Yeah, that's true. Smokescreen's really useful.

Chaos11011, Discharge only affects the room's enemies. Same with Heat Wave. Not to mention that Discharge will be useless if there's a Marowak or something on the floor.

Charmander it is! Thank you very much!

chaos11011 December 26th, 2009 5:31 AM

Oh thanks for clearing that up for me Arcanine.

Does anyone know what the purpose of the drinks on the "Hopes in Dreams" are for?

AliceBlaze December 28th, 2009 12:38 PM

In Mystery Dungeon Sky, do you have to finish the entire story line before you can evolve your starter and partner just like in time and darkness?

Because I'm hoping I could evolve them as soon as possible.

Yes you have to.
Way to evolution : Beat Darkrai - Do some regular missions - Manaphy will return - Do some missions again and in some part Ursaring duo will come and say something about Luminous Springs and you'll be able to evolve.

Can anyone tell me any post-storyline edits in PMD EoS compared to EoT and EoD ?

Also , any new dungeons (already know Destiny Tower) or such have been added .

Thanks .

I'm having trouble beating the three Haunters in Sunflora's special episode in EOS. Does anyone know a strategy to easily beat them?

Amore January 4th, 2010 1:42 PM

Pokemon Ranger question (original, not sequel).

Once i've sent away my Manaphy egg, if i do the mission again, do i get another? Coz i find some of that mission hilarious (Go-Rock Squad pwnd by a Parasect without attacking), but i need a reason to do it, really

No. There's only one Manaphy egg per Ranger game, even if you send the first obtained one away.
Even if you erase your game data and start the game over you cannot get another, I learned that from experience. >.<;
If you truly want another egg you will have to hack or buy another Ranger game and do the mission on there.

Amore January 5th, 2010 10:28 AM

Oh well.Thanks. At least i know (i hate taking on Charizard, so i'm glad i haven't restarted)

I used Bullet Seed, then when it approached, Grasswhistle. I then kept attacking with Bullet Seed and the other attacking move, and put it back to sleep when I needed to. If it got me with Sucker Punch before I was close enough to use Grasswhistle, I used Ingrain while it was asleep. I kept attacking while I was ingrained, and eventually beat him. =3

I do hope I've helped.

What are Monster Houses in PMD EOD?

The title explains it all.
What are monster houses?
And could someone also explain what linking moves is?

Julianus Flavius January 14th, 2010 9:03 PM

One link I'm fond of is <lock-on type move> + <1HKO move> which can kill absolutely anything one-shot. I'd want a high pp move in the other two slots though for the horde-killing. Possibly a powder snow/blizzard perhaps?

Kirbychu January 19th, 2010 11:10 AM

In XD are the natures of Shadow Pokemon determined when you catch them, or meet them in battle? In other words, can I keep catching a certain Pokemon and resetting until it has the appropriate nature?

AliceBlaze January 22nd, 2010 5:47 AM

I hate Cresselia! She's better off without us!!

Help! I can't beat Darkrai in Mystery Dungeon Sky. Cresselia always faints and ends up using my only reviver seed. Is there any strategy to beat Darkrai and his gang?

Btw I'm an Eevee and my partner is a Shinx.

Satoshi Ookami January 22nd, 2010 6:12 AM

You should be training and eating some Gummies before going to Dark Crater ;)
That way you can protect Cress from fainting ;)
And you should teach you pokemon TMs and Shinx should have Discharge.
So I suggest train until Shinx will have learned Discharge.

AliceBlaze January 22nd, 2010 6:16 AM

Thanks. My team is almost at lvl100 so all I have to do is just eat lots of gummis.

Pokemon Puzzle Challenge: There's something I don't get

Pokemon Puzzle Challenge Unlock Pichu
To unlock Pichu you fight a battle in Challenge on "Normal" level or higher and last more than 4 minutes. Then a trainer named Pok?fan will talk and then you'll battle. Win and you'll add Pichu to your arsenal.

I did do all that and the trainer with Pichu didn't appear.

I was wondering if anyone had any tips about how to beat Neon Colosseum on PBR. I always end up with the opponent's Pokemon and get destroyed by my own Pokemon.

Xebelleon February 15th, 2010 11:17 AM

It will be easier to use one of the rental battle passes. Since your own pokemon might be stronger, you'll have trouble beating the opponent if they use any of yours. Rental pokemon have almost the same stats as the opponents' pokemon so you'll have no problem beating them.

Hope that helped. :)

rockman0 February 15th, 2010 12:23 PM

Thanks a lot for the answer, but I kinda just beat it yesterday. lol

I hadn't thought of using rental passes which would have been easier. I ended up going through my boxes and pick out pokemon that were level 30-35.

I would like some help at pokemon mystrey dungeon Blue rescue team.

I'm stuck at Sky Pillar. I can barely reach Rayquaza, let go beating it. I'm a Cubone which I learnt Ice beam, just so I had something a bit decent, but it has only 8 PP, which is definitely not enough for both reaching and beating Rayquaza. my partner is a Mudkip, which does not have the best attacks either.

What should I do?
Should I just train while keeping dieing?
Can I go out to get some mroe reviver seeds and try again later?

Please PM me if you know what I should do.

Also had issues with that in RRT .

All you can do is keep trying . Try recruiting a Solrock on your way , it should help you with rock throw . And Max Elixirs also help . :3

As an alternative , recruit ANYTHING , disable its Item Master Skil (so it won't coonsume your Revivers) then put it in front of Rayquaza to make it battle until it dies . You and your partner shall just throw Gravelerocks !

Hope I helped ! :]

11wildy February 21st, 2010 2:44 AM

Well, thx. But I can't recruit Solrock yet, since I don't have it's friend area. Also, I went out to get myself a lot of Reviver seeds, so once I'm done getting them I'll try again. Too bad I can't take a Geodude with me!

Hatenko February 26th, 2010 9:49 AM

I made an exploration team (Wigglytuff's Angels), except there's a problem. Miltank, who has heal bell, keeps using it every other step, even especially when there's nothing wrong. can this be fixed by giving her gummis, or is she hopeless?

AliceBlaze February 26th, 2010 10:10 AM

You can stop partners from using moves by deselecting them and I think raising Miltank's IQ will work too.

Well , I actually but most of the Friend Areas since they are available . I was always short on cash .

If you mean after defeating Greevil, then you can get a shadow Dragonite if you've snagged all the other shadow Pokemon. Also, if you beat all 100 battles on Mt. Battle without changing your team, you can get one of the Johto starters with an elemental Hyper Beam and if want all three, then you'll have to do the Mt. Battle challenge three times.

Pokemon Ranger 3: Hikari no Kiseki

I saved my game at the first save point and then i tried to get on ranger net and for some reason it wouldn't find the events for me. does anyone know why?

AliceBlaze March 9th, 2010 9:47 AM

Have you finished the main storyline yet? If not, then that's your problem. Either that or the events aren't available yet.

They are programs which generate Wonder Mail mission for PMD games.
You can set type of your mission, reward for mission, location of mission, etc... after you set everything it'll generate Wonder Mail and you can use it ;)

i think this goes here so...

I would really like to know with shadow pokemon in pokemon XD, can you manipulate their nature with synchronizers just like you do with normal pokemon?? And does their nature change if you soft reset before you purify them to the point of where it shows their nature or is it set??

Thanks to whoever gets to my question =)

Sydian March 25th, 2010 1:00 PM

Their nature is probably set once you catch it, but I'm not entirely sure.

Synchronize does not work as a nature influence in XD.
The out-of-battle effects for moves like Synchronize were not featured in Ruby and Sapphire... which was when XD came out.

You're better off saving before the fight, catching the Shadow Pokemon, purifying it, checking it's nature and resetting again.
If I remember correctly you can't see the natures on Shadow Pokemon until you purify them... but I could be wrong.
In other words, it's a huge headache.

For future reference the nature is set when you encounter it.
So you can't soft reset before purifying either. x.x;

Nah, I think it shows up after you've gotten down to the last (or next to last) bar on the shadow meter. If you're going for specific natures, I suggest catching the Pokemon in another game where it's easier. |:

The quickest way would be to stick them in the Purification chamber in XD, and then purify the rest by walking and battling so while you do that, up to nine Pokemon get purified steadily in the purification chamber. It's a decently quick process if you have a max tempo going as well. (The scents work as well iirc...)

Well first you need the Friend Area called Dragon Cave.
It unlocks a certain dungeon called Wyvern Hill.
Fly is in the chamber on the 30th floor.. you need a key for it obviously.

You can find keys for chambers scattered on the ground in Solar Cave. :3

The only legit way to obtain the Time Flute in XD is by obtaining it in a trade.
For instance putting the Time Flute on a Colosseum Pokemon and trading that Pokemon to a GBA Pokemon game.
Then trading that Pokemon from the GBA to XD.

Thanks. But how do I get Dragon Cave? Wigglytuff says he can't get it. The most recent event I've done is Kyogre, I'm waiting for buried Relic to unlock but that's not working even though I've done so many rescues I'm already diamond rank.

I know Emerald has the Synchronize bonus. Hoping it's in one of the two 'Cube games.

But be prepared 'cause to complete the dungeon mission you have to recruit Mew or pass through all 99 Floors.

Oh okay well that definately makes it alot better, i mean i dont really have a problem with soft resetting for the exclusive awesome moves with natures and IVs for them(even though it takes awhile, im committed and thats why i have NP) and stuff like that like check out the togepi i soft resetted for-

Timid, Serene Grace with Tri Attack, IVs- 15-18/20-23/29-31/28-31/30-31/15-17

Speed is decent but hey it works for me, i think it's pretty godlike honestly and compared towards exactly just HOW LONG ive been soft resetting for it (i think about...4 days in that outskirt stand lol) not only that, but i had to battle willie before going to buy scents to see it's nature so it was pretty long, at willie made it more enjoyable with the ol' colosseum music since i think the music in XD is kinda lame

Besides that, i've also managed to soft reset the larvitar and meditite that duking gives you for trades(still working on shuckle), i know you can get them more easily nowadays, but i wanted them to be breedable, good IV'd guys and i pulled it off =)

Well lucky you! Congrats :)
As for the next event.
You have to do something :D And that is to obtain HM Surf from Sun Cave :)
It's on 20th floor in water square so you'll need water pokemon to obtain it, or you can use Trawl Orb if you have one, or Mobile Scarf... etc :)
And the next event depends on the fact if you have Southern Isle Friend Area if yes then the next event will be [email protected] event.
And if you don't have it yet the next event will be legendary dogs event :)

Unfortunately in older PMDs you can't.
Only recruitable pokemon that has different color is female Hippowdown.
Also you can see shiny Celebi for example but she isn't recruitable :)
But according to Serebii shinies are available in Wii Ware PMDs.

Ev Trainer X April 15th, 2010 9:58 AM

Who would make a better partner for Shinx, Munchlax or Phanpy?

Sydian April 15th, 2010 11:07 AM

Personally, I'd pick a water or grass type instead of those two since Shinx is only weak to ground types. But out of those two, maybe Munchlax, just because normal types typically get a better coverage of things since they can learn most elemental TMs.

Ev Trainer X April 15th, 2010 11:21 AM

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Thing is, I want a team with totally diverse IQ groups, plus Munchlax only has one weakness, which it covers by knowing Zen Headbutt from the start. Thanks for answering my question.

Satoshi Ookami April 16th, 2010 5:05 AM

Why hadn't you considered for example Riolu?
Riolu is really great in Sky. :)

Riolu can be a bit complicated.. if my memory serves me well, I remember a dungeon in the very beginning with tons of flying Pokemon such as Doduo.
Obviously you're just starting off.. so failing missions will be a frequent thing in that dungeon due to Riolu's weakness.. unless you train persistently for a little while.
Kind of a pain if you ask me..

Munchlax is automatically covered from it's only weakness in the very beginning..
So that's probably the most simple one of Ev Trainer X
options, even counting Riolu.

... Unless I'm being dumb again and missing a huge detail.

In PMD 1 now I just beat Suicune but there is two places which say "Go" one is where Lugia is and one is where Ho-oh is. All I want to know is what would be best to do first and bear in mind I mean like easier and lower floored. Also if anyone knows could they say how many floors for each of those dungeons??

Go to Ho-Oh's dungeon ;)
It has "only" 40F.
Silver Trench has crazy 99F and 3 (
If I remember correctly they are 15, 50 and 75.) floors has HUGE monster houses.
By saying HUGE I really mean it. Those floors are clean and there's huge amount of pokemon. And what's really annoying is that some of them are Gorebyss who are using Agility what speeds up every pokemon on the floor.
You should have some Petrify Orbs.

Well if you have right egg move (I had Bite) flying types aren't such a pain in butt =)

.hack April 18th, 2010 1:05 PM

Thanks =3
I didn't know Silver trench was 99 floors. Since it's kind of a side plot I hope I don't have to do it to progress.
Oh and just mentioning it took me forever but I recruited Entei and Suicune (Entei 8 trys, Suicune 2 trys) but by the time I was finished I was so tired I couldn't go get Raikou. I thought it would be good to re-treck through and recruit 'em since I need all the extra exp I can get =3

Well, there's that, plus I've already played through this game 5 times with Riolu, not counting when I've had it as a partner.

Well you have to do it :D
Because you have to befriend Lugia in order to unlock Meteor Cave (Deoxys is there =))

.hack April 20th, 2010 2:01 PM

I just defeated Ho-oh.
So do I have to beat Lugia to continue the game?

In SoulSilver you must defeat or capture Lugia to proceed to the Pokemon League.
As for HeartGold I am not 100% sure I'm sorry to say..
Due to the nature of SoulSilver, I'm assuming you only have to defeat/capture Ho-oh to proceed in HeartGold.

I think he's talking about Mystery Dungeon, not HG/SS.

Kai Yamato April 23rd, 2010 12:25 PM

I want to know something about the second chances in Pokemon Colosseum. How does the second chance at the Realgem Tower works? Does it like act like the story at the Realgem Tower didn't end yet?

Also on second chances, do the Shadow Pokemon have a different gender and nature?

Akito Wanijima April 24th, 2010 12:56 PM

Oh crap. Imma recruit Suicune and Ho-oh then if I can be bothered try once for Lugia.
If not, after that I'll just claim to of completed it without of done Lugia.
Thanks =3

Uhhmm. I have a quick question about PMD: EoS. I have a Togetic that used to know Ancient Power, and now in it's place is apparently 'Nothing' which has 99 PP and $$$ as a description. Like, what happened? x:

Did you use some kind of cheat?
Btw $$$ is apparently Judgment.

I'm trying to play EoS on no$gba 2.6a emulator but I can't save the game after the first mission, is there any solution to this?

Use DeSmuME =)
EoS does not work on No$GBA.
But I had not tried it on No$Zoomer so you can try that too.

It is slower then No$GBA but you don't really need quick emulator to play Dungeon games =)

I'm trying to get an Eevee in Joyous Tower in PMD:Blue but I always faint before I get to the floors where Eevee can be found. What's the best Pokemon to use in this dungeon?

They must have high stats at level 1 and must be able to level up quickly.

Satoshi Ookami May 8th, 2010 12:04 AM

Mewtwo or Charizard. But Mewtwo is better.

AliceBlaze May 8th, 2010 1:35 AM

Okay thanks. I'll focus on getting Mewtwo.

The Original Darkwiz787 May 8th, 2010 6:17 AM

How do you trade Pokemon that you got from Hayley in Ranch to DPPt?
