I love Totodile.
Also, what do you mean by 'other'? |
The fire starters so
Chimchar (D,P,PL) Cyndaquil (SS) |
Over the various games I chose all three Sinnoh starters, but my first was Turtwig.
I chose Cyndaquil in Heart Gold. I don't really choose them in preference of type - I like picking different starters each time I replay so I can build different teams around them. |
In Pearl, I chose Turtwig. Later bred it, and now use a lv. 100 shiny Torterra.
In SS, which I play most now, I chose Totodile. Used it until it was lv. 46, then locked it away in a box. |
I chose Chimchar first in Diamond and got Piplup in Platinum. Never owned Pearl.
When HeartGold and SoulSilver came around, I picked Chikorita for the former and Cyndaquil for the latter. |
I'm playing through HeartGold and I chose Chikorita as my starter, who evolved into Bayleef within two days of playing the game.
|
Chimchar because he looks cute and i absolutely love Infernape's design. Plus i love the Fire/Fighting combo and i didn't mind them using itr twice (Yes, Tepig was too much...).
Totodile because he is such a hilarious and hyper-active pokemon, plus i love how he is inspired by a crocodile/alligator. |
For Platinum I chose Chimchar and for Soulsilver I chose Cyndaquil.
|
I thought I had answered this before...
Pearl: Turtwig Platinum: Chimchar Heartgold: Chikorita Soulsilver: Totodile |
in my first ever game which was pearl i chose turtwig because my other two friends chose piplup and chimchar and i wanted to be different than them and also turtwig was adorable. also torterra is one of my favorite pokemon. i chose piplup in platinum because i wanted to try something different. in heartgold i chose chikorita because it was very cute and again i wanted to be different. also i already chose cyndaquil in crystal :D
|
What does it mean by other?
Unless you AR them in... |
Quote:
|
Sinnoh: Chimchar definetely. I must have a fire type pokémon in my team.
Jotho: Totodile. Cause I always catch a Growlithe ^^. That kinda happens always when I play gen II games. Although my best gen II game (crystal) was with Cyndaquil as starter. |
Totodile for life! i use him in my heart gold game, so, I choose you Totodile!
|
Cyndaquill in HG/SS and Turtwig in Platinum :) But next time I play Platinum I'll choose chimchar. Torterra wasn't bad, but I wanna to make a full IV Gen team and it lacks fire-types pokémon :s
|
I chose Chimchar in Diamond (my friend told me to, I was young and didn't understand much about Pokemon, and I thought Chimchar was adorable :3), and then in Platinum I went with Turtwig (back then I followed along with Marilland - I basically made my team EXACTLY like his :/)..then I tried SoulSilver and used Totodile. After that, I replayed Platinum and used Piplup.
|
Diamond/Pearl/Platinum
Always Piplup. He makes the game much easier for later Gyms. HeartGold/SoulSilver Always Cyndaquil. He makes Steel Pokémon look like chumps. Especially late game. |
I allways chose....
D/P/PT - Piplup... I very like this cute Peguin HG/SS - Tododile... Strong and Deadly Crocodile/Aligator/Cayman or something like that XD |
OMG who wouldn't like a monkey as a friend? a monkey who plays with fire too!
Meganium is my most favourite pokemon, naturally I'll choose it. |
Haha, yeh I'm definitely going with either Piplup or (preferably) Totodile to suit a mono-Water themed team. :3 Water-type starters appeal to me a whole more than the others purely because each one so far is distinct and interesting! (though not saying that the other starters are diverse):)
|
Piplup and Chikorita are my favorites from Gen 4.
|
For Pearl, the first starter I chose was Chimchar because I like fire types.
For SoulSilver, I picked Chikarita because I had never used it in my original Gold or Silver. When I got HeartGold, I chose Totodile because I choose it in my original Silver but I never beat it because it broke D; |
I picked Chimchar on my first try of Diamond.
And I picked Cyndaquil in Heartgold. I am fond of fire types. :3 |
On my replaythroughs of the game I decided to try different starters, ones that I don't normally consider. I've overdone water to be honest so I decided to take a break and give the other types a little love. In Platinum I decided to go with Turtwig, mainly because there were other great fire-types I wanted to catch later on in the game such as Houndoom.
In Soulsilver, I had already chosen Totodile in Heartgold and I decided to give Cyndaquil a go since it's design was adorable and apparently it was a ferocious and powerful attacker in it's final evolutions. |
I've always been a fire person, so of course I chose Chimchar in Pearl and Cyndaquil in SS.
|
I usually just chose the cutest.
Piplup, in Pearl and Diamond because I liked penguins at that time, and Chikorita for HeartGold. I still like Cyndaquil and Chimchar though, I just like Chikorita and Piplup. |
Cyndaquil and Chimchar. FIRE TYPES STARTERS FTW.
But I like Cyndaquil way more than Chimchar only to let you know. |
In DP yeah, I went for Piplup. C'mon, it's a penguin, who wouldn't?
And in Platinum, the exact same penguin all over again, just hours after restarting Diamond :/ For SoulSilver it was Cyndaquil, but for HeartGold it was Totodile, and I didn't get to the Elite Four on SS. |
I always choose fire types as starters, so Chimchar in Platinum and Cyndaquil in Soul Silver.
|
Piplup evolves into a steel penguin... I don't even have to give you more reasons why it's the best.
|
chicoritia (excuse the spelling)
but i prefer grass pokemon because you can really mess with trainers battle plans. poisonpowder, sleep powder. ect. plus giga drain. at high levels grass pokemon become virtually unstoppable |
Chimchar and Cyndaquil! Fighting Monkeys and Burning otters; it doesn't get cooler than that.
|
Poor Chikorita and Turtwig! ): I chose both in my first playthroughs of the respectives games. However I'm now going to be using Totodile as I got my shiny one!
|
I chose turtwig for my first runthrough of Diamond, and currently have a bayleef (so chickorita) in SoulSilver
|
Chimchar has never failed me in D/P/Platinum. Though I absolutely love Piplup!
For HGSS, Cyndaquil is great but Chikorita is awesome too. In fact, it happens to be my favorite grass-type starter. |
I've used all starters at least once in D/P, but the starter I spent the longest time on / with was Piplup. It's one of the only Pokemon I've ever had with which I managed to hit Level 100.
As for HG/SS, I've used both Cyndaquil and Totodile, but by far my favourite out of those is Cyndaquil, because it's an early Fire-type and I can't easily obtain Growlithe in SoulSilver. |
In Pokemon Platinum, I choose either Chimchar or Turtwig as they are both my favourite pokemon in the sinnoh region (and they are really powerful) and in HG & SS my starters were either totodile or cyndaquil
|
In Diamond it was a tough choice between Chimchar and Piplup as I liked them both quite a lot and their evolutions, but ultimately I chose Chimchar because I like fire types. I would later pick Piplup on Platinum to make up for that previous decision.
On Heart Gold and Soul Silver I picked Cyndaquil which is the easiest choice in the world for me because my favourite pokémon is Typhlosion. I'm glad to see Cyndaquil is quite a popular choice amongst other members too. |
I always chose Chimchar and Cyndaquil, unless doing a challenge where I needed to use one of the others.
|
I chose Chimchar on my first Pearl playthrough, however I quickly started over due to a bad nature and decided to pick Turtwig instead.
On Soulsilver I chose Totodile because I found it the most useful in Silver. |
I'm definitely a fire type person. So Cyndaquil.
Though Chimchar is awesome, I prefer pure fire types to fire/fighting, though I will admit it can be useful, I just prefer straight up fire. :3 |
I chose Turtwig for my playthrough, before having an incomplete game with my Piplup which I ditched (still feel sorry...). Because he looks nice and of course I am in love with Torterra's ability to beat both starters!
And of course, as per my Water type tradition I took Totodile after having a nice breezing playthrough with it in Gold. |
Chimchar for me currently coz I started playing PLatinum i-e First 4th gen game 3 days ago
|
Grass types all the way. I chose Chikorita in SoulSilver but ended up replacing him with Dragonite later on in the game. I chose Turtwig in Pearl and kept him the whole way through, mainly to use ground type moves after he evolved in to Torterra.
|
I always pick the fire starter.
|
I didn't know Piplup was that popular among fans but yea I did pick Piplup as my starter.
For HG/SS it was Cyndaquil still. |
Chimchar in Platinum and Chikorita in SoulSilver.
|
Didn't have to think about it much since I was going to use all three Sinnoh starters, I picked Piplup in Diamond, Turtwig in pearl and Chimchar in Platinum. Chimchar however is my preferred out of the three.
In HG/SS I picked Totodile and Cyndaquil, never liked using Chikorita... |
I chose Chimchar. After seeing Piplupe's motionless body when my sister had her file, I decided I prefer monkey butt to motionless penguins. :x
|
I chose Cyndaquil in HGSS, but that's because I always choose fire types. :]
|
I loved torterra in diamond. Earthquake and leaf storm made it virtually unstoppable!
I didn't use a starter in diamond, and i have no regrets. |
I tend to always choose the fire starters, except for in Hoenn. So here it's Cyndaquil and Chimchar. I just feel comfortable having a fire starter. I always keep my starter on my team and Fire is a good type to keep. Especially Fire/Fighting; even though I agree that three such starters in a row was a bit over the top, I still enjoy the typing.
|
I usually choose fire types, but in Diamond I didn't like Chimchar that much so Piplup was my choice!
As for HG/SS: Cyndaquil, because fire. :D |
Piplup in D/P/Pt and Chikorita in HG/SS. Piplup was the cutest of the bunch in Sinnoh so I didn't have a hard time choosing, and the Chikorita line were always my favorite grass types~
