Spoiler:
I dunno, I don't really get and bad vibes from Asami. :/ I can be a horrible judge of character, yeah, but I think a lot of suspicion on her just comes from the fact that she's a love rival to the fandom OTP, haha.

It definitely seems possible that her father is working with Amon, but I think it would be a lot more interesting if it's just him rather than Asami too. Or if she is, hopefully her ~love for Mako~ will set her straight and make her join the good guys? :D I do like the idea of her (or her father) paying off the refs to make sure that Korra + co. didn't end up as the winners, though. Playing both sides, maybe?

Also, does anyone else want the Benders to stop being entitled pricks and acknowledge that yeah, maybe they should let non-Benders have more say in society? No wonder they're all being pushed to extreme measures like following the Equalists. <_<

Sydian May 17th, 2012 1:14 PM

Spoiler:
I'm not mad at Asami for anything shipping related. XD I could honestly care less about that. If she's not involved though, I at least think Sato is, like you said.

I also agree about the bender thing omg. I thought I was the only one haha. There wouldn't need to be this big Equalist rally if benders weren't dicks to everyone. :/ But, like it's been said in the show, it didn't really get bad till after Aang died. So that leads me to believe benders grew some strange belief after his passing. idk.

Cherrim May 20th, 2012 3:18 PM

Spoiler:
I was riiiight. \o/ Asami was awesome in that episode. I really like her.

I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking most of the benders are being dumb about all this. I guess it makes sense that things would slowly be getting worse after Aang was gone but... still... the fact that NO ONE has given any sympathy to non-benders about all this still really bothers me. I mean, yeah, the Equalists are extremists but their beliefs obviously came out of a genuine interest to give non-benders more rights/say in society. The entire council for this huge city is made up of benders. It's silly that they run the whole city despite such an obviously large non-bending community. Everything needs an overhaul and it just seems silly that no on in the show is recognizing this.

Sydian May 20th, 2012 3:28 PM

Spoiler:
IKR. Me and Blade were all like OMG WE KNEEEEEEEEEEEEEW!!!!!!!!!

And yeah. For a second, I was about to say "like any minority group that sees injustice in our world..." but stopped myself. I think that, or it at least seems like, the majority of Republic City are non-benders. Which to my knowledge, is like an opposite of things in our world (at least in America...I can't speak for other countries because I didn't study their history in school all these years!). Normally the minority groups (African Americans, women, homosexuals, etc) are the ones to protest, speak out, and rally against their injustices. So to see a majority group go against it is very weird, but totally interesting. This is just assuming though! Cause like I said, it seems like there are more non-benders than benders in Republic City. I don't have much else to add to that, really, but for me, it's interesting to see the opposite of what I'm used to seeing. I hope it teaches us something, or at least the kids that watch it, whether they fully understand it or not. Does any of this make sense? XD

Though, since the minority benders hold that higher physical power in their bending, I guess that's what puts them ahead in society despite being lesser in numbers. I'm just talking to myself at this point... :(

Cherrim May 21st, 2012 9:10 AM

Spoiler:
No, I think you're entirely right. :/ It's the innate power of the bending community that keeps the non-benders "in their place". It would be really intimidating to stand up to a group that can burn you with a flick of their wrist, drown you if you look at them the wrong way, pull the earth from right under you, etc. Obviously not every bender in a state of power would abuse their power, but I imagine it happens often enough to get tensions rising. And since there's obviously no outlet for non-benders to make their interests known and no representative for them aside from Amon, they're going to flock to him. Especially now that the people in charge are probably looking at all non-benders with at least some degree of suspicion whether they're extremists or not.

WHY DOES NO ONE ON THE COUNCIL SEEM TO SEE THIS? :/

Livewire May 30th, 2012 9:30 AM

Ahhhh I just got into it and I love it. I think it's better than the original, tbqh. I might go rewatch the first series until the new episode.

Lord Varion May 30th, 2012 10:49 AM

I'm yet to see this on nickolodeon. :l
I'm looking forward to it muchly (trying to avoid all spoilers)

I hope this isn't just an american thing, that would suck.

The Fallen May 30th, 2012 1:21 PM

I just recently got into the series, seeing as how I adored The Last Airbrnder so much I thought I'd give it a go. So far I am pleased with what they've done with it thus far. The comedic relief still exists in The form of Bolin, which is fantastic. The artwork and animation is amazing. Needless to say the storyline, as I've already stated. Hopefully it continues on the path that it is on now and furthers itself!

You can catch up on episodes here.

mikey May 30th, 2012 3:11 PM

I love Korra so far. Really well done storyline and graphics wise. It's a huge success so far. I still love the original series more though, but Korra is still great!

-Grayscale- May 30th, 2012 4:23 PM

I've watched a lot of the episodes and they seem pretty nice. I like the new bad guys, and how the plot is developing. Personally though I miss the old group of kids, which sounds a little odd but yeah. Die hard Aang fan here~ <3

The best new thing has to be the animations. That artist really grew since the last airbender.

What I really want now is to see Korra in the avatar state.

Golurks Were Meant to Fly May 30th, 2012 4:40 PM

^^I agree with this so much.

Come on korra, AVATAR STATE, YIP YIP!

I loved that episode. :)

TwilightBlade June 2nd, 2012 7:30 AM

Lots of good stuff in this episode. You cannot do this to us!

Spoiler:

The car! They listen out for Equalists by using the police communicator installed in every car... That's like Spiderman. Yay Team Avatar!

UH OH Mako and Korra sitting in the back seat! Asami adjusts the mirror to see what they're doing in the back seat. :( Earlier at the Air Temple Island when Ikki blured out that Korra likes Mako, LOL.

Good moment when non-benders said Korra is their Avatar too. Bad moment when she can't do anything about the arrests. :(

Tenzin saying the police chief is the worst. XD Korra makes Tenzin more aggressive and Tenzin makes Korra more patient. Their interactions and co-development are awesome.

Tarlok makes me sooo mad. I get the feeling he is working against Korra. :/ He arrests her friends. Also, unless I am wrong, he wanted to shut down the pro-bending arena and come to terms with Amon. He wants Amon to win? -.-

Uh oh, he wants to manipulate Korra. ><

woahhhh fight! Fighting is not the answer. O_O

BLOOD. BENDING????

mikey June 2nd, 2012 3:18 PM

Todays episode was awesome!

Spoiler:
I freaked out when the blood bending happened. I love that. Also the whole fighting scene in the car was awesome. Asami got some driving skills. And omg, TEAM AVATAR 2!

-Grayscale- June 2nd, 2012 5:06 PM

Great episode ;o;
Spoiler:
Omg I despise Tarlock. What the hell mannn, what the hell
I seriously wonder where he's taking Korra, and how that's gunna work in the first place. Everyone will notice she's missing. Aghhh QUESTIONS

Sydian June 2nd, 2012 7:53 PM

Spoiler:
Is it bad I found the blood bending quite predictable? I mean, me and my sister used to talk about the advantages and disadvantages of certain bending, and we decided water had the most resources, because blood is a liquid, and that's pretty damn scary too. So as soon as Korra said, "where's your water now?" or whatever, I thought "...Girl you're made of it...he's gonna blood bend y-- THERE HE GOES!!!!!!!!!!" so lol :( Still scary stuff!!

Couldn't agree more. However, I think Aang was able to tap it sooner, accidently or not, due to his being a monk. Korra is more rash and emotionally driven than Aang was. She has zero connection with spirit word as well. So until she is more enlightened in some way I doubt we'll be seeing avatar state any time soon.

thegeneticway June 11th, 2012 2:26 PM

I love Legend of Korra 8D It's too amazing for words

Spoiler:
Omg. Saturday's episode. It was so filled with pwn. I loved how they had flashbacks of Aang, Sokka, and Toph. Hahahah, their new voices are so amazing!! I wish Katara and Zuko were in the flashbacks though. Woulda been nice to see how they look at not 80. And when Aang beat Yakone, they played A:TLA music, I was like O: good memories

Regardless, wow I feel so bad for Asami D: First Ikki tells her that Korra is in love with Mako, Mako seems to show it. I hope she doesn't turn against him or something.

~Ryukaa June 15th, 2012 7:26 AM

Korra has been an amazing show so far, and I'm really pumped for the season finale. It's been amazing so far, and I really hope it doesn't drop.

Spoiler:
Asami's fine, in my opinion. Jealous, sure, but not evil. xD;
...Unless they suddenly decide to do something like that. I highly doubt it, though. o3o

Also, that whole scene with the old gang grown up? I spazzed a little. xD;
Nice to see that Toph is retaining her awesome nickname for Aang. : D

Sheep June 19th, 2012 12:57 PM

Korra's been so good lately. The last three or four episodes have really been a lot better than those before them!

Spoiler:
I'm echoing those who think Mako's in the wrong for just ignoring Asami like he has been... sure, they are in the middle of a big problem, but being all over Korra as much as he is really isn't fair to her. I'd probably react the same way. So yeah, as of right now, I'm pretty annoyed at Mako and hope to see this all settled soon ;o;

but... Lin ;_;

Nomine June 22nd, 2012 6:36 PM

Spoiler:
Phew! Good thing I found this thread! I was starting to think that I was the only Korra fan here! (which, in perspective, seems very illogical) But I'm literally addicted to this show. Season finale goes on air tomorrow. I'm sad that the season went by so fast, but at least we get to see what happens! (And maybe who Amon really is.) Here's to hoping that Korra will go into the Avatar State!

Pyrax June 23rd, 2012 9:18 AM

I'm surprised Nickelodeon allowed
Spoiler:
Tarrlok's murder-suicide and Korra contemplating suicide (hence what Aang said about "When we hit our lowest point)
on a show on their network.

Spherical Ice June 23rd, 2012 9:22 AM

Spoiler:
Im so torn on this episode because I want to love it but some parts annoyed me. They could have ended on Noatok (SP?) and Tarrlok's death, instead of Deus Ex Machina'ing it with the Avatar State. It would have been so much better if they left resolving Korra's problem in Book 2, which is Spirit. It could have been a series on Korra trying to achieve spiritual divinity or something that would redeem her bending. The writers didn't know they were going to get a second season though, so I can't exactly blame them. Argh!

Anyway, it was a great finale overall.

Obrusnine June 23rd, 2012 9:28 AM

Honestly, I didn't have any problems whatsoever with this finale. That was intense although...

Spoiler:
My jaw dropped when Tarlock killed himself and Amon!

...but still was a great finale. Although it was really jarring in that it felt far more like a series finale then a season finale. Seriously, pretty much everything got tied up, and I kinda have to wonder what the heck the plot of the second season is going to be...

Spoiler:
I mean, they killed Amon and Tarlock, Korra learned Airbending and connected spiritually, Lin got her bending back... What is there to build on here?

The whole thing didn't leave me really anticipating Season 2 much, XD

ソラ June 23rd, 2012 11:24 AM

For me all I have to say is this

http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m62zyqk4uH1r2w5eto1_500.gif

Nah, but that was one epic season finale. Well from the interview of them they said
Spoiler:
Korra is staying a bit in Republic city, then going around the world for season 2, Idk maybe Tarlok or Amon survived but you never know, they show explosions doesnt mean they died, the creator's have their ways to make season 2 pretty epic :x

Sydian June 23rd, 2012 12:02 PM

Spoiler:
BUT WHEN DID MAKO BREAK UP WITH ASAMI? THAT LITTLE TRAMP

oh yeah great finale etc
