People tend to think I'm British due to my accent and vocabulary alone nowadays, why I'm still trying to figure out for myself.

Oh and hai guiz.

I have an Asian accent despite speaking fluent English.

The product of being born in Korea but moving to the US before I was old enough to speak. I remember nothing of the land where I was born, and I'd rather not buy the cars they make there, lol

Morkula April 18th, 2012 1:26 PM

I have a slight Southern accent (though if you were to ask Mr Cat Dog it's an incredibly "nasal" deep South accent), but it's nowhere near as strong as someone from Georgia, for example *coughAndycough*. I also have a little bit of a southeast Virginia accent, especially when I say "ou" sounds like in "out" or "about."

bewbs April 18th, 2012 1:39 PM

There was one time when I had a sheep's accent on a skype call.

Sweet Candace April 18th, 2012 1:45 PM

I have no accent in my voice, just I speak very monotonously at times.

Sheep April 18th, 2012 1:46 PM

I don't have an accent either. XD; People often tell me they're surprised I wasn't born here since I'm apparently accentless, lol.

blue April 18th, 2012 1:47 PM

My vocabulary is slightly slurred but other than that I'm 100% British (Not Posh).

Signomi April 18th, 2012 1:52 PM

I have a rather strong British (Home Counties/Posh) accent, but most people can still understand me well enough.

My family especially like to comment about the way I speak, especially my dad. He doesn't talk like that at all, and doesn't know many people my age who does.

droomph April 18th, 2012 2:13 PM

I talk like a Californian. Meaning "hella" is an adjective. Jk only weird people say that constantly.

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ April 18th, 2012 2:47 PM

Weird thing is, when I hear myself as I talk, I can't detect an accent, but it's there if I say, listen to a recording of my voice.

Anyone else like this?

droomph April 18th, 2012 2:55 PM

Yeah, but instead of having an accent I'm just appalled at how horrible my voice is.

I was gonna rage that you equated my home state with that tired expression, but I see you didn't mean it. You may pass.

droomph April 18th, 2012 2:59 PM

Well I DO live there and in my experience most people say that quite often. I don't have an "accent" so to say because I speak like where I live. Artificial and ****ing boring.

Esper April 18th, 2012 3:05 PM

I've never heard it used except by people jokingly using it. I suspect it was made up and never actually uttered in seriousness.

droomph April 18th, 2012 3:18 PM

No trust me, people say it quite often. It means "very" and it's used about half of the time when we mean "very".

So before this just becomes an argument between me and Scarf, what are other stereotypical slang of your culture/land that you and your friends use?

CarefulWetPaint April 18th, 2012 3:48 PM

/is very jealous.

Sushi is absolutely AMAZING!!

droomph April 18th, 2012 3:52 PM

Except that I hate the school cafeteria kind. That's wet and mooshy.

cacturne4512 April 18th, 2012 3:56 PM

droomph April 18th, 2012 6:09 PM

No sushi? That's okay because kimuchi will always love you :mudkip^_^:

Also speaking of smilies does any mod use :furretlock: to lock threads anymore? Just asking, since I've seen a couple of locked threads and none of them have it (sad). It's not something serious. But it's cute!
