I've never heard of refill kits...maybe it's more common over there? Or maybe I just don't know enough about printers, haha.

Mr. X June 23rd, 2012 11:58 AM

I haven't seen many of them in stores, although you can find them in most secondary outlet magazines, and with a quick Google search.

Also, I don't live in the UK, if thats what your thinking.

Oryx June 23rd, 2012 12:01 PM

Oh well if they're not in stores then that's why. I don't care enough about printers to bother with finding alternative filling methods online or in magazines.

Because he be trollin' us all.

Captain Fabio June 23rd, 2012 12:28 PM

I never understood this whole 'I can't get a job' thing. If you expect to walk into a shop/business and expect to get a job, then you are doing it wrong.

The reason I worked hard in my academic life, is so I can have a great CV and qualifications, so I can get a job easier. There are so many jobs out there, but if you have no qualifications, then you have to look at yourself to blame. Maybe I am just weird like that...

It's weird to change your location to somewhere you're vacationing/visiting because chances are you won't be there for long so you might as well leave the location with where you live.

Oh goodness KFC. Soooo good in China. Dammit.

Well get a job soon...you'll need the money ^^ and you'll love working.

@Captain Hey, at my school they have a form that tells you all the great places you can work at (Gamestop, Gap, Abercrombie and Fitch) and what age they want you to be, and what you have to do to get an interview - it's pretty low-maintenance stuff (like bring in a form and dress nicely) so I thought it wouldn't be that bad to get a retail or service job...

Too bad everything requires you to be 16 or older because by golly I wanna work at Gamestop.

Oryx June 23rd, 2012 12:45 PM

Sometimes currently-in-college students or high school students want minimum wage summer jobs, which are mostly "walk into stores and get a job" kind of things haha. If you're looking for a career yeah obviously get a college degree, but if you want to work over the summer at a water park, college doesn't have much to do with it XD;

Captain Fabio June 23rd, 2012 12:46 PM

Yeh, the age limit you can do nothing about! Which is fair enough. Gamestop is a good type of retail shop, in my opinion. My friend works in a game shop called Gamestation and he loves it. Sure, you get the boring retail side of selling, but you talk to customers who enjoy games, you can recommend and chat and so on, so on, so on; much better than recommending clothes. XD

Yeh, part time jobs, you can walk in, but if you want a stable job where you won't be easily disposed, they look for more. Don't know why I am saying this, I am sure you all know this. XD /didn't mean to patronize.

droomph June 23rd, 2012 12:52 PM

Yeah. Too bad I'm 15. FFFFF I wanted Logic Pro so badly.

Also did you hear that the Rival is actually called Hihihiroshi in Japanese? loljk

Oryx June 23rd, 2012 12:56 PM

Even in high school/college though, connections count for SO MUCH >_o I had a friend that worked at a library and then quit and managed to get the job passed off to someone else in school because they knew each other so she got the job before it even went out on the market.

It's always about who you know...

Captain Fabio June 23rd, 2012 1:00 PM

"It's not what you know, it's who you know."

Which is very true, Toujours. I built up lots of contacts in University, keep in contact with friends in business, who keep me up to date on any events and such. People say "you are using them", but you aren't, I love my friends to bits.

droomph June 23rd, 2012 1:00 PM

Connections ehhhhhhh hook me up brah

That's just unfair.

Also, did you know about the "youth minimum wage"? $4.25/hr for 90 days. Why only 90 days? What is the point of just having 90 days of low wages?

Captain Fabio June 23rd, 2012 1:02 PM

Probation period? Some places are different, but 3 months is normall the probation period to see if they actually like you.

Oryx June 23rd, 2012 1:06 PM

Wait youth minimum wage what?

90 days is obvious though - they want to hire kids for summer jobs and pay them peanuts because they don't have to pay bills or anything and they'll be gone within 3 months.

droomph June 23rd, 2012 1:06 PM

Ahhh that makes sense.

Boom

So enough about jobs before Razor gets all "weathery" about it.

Bacon Um so what are your plans for this summer? I plan on staying on my computer and doing PC. What about you?

Captain Fabio June 23rd, 2012 1:08 PM

Plans for the summer are to carry on working. We are rebuilding computers and testing hardware. Also setting up a new server room, which will be fun... -___-

However, I should be seeing friends every so often.

droomph June 23rd, 2012 1:09 PM

A server room! Interesting...what website/thing? Or is it a hosting service?

Oryx June 23rd, 2012 1:11 PM

The only thing people get 'weathery' about is weather, lol.

At least you're making money Fabio! That's what's important :3

Edit: oh wow that sounds greedy

Captain Fabio June 23rd, 2012 1:12 PM

Ranging from licenses servers, to student and staff web spaces, to back ups and so on. We have a lot of server blades, but it is for a lot of people so... XD

It is true though, saving money for a rainy day! :D

Dr.Kotov June 23rd, 2012 1:15 PM

Speaking of connections at the high-school/college level; one of the most inequitable cases I've observed is gaining admittance into the top ranked universities of the world on the basis of relations. Blatant slap across the face and efforts of all those who work hard and sweat for the spots.

This summer and towards the end of it: prepare for/commence university, and move to another country. Major changes are due. Maybe.

Ephemeral Euphoria June 23rd, 2012 1:15 PM

My plans would have to be to finish moving to my new place and getting a GBA SP along with Metroid Zero Mission and Kingdom Hearts Chain Of Memories right now as far as summer's concerned. That and escape the depths of Purgatory but one fire at a time now.

My school is notorious for legacies (kids whose parents/grandparents/whatever also went here), and it's so obnoxious. It's turned into an insult here pretty much; if you don't seem smart enough to have gotten in on your own merit, then everyone asks you which of your parents graduated from here.

@Xulek: I loved Chain of Memories! Have you played it before or will this be your first time?

All too familiar with the type, in fact, our school has an ancient rivalry with the class you mentioned, and it's almost an established fact, that you require influential relatives to grant you a spot. You could say our school is its antithesis.

I find it quite depressing to observe that not all the classmates I've spent years with have the necessary capital needed to attain the class of education their intellect deserves. When undeserving imbeciles make it through with connections and their parents' bank accounts, it seriously bothers me.

CarefulWetPaint June 23rd, 2012 1:37 PM

4.25 an hour my god, thats really low I wouldnt even bother going outside for that! /australian wages ftw.

Admitting people into college based on who they know not their skills is a very silly thing to do for the student and the school I believe. What if the student is as dumb as two planks of wood and fails every class they in and ruin the colleges rep and make it a school of "You got money? You're in?" rather than "Oh you're really intelligent and have a good work ethic, you're in!" I know which one of the two I'd prefer to go too..

Oryx June 23rd, 2012 1:41 PM

Australian wages are RIDICULOUS. >:/

I think it's all about what's more important to the school, school spirit or academic integrity. Often people can get away with sacrificing a little academic integrity to build school loyalty. People that go to my school are scary loyal and having an entire family of people that went there really adds to your loyalty. My boyfriend has pictures of him at 1-2 years old wearing a "Future Notre Dame Student" shirt, and no one else in his family even goes here XD;

droomph June 23rd, 2012 1:52 PM

Ohoho I remember. My history teacher from 7th grade was a huuuuuuge Cal State guy. He would cheer for the Cubs every time they were gonna play a game.

Oh and...if they have people graduating (without the curve), I'll say it's a good college. But that's just because I'm 15 and I don't know squat about colleges other than "Imma be a game guy someday!!!!! loolz also Game Designing is a tough job"

Captain Fabio June 23rd, 2012 2:02 PM

In my previous jobs, my lowest wage was like, £7.20, which is really, blooming good for retail. Haha.

However, I am on a salary now so, I can't be bothered working out how much I am on hourly.

Oryx June 23rd, 2012 2:09 PM

I get 8 bucks an hour. 7.25 is minimum wage though.

droomph June 23rd, 2012 2:11 PM

My mom says she gets about $105/hr from what she gets paid. She works in semiconductor engineering (i dunno either) so it makes sense though.

Captain Fabio June 23rd, 2012 2:11 PM

Thing is though, we all live in such different economies and different jobs, us comparing income is strange! XD

Oryx June 23rd, 2012 2:13 PM

And different currencies to boot....XD

droomph June 23rd, 2012 2:15 PM

I love canadian coins.

Just. I paid for a chili dog and a drink, and I got $8 in just...change.

Also the two-dollar coins! So much pretty.

And the dimes are cool...the dots on the rim of the coin...

droomph June 23rd, 2012 2:29 PM

Oryx June 23rd, 2012 2:31 PM

Captain Fabio June 23rd, 2012 2:33 PM

DON'T WISH AWAY YOUR YOUTH.
I miss being able to not have any responsibilities, do as I please and just live a carefree life.

Stupid growing up and responsibilities! XD

Oryx June 23rd, 2012 2:35 PM

I think ideally we would be around 16-17 - old enough to work a job and get money, but young enough to not be expected to handle bills or rent or any of that hahaha.

Ephemeral Euphoria June 23rd, 2012 2:39 PM

GC. <3

My first job was when I was 15. My sister worked at the same retail store with a part time job and got me a job too, since she was leaving so, it worked out! :3

My parents wanted me to get a job because it would be good for me and such... I just think they wanted to stop giving me pocket money! XD

Oryx June 23rd, 2012 3:15 PM

My first job was as a web designer on campus...I missed the minimum wage high school job experience entirely, hahah. x.x

Captain Fabio June 23rd, 2012 3:17 PM

Web Designers are paid surprisingly well, from what I have seen. However, does depend on the languages you know, where some people think being a Web Designer is just HTML, CSS and so on, they might be looking for Flash and others.

Either way, it is the easier programming languages and you can get easy jobs on the side.

I agree with that. It's great to have a job at that time.. but not the responsibilities of a "real adult" haha!

Palamon June 23rd, 2012 3:32 PM

"Real adult." Lol.

I'm bored so I made up a cheating scenario.

Two girls are playing Monopoly.

Sasha: "Lets play Monopoly!"
Hailey: "Okay."
Sasha: "I'll dish out the money."
Sasha: *Gives herself all the money and the bank and gives Hailey none.*
Sasha: "I win! <3"
Hailey: "Come on! That's not fair you cheated by giving yourself all the money in the bank."
Sasha: "Whoever said I play fair?"
Haily: "Grrr---than I'm not playing!" *Stomps off.*

Nah this was a lot easier than most web designer jobs and only paid minimum wage, hahahah. They wouldn't let me into the actual source code of the pages to change things either >:/ The two web designer jobs I have under my belt now should be helpful when I go to look for a programming career though.

They are indeed :) The required languages/skills to make a decent living as a web developer are, PHP, Javascript, HTML & CSS a bonus would be flash/actionscript. You also need to be a average designer

Quiznos/Penn Station sounds amazing right now.

donavannj June 23rd, 2012 7:08 PM

My first job was at 16 doing data entry through a temp agency. I'd still be working that job if they hadn't cut the only shift I was able to work.

Sorry, Live, I had dinner at a Chinese buffet 4 hours ago that I'm still full from. I will have to disagree that Quizno's sounds good right now.

Cherrim June 23rd, 2012 7:47 PM

I haven't held very many jobs in my lifetime. ._. I didn't ever have a job (that wasn't something like delivering local papers) until I was 18 and it was just a phone operator/hostess job at a local Chinese food place. Every job I've had since then I got through my dad's work.

I kind of dread entering the work force for real since I just haven't had much experience & I was hired on the spot without a real interview for the restaurant job so I don't even know how to job hunt. :s

Oryx June 23rd, 2012 7:50 PM

I got mad at my last job because I got all dressed up for the interview and my boss didn't bother to read my email where I said that I was on campus so he did a phone interview, it was annoying :(

Cherrim June 23rd, 2012 7:54 PM

Aww. :( Well, you call him your boss so it sounds like you got the job anyway? I guess that's a plus!

Netto Azure June 23rd, 2012 8:01 PM

I had some Nissan Cup Noodles, A Multivitamin, Granola Bars and some Lipton Black Tea. Quite the interesting mix.

Netto Azure June 23rd, 2012 8:06 PM

I was thinking about getting in and out burgers for dinner, but saved that spending for tomorrow when I go grocery shopping. Suggestions?

alisaie June 23rd, 2012 8:06 PM

I've been eating more than I usually do these days. Enough said.

Also I didn't get a job until... three weeks ago. I seriously need to be more productive in my life ahhh.

Mr. X June 23rd, 2012 8:07 PM

Hmm... Food.

Take a gander at this folks.

http://www.pizzamarketplace.com/article/195667/Let-s-Pizza-vending-machine-ready-for-U-S-debut

X is in love.

As for my job, computer repair shop. Sadly though, business is down so the odds of me losing that job in a month or two are pretty high. Especially since I kinda lack a collage degree for it. I lucked out getting that job though. One person who worked there quit, and the owner was desperate for a replacement. I walked in with a ACTA certificate for computer engineering, and since he needed the replace the last worker quickly, and no one else applied, he hired me.

I'm on a diet! I had a chicken sandwich for breakfast, then a piece of chicken and some yogurt since then :3 I might have another piece of chicken later as a late night snack before I sleep haha.

Oryx June 23rd, 2012 8:53 PM

My yogurt is the cheapest low-calorie yogurt. I don't have money for fancy yogurts, lmao. I do mix gelatin into my yogurt though - diet trick, it fills you up more with 0 calories and it's tasteless haha.

TRIFORCE89 June 23rd, 2012 9:00 PM

I haven't had plain Greek yoghurt. But I have had tzatziki. Close enough.

I start my mornings with some low-fast under 35 calories fruit yogurt. Stirred. I used to eat fruit-on-the-bottom kind because the fruit syrup was addictive XD

Also, did anyone ever eat these? I have a collection of these containers somewhere lol http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Muppets_Yogurt

Taemin June 23rd, 2012 9:12 PM

Lately, I've been hooked on eating vanilla yogurt with granola mixed it.

I could literally eat it for at least two meals of the day, for days on end, and be okay with it.

Not sure how, or why.. xD;

Also, aaaah Muppets yogurt.. how weird.

Cherrim June 23rd, 2012 9:23 PM

My parents have been trying to get me to try yogourt with fruit & granola in it but I'm not really a breakfast person and for the longest time, I've been unable to eat any dairy products for the first half of the day because my sleeping pills always gave dairy products a really gross metallic taste. :(

But now that I'm switching to different pills for a while, I kind of want to give it a try again. I just worry I'd forget about it or never have time in the mornings and the yogurt would just go to waste in the fridge which is probably the most likely thing. I might manage it if I bought those pre-packaged things where the granola comes in a little container attached to the plastic yogurt cup but they seem so expensive and wasteful...

Oh God me too. Dannon Light and Fit vanilla yogurt is the best with granola. Legit. Best yogurt I've had.

Anyone have Greek yogurt before? I've only had two, but each time the aftertaste was just terrible. :c Not even worth the yummy initial taste.

As far as I know, it shouldn't taste that different. More of a textural thing.

Taemin June 23rd, 2012 9:32 PM

Aaah, Erica that's a bummer.. that those pills give diary a metallic taste. ><; Man.
As for the cost, it really is cheaper to buy yogurt and granola separately. Yogurt is so cheap, and you can buy a box of granola for the same amount of money that it costs to buy one little container of a yogurt/granola mix. - w -

Greek yogurt I've only had once, and it had honey on the bottom..

I didn't mix it first, just sort of took a bite of the plain yogurt, and wow.
Nasty stuff on it's own, in my opinion.

AIN'T IT THOUGH OMG! Someone told me to add jam to it, so I'm going to try that one day! A friend sad even strawberry juice would be great in it, too. o3o
It's even good plain!

As far as I know, it shouldn't taste that different. More of a textural thing.

It taste different to me. :c
Like, just a weird aftertaste, more than anything.

Nasty stuff on it's own, in my opinion.

That sounds horrible. Yeah, the taste alone is horrific. Like, it needs a LOT of stuff to make it better.

Oh, and who remembers those silly Trix yogurt cups? I used to eat those every day. Probably wasn't healthy, but oh well~

I remember the commercials. Never had one though

Oryx June 23rd, 2012 9:41 PM

Yogurt and ice cream are not even close to the same thing, droomph. XD;

Bro, I still eat those. Cotton candy and strawberry kiwi for the win.

One of my roommates insisted we buy Greek yogourt once. He then proceeded to never open it and we found it roughly 7 months later. Needless to say, we did not try it. :(

As for the cost, it really is cheaper to buy yogurt and granola separately. Yogurt is so cheap, and you can buy a box of granola for the same amount of money that it costs to buy one little container of a yogurt/granola mix. - w -

Yeah, it really sucked. XD; I'm not on them anymore but after a year of it, it's pretty hard to shake the idea that dairy in the morning = bad. I know it's just fine but the stigma I've associated with it now... gonna take a while to get over it. (And I'm probably going back to those pills in a few months anyway so ugh. x_X)

I know it's much cheaper to buy separately but I'm not a breakfast person to begin with so I just fear I'd neeever take the time to mix them if it wasn't in a ridiculously convenient place for me to do it in from the start. :P Buying them packaged together is the only way I'd eat it that way, I think, and I feel like I wouldn't enjoy it as much if I knew in the back of my head that I could be enjoying the same thing but like $0.50 cheaper per helping. (I have no idea what the actual savings would be like, just guessing there. XD)

Oryx June 23rd, 2012 9:45 PM

Well Erica granola holds forever so even if you don't mix them you can have it plain or with milk as cereal :3 There are cheap little yogurts, maybe get a few containers to start out with and see if it sticks? And then if it does spring for the big stuff XD

Next to lunch, which can be just a sandwich, breakfast is so easy. Within 10 minutes you have an egg ready. Take a container of yogurt out of the fridge. Maybe wash a fruit. Done.

Or cereal. Cereal is quick.

My aunt use to make a mayhaw jelly before she passed. It was so delicious. <3

Prolly tasted the same as it did seven months ago. D':
Not really, but I had some nasty Greek yogurt.

Well, I'm also not a huge fan of granola to begin with. XD; I like some granola bars but usually only the sugary ones. They have to be pretty sweet for me to eat them regularly. I think I'd only like it in yogourt for the added texture. :x

Yeah but I'm never hungry for the first few hours after I wake up and by the time I am hungry, it's lunch time so I have something more hearty than just a breakfast dish. I don't like eggs, so they're out. I don't buy individual containers of yogourt because they're hella expensive. Don't like many fruits.

Love cereal but haven't been able to eat dairy products in the morning for the longest time. XD;

Your second post (which I deleted from the quote) had three font tags in it wtf.

Honestly, before Android, I'd never seen it called "froyo" before. I'm pretty sure I'd seen frogurt once or twice but really, I never see it condensed much at all.

...I used to love raisin bran on its own until I stopped liking raisin. XD; I don't like sugar near milk, though. :s Or at least, I didn't when I was a kid.

Some are really good! Though I typically only eat the snack-type ones rather than healthy ones. @[email protected]; So I'll eat granola bars with chocolate chips in them (<33) and my recent favourite is this kind that's made with peanuts and has... I think it's like, a very smooth peanut butter along the bottom? Whatever it is, it's delicious but sooo sweet that I can just tell it can't be good for me, haha.

Oryx June 23rd, 2012 10:22 PM

I used to have those vanilla milks by Yoohoo and they were sooo good. ;o; Also my school has a frozen yogurt machine and everyone calls it froyo! And if you google Froyo it shows Frozen Yogurt so I win :3

...Yoohoo had a vanilla flavor? WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN?

donavannj June 23rd, 2012 10:51 PM

Frogurt dates back to 1992 in a Simpsons episode, though! froyo is a term hipsters made up around 5 years ago to pretend it was something cool and original

It was Nesquik after some research. They have some ready-to-drink bottles of chocolate, vanilla, banana, and strawberry.

Girl, you got me excited like you don't even know.
But I remember the banana flavor. It had a Tweety Bird design on it for a little while. I think that was around when the Looney Tunes movie came out or something, idk. All I remember is that I was not liking the banana milk. The vanilla tasted like melted vanilla ice cream, which I love. <3
Strawberry is by far my favorite milk flavor, though. Sweet, creamy, AND PINK.

I'm going to play the Spaniard! Here every supermarket has 6 different brands of Greek yogourt and it's very hard to find someone who likes yogourt and doesn't have a few ones in their fridge XD

In exchange, frozen yogourt was first seen like last month or so. Haven't really got around to trying it because it sounds so weird XD

Captain Fabio June 24th, 2012 2:14 AM

I haven't had yogourt in agessss. I wonder what state the yogourt was in then, if it was yogourt still and not some, living thing.
