female starters?

Does anybody know If you have to do anything to get female starters, or is it just random chance?

You really don't have to do anything but reset until you get one! :)

It's based on the individual species male to female percentage. Each POKeMON in the DEX has a percentage in which it could be Male or Female. Meaning the chances are based on those percentages. Not necessarily random.

But if you're concerned with the gender of your POKeMON save before picking your starter and soft reset if you don't get the one you want.

Yeah, it's just luck. Note also that with the starter Pokemon the chance for it to be female is 1/8, so it may take a few resets.

Answered so going to close. If you have any other questions use the Help thread sticky at the top of the section please.
