Where would you live?
If you could live anywhere in the Johto region (based on what you've seen in the games), where would you stay? Azalea Town? Olivine City? Why?
Goldenrod City because I am a big city fan myself. I would enjoy the large Pokemon Department Store in the middle of the city, as well as the shops. And having a train station right nearby makes things ultimately convenient!
In Johto, I would probably find myself in Goldenrod as well :3. I love nature and quieter places but honestly, all the amazing things this town has to offer, definitely makes it a great place to live in. The National Park would be a stroll away and it'd only take a moment to get to the Pokeathlon if I ever felt bored or in a competitive mood.
There's the huge Department Store, where I could get everything I needed for a comfortable life, the Magnet Train so if I ever needed to pop by Kanto it'd be right there for me, the Name Rater, honestly a better question would be "What does this city not have?". So yeah I'd definitely live in Goldenrod <3333. |
Goldenrod is okay, but I'm not a fan of the cities. I mainly like Goldenrod for the GTS, the Game Corner, and the Magnet Train.
I'd so live in Ecruteak or Cianwood. Reason for Ecruteak is that I love the pagoda style houses and Japanese themed music, and I really like Bell Tower. But I'd live in Cianwood because it's close to the Whirl Islands and the Safari Zone. Not to mention the sea path to Hidden Tower. Plus, the medicine readily available in a small little house was really nice. |
I'd live in Goldenrod City for its Department Store, Magnet Train, and being close to the National Park and Pokeathlon Dome.
Ecruteak City would be a close second due to the Japanese look and the beautiful music and those cute Kimono Girls! |
I would live in Olivine City. I would see seashore and many boats coming and leaving.
In Goldenrod, you have the Department store, Magnet Train, GTS, Game Corner, close to National Park, Pokeathlon Dome, etc.
I think it has most stuff and would be fun to live in, and it wouldn't be THAT hard to get lost, though it could be possible xD |
I would live in Olivine City. I like the ocean. And it has the best city theme, but I doubt that would apply in the real world. X3
My two top choices would either be Goldenrod or Olivine City. I think I'd lean a litter closer to Olivine, though, as it isn't all that far away from Goldenrod, so I could just take a trip there if I wanted to see anything. Olivine, though, is situated right along the sea (which I love), and it's next to the Battle Frontier, which I spent a good chunk of my time at, anyway.
Ya, Olivine because it's a nice beach place. Also, in hg and ss it's near those new cave areas.
Ecruteak
I would have to say Ecruteak, the small very well themed town has a quaint feel to it. The atmosphere seems nice and overall, it seems like a very enjoyable place to live.
I'm going to break the trends here and say Blackthorn City. Mostly because I love Dragon types, and I personally think having the Dragons Den in the back is pretty cool. Ecruteak would be second for me, since it has nice towers, the style of the houses is pretty awesome, and Morty happens to be a Ghost type user, another of my favorite types.
Olivine. I get to live near the sea! :D I love the little plot of beach you can explore right before you use surf to get to Cianwood. (: It's also relatively close to Goldenrod so I can make occasional trips to go shopping and participate in the Pokéathlon!
I would live in Goldenrod, while vacationing at Olivine & Cianwood.
Olivine. I would love to live there because it seems really peaceful there, and you got a beach close by! Also lighthouses are cool hah.
I would live in Azalea Town. I prefer calm towns rather than noisy cities. Also it's next to Ilex Forest and, who knows, I might get to see Celebi sometime. The Ilex Forest shrine is full of mistery and I like that.
And I could get some apricorns too, in order to make some cool balls, so I like the idea of living in Azalea Town. |
I'd live in New Bark Town, because the HG/SS theme makes me smile!
Cianwood city of Olivine, seems like a more relaxed way of life and ive always liked living near water.
Cherrygrove city, because it is a peaceful town by the sea, as you can see. My pokemon (and also myself) would all be relaxed.
If I'm asked, I would answer Cherrygrove or Violet city... and also new bark town... Because those places are quiet and prosperous.. :)
Well I'd live Azlea rown so I can easily get pokeballs from Kurt. That and my favourite pokemon is Slowpoke and that town has slowpoke well.
Ecruteak City, because I would love enjoying the Autumn and the beauty of the landscape
I would live in Goldenrod and go to Kanto whenever I felt like it.
Definitely Olivine!
It's so colorful! ^_^ |
I would live in everys starter town except for Unova, I would live in Castelia XD. So New Bark Town, why? Because It's so calm and I love calm towns...it makes me relaxed, ready for my adventure.
Ecruteak, Olivine, or Goldenrod.
Ecruteak is a nice place, close to Goldenrod, and in the route outside, I can find the basic form of my favorite Pokemon. Olivine is by the sea so one can go to the beach whenever, and it's semi-close to Goldenrod. Goldenrod has everything, but if it were any bigger, it would be easy to get lost. And of course, you'd probably only be able to get an apartment. |
Newbark Town: Because well its basically the beginning of the Johto region and the pokemon near there are pretty weak and good for training for a rookie/beginning trainer
Ecruteak City: I like the whole Japanese style thing it has going, plus i can catch a Growlithe and a Mareep on the routes near it Olivine City: It's near the Sea Kanto (Pallet Town): I'd have an oppurtunity get a Charmander |
I suppose I should answer my own topic! :p
I love Johto, however if I had to pin point one or two places where'd I'd live, it'd be either Mahogany Town, or Olivine City. The former because it seems like quaint and quiet little town, and the latter because it's open and vast, it's right next to The Battle Frontier, plus, it has a beach! |
Blackthorn City. It is just nice and basic, and it has the Dragon Den.
Hmm, I'd probably go with either Ecruteak or Violet, as they're Goldenrod-adjacent. I don't think I'm suited for living in the big city, but I'd like to be able to make visits conveniently. Of these two, I'm leaning towards Ecruteak because of its distinct flavor and its closeness to other attractions such as the beach at Olivine and the Lake of Rage.
Mt.Silver.....................................................................................................................I wanna see Red.............
My favorite city is Olivine City because its by water and its one of the bigger settlements in the region, but if I wanted to live elsewhere I would choose Goldenrod city because its the biggest city in Johto and it has a department store.
I would live in Cianwood because it seems like a calm town next to water. Being close to the safari zone is like being next to the zoo so that's cool. Also my Pokemon can get some good training at the gym full of fighting type Pokemon.
I would live in Goldenrod for many reasons. Like everyone has said, Goldenrod has alot of stuff. Pokeathlon, Radio Tower, game corner, underground, park to the north, day care to the south, Dept store, and the train station. I loved this city ever since G/S/C, and that will never change. I sometimes wish the Safari Zone and battle frontier where there, but Goldenrod can't have EVERYTHING. I would have to say mahogany as a close 2nd. I remember going there in G/S/C and thinking it was a secret town or something. I like the Red Gyarados event as a whole, because i never expected such a cool event. I also love it because of Girafarig (one of my favorite Johto Pokemon) being really close!
I would love to live in Olivine, and be at peace with the sea. I love that place. So calm. Near a lot of islands, I would become a water trainer there. Then I'd use that train to go to Saffron, and then to Cerulean to become the new Gym Leader there.
Mahogany. nice quiet mountain town. close to ice path and lake of rage. i love swimming lol and snow. also i'd have to get me one o' them there fancy-shmancy redgyaradoses. lol also im curious how good rage candy bars are xD
Ecruteak because I find Morty an amazing gym leader, plus that's where Ho-Oh's history began. The environment is also really beautiful!
I'd either go for Ecruteak or Violet. They've got a mysterious aura that I just simply love.
I would probaly live in Olivine. =D It was always my favorite city in johto, and it seems like a calm place, just the way I like it. Also, it's close to the sea, making it even more awesome!
I would have to live in Ecruteak because I would be fascinated by all the myths concerning Ho-oh, Suicune, Raikou, and Entei. (And perhaps see them.)
Goldenrod because I love big cities.
I'd live in New Bark Town just because there's a guy that hands out Pokémon like candy.
No, but I'd probably have to live in either Goldenrod, or whatever city is closest to the Pokémon League (I don't want to turn my DS on to check :P) so I could have a steady flow of good challengers |
Azalea or Ecruteak. Azalea because it's peaceful and slowpokes and it is next to a forest I can explore all I want. And if I ever did have the need to go to a city I can just go through the forest and there's Goldenrod City right beyond it. As for Ecruteak I have always loved the buildings there and the history that is behind its towers and it's also small and peaceful. And again, if I ever needed to go to the city for some reason Goldenrod City isn't too far away.
Goldenrod. I'm a big city person.
I would love to live in Johto in general, because there isn't one place there that I wouldn't enjoy living in! Maybe that just means I like the friendly and chill atmosphere of the Pokemon universe in general, but there is no other region I'd rather live. Not by a long shot.
I'd love to live in Azalea Town, not because it has aspects that I like in real life, but mostly because it reminds me most of my childhood in Cebu City (I know Azalea isn't a city, haha!). It's just such a chill place, like peaceful living and ish like that. It's surrounded by a forest, and its atmosphere and location gave me a kind of looking-into-the-future and thinking-of-the-old-times feeling! http://cdn.wikimg.net/strategywiki/images/b/b7/Pokemon-GSC-Johto-AzaleaTown.png I would like walking around with that awesome music playing overhead all the time, as if that's actually how it works Also, these! Olivine, because it's right next to the beach. And the pretty Glitter Lighthouse. And the Olivine Cafe. It seems like a pretty nice place to live in general.
A nice seaside town would be perfect for me. The beauty of the city and the calm, relaxing ocean air would be a major attraction for me. |
Here let me break this down to real life expenses and everything.
New Bark Town and Cherrygrove City are in BFE so lower crime rate and less expenses Violet City, Azalea Town, and Blackthorn City is a little bigger so more places to work, eat, shop, etc but more pricey. Goldenrod City, pretty much the NYC of Pokemon. The crime rate would be high and cost of living would be brutal, so yea. Ecruteak City, is the suburbs of Goldenrod City so it would be a little pricey and bad crime rate. Olivine City and Cianwood City, lets get real here. They're on the beach, you know how much beach houses cost? Yea lol Mahogany Town - Cold AF, I think I'll pass. I think I'd do good in Violet City or Azalea Town. |
I'd love to live in Cianwood or Azalea.
In Hoenn - padifilog town. In Kanto Fuschia City
I'd live in Olivine, Goldenrod City, or Mahogany town.
Well I especially like Mahogany. |
Ecruteak City! It's my favorite place in the whole series probably, though The Under from Colosseum is a close second haha. I love the history behind the buildings in Ecruteak, I like the Pokemon that surround it, the gym leader is awesome, and the Kimono Girls are there! I love the music there too. Though I prefer the original music (I like the sombre feel to it), HGSS added a great flair to Ecruteak's music to make it unique and I really like it. So yes, Ecruteak for me! :) Oh and it's a cool name. Forgot to mention that haha.
Cianwood City - looks peaceful, has a beach and the sea right in the doorstep and near to the Safari Zone!
Goldenrod: Its crowded and there's many places to visit and looks like it can be a fun place to live in!
I would like to live in Olivine, Goldenrod, and New Bark. Olivine because it's a festive city and it's close to the sea. Goldenrod because of the Department Store and Magnet Train, New Bark because it's so peaceful there.
Olivine City, because of the lighthouse, gym and whatnot.
I'd live in Goldenrod :) That place just seems so fun. I've always loved the city.
The bright lights of Goldenrod tempt me, but Cianwood, with its pixelly architecture, expanse of ocean, and Jasmine, is simply a lovely place.
Goldenrod. Has a great atmosphere plus so much to do.
Def Ecruteak City, there was just so much to love about it.
Right outside of Goldenrod City by the Day care. Because I love breeding pokemon
Mahogany. I just like the city with the Rocket hideout. Also it is close to Lake of Rage. The Ecruteak - Mahogany - Lake of Rage - Ice Path region is my favorite region in Johto.
I'm torn between Ecruteak City and Goldenrod City. The peaceful city with its historic and culture filled background, filled with nature all around. And the great atmospheric developed city with perks all around it.
I think Goldenrod and Olivine are both really cool and a great place to live, but i think i'd like to get a place down in Cianwood City. You are basically living on a beach, the ocean not more than a few feet away from your door, and the houses look really nice. Plus, you can spend your day training in the local gym :D
Goldenrod because I already live in a big city plus my babe Whitney's there :P
Cianwood or Olivine. I've always loved seaside towns. Cianwood is amazingly relaxing and pretty and a bit rustic while Olivine is busier but still gorgeous and a beautiful place to live.
Goldenrod City. I'd really like shopping in the department store. I'd also like riding my bike up and down the city. Many of you would be living there too, so I can crash my bike into ya'll. Out of love. 8D
i'd say goldenrod because of the game corner, radio tower, bike shop and such. there are too many things to do there and also i can go to kanto whenever i want
I'd probably go with Goldenrod because I was always there on my old Pokemon Crystal and used to hum the music all day everyday at school.
Its a shot between Azalea Town and Blackthorn City.
I'd live in a quiet house on a route, but if it had to be a Johto settlement then it would have to be Ecruteak city as it has a long and interesting history and is very well centrally located...you can go to all kinds of places in Johto from Ecruteak!
I''d live in Mahogany town, not to far from both the mountains and the lake.
I always loved Ecruteak, as I loved the second gen games for their rich lore. Being that near the Tin and burned tower would be really cool.
Azalea Town is really nice, I'd adventure all the time with choices of Ilex Forest, Slowpokes Cave, and the Union Cave as well. Bug types are my favorite as well, but living in Cianwood would be really neat too:P
I would live somewhere between routes 45 and 46, because there are a lot of mountains and high leveled good pokemon. Not to mention its the link between the first town and last. So how's that, a route instead of a town/city :D
Olivine City for sure! :3 I love the design of the city with its flags hanging from the roofs, beach umbrellas on the deck, and the Glitter Lighthouse which overlooks the city and ocean. Who could forget its proximity to the Battle Frontier too? :D There's the ferry service to Kanto which would be great for holidays.
Olivine for sure. When I walked through that town the first time I felt right at home. For no particular reason I enjoyed my time in the little Café.
I want to live in Newbark Town a nice little town for me. :3
I can bug the Professor all day LOL. |
Goldenrod. I love me a good metropolis, and even though it's kinda small by Pokemon standards (even Saffron feels bigger, and that was designed the generation beforehand), it's the best place for me to live: full of hustle and bustle and activity and a big-ass shopping centre. All good things. I'd maybe have a holiday home in Blackthorn. It's probably my favourite city in terms of design (Goldenrod, as much as I love it, is kind of a mess when it comes to design particulars) and I'm sure all that alpine air and fresh Icy wind and Dragon magic and whatnot would do me good. :D
Olivine City, because there is the sea and it is near the Battle Frontier.
Hmm. This is tough, but I'd have to say Violet City. It has that rich, cultural feel but I feel like it would be a very modern, peaceful city to live in. Not nearly as modern as Goldenrod, of course, but I think it's at a nice middleground.
Mahogany Town. It's calm and peaceful.
Azalea Town. slowpoke well, lush green environment. ilex forest. perfect place to raise my family of bulbasaurs.
Cherrygrove. A small town by the sea sounds so very nice. If I didn't love the sea so much, I'd definitely say Ecruteak.
In no specific order, it would have to be one of the following.
Azalea Town: i prefer the calm rather than the busy, hustling cities i.e Goldenrod. You have the forest round the corner, Slowpoke Well and i really like Heracross and they're mainly found in the trees there. Ecruteak City: Why? I'm an adventurer, i love mystery and buildings that need to be explored like the Tin Tower etc. Plus all the buildings are different than the majority in the game. Blackthorn City: Because everybody loves dragons, right? |
Blackthorn City. It's small, but not devoid of people. It has some nice, watery outlining areas, a cave, a spot for fishing.. It's just lovely.
I also like Olivine and Ecruteak city. Olivine definitely has a coastal feeling which is something many are fond of, and in HG/SS Ecruteak had a nice atmosphere. |
Good question...
Probably New Bark Town because it would probably be a nice little town, a good place to start and yes I would be a trainer on a path to the league. |
Maybe Cherrygrove City. Although it's the smallest city in Johto it's based off the 3rd-largest city in Japan so presumably it's going to grow. It's coastal without being too coastal (no market full of stinky, horrid-tasting fish), and on the route to Kanto as well as being not too far off that main triangle of Ecruteak / Goldenrod / Violet City.
I would probably like to live in Cianwood. I'm not a huge fan of massive cities, and I love the ocean. Cianwood is a nice little town next to the ocean. It is isolated, but still has a gym.
Cianwood, probably. The Safari Zone is located there (well, very close) and it's a little peaceful town, not really disturbed by many things. The Safari Zone is a nice little place to get a few Pokemon as pets, you know? And the Sea! Who doesn't love the sea?
...even though I can't swim but that's not the point. |
