Nope. I couldn't find a copy anywhere, so I just played it in an emu.
Never have, probably never will, but it would be pretty cool to play it since it, along with japanese red, were the first two pokemon games made.

Played all 4 versions of generation 1 games. Feels so good owning these games, especially the Japanese version of Pokemon Blue.
I own the English versions of Pokemon Blue and Yellow for my GameBoy. I don't know why I have Blue instead of Green. XD Bulbasaur is my favorite starter. I love the original Pokemon games because they have the most familiar characters and aren't so confusing.
I really want to!!!!! But the cartridge, but sadly I don't think that will happen!!! D: first there is finding a copy, then convincing my mum to pay (because it won't be cheap, and how can I convince her to buy a game in another language which will eventually die cuase of the save battery) who knows maybe if I ever go to Japan.....
the cartridge version of green: no, on an emulator I tried but just couldn't do it and kept sending out the wrong pokemon.
I indeed did and yep it was horribly translated (Fan translation btw) and the sprites were just creepy and terribad. But on the other hand it was funny reading some of the text like "Omni-Potent Ball" and "Oter"
So there you have it. |
I played the original green then choved my arm down my throat because the lavender town music was so high pitched and I died...
Then I got resurrected by letting a channeler have a litre of my blood. LOLOLOLOLOLOL |
Nope never did, but i think im gonna have to try it... might be difficult because i have no idea how to read Japanese.
Nope. I have one being sent to me soon that I got on ebay. Assuming that it's not fake. And hopefully the battery's not dead, otherwise I'll have to replace it. I've never really played the 1st gen games. Only a little bit of Red, and then firered and leafgreen. I did play a japanese version of pokemon gold once and it was pretty confusing, but hopefully I won't have too much trouble.
A couple mates had it when they attended college with me, they had completed it, regardless of being in Japanese, but I suppose if you know your 1st Gen you can do it regardless of language.
I have played it, and beaten it. I don't know how to read Japanese, but if you've played a Gen 1 Pokemon game before you can get through Pokemon Green. I got Green version awhile back at a garage sale along with the Japanese Red and Blue versions.
No, I can't say I have ever played that one. I have Pokémon Red and Blue, however, and I have read that the Japanese Green version is the same as the North American Blue version.
No, I have never played the original. However, I do have a fake version of it x3
Yes, I have already played Green, but never finished it. Japanese language is very boring. I don't even reached Brock's gym.
I've have green. The sprites are so bad! Have you seen Mews sprite in Green? Ewwww.
I met someone on holiday who had Green Version, I played it briefly but I didn't really like it compared to Red, Blue and Yellow back then.
I'm playing that right now on my Samsung Galaxy :D
It's awesome! |
I played the one with crappy English translations. I was a kid when I played it, but I knew how to speak English well (English isn't our native language). It was good, if you didn't count crappy English.
Alas, I have not. But I wish I could. Although, I feel like it'd be a whole new game with just the Japanese text and different sprites.
Never have and I never plan to. I don't want to play a game that I cannot understand.
it's the only main game i haven't played yet :( I know there are roms around but it's not the same... I could get one if i wanted to but it's not on the top of my priorities list.
I have played the game because I own all of the pokemon games... (Kind of a collector I guess)
I didn't know it existed until about three years ago. It does make me wonder how Japan fell in love with such an ugly game, Red & Blue have their imperfections, but Green is on another level. I personally wouldn't want to play it since I can simply enjoy the horrific sprites by finding them online.
I played a fan based english (bablefish translation) port to a "original" green game.
basically a whole cartridge port instead of just an emulation. It had several bugs within translation issues but the gameplay was all there and it was playable. I didn't see much differences to Red except minor artwork differences. |
my parents got me tha OG cartridge for christmas back in like '99 or somethin
but i couldnt read it so i left it alone still got tha cartridge tho |
Yes, a few times, actually. While I didn't understand any of it, it's not the first Pokemon game that I beat in Japanese.
Nope, never. ;( It is something I want to try, though! I was considering getting a copy to collect too.
I'd love to play the real thing, but sounds like some serious effort to translate in the ROM hack above, I will try it and see the different sprites :-)
Nope but it's on Trade Me at the moment. *Tempted* *Tempted* hehe :D Boxed too! But nope I dont have the money :(
I played a ROM of it, if that counts. As for the actual cartridge, no, I have never owned/played one. Although I would love to own it.
I'd love to play it someday :) It would be even better if I learnt Japanese too D:
I have a ripped off fake copy that is hilarious, but can't hold a save.

He could be talking about the bootleg translated green, like the one below.
Not as funny as Vietnamese Crystal but Professor Aochider is an totally awesome name xD
i actually bought it not too long ago. picked it up for cheap on amazon
I haven't played it before, unfortunately. I've never understood Japanese in the first place, so there was honestly no point in me playing it. I always wanted to, though, because I've heard a lot of stories about it. The story about Lavender Town music has gotta be the most interesting of them all. Since they have an English patch now, I may finally be able to give this game a try~
I briefly played a bootleg English translated Green when at a flea market (a market place where people can sell some used/cheap stuff). The lady priced it at $30. This was about in 2002 or so, and I wasn't impressed with it since I already had Red/Blue.
UNFORTUNATELY, I instead bought the bootleg Diamond / Telefang. Oh jeez, the Engrish. I was deceived into thinking it was a rare Pokemon game that I didn't have yet. It's an alright game by itself, but it was not worth $30. :P |
Nope but I really want to. It just seems so mysterious since it was the first Pokemon game along with the Jpn version of Red. I heard it's a lot like R/B but I would still like to try playing it some day.
I own a copy.
It's not that different from RBY except, japanese. But still. is fun. :I |
I haven't but I would actually like to one day. If I did though, I would want to play the non-translated one to see how well I do without dialogue.
I've played it simply out of curiosity. Plus I wanted to hear Lavender Town's Japanese music in-game.
I also own Pokemon Green cartridge (as wel as Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow JAP). I collect alot of Pokemon stuff and Retro games and consoles, I wanted this for ages! :D
I also like the fact that in the good old days you could interact your trusted Pokes from Red/Blue/Yellow and battle with them in Pokemon Stadium :D When I was a kid that was a nice drive to play again ^_^ (and yes I still do) I was playing this game until my Pokemon X copy was out actually ^_^ |
I never played the original Green Version so I have no idea what pokemon were on what routes. I might consider playing it sometime in the future.
Yes I have. None of the rumors surrounding it are true. It was a interesting experience playing my second favourite generation in japanese
No sadly i only play games that are in English only.
I never did play Pokemon Green but I would love to try and I saw lots of the Horribly Translated Pokemon Green Let's Plays on Youtube and it's great.
I'm joined the Pokemon Community with the 3rd gen remakes.
