Did you use your Togepi?
In the 4th Generation, in both Platinum and Heartgold/Soulsilver at some point in your journey you're given a mysterious egg, which is said if you travel enough it'll eventually hatch! After walking around for a while, it eventually hatches into a small Pokemon still sort of covered in egg shell which is called Togepi, which looks like this.
Spoiler:
It's at level one like all Pokemon hatched from an egg. Did you have any use for it? Was it a treasured party member and raised throughout your journey as a party member? Or did you simply have no use for it or couldn't bother to raise it and left it in the PC? What did you do with your Togepi? Discuss :3! |
I like how cute Togepi is, but I boxed him after evolving him into Togetic.
He's a Togekiss now but I don't use him much, so he remains in the PC most of the time. |
In Gen Iv, I've never used Togepi; I did in GSC
In Platinum, I raised that Togepi. Now, Togerina (I named it) as Togekiss is formidable fighter, is one of my mains in Platinum, and is my flying (HM move) partner.
I wish I had raised a Togepi in at least of my saves in HG/GSC. Unfortunately, most of the time, I had either already planned another team to use, or just couldn't be bothered training it up to the general level of the rest of my party. (Which now I regret because I've seen it on many occasions to be a particularly good team supporter -- Wish). Now that you've mentioned it, I might include it in one of my teams in my next run through of HG or White if I have the time.
Yeah, I agree with Curious... my team is usually planned out, and Togepi is just never included in that team. I have at least evolved it to Togekiss though.
Personally, I didn't use the Togepi given to me in either Platinum or HeartGold. In fact, the only time I can actually recall using the Togepi that you're given was in FireRed- long after I had beaten the game. However, I did buy Platinum used, and the person before me had a level 86 Togekiss in their party, which I can only assume was the Togepi given to him earlier in the game.
I used it once, it was actually pretty good! It gets Metronome, which is also pretty fun to use since there are lots of odd things that can come from that ;) I'll probably use Togepi again in the future because it was good! Plus, it can learn Fly, so no need for a fly slave.
Not really used it on either of my Playthroughs of fouth gen games. However it seemed to make its way in to other playthroughs on later games.
I never use the togepi since it is a little problematic to train one. I tried to use it once but it ended dying multiple times so I just box it and never let it see the daylight again.
I didn't use Togepi in DPPt but in HG/SS I did. Metronome made me learn new moves and I didn't have to catch a flying type since Togetic can learn fly.
I just hatched it and am planning on using it as a Togetic (not Togekiss, looks weird to me though I will consider it xD) if it is terrible I'll switch it out with something else xD
Used it on Platinum and that is what had be gain love for Togekiss. Now it's among one of my favorite Pokemon haha.
I used it in my Soul Silver game. I quite enjoyed using Metronome, haha.
But, one time I hated it was I was battling a trainer, and only had Togekiss left. The trainer had one pokemon left, so I tried my luck and used Metronome. Then, Metronome decided to be Explosion. Small experience. Togekiss (nicknamed Bob in my game, dunno why) was one of my main, and had Fly (HM). I quite liked having him, mainly for Metronome. |
Togetic Powers!(AND LUCKY CLEFAIRYS!)
Im using Togepi/Togetic in my Heart Gold game and all i can is this: she's OP in the Ecruteak City Gym!Torhu (aka my Togetic) swept through the whole gym just using Metronome & Extrasensory (due to the fact that they only have Haunters,Gengars & Ghastlys).Speaking of move sets,I love using Metronome with my Togetic. The 1st time i used it,it made her use Fire Fang, then ThunderPunch the 2nd time. But then...ugh...Whitney's Clefairy was LUCKY.She used Metronome and it made her use Roar of Time!ROAR OF TIME!That's Dialga's signature for all I know! Now if Torhu can just make herself use Roar of Time,Special Rend or any Sinnoh signatures,my life would be complete!:)
When I realized that this little lady could evolve into Togekiss, oh did I ever use it!
Togekiss stayed with my Pearl team, through as much of my first play-through as possible. |
I only used the Togepi from the Johto remakes.
I used my ... male >_> togepi.
He helped me beat Whitney! Took out Clefairy with a few lucky metronomes, but got completely mauled by miltank >_> Eventually, when I stop being focused on gym battles, I'll go back and try and get it to evolve into Togetic. |
Now I have opened my HeartGold again, and I didn't realized I've raised the Togepi from Mystery Egg too! Togestar (a Togetic) is his name, is also a flying partner, and Togestar helps me to sweep the Pokemon Champion Lance.
I hadn't planned on using Togepi, but after keeping it in my party long enough to evolve it, I'd grown so attached to it that I didn't want to get rid of it. The fact that it came with Extrasensory and could evolve past Togekiss was definitely a selling point, so I ended up making it part of my team (unlike in Gold, where I boxed it the moment it evolved).
I used it one time around, the other I used Noctowl.
I wanted a female Togepi and at the time hadn't realized that gender was set for the egg. I restarted the game before the egg hatched, hoping that I would eventually get a female. It didn't work. So I used a Noctowl for my flyer instead. On a different run of the game, my Togepi actually hatched female. I used her on my team throughout the whole game. |
I always wanted to use one but it would always hatch with a crappy nature, and my ocd will not allow me to use a pokemon with a crappy nature, even ingame.
I'm ashamed to say that I boxed mine. Didn't feel like putting that much effort forward when there were easier options available, and I've always regretted it.
I boxed mine for later use, but I think I transferred him into a Gen 5 game. In Platinum, on the other hand, I trained my other Togepi a lot after the League.
I don't use it because it's a pain to evolve... Especially in HGSS.
I used it for tight situations, using metronome as a last resort.
Yeah I used it. Togekiss is damn awesome too. With having a cool assortment of moves and stats, its not so bad in competitive battling either. But I never got around teaching it fly. I used a slave for that.
At first time I played, I didn't use it, I just think it's weak and useless.
But at second time, I tried to use it, and I found that Togepi isn't useless. =) |
I didn't use it at all, since mine didn't hatch with the gender or ability I wanted. Getting it to evolve was a hassle too so I just boxed mine. >:
Unfortunately... no. I boxed it when it finally hatched, which made me kinda guilty since Togepi was just a new born pokemon and I boxed it right away without even leveling it up once. That cute face just made me feel guilty :(
Yes, I've used Togepi as part of my SoulSilver team by evolving it into a Togekiss.
Yes I used it, because Togetic's Metronome saved my ass against Lance
I have, yep, not in a little while though. I'm starting a new game in HG soon, so I might even use it again!
I could imagine more people would with the introduction of Togekiss in Gen IV but I still haven't really used it on my team. I used Togekiss in Platinum once but not in HGSS...
Togekiss is cool. Togepi looked cute so I decided it use it. Though it didn't have really good stats Didn't want to say bad It's cuteness did bring me to a point where I decided to use it. Decided to use it in Soulsilver but didn't use it in Diamond and Pearl since I already had a Starly.
Well I must say..
I had trouble training it. Exp.Share did the trick hehe. It was pretty useful when it evolved into Togetic and Togekiss in Platinum.Yes.Very useful, since it helped me beat Cynthia's Garchomp with Air Slash. In HGSS I also trained it but... I got tired of training it.Togekiss only level 86 now.Lol :P |
Yes, to breed a better Togepi -_- It had a Lax nature, that's why I wanted another.
I have yet to use one in Platinum cause I haven't done a full playthrough of it. But in HeartGold I used it for a bit on my team but then boxed it in my PC sometime after Ecruteak I believe. Though not too long ago I took it out and evolved it into Togetic. Once I find a Shiny Stone , I'll evolve it into Togekiss. I'm thinking of getting a copy of Soulsilver and if I do I'll use it on my team and evolve it into Togekiss. That or try to play it on my emulator again.
I didn't use my Togepi as I already had a flyer that did not require a stone to evolve, which was Zubat. Yes, Zubat. That so-called annoying bat Pokemon. But mind you, its third evolution, Crobat, is simply amazing. *ahem* Anyways, back to my point. Yup, never used Togepi, just boxed it. I did try using it in one of my games (don't remember which) and evolved it to Togetic, but it just got boxed in the end.
I only trained it till Lv.5 because i already had a HootHoot and didn't really think i'd need it.
I hate training togepi (metronom spamming)
In hg/ss it had extrasensory but it still was to weak for me |
I never used it in FR/LG (I know you didn't ask, but that was the first time I saw one). I'd just hatch it and put it straight in the PC. In HG, I decided to go ahead and use it, since the one I got was particularly good and it was sort of early in the game and I just wanted to see what Togetic was like. I never regretted it, and make it a point now to get one and level and evolve it every chance I get. I've got a really nice Modest Serene Grace Togetic in Platinum that's going to become a Togekiss at some point (I really need to get back to my Platinum...) and caught a Togepi in White Forest that I'm in the process of leveling up, and I'm already looking forward to the point when I can get one out of Yancy in B2.
I kept Togepi until at around Goldenrod (it was a Togetic at that point).
My first run-through of SoulSilver, I hatched Togepi and, when I saw it had Extrasensory, I decided to give it a try.
I was surprised because it killed about 50 Gastly with ease in Bellsprout Tower before being strong enough to go on, and soon evolved into a Togetic upon my arrival to Azalea Town. I traded over a Shiny Stone from Platinum and it then stuck around as a Togekiss and was possibly the shining star of my team, even more so than my Typhlosion or Ampharos. |
Yep, I did. She's currently a Togekiss and is in my main team.
Never used it. Doesn't interest me as a Pokemon
Mine is at level 1 and remains in my PC box. >_> Never bothered to use it.
Yes, its now a Togekiss, level 100 as well. Togekiss is such a wonderfuil pokemon, saved me from lots of tight situations in the game.
I'm actually in the process of replaying my HG game! So I plan on raising a togepi into a togekiss on there~ I just think it's a great fit for my pkmntrainer oc.
Yes, I used Togepi, and he was very helpful. Togetic/Togekiss were the only PKMN that could learn fly in my team xD
Togepi didnt fit my style of battling. I like to hit hard and fast which isnt something that its built for. it was cute tho
I did use togepi myself, was pretty good once it was levelled up and traded up to my Black save. I did end up trading it away for a Porygon though xD
Tbh, no. I don't like Togepi that much so I never used it. Sadly it rotted away in a box. However, I do know of one person who used it tho, and that's my sister :P
I'm in the process of evolving Togepi now to fill the dex but after that in the pc she goes.
Yes, because I always aware that Togetic is a beast of a Pokemon.
Togetic and Togekiss can be quite useful in certain situations, but in all honesty I was busy training up a lethal Elite 4 hit squad and, well, I could have picked from twenty or thirty stronger Pokemon at the time.
I imagine I would use the Toge's more for online battling than anything else. Again though, i'm kind of already spoilt for choice. |
I used Togepi in SoulSilver, but not in Platinum. It just didn't fit in with the Sinnoh games to me. :/
I think the first time I played Silver I evolved my Togepi into a Togetic but in subsequent playthroughs I just put it in my PC. I didn't really see a need for it, although I do like it's like final evolution.
I've always used Togepi since Pokémon GSC, In the whole playtrough. In HG I used only for a small amount of time after it evolved to Togetic.
I am currently playing Pokémon Platinum again, and I am training Togepi for the first time in a Sinnoh game. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it in my party trough, since I already own a Staraptor. (Togekiss movepool is tempting trough.) |
Um, hello, it's a gift Pokemon!
(Yes) |
I always box him, I mean, he doesn't have an exactly good moveset on Gen II and I don't really like the remakes, so I almost never use him.
I used Togepi in Heart Gold and he evolved into a Togetic I never evolved him because I hate Togekiss.
His final move set was: Fly, Shadow ball, Psychic, and Metronome |
I used mine until Togetic, but soon boxed her. If I'd stuck with her until Togekiss, perhaps she would have been more useful. Togepi and its evolutions' stats and move pool aren't terribly good, though, and the chances of the one from the NPC having good IVs are tiny, anyway. ;_;
I'll usually use it in Platinum but in HG/SS, I think I've only used it once in the many times I've restarted those games.
My Togepi in Soul Silver, is very bored, its sitting in the PC Box. I don't like Togepi's design so it won't be used in my teams. In the games, I go by Pokemon design instead of stats or moves.
I never used mine because I couldn't fit it in on my team.
I would use Togepi, evolve it into Togekiss. Have too much fun reverse Hyper beaming Dragonites of a certain Elite Four member. Good times...
I used it at first, aiming to evolve it into togekiss. But when I realized you had to wait until after beating the E4, (if I remember correctly) so I ditched it :x
Noooope. I remember playing Platinum and being vaguely excited because I didn't know what was in the mysterious egg and then being very disappointed when it hatched into a Togepi. I named it Evil or something because I'm a Pokémopolis girl and stuck it in the PC. All Togepi since have had similar treatment except for the one I grudgingly allowed to leech my personality in order for it to grow happy enough to evolve so I would be able to fill the 'dex. Its name was still "Eggthing" or something though.
I've never used Togepi, or for that matter and Egg Pokemon the player receives, in any of the Pokemon Games. I remember back when i first played Silver and we got our first egg i got super excited...and when it actually hatched i never used it ^^
I use Togepi in the start of the game (I always egg hatched it in Violet City) because there isn't a large selection to pick from. (The other egg pokemon you see in the games are Happiney's, which are horrible in-game pokemon)
Once I'm over by Chuck, I tend to ditch Togetic and move on to something else. I really don't use it right now in my current run as Hoothoot is my current Norm/Fly pokemon with a better moveset than Metronome. |
I've only used it in SoulSilver, nicknamed it 'Togebo' referencing the manga. It's now a level 57 Togekiss, I still haven't beat all Kanto leaders as I'm juggling all the 4th and 5th Gen games at the moment! ... It's worth the time to raise it from a Togepi I'd say.
in HG/SS, i use it because it have extrasensory. but i'll use it if its happiness has max and i've gotten shiny stone. i want to evolve it as soon as possible.
i tried once but got bored with it a few minutes later so i boxed it and took it out only to evolve it into a togekiss for my pokedex in both heartgold and platinum
I actually use it in my platinum game, I rise her, and once evolved in togekiss i make it learn the cool moves like aura sphere and fly, so she still is one of my principal member of my in game team :D
No, he just seemed too under powered to me. And my team, by the time I picked him up in whatever game I had, was already 40 times (not an exaggeration) his level and taking the time to train him would be a waste of my precious time. The box is where he is and the box is where he stays.
I never used Togepi in the original Gold game that I played. However I used it as part of my team in Soul Silver. It's a level 90 something Togekiss now.
Never used it in Platinum. |
I have used my togepi, i still haven't finished HG but it is now evolved to a lvl 29 togetic, and its awesome!
I used it, and I glad I did! :) I just love Togekiss ^^ It's my flyer in Platinum and I love his massive Sp. Attack even though fly is a Physical move xD
Yes. In HeartGold, I evolved it into a Togetic and then a Togekiss. It is a permanent member of my party and I love it!
I raised my togepi until he became a Togetic.
I never even got around to hatching my Togepi egg haha! :P Not too sure why, maybe because I used Togekiss in Platinum and I didn't feel like using it again. But anyway if I ever restarted I probably would hatch it, Togekiss makes a decent Flying-type Pokemon. :)
Quote:
Haven't played or touched HGSS or G/S/C in at least two years so that bit's kinda hazy. I just remember that phone call: "How's the egg doing?\n...\nWhat? It hatched?" |
Quote:
Nope. Never.
It would have been a burden to train from such a low level when it hatched. |
I did not use him to play through the game, even though he's super cute and I love him! I did level him a little to try to breed wish as an egg move to a pokemon...
I've only used my togepi twice.
I used it quite alot after I got it, I can't remember but it leveled up slowly for some reason, It eventually got too hard to train it. D: I used it though, It's still a Togepi because friendship levels don't like me, and my game is broken. It's still a permanent team member though.
Yup, I used it and when it evolved it was quite helpful since it was the only PKMN who could learn Fly in my past team.
I didn't use it in Platinum but in HeartGold I raised it and used it as my team's Flying type. It's now level 100 with the rest of my team. Okay, maybe I spammed rare candies.
Usually no, but it's exactly for that reason that I did for a while in Platinum. I thought it would be unique to make it my flyer instead of a bird pokemon (and for some reason until I recently restarted my Pearl I had been avoiding using Starly). It is now an almost level 50 togetic, maybe even a bit past. Unfortunately it doesn't have very good special defense, so doesn't last too long in battle hence why I had to give it up. It does happen to be my only flyer though so while I have not been using it for a while now, I have to withdrawal it to fly.
I also briefly trained the one I received in Soul Silver, up to level 18 or 19. It's extrasensory came in some handy, it actually managed to beat my rivals zubat in Azalea. This one has much better defense. |
I think I did once! I like the addition of Extrasensory omg. But I love the Togepi line, so I'm pretty sure I have used it once in HGSS. Togekiss is one of my favorite Pokemon. :) <3 It's adorable and even MORE adorable in plushie form.
Nope, I don't like Togepi and it's evo line.
The first time through Platinum and HeartGold I used it...Platinum because I'd never had one before (I somehow missed the egg in the Sevii Islands in LeafGreen), HeartGold because I saw it had Extrasensory, and Gold in PokéSpe has one. My last run through HeartGold also featured a Togepi in my team. It's now a Togekiss around lv.80. In that one it was definitely a lot of fun to use, especially when it learned Double Edge, as its ability is Hustle (competitively awful, but in-game the risk is fun).
I've never used the one in HG/SS but I've used the one you get in Platinum before.
That Togepi in Professor Elm's egg is so underpowered, I wouldn't even use it for breeding stock (let alone in battle). Note to self: if I ever hack HG/SS, make sure gift Pokémon get decent stats!
i used togepi, togetic & togekiss.
he's never used as a party member but when I'm catching weaker wild pokemon, thats when he shines. because moves like yawn, and sweet kiss. i can hurt them without doing massive damage, plus putting them to sleep helps alot. he's always going to be a proud member of my team. :) |
I when i first played HG i used him and evolved him to togetic and I thought he was a rock/flying type
When I originally played silver I boxed it because togetic is kind of underwhelming. But togekis is a great Pokemon. I kept it in my first play through of soul silver.
In HG, I used him a lot, don't remember when I switched him out. It's very possible I took him to the 1st E4. I don't remember though.
