If you're not a fan of root beer then you probably wouldn't like it that much. Dr Pepper is the forbidden love child of Coke and Root Beer.

It's like you read my mind Toujours. I do that all the time whenever I have the necessary ingredients. But I prefer downing the alcohol and then drinking the Dr Pepper, since mixing just dilutes the Dr Pepper but doesn't completely dilute the crappy vodka.

vaporeon7 July 15th, 2012 12:05 PM

I hate drinking all soda now. It makes me burp (a lot) and when I really think about it, I never really did enjoy the taste that much. That's just me I guess.

Oryx July 15th, 2012 12:17 PM

I like Dr. Pepper though and hate root beer Luck, so where does that leave me? D;

Kanto_Johto July 15th, 2012 12:33 PM

Isn't root beer the stuff that tastes like fizzy medicine?

donavannj July 15th, 2012 12:59 PM

Personally, I prefer cream soda to root beer.

Overlord Drakow July 15th, 2012 1:46 PM

Why can't you guys just stick to water. It's good for you! >=D

donavannj July 15th, 2012 1:56 PM

I already have plenty of water during the week. I generally drink 3 liters per day on days I'm working.

Jellicent♀ July 15th, 2012 2:37 PM

I haven't had a soda in the past seven months. o3o
I used to drink literally about 2-4 liters a day, and it was ridiculous. I'd get ulcers in my mouth all the time, as well as in my stomach.

That said, root beer was always my favorite. <3 Mug root beer was the best, A&W was second. Barq's sucks. Always has. But if it's the only root beer left, i'll drink it. I hate Dr. Pepper. It was nasty as heck. D;

Overlord Drakow July 15th, 2012 2:59 PM

I only get sick of water if I drink loads really quickly.

Yoshikko July 15th, 2012 3:16 PM

I'm NEVER sick of water, it's just deliccccious and sometimes I just crave it so much, it's like air for me lol.

Oryx July 15th, 2012 3:17 PM

Water is completely boring. The only way to make it interesting is to add flavorings which are full of sugar.

Kanto_Johto July 15th, 2012 3:24 PM

I get bored drinking water. I think most of my water intake comes from cups of tea and occasionally Kool Aid (whenever I can buy it from sweet shops that stock American stuff).

Yoshikko July 15th, 2012 3:36 PM

I used to do that just like you know lemonade or grenadine or whatever it's called, but recently I kind of decided to want to stay away a bit more from sugar (not natural) so yea :/

Honest July 15th, 2012 3:49 PM

I have a whole 24 pack of soda... well, had. There's like 4 left now. o_o

Kroso July 15th, 2012 3:54 PM

Water is decent, I still prefer milk over that any day.

Oryx July 15th, 2012 3:55 PM

I know people say that diet soda is bad for you but tbh it's hard for me to believe until I see a real study that was performed the way a study should be performed, which is really near impossible. And then I see things like "how do you gain weight from diet soda? Find out at 11!" and it's always something dumb like "diet soda makes you want to each refined sugars more!". I don't eat refined sugars, so diet soda doesn't make me gain weight.

I think doctors hate diet soda but they don't have any really good studies backing them up so they just think of everything possible to make people not drink it. :/

Honest July 15th, 2012 3:56 PM

But wasn't there a study on mice? And it gave them cancer, I THINK. I know there was a whole court case and all, for sure. So the creator of aspartame literally bought his way into the market.

Oryx July 15th, 2012 4:03 PM

So you're basing your opinion on aspartame on a study you can barely even remember?

Quote:

Many studies have looked for health effects in lab animals fed aspartame, often in doses higher than 4,000 mg/kg per day over their lifetimes. These studies have not found any health problems that are consistently linked with aspartame.

Two studies published by a group of Italian researchers suggested that very high doses of aspartame might increase the risk of some blood-related cancers (leukemias and lymphomas) in rats. However, both the FDA and the EFSA have called these results into question, citing a lack of some important data in the published studies and other concerns.

I didn't have an opinion in that post. I was just saying/asking. Meh, I don't like taking risks. So I don't drink them. But hey, to each his own, no?

Oryx July 15th, 2012 4:09 PM

I meant the creator of aspartame buying his way into the market, lol. I know that most people aren't going to look into it beyond what the news and stuff says about diet soda ("IT'S BAD DON'T DRINK IT"), it's just a pet peeve of mine when people start talking about how unhealthy it is. >_o

Yoshikko July 15th, 2012 4:18 PM

Well sugar is bad for you, and in diet sodas they put chemical sweeteners which are worse for your health than sugar, right.

Oryx July 15th, 2012 4:25 PM

Nope, that's the point I'm making. Everyone thinks the artificial sweetener is bad for you but no studies actually show that, lol. It's not really the fault of people though because that's the image that's thrust in their face for some reason by news programs and such. I guess they get higher ratings by scaring people, haha.

Yoshikko July 15th, 2012 4:29 PM

Well, maybe, but I guess it's a generally common thing that artificial things usually aren't better than natural things, food wise and stuff. I don't know whether there are studies or not but I can understand if there aren't really because it seems logical because it is the case with most other things.

Oryx July 15th, 2012 4:33 PM

There are hundreds of studies on the sweetener actually, none saying that there are significant health risks to having aspartame as opposed to sugar. It's not that the studies don't exist, it's that they exist and all signs point to nothing wrong with it.

In science you can't just follow "common sense" because often common sense isn't true, haha.

Yoshikko July 15th, 2012 4:38 PM

Oh didn't know that, well if it's been proven to not be worse than regular soda then that's solved I guess lol. That doesn't make it healthy though obviously, soda is still really bad XD We have some organic sodas here though I guess they're a bit better.
