Daring Don't is the best S4 episode until now.

And a look back at the early days of FiM in 2010.

Meganium December 11th, 2013 7:03 PM

Can I be honest? I thought the whole "brony craziness" was born around 2011. I never thought it existed even before that. :| I find it mind-blowing @ that thread. It's like looking at a history of how the fandom began to evolve since the first season.

Houndour2005 December 12th, 2013 1:32 AM

Thy name for S4 is here.

http://www.equestriadaily.com/2013/12/episode-announcement-pinkie-apple-pie.html

Palamon December 12th, 2013 4:25 AM

Pinkie Apple Pie was of course, something I predicted, let me just say I knew a name like that was coming. xD

Let's see how Natasha does as a new writer, shall we?

Pinkie-Dawn December 12th, 2013 5:40 PM

Shoot, I'm going to miss the new MLP episode on Saturday, because I'll be at Disneyland by then. I'll need to record it, as well as other shows from Toonami at CN, while I'm out.

Meganium December 12th, 2013 8:07 PM

DVR's are extremely wonderful.

Also, mind if I bring in a topic for discussion? What does everyone think of Alicorn Twilight now? Has your opinions towards her have changed since the new season began?

Astinus December 12th, 2013 8:44 PM

I really didn't have much of an opinion on her after she became an alicorn, because the episode ended so quickly after she got her wings. Mostly, I wondered how they would handle her in season four, especially in regards to her still being in Ponyville and how she'd act around her friends. I'm glad to see that it's really just Twilight with wings right now rather than Princess Twilight unable to go on adventures. I'm pleased so far with what they've done with her, and look forward to seeing how that continues.

Meganium December 13th, 2013 8:21 AM

It kinda brought me down a bit when people started saying that "OH TWILIGHT IS GONNA RUIN SEASON 4 UGH F THIS AND THAT", but these bronies never gave themselves a chance to actually experience the real thing and never gave the writers a chance to bring what they were intending to bring. Right now, I see Twilight with her usual flaws from when she was just a unicorn. I'm glad she's not being her royal self oftentimes, as others had predicted. If only the bronies who stopped watching the show would give themselves another chance in watching the Season 4 premiere, they would change their opinions. xD

Palamon December 14th, 2013 8:13 AM

Flight to the Finish:

Spoiler:

Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon are so mean, though... really mean, and it isn't fair to them. This goes to show you how bullying can really change someone's mind, you know? Anyway--to be honest, Ed Valentine did a good job on the episode. I've seen what he did in The Fairly Odd Parents, I to be honest, believe he belongs in My Little Pony! Anyway... I was upset on how Scootaloo didn't earn her Cutie Mark... really. She should have gotten one out of this experience! And let's not forget to mention... that Harshwitty was acting pretty silly at the end! So funny! I hope Ed Valentine writes more stuff like this! ALSO OMG THAT SONG IS GOING ON MY PROFILE, IT'S GOING ON MY PROFILE. "Hearts strong as horses!"

9/10!

Meganium December 14th, 2013 10:07 AM

Spoiler:
I thought this episode was bit heartwarming, however, having Rainbow Dash control her emotional excitement was pretty hard. xD I'm someone who won't control her emotions in a professional manner, so I can also relate to her in a way. In the meantime, I'm soooo glad they're bringing the Equestria Games into play. Will we see a season finale special based on the games? Or an episode based on that? I really hope that happens this season, it's gonna be da booooomb.

I really like Heart's Strong as Horses. It's a pretty catchy song and all three CMCs sang it really well. <3

also POWER PONIES next week. Can y'all say EXCITED? :D

Palamon December 14th, 2013 12:01 PM

Am I excited for Power Ponies? Let's see...

http://i.minus.com/iz4FzpgSqrUi7.gif

....That should answer the question, I think! xD I'm, like, extremely excited. Just so you know, three people wrote it! That's going to be awesome, ahhh. =D To begin, I want to see how it'll play out:

Spoiler:
My sister and I think the girls might find a key.

Meganium December 14th, 2013 10:31 PM

That's TWICE the excitement. I literally can't wait for this episode. Now I'll want to wake up at 7 am just to watch this episode! ^__^

This is the only promo I found that has scenes for the new episode. I'll spoiler it just in case anyone would rather wait till next week.

Spoiler:

Pinkie-Dawn December 15th, 2013 7:57 PM

Now that I've watched the episode I've missed yesterday:

Spoiler:
Both Diamond Tiara and Twisted Spoon need to die in a fire for treating Scootaloo like that. Everyone in the brony community knows that Scootaloo is a chicken, as mentioned in the Stare Master episode thus explaining why she can't fly, and how it shouldn't matter for her whether or not she should fly if she and the other CMCs want to win for the Pony Games. That being said, this is the first time I hear the term "horse" used in the show, which makes me wonder: What does a horse look like in the world of MLP if all the mare civilians in Equestia are labeled as ponies?

Astinus December 15th, 2013 8:56 PM

A bigger, wilder pony? I figure that since even full-grown MLP ponies are on the small side, that a "horse" is a much larger, stronger version. "Wilder" comes from the fact that every town we've seen in Equestria is full of ponies and none of them are called horses, so maybe horses live in the wild or are creatures of legend.

A quick non-spoiler thought I have about the episode is that I really wish there was more Scootaloo merchandise. I'm hoping the survey Build-A-Bear put out about pony merchandise leads to the Cutie Mark Crusaders being released as small fries. A little Scootaloo would go great with my growing collection of Rainbow Dash plush.

I would say more about the episode itself, but I was really tired when I watched it the first time around, and haven't had a chance to rewatch it.

Spoiler:
Though I did enjoy the conversation between Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara about how to insult the CMC. "We've already called them blank flanks!"

destinedjagold December 15th, 2013 9:32 PM

Spoiler:
I was very very very reluctant to watch this episode because of [bullying]. I dunno why, but I really hate to see the CMC being bullied. Seriously, I dunno why. o.o
But I pressed on, and was really really glad to see how easily the CMC just [ignored] DT's and SP's bullyings at them. It's like the CMC already have gotten used to them and has already learned to simply ignore them.
But then DT got the idea of Scoots being unable to fly. I was, once again, surprised to see that Scoots wasn't put down by it, but instead decided to show the bullies that she can fly, though she failed at that, but still.

All in all, lovely episode. The song was really nice, and Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom shouldn't have ditched Scootaloo in the first place. >:[

And, I also LOVED RD's annoyed reaction as she left at the end of the episode, after the CMC announced their cutie mark chances. xD
It reminded me of Twilight's reaction when the CMC said they'd get a higher chance of having cutie marks at comedy. xD

Houndour2005 December 16th, 2013 1:32 AM

Flight to the FInish is now my favorite FiM episode.

Meganium December 16th, 2013 8:48 AM

I think Asty has a good point about the song. "Horses" would probably mean strong and legendary. The CMC are probably striving to be remembered and become part of history, and last epsiode would prove an example.

& hnnggg. The Fluttershy one came out a couple weeks ago at Build-A-Bear Workshop and aaaaaah I SO WANT IT. She's the prettiest of all four available ponies and I'm really tempted to buy one. I'm still waiting for them to come out with a Rarity one tbh...that's the one I reeeeeeally want.

If they come out with the CMCs soon, I am sooo buying all three ^_^ I can't decide who's my favorite CMC right now, all three are just amazing the way they are.

Palamon December 16th, 2013 10:45 AM

Well, I saw that promo~. It looks really cool, and tbh, I've always been excited for this Power Ponies since I heard about it! Tbh, I'm hoping that the Mane-iac is voiced by Kathleen Barr, idk why, it seems like an interesting voice for her.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh I need it now. T_T

The Equestria Games for the Season Finale?

Palamon December 17th, 2013 6:14 AM

Maybe, but I highly doubt it, ha ha ha... maybe we'll get a two part finale again? Unless we don't. If we do, I'm wondering: what will the finale be? We already know that it might have to do with that box the girls got... it could be, but the Equestria Games seems plausible, too.

Meganium December 17th, 2013 1:00 PM

That's what I was trying to theorize in one of my spoilers above. xD I'm also thinking that we'd have an episode solely based on the Equestria Games. So, if that graphic confirms that we will have an episode on the Equestria Games, then I'm 3x excited. Will the mane 6 participate? Will we have a villain who plans on ruining the games as a whole?

Spoiler:
Also gotta think about where the "key" from the season premiere would be...they're still searching for it and who knows if we'll see it in the finale.

Houndour2005 December 18th, 2013 12:48 AM

Episode 10 are revealed but no synopsis yet.

My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic : Rainbow Falls
S04, E10 (First Aired: January 18, 2014)

The Bats! epsiode.

Vampire fruit bats threaten to destroy the Apple family orchard, but Applejack's attempt to rid themselves of the pest are disrupted when Fluttershy wants to care for the creatures.

Meganium December 18th, 2013 10:30 AM

Hahaha, I think that episode is going to be fun with Fluttershy wanting to take care of those bats, a la "Keep Calm & Flutter On". That's one quality I really like about her.

Also, at first I read that the episode was about the "bat ponies". some bronies were rumoring about it on twitter. I didn't believe it, though.

Houndour2005 December 19th, 2013 2:17 AM

Rarity Takes Manehattan
Synopsis: When Rarity attends Fashion Week, another designer copies her entire line.

Pinkie Apple Pie
Synopsis: Pinkie Pie sets out to discover whether or not she is related to the Apple family.

Meganium December 19th, 2013 4:21 PM

What episode numbers are that? 11 & 12? About time Rarity's going to have her very own episode! I've been waiting since Season TWO for another Rarity episode. <3

Palamon December 19th, 2013 4:27 PM

Episode 10 is Rainbow Falls!

Also, wow, my prediction for Pinkie Apple Pie was wayyyy off...

Episode 11 hasn't been revealed yet, I don't think!

Pinkie-Dawn December 21st, 2013 8:50 AM

Ponies, Assemble!

Spoiler:
Didn't expect the Power Ponies episode to be a Spike-centric episode, which only makes it better, because sidekick-centric episodes are much more interesting that main hero episodes. Let's see what superheroes Spike and the mane six are based off of as the Power Ponies:

Twilight - Superman?
Pinkie - Flash
Dash - Storm
AJ - Wonder Woman
Rarity - Green Lantern
Fluttershy - Hulk (the funniest moment near the end of the episode)
Spike - Robin

The Mane-iac also seems to be Joker and Dr. Octagonopus Doc Ock's love child. I'm really looking forward to how the old castle will turn out once it's finished being fixed as Twilight's new throne, as well as a possible return of the Shadow Pony from the third episode.

Meganium December 21st, 2013 9:35 AM

Oh my goodness.

Spoiler:
You want a pony version of superheroes? YOU GOT IT. Power Ponies has proven that yes, even the animators can ponify the superhero personas that we're usually accustomed to. The fact that they centered the episode on Spike, who played as the clumsy and heroic sidekick, was amazing. And how they saved the best for last. I honestly enjoyed Fluttershy's superheroic moment.

"BEEEEE MAAAAD."

"I'm trying!!"

*Mane-iac slaps firefly*

"HOW DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAREEEE YOOOOOOOOOOOOOU." *turns into hulk*

oh. my. god. that was just EPIIIIIIIIC!! I applaud. I applaud.

Palamon December 21st, 2013 1:47 PM

Power Ponies:

Spoiler:
AMAZING, OMG SO AMAZING. Okay, I love Mane-iac. Never favorite villain until further notice. I love how the comic was enchanted and that's how they got sucked into it. The ending was kind of rushed yeah, but at least they got out!

Also, the old castle seems to be a major symbol in this season. I think they'll be going back to it a ton of times before season 4 ends.

destinedjagold December 21st, 2013 4:33 PM

Fun new episode. :3
I would have said a lot more about this new episode, but...
Spoiler:
Fluttershy...
My jaw just dropped... O.O

I believe this image best describes the climax of yesterday's episode in a nutshell:

I think this last episode pretty much proved that if you kill a fly next time, fluttershy will come and kick your butt. So I better be nice to all the bugs then haha

Houndour2005 December 22nd, 2013 8:21 AM

I loved The Power Ponies.

On saturday it's Bats.

"Sweet Apple Acres is taken over by Vampire Fruit Bats"

Astinus December 22nd, 2013 9:00 PM

This was a fun episode! I got a lot of laughs from it, particularly from Pinkie.

Spoiler:
I'm hoping that something more can be done with the power ponies idea. Like a side comic or something.

That's probably nostalgia talking. When I was growing up, there was a series of children's novels based on the comic strip Garfield by Jim Davis. In these novels, the usual cast of the Garfield comics were transported to another dimension where they became super heroes with powers based around their personalities. The idea was a lot of fun to see, and I was reminded strongly of it with this episode.

I also like how darker the scenery was in this episode. It reminded me of Batman: The Animated Series, and was a nice little homage to that great cartoon.

Really, I liked this episode's concept. It was slightly weird to me that Spike had to be reminded again that the Mane 6 like having him around, but hey...still enjoyable to watch a great concept executed well.

Houndour2005 December 23rd, 2013 1:36 PM

Episode 11 revealed.

Synopsis: “Three’s a Crowd”: Pinkie Pie finds her status as “super-duper party pony” in jeopardy when the mysterious Cheese Sandwich comes to town and offers to plan an epic party for Rainbow Dash. Guest voiceover by Weird Al Yankovic.

omg I was kinda thinking of the same thing. I was hoping t-shirts of the power ponies would come out soon at Hot Topic or something because oooh my god, I would so buy it in a heartbeat. I'm also interested in the side comic if it happens sooner or later. It'd be a fun read tbh!

I don't think this needs to be spoilered, but I'll ask those that watched the episode: Which Power Pony did you like best?

The twitterbronies were buzzing about this today, it'd be quite an interesting episode, especially with Weird Al. Looking forward to that!

Don’t you just hate it when you get everyone a Rarity song for the holidays and then realize it won’t be delivered until the New Year?

U.Flame December 24th, 2013 8:55 PM

If you don't mind more of my personal issues, I'd like to vent some more. Back in Thanksgiving, I said I got into an argument with most of my family about being a brony. Today, during a discussion about Doctor Who, I casually brought Doctor Whooves only to be interrupted with "That's a forbidden subject in this house." Just like last time, they said it with a joking tone but were nevertheless serious about it. Hell, they didn't even judge my confused sexuality! I don't care how they put it, it hurts like hell to be rejected at the mere mention of a fandom!

Palamon December 25th, 2013 4:23 PM

Good thing we're getting a new Rarity song. I've been wanting a new one for a g e s. At any rate.... I have a bad feeling about episode 11 for this season---seems strange to me: but Weird Al is interesting... so I hope that the strange description doesn't make it an odd episode. Here's to it being the best Pinkie Pie episode of the year.

Meganium December 27th, 2013 10:03 AM

gdi Meghan McCarthy! Teasing us till the new year. I want that Rarity song :|

It's okay to vent. My family kinda hates it when I mention anything ponies...whereas they think it's for little kids and we're (the adults in the fandom) ruining it all. I really don't care what people say, especially in my family. Judge all they want. Our love for ponies isn't going away at all. :3

What is that "Rainbow Powers"?

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BhhmCSJXMTQ/Ur3Ewy810MI/AAAAAAABpcg/S7omLeBw95E/s1600/Capture.PNG

E 11 Threes A Crowd
The Hub Network's synopsis for this episode: "Twilight is looking forward to some quality bonding time with Princess Cadance. But when a sick friend shows up needing Twilight’s attention, it looks like her plans for a peaceful visit with her sister-in-law will have to be put on hold."

Palamon December 28th, 2013 6:18 AM

At least that's the real description. The older one (the cheese sandwich thing) was really creepy and sounded un MLP like. Also... rainbow ponies? Maybe. It could happen at any time.

Pinkie-Dawn December 28th, 2013 8:24 AM

The First Applejack & Fluttershy episode of the whole series, if I'm not mistaken:

Spoiler:
An environmental rant with a horror twist: Bat Ponies! Well, there's only one bat pony, and it's poor ol Fluttershy after falling victim to Twilight's plan on ridding the vampire fruit bats going awall. And that ending, argh! They always taunt me on when will there ever be a follow-up to this event, just like Castle Mania.

Also, hooray for Winter Wrap Up parody, sung by none than Pinkie Pie!

Palamon December 28th, 2013 8:59 AM

Bats!

Spoiler:
SHOCKING! I thought Fluttershy got infected by a Vampire Bat bite. T_T But she didn't, thank god! I can't believe that the spell turned Fluttershy into a Vampire Bat Pony. Omggggg shocking! This episode was 100% better than I thought it would be! It's now my favorite season 4 so far. Power Ponies doesn't measure to how great this episode was. If it was their first attempt at horror, Meghan did a wonderful job.

Also, the song was e p i c. <3

Meganium December 28th, 2013 12:32 PM

I called it! I totally called it!!!

Spoiler:
So the bat pony rumor that twitter was buzzing about turned out to be true! I'm actually surprised at the fact Fluttershy was bitten. But honestly, I was expecting more of a Dracula-ish type of episode where Fluttershy would turn the other ponies into vampire ponies but that's going to the extremes don't ya think? xD But overall, I loved this episode, perfect for Halloween actually. It's also an episode that we see that Twilight's spells still need some practice and needs to be controlled. lol.

So finally, we got to see bat ponies. I'm actually happy now. Thanks, writers! :D

I never understood bronies or the fascination behind it. I heard about it through the howard stern show http://youtu.be/sMykmHuMtf4 is a short clip of some interviews of some bronies at bronycon. Not to be negative but can anyone explain the fascination? And if there are any cloppers(doubt you'll admit it) but isn't that wrong?

To put it briefly, we're fascinated by it because of the animation and the humor it has within the show. The brony fandom is another world. We have artists, fanfic writers, people that solely enjoy the show, people that do music, people that work for the show, and much much much more. There's also a dark side to it, yeah...but I'm not going to go deeper on it. I know a lot of peeps out there immediately think of bronies as "weird", "nasty" and "inappropriate", but they haven't heard what bronies are really doing to the community around them. They're doing charity work, helping children socialize, and much more. There are cloppers out there because they CHOSE to be fascinated by "art". And that's where most of the judgment comes from.

I literally cringe every time I hear the word "clop" because I find it absolutely horrifying. I'm someone that wants to stay for what I'm originally a fan of: and that's the show itself.

Thanks for clearing that up, cause the stern show was the first I ever heard of that fandom. I'm glad to hear everyone into it aren't "cloppers", lol the word really does sound creepy. But thanks again for explaining the fascination to me.

Astinus December 28th, 2013 9:16 PM

Unfortunately, the worst side of fandoms is what gets the most attention and discussion by those outside of the fandom. So when someone first hears of bronies, it tends to be attached to accusations of "clopping" or other disturbing things. But the horrible side is the vocal minority. A lot of fans of Friendship is Magic aren't cloppers or anything that you hear mentioned on the Howard Stern show. They're just normal people who happen to enjoy a show about colorful ponies going on adventures.

As for why I like the show, it's well-written, has a main cast made entirely of female characters, and is just a feel-good show that I always enjoy watching.

Houndour2005 December 31st, 2013 1:48 AM

Epsiode 12 Pinkie Pride
Synopsis: Pinkie Pie must defend her status as a party pony when a mysterious visitor comes to town and plans a party for Rainbow Dash.

Meganium December 31st, 2013 9:16 AM

inb4

because, no other pony makes better parties than Pinkie Pie.

Also, while I've been doing some lurking in an MLP forum I go to, I found this: The Pony Holiday Calendar. Someone took their time gathering up all the holidays the ponies celebrate and putting them in our calendar. The next holidays are "Family Appreciation Day" and "Derpy Day", aka the day she spoke and we were surprised with all glory. xD

Palamon December 31st, 2013 3:31 PM

Um... okay then. Yeah, I'm not sure how to feel about this episode description. xD Seems a little strange, ha ha. I'll still try it. "Pinkie Pride" huh... hmm...

Astinus December 31st, 2013 6:46 PM

I always love how detailed this fandom can get. Like something gets briefly mentioned in the background of an episode, and this fandom just runs with it, creating amazingly detailed things like calendars or headcanons.

Anyhow, Bats! I knew it would be a while before I could write up my thoughts on the episode, so I took notes while watching it.

Spoiler:
First, let me say that Fluttershy looked awesome as a bat. The muted color scheme looked great on her, and I liked her evil look. I'm not a collector of Fluttershy toys, but I would get Flutterbat because I just loved the design that much.

The song wasn't one of my favorites. I don't know what it is, but none of the songs from season four have stuck with me. Even songs from Equestria Girls I enjoyed, but season four hasn't grabbed me yet. Maybe one problem with this episode is that I haven't seen the Nightmare Before Christmas, so I don't have a strong sense of nostalgia for it like I've seen elsewhere. Still, it's always great to hear Applejack sing.

I was shocked when Twilight Sparkle leaped in so quickly with the short-term solution plan to cast a spell on the bats. By now, she should know to listen to her friends, especially Fluttershy when it comes to animals (as Fluttershy has proven that she knows what she's talking about when it comes to animals). She learned the lesson of listening to her friends in episodes like "Swarm of the Century" where Pinkie Pie knew what she was talking about, but no one listened to her. And again it happens here, but Twilight just...doesn't listen to Fluttershy. At the very least, I thought that Twilight would have researched the bats a little to learn what they were about.

The reference to Dash's love of cider was amusing. CONTINUITY!

It was weird that three out of four Apple family members were gone for the very first day of Apple Bucking season. I would have thought that they would plan things out better, like keeping at least Big Mac around to help AJ. Or at least have AJ complain that she was left alone for Apple Bucking season and she didn't want a repeat of what happened before to her when she was left alone to take care of the farm. Continuity?

Unfortunately, it seems like Pinkie Pie is thrown into the episodes to be random and not to really do anything. That's the way that this season feels to me: the mane 6 (and Spike) are included in the episodes, even if they don't really have anything to do. So some characters just get tossed in randomly, poking their heads in with dialogue or scenes that don't add to the story, just to remind viewers that they are there. I miss the episodes that only have the characters in them that really matter, like how it was before.

Though I will always take more Rarity.

I really enjoyed Twilight's retelling of what went wrong with the spell. The background music was great for that. It also kind of explains why we don't see more serious magic users like Twilight: that stuff gets dangerous in the wrong hands!

There were some things that I liked about this episode, but it wasn't enough to really wow me. Here's hoping that next episode is amazing because Rarity.

I am hoping that all these little teasers at the end of the episodes will lead up to something. At some point, they'll get really tiresome, especially if they're just forgotten.

SonicBlazePlatinum January 1st, 2014 4:20 PM

I liked the song from Bats!, it reminded me of the songs from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Also for the new year we are getting a Rarity episode which could have songs in it. At the end of the month we are also getting the first Twilight Sparkle episode in a while and it has Princess Cadence in it. I would like to see Trixie make an appearance in Season 4, maybe it will be "Three's A Crowd"?

Meganium January 1st, 2014 7:45 PM

We haven't seen much emphasis on Twilight's role as princess just yet, and I have a feeling we're going to see that once we reach the middle and ending of the season where she'll be taking advantage of her role. The Mane 6 keep revisiting that dirty castle in the previous episodes, I wonder if that could continue to be a key role in the season?

Ahh yes, I think the Rarity episode is this weekend. Yesssss I cannot wait. <3

Hmm, I would doubt that Trixie may make a season 4 appearance. She's already turned good after Magic Duel, and I don't see her making at least a brief appearance in one of the episodes. Although that doesn't sound half-bad!

Cura January 2nd, 2014 12:35 PM

Hi, everyone! Yoshi-san, under a new name here and I have one thing to say! BATS!

Still the episode was very well, I enjoyed it and personally this season has been A-OK! so far. Only had a few iffs about Power Ponies, but other than that it was great. And that ending with Fluttershy. I found that very interesting!

They are restoring the old Palace of the Two Sisters in the Everfree Forest, she said that in Power Ponies. So I that a feeling, yeah; It will return as well.

Hey, don't knock Trixie off the S4 wagon yet; Discord was turned good and well he played a major role in the start of Season 4, and lives with Fluttershy [it seems so from the intro], however Trixie was still in Ponyville last time we saw and she may appear! Oh, well. Til next episode!

About time indeed! Even the Hub just uploaded a clip of the new episode coming this Saturday. Spoilered in case anyone would rather wait till Saturday.

For me, FlutterBAT, but Flutterhulk made me shutter strangely, I don't know why... but I don't like it... it seems unfitting in my opinion.

The yearly-waited Rarity episode is here:

Spoiler:
Sunset Button is now one of my most disliked characters in the series next to Diamond Tiara and Twisted Spoon, for not only taking full advantage of Rarity's generosity, but also lied to her about the contest. The worst part is that we never see her in an upset expression after that scene for the rest of the episode, making me fully upset and wished she comes back for another Rarity-centric episode and get what she deserved in order for me to be fully satisfied with this episode.

Palamon January 4th, 2014 12:03 PM

Rarity Takes Manehatten:

Spoiler:
Good God. Those ponies were just... mean and snooty. And for that Suri pony to steal Rarity's whole line...just makes her a *****...I like how Rarity lost confidence. Anyway, it was a nice episode. I loved the song! Can't wait until next week, already on the edge of my seat, waiting.

SonicBlazePlatinum January 5th, 2014 3:15 PM

I'd like to point out that there was a Coco in Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends which Lauren Faust worked on, and now there's a Coco in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Coco also has similar eyes that look like Fluttershy's.

Meganium January 5th, 2014 4:11 PM

I approve 100% of this new Rarity episode so much.

Spoiler:
I love it. I absolutely did. One of the best Rarity episodes since Sisterhooves Social. It was the episode where Rarity was able to use her element of Generosity towards live. And yeah, you can apply this episode to real life as well, because some people do take advantage of other people's generosity. I also loved how they made Manehattan an Equestrian version of NYC. The environment, the ponies, the taxi's, etc.

The song was fantastic. Rarity's singing voice is amazing and I wish she had more songs later on in the season.

Cura January 6th, 2014 11:27 AM

Rarity Episode Time.
Spoiler:
Very good episode, loved Coco, for some reason I continued to call her CoroCoro in my head. Other than that, the song was moderate in my opinion, though the episode's storyline was fitting for Rarity. Here, I thought Canterlot Elite were a bit in the rear, Manehattan's are just as bad, maybe worse.

Either way, lovely episode. Now for some images.

Spoiler:

I feel sorry for Twilight a bit, at least the background ponies are no long copy-paste.

Happy CoroCoro COCO. (Damn I gotta stop that)

In ALL honesty, I loved Coro... Coco, glad to know she will be a common sight to see when the Mane6 are at Rarity's Shoppe.

Houndour2005 January 6th, 2014 2:17 PM

That was the best Rarity episode.

I saw a story for Rainbow Power ponies on Equestria Daily just now. I think what Hasbro & the show are doing with that is this: new merch coming soon to stores. This means that we'll soon see the end of the Crystal Empire era for toys and such, and later on this year we may see new toys, merch, and playsets hitting major retails. Don't know when, but there are so many hints everywhere.

I don't get that image. Care to point out? :x

Oh my goodness PRAISE THESE WRITERS for adding in pop culture references in MLP episodes. They are just simply greeeeeat. :D

Also could episode 16 be a Discord episode? Sounds a bit...gangsterish when I read the responses. xD

& peeps, have we discussed what the cutie marks of the CMC's would be? Tried searching the thread for it, so I guess not! Since the CMC's are searching for their cutie marks (and don't know when xD), what do you think they'll get? (You can include Babs Seed in this as well since she doesn't have a cutie mark either!).

Astinus January 7th, 2014 6:47 PM

Here's another image of the fedora-wearing grumpy pony.

It did look like the Grumpy Cat cutie mark was an afterthought because it didn't move with the pony as he moved.

Anyhow, I finally saw this episode, which I have been waiting for because it's a Rarity episode! Again, I wrote down my thoughts as I watched the episode.

Spoiler:
I was greatly amused by Rainbow Dash's comment about ponies bursting into song randomly just as Rarity did just that. Of course, it's always great to hear Rarity sing. The voice acting for her is just great, with the wide range of emotions that she can convey in a matter of seconds. They go along well with her range of facial expressions, which seem to have grown as the animation has improved. All the ponies have more expressions than they did in seasons past.

It was weird to me that Twilight couldn't just teleport to get the dresses. Actually, Twilight is just weird this entire season. No one gives any reactions to her being a princess and wandering around in the open. Especially that pony that wouldn't give up the cab to her. It's not like Twilight can just hide her status. She's an alicorn.

But this goes back to my complaint before about how the mane 6 are included in the episode even if there's nothing really for them to do. Like Pinkie's still coming off as a one-note random shouter. So there are several weird things about these episodes that wouldn't show up if the cast was cut down to whomever was necessary.

Anyhow, Rarity's meltdown was hilarious. "Isn't friendship MAGIC?" had me dying of laughter. The way she said it and just the joke with the title was perfect.

Speaking of awesome lines, Applejack's blunt honesty was amazing. The add-on of Dash's comment after that was perfect. I also love how Applejack had comments for Dash's excitement about the musical. I love those two.

I'm wondering if the rainbow thread is another teaser. I've seen some theories online that the thread is actually Rarity's key that she needs to find for the locked box. It would at least tie in one of these random ending teasers from all these episodes.

Unfortunately, I haven't been keeping up with pony news, so I have no idea what this Rainbow Power Pony thing is about. Time to head over to Equestria Daily to catch up on merchandise releases!

She couldn't teleport, because she hasn't seen that place before, as further explained by the fan-made crossover "Turnabout Storm." I kind of imagine Manehatten as the place where you're treated as a normal citizen no matter who you are, especially how isolated the place is from the rest of Equestria, making any disastrous news taking place outside the city go unnoticed. It's only in small towns like Ponyville where Twilight gets respect as a princess.

Hidden for those who didn't see the episode yet.
Spoiler:
Like all of Hasbro's toylines, the show has always hinted to things like Rainbow Dash's pet tortoise, 'Tank' with the Scoot Along Series, the 'Princess Cadance and Shining Armour Royal Wedding was hinted by the toyset that was promoed at Hasbro's Euro-Branch Convention, and finally, the Princess Twilight figure was hinted on Twitter before the end of Season three.

This episode with Rarity had a toy-ploy add-on, the example shown was the 'rainbow thread' that Rarity towards the end of the episode, however before this episode even aired; around episode three, we [I, myself investigated] got rumor of a future toyline promotion and it seems that was the unveiling of the 'RAINBOW POWER' which was showed off an episode before 'Rarity Takes Manehattan'.

Just happy to provide the club with any information that I can dig up from the net.

I...I really love the message of this episode.
There really are so many people abusing other people's kindness and/or generosity. I am sure many of us experienced being abused because of us being nice.

So, uh, yeah, I seriously love this episode. <3

Hello everyone, CureYoshiDarkness [Yoshi] here will some of your interesting news bits on the Pony World.

SEASON FIVE CONFIRMED:
According to an interview with Hasbro Studios president Steven Davis on WorldScreen.com; Mr. Davis made a statement that indeed there will be a 'Season Five' of the Hub Series, 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic' due to it being one of the successful shows aired on the Hub TV Network which is part of the Discovery Multi-Network.

You can view the temp cache of the interview: WorldScreen.com

Pinkie Apple Pie Preview on Facebook and YouTube:
A 'spoiler-ly' preview was uploaded to Facebook and eventually reuploaded to YouTube due to problems with the Facebook guest playback bug. Not going to say much, but its link is in the spoiler below.

More Pony References in Teen Titans Go! Series:

The image is spoilered for reasons, but in the episode pilot, Raven who is played by Tara Strong [who we all know plays Twilight Sparkle] had liked Ponies, a reference to Ponies. Well in the recently new episode, the animated series took that like of pony to another level and this image shows this. Comical.

Why should that put you in a jumble? I'm actually excited that there will be more ponies for another season and that's really awesome! Spoiler:
I dunno about you two, but a lot of users from EQD appear to love it, myself included, because it's perhaps the most hilarious episode I've seen so far this season. Three songs in a row, dang, I'm suspecting a another song in next week's episode because of this pattern. The humor between the Apple family's conflict with each other and Pinkie Pie not giving a buck about it was top-notched, and eagle running gag, need I say more?

SonicBlazePlatinum January 11th, 2014 4:09 PM

Next week's episode along side Daring Don't will be on the newest Shout Factory DVD, A Dash Of Awesome and it won't contain a song in it. However the sick Discord and Weird Al episodes will have songs in it. I guess that Pinkie Pride will be a musical episode with a polka in it since Pinkie Pie has played the accordion before. Also I wonder if Discord is faking his sickness so that Twilight Sparkle can learn a lesson before seeing Cadence. Also if Twilight Time is a Twilight Sparkle time travel episode that would be awesome.

Houndour2005 January 12th, 2014 2:48 AM

Spoiler:
This was one of the best Apple Family centered episodes.

Meganium January 12th, 2014 7:51 AM

Spoiler:
I love how the apples were so accepting of Pinkie Pie into their family, even if she's not really their "fourth cousin twice removed" or something. Pinkie never really had much of a family, other than the rock farmer family, and the Apples still took her in. Pinkie and Applejack make really good sisters. :3

Love the song, btw. And I love Pinkie in this episode too. Especially this:

https://31.media.tumblr.com/087c7d2671a5c71c3fae12aaff287bfa/tumblr_mz9eeyAGkr1swzth2o3_250.gif

Her faces are just priceless!!

Oh and HOARDERS. I laughed at how Golden Delicious was made a reference.

also @ Twilight Time

Spoiler:
If you listen to "Twilight Time" by The Platters on Youtube, you're gonna think about *how* the episode will turn out, as the title is referred to that song. I speculate that this episode might be a spin-off of Lesson Zero or It's About Time, but this time she might be a little crazier when she tries to make room to see Cadence.

Cura January 12th, 2014 11:37 AM

Found another pop-culture reference.... and WHEN YOU SEE IT... it might be unexpected.

That makes sense! I should have expected there to be rules in place for magic, since otherwise it would be really powerful for ponies to wield. I never saw the fan-made crossover, but that's because I don't go into the MLP fandom that much. I only watch analysis videos on Youtube, so if it's not mentioned there, I don't think about it.

The new episode!
Spoiler:
I liked it! Not much more to say about it. The song was catchy. The episode was fun to watch. I would have liked it if it was more clear whether Pinkie is part of the family or not, as if she's not that would have strengthened the moral, but it's a tiny tiny thing to nitpick. That's how fun this episode was.

The first half of the episode feels slow, but then the plot starts kicking in once Rainbow Dash saves Soarin and gets better after that. Who knew the Wonderbolts could be such jerks to their own teammates, to the point where they consider replacing the injured Soarin with Rainbow Dash, even when he's full healed from said injuries. Roid Rage also gets an official name, followed by the return of a certain cross-eyed pegasai who has left the community burst into cheers.

(Second synopsis for Pinkie Pride):
Pinkie Pie finds her status as “super - duper party pony” in jeopardy when the mysterious Cheese Sandwich comes to town and offers to plan an epic birthday party for Rainbow Dash. Guest voiceover by Weird Al.

February 8 – “Simple Ways”: Rarity has a crush on travel writer, Trenderhoof, and plans to wow him with her ideas for the upcoming Ponyville Days Festival. But Trenderhoof soon has a crush of his own, and Rarity finds herself competing with Applejack for his attention.

February 15 – “Filli Vanilli”: When a member of the singing group, the Ponytones, has to drop out of an important performance, Fluttershy takes drastic measures to ensure that the show goes on.

February 22 – “Twilight Time”: The Cutie Mark Crusaders are thrilled when Twilight offers to help them with their studies. However, problems arise when the girls realize they can use their relationship with Twilight to increase their popularity.

Pinkie-Dawn January 25th, 2014 8:37 AM

Three's a crowd huh? I wonder what that title means:

Spoiler:
Well I know learn that the third is Discord, who has "caught" the flu, and is asking Twilight and Cadence to take care of him despite trying to spend their quality time alone. Discord's song sequence has got to be one of the most WTF moments in the series, and I love it. There's a lot of movie references in this episode, from Harry Potter to Aladdin to even Tremors in the climax (oh, and Flash Sentry's cameo appearance). This further proves that Discord is the master troll.

I can't wait for the Weird Al episode.

Houndour2005 January 25th, 2014 8:50 AM
