Which includes catching them all. AND I MEAN THEM ALL. It appears that missing events count as missing, though I'm not sure about Meloetta and Genesect.

vaporeon7 July 2nd, 2012 2:23 PM

I am going to try and get all the medals because I like to try and fully complete my games. I like the idea because it gives me even more things to do after the Trainer Card.

They normally don't require you to catch event Pokémon.

Ω Ruby and α Sapphire July 2nd, 2012 10:56 PM

Sounds awesome. Gotta get em all!

XtinaIsMeLuvinWWE July 10th, 2012 2:39 PM

I like that it says (on Serebii) you can get them for catching pokémon - it's kind of like the dude in Solaceon Town that gave you poké balls for the same thing :)

I like it personally, it's another thing that you can work towards in addition to the main journey :)

Melinda July 28th, 2012 3:57 PM

I actually love the medal system. It's something fun I can work on post-game. There are so many of them, though. Might take a while to collect them all.

PlatinumDude July 28th, 2012 4:30 PM

I don't think I'll be able to get all the medals in B2/W2 because I don't really bother much with completing the Pokedex. But still, they're a neat addition because of how you get rewarded for doing certain "bonuses."

antemortem July 28th, 2012 6:57 PM

eh, I wish Pokemon games wouldn't go in the same direction as Sony, but whatever.

nuzamaki90 August 12th, 2012 3:58 AM

I wasn't too excited about the Medal System at first and I'm still not, but I do like it a bit.

Maybe it's because I love unlocking Achievements on the 360, I just love getting rewarded for doing something right in a game.

I just wish you don't have to run all the way to a PkMn Center just to get the medals, I'd rather their be a notification of some form that says you got this medal.

kohei August 19th, 2012 12:27 AM

For those who want to complete medals:
Tentori Thousand/Scoring a Thousand is probably the hardest medal to get.
Scoring a 1000 points in Fes Missions requires the participation of at least 30 good players who know how to rack up points.

Kevin August 19th, 2012 11:37 AM

Yeah, probably after defeating the main game I'll get all the medals so I can feel complete. Lol it reminds me of the Trophy system a little from Kingdom Hearts.

Bourne-mouth August 19th, 2012 3:31 PM

Wow. I like this new feature. I can't wait to get this done with and earn all medals!

I guess I'm a little used to using only one Pokemon in beating the E4, so that said achievement will be a piece of cake.

Xander Olivieri August 19th, 2012 8:35 PM

You can do it Hihihiroshi~ Claim all da metals~

What is the hardest medal you had to get so far?

Elite Overlord LeSabre™ August 20th, 2012 6:53 AM

I have no intention of completing these medals, because a number of the requirements are utterly ridiculous. I am not playing the minigames, I am not going to torture myself with the world tournament, and I am certainly not going to even attempt to beat the Elite Four with one Pokemon, just so I can "earn" a medal. Overall, it's a rather pointless addition. I don't know if it's supposed to motivate me to actually do some of these absurd things in the game, but sorry, mission failed.

Overall it feels like a forced attempt to pad the length of the game.

Dusk White August 21st, 2012 1:56 PM

I got a medal case. I almost got a medal.

o Pikachu o August 27th, 2012 1:20 PM

I can't wait for this. I'm gonna collect all of them even though it'll take me forever to do because some are kind of hard to get. I mean look at the medal Rush Hour : Pass by 1,000 people using the C-Gear...

In LeafGreen I have at least 40 hours just doing nothing, so I think this is to keep the after-game a tad bit more interesting, because believe me, many people mess around in the post-game for no reason really.

For example, after beating the E4 enough times you'll take it on yourself to beat them with only one Pokémon. This is just making it more justifiable why the hell you do that.

Of course, you may not do it, but believe me many people do.

I had a sort of "internal" medal system going already, so this is just putting that on paper.

tl;dr not padding, enhancing.

Actually, his house is in Floccesy Town/Sangi Town, a.k.a. the first town you visit outside of Aspertia City ^^;

Anyways, I think it's a good, innovative way to keep people into the games~ I'm not gonna purposely try getting medals until I get the English copies because I can't fully understand Japanese, but they're definitely something that I'll likely enjoy doing.

darkpokeball August 29th, 2012 4:52 PM

A-achivements? In Pokemon games?
No. I like achievements in some games, but I usually never get them. (The only game that I got all achievements in is ATLA: The Burning Earth...and there were 5. And they were meant for little kids. Like, five-year olds.) It also sucks because my highly competitive brother(who can't stand me beating him*cough* disconnects *cough*)will end up trying to get them all just to tick me off.

Achievements are kind of demotivational to me, so...I'm going to try to AVOID getting medals. That seems like a challenge in itself, referring to the easier ones.

Xander Olivieri August 29th, 2012 5:15 PM

You really can't avoid them. Most are recieved by random things like take x amount of steps. Beat So and so. Stuff like that. You CAN however not collect them as to get them you have to talk to the old man in the Pokemon Center that stands near Nurse Joy.

ThisOrTheApocalypse August 29th, 2012 7:28 PM

I am definitely looking forward to this feature. I think this will give some of us(who get completely bored after the E4) something to continue onto doing, rather than starting over multiple times.

Twilight-kun September 2nd, 2012 8:43 PM

...Time to get an Action Replay!

SouKoLian9102 September 2nd, 2012 10:40 PM

Achievements. Achievements. Lets all just take a moment to see how much Pokemon has improved over the years. OMG I can't breathe because of my feels ;A;
These look so fun to get. Seriously, as soon as I finish the story mode of a game, I try to finish all the achievements.
Looks like my overachiever mode has been activated. Can't wait 'till October.

chella182 September 3rd, 2012 3:33 AM

Sounds interesting for sure! I can't really say how much I'll like it until I play the game, but for now, I really am liking the sound of it. The main reason achievements are so popular in 360 games is that they add an element of re-playability or extended playability to a game once you've completed the main storyline. I mean, I know Pokémon games usually have some sort of story post-game, but not that much (aside from GSC/HGSS, whose post-game was massive). I think it'll give you a reason to continue playing the game aside from trying to complete your dex.
