Ephemeral Euphoria September 12th, 2012 2:14 PM

For me it's the beasts due to the backstory and design. The golems come in a close second though due to the puzzles required to reach them.

blue September 12th, 2012 2:32 PM

The originals, Articuno, Moltres & Zapdos! I love their designs and they will always remain the favourites for me.

windy_leo September 13th, 2012 7:21 AM

I will choose Suicune, Entei, Raikou
I love them, that it's :D

Squirrel September 20th, 2012 7:08 AM

I love the legendary golems, they're so well designed and the concept is amazing. The fact that they're these ancient guardians is so cool, plus their appearances in the Lucario movie were utterly awesome. They're not the best in battle and they certainly aren't the easiest to catch, but I feel that their background and the whole mystery surrounding them very much makes up for it. Also the puzzles to find them are cool x3

Rambagos September 20th, 2012 7:29 AM

I picked Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza. They all are my favorite Pokèmon among the option above. Trio Weather are pretty helpfull for my Uber team especially Kyogre.

Kikaito plush September 20th, 2012 7:40 AM

I am picking the lake trio even though you have to chase one of them.

Olli September 20th, 2012 8:06 AM

THE BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRDS!

But yeah, definitely the three legendary birds. This may come off being the only trio where I've actually caught all of them in the same game and been able to use and enjoy using in battle. Moltres and I don't get along that awfully well, but Articuno and Zapdos are actually some of my favourite legendaries, and one last thing that also supports my love for these, I'm a bit of a nostalgiafreak :(

TwilightBlade September 20th, 2012 8:24 AM

Hmm I'm going with Raikou, Suicune, and Entei. They have a interesting backstory. The beasts were granted a second chance at life, which is really neat.

Ryliam September 21st, 2012 6:20 PM

I like the legendary dog trio the most :3 cause 2nd gen is my favourite gen :3

MiTjA September 22nd, 2012 12:11 AM

I like it how no one noticed musketeers aint on the list besides me.

He means Raikou, Entei, and Suicune. (I think)

Anyways, I wanna vote for the musketeers. I love their designs and how you can get all of them in one place to teach Keldeo a new move.

Avishka September 22nd, 2012 1:27 AM

The original Zapdos, Articuno, Moltres bcuz i love gen 1 shortly followed by Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem bcuz I love their type combinations and their design

XtinaIsMeLuvinWWE September 23rd, 2012 11:46 AM

Honestly a tough one. I think Reshiram etc work well as a trio but my favourite will probably always be the Legendary Birds :)

Shining Raichu September 26th, 2012 5:16 PM

Personally I wouldn't even count Groudon/Kyogre/Rayquaza and Dialga/Palkia/Giratina as Legendary Trios because although they most definitely are, they're the game mascots and integral parts to the plot of the games, which sort of gives them a category all their own.

So of the remaining ones, definitely Articuno/Zapdos/Moltres. Articuno and Moltres are just beautiful birds. Regal, majestic and gorgeous in every way. Zapdos is less pretty but still pretty badass. I also love the way they did it in the Kanto games where you have to travel to different parts of the region specifically to collect them, it made me feel like I was going on my very own adventure. Getting Articuno was particularly fun because you had to surf to an as-yet-unknown place that you wouldn't even have known was there other than people were talking about Articuno resting there as legend.

It's much better, I think, than the Johto/Sinnoh/Unova running-around-and-finding-Pokemon-that-could-appear-absolutely-anywhere-no-matter-if-you're-prepared BS. I really didn't enjoy hunting either of those trios. It was hard and frustrating and not at all fun.

Dito.
Id also exclude Reshiram/Zekrom/Kyurem from the list, and perhaps even Thundurus/Tornadus/Landorus.
Because the term "Legendary trio" really foremost relates to the standard first three legends introduced every generation, that are equally special, have exactly 580TBS, and all appear in the middle of the plot before the E4. (The first are mascots too, not to mention Kyurem is quite a different role and concept, and the second are more like [email protected], the usual extra legends, except they happen to have a third, different superior cousin..)
Which the legendary birds set up.
And has since been continued as a tradition with the beasts, golems, pixies and now the musketeers.
Even though people will argue that there is Keldeo, it is not an equal member, but rather a fourth special member to the trio, similar to Regigigas.

So groups like Kyogre/Groudon/Rayquaza, to me are a duo with their guardian, rather than a trio.

Snowdrop September 27th, 2012 2:23 PM

^ Thank you for the in-depth suggestion but I honestly don't care that much about the technological aspects, a trio's got three, that's how it rolls for me :P

giradialkia September 27th, 2012 2:38 PM

I was going to say Dialga/Palkia/Giratina, but Shining Raichu's post makes a lot of sense, so I've thought about it :P

It's hard to decide on a Legendary Trio that I like the best. I didn't use the Musketeers all that much but I'm just.. not altogether crazy about them. And I think the Elves are okay too, but the fact that they're ALL Psychic really irked me.

So that leaves the Golems, Beasts and Birds.
The Golems are cool but single typings (particularly pure-Rock types) don't do it for me. And the beasts generally have just a bit too few decent moves for my liking (rather, moves that I actually like to use). So, I guess my favourite trio are the Birds. I've used at least one of them in pretty much every playthrough of LeafGreen, and being Legendary Pokemon they've always been valuable additions to my team. So I like the birds the best, even though I know they could be beaten by the likes of the Regis with relative ease.

Demon. September 27th, 2012 2:38 PM

The only trio i dont really care for is the Psychic fairies in D/P/PT. I chose the birds, as they were my first trio of legendaries ever.

Are there Oceans in Space? September 27th, 2012 6:11 PM

Anything but the Regis. Ugh, I hated them.

But I really like Groudon/Kyogre/Rayquaza, even though I didn't agree with Groudon being Ground-type. The weather aspects were nice touches though.

ShinyUmbreon189 September 27th, 2012 6:36 PM

I like the legendary Dogs trio. Suicune is one of my favorite Pokemon out of all the Pokemon and it's design is amazing. Intei is cool too but I don't really care for Raikou's design too much. The legendary bird trio was a close one tho.

Aryan143 September 27th, 2012 6:51 PM

I choosed the Dialga, Palkia and Giratina because I love them.

Well the issues I see is, either the golems and the musketeers are trios, or they are both quartets depending on whether you count a special separate fourth member or not.

Queen October 1st, 2012 3:02 PM

I always go for the original, which are Zapdos, Moltres and Articuno. The were awesome in the Pokemon Movie: The Power of One and I loved them ever since !
They were also in my Pokemon party the first time I fought the Elite 4 (Though they didn't do much)

Retro Bug October 1st, 2012 3:27 PM

Johto is definitely my favorite region but Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres are definitely my favorite legendaries.

I agree the Musketeers should be in here, I like them! They're a close second.

Dragon-T October 1st, 2012 3:29 PM

I chose the tao trio because they represent something. They represent truth and ideals and coexist. And kyurem is like a mix of the two and gives a feeling of equality between zekrom and reshiram.(and i like the designs)
