Yayayay!
Username: AlexOzzyCake Reason for joining: I love guitar, it's my life etc etc \o/ What is your preferred genre to play in: Rock! How do you learn a new song? Tab! Like 90% of the time I use tab because its just quicker and easier, but sometimes if I want a challenge or can't find a tab I'll learn it by ear. I never use sheet music though, I just find it annoying xD As for the tab challenge thing, I suggest 2, 4, 6, 8 Motorway by Tom Robinson's Band. It's an easy song to play, but a very hard song to master. It'll be very interesting to see how different people play it :3 |
Quote:
Playing the guitar is awfully addicting isnt it! I also prefer to learn my songs by tab as I'm not talented enough and to lazy to be able to learn by ear and when I look as sheet music my brain just says.. WTF?!?! What is this Motorway Song and why do you like it so much? |
Username:Controversial?
Reason for joining: I'm more of a singer tbh, but I play guitar as well (: What is your preferred genre to play in: Rock. DUH. (Punk, mainly) |
Quote:
Being a singer is okay as long as you still play the guitar xD. I have a question for you though, how is Rock duh? My preferred genre is metal! |
Really? I used to like metal but I prefer the fast tempos of punk. xD
|
Quote:
Ive always thought of metal as having a fast tempo though o.O how fast is the tempo of punk? :O |
Username: Jake♫
Reason for joining: Because I love guitar, derp. What is your preferred genre to play in: I play mostly acoustic stuff, but I dabble over into electric with some rock and a little blues every now and then. As for the topic, if I want to learn a new song it's usually by the way of tabs. I really need to train my ear =3 |
Quote:
Welcome Mr MusicNote! :):) Derp guitar is very lovable isn't it?? (Maybe you should pair with a guitar) Ugh I cant put a genre next to you as Acoustic stuff! Can you please be a bit more specific my friend. Don't worry tabs is the way to go :P. Do you use guitarpro tabs or just text tabs? Also any suggestion for tab of the month? |
Hmm, I suppose =P I guess jam band-y Folk Rock (Dave Matthews Band like) and Fingerstyle would be more specific. And if I could pair/do dirty things with this guitar I would
|
Quote:
Also who wouldn't that guitar is absolutely gorgeous!?! Do you have one of those? |
Quote:
And god I wish. My collection consists of an Ibanez AEG10e and a Les Paul Studio |
Quote:
Idk I don't really like thedarkness of like extreme metal tbh though lool |
Quote:
/is jealous. Why do you have such wonderful guitars!! Quote:
Show me an example of a fast tempo punk song yes? |
I saved up and bought the Ibanez over the summer, the Les Paul I got for Christmas (yay for cheap deals on eBay apparently!)

Reason for joining: I've been playing for about 5 years now, and would love to have other people on here to chat about guitar with. :D What is your preferred genre to play in: I play a bit of everything, but if I had to narrow it down, it would be Rock and Acoustic/Folk. I propose another question... What guitar(s) do you have at the moment? What about amps/pickups/strings? |
Quote:
Do you have a suggestion for tab of the month? Also I do plan to make that a topic in the future just at this time would rather only have one topic, I'll be changing the topic's every few week but I high encourage discussion on the current topic! :) Quote:
How jealous of you i am for that Les Paul, gawd so sexy! -Edit- Tab of the month added! :) You are all therefore challenged. |
Quote:
Guitars: I have 3 acoustics, all of which were gifts so I have no idea on models, but my favourite is a glossy black one with steel strings; it sounds like an acoustic dream <3 And electric wise I have the classic starter that everyone has, a couple others, and my favourite shining beauty an Ibanez SA260FM in Lavender <3 Quote:
|
Challenge accepted. Although I do have a few assignments this week, so I might not have anything up until the weekend.
Oh, in terms of recording videos, what do other people use? My laptop's webcam is rubbish and I doubt my digicam is much better. For sound, I'm ordering EDIT: I've ordered an XLR-USB adapter and hooking up a Shure PG58. :D |
Quote:
Its quite easy to learn just a lil tricky to get the timing perfect so i think that makes for a perfect first challenge tab don't you? Quote:
I will NOT be posting my attempt first though! Its up to everyone else and I'll put mine up last haha! Oh and my amps. I have a Roland Cube 15x practice amp and a 100 watt Fender Frontman212R for when i play with other people/ drummers xD. |
On the topic of amps, I have a Peavey Vypyr 30W. Does the trick, plus I love having all of the effects at my fingertips.

Reason for joining:I saw "Ultimate Guitarist" and thought it was the same as the website. I also play guitar. What is your preferred genre to play in:Rock and metal (and many of the metal sub-genres) I've played guitar for about 4 years, and then took a break after the band I was in broke up, slowly gettin back into it though. |
Quote:
Haha yes the name is a tribute to the website since I don't think I know a guitarist who hasn't used it before :P Another metal head? Awww yeah \m/. What music did your band play? Will you be attempting a cover of the tab of the month?? While on that topic I was thinking of making it Tab of the fortnight and change it every two weeks to encourage you all to play the guitar more and record yourselves for us all to see with the best cover going on the front page in the HALL OF FAME. (Voted by club members and anyone who has viewed the cover). What do you guys think? |
Quote:
We experimented with death metal, thrash metal, and black metal. I have vids of our show on youtube if you are interested in how we sound. I always like to learn new songs, so I'll definitely play the tab of the month. |
Aside from the "tab of the month", what is everyone learning at the moment?
Trying to cement the picking pattern for Dear Prudence - The Beatles in my head. |
Quote:
|
Quote:
And I learnt some you me at six songs before that. (Gone from incredibly easy it insane difficult, smart move Tom, smart move.) And before them was I never told you what I did for a living by My chemical Romance. That song was a pain to learn at first. How do you guys practices songs? Do you learn like parts at a time and perfect them or learn it all at once? |
Quote:
Thinking about buying a better acoustic.... |
Personally I learn the whole song straight up/ well play along a few times with the tab int TUX Guitar.
Then I'll go back and look at parts I had difficulty with then practice those till I have them down and keep doing that until the whole songs learnt :P. I don't finger pick much (kinda really bad at it), so don't know how I would learn a finger picked song. Oh what kind of guitar were you thinking? |
I usually break down a song into it's components (Intro, Verse, Chorus, etc.) and learn them separately, then put it all together in the end.
Currently trying to learn Vultures by John Mayer. Love the sound of it and the main lick is amazing. |
So Jake you dissect the song and then put it back together like some sort of mad scientist!
Has anyone done tab of the month yet? I'll be changing it this coming weekend and would very much like some cover's and a possible first hall of famer! Or would you guys like a bit more time? |
Quote:

Quote:
Besides, I've had a few assignments to work on and haven't been disciplined enough to learn it. I hand in my current one on Wednesday, so let's see if I can learn it after that. Also, I love DADGAD tuning. :D |
Oh my god DADGAD tuning just sounds amazing when it's strummed openly, I love it. Bartender by Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds is actually played in this tuning when it's just a solo person playing, it gives it such a full and rich sound it's wonderful. Maybe I'll put a recording of that up at some point when I have my guitar around =P
|
My favorite tuning is C F Bb Eb G C. It's one of my most used tuning next to drop-Db. It sounds so low and brutal.
|
Drop C is probably one of my favourite tunings since most the songs I like to play are of this tuning. Drop D is what my other electric guitar is tuned to. (Mainly for Vicarious by TOOL.)
But the tuning of my acoustics, wooo they go all over the place, atm its just standard tuning for tab of the month and the classical guitars in like C G E G C c. |
Quote:
If anyone remembers the main theme from the game Bastion, it's also used for that, despite what all of the tabs say. |
Quote:
Which brings me to a question, has anyone here tabbed out a full song before for themselves? Have you submitted to a tab website? Has it had positive reviews? Personally I've never tabbed out anything myself. Besides some original riffs and such so I didnt forget them. |
This is a rad club! I'd like to join.
Username: Penatrait Reason for joining: I've been playing guitar for close to seven years. I love playing in a band as lead or rhythm guitarist, and recent complications in the band may result in me trying my hand at bass guitar. Preferred genre: Rock and Funk. Also, I know I'm new, but what does everyone think about getting together for a collaboration? I noticed you guys record yourselves playing the Tab of the Week, which I was just gonna go ahead and try, but since we're all into recording we should try to write something together! Oh, and as for how I learn a new song, I go for the tab always. Sometimes I'll try to figure it out by ear myself, but I'll most likely resort to ultimate-guitar.com. It's fun to see the similarities/differences between what I thought was played and what is actually played. |
Quote:
Well no ones actually decided to record themselves for tab of the month yet, you could be the first! Tabs is how I go usually since my ear is pretty useless haha. And that site is what this clubs name pays homage to :) -Important Note- And I was honestly thinking of perhaps either opening another club for general musicians or opening this up to all instruments so we could get some collabs going because I also thought that'd be a really cool thing! Whats your thoughts? Keep this elitist and open up a general Musician club or open this up to all musicians? Members what are your thoughts on this?? |
Well I think it's cool to have a little hub for us guitarists, but there should be an open musicians club as well. And if other people want to be elitists then they can open their own club for drummers or pianists or what have you...
Here's my recording of the tab of the month. It's not phenomenal or anything... I added a backing track to make it a little more listenable. And I think I tweaked the tab a little for ease of playing. Let me know what you think! http://soundcloud.com/marsolaiswhicher/mario-bros-for-pc Also yay for an excuse to start a soundcloud account. lol :P for those who are interested, I uploaded just the lead: http://soundcloud.com/marsolaiswhicher/mario-bros-single |
Quote:
Also what program do you use for recording/editting? Yes I'll probably just make a new club for musicians in general and keep this elitist (When I can get someone nice to do a good CSS for me >.>) Would you considering joining a general music club as well? |
Hmm you're right, the song does go pretty fast. I'll work on the speed. As for what I use, my school provided me with Pro Tools 8 LE. But you need hardware to run it which is expensive so I wouldn't recommend it to you haha. Before that I used Ableton Live.
I don't know if you've got a sort of pre-amp though. That helps a lot for recording, if you want to do it quietly but still get distortion. The best is to use a microphone on a real amp. Probably will need the pre-amp for the mic though lol. What do you use? Yeah for sure! I'd love to get to know the musicians around PC. |
Quote:
Whenever I have tried to record myself failing I have used Audacity and found it's pretty... average. But saying that it is a free program. What program does everyone else used? I would like to find a better one. xD Also I have this little handheld recorder then which I use to record, it has mics and amp plugs so its pretty handy.. Though I havent really figured it out yet.. Also the discussion topic has been changed. |
Quote:
Audacity is actually really good considering it's a free program. You can do everything you need to do when it comes to basic recording, for people like you and me. For the longest time I had this Peavey microphone and it was super quiet and I couldn't believe how little I could get out of it and when I finally got my pre-amp audiobox, I could get a decent signal out of it. I still have yet to record myself playing my acoustic guitar, though. Which leads me to the new topic... How many guitars do you currently have and how many have you owned all together? What is your favourite guitar you still own? I have three. My first guitar, when I got started, was Squier Jagmaster. My guitar teacher said it was meant to be a cross between Fender's two guitars "Jaguar" and "Jazzmaster." I've never played a Jaguar but I have played a Jazzmaster and they're pretty neat. Second guitar I bought was an acoustic Takamine, which I haven't played in quite a while now... it's sitting in its case under my bed. Third guitar I bought was a Fender Stratocaster, and I loooove it! Some of my top favourite guitarists (John Frusciante, David Gilmour) a strat-players so I had to buy one. I may take pictures later but I'm really lazy so don't expect me to lol |
I currently own 4 guitars. I listed and took pictures of my two good ones in an earlier post (Ibanez acoustic and Gibson Les Paul), but I also have the first two guitars I owned. One is a piece of crap Lyon by Washburn acoustic guitar. The action is so high on it and the tone is just meh, but for a first guitar I guess it wasn't AWFUL. The other one is a Harmony electric that's pretty much just a cheap strat knock-off. Can't hold tune and is almost unplayable. I had fun when I first started learning =P
|
Okay I guess I should tell you guys about my fantastic guitars...
Okay my best(still horrible) guitar is aaaa *drum roll* Yamaha Pacifica. It's basically just a strat copy but it does have a nice fret board and fairly decent sound when you get down to it though the stock pick ups are pretty.. basicaverage Moving onto my best(not that horrible) acoustic; its a Cort AD-850. It actually has a pretty nice tone for a cheapo guitar but doesnt have the best sustain or bridge, eh its still pretty good for how cheap it was ($300 AU). Then my other two guitars are: A Casino Custom Series thing that just a strat copy. pretty bad pick ups and tone pots etc BUT the action and setup is amazing!! (I Love itttt) I just borrowed this from a friend but Im pretty sure hes given it to me now :S And a Martinez MC-SJ which is really bad. Its a classical guitar with nylon strings etc but its cant hold its tune horrible action etc etc. Kinda hate it tbh... I'll Take photos of them later xD @Pen A real strato? Is it American Made? ifsoextremelyjealous. How much did something like that set you back? and I assumed you are totally in love with it without you having to say it. (Still so jealous of JakeMusicNotes guitars.. GIMME THE LES PAUL PLEASEEE) |
I wanna get in on this conversation too lol
I have 5 electric guitars and 1 acoustic, and a bass. B.C. Rich Warlock - my first professional guitar, it's got a great sound to it, considering the music I play, but I do need to change out the pickups soon. Jackson Rhodes (Kinda) - It's a Jackson Rhodes V Shape, but it's a cheaper kind. Still Jackson, but no Floyd Rose tremolo and it has dots instead of that awesome triangle on the fretboard. Still sounds high quality to me considering what I paid for it. Fernandes Revolver - I like to call this the "Black Cat" because it has a black cat inlay on the 12th fret. This one has a Floyd Rose tremolo too. The clean sounds clear and crisp, to me, and the distortion sounds alright but I wouldn't show it off lol Gibson Les Paul Custom - Great vintage sound to it. Not entirely sure of the year, but I know it's in 2000 somewhere lol Finally, my new baby the Deron Miller Parker Nitefly Custom - If you don't know who Deron Miller is, he was guitarist and vocalist for the band CKY and in a new band called World Under Blood. It's a nice sounding guitar both clean and distorted. Fender Dreadnought - Can't remember the model number, but it's a cheapo one, still a great sound for $200 lol Fender Precision Bass - I bought this from my friend, I don't play it that much, because I have no amp to play it on. So can't really tell too much about it, but when I do I will. I'll post some pics later on too, whenever I get the chance. |

Reason for joining: I play the guitar almost every hour of the day. -.- :3 What is your preferred genre to play in: Pop and heavy metal. I also play classical. |
PMark. You have quite a collections of guitars, I am rather jealous!! How much have you put into those wonders! I want the Les Paul >.> (I have a thing for the shape.)
Also Welcome Zephyr! How long have you been playing the guitar for and how many do you have/what are they! Please tell us! Also I have some news: We have a new Tab of the Month today.. Which means that: PENATRAIT IS THE FIRST HALL OF FAMER! Congratulations! This Month I'd really appreciate if more people would post covers though! xD If you missed Penatraits cover it will be on the first post! |
I first learned how to play the guitar at the age of 7. I quickly learned different styles over the years, jazz, funk, etc. I also picked up bass, lead, and keyboards.
I can't really say what are my guitars, because they're custom made. I have three of them, one a strat, a superthin acoustic guitar, and a simple, classical guitar. :) |
Quote:
Zephyr: Is the super thin acoustic an electric acoustic, or just an acoustic? |
Hey guys, I forgot my band has a bandcamp page and we actually did finish mixing one of our originals. lol
You all should check it out! http://thefinalyear.bandcamp.com/ And please ignore the awful kick drum sound quality x_x |
Zephyr that is a fair amount of time :O You should definitely cover this months tab for us :) (PLEASEEEE) And custom mades my god. How much did they cost! (My bets a LOT)

Ive only really looked at the 1000 series. Haven't had a chance to check out and play a 401 in a store yet so Im thinking 1000 (They feel fantastic to play <3)
Zeph why not just take a picture of the guitar and show us :) It sounds fairly interesting as a custom built. |
The 401 is the cheaper one, so I'm sure you'll get what you pay for, but I haven't tried either of them so I wouldn't know lol

Reason for joining: This looks interesting. What is your preferred genre to play in: Alternative I currently own two guitars, my favorite being my acoustic. Honestly, neither of them are pro, but at least they get what I need done...you know, usually. One is a a squier bullet and the other a 222. |

I started playing when I was nine...but I stopped in middle school and picked it back up...I'd say a year or so ago.

Thats a pretty big amount of time NP, what is your favourite of your two guitars? Also are those the only guitars youve had??
Really? that cheap for custom mades? Are they of good quality zeph? |
Like I said, the acoustic is my favorite, and that might just be because I've had more fun playing it. Yes, those are the only two I've owned. I'm not a big collector or player so I haven't had a real need for any others.
|
With the acoustic do you fingerstyle it up? I find people who can play finger style well amazing..(Mainly because Im horrid at it :().
That being said I'd really like if someone could cover the tab for the club and upload it! I'd start the trend but I cant play it very well at all (I really am THAT bad at finger picking.) |

Reason for joining:I always loved guitar so.. there is no reason i shouldn't \m/(>.<)\m/ What is your preferred genre to play in: Most songs i play are classical and acoustic. |
I think we should put up a weekly exercise. Stuff that can help with things like: finger picking, finger strength, hammer/pull speed, different scales, alt. picking, sweep picking, tapping, etc. Just a thought.
BTW welcome SKY, what kind of guitar(s) do you have? |
Sweet a new tab! I'll start practicing it soon. Also, welcome to SKY.
What is your favourite guitar brand and why? I'd have to say Fender is my top brand. Both my favourite guitarists, John Frusciante and David Gilmour are known for using Fender Stratocasters. |
Quote:
It's great to see new members who love guitar <3 You should cover the tab of the month for us that'd be fantastic as its an acoustic song! Quote:
Yes what guitars Lil, pictures pl0x. Quote:
Oh fender! Yay that's a very respectable brand indeed, I have a Fender Frontman Amp, its pretty awesome. |
Thanks for the welcome guys :) I appreciate it..now.. do i really need to take a pic of my guitar ? :) hehehe I only have 1 acoustic...im kinda thinking of buying an electric guitar..if ever.. what brand do you guys suggest?
|
Just out of curiosity, how would we do tab of the month, just record video or audio of us playing it and post it on here? Do we pick the tab for next month?
|
You can either post a video or just audio its up to you. Yep you post it here and if we get more then one cover the club will vote on their favourite and itll go in the hall of fame.
So far I've just been picking them myself but maybe the winner can choose the new tab of the month or something like that? But I think they should stay on theme songs atm as its fun and I already have one planned for next month. What do you guys think? Winners get to choose the next tab? |
Wait, PC has a guitarist club?!?! YES!
Username: SeekerOfDarkness Reason for joining: Uhh, it's a freaking guitarist club!! Of course I'm gonna join! What is your perferred genre to play in: Well, normally I play metal, but lately I've been doing quite a bit of acoustic and classical stuff. |
OH SWEET! Another metal head, pleased to meet you Seeker. Just curious, what guitars do you have?

After i woke up sooo early in the morning ..i decided to record my self playing guitar while everyone is still sleeping >.<
Song by: Richard Marx "Right Here Waiting" PS: Lots of mistakes :3 Cant find my tab so... |
Welcome SeekerOfDarkness!
Yes what gutiars do you own! Pictures and descriptions of your babies pleaseee <3. Pmark is there any certain exercises you would like to see me put up for the club? Wow LS thats pretty awesome! :) You should definitely cover tab of the month now :) :) |
I'm not entirely sure of everyone's skill level here, so probably start off with the basics. How about an alternating pick exercise. Maybe something that can help with alternate picking up and down strings.
SKY: That was a nice track. It could be the mic that you recorded on, but it sounded like the one of the strings were a little out of tune, other than that though it was a nice relaxing piece. So, I was wanting to customize a guitar. I'm wanting to use an Ibanez RG320 body with a Lefty Neck. I cannot find anyone who sells guitar parts at all, I checked at the official Ibanez site, but they do not have any Necks in stock. Anyone know of any dealers of guitar parts? |
Ill see what I can find and do. I'm I'll be able to find some good things.
Why is no one uploading a cover of the tab ;; is it to difficult? Is there any problem with it that I can help you guys with?? :O I am sorry but I know nothing about guitar parts or anything.. maybe try some luthiers or something like that? Im sorry Im not much of a help with that stuff. |

Also, concerning the tab... I've put the notes into Guitar Pro, and they sound right, but I'm not sure what the rythym is supposed to be (or time sig for that matter). Could you help a guy out? |
There you go, he actually plays the song at about 40 seconds if you want to skip to that but that what is is suppose to sound like, sorry it took me so long to reply totally blanked on it/was hoping someone else would reply before I posted again. Theres only a little more time before I change the tab again, I hope that we get some covers, I'd cover it myself but Im a horrible fingerstyler so you guys are going to have to pick up the slack for me! Also your guitars seem pretty decent! As long as they song good thats all that matters, not the price tag! All my guitars have been under $500 Australian so far... Going to be upgrading soon though, Yay! |
Thanks for the vid! I might be able to get a cover in at some point, but no promises! Pretty busy these days -.-
|
Quote:

Seeker I really hope you can get around to it, it'd be really great to see a cover of it before I change it again.
They sound like fantastic instruments Zephyr, now I really want to see what they look like, would it be possible for you some how to get a photo of them? Also does anyone have any ideas on how to make the club more active? Feel free to suggest something. |
Here's a video of one of my guitars, the Parker Nitefly
|
That video didnt work for me pmarck! :(
Also I'd just like to say that the tab of the month has been changed and there was no entry for this months :( The new one will be the pirates of the caribbean theme song! Yayyy! Also the topic has been updated: Who is your favourite guitarist and why? |
That's weird that it's not workin. I've tried to add a different URL to the same video, but it hasn't worked.
As for the topic, I'd probably have to say that, all though I don't have a favorite, Brendon Small is definitely up there. He's a great guitarist, and he made Metalocalypse, so you know he's awesome. Not only can he do sick solos, but he can also create songs with great chord progressions and rhythms that work well and are very metal. |
Sorry, I've been really super busy lately, so I couldn't get a cover up. I'll try for the Pirates, but I still don't know if I'll be able to. Gonna be gone for two weeks, and I'm trying to learn a couple of songs to preform at a camp I'm going to in a few weeks. Yay showing off.
Anyways, my favorite guitarist? Easy. Mikael Akerdfelt of Opeth. He practically single-handedly inspired me to play guitar, especially metal. And not only that, but I'm pretty sure Brendon Small used Mikael as an inspiration for one of the fictional members of Dethklok (not sure which one, I don't really watch Metalocalypse). So yeah. |
@Pmarck,
Perhaps youre not putting in the correct part of the url when you're trying to embedded it? My Favourite Guitarist: I have a few but the winner has to be Dan Donegan from Disturbed. He is basically the reason I play guitar and I have so much respect for him. He can play simple chord progressions like its all he's done his whole life then bust into a crazy face melting riff like nothing happened and to top it off producers INCREDIBLE solo's that add to the songs and arent just shredding or showing off. In my opinion a fantastic guitarist in every aspect. |
Quote:
|
What is Metalocalypse? I've never heard or watched it.
Is it made by an epic guitarist or something just as awesome? |
It's a show, on Adult Swim, about "the biggest band in the world" names Dethklok. The creator, Brendon Small, created the songs on the show and is actually in the live Dethklok band, be plays guitar and he does vocals. They are a melodic death metal band, and all their fans are crazy for them. Each episode is pretty much what goes on in their daily lives, and in every episode at least one person dies. It's a pretty funny show with a LOT of gore.
|
Quote:
So what songs have everyone been learning lately? I just finished learning most of God Knows By Aya Hirano, and I was thinking of re-learning some songs I have forgotten like Focus shift By Dark Tranquility and tuning my guitars down uber lower for some Parkway Drive songs. |
Hahaha, I watched a few episodes of Metalocalypse back in the day. I wasn't huge into it but I loved the concept.
Anyways, how's everyone been doing. My drummer went to Scotland so we haven't practiced in a little while. We decided to tackle Muse's Stockholm Syndrome - an incredibly simple tabbing, but repetitive and fast as hell. My wrist is going to swell, but it'll be awesome! We're gonna be playing a gig downtown in my city, should be awesome. Here's our setlist: Purple Haze (Jimi) Purple Stain (RHCP) "Nothing is True" an original Don't Forget Me (RHCP) Karma Police "Everything is Permitted" the second part to our original Stockholm Syndrome Crying Lightning (arctic monkeys) |
Oh that sounds awesome Pen. That's a pretty cool set list and it's awesome to see an original song. You guys should record the set and upload it for us or at least record your original song! Are you getting paid for it?
|
Well, I learn songs pretty quickly nowadays, but maybe that's cuz I've been doing a lot of rythym work, so there's not too much to learn. But anmyways, here's the songs I've been learning for the past... while.
Harvest - Opeth Good Riddance - Green Day Waiting on the World to Change - John Mayer The Pokemon Theme Song - Ray Parker, Jr. Gold on the Ceiling - The Black Keys Seven Nation Army - The White Stripes Welcome Home (Sanitarium) - Metallica One - Metallica Fade to Black - Metallica To Bid You Farewell - Opeth Holiday - Green Day Hey Soul Sister - Train And... Well, I'm not proud of it, but I had to learn it for an upcoming concert: Born This Way - Lady Gaga I know. Kinda all over the place. |
When it comes to acoustic, how do you feel when the guitarist is most talented?
I personally think that when someone can play and sing in different rhythms is more talented than someone who plays eighth notes and sings. |
When it comes to acoustic, how do you feel when the guitarist is most talented?
This: Anyone who can play the guitar like that and sing is extremely talented in my books. Newton Faulkner is another good example of what I think is extreme talent on an acoustic guitar. Also is anyone thinking of tackling this months tab? Its the pirate of the Caribbean theme song! |
That guy's sick. I can barely play guitar like that, let alone sing along with it lol
While we're on the subject of finger picking: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXqPYte8tvc He obviously uses an effect, but it still sounds great, it's hard to even believe one guy is playing. |
I have heard that song before and thought it was cool then, still the same feeling! It really sounds cool another good fingerstylist from candy rat is Antoine Dufour, you should check out his song "Scratch" its pretty amazing xD.
Who here is actually a finger stylist? I am personally so hopeless at it its embarrassing to pick up an acoustic guitar. :| |
I'm only a beginner. The most I can do is the first part of Stairway to Heaven lol
