Yes. My parents got me a 3DS last year for Christmas because my DS Lite is slowly breaking. I have played all of my games on it since I got it.

I played the first few months of my Black 2 on a DS Lite but later got my 3DS for Christmas 2012, so that's when I switched over! Thank goodness you can play DS games on DS mode since playing on regular 3DS mode makes the screen stretchy.

But you need to use a microscope to see the screen as they get letterboxed and cover about half the already rather small-ish screen.

I played on my launch day 3DS, and it worked pretty well, although by the time I got the title the console was already rather overused.

I use my DSi (XL :pink_tongue:) because the DS games look awful on the 3DS. True, you can use the analog stick to move around easier, but it's really the quality of the games and the ability to read the words that matters

Musica May 5th, 2013 11:03 PM

Played for 2 times only on my 3DS XL. I'm still using my Lite to play Pokemon. It's easier to carry around.

pokenerdmania May 16th, 2013 8:36 AM

I will be getting a 3DS XL soon to play Whit 1 and 2, and X on.
I'll correct the resolution when playing the White games.

He pretty much got me right there

And I've compared the graphics and they look fine to me on the 3DS XL, but what evers

Nusdogg May 16th, 2013 3:47 PM

Yup, playing my B2 on my new 3DS XL.

Sar. May 16th, 2013 4:04 PM

I've just got a DS lite so I'm playing Black 2 on that.

retinaburn May 16th, 2013 7:46 PM

My primary system is my 3DS... as it was my first DS. I started playing at Gen V, and about a few years ago. Since then, I have worked backwards in acquiring other DS systems, as it is now my favorite gaming platform!

I also have a DSi XL, DS Lite, had a DSi but sold it on ebay... which I regret! If I had to choose a favorite, the DSi regular would be my favorite ergonomics and feature wise.

I often use my xl and lite for secondary playthroughs of Pokemon. So far I've made it through W1, B2, B1 next up W2!!

Nice retinaburn! I 3ds xl will be my first ds platform and I'm sure it will not be my last.

I played on the 3DS until I found out about X and Y. Since I'm kind of a goofy guy, I don't want to run the risk of breaking my 3DS on the sidewalk(...again) before october even comes, so I went back to playing on my lite to be on the safe side.

Qualot May 19th, 2013 4:53 AM

I thought I was the only one that did this.... O_o I guess not!
I play it on my 3dsXL because I think it makes it a beautiful game. It just doesn't look the same on my big DS what with it being super distorted and all.

Lokhlan May 19th, 2013 4:27 PM

I play Black 2 on my 3DS XL.

Just an FYI for those that may not know:

You can play DS games on your 3DS and 3DS XL in their original resolution by simultaneously holding "start" and "select" and starting your DS game. This is done via the home screen.

This just blew my mind, the graphics, so pretty...but so so tiny...

Zekrom1066 June 3rd, 2013 6:58 PM

I'm playing it on the DS, because I don't have a 3DS, and I would not waste money on it.

Pokemanz June 9th, 2013 10:50 AM

I've played White 2 on a 3DS, but I plan on playing Black 2 on my DS Lite because of the fact that I am more comfortable on a DS Lite playing this game.

But in all fairness, it's like the GBA quality on a DS. Looks good, but it's not the same.

When I get Dream Radar, that'll be my reason.

I didn't notice any difference between GBA and DS when I played my pokemon leaf green. If anything it looked the same/better.

Problem with 3DS is that it doesn't scale up the resolution of the games, so it basically stretches everything.

To answer the question: I'm playing on my NDS lite. Playing regular DS games on 3DS XL is terrible :/

Dansparce June 26th, 2013 5:40 PM

I play on my 3DS XL, because my Mario themed DS Lite is practically unusable now.

Melinda June 27th, 2013 3:24 AM

I use both my DS Lite and my 3DS. It depends on what I'm doing. If I'm playing normally I use the 3DS, but if I need to RNG or something I use my DS Lite.

Tsutarja June 28th, 2013 3:18 AM

I began playing Black 2 on my 3DS XL as soon as I got my 3DS XL.. but before I got my 3DS XL, I was playing it on my DSi XL..

As for the blurriness on screen, you can hold down the Start and Select buttons simultaneously, and the game will appear at its normal resolution, but it will shrunk into a window. (apologies if this was already mentioned)

Rizardon June 28th, 2013 6:28 AM

I used to play BW/2 on my DS lite until something went wrong with it (Wi-Fi connection wise) so now I play on the 3DS.

Whitney's Shaymin June 28th, 2013 6:44 AM

After I got my 3DS I bought my Black 2 and have fun with it now.

Eruption June 28th, 2013 6:55 AM

I bought my 3DS XL in preparation for X/Y and I hadn't played B/W 2 yet so I have only played it on that. Therefore I can't really compare to what it looks like on DS, but it does seem to look fine to me.

I might just try start + select and see for myself.

Edit: Tried it and though it makes things a bit sharper, I can't deal with all the black space it leaves. So I actually prefer the 3DS display.

rikdegraaff March 2nd, 2014 11:49 AM

I play my Black 2 always on my 3DS.
It's less quality but for me more comfort.

So I voted "3DS"!
