Worst water-type?
Bibarel. Hands down. Typing plus movepool would easily kill it despite the HP. Plus look at it's goofy face. It makes Whiscash even better. Which water-type Pokemon do you think needs a new evolution? (baby form or third stage?) Kabutops must have another evolution. I would suggest his be Water-Steel like Empoleon. |
Answering my own! :3
Which water-type Pokemon do you think needs a new evolution? (baby form or third stage?) Lapras and Buizel are two of the water-types that are in need of a baby form. Wouldn't it be adorable to have a little baby Buizel or a little baby Lapras? :3 I agree with Gawain with Kabutops. With its sharp knives I think its next evo should be another water-steel type, as we only have Empoleon. :D |
Which water-type Pokemon do you think needs a new evolution? (baby form or third stage?)
I WANT A BABY OMANYTE <333 In all seriousness putting cute ideas aside, I'd love to see an evolution for Floatzel. Possible a baby form too, but I'm not sure that's as vital. I just see Floatzel as a Pokemon with huge untapped potential and it should certainly be able to reach this level in my mind! It has a moveset/build mainly focused around using somewhat direct moves, including the move Aqua Jet which was designed for the Buizel family, so I think they really should be able to put this to better use. Maybe a bulkier stronger evolution would be good for Floatzel? Possibly even a smaller, thinner, faster evolution that'd properly be able to utilize the types of moves Floatzel receives, but for now I'm wanting a bulkier powerhouse. :3 I also want to see an evolution for Basculin, just so that I'll hate it a little less. xD |
Hmm, I wouldn't mind seeing a third evolution for the Buizel family. :3 At some point I do consider Buizels a "baby pokemon. xD" So, hopefully the evolved form of Floatzel would be powerful and stronger. :)
Baby Omanytes...omg. :3 |
Shello's winning the pool, I'm surprised. I thought Dewott would have more votes, and anyway, I voted for it, it's my favourite form of the Oshawott evolutions.
Which water-type Pokemon do you think needs a new evolution? (baby form or third stage?) Why not a Vapoeron evolution? Seriously, I've always wondered how could be the eeveelutions if... They evolved again :3 As I said previously, I'd also liked to see a Luvdisc evolution, so that little pink flageolet became a little bit more useful, and an evolution for Basculin, because currently this Pokémon seems for me to be incomplete. Qwilfish too, is a little "incomplete" I think. |
Looks like Shellos is winning :D I'll keep the poll open a little longer since I'm going to be away for most of today (It's Mother's Day here, important day :D). I'll go ahead and start a new topic in the meantime, yes?
Favorite Water-Type Gym Leader? Which of the gym leader's Pokemon (the one you chose in the first question) do you like best? (yes you can say Shizui but....we don't know what Pokemon he'll be using soooooo lol) |

Favorite Water-Type Gym Leader? Which of the gym leader's Pokemon (the one you chose in the first question) do you like best?
I'll have to choose Misty, because I know the most about her, and my favorite Pokemon of hers would have to be Lapras because Lapras is one of my favorite Pokemon. Such a biased answer. |
Baby Omanyte and Lapras! omg.
And I agree with giving Floatzel and Basculin new evolutions. Favorite Water-Type Gym Leader? Which of the gym leader's Pokemon (the one you chose in the first question) do you like best? Crasher Wake is awesome. But I liked Misty longer than him so I'll go with her. Wait, that's not fair. Maybe, I'll just admit that I like Misty more than the other Water-type Gym Leaders. Um, reasons would be the anime and the generation she came from, yep. And among her Pokémon, I like Lapras best. Obviously because it's one of my partner Pokémon, and one of my favorite Water-types, no? |
Congrats to Shellos for being the next Pokemon of the Week! Such an adorable Pokemon. :33
Answering my own topic, yes? As a classic gamer myself, I have the utmost right to say that my favorite gym leader would be Misty. She's highly competitive with her water Pokemon and she knows how to battle with them too well. ;3 My favorites in terms of Pokemon will have to be Staryu and Starmie for their designs and for their loyalty. :3 |
Which water-type Pokemon do you think needs a new evolution? (baby form or third stage?)
i would like to see baby form of Buizel and Lapras i would love to see an evolution of Masquerain, Basculin, Pelipper, Castform and Cloyster |
Favorite Water-Type Gym Leader? Which of the gym leader's Pokemon (the one you chose in the first question) do you like best?
I'm definitely voting Misty for this. First off, she is my favourite gym leader. She has a great design and after seeing her in the anime, how could I not just love her. She's also very fun to battle, especially in the Johto games. I love her Psyduck in the anime, it's just hilarious. |
Wow, there's some of you that have said Misty. It's nice to see members that still support her & stuff! <3
New topic, guys! Favorite water-type starter? Short announcement: in the front page, there will be a "Guess That Pokemon" riddle activity. :D I'll be posting a riddle and you get to guess the water-type Pokemon I am talking about. :D I'm going to see how this will come out, yes? :3 You can PM me the answers, I'll give....three days. Good luck! :3 |

I love Oshawott, he's the cutest. |
Yay thank you for always looking out for this club's activity, Megan!
I love the idea. Riddles. <3 I'll be sending a PM in soon. Favorite Water-type starter? Squirtle! I know Totodile has its merits. Mudkip has a reasonably huge fanbase, of course, for many reasons. Piplup was awesome in the anime like Totodile. And of course, Oshawott was just lovely; I actually liked it more than how most people reacted when they first caught a glimpse of it. Adding on to that, all their evolutions are great. I love them all, in fact. But Squirtle holds a special place in my heart, and I will always adore it for old and personal reasons. 'Chya, Squirtle is my favourite for every category you put him in. |
Name: ShinySearcher (The 01 shall be forgotten and left to die, k?)
Your Partner Pokemon: Milotic and Samurott Why do you like Water-Types? Water is one of my favorite types. I love boats and stuff for real, so guess it only makes sense that I like Water types xD Admission Fee Paid: One PokeDollar. Worst Water Type? I'ma go with everyone else here and say Basculin. The thing is just so.. Useless! And it's ugly, too, Magikarp at least looks cool shiny. The one use for it I can think of is EV training. Low-leveled, give three speed EVs each, and are near a PokeCenter, it's the by far the best place to EV train in BW. EDIT: I forgot to change my name to ShinySearcher lmao. |

Now, come and see all the Water-type Pokemon inhabiting the park. And nice partner choice - Samurott and Milotic are awesome! Now, time for some Shellos pics as our Pokemon Of The Week: Spoiler:
Which variant of Shellos do you like better - West Sea (pink) or East Sea (blue)? I love East Sea Shellos better. |

I...actually liked Basculin when it was first revealed. :( I don't know what I'd answer for worst Water-type, honestly. Only thing that comes to mind is Simipour but the reasons I have for that are pretty much baseless. |
Favorite Water-Type Gym Leader? Which of the gym leader's Pokemon (the one you chose in the first question) do you like best?
----------------- Wallace. Elegance and beauty coupled with power is awesome. |
Favorite Water-Type Gym Leader? Which of the gym leader's Pokemon (the one you chose in the first question) do you like best?
Shizui. Hands down. We don't know what he has yet, but I'm sure his Pokemon are fitting. |
Favorite water-type starter?
I like Squirtle...but I also like Oshawott. Those are two of the starters I choose often when playing either FR/LG and B/W. If I had to choose one I'd go with Oshawott. Evolution family is just fantastic, and it's tutor move Hydro Cannon is the most powerful. :D I have it on Samurott right now and it's just amazing! Quote:

Sweet. Looking forward to everyone answers soon! :3 |

Favorite water-type starter? Mudkip. Soooooo cuuuuuuuuute.. And the final evolution isn't that bad either, all though I find it rather ugly. Nice shiny forms too :P |
Favorite Gym Leader would definitely be Misty. Of course, she's a girl for one. Another is because she's indeed, incredible. She would have the sister-like personality and would make for an interesting friend. And Starmie is just plain awesome. Her Starmie was my favorite. Although in the Anime at the very beginning, I don't get why they made her have BOTH Staryu and Starmie. Just don't get it.
As for the favorite Water type starter. This is a simple one to answer. I've never chose Water types to start off with. But I do regret never picking the 2nd Generation Water family. (They were all good in originality in 2nd Generation) I'd have to go with Totodile's family line. Got to love the Alligator-traits. :P Totodile is just so cheerful and happy in the Anime when Ash had it. And Looks so fun to play with! Feraligatr is one of those who I just love the design for. He's perfect! http://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen5/blackwhite_animated_front/158.gifhttp://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen5/blackwhite_animated_front/159.gifhttp://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen5/blackwhite_animated_front/160.gif But I do agree with most and like Samurott. Except I absolutely hate Oshawott and Dewott's design with a passion. http://media.pldh.net/pokemon/gen5/blackwhite_animated_front/503.gif |

Favorite Water-Type Gym Leader? Which of the gym leader's Pokemon (the one you chose in the first question) do you like best?
Misty. I think that her Pokemon were strong, yet not totally unbeatable, which was refreshing. I also liked her in-game sprite in FR/LG games since it looked much more dynamic than her earlier in-game sprites. i like her Lapras and Starmie. |

Suicune is cool all around, anime, trading card game and gameboy game. He's great, elegant and docile looking. |

Partner Pokemon: Dewgong and Horsea! Why do you like Water-types: Well, for one, I LOVE water. I love to swim, I love to drink water, I love to watch the waves hit the beach-- Anyway, when I was younger, I used to swim with my cousins, and we'd pretend to be Water-types. I also love the way their moves look. Many Water-types are very beautiful as well. +w+ Most interesting water-type combination: I'd have to say Water and Ice. I don't know..they just seem to go together, and that makes them all the more interesting. I love the Dewgong and Walrein family.. :3 Most useful HM in battle: I'm going to go with Surf. I always thought Surf was strong..and my Swampert in Ruby/Sapphire proved that to be correct! Hooray for taking down the Elite Four with just him! Favorite Water-type move/why: Um, I'd have to go with Water Pulse. I always liked any of the moves that end in "pulse." Not to mention it's very pretty and can confuse the target! :D Worst Water-type: I can't STAND Panpour, Magikarp, or Tentacool/Tentacruel. =.= Which Water-type Pokemon needs an evolution: I'd most certainly LOVE it if there was an evolution of Dewgong.. I can picture it now.. +w+ Favorite Water-Type Gym Leader/your favorite of their Pokemon: Wallace, hands down. I loved his Milotic. I was so jealous. =w= Favorite Water-type starter: Mudkip, of course! Mudkip is just so adorable..and I looove Swampert. <3 Favorite Water-type legendary: Uh, probably.. Manaphy xD. Who doesn't love the cute prince of the sea?! *pays entry fee of 1 Pokedolla* |
Now to answer some topics I may have missed...
Most interesting water-type combination: I'd have to say Water/Steel, it's a nice combo with tons of resistances and that's what makes Empoleon so unique. Most useful HM in battle: Surf, it's the reason I always carry a Water-type on my team. Favorite Water-type move/why: Razor Shell cos it's the signature move of my fave Water-type line, the Oshawott line. Worst Water-type: Tentacool/Tentacruel cos they show up EVERYWHERE. Also Magikarp cos of those Fishermen that use 6 of them, even Marriland hates them. Which Water-type Pokemon needs an evolution: Lapras deserves a little baby pre-evo someday. Favorite Water-type legendary: Manaphy for its cuteness, same with Keldeo. |

Your Partner Pokemon (Choose up to 2): Swampert and Samurott! Why do you like Water-Types? Used to be my most favorite type, and still one of them. I like Water-types because of its abundance! Topic Answer (If Applicable): See below. :) Admission Fee Paid: One PokeDollar. What are the most interesting combinations in water-type Pokemon? Water/Dragon for me. Dragons are usually associated with fire, as seen in many movie dragons today. In the games, there are four HM moves available in all or most of the games: Surf, Waterfall, Whirlpool, and Dive. Which one of these moves do you find powerful during battle? Surf. Always Surf, since second generation. Your favorite water-type move? Why is it your favorite? Scald! The chance to burn is so epic! Worst Water-Type? Well, Magikarp undoubtedly for me, but for fully evolved, Wailord. Which water-type Pokemon do you think needs an evolution? Basculin. Favorite Water-Type Gym Leader? Which of the gym leader's Pokemon (the one you chose in the first question) do you like best? Crasher Wake's Floatzel! So cool. Favorite water-type starter? Do I need to choose? Mudkip because it evolves to a freaking Swampert! Favorite Water-Type Legendary? Keldeo, and his awesome hoof. |
Welcome to all new members! <3 You're just in time for the fun, actually! I'm about to add another riddle for you all to guess and answer! I think this next one will be fairly easy to guess, haha.
Buuut right now here's last weekend's answer: Marrill! Marrill was one of the first Pokemon besides Togepi to debut before the start of the 2nd Generation (think Pikachu's Vacation? oh i want to see that again lol). Next riddle will be posted after I post this! Meanwhile, new topic! What don't you like about water-types? Why? Quote:

Pikachu's Vacation reference~ I haven't seen that short for quite awhile. Man, I really miss watching the Pikachu shorts. What don't you like about water-types? Why? Speed being their lowest average base stat. I like fast Pokémon, honestly, and it's depressing that it's commonly a low stat for them. Aqua Jet may sort of alleviate that a bit but I also like power for my STAB attacks most of the time so. Yeah. Anyway there really isn't a lot to hate about these critters. After all, Water-types are naturally awesome. ;D |
Riddles are one reason to bring this club active and close. ;3 I'm glad y'all are having fun! ^_^
The one thing I don't like about water-types is the weakness against grass. I know it's understandable that grass drinks water, but it just sounds silly. xD That's just the only thing I don't like about it. Quote:
|
Oh, dang me and my inactivity lately. D: Time to catch up on some topics! :D
In the games, there are four HM moves available in all or most of the games: Surf, Waterfall, Whirlpool, and Dive. Which one of these moves do you find powerful during battle? I'm not that big on moves or even battling in general, though from my experiences, Surf was the only Water type HM I ever ended up using in battle. It had decent Power and Accuracy, it had a great animation, and it was one of the most important moves in the whole game. I remember it being such a help in a lot of my battles, so that's definitely the one I choose. Your favorite water-type move? Why is it your favorite? Hmm, this one is rather hard. I definitely have great memories with Surf, as it's been such a help in battle, but I can't really choose between that, and Hydro Pump and Muddy Water. I like Hydro Pump because of its sheer power. It has always been an almost instant kill everytime when used against a typing weak to water, and the animation isn't too shabby either, though it was a very limited move, that wasn't exactly easily accessible (at least not in the way I played the games xD), so I didn't get to use it much. Same thing can be said about Muddy Water, since I don't actually remember ever using it myself, but I loved the concept of it, and how the animation was exactly like Surf, but with a colour swap. In the end I'd probably have to go with Surf once more, as my experiences with it is not easily replaced with even the strongest and most accurate of Water moves. Worst Water-Type? Uhh, this one is kinda given, even though I love it. Magikarp is easily the weakest Water type Pokémon, but then again. Weak =/= Worst, which makes it hard to determine what makes a Pokémon the worst, so I'm just gonna go with the Pokémon I like the least. Huntail! It's without doubt one of the most repulsive Pokémon I've seen (no offence to any Huntail loves :<), and I just can't get over it. I may be exaggerating a bit because of the difference between Gorebyss and Huntail, but I've just never liked it at all, and i don't feel like I ever will. :( Favorite Water-Type Gym Leader? Aww, these are those kind of topics I have such a hard time answering, because the ones I like the best, I always like equally. In this case I'd probably have to go with Misty, just because she's one of the originals. I remember having a really hard time beating her when I was younger, before I learned that Grass was super effective against Rock, so I always chose Squirtle as my starter and rushed through everything, thus usually being underleveled whenever I reached Misty. And to make it even worse, the only places where I could catch Pokémon after entering Cerulean didn't have any Pokémon that could really pose of any help in the battles, nor did they give that much exp. So I was usually stuck for a while at that point. I also liked Misty a lot in the anime, and really miss her. Now I don't actually want her back, I'm just a huge sucker for nostalgia, and I just find those first seasons so great, even though I love the new ones. Which of the gym leader's Pokemon do you like best? Starmie. It was always the biggest threat whenever I faced her, and unless I had a proper team prepared, it could take years just to take it down. Of course if you were the least bit good at Pokémon, she wouldn't really be so hard, but my feeble, young 6 year old mind had no sense of how to raise a team in the game, and the only sense I really had of strong or weak were that I was weak, and that the gym leaders were strong. Favorite water-type starter? Mudkipmudkipmudkipmudkipmudkupmudkipmudkip. ... So yeah, Mudkip. I just liek literally everything about Mudkip. Its desig is one of my favourite of all starters out there, I absolutely love the memes its anime version generated, even though they may be old and boring by now. I especially love its evolutions' very unique typing, that gives you a huge advantage over one of the most hated things whenever I'm using Water types, which of course is Electric type Pokémon. It's a one of a kind, and probably one of the most well known Pokémon out there :p Favorite Water-Type Legendary? I was just about to say Lugia, untill I realised the super annoying fact that THE GUARDIAN OF THE SEA ISN'T EVEN A WATER TYPE POKÉMON JKHSDlfhSFHJFHDJL. WHICH SUCKS GREATLY! :< But on the topic, my favourite would probably be Suicune. I love its unique and beautiful design, and how majestic they made it look compared to the other legendary dogs. I also like how they gave it more of a story in the anime, and how it seemed much more rare than Raikou and Entei in the anime. There is also the fact that it was the first of the legendary dogs I ever saw and caught in my Silver version, so I may be just a little tiny bit biased, but nothing of note xD What don't you like about water-types? Why? There isn't anything that I don't like about Water type Pokémon. They are simply the most perfect and the most awesome Pokémon out there in the entire Pokémon world, and nothing would ever move me from that standpoint. PERIOD! |
What don't you like about water-types? Why?
There isn't anything that I don't like about water Pokémon that I can think of at the moment. I think Misty chose the perfect type to specialise in. |
Tomorrow's Thursday, and I'll put up a new poll for the new Pokemon of the Week. :D Just so you all know!
Wow, some of you guys guessed Mantine and Mantyke for the current riddle, but the answer is actually Gyarados! Gyarados is both water & flying, but it does not have wings. Sorry if I threw some of you off on that. lmao Now, referring to a post above (I think it was Olli's, idk) I wanted to start a brief discussion about a certain legendary that can learn water-type moves, but isn't considered as a water-type officially. As a classic fan myself, I always thought Lugia was part water, but it's actually Psychic and Flying. But it can swim underwater, form whirlpools, LIVE UNDERWATER, etc. Fellow, water park visitors, do you think Lugia should be part-water type based on the amount of water-type moves it can learn? Explain. |
Do you think Lugia should be part-water type based on the amount of water-type moves it can learn? Explain.
Yeah, this was a really stupid decision in my opinion. Back when Gold and Silver were in the rage, I went a really long time thinking that Lugia was a Water type, because I didn't really look much at the typings for some reason, and hey. It could learn a multitude of Water type moves, so why would it not be. This belief was further strengthened after I watched the second Pokémon movie, where Lugia was living underwater, appeared in a giant whirlpool, used a ton of Water type moves, and was even given the title Guardian of the Sea, so there was no saying I was confused. So, this went on for a long time, and still to this day, every time I have to comment on something involving Lugia's typing, I always have to take a brief moment of remembering what its actually typing is, and I usually get it wrong either way xD It's also a bit emberassing, since Lugia is actually my favourite legendary, and if I don't even know its typing... Pssssh. Anyways, to the actual topic xD I really want Lugia to be a Water type, just because of all the hints that have been given to it actually being a Water type, and because of that damned title, but at the same time I don't want it to lose its Flying or Psychic type either, as they are also part of what makes Lugia. The only solution to this problem would be TRIPLE TYPINGS! Just think of all the possibilities that could be possible with triple typings. Yeah, it may be a bit cluttered and awkward in a majority of the situations, but it doesn't have to be on that many Pokémon either, rather than just on the Pokémon that are in dire need of it, just like Lugia. I understand why it would never be implemented into the games, but it's still a nice thought :D |
New polls is up for the next Pokemon of the Week! Choose between three water Pokemon: Starmie, Vaporeon, or Psyduck! Poll will close on Sunday :D
aaand new riddle is up on the first post as well. :D You also have until Sunday to send me your answers via PM. :3 Personally, I'd get rid of the Psychic type from Lugia and make it as another water-flying type. Lugia learns less Psychic moves, and learns more water and flying type moves, so there's no reason for it be classified as a psychic type. |
Quote:
I still don't understand why Bibarel is a water type itself |
I feel Lugia should be Water/Flying. It lives in the VERY bottom of the sea, it controls the freaking current, and it's even known as the King of the Sea. Psychic type doesn't really match it too much. People may argue because it has telepathy, but so does Lucario and Shaymin. The first of which isn't even legendary! Yes, it will gain a 4x weakness, but with the MASS of bulk it has, I doubt it'd hurt it too much.
As for the poll: My vote goes to Starmie! c: |
Quote:
Also, yeah, the change of typing would weaken it a lot, but no one said that it had to be the Psychic typing that was changed, even though it would be the most efficient one, fitting with Lugia's concept and all. |
I'd love to see Vaporeon as the Pokémon of the week. I don't really like Starmie nor Psyduck, while I'm a fan of the eeveelutions.
Do you think Lugia should be part-water type based on the amount of water-type moves it can learn? Explain. Completely. And not only because of the water-type moves it can learn... It's the master of the sea guys ! In its legendary duo with Ho-Oh, which is a fire/flying Pokémon, it would be more logical if it was water/flying... It doesn't look like a psychic type at all, I don't understand why they choose this type for it. I personnally always consider it's a water-type. |
Sorry for the lack of updates! D:
Our new Pokemon of the week is Vaporeon! Great choice guys! Vaporeon is definitely one of my favorite Eeveelutions out there, and I use it all the time when I play RBY and FR/LG :3 And not to mention, we have a Vaporeon as a member here. :D And for those of you that sent me your answers for this riddle: Clamperl is the answer! :) I think this one was quite hard, since I know some of you weren't familiar with the third generation. Clamperl requires either a DeepSeaScale or DeepSeaTooth to evolve into either a Huntail or Gorebyss. I'll post another riddle sometime this week. :D ALSO GUYS. THIS CLUB IS NOW CLUB OF THE MONTH. OMG I AM SO HAPPY. :DDDD LET'S CELEBRAAAAATE! <3 |
Do you think Lugia should be part-water type based on the amount of water-type moves it can learn? Explain.
Are you telling me that Lugia isn't actually a WATER-TYPE?!?! My entire life is a LIE! I actually..didn't know this. Boy, I feel stupid. This makes no sense, hahaha. Why wouldn't they make the Guardian of the Sea a water-type? I always thought Lugia was a water-type. Then again, I never played the Gen II games...and I don't pay too much attention to Lugia. Anyway, it's not like they can suddenly change Lugia's type. I think they should have made it Flying/Water, though.. -.- |
Quote:
YAAAAAAYYYYYY. <33333 Of course, we are such a hardcore, boss mode, epic club, why wouldn't we? B] And get that riddle up! I've been falling behind in them so badly it's pathetic. DX As for the POW, yay! I voted for Starmie, but Vaporeon is awesome too. I love me some Pokemon with huge HP, which Vaporeon has PLENTY of, which makes it an amazing Wish+Baton Passer. Not to mention it's pretty darn decent Special Attack to work with Surf, Scald, Ice Beam, hidden Power, etc etc. |
New riddle has been posted! :3

We have seen a new blood(aka Club) risen, and has become a very successful and popular one. As an inaugural winner, I'd like to congratulate the Water Park, Meganium90 on such wonderful work, and every member involved with the club on such great achievement. Keep it up guys! No other club deserved the award than this one right now!
Still on the Lugia topic huh? Anyone, has anyone actually noticed that the surprised evolutions occurred mainly for Water type Pokemon? I'm probably wrong but, Feebas to Milotic and Magikarp to Gyarados? Also I'm not sure if this has been brought up, but how do those feel about Gyarados and Mantine being a Flying type also, which aren't purely flying type itself at all? Since they normally just swim. Relicanth. I personally think he should be a fossilized Pokemon, even if Hoenn already had two (He'd be more like Aerodactyl pretty much.) I was meaning to post these separately from time to time, but I've been inactive as you can see. Also, we needed a new topic/discussion to fire up! I mean, Water DOWN! |
"Do you think Lugia should be part-water type based on the amount of water-type moves it can learn? Explain."
Lugia is also a water-type, since it has Hydro Pump and Whirlpool and it can learn HM Waterfall and Dive, but when I check Lugia on Bulbapedia and says that Lugia is a Psychic and Flying Type, I was like "WHAT?!, Lugia is a Psychic too! My Pokemon life is a lie щ(゜ロ゜щ)" if Lugia is a psychic type how come he can learn HM Water moves and lives in water even though he's not a water-type. I know, it's odd, right? |
Thank you for the kind words, everyone! :3 It is truely an honour for me to have a successful club. :3
Anyways, one more day to get your answers in for the riddle, guys! :D It's an easy one, actually. The hint is right there xD New topic! Summer is here, guys...and the Water Park is heating up! What are some of your favorite activities you like to do with your water-type Pokemon? |
Quote:
Competitive battling-wise, Water / Flying can actually be a good defensive typing (depending on the environment, with a useful Bug-type resistance kept and oh, no Dark-type weakness!) despite the introduction of a quadruple Electric-type weaknesses. At least I think Gyarados is doing okay with it. And I'm thinking less of Psychic-types due to the whole Pursuit weakness lately so that's kind of biased from a perspective. I don't know how it'll affect Lugia since I'm not at all familiar with Ubers but. I'll be all for Water / Flying competitively. Well I suppose I've got two different views for that. If those make any sense. Quote:
Summer is here, guys...and the Water Park is heating up! What are some of your favorite activities you like to do with your water-type Pokemon? Hmm...I think I'd hit the beach, enjoy the sand, have a nice swim and frolick in the waves with the sun up, maybe if I had a Water-type with me I'll surf around or just play beach volleyball. On calmer shores I'd probably enjoy taking a nice, soothing stroll with my favourite Water-type. In case the Water Park doesn't have sandy beaches, I'll settle with a pool and make artificial waves with my Pokémon. Or a water fight, that would be fun, too. :D |
What are some of your favorite activities you like to do with your water-type Pokemon?
I'm not much for swimming actually, but hitting the beach with one would be a nice idea. The Pokémon could provide us with a lot of fun activites, like surfing on the back of bigger Water type Pokémon, or having watergun battles, but instead of with waterguns, it'd be with Pokémon. Or like Mac once said, using Water gun on innocent bypassers, which does sound pretty fun :p Other than that, they'd be great for cleaning bikes and whatnot, to go riding in the great weather that most people hopefully have, (except for Australians :p). |
One person got the riddle answer wrong. xD It was sooo easy. Answer is Suicune! Eusine has been quite obsessed with the Pokemon since Pokemon Crystal.
Swimming, boating, and SLIP N SLIDE. I'd do a ton of things with my Milotic and Samurott. I guess mainly swimming is what I would do, since they're both giant Pokemon. I'd always wanted to do Scuba Diving, it'd be amazing. |
Quote:
Oh lord, sliding down my Gyarados' tail and landing on my soft, gushy Jellicent would be so much fun! xD I'd love to be an all water-type trainer. I'd have so many little Pokemon to swim in a small pool with, or go to the beach and swim and play! OR A LEMONADE STAND. <3 Where Totodile serves the lemonade and shaved ice to people. c: |
Summer is here, guys...and the Water Park is heating up! What are some of your favorite activities you like to do with your water-type Pokemon?
Well, summer in my part of the world is over, so yeah. But swimming with my Samurott while my Swampert builds me awesome sand castles is a dream. Mainly because I can't make sandcastles. |

Also, new riddle coming up tonight! :D Quote:
|
Time for some Pokemon Of The Week pictures, this week we're talkin' 'bout Magikarp!
Spoiler:
Hope you enjoy them! |
I like the first one best. xD It makes so much sense.
Gonna go ahead and start another topic! In Black & White, have you taught your water-type starter the move Hydro Cannon? How do you like the move? |
Quote:
|
In Black & White, have you taught your water-type starter the move Hydro Cannon? How do you like the move? Nope, I never teach this kind of moves to my starters. Like Hikari, the recharging turn disturbs me, I hate having to wait while the opponent can attack you. Particularly when your move isn't as effective as planned. So, to avoid that, I avoid that kind of moves. |
In Black & White, have you taught your water-type starter the move Hydro Cannon? How do you like the move?
Yes, of course I did. I always see my starter Pokémon as the most precious members of my team, so the strongest moves of their typing, that they are able to learn, is usually reserved for them, so same goes with Hydro Cannon. Now I am aware of the downside that is the one turn recharge, however if you just strategize it right, and only use it in the most desperate situations, I'm pretty sure it'll pay off well... ...is what I would've done, and what I would've said, if I had ever owned a DS and a copy of B/W :< |
Quote:
In Black & White, have you taught your water-type starter the move Hydro Cannon? How do you like the move? Nope! I don't like this move at all, I'd never shame my darling Samurott with it :D I just don't think it suits Samurott's style. Samurott is a quick and persistent attacker without too much bulk meaning it really isn't a good candidate to use Hydro Cannon. Plus Hydro Cannon is a move reserved for Blastoise imo since that's where it first came from. x3 But I'm also not a big fan of two-turn moves which leave your Pokemon open to be attacked. They are extremely powerful and can be incredibly useful for finishing off the last Pokemon in a team, but I don't like having more than one move of the same type on each Pokemon since it limits coverage so I'd rather have something like Razor Shell or Aqua Tail, etc, on Samurott than Hydro Cannon. :3 |
In Black & White, have you taught your water-type starter the move Hydro Cannon? How do you like the move?
No way, I never taught every water-type starter with Hydro Cannon because you have to recharge it after using that move even getting missed or avoided by the foe's pokemon. New topic :D If you encounter Magicarp by fishing or Basculin by fishing and from whirlpools, what are going to do? What I did is to run away from it or sometimes faint it to gain EXP for my Pokemon team :D |
In Black & White, have you taught your water-type starter the move Hydro Cannon? How do you like the move?
I have not. Unfortunately. Although I do like the Water Pledge move used with the other Grass/Fire type selections. Would love to see those used in battles, imo. View must me nice \m/ Its basically because I've only used one Water starter and that's the Totodile family, never used the rest! If you encounter Magikarp by fishing or Basculin by fishing and from whirlpools, what are going to do? Are you asking are we going to capture or it watch it splash around for six-hundred-ninety-seven turns? I'd probably watch them splash the crap out of the grass, must be way more entertaining than viewing a movie :D |

Name: ۩۞۩FusedZekrom۩۞۩ Partner: Kyogre and Feraligatr (gwahahaha) Reason: Water type is my third favourite type after Electric type and Grass type Topic: In Black & White, have you taught your water-type starter the move Hydro Cannon? How do you like the move? Not very like it.I love great damage moves, but Hydro Cannon needs to recharge after used. If you encounter Magicarp by fishing or Basculin by fishing and from whirlpools, what are going to do? Fight. I always use them to raise weak electric type pokemon XD Fee: 1 PokeDollars |
Quote:
I'm just gonna answer mine first. Yes, I have used the move Hydro Cannon, and yes I have taught it to my Samurott. It's powerful indeed, despite the whole "wait till you're recharged" crap. I was able to beat a few Pokemon with just one try with that move...and that's quite satisfying. :D Quote:
Quote:
If you encounter Magikarp by fishing or Basculin by fishing and from whirlpools, what are going to do? RUN AWAY. JUST...RUN AWAY. USE REPEL. USE SPELL TAG...I just....want to stay away from them. |
If you encounter Magikarp by fishing or Basculin by fishing and from whirlpools, what are going to do?
Well, I don't usually have the time nor the patience, to watch a Pokémon that I without a doubt don't want to catch, spend a few hours using up all its Splash PP, and finally struggle itself to death. So the easiest method out of this is usually just to run away. Which is what I usually do. |
In Black & White, have you taught your water-type starter the move Hydro Cannon? How do you like the move?
Not in B/W, no. I think I have taught my Blastoise back in FireRed but yeah. I liked the move in-game, though. It's very useful to get in a few immensely powerful hits into the more bulkier enemies that the league usually pits you up against. Competitively, not so much. I wouldn't want that recharge turn to be set-up bait or to cause an easy revenge kill. If you encounter Magikarp by fishing or Basculin by fishing and from whirlpools, what are going to do? I liked pre-release Basculin. And I use Gyarados quite often. But unless I want it on my team, then I'll most likely run away. Or if I can use a PP or two and the situation gives me a type advantageous move to use on the get-go then I'll knock it out. Yep. :3 |
Quote:
I believe Splash has 40 PP? 20? I don't remember. In the meantime it'd be a perfect time to freshen up your Pokemon's stats. xD |
In Black & White, have you taught your water-type starter the move Hydro Cannon? How do you like the move?
No, because I can't find where they teach it to you. ;; I would for my Empoleon and Blastoise if I could find it! Man I'm pathetic. If you encounter Magikarp by fishing or Basculin by fishing and from whirlpools, what are going to do? I catch it. I love Magikarp and Basculin. <333 |

What are some of your favorite activities you like to do with your water-type Pokemon? Keeping tabs, we would swim all day, throw frisbee, swim some more, play a little game of tag or something, then eat on the picnic, then swim some more for deja vu. This would go from Breakfast to Lunch to Dinner probably. And probably sleep in the water :P Then we'd come back the next day doing the same thing. Honestly I wouldn't bore myself doing this. I LOVE SWIMMING & being in the water! |
If you encounter Magikarp by fishing or Basculin by fishing and from whirlpools, what are going to do?
I seldom catch Magikarp. Only when I have terrible need for a water-type Pokemon and I have exhausted other possibilities and must resort to Gyarados. Basculin, however, I have not tried catching yet. I just run away from them as I really don't like them. |
One more day to get your answers in if you haven't done so! @ the riddle :3
Also, new Pokemon of the Week poll will be up in juuuust a sec. You have 3 choices: Azumarill, Gorebyss, and Empoleon! Quote:
They should probably make Hydro Cannon a signature move for Blastoise. Yes? |
Quote:
I gotta go with Gorebyss for this one! |
With that logic, Water Gun would be Water Spit. :))
But seriously, Hydro Cannon would be an awesome signature move for Blastoise. Azumarill obviously. One of my favourite Pokémon from Gold, plus Huge Power makes it even more awesome. :3 |
brb renaming that move Hydro Spit. :P
OKAY. Answer for this current riddle is Remoraid! Remoraid evolves....into an octopus Pokemon, Octillery. When I was young, I thought Remoraid evolved into a Mantine. Has anyone thought of that too? This is going to be our next topic for discussion! Empoleon and Azumarill are tied! Poll ends Sunday if anyone hasn't voted yet. :D |
Empoleon wins, woo!
And thanks Megan! :'D There just hasn't been a water-type I disli-- NVM GOLDUCK. But other than that, the others I like a lot. c: @ Sector Revenge: Actually, Empoleon creates a ball of hyper concentrated water in FRONT of its mouth, making it a cannonball shaped orb, and then fires it at the opponent with massive speed and force. It was shown in the anime from Barry's Empoleon. c: |
Gonna catch a few things. New riddle is up and posted. :3
And just a reminder we do have a topic up and running, actually! (The one about Remoraid's evolution (THERE YOU GO OLLI LOL)). Current Discussion Topic: Has anyone thought of Remoraid evolving into a Mantine? What is your opinion towards Remoraid's actual evolution (to Octillery)? |
Has anyone thought of Remoraid evolving into a Mantine? What is your opinion towards Remoraid's actual evolution (to Octillery)?
No, never thought of that. I knew there was a link between both Pokémon, but the fact that Remoraid could evolve into Mantine seemed totally unlikely to me. And, I pretty like the Pokémon Octillery. The only Octopus of Pokémon history. It's not especially strong, nor especially good looking or anything, but there's something I like in this Pokémon. I'm satisfied that Remoraid evolves into it instead of Mantine. It's better this way. |
Haven't been here in a while...
Has anyone thought of Remoraid evolving into a Mantine? What is your opinion towards Remoraid's actual evolution (to Octillery)? I always thought it was a wacky, but awesome evolution. It means the evolutionary family has more variety. As for evolving into Mantine, I've never thought of that, I guess it would be just as weird as Octillery. |
Hi everyone! I'm new and I found this thanks to Vaporeon7 :D
Name: Squirtle Is Life Your Partner Pokemon (Choose up to 2): Squirtle and Mudkip Why do you like Water-Types? Well, lots of reasons I'm a fan of the element water in general. When, I was little and my big brother got me playing the pokemon games my first choice was squirtle since then I have favored all the water, I'm a fan of swimming so I feel I relate to water types! And, I almost always choose the water type starters in almost every game unless i'm starting a new game and have already beat it I will get someone else! And, I could go on for a long time of why I like water types! I'm glad to be here :D |
Name: Flameheart7
Your Partner Pokemon (Choose up to 2): Dash(Empoleon) and Clyde(Floatzel). Why do you like Water-Types? Water is such a clean and refreshing element, and Water-Types usually have great designs and are elegant. Topic Answer: I enjoy the flexibility of Remoraid's evolution line. If you want a certain stat-set, then you can choose to either have Octillery or even a Mantine. I always thought it was weird for a fish to evolve into an octopus though. Admission Fee Paid: One PokeDollar! (: |
Welcome Squirtle and Flamey! ^____^
Ahh, I need to revive this water park! It's so dirty and green. IT NEEDS LIFE. BRB CPRING. CLEAR! *zzz* Just a reminder that there's a riddle y'all want to answer. If you know the answer to it, you can PM me. I'll give everyone till Tuesday to do so! In the meantime, Imma go ahead and start a brand new topic here: Thoughts on Keldeo, the newly confirmed 5th generation water-type legendary? |
Thoughts on Keldeo, the newly confirmed 5th generation water-type legendary?
Well, it may only just have been confirmed, though people have known of its existence for a very long time. Though as for my opinion on it, I don't really know what to say. I pretty much like its design, being all colorful, and fitting well into the theme of a water unicorn. I also like how its based on yet another mythical creature, as Dragons are the only ones atop of my mind that we've seen made into Pokémon. Otherwise, not much to say. I don't know anything about its moveset, how it battles, etc, other than it has a signature move. |
Thoughts on Keldeo, the newly confirmed 5th generation water-type legendary?
After doing some research, I've found that I really like Keldeo. Its Resolution Forme looks very cool, due to the fact that the new forme gives Keldeo a more "heroic" look. Keldeo has a pretty standard/basic moveset for Water-Types. However, because Keldeo is also a Fighting-Type, it can learn some pretty cool moves, such as Close Combat and, of course, Sacred Sword. Overall, I think Keldeo will be a great addition to the Water-Type family, and an even better addition to the ever-growing group of Legendary Pokemon. |
