kyurem ex deck reviewing please
I am new to this and I play the tcg. I am currently working on a deck. I would like to know how to modify it please help. Remember I am still making it so not 60 cards yet. Also could someone suggest a name for it. Also it's just an idea so please suggest trainer cards and pokemon.
2 Kyurem ex's 2/3/3 vaniluxe's 2/3 beartic 1/3 cinccino 2 lilipup (for pickup) Thats all for pokemon. Strategy idea: Goal: get 2 Kyurem ex's out and fully powered up (with energies) get a vaniluxe's out and use slippery soles to retreat Kyurem ex and sent out Kyurem ex every turn. And use Kyurem ex's 120 damage move every turn. I will use lilipup (hopefully the starting pokemon) to get my trainer cards back like pokemon communications. Any suggestions? |
My thoughts:
Lillipup isn't needed. It's just free Prize Cards. Just use Junk Arm. You'll need something to get energy onto Kyurem quickly, like Feraligatr Prime or Floatzel + Shaymin (non-EX). Double Colorless Energy should be used to also speed up Kyurem's attacking. To keep Kyurem alive longer, Eviolite always helps. Other than that, I like this deck! |

I know lilipuo is just free prizecards but it will allow me to use my trainers over and over again and I can always retreat it.
Also is there a trainer that will allow me. To get my skynarrow bridge out fast instead of vaniluxe? Or instead of eviolite I could use pokemon center stadium and heal 20 damage from my benches Kyurem ex every turn Does anyone else have any suggestions? |
Retreating will be fairly hard becuase most decks today rely on speed to win. Lillipup only has 50, and that can be easily KO'd on turn one by a baby Tyrogue. Pokémon Center and Skyarrrow Bridge is nice, but don't forget your opponent can use that, too. You can still use them if you want. That's just my opinion. :3

I can always just retreat with vaniluxe's slippery soles free of cost
But look at my previous questions. And also does anyone else have any ideas? |
kyurem ex deck reviewing please
How else can I get energies on Kyurem fast?
|
kyurem ex deck reviewing please
Please can some one else help? haxorus helped alot but I still need a little more help:(
|
You'll want 4 Junk Arm in there to recover the stuff that Kyurem EX's attack forces you to discard that you really need, at a minimum.
EDIT: Oh, Haxorus already suggested that and I apparently didn't notice the first 6 times I read the thread. Any other trainer that helps recover cards that get discarded could help a lot. But you really do need Eviolite. And of course, between 14 and 18 draw trainers to form your draw engine to help your deck keep pace with everything else. |
kyurem ex deck reviewing please
Ok thank you but I think instead of evolite I'll use pokemon center stadium which will allow me to heal 20 damage from my benches Kyurem once per turn.
|
Why not have both in there?
|
kyurem ex deck reviewing please
Yes I have both in there but I'm looking for a trainer card that allows me to search for:
1.any card in my deck 2.special energies 3.pokemon (other than pokemon communications. Also should I add in a regular Kyurem or replace the beartic with something. Also does anyone have a good name for this deck? |
There is not a single trainer card that does all that.
For #1, there is Twins, but that only can search for any card if you've fallen behind your opponent in the Prizes race. For #2, there isn't anything that does that specifically, but Interviewer's Questions takes any Energy card from the top 8 cards of your deck and puts it into your hand. But Haxorus did suggest a few things to get energy on Kyurem fast in his first post in the thread, as the only good energy acceleration in the Pokemon TCG right now is using a Power or an Ability to do so. For #3, there's a fair bit, but Pokemon Collector and Pokemon Communication are essentially your best options. Look at Haxorus's first post in this thread for ideas on Pokemon to put in for energy stuff, but you'd probably want some Rare Candy in the deck, as well, since you'll have 2 lines of Stage 2 Pokemon. As for names, try to come up with one yourself. It is your own deck, after all. |

Ok then maybe a kyruem deluexe deck name?
And how do you count two lines of stage 2 pokemon? |
I was counting the Stage 2 lines as if you were going to add in Feraligatr for your means of getting energy to your Kyurem.

So I played my 1st game and well it went ok. I think I figured out1 problem. Like you guys warned me my energies on Kyurem woul be too slow. So I think I need a placeholder (a pokemo with alot of hp that will take some time for my opponent to Knock out while I power up Kyurem) any ideas for a placeholder?
|
The normal Kyurem comes to mind, for starters. Though you should really try to get cards that allows you to put more than one energy per turn onto Kyurem EX.
|
well one problem is i jus dont have those cards. :( Annother problem is there going to be outdated soon

And, of course, there's keeping them for collection purposes after they become not tournament legal. |
kyurem ex deck reviewing please
Ok I have done that and my deck became alot better. It is still a very inconsistent deck winning only 1/2 matches with a zeckeels deck. I think I have determined that in the case of facing a fast deck I will try to get out cinccino or beartic. Cinccino is a really good placeholder. Should I add in a Kyurem or kyogre ex?
|
I think Kyurem would be a far better addition than Kyogre EX.
|
kyurem ex deck reviewing please
Or should I add in both I agree kyogre is and ex and it's moves aren't really nearly as good as kyurems. Any ideas on how to beat a zeekells deck?
|
As much ad you want to add Kyogre EX, it's not a good idea, because of its lightning weakness. Kyurem, however, has a weakness to Steel, not lightning.
|
kyurem ex deck reviewing please
What? Isn't it good not to have a deck that has all weaknesses of one type all of my cards but minnicco and cinccino have a wakness to steel?
|
If you've played at league, you've probably noticed that no one is running Steel-types. There's a reason for that: there aren't really any that are fast enough to beat the speediest decks in the format.
Besides, you asked how to beat ZekEels. If you want to stand a better chance against ZekEels, you do not want to add in something that is weak to the primary (and often only) type in that deck! |

Actually I disagree with what you said about steel decks. My first game was against a steelix prime and scyther deck. You also can't forget about the Durant deck although devoir isn't a attack. I saw a couple of steel decks. What I saw more of is just plain weird decks that include all the ex's and full arts that have happened in black and white meaning they run every single type of energy. Is this really that good and how do I defend against it?
|
You defend against it by using an EX of your own. Like Mewtwo EX. Or Regigigas EX.
|
kyurem ex deck reviewing please
Could I use Kyurem ex to defend or should I put a regigasas in my deck?
|
Regigigas hits harder more quickly than Kyurem EX. You would want to primarily use Regigigas EX's first attack, and use it's other attack only to get KOs.
|
I played a Kyurem EX deck in the finals, at a Battle Roads tournament I attended last week. It basically ran Kyurem EX with Kyurem and Mewtwo EX. Smeargle was included in the deck list too. EXP Share was used to conserve energy. The deck ran Twins to get going after losing the first prize.
