I stayed home and handed out candy this year (just getting over the flu, so I didn't feel like doing to much). We bought enough candy for about 100 kids, even though we only average about 60-70 each year. Unless there are some really late stragglers, it looks like we only had 9 kids show up this year, which is a pretty disappointing turnout. Oh well, more leftover candy for me.

Halloween just isn't a thing in New Zealand??????? There were some kids who turned up at our door, but we just gave them a few bits of candy from our tiny stash and sent them on their way. It's nowhere as big as it is in America, you Americans are crazy.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

We had a nice, quiet (and boring) night here.. no trick or treaters :(

but the good news: lots of left over candy for me!

Livewire October 31st, 2012 9:28 PM

I didn't even have any candy this Halloween, what is wrong with me. :(

Nick October 31st, 2012 9:33 PM

Halloween just isn't as big of a thing these days as it used to be. I remember back in the day, we would always have tons of people come knocking on our door and there would hardly be any candy left by the time I got home from trick or treating (which was usually around 11:30 at night) and tons of kids would be flocking the streets. These days, that's hardly the case. There's maybe one or two people walking down the street when I look out of the window and we haven't had anyone knock on our door (maybe it's because we moved?) in two years. Not a soul!!

Her October 31st, 2012 9:39 PM

Like 10 kids have knocked on my house over the last five years :(

Meganium October 31st, 2012 9:40 PM

Our neighborhood kinda sucked because there weren't any trick-or-treaters, so I took my sister, her friends and my cousins to the next town up north and that town was filled with kids trick or treating. Then we came home to find my parents and my aunts at home and played SSBB throughout the night. It was a pretty swell Halloween, I must say xD

Ours is postponed until Saturday... or Monday. I don't really know. The governor announced that it was postponed until Monday, but the mayor of our town and a few others announced it would be Saturday. It's really confusing and not what Halloween should be. But I was talking about recent years. It's just not what it used to be, and that's really depressing. :(

FREE NIGHTMARES FOR EVERYONE

Happy Halloween suckers!

But no, really, Happy Halloween.

Yes, I do realize this is probably already way too late for some people.

Yeah. :/ I can imagine there are a lot of things that are pretty out of the ordinary over there. I'm actually surprised you still have power at all, considering how many people in your state are without it.

I really like your governor except that he supports that nutjob Romney. >_>

It's hard to guess afetr seeing him these last two days gushing about how nice and competent the President is XD

I just laughed at this.
Full Metal Jacket is an awesome film though! >:3

Esper November 1st, 2012 8:21 AM

There was only one kid who knocked on my door. Spiderman. It was raining a lot so we let him take all the candy he wanted as thanks for braving the weather to protect us all from supervillains.

Oryx November 1st, 2012 8:36 AM

I watched zombie anime to make things feel more Halloween-y, haha. >_o

Broken_Arrow November 1st, 2012 1:27 PM

I watched some Martin Mystery "the return of the zombies" "horror in torrento school" and city of elves lol i love MM....that and watched Halloween however i hate that movie and Shiki <3

Treecko November 1st, 2012 1:38 PM

Well I watched Ju-On (yes the original) early this morning (1-2am) before going to bed and The Shining before that which ended after midnight. Earlier on Halloween I watched Child's Play 2.
I really wanted to The Nightmare Before Christmas but none of the movie channels were showing it.

Also saw the trail end of the 1999 remake of The Haunting. What I saw from it, was awful.

60 November 1st, 2012 1:50 PM

Went to a party for a little bit. Then my friends and I just watched movies for the rest of the night, eating store bought candy because we're too old to trick-or-treat. :P

Syltti November 1st, 2012 2:42 PM

Watched a Resident Evil Remake Let's Play and a Ju-On Let's Play.

I regret my choice of action.. q-q (Gets nightmares easily)

Mr Cat Dog November 1st, 2012 3:12 PM

Yesterday night, I watched an episode of RuPaul's Drag Race, of which the contestants' attempts at 'comedy' was probably more terrifying than any horror film in existence. Just dire!

And the wonderful thing with living in an apartment complex with an intercom and everything is no annoying children coming to my door! Not that I would have had anything to give them if they did show up...

Za_Destroyer November 1st, 2012 3:41 PM

My brothers and I went trick-or-treating. (And, no, I'm still young enough to trick or treat! ^_^) We hit the mother lode! We found the Holy Snickers Grale! I personally went as a scientist. Or to be specific, an "epicfailiontoligist," or a specialist in epic failures. ^_^

it's true, isn't it? We live way out in the country so we typically average around 1 kid per year (record is 3), but this year we got nobody at all.
I suppose today's kids prefer staying up all night playing cursing at each other while playing the most violent video games GameStop will sell them. :/

Carter November 1st, 2012 4:12 PM

Halloween isn't popular in my neighborhood. We got the occasional trick-or-treat children knocking on our door, but we weren't really prepared for that so we disappointed a lot of kids by not offering them candy. I went to my friend's house and we watched Sinister.

I have yet to sleep properly after that.

Oryx November 1st, 2012 4:18 PM

Just got some super cheap candy! Reese's Pieces, Dove Milk Chocolate, and Pumpkin candy corn.

Just watched some movies and relaxed, going out tomorrow though so it kiiinda makes up for it ;;

Captain Gizmo November 1st, 2012 4:33 PM

I had to go to dance practice for my girlfriend's 18th birthday lol. If I didn't have the practice, I probably would be at home watching scary movies by myself ^^

mikey November 1st, 2012 4:55 PM

Because of Hurricane Sandy, Halloween was rescheduled for November 5th for the trick or treaters here. On Halloween, I stayed in my house without power and heat because of the storm :/
