What do you register?

What do you hotkey to "Y" in the 4th Gen?

Myself
DPPl: Bicycle

HGSS: Berry Pots

What about you? What do you equip for quick and easy access.

Porynoir June 16th, 2012 6:24 PM

I think mine is for like all my games are Bike and Pokedex Area.

bobandbill June 16th, 2012 10:31 PM

The bicycle or something else I use a lot at the time (say if I'm doing a bunch of fishing, the rod, and if I want to look for items, the item finder). Also tended to set the Pokerader to it in DPPt for chaining too.

PlatinumDude June 16th, 2012 10:43 PM

I switch between the highest rod I have available and the bike in HG/SS. In D/P/Pt, I switch between those items and the Explorer's Kit.

Kenshin5 June 16th, 2012 10:45 PM

I'd say 90% of the time I have my Bike registered. Otherwise I just have Super Rod registered.

Ho-Oh June 17th, 2012 4:00 AM

Pretty sure I use the bike. n_n While I haven't really played either in forever, ya, I'd only really need to use the bike so I can get around quickly.

Zayphora June 17th, 2012 4:28 AM

Welll currently in Platinum I have my VS Seeker registered. I use it a lot, and I rarely use the bike xD and I forget what I have in SS, probably the bike and the fishing rod.

pokemaster0823 June 17th, 2012 5:53 AM

I always have the bike registered. As soon as I get it, it goes onto the Y register and never comes off. It's been that way since I was like... 7. :P

LapLace1500 June 17th, 2012 6:00 AM

First it's my town map just to check important places. Then I get my bike and then when I get my first rod I just switch between bike and rods.

Zephele June 17th, 2012 6:34 AM

For the most part, it's the bicycle (for both sets of games), but for the few times it would be something else, it's either the Vs. Seeker (DPPt), or the a Rod when I'm fishing around. For the second spot in HGSS, I usually keep the Berry Pots, even if I often forget when I'm hoarding berries and when I'm not, haha.

Flameheart7 June 17th, 2012 9:08 AM

Throughout all of the 4th Generation, I kept my Bicycle hot-keyed to the Y-button. But say if I were fishing, then I would register my fishing pole instead.

Mr Cat Dog June 17th, 2012 9:31 AM

I register the Bike as soon as I get it, and only change it when I'm in the mood for fishing.

Gee... and there's me thinking I was original in doing this! :P

XtinaIsMeLuvinWWE June 17th, 2012 12:57 PM

In Diamond the town map at first (cause I had no clue where anywhere was in Sinnoh lol) but I feel I know it better now lol :)

Now I just register the bike :)

Brendino June 18th, 2012 9:59 PM

In Platinum I have the PokeRadar registered (switch between that and the Vs. Seeker), and I have the Dowsing MCHN registered on HeartGold, with the GB Sounds in the secondary slot.

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ June 19th, 2012 1:15 PM

During my playthrough in Platinum, it was the Vs. Seeker for convenience of finding rematches for experience and profit. For a while in the post game, it was the Poke Radar, at least until I caught every Pokemon that I wanted that appeared using it. Now that I'm done raising Pokemon, I actually have the Pal Pad mapped to the shortcut key. Don't ask me why; I set it up that way awhile back and I forget why now xD Probably because I was registering so many friend codes (that was the peak of my activity on wi-fi).

For HG/SS, I dunno. I haven't fired it up in over a year and a half now.

Plasmette June 19th, 2012 2:09 PM

Bike. Always the freaking Bike. Can't be anything but the Bike. My second slot was either the VS Seeker or the Fishing Rod.
Which along with auto running, I want to make a return. Its nice not having to go through the menu :/

Mortalis June 19th, 2012 3:37 PM

My bike. Always. Unless I'm near the water, then I always have my fishing rod ready to go.

mikey June 21st, 2012 4:39 AM

I never register anything other than my bike. I use my bike all the time.

Shiny Celebi June 21st, 2012 8:11 AM

The bicycle and the Berry Pots, the Berry Pots are awesome, I really like that item.

Hikamaru June 21st, 2012 1:29 PM

I always register my Bicycle cos I always need it.

Guy June 21st, 2012 5:27 PM

I'm surprised not a lot of people have mentioned the luxury it is to be able to register two items in HG/SS compared to the usual one.

In DPPt, my bike is the first thing I register and it's usually the one item that I keep registered for most of my playthrough. Other than that, I only change it if I'm in the mood to do other specific things such as fishing.

In HG/SS, my bike is always registered first and it stays registered the entire time. My second option is usually switched with other items I need to use at the time. On a normal day though, I just keep the Berry Pots registered in the second slot.

lapzod June 21st, 2012 10:15 PM

Bicycle. Always.
Except if I'm going fishing, then the fishing rod like everyone else.

Except that took me a while to do, so I would constantly go in to the menu and press it. Like a fool.

curiousnathan June 21st, 2012 10:37 PM

I usually register my bike for easy use, since sometimes I just can't be bothered walking everywhere and want to get to my destination asap. If I've not registered by bike, I would have registered my super rod, which I find just as useful.

Rivvon June 22nd, 2012 11:12 AM

Always the bicycle. I might change it quickly to a fishing rod if I must do a lot of fishing, but then I change it right back to the bike. I simply don't utilize the other key items as much.

Renegade1 June 22nd, 2012 3:17 PM

Like most, i register the bike. Just makes life a little easier. After I complete the game. I register whatever I'm doing. Normally Fishing Rod/Item finder/Berrypots.
