I'm buying it and the iPod shuffle. Or atleast I want to. When I heard rumors that Apple was making an Apple for $500, I was excited because it was always the price that got me from buying one. Now I can. :D

I was watching this on G4TechTV, from a report from CES. It is interesting, and I respect Apple for their new "gadget", but it seems hard to modify it the way you want it, when it comes to ram and whatnot.

I have mixed feelings about the new "iPod", seeing as its cheaper then the orginal and the mini, but I don't know about not including a LCD screen...

It's called the, "iPod Shuffle." You don't get to select you song, but the iPod will shuffle, or mix, them for you so you will have your songs in random. This is ok since you won't have many songs on it.

It's cute, I have to admit, and I suppose the small footprint would be nice - but I still don't really like Macs, just because I was brought up on Windows (from 3.1!)

Aww, isn't that sweet? :P

Ehh, I won't be going for either of Mac's new devices(that mini or the ipod shuffle). Instead, I'll wait for the next iPod mini(however long that's gonna take) and/or shuffle(already wishful thinking, :P). That comp doesn't really sound all that appealing to me though =\.

I was brought up on Windows 3.1.1. Now I love Linux, hate Windows, and about to buy a Mac. Just becuase you were brought up on the Dark Side doesn't mean you can't switch to the Light Side.
Anyway, do you know if we could upgrade the RAM at all? Either by Apple or manually? 256 MB of RAM when the bare minimum is 128 MB isn't really good.

There you go! Mac is inferior because it's so hard to customize the hardware... uh, anyway, I like Windows! I can customize it all - although yes, I love Linux, but I'm not allowed to install it on the family computer because we only have one and my parents are afraid I'll stuff it up :P

Meh, the first non-Mod to post here :P

The new Mac doesn't really appeal to me so much... I like my computers to be a bit heavy, so I don't feel afraid that it might get knocked off my table. I mean what is that thing? To me it looks like 6 lb., tops. Plus, all of the ports are in the back, which can be a hassle when you're listening to music on headphones or something...

I dunno, I'm gonna stick with my 15 lb, Windows... I never even used a Mac for a home computer before. Are they a lot easier to use than a Windows PC?

Meh, no.

Windows offers everything to you on a silver platter, so you never need to worry about anything when it comes to being a lazy pig. Of course, being a lazy pig also has it's downside of sicknesses(window's security flaws and instabilty), but as for me, I don't care. I'll switch to the 'light side' once they turn their lightbulbs on(har har), but for now, I'm with windows.

^^NICK^^ v.3.0 January 25th, 2005 3:54 AM

I would buy it. If I had money... I like Macs, as you know Anthony, but I just can't get one when I want. :( Maybe one day...

Geometric-sama January 27th, 2005 3:52 AM

That's the thing about Macs, they're way overpriced. Why pay $4000 for a good Mac when you can build your own PC with top specs for $1500?
