

In a way, I'm okay with most of the romance getting out of the way for now, because when you think about it teenage romance goes all over the place, and kids hop around from one crush to another. So in that respect, it doesn't seem too rushed, I suppose. If anything, I'm thinking that from now on, whatever pairings are gonna happen will be able to happen over time, since all of the more aggravated feelings between the characters have been dealt with.

I'd like to see the plot actually pick up now, to be honest. XD I'm excited to watch Korra learn more bending skills, and see how the thing with Amon will wrap up.

The characters in Avatar were a lot younger than they are in Korra, at least it seems that way. I actually have no idea how old they are but the main characters now seem to be 16-18 whereas Aang was only 12 and Katara was 14 in Avatar? Seems more appropriate for hormones to be running high as teenagers than children. :P Also, in Korra, they aren't travelling together or anything so they aren't spending every waking moment together. The group in Avatar always seemed more like a family than peers so ships weirded me out unless they were with an outside person. But Korra isn't spending all her time with either of the guys in this and I'm also under the impression that she hasn't had aaaall that many friends her age (much less male friends) throughout her life, so I can easily see her mistaking friends for crushes and whatever. I dunno. I'm so okay with all of it in this. XD;

Sydian May 8th, 2012 1:51 PM

Yeah, I know how teenage romance is. Been there, done that. I guess I'm just tired of shippy stuff and I'm ready for the show to progress with the plot. :( I'm not into ships that much, so it's just BLAH to me. i'm so unromantic eeek </3

Golurks Were Meant to Fly May 9th, 2012 2:23 PM

I agree with the "let's get the romance out of the way" ideology. It always interested me more in the original series when they were learning bending or helping someone, while still keeping it relative and important. As much as I like LoK with all the non-filler episodes... I still want some filler. I will agree that Amon is scarier than Ozai ever was. And I have an awesome theory as to who he is.

Spoiler:
14 year old Ty-Lee! Omg, I would just die from laughter if I was right.

TwilightBlade May 12th, 2012 7:52 AM

Best episode yet! Although I knew what would likely happen in this episode, I was blown away.

Spoiler:
Amon ambushes probending arena! It's what I suspected since the final clips I've seen were Amon in the arena and Lin saving Korra via metalbending. This episode exceeded my expectations!

Lin and Tenzin were once a couple, oh my! Lin has AWESOME moments in this episode. The last 5-10 minutes blew my mind.

I get the bad feeling that Sato is allied with the Equalists. Maybe he paid the referees to overlook the Wolfbats' illegal moves too. How else does Amon get so many resources and technological toys?! /all aboard the Asami and Sato are bad guys train

Sydian May 12th, 2012 8:03 AM

lol conceal spoilers and such

Spoiler:
In a way though, I think Sato or Asami knew the Equalists were going to show up at the Championship Match and they paid the refs to make the bad calls and allow the Wolf Bats to win. When I first saw Asami, I did assume that she was with Equalists, since she's obviously not a bender herself. She probably will end up being bad though. You just know they are gonna have Mako and Korra together in the end. It's predictable lol. So Asami will have to do or be something bad to mess up Masami...that's the ship name right?

Tahno is ugly.
