Confused?

I got Pokémon Rumble Blast today, and so far I'm addicted. I eventually got to the 1-4 (Challenger's Grounds) Battle Royale. I can beat the first round easily enough. On the second round, I have less than 5 Pokémon left to defeat and still end up defeated myself. My strongest Pokémon is a Liepard with exactly 300 power. Where can I go to get stronger Pokémon and, if there is nowhere, how can I improve my strategy?

Thanks for answers.

According to serebii you need 4 full stars of smartness (IQ) maybe you don't have 4 full stars yet?

I have a question regarding Pokemon Ranger: Gaurdian Signs. Where do you find Summer after you beat the game and after you do the Three Legendary Birds quest? *Note* I have already beat the quest where you cheer up the three legendary dogs.

try revisiting some areas, find pokemon with type advantages to fend off some of the lil' creepers

if you're having a hard time
try this strategy:
dont go all out
youll just end up beating your self up
try to defeat each few pokemon at a time
avoid pokemon grouping together
if they are, try using moves that dont do contact
like shadow ball or surf
should attract attention and easily dispatch them
quick note:be fast b4 time runs out ;)

trust me i beat the game

Is the Pokemon Rumble demo still available for the Wii? I am trying to find it, but I am having no luck. So does anyone know where it is located?

You have to connect with other 3DS's Pokédex 3D, you can't get all of them on a single 3DS, as all the alternate forms and monkeys aren't unlock-able.

Are you talking about the wifi missions? If so, there are no others you can download, there were more, but they ended a long time ago.

My question never got answered...

Sydian February 8th, 2012 12:55 PM

If your question didn't get answered, then I'm sorry. But not everyone here is too keen on the Ranger games, or spin offs in general. So obviously, since it got no response, means no one knows. And honestly, you could just try using Google. I didn't get a question answered in the BW Q&A thread, and I was dying to know, and Google gave me a better, and correct, answer. When I got an answer on PC, that person was actually wrong. So in some cases, Google is better than PC. I hate to knock the site I work at, but hey, it happens. So try using Google or Yahoo Answers and see what it gets you. :)

Pokémon XD is a sequel to Colosseum, so if you're eventually going to get both, get Colosseum. XD is longer and has more shadow Pokémon. It also has more features, so individually it is the more superior.

I agree that if he wants only one then he should select XD, but I must say I enjoyed Colosseum more :)

RingoH February 22nd, 2012 12:31 PM

Can you use Pokemon Battle Revolution to level up Pokemon and trade back to the DS the way you could on Colloseum & XD to the advance games??

This just felt faster time wise in the advance generation than grinding levels in tall grass or caved.... And I don't think I feel the need to buy Battle Revolution if I can't use it to help level up my favorites.

Nope, Pokémon Battle Revolution is like Pokémon Stadium. It has no real storyline, just battles. You won't gain any exp, it's more like the Battle Tower.

I never finished XD but recently bought a new copy and started over. I need to replace my Colloseum because I had a bunch of transferred Pokemon I was leveling up I want to get back on Emerald so I can migrate to Gen IV. I loved Colloseum and it didn't get old even after finishing. XD I am so far enjoying about the same. I would say if you want the Ho-Oh get Colloseum , if you want the Lugia get XD. Also Colloseum has the Beast trilogy, and XD the birds. They can both be found cheap enough used I say get both, then play them in the order you like.... Oh and do you have the game cube to GBA adapter? The big advantage is transferring between the game cube and GBA (which is only possible once story mode is complete)

I don't care about story mode.... Just level gain. I'm not going to worry about getting it any time soon then.

But the beasts are are available much sooner so you have more time to purify them and level them up =)
Though birds are good to be combined with Flygon's EQ =)
It's really hard to decide :D

Oh, and Colloseum had the Masterball Glitch, which if exploited means you get unlimited Masterballs and catching the beasts becomes dead easy.

The final battle is much much, MUCH harder than an elite Four battle, as you dont have an opportunity to heal between each opponent. I remember spending about an hour grinding for levels before trying it... and I think still needing to spend yet another hour or two grinding away before being able to really do it. Since you cant trade between the GBA and GC games until you complete story mode that final battle was a thorn in my side. But well, well worth it.

I also want to add that since the story involves a region in which there are no wild pokemon, and is very Distopian it is an awsome contrast to the largely utopian view in the main series games.

Satoshi Ookami February 28th, 2012 10:01 AM

Yeah, Master Ball glitch was funny, but in my second playthrough I did not use it =)
Was it? Maybe because I had beasts but I really had no problems with beating all those trainers (yeah, snagging their Pokémon was a pain so I had to do it more times) but beating them was a piece of cake :D

someone from tk 6D March 4th, 2012 2:04 AM

which spinoff game to buy????

I'm thinling of getting a spinoff game for pokemon but I can't decide. Pokemon mysetry dungeon red/blue,pokemon rumble blast, pokemon flora sky? Suggestinos welcome!

miltankRancher March 5th, 2012 4:08 AM

Flora Sky is actually not a spin-off game, rather it is another one of those hacks (though it is really amazing.) However, in your question in which spin-off game to buy, I highly recommend the Mystery Dungeon Series. Among the spin-offs, they have the most beautiful storyline (even better than the core games). Plus, the replayability is the best among all the spin-offs.

among them, however, seeing as you are a beginning player, I highly recommend you buying PMD Red or Blue. To give you some kind of a stepping stone, this game basically teaches you everything you need to know about the Mystery Dungeon world. Once you think you get the hang of it, you can proceed to playing Sky (which is simply Time and Darkness plus some quirks.) There may be new features, but nothing too complex. As I said, everything you need to know is included in PMD Red and Blue.

However, if you prefer getting another game, I suggest you watch out for the upcoming Nobunaga's ambition. The looks of it is promising. It is a totally different spin-off series, which somehow combines the core games and Ranger (I guess). Also, the new Rumble Blast game has awesome graphics, especially for a Pokemon Game, though from what I heard, the story kind of fails.

Anyhow, you'll have fun playing spin-off games. I find them more fun than the core games!

Lucariland March 20th, 2012 8:52 AM

If you like "roleplaying" I think the Pokemon Dungeons are awesome! You are one pokemon, and you get questions at the start, and the results choose with pokemon that fits you best! :)

Pokémon Card GB2 - Dome Cup?

Has anyone got any idea how to unlock the Dome Cup in Pokémon Card: GB2?

There was some speculation a while back that it was related to Link Battles, if that's the case does anyone know the exact number or boundary of numbers you have to win?

Or any other methods are appreciated.

(Sorry if I posted this in the wrong thread, but TCG1 and 2 were both spinoffs.)

Sydian April 21st, 2012 7:55 PM

You're in the right section, but there is a thread that you can ask questions relating to spin off games, so that the section doesn't get cluttered in questions. To my knowledge though, this game was only released in Japan. So you might be better of looking up a guide, cause I really doubt most people at PC have played it. ;(

It's cool. I found the answer to my own question on the unofficial Translation Forum. To answer it and anyone else who might be curious, it's apparently down to link battles, but there's supposedly a script that once you enter GR Island, you can fly back to TCG Island at any time and check the doors in Pokemon Dome and there's an off chance Dome Cup will be available, I think you have to have rescued all the Grand Masters though. It's too obscure to be answered correctly imo :/

Sydian May 4th, 2012 3:19 PM

Have you considered looking up a Let's Play of the game on YouTube? Sometimes when I have a question that's too obscure or specific to ask in a help thread here, I go look up a walkthrough or an LP or something to help. Maybe even GameFAQs?

If you're talking to me, then I haven't found much at all. I did notice a new TCG DS Game announced, (possibly), that's cool, but I digress. GameFAQs Walkthroughs have no mention of Dome Cup, and the Message Board actually only had 1 Question about it... which didn't have an answer. There was one YouTube video, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIzn6TKni2w) which did actually have a player participating as well as a comment on how they got there and a reply, but it was an uncertainty, it only adds to my belief it's related to link battles. You still have to rescue all the Grand Masters though, as Rod appears in the video.

PS, Sorry I'm getting off topic a little bit.

Gale of Darkness question

Well, I recently got a gamecube and pokemon XD( with another 7 games and it is XD's special edition cube, and for a very low price, yey) and I started a new game. So far I've managed to catch the shadow pkm I've encountered, but I was wondering, can a shiny appear in that game? and if I catch and purify all the shadow pkms will something special happen? Thanks for reading.

Satoshi Ookami May 10th, 2012 1:00 AM

Shiny cannot appear unfortunately, but there's a chance that your shadow pokemon will become shiny once purified ;)
As for the second question...
Well... yes. You will lose your Snag Machine (again :D) =)

Nothing official has been announced regarding PMD. Since we have just gotten two new Pokemon games, (Conquest + BW2) It's highly unlikely to get a new game now. Plus it's Wikipedia, whilst it his heavily moderated for fake information the odd troll can still get in there.

However it could be true and a brand new PMD game could be on the horizon n___n

I would go and get Sky straight away as it is the most recent. It has more dungeons, starter Pokémon, special episodes and more.

If you want to buy one then I'd agree with Vaporeon7 to go for Sky ;)
It has most features like Spinda's Café which is probably the best one ;), most dungeons, most starters (you can play as Riolu! :D) and special episodes are bonus as well :) It also has Shaymin who wasn't in the previous MDs :)

I would also suggest playing the first MD at least on emulator ;) Red/Blue was the beggining for most of use who love MDs and you really don't want to miss the emotions the first MD gave us :)

Doesn't matter really - it's a great series and there's not much of a change in gameplay, though the stories are very different and all are a good purchase. Which one(s) can you afford right now? Buy however many you want, or can.

Nothing really - though the controls are a tiny bit more inconvenient (if you like using the touch screen) and the story is a bit shorter (the aftergame is longer though), but overall it's about the same value. Not that that's bad, but just consider which points you want the most. If you like story, go for EoS. If you just want to play the game, buy whichever one(s) you can afford, most likely Red Rescue Team. If you want an even balance, EoT/EoD is good.

TwilightSky July 9th, 2012 3:44 AM

How do you defeat Darkrai on PMD OES? Because Cresselia keeps using up my Reviver Seeds and I've got like 30 of them :/ I've never lost to any boss, but I keep getting held back by Cresselia, because she's like lvl 47..
I decided I might use a Vanish Seed on her... but I'm only at lvl 54, and my partner Pikachu is on lvl 55, and the monster house is really hard XD and also I'm really bored of training up all the time soo yeah.

Rivvon July 9th, 2012 2:53 PM

I have a quick question regarding Conquest:
The official website says that the Keiji episode is available for download, but when I try to get it, it says I've downloaded the Ranmaru episode. Does anyone know if this is just a goof-up, or is my game just wacky? I haven't seen much on the topic.

Thanks in advance!

That was probably like the hardest battle ever for me, tbh. ): Cresselia can actually be helpful but it depends who she's put up against. When she's near Aggron, Magcargo or Rhyperior you'll have to step in. Idk what your Pokemon is, I just hope it can do something against them lol. Before you start any battling, throw something like an x-eye seed at Darkrai, deal with his minions first. :> Cresselia can deal with Arbok and Magmortar, she may have trouble with Mismagius if it gets a few flinchy Astonishes in. Once that's done use everything you have to defeat Darkrai.

The Keiji episode has only been distributed in Japan so it's probably just a mix up on the websites part.

Well you could say what you are =D (By the way Pikachu is pretty useless partner but well...)
Anyways your levels are pretty low... Training gets boring but I must say if you do interesting missions it doesn't get that boring at all ;)
I think you should train at least up to level 60 and have some Fighting attack on you.

To purify XD001 you need to have full speed in all purify places in Purify Chamber.
Then put XD001 into one of those places and it will be instantly purified. (It's a waste though xD Shadow Lugia is cooler than normal Lugia :D)
Which Colosseum do you mean, by the way?

Why can't I get a bad clone in Pokémon Stadium 2?

Hello everybody, I recently bought Pokémon Stadium 2 to perform the Celebi glitch, but I can't get a bad clone of Sneasel if my life depended on it.

Whenever I try to do this in my silver version, I end up getting good clones, and I tried doing it on my crystal version twice, but both those times after clicking "WITHDRAW" the screen turns blank and I have to reset the game :(

What could be going wrong?

PS: I also tried to make good clones in crystal and I can't make a single one, I turn the power off after "POWER" shows up, but no luck. I've never had this problems with Gold or Silver.

Sky question.
When can't you be rescued(bosses or some specific dungeons or other circumstances?)

Game will tell you directly when you are about to enter a dungeon with some circumstances.
Or you can use Serebii's dungeon listing to check it.

Thanks, Ash493.
But I have another question for Sky.
I planned out a huge team of 17 main members, including me and my partner, but the Wonder Mail S generator seems to be missing some Pokemon.

I need:
Mudkip
Abra
Shinx

Thanks in advance.

If I may suggest something... it's completely useless to have so many members.... not to mention there are some dungeon where only you and your partner can enter.

It's for later in the game, 17 Pokemon means a specialist for each type.

Umm yeah, dunno whether this goes in this hread but...
Is there anything to do after the main stiryline in PkoePark 2?

I understood that much but it's better to have different moves than having more Pokémon =)

I agree. It's much better to have a lot of coverage with your moves than actual team members.

I don't know why Abra, Mudkip and Shinx are missing from the generator list. You'll just have to make do with Kadabra, Marshtomp and Luxio.

You are not giving enough info.
What emulator do you use, what do you actually mean by slowing down, etc.
We need more information to help you.

Yeah, you can befriend a bunch of Pokemon, most importantly Reshiram & Zekrom.

Now about my Wonder Mail request. It isn't yours to decide whether I should or shouldn't have 17 Pokemon on my team. So stop telling me what to do and tell me if you can get me Wonder Mail S for them: Mudkip, Abra & Shinx.

Weird... they were supposed to be S ones... well it seems if generators also don't work there're no WMS for those 3.

PMD Sky

I have a question, I don't have a screenshot because it caught me off guard, but I was in Waterfall Cave(in PMD Sky), it was the first time through it, when Chatot tells you to explore it, a wild Lotad used Rock Slide.

Any explanation?

BTW, this happened about 10 minutes ago.

Lotad would have used Nature Power, which turned into Rock Slide.

I guess I missed it when it said Lotad used Nature Power, I just saw "Rock Slide" at a glance and the animation playing.
Anyways, thank you for clearing that up. :)

I need help. I recently started playing stadium 2 again.. I am stuck at the Elite four. I need a team to help. I can get to Lance but then it is over very quickly. Any suggestions?

The team I currently am using:
Jynx
Kadabra(Better moveset than Alakazam)
Fearow
Electrode
Hitmonlee
Dragonair

Also I don't have a transfer pack or whatever you call it so I must use rentals.

Okay, So, I'm playing Pokemon Dream Radar (AR Searcher)
and I'm wondering about the amount of orbs needed to get therian forms
1.Is it an total amount of orbs, so I can spend my orbs on upgrades, and when I reach 400/500 total orbs in the game, I get tornadus, or, to get tornadus, do I have to save my 400/500 orbs to get tornadus?

I read about it on Serebii and it just says 'obtain 400 orbs'. So I'm guessing it could just be that you just need to reach 400 orbs, maybe?

Try it and see.

OK, another question about PMD EotS.
Does quicksaving overwrite the saved data?

I don't believe it does; it's just a way of saving your game if you really need to whilst in a dungeon. If you quick save, and then resume your game, the quick save goes away, and you'd have to quick save again. It shouldn't overwrite your previous save file.

There's a PMD Rescue Thread here. It's not very active cause I don't think a lot of people are playing PMD lately, but feel free to use it anyway. It's a sticky. Can't miss it and the revival rule doesn't apply to it as well as other stickies.

Pokemon XD Mew Tutor Help Needed

Hello,

I have a Mew on Pokemon Emerald (from the old Pokemon event from years back) and I am trying to teach it the move of "Fake Out" via the Mew Tutor in Pokemon XD. Has anyone been able to figure out the combination of answers to the questions to generate a moveset with fake out in it?

Thanks in advance!

Sydian November 27th, 2012 8:27 AM

I tried to find a list of combinations, but nothing seemed to show up. :/ The most I could find was Serebii's list of questions, but not a combination to get Fake Out. Hopefully someone else may come along that knows it. I never had this Mew so I wasn't able to do this.

Can I change my main character in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, at the end of the game?

I was wondering if at the end of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon (Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky), I am able to change my main character? Do I have to get to a special rank to do so, or is it just impossible? By changing my main pokemon, I mean that I'll be that pokemon, even outside of rescues and dungeons. Thanks!

Sydian November 28th, 2012 6:42 AM

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you can control whichever Pokemon you want after you beat the main game.

You can control any Pokémon you have recruited before, but only in dungeons. You cannot change the main Pokémon that was chosen by your personality quiz, as this is the Pokémon that is supposed to represent yourself. It's the one that you walk around in town and at the guild with. If you were asking if it were possible to change the one that represents yourself, you can't. If you just meant you wanted to play as a different Pokémon in a dungeon, you can. Just go to Chimecho, add the Pokémon you want to be, then select that Pokémon and select "Make Leader". Then add/remove any other Pokémon you want to take with you. Keep in mind that the Pokémon you choose only affect your Rescue Team, a.k.a., the ones that go into the dungeon.

General Questions & Answers Thread

Since we often have question threads that apply to more than one game, I figured it was about time we added a general question thread to this section to help with clutter and to lessen confusion! :)

Rules:
- If the question you're going to ask already has a forum dedicated to it, like Black and White, please ask in that section's Q&A thread. Your posts may be deleted if they are specific to one game that already has a thread or belong elsewhere entirely.
- Remember that team helps belongs in Battle Center, and you must post movesets when you make a thread in that forum.
- This thread can apply, but is not limited to, questions about the following: fake games, migrating between generations, link cable troubles, debating choices of game purchase, changing batteries, etc. as long as it remains within Pokemon gaming.
- No "thank you" posts. They will be deleted as spam and you can possibly be infracted if you break this rule constantly. Feel free to thank someone through VM though.

Without further ado, let the questions roll!

Rare Candy Not Good For Leveling-Up?

Me and a friend of mine were playing pokemon Emerald when we came across a rare candy.
I said''Hey lets use it''
He said ''Nah Pokemon better level up with battles.Rare candy level ups dont give them as much stat ups as a regural level up''

Is that true?Does leveling up by battle increases the stats more than leveling up with a rare candy?

Sydian December 2nd, 2012 8:18 AM

Yeah, but I mean, if you've already accumulated all the EVs you can with that Pokemon, then a Rare Candy won't hurt. So for example, if you caught your Pokemon at level 5, I'm sure that around level 55 it's gotten all the EVs it can have and using a Rare Candy won't make a difference. I tend to just wait to use all my Rare Candies before the E4 so that I won't miss stat gains, but I mean, one harmless Rare Candy isn't gonna hurt you really. Unless you're EVing the Pokemon, I wouldn't worry too much about using a Rare Candy.

tl;dr Pokemon get more stat gains by battles, but a Rare Candy is still a nice treat and I recommend saving it till the end of the game for any level boost you might need. :)

You can talk to the IV Judge in Emerald, Platinum, HGSS, BW and BW2. In Emerald they're at the Battle Frontier, in Platinum and HGSS at the Battle Tower and in BW and BW2 at the Battle Subway. They'll tell you how high the Pokémon's IVs are in general, what stat has the highest IV, and how good that IV is. If it is perfect, they'll mention how it is flawless or something similar.

Sydian December 2nd, 2012 6:55 PM

If you're trying to get good IVs, you could have a parent Pokemon hold the Power Anklet, after you find out the IVs of the parent anyway so that you can pass on their specific IV. This only works in HGSS onward though.

Also, if this is for a game on the DS, you could just upload it to Pokecheck. That will tell you the exact IVs as well as the Hidden Power and EVs of the Pokemon. If you don't have WiFi though, then you'll have to use the people that vaporeon7 referred to.

Silver/Gold player needing modern advice

Hello all, just signed up for this forum because I have had the craziest urges lately to play pokemon. I used to have silver and gold for a game boy color, the only games I even cared to own for it, with a gameshark. I really did enjoy the games a lot but over the years I moved to console games and then eventually to PC games. The gameboy's been lost for years, it's really sad to think about... Not sure when it started but I know what cemented it, my girlfriend's 6 year old got pokemon black when we got him a DS earlier this year. Just seeing it kicked in some sort of addiction. I remember staying up ALL NIGHT just to get to the "next area". I remember using my gameshark to load up on repels and master balls :).

Well, I played black for a couple of hours, but I saw he had like Charizard and some others, not exactly sure how I think he has another game, so I didn't save. That's crap you can only have one save per game, I mean in 2000 ok, but today, it just seems so limiting. I read it's a marketing tactic to sell more cartridges. whatever. Obviously then if I want to play it I'm going to have to buy one of my own damned games..

Here's where I need advice. What the hell are all of these goofy pokemon? A silly looking monkey that looks like a pokemon rip off? All you encounter in the first parts of black are a bunch of filthy rats and small dogs. I apologize if that offended anyone. But I think so so so fondly of the pokemon of gold and silver. I remember fishing and I remember Gyarados, of course I remember how important repels were, but I'm skeptical of these new types. (I was exaggerating slightly I was kind of interested to see what Herdier would look like if he evolved again). Basically, every pokemon was cool in those games and now i feel like I have to judge a potentially good pokemon and pass on it because it looks so darn silly.

So what game do I invest in if I think the new generation of pokemon are just ridiculous looking? Or is the plot something that overcomes that? It seems like everyone has a different opinion. I mean are Ruby and Saphire decent games with normal looking, sweet pokemon? for some reason I'm leaning toward emerald as a good point to get back into the games. Or should I bite the bullet and suck it up, and try to play black or white which I have heard as being pretty good? I don't know how to reconcile how every pokemon in gold/silver looked really cool and they just don't all seem to in the new ones. And everyone disagrees so I'm just standing on the sidelines exhausted waiting for one side to win. So can somebody please tell me what new generation game is best for a silver/gold fan? I think I'll probably pass on soulsilver/heartgold because I read the plot and my memory is bad but I recognized every town and a lot of the plot so I'd like a surprise. But I can definitely be convinced because I don't remember a lot of it.

Sydian December 5th, 2012 9:05 AM

I'm gonna merge this with the general Q&A thread.

Suck it up and play Black and White. I'm sick of people coming on and posting about how the Pokemon are crap and new and ugly and strange and such. I mean, this happens a bit, and it's nice to have your own opinion and all, but things change, things move forward. We can't be happy about them all, and if you really just can't stand it, you can go do something else. That's just how I feel after seeing all these "new Pokemon are ugly" topics/posts.

Gameplay wise though, I'd keep playing BW. They're really fun and plotwise, much better than previous games. Black and White 2 are actually much better though, and if you enjoy older Pokemon more than the new, they updated the Pokedex in that game so that there are gen I-IV Pokemon found in the wild, which is nice cause all Unova Pokemon got a bit tiring after a while, similar to how playing RBY/FRLG, you get tired of all Kanto Pokemon, though that's what they were going for haha.

And if you want a "blast from the past" feel, I recommend going to HeartGold or SoulSilver. They take everything that make GSC great and multiply it by 5. It's a great remake and keeps the original games well in tact, while adding its own flair to make it different, and that's really what makes the game special to me. Not to mention, there are no "weird" gen V Pokemon. Just gen I and II, and later you can find III and IV.

And Emerald is DA BOMB. To be honest though, if you're coming out of gen II and going straight to gen III, I think what might ease the blow is going through by generation. So go with Emerald (though you'd definitely want to buy one from a local store, as the ones sold online are often fake), then Platinum, HGSS if you want to, and then maybe pick back up with BW or B2W2. I think what happens with people in your situation are that they haven't played in so long, so the nostalgia goggles are still on lol. So I think if you just go through the games you missed in order, it all might not seem so strange. Then again, even to the hardcore fans, gen V Pokemon looked weird at first. All new Pokemon tend to look weird at first, but we get used to it and adjust.

Sassy Milkshake December 5th, 2012 12:33 PM

Okay I haven't played Black or White yet. I'm familiar with most of the Pokemon actually, but I'm wondering if it'll make a difference if I just get BW2 first without playing the first games or if I should just play the first games first. I guess it doesn't matter, but I could save a couple bucks.

I recommend playing the original Black or White first cos it helps you prepare for the Black 2 and White 2 story. Also, Black 2 and White 2 has the Memory Link feature which activates when you connect to Black or White.

Memory Link unlocks some neat stuff, such as flashback cutscenes, the ability to catch N's Pokemon and also some post-game battles against N, as well as Cheren and Bianca using the team they had on the Black or White game used. Those are just some of the features you can unlock by only using Memory Link.

So yeah, start with Black and White, and then do Black 2 and White 2.
